From The Thaiger A treasure chest was unearthed along the banks of the Mekong River in Bokeo Province, Laos, revealing a trove of Buddha statues, gemstones, coloured stones, metal artefacts, and other valuable items. The discovery follows earlier findings of Buddha statues and ancient artefacts in the same area, believed to be the site of an old temple and city from the fabled Suvarnakhomkham Kingdom era. Monk Khattiya Baramee shared images of the excavation, showcasing a large, well-preserved Buddha statue. The statue’s remarkable condition has garnered much admiration. Other numerous valuable items such as glass, diamonds, coloured stones, gemstones, and various metal artefacts were also discovered. The items were part of a chest retrieved from the Mekong River, at the riverside in Ban Ton Phueng, Bokeo Province, Laos, capturing public intrigue. Further details into the treasure reveal that the chest is known as Jai Phra That, a customary practice for people to offer treasures as a form of Buddhist worship, often placing them inside stupas beneath temples. The offerings typically include glass, rings, silver, gold, and various forms of Buddha statues. The page confirmed the authenticity and value of these ancient items. The discovery sparked significant interest among locals and historians alike, shedding light on the rich cultural heritage of the region. The artefacts, particularly the Buddha statues, are considered to be of immense historical and spiritual value. This find not only provides insight into the religious practices of the ancient but also showcases the craftsmanship and artistic achievements of the era.ddd2 points

Trump is so sick of winning, the guilty verdict must come as a relief. His constant declarations of innocence are laughable - except to the brainwashed, uneducated, hillbilly trailer-trash magamaniacs. If he were truly innocent, why didn't he testify to give us the real "truth"? Why has be never addressed all the evidence - the phone calls, multiple emails, receipts, documents, etc. Witnesses can lie but the physical evidence can't. It's that very evidence which proves the trial was not rigged and was not part of a Biden conspiracy. Trump has now joined all those criminals he says are crossing the border. How ironic! BTW, how come in the U.S., if you are convicted of a crime, you can become president but cannot vote? Am I missing something here??2 points -

Von ShitzInPantz guilty on 34 counts by jury. Found guilty by 12 jurors selected by both the prosecution and the defense on Each. And. Every. Count. Unanimously. How long before Von ShitzInPantz starts blaming his attorney, Todd Blanche, for the guilty verdicts? Do you think Blanche was smart enough to get his fee in full before the guilty verdict was announced?2 points -

Thaksin to be indicted on lese majeste
splinter1949 and one other reacted to reader for a topic
From The Nation Thaksin Shinawatra will be indicted on charges of lese majeste (royal defamation) and computer crime, the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) said on Wednesday. Attorney General Amnart Jetcharoenrak issued an order to indict Thaksin on both charges on Monday, OAG spokesman Prayut Phetkhun said. The charges stem from an interview Thaksin gave in South Korea in November 2009. However, the filing of charges in court was today postponed after Thaksin’s lawyer submitted a medical certificate showing his client had contracted COVID-19 and had been advised by a doctor to rest for seven days. The lawyer asked for the indictment hearing to be postponed to June 25. After considering the request, the prosecutor granted the postponement and ordered Thaksin to appear at an indictment hearing on June 18. “Currently, Thaksin is a suspect, which will change to a defendant once the court accepts the case,” the spokesman said. Police allege Thaksin committed lese majeste in an interview with Time magazine on November 9, 2009. In 2015, the Army filed a police complaint over the interview. In 2016, the AOG decided there was enough evidence to prosecute Thaksin and issued an arrest warrant. The statute of limitations for the offence is 15 years, starting from 2015. Thaksin had requested fair treatment in the case after returning from self-exile in August last year, prompting the Office of the Attorney General to investigate again. Thaksin is currently on parole after serving six months of a one-year jail sentence, commuted from eight years, for abuse of power during his tenure as prime minister from 2001 to 2006.2 points -
My report from Santo Domingo and Punta Cana
BlkSuperman reacted to alexch for a topic
Hi , I was in Santo Domingo, Punta Cana for three weeks over the last November. Hard fuck was the principal point of travel as 5-6 hours time different generates a strong jet lag. I was approaching guys via grindr, twitter and street pick up. My overall feedback : there is a lot of crime over there and you can easily be a victim if you don't take precautions. One of the guys from grindr came over and wasn't able to get hard despite porno , alcohol and even viagra provided by me. I requested him to stop the session while he asked for 1000 pesos. I rejected to pay and told him that he can wait the cash as much as he wants but he won't get anything. He started to threaten me but I open the entrance door of the appartment and started to sing. He finally left with few minutes. guy01 - the best boy I found this guy via twitter. He is bisex and offers fucks for men and trans. He works in the local hospital as a loader and doesn't make much money. 21 sm dick , great body and no English. He is really good fucker while I experienced the decrease of the performance after the third meeting Price : 3000 pesos while you can negotiate up to 2000 pesos1 point -

guy02 - once in a military I picked this military guy on Sousse train station while he was on his way home. He lives near Sousse and was serving a paid duty with a decent salary. He definitely didn't need any cash but some adventure and friendship. Later , he lost his well paid fortune in military and started to offer his services to former western friends. Well I’m back. After making my first trip to Bangkok in November 2022, I am going back in July. I’ve booked the Raya again. This will be a relaxing break for me. I plan to spend afternoons getting massages and hit the shows/bars at night. I think I can handle the BTS, this time I may try the MRT. I want to revisit the Grand Palace, and this time I want to take one of the fast boats on the river. I may hire a guide from Siam again as that was fun and informative last time. I’d also like to try some different places for dinner. Any recommendations? Can’t wait!1 point

whoever said that living in Pattaya is boring - now we may have a guy who murdered his gay boyfriend in Bangkok roaming the streets of Pattaya - If I understood the article correctly - it is assumed that he killed his boyfriend to get 2 gold bars. Another reason that I do not follow the belief to collect GOLD like many Thais, Arabs, and Indians do - it is not worth it - hopefully our life is more valuable than 2 gold bars ??? https://thethaiger.com/news/national/murder-suspect-spends-victims-valuables-and-flees-to-pattaya#google_vignette1 point -

I say we move directly to sentencing with two options: 1) a year in jail for each conviction - so 34 years (sounds fair, right) in a medium security facility with chance of parole after 10 years of good behavior. 2) No jail. $10mil fine for each conviction so $340mil (sounds fair, right) and corporal punishment of 34 smacks on the butt with a rolled up Forbes magazine in Times Square and broadcasted live on all major news channels (including Fox and Newsmax) delivered by Stormy Daniels. 😆1 point -

Thai national found dead in Taiwan, employer held by police
Marc in Calif reacted to reader for a topic
NOTE — I know VN national who worked several years in construction in Taiwan. He was treated well by employor but when eventually detained by police, treated very bad. Was not allowed to shower for ten days pending return home. Spent three days in Hanoi hospital, recuperating. . From Thai PBS World A Taiwanese employer is being held in police custody in Yilan County, in northeast Taiwan, on suspicion that he may have been involved in the death of a Thai illegal migrant worker, reported Taiwan’s Liberty Times. The Thai man went to Taiwan on a tourist visa, but worked illegally in Yilan until Tuesday. The Thai consular office in Taiwan sought local police help after the Thai man’s relatives in Thailand filed complaint with Thai police, reporting that they had been unable to contact him for quite some time. Yilan County police subsequently found the body of the Thai man near a cemetery and summoned the decedent’s Taiwanese employer for questioning. According to the English-language Taiwanese newspaper, the employer, identified only as “Mr. Lin”, initially denied knowing anything about the man’s death, but eventually admitted that he knew that he had died. He claimed that the Thai man was a heavy drinker and fell ill last week, adding that he did not see a doctor, but took over-the-counter medications. On Monday morning, the man’s Thai girlfriend found him lifeless in his room and alerted Lin. Lin claimed that he was afraid of legal action, for employing an undocumented worker, and convinced the girlfriend and two other Thai employees to dispose of the body near a cemetery. Police are attempting to determine the actual cause of death, according to Taiwanese media.1 point -
Got the same experience, when I return home to Philippines earlier this month before heading to Bangkok I chose to stay in a 4 star hotel instead of going to my house and but it was meh, I didn't find value for my buck. I also read some of Vinapu's trip reports where he do change hotel rooms and my first thought before was it will be such a hassle packing and unpacking your luggage each time. But when I tried it myself during my visit in Bangkok and including my return to Manila I chose to split my remaining weeks with a few Airbnb and hotels throughout, it was so refreshing to have a different view every now and then. Thanks @vinapu for the idea.1 point

splinter1949 reacted to gayinpattaya for a topic
You get what you pay for I guess. Living in Pattaya I have seen rent prices increase, and I put that on the influx of Russians pushing up demand. Having said that, it's only about 20% higher then pre-covid, but 50% higher than post covid. 7-11 has seen massive increases, which doesn't effect me as much as it does the Thai people. Then again, Thai's are smart and use the markets, which have seen smaller price increases. I have to say though, the price of Durian is sickening. It shocks me to see Thai people flocking to these pop-up Durian shops and spending a fortune on the stuff. Luckily I can't stand it. The same can't be said about the boyfriend.... As for boys and bars, yeah it's getting very expensive for visitors. 100-120b in Jomtien Complex for a bottle of Chang is just wrong. I refuse to pay it. Walk 50 meters to the main road and the girly bars sell for 55-60 baht. It's just ripping off the gay tourists. Most expats I spend time with, who are generally not retired but work here, buy bottles of whiskey/vodka/gin and that keeps their prices down. You can also give boys drinks from your bottle, which doesn't class as a boy drink. But still tip them if you're getting them drunk! As for boys, well, pay what you want. As said in another thread recently, there are some pretentious little queens running round demanding 4k ST. I'm sure some are paying it, good for them. There are other boys just as cute who will run to your condo for 1000 baht. Especially now in low season. It's very quiet around here. I personally am spending a lot less time in bars as life is getting busy for me. Often when I do go out, I find myself in places that are not "boy bars" and have just as much fun. It's surprising how available boys are in Pattaya when you learn enough Thai to engage with them. That cute waiter in the restaurant you like, good chance he will come to your room after work! Anyway, pay what you want or don't. It's your journey. Be like the Russians and sit on the steps of 7-11 with a bottle of Chang.1 point -

They’re playing the odds. They figure a certain few with agree. Five years ago their predecessors would have asked, “you come to Bangkok before? 500 baht extra for masseur to climax
splinter1949 reacted to macaroni21 for a topic
I think you mean if the boys at Saphan Khwai are only expecting... (not the shops). In addition to @reader's first point about the boys not having to spend the whole day waiting around, the shops in Saphan Khwai are largely aimed at the local market, so the boys working there adjust their expectations accordingly. I also have the feeling, based on my visits and attempts to book that the boys in Saphan Khwai get more business (two clients a day?) than the boys in Silom 6. @reader's second point is also germane. The Saphan Khwai shops position themselves more as knocking shops / brothels, and make clear a minimum tip that is for sex. The local market by and large understands what the business is about. The Silom 6 shops still largely pretend to be massage shops. They do not set minimum tips commensurate with sexual services, leaving the boys to negotiate their own tips and if the boys don't do that, there is a risk of undertipping by clueless foreigners. So, if the boys are going to negotiate, they might as well aim high.1 point -

I just carry 1000's and 100's and always tip minimum 1000 if special services (for me, not special for them haha) and throw in a few 100 more if they (a) don't discuss money during the massage and (b) provide above and beyond services (showering me, hug at end, generally happy environment.) I have been to the same masseur twice and had totally different experiences on multiple occasions. Sometimes the stars align and sometimes they don't...1 point -

Kind of like Barcelona, many guys seem to put a higher value on their time outside of the saunas....many guys at Lagoa also are online. I'm old fashioned, I like to see, touch, smell and hear how the guy is, not all that is available when hiring online. I've had mixed results from online, ,enough that I prefer in person tons over guessing if they have bad breath or talk like a girl. I guess a video call would help with some of that.....but when given the chance to be in person, I'll do that...is why we pay stupid sauna entrance fees and Thailand expensive drink prices, lol I'm just back from Colombia, with new guys, I'll meet in a public place for a drink 1st to see if there is chemistry....no knocking on the door surprises that are more difficult to back out of.1 point -
Rome
Marc in Calif reacted to bkkmfj2648 for a topic
I lived in Rome for 12 years - up until 2016. The main cruising areas that I knew about were (there are more than 40 of them): Villa Borghese park - not far within the park from the main entrance when walking in from Corso d'Italia (night time after dark) Monte Caprino - near the part that overlooks the Foro Romano ruins (night time after dark) Parco Palombini - this park is in the EUR part of Rome south. In this park I had many fun times. Il Buco Capocotta - out at the gay beach south of Lido di Ostia - good place to meet gays on the beach and to have fun in the dunes Below is a web link that seems to be up to date with lists of bars, discos, and cruising bars. https://www.patroc.com/gay/rome/gayguide.html I can personally speak for the Diavolo Dentro bar https://www.ildiavolodentro.net/ as I used to organize on Monday nights (this was the slow night at the Diavolo Dentro bar) jerk off parties under the group Circolo delle Seghe https://clubdelleseghe.forumcommunity.net/ This bar is more hardcore - but for 6 months I was able to get a nice mix of guys (straight, bi, gay) to all jerk off together. We started with just 12 guys and we peaked at 52 guys - when the owner of the bar took his gay partner and started to fuck him in front of the circle jerk guys and within 5 minutes the bar was emptied and I was banned from the circle jerk group - even though I was not responsible for the bar owner's actions. So, at least for 6 months we had a good thing going that was safe and fun and allowed you to have access to straight guys - as everybody masturbates - why not do it together. I am originally from New York, where we have the ever famous New York Jacks club https://nyjacks.com/ where in the 1980s I would participate in parties of 50 to 100 guys at their weekly jerk off events. I believe the New York Jacks is still functioning. ok, that is all that I can add for beautiful Rome for now.1 point -
