Authorities suspect the operation has been running since 2016 but noted a surge in clientele following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Chief investigator Krit Woratat confirmed that at least 50 foreigners had been officially charged by yesterday. Phuket, renowned for its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife, has seen a marked influx of Russian tourists and expatriates. From 2019 to early 2024, over 90,000 Russians visited the province, reported Thai PBS World. Visited Phet Boy shop this afternoon. General observations: Less than a five minute walk from BTS (see above). Found it to be very clean with rooms on second floor (mattress pad on floor). Be advised that some photos the shops display can be three or more years old. So occasionally the guy who opens the door may be a bit older and possibly heavier than pictured. This applies to all shops. That’s one big advantage the shops in the Silom area have over the SK shops.

I used to stay at different hotels in Surawong area such as Raya and Siam Heritage but the moment I signed up for Marriot membership, I only stay at Le Meridien (to clock up nights). Nice rooms and great service but buffet breakfast is boring. Minimal change in menu. Sometimes, I force myself to forego buffet breakfast and go to Foodland Patpong for breakfast!

I don't think reader has missed much by not having yet visited Jey Spa. Over several visits over the years, I have yet to have to a memorable encounter except perhaps the very first or second time I was there (easily >10 years ago). The guys are OK, the services OK, but I have yet to see twice as much value as the "more pedestrian places", considering that Jey Spa is setting its price level at twice those places. But I can see how those punters who set great store by how the body looks to the eye would rate Jey Spa well, whereas my experience has been that looks do not indicate the quality of service you get. I do understand though that if the partner does not look a certain way, they don't even feel any arousal, so they'd rate Jey Spa differently from me. I think I have mentioned it before, but my theory is that some of us are broad-spectrum players, others are narrow-spectrum players, needing a specific type.

Ohhh So that's why I can't find Screwboys during my visit a few weeks ago. Since Twinks aren't my type, I haven't been going to other gogo bars in Bangkok other than Tawan, so when Tawan was closed I thought I'd try to visit Hotmale, Dreamboys and Screwboys since most of the nights I go to BEEF bkk nightclub in Soi 4 On a Thursday Evening went to Hotmale, only me and a couple of tables are occupied, plenty of boys but mostly twinks, show is ok and I don't remember seeing the usual drag queen performance. Next evening I unknowingly visited Screwboys as I let a tout pull me into a bar called Goodboys. I was there at almost 11pm when the current show was almost over I sat way in the back near the bar counter sitting next to a table of a lone farang. They have more boys of varied sizes but mostly Twinks and only few barely fit my preference. I stayed until the last show at 1am but too much drag queen shows compared to boys performance.

Got the same experience, when I return home to Philippines earlier this month before heading to Bangkok I chose to stay in a 4 star hotel instead of going to my house and but it was meh, I didn't find value for my buck. I also read some of Vinapu's trip reports where he do change hotel rooms and my first thought before was it will be such a hassle packing and unpacking your luggage each time. But when I tried it myself during my visit in Bangkok and including my return to Manila I chose to split my remaining weeks with a few Airbnb and hotels throughout, it was so refreshing to have a different view every now and then. Well, certainly in the US the term "ladyboys" would be considered offensive. I've never lived in Thailand, obviously, but I looked it up, and it looks as though that term comes off as offensive there as well: "...most of them see themselves as woman, especially post-ops. Also male to transgender/gay marriages are not allowed, this is a big issue. The term of ladyboy is a foreigner thing, Thais don't use that term. Equivalent is kathoey, and almost all trans woman find it derogatory and hate to be called kathoey. Also if you ask a post-op if she is ladyboy, she will most probably and say "no I'm a woman".".. As for the 17 year-old "victim" of the attack, it looks as though she went to the same high school as some of the other apparent participants in the attack. I strongly suspect that this "victim" probably did similar stuff to one of the members of the group, who likely responded in kind when he had supporters with him (as I suspect the 17 year-old did when the trans high school student was by herself). The Thaiger article you paraphrased seems to merely fuel transphobia, rather than provide a complete picture of what was really going on. That being said, there was a hint: "...The 17 year old daughter of the woman, Ruay, sustained the most severe injuries in the attack, suffering multiple bruises and wounds across her face and body, with her left eye particularly swollen. My sense is not that a bunch of trans women suddenly attacked the family for no reason. I would bet that the trans women saw the opportunity for revenge, and that the minor injuries were sustained by those who attempted to assist the 17 year-old. I'm not sure that one can condone violence, but if school and/or legal authorities don't help trans women when they're being bullied, such reactions are hardly surprising.

The crowd here comes to play and there are breakout group sessions are common around the space. A good mix of professionals, working class and students, this is probably the best looking/fittest crowd consistently in the city. The parking lot is full of motos by 5pm.
