Yesterday's observations. Screwboys now is GoodBoys but according to mamasan that is only change made. Hot Male beer bar street level at 8 .30 more staff than customers. Went to Jupiter with another member at 10.15. Singer was singing trying to.m outscream himself. What waste of talent. After 30.mi uses I was ready to leave but mercifully walkabout started. Lots of new faces, more than half never seen before which I take as good sign. Tipped most deserving for looks in my eyes hoping for some vague smile or at least an eye contact but ot to avail. So one sarcastic may say "all normal ". Had he smiled off would be in the books as I freshly exchanged money. As consolation boy I offed in July last year while sitting with another client , recognized me, smiled and came to shake hands . Made my visit there and restored himself on the "Good guys from Jupiter " list. We were only two farang in audience. At one point I counted 8 guys sitting with customers but only one of them with man. I was hoping to spot three guys but none of them in the roster yesterday. Add to this 4 guys I was hoping to see in Pattaya in previous 2 days, who were also gone at least temporarily and warning comes to mind not to count on seeing guy we are dreaming about before our trip. Show bit more progressive than used to be with ot one but two rigid members presented unobstructively. Former New Twilight and then Queens Club is now @smiles , lesbian bar for tomboys according to handsome guy who emerged from the door. Banana Club packed for the show at midnight but only 3 farangs detected including undersigned humble nobody.5 points

South Korean saunas
Marc in Calif and 2 others reacted to hojacat for a topic
I have a similar experience. Went to Seoul in 2010, after just finishing college and went to this sauna in Hongdae very close to the subway exit .Can't remember the name. It was actually my first gay sauna in Asia. Had read about it on utopia.com. I remember it was decent size and the crowd was really good, many many twinks and I think there was only one more foreigner in there. I had plenty of action. What struck me was that cabins didn't have doors, just curtains so people were going in and out and sometimes turning on a lighter to see who was inside. It was first a nuisance but I got used to it quickly so it didn't interrupt my action. Remember also this big room with row of mattresses where people were fucking in group or just 1-1. Overall it was a great experience and I think I went at least one or two more times. I went back to Seoul in 2018 and wanted to check the sauna again. Not sure if it was the same one but it was still in Hongdae. This one though was really small and almost completely empty. Only 2 people in total. Left very quickly. Sad to hear the ones in Itaweon are not much better. Now, a good Taiwanese friend of mine was with his bf in Seoul last month. He said they went to a place called Cuba. However, it mostly accepts only Koreans, there is even a sign at the entrance. As he can speak a bit of Korean and they are both very good looking (they work as models), they were let in but he said two Chinese guys in front of them were refused entry. He said the place is pretty small though the crowd is quite good. Most of the action happens in a big room with mattresses and people prefer group play. He also suggested another place called "He's" but need to ask if he went there and how was it. Was in Busan in October of 2019 for 6 days. Overall I enjoyed the city but the hookup experience was kinda poor. Only 3 guys, one of which was actually an American teaching English there. A bit surprising for me as I got really busy on apps in Seoul and also quite successful with Koreans around Asia or the US, even though personally they are not in my top 3. Didn't check the sauna, as the reviews were really poor. Glad I haven't missed anything. Last week in Japan, I hooked up with a guy from Busan. He also agreed that for a country with such strong sauna culture, SK really lacks good gay saunas. I guess Korea continues to be very conservative.3 points -

One Night In Bangkok!
jamiebee and one other reacted to macaroni21 for a topic
@pylonguy71 With careful prior research re transport options and locations, you may be able to squeeze in a massage at Arena and then book a boy from Moonlight during your layover. Given your preference for the more muscular types, these may be the least-bad options. I dare not say these are good options, because I don't know what you're expecting. The Asian body is not naturally thick like a European body, so it's much harder for an Asian to get as much mass as a European. What you may notice from this board is that (exceptions permitting) the twink lovers generally prefer Thailand and the muscle worshippers have a bias towards Brazil. @DenverDude is probably right about your luggage being tagged all the way to your final destination, so make sure you have what you need for the 16 hours in Bangkok in your carry-on. Although it may sound like a crazy idea to some others, I have done something similar before, during a 13- or 14-hour layover in Amsterdam, though it was a single cum, not twice. So it can be done. But then, I already knew the layout of the city from previous visits (making navigation much easier) whereas you're saying you've never been to Bangkok before. Arena Massage largely closes by about 9pm. I once made the mistake of getting there around 8pm and there weren't many boys left. But if your flight lands at 3pm, you may be able to make it there by 6pm which I think is their peak hour. This can be followed by a bit of dinner and then off to Moonlight for the show at 10:30pm. Get a boy by 11:30 or 12 midnight and use the short-time rooms at Suriwongse Hotel next door. Leave for the airport around 4am, perhaps? However, I don't think the short-time rooms are available for more than 1 or 2 hours, so it may be better to get a regular room in Suriwongse. It's going to be basic, but probably good enough for a few hours. Alternatively, the Raya Hotel almost across the street from Moonlight (it only has regular rooms, not short-time rooms). To make this work, you will need to understand the locations well, the transport system and have enough cash. It's a little worrying that you're not asking these logistical questions.2 points -
Thailand expands the range of 10 year visas once again
KeepItReal and one other reacted to reader for a topic
From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Newly added to the range of longstay visas comes the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) option for foreign investors in three eastern provinces which include Chonburi. The EEC visa, which allows multiple entries, offers automatic work permit procedures for targeted industries, and a discounted rate of 17 percent income tax for specialists, executives, professionals and (if necessary) dependants. The EEC visa duration is actually linked to the life of the holder’s work permit and is considered an investor type. There is obviously overlap with LTR which, however, is not linked to certain provinces and is much broader covering wealthy retirees, digital nomads with contracts and world travellers as well as executives. The benefits are similar – reduced income tax, avoidance of 90 days reporting and airport perks – but the EEC visa is specifically linked geographically to investment in high-tech industries and sunrise initiatives such as robotics, petrochemical, healthcare, tourism and biotechnology. In recent years, Thailand has diversified its longstay visa regulations to encourage the overseas wealthy to make a base here. These include the Elite visa introduced in 2003, which has had a controversial history, the O/X 10 year visa for retirees from 2016 (not popular because of its bureaucracy) and the Long Term Residence started last year. The new EEC visa also illustrates the growing involvement of government agencies such as the Board of Investment, in addition to the immigration bureau, in the granting of longstay visas.2 points -

I spent a memorable night at Hyandae (I think) sauna in Itaewon years ago. It’s either closed or changed names now. An American soldier and I tag teamed half a dozen or more willing Korean twinks on the mattress. I’ve been back once since and it was very disappointing. I’m in Busan now and I’ve checked out one place. It was basically 4 sleeping rooms surrounded by a corridor. Very quiet and disappointing too. Too be honest I’ve have had very little action since arriving back in Korea. Hardly any hits on Grindr, when in other Asian countries I would get at least some attention:)2 points

Halfway through a massage at Relax in Silom 8, the masseur stops everything (I hate when they do that) and starts negotiating (which I really hate) and says it will be 500 baht extra tip for him to come. I couldn't believe this as I could care less if he comes - that is not my goal here - and asked him to repeat his proposal. He repeated it. I laughed and told him if he comes he owes ME the tip! He didn't come. I did. Don't you love a story with a happy ending?1 point

Hey y'all! So I am here once again with my questions after reading about Colombia on this forum. Hope you can help. 1. For medellin I am finding better hotel deals for Laureles than El Poblado. Is Laureles a safe place to stay? 2. I see that uber might not be the best app, what app do you recommend then? 3. From reading about Colombia, it does not seem like a place where you have GP saunas like Barcelona or Brazil. However, some say Sauna Saint Moritz have 'massuers' sometimes, is that true? and is it true for both locations (medellin & bogota)? Also is there any other GP sauna in Colombia? Thank you 😊1 point

Thanks for these incredibly useful and detailed replies. You’re right about luggage, it will be checked to my final destination, so I’ll just store my carry on at the airport. I’ll use an airport ATM to get enough cash out (any suggestions for the amount for a massage at Arena and an off or two from Moonlight?). I’ll pre-research transport, but was planning to take a taxi from the airport directly to Arena. Can’t wait to finally experience Bangkok!!1 point -

Typically airlines don't hold luggage for more than 12 hours (reclaim rule), especially if it falls overnight...you'd need to collect it and then recheck before the next flight....1 point -

One more thing - do check whether you need a visa to enter Thailand. The airline may call it a layover, but if you want to get past immigration to go downtown, you'll still need a visa unless your country is visa-exempt.1 point -

Tawan Bar in Bangkok Closed: Police Raid Reported
jamiebee reacted to macaroni21 for a topic
I went past about 5 pm yesterday but saw no sign of any work being done inside. That said, while another shop about 2 - 3 doors away had a "For sale/rent" sign on its shutters, Tawan's unit didn't have that, so it's not (yet) for sale/rent? That might be a teeny weeny straw we can clutch on to for the time being.1 point -

One more thing, if you are checking your bags, even with a 16 hour connection, they may be tagged through to the final destination. This was the case for me once on a 14 hour connection (that wasn't in BKK though). You might check with Thai Airways to see what their policy is, you may not need that luggage storage.1 point -

Why don't you just book an inexpensive hotel? The Quarter Silom (right by the Tawan Bar location) is only like $50 a night. Then you would have a place to take your offs, not to mention be able to get cleaned up before you go back to the airport the next morning.1 point -

The cruising area (or the labyrinth as Moses calls it) is actually small compared to other gay saunas in Asia and it gets pretty congested. The cabins are of different sizes, so there is also group action going on in the bigger ones. The only caveat with them: they are no mattresses, only a bolster pillow. It's true that they have a wooden floor but I still recommend doing everything standing up , otherwise you might actually need a Really good massage after playing in there. My favorite is the upper-most floor which is pretty much one big dark room (albeit a bit too dark).1 point

Colombia Specific Questions

I'm in Medellin at the moment... 1. I've always stayed in the Poblado general area only went to Laureles once for a short time motel....seemed ok, but I'll stick to Poblado. The airbnb I'm in comes out to less than 60usd a day after all fees. 2. There is Didi and Indriver but everyone has told me to stick with Uber as it is the safest here....I'll take their word for it even though I use the other platforms in Mexico without incident, don't want to learn the hard way that they might be right. 3. I did St. Moritz in Bog....the selection was limited and with the choices in Mileroticos, Skoka, Grindr.....I haven't felt the urge to go searching in saunas or elsewhere...No GP sauna like in Brasil.1 point -
1. As safe as any. Different vibe compared to Poblado. 2. I only used Über but with no difficulties but limited to the main more distant airport and in-town airport transfers. Otherwise, the efficient Metro, as I have stayed within walking to Poblado or Estadio stations. Or just walked shorter distances as plenty of accessible dining options or more convenient to walk among major sight zones once off the Metro train, example Parque Berrio. Metro to Caribe station for regional bus to Guatapé. 3. St Moritz either city has working trade consistently. I think they are pretty much it but I am likely less ambitious than most in terms of unearthing the full range of options. I wrote up a little about Spa Sexto Sentido in Bogotá; it has some hire options but location off the beaten path. Lengthy but inexpensive Über ride to and from.1 point

It all depends on what your citizenship. some European citizens can enter Vietnam without the need of a visa. if you're Australian as your location indicate, then yes you need to apply for an eVisa. This is the official portal to apply from: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/khai-thi-thuc-dien-tu/cap-thi-thuc-dien-tu Keep in mind that once you apply and get approved, you have a printed copy of the visa when you travel as they will ask for it at the airport.1 point

Nadam (Adam) spa. 25-40 USD massage (depends on massage type) + min 20 USD tips (paying at time of checkout, in room you just fill number in bill). You can't off, only onsite "games". If you are below 60yo and aren't fat, then I advise to visit labyrinths and pool at first, you may get everything for free there - a lot of willing guys. Peak hours are 3pm - 6pm, by weekends - from noon. Gogo not exists in VN, even host bars don't exist. Gay bars and clubs in VN are meeting places. HeeSay is most populated app. Typically, after landing in HCMC, at first 24 hours I receive about 100-120 offers of "massage". Highly advise to discuss service clearly in advance, because you may get exactly massage and nothing besides massage. Prices vary and are negotiable, videocall is a must since HeeSay is known for fake photos in profiles.1 point

Would definitely agree that HeeSay is the app to use in Vietnam. way way more guys in there than on Gridr, both for free or MBs. Actually, during my current trip I got to meet two hot Viet twinks both in HK and Japan through HeeSay. Would suggest getting the premium version as it has a very high amount of ads. Has a few options for premium, but overall is pretty affordable.1 point

Hi Shax, I was in Da Nang for 12 days last month and the number one app for meeting guys was the HeeSay (formerly BLUED) app. The ratio of available guys when compared to Grindr was 200% more found in the HeeSay app. The Hornet app had hardly any people posting. Good luck and enjoy1 point -
that's another issue we face, flying several hours at substantial cost hoping to reclaim it by meeting guy or guys we dreamed about since last trip only to learn they left business and returned home, got married, got drafted to the army , found a job with more permanent foundations or simply disappeared into thin air or even worse, got permanent sponsor who claimed ownership of his time . Even worse and I know about at least one case - boy went out of shape and only remotely resembles one we dreamed about with running away screaming most suitable option.1 point

No dispute that there were more choices in the past. But did most of us really used it? Perhaps expats or people on 3 months vacations. I like it better now because it's now and presents options I can use currently. Boys I was drooling about 10 years ago now are often balding , developing respectable waist size and often trying to forget about their past job. For me no memory substitutes for moment I'm entering bar and spa now, curious as ever what I will find on other side of door . If I dream I rather visualize my first walk next trip through soi 4 toward Jupiter on my way greeted by owner of G'Bangkok or barkers at Banana then recall some exciting first walk through soi Twilight bak in 2015 as much as I miss it. But it's gone . On merit of Sunee it's easy for me as I never really considered the place substitute to my more favorable digs - Boyztown. I liked Good Boys though but still can't say I missed it since it's not there anymore.1 point -
South Koreans become younger overnight
Marc in Calif reacted to reader for a topic
From CNN Seoul, South KoreaCNN — More than 51 million people in South Korea awoke on Wednesday to find themselves a year or two younger – at least, according to the law. Under legislation that came into effect Wednesday, “all judicial and administrative areas” across the East Asian country will adopt the “international age” system used by most of the world, ending years of debate about the problems caused by the formerly common use of “Korean age” and “calendar age.” Standardizing ages will “reduce various social confusions and disputes,” said Lee Wan-kyu, the Minister of Government Legislation, at a news briefing on Monday. The law, passed by South Korea’s Parliament last December, is also expected to “greatly reduce social costs that have been unnecessary due to the mixed use of age standards,” Lee said, adding this had been a major pledge by President Yoon Suk-yeol, who took office last May. Three systems In South Korea, “international age” refers to the number of years since a person was born, and starts at zero – the same system used in most other countries. But when asked their age in informal settings, most South Koreans will answer with their “Korean age,” which could be one or even two years older than their international age. Under this system, which has its roots in China, babies are considered a year old on the day they’re born, with a year added every January 1. In some circumstances, South Koreans also use their “calendar age” – a mash-up of international age and Korean age – which consider babies as zero years old on the day they’re born and adds a year to their age every January 1. Take “Gangnam Style” singer Psy, for example. Born on December 31, 1977, he is considered 45 by international age; 46 by calendar year age; and 47 by Korean age. If this sounds confusing, it is, with daily life in the country often switching between the hodgepodge of different systems. New standard Even with the new standardization, the old systems will still be used in some circumstances, the government said on Wednesday. For instance, children typically enter elementary school in March of the year after they turn 6 years old (in international age), regardless of which month their birthday falls – which will continue. Laws on age-restricted products like alcohol or tobacco will also be based on the year someone is born, regardless of month. This means two people born in January and December 1990 are judged to be the same age. Under this law, people are allowed to buy alcohol starting in the year they turn 19 (in international age). The same method will continue to be used for South Korea’s mandatory military service – meaning people are eligible based on the year they were born, rather than their specific age or birth date.1 point -
The pardon was issued only after the required investigation of the Board of Probation and Parole. Justice delayed is justice denied. He should never have gone to trial. Garrett Foster was an armed terrorist, not a protester. There’s a video clip of Foster saying he was there that night to start a confrontation with someone. Foster was looking for trouble and found it. When a person goes looking for trouble, he will generally find it in short order. Thank you Gov. Abbott. A message to the dirty unkept dems. Do not wave around an ”assault rifle” and expect the public to cower at your feet. You point. Texans shoot. This was clearly self defense from the beginning. Radical DA's need to be voted out. The hateful and violent leftist DA must not only be fired, but disbarred and criminally charged. It is an act of criminal violence to throw an innocent man in prison.
