Some of my go to places, not in any order of preference G's Bangkok Soi 4, nice place, good food and cold beer, nice place to sit and watch the Soi 4 world go by Roadhouse Barbecue corner Rama IV and Surawong, good food and cold beer, a little pricey but still good and the lunch specials are reasonably priced Mango Tree (my favourite) as Daddy415 said delicious food, nice atmosphere, I can't resist eating there several times per trip. Such a pity that the Mango Tree on Yodpiman Riverwalk closed, I used to enjoy a leisurely evening meal and drink there and sit back watching the river traffic flow by Happy Beer Garden across from the Raya on Surawong, cheaper eats than others but still good food and drinks and generally a happy atmosphere4 points

non money boys
chum_soccer and one other reacted to Olddaddy for a topic
I'm currently in Pattaya but haven't been frequenting the bars much I'm more into the challenges of finding non bar boys or those not usual money boys if that makes sense. I'm into gay4pay boys , usually straight even better if they are married. I have cards printed with my LINE ID and Thai telephone number I usually give out to handsome guys in shops etc So I haven't had that much luck in Pattaya like I used to , whether because I'm older or because there's less need for guys to be gay4pay nowadays who knows. But I did meet a handsome boy very sexy in the phone shop in central festival recently early 20's uni student Hard trying to tell him I was looking for sex ,I didn't say it bluntly to him but I thought he got the meaning so gave him my card with number Well that night Saturday night he calls me in good english "Sir I have good phone for you ,Samsung I think you misunderstood me Im looking for sex ! Unfortunately that didn't go down too well 🤣so I need to be more clear in my approach when giving out my number It's not easy sometimes because you are dealing with some whose English is not the best ,unlike Filipino boys On a positive note I met a soccer boy 22yo already married, at a soccer game yesterday in Pattaya Just got talking to him ( wasn't easy as I don't speak thai) and 30 minutes later hand him a card with number Called me late last night and came over still in his soccer gear ! Nice firm ass cheeks and big long cock, and big balls already produced 2 children apparently from his large load , unfortunately had to watch straight porn on his to get it up be he finally did , At first he was very shy or nervous , says he never done it with another man before He covered his look of disgust up as I removed my clothes ,it turned me horny as he pretended not to notice my fat wrinkled old ass Got him to lick my balls ,he said he was good at licking his wife's pussy and I know he was ! Licking up and down under my balls ,he did stop at the crack of my ass though although I felt like I should offer him more to lick my ass but didn't ask him Head down there between my legs face under my balls licking furiously before I thought I was about cum after a few minutes I put my hand on top of his head and pushed down lick my pussy as he 👅up and down under my old daddy balls 🏀 🏀 As he had a erection I quickly got him to stick that youlng horny child bearing cock into my fat old ass I lay on my side as he pushed his dick into my asshole ,it stretched my old anus at first but once he had it my old anus wrapped it tight He started to watch his phone as he pumped my asshole and closing his eyes as he smacked his balls into my ass cheeks I could hear and feel his balls slapping against my cheeks Faster I shouted as he rammed harder in and out I ,J watched in the big mirror facing the bed as he used hip thrusts in out in out faster ! Faster ! He dropped his phone on the bed and closed his eyes and let out a loud moan and looked up at the ceiling as I felt a warm gush in my asshole I cum ! He shouts looking up at the ceiling and spit dribbling from his mouth I get up to see his young cum dripping out of my ass down my legs , filled my ass up it was still dripping out like a tap 💦💦💧 1800 well spent even if if was less than 30 minutes Will post pics later2 points -

I'll respond to my own message in case anyone is searching in the future.... I stopped by this week and the mamasan was very pushy. He asked what type of massage and I said "Oil" and he said "no, AROMA oil, much better, less sticky" and then demanded a "deposit" to reserve my slot 2 hours later... in an empty shop on an almost empty street at 2 in the afternoon mid-week. The whole place smelled like gin and regret (cue Beverly Leslie)... and lots of cigarettes. I ended up leaving and going to Relax, which will be part of my trip report I will write once this jet lag is better...2 points

Brit nabbed for Google reviews
khaolakguy reacted to reader for a topic
From The Thaiger Officers from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested a British man for allegedly defaming an Italian restaurant in Phuket with negative reviews on Google after a two-year long conflict with the restaurant owner. The restaurant owner filed a complaint with the Sakhu Police Station officers after noticing a sudden drop in their Google Maps rating, from 4.9 stars to 3.1 stars. The owner also noticed several new one-star reviews containing negative comments, and one of the comments came from 21 year old British man, Alexander. The owner suspected the foreign man of giving a low rating and negative comments to defame the restaurant. The owner claimed that the reviews contained false and exaggerated information, and several reviews seemed similar, suggesting they might be from Alexander’s friends. According to the owner, Alexander’s action stemmed from a conflict between him and the restaurant in 2022. Alexander frequently used the restaurant’s entrance to access his condominium because it was more convenient than the condo’s official entrance. However, the owner requested that Alexander stop using their entrance as it was reserved for customers and built on private land paid for by the restaurant. The restaurant owner believes the negative reviews were Alexander’s way of getting revenge for being denied access to the entrance. Upon learning about the legal action, Alexander reportedly fled Phuket and hid in a condominium on Charoenkrung Road in the Bang Kho Laem district of Bangkok. Sakhu Police Station officers then coordinated with CIB leading to his arrest on May 8. Alexander was charged under Section 14(1) of the Computer Act: importing false information into the computer system in a way that is likely to cause damages to the public. The penalty will be imprisonment of up to five years and a fine of up to 100,000 baht. He reportedly denied the accusations. A similar story of conflict over reviews was reported in February this year. In this case, an American expat in Thailand faced jail time for defaming the Sea View Resort & Spa Koh Chang and its staff member after writing a review on TripAdvisor about his negative experience at the accommodation. The American eventually avoided jail by issuing an official apology to the resort, even though he was confident in his right to write an honest review.1 point -
Well.my fault ... usually I ask to video call when I get a guy from Grindr Had a guy tonight ,said he was 22 top only etc great pics ,Manish looks When he arrives in walks in a older chubby girlish with a limp wrist ,dark skin man boobs similar to African Asian look and I hsd to ask him to shower just the sweat smell which I said maybe you take a shower he /she refuses He just alked right in my room past me ,just seemed disinterested immediately as I met him at my room door I said how are you ,he replies with a scrunch up face "huh"! Huh ! And walks past me into the room So I knew immediately it wasn't going to work ,no smile just a scrunched up face."huh" with pouty lips and scrunched up face like it was a effort to talk back It was his pics only maybe 5 years ago In short he lasted 10 minutes trying to get a hard on to gay porn under the bed covers yes under the bed covers He just had a bad girlish type attitude Couldn't do it he decided to leave , demands 1200 baht the agreed price, I said no He was a big guy ,much bigger than me and I'm a big guy so I thought he was going to turn on me ,he probably had the strength to fight good , probably about 6"3 I would say and didn't look like that in the pics I gave him 200 baht ,I feel guilty should I have gave him 500 I guess , I was angry, i was ready in case he was going to throw a punch But I was angry he got up to leave first I didn't ask him too , obviously wasn't happy with me talking? But anyway I wasn't happy more his attitude than anything, ignoring my conversation etc I asked why he came ,he said every customer always give him minimum 500 baht , for 10 minutes I guess I don't know My fault though I need to screen them ,but if he just had a friendly positive attitude it wouldn't of mattered I still would of paid him just he seemed arrogant is that thei word? Pouty lips like it was a effort to talk to me I don't mind if he can't get a erection if he was a nice person I don't mind having a conversation but laying in bed with covers up watching porn and ignoring me I actually had to ask him if he was Thai because he couldn't understand me when I spoke Thai ,he looked a cross between African Somalian ? and Thai perhaps?1 point

Drinks, off fee, boy's fee, food, hotel and entertainment, all added up. Off fee and drink used to be much lower, it was fun spending an evening surrounding with youth. This day, I hardly hookup with guy from bar. All the guys, I met from an applications: Local, Indians, Chinese, Russian/Ukraine (free and pay). They are straight forward with their services, $1,500 is market price for both local and international. Be sure to have a video call to confirm the product offer. Still reasonable compare to the west.....1 point

Yes, thanks for pointing out that something can be illegal due to violations of civil code, not simply criminal code. In California, defamation is a violation of civil code, but one cannot go to jail for this: https://www.shouselaw.com/ca/personal-injury/harm-to-reputation/defamation/ "Defamation is an invasion of the interest in reputation. Under California law, it is a broad term for false statements made that cause damage to someone’s good standing. California Civil Code (Cal. Civ. Code) §44 states that defamation is affected by either libel or slander. If a statement is made verbally, it is slander. If made in writing, it is libel. Cal. Civ. Code §45 and Cal. Civ. Code §46 provide the definitions for both libel and slander. In some states, libel can sometimes be charged as a crime and be punishable by a fine and jail time. However, in California, people who have been defamed are limited to their right to recover damages in a civil lawsuit...". In Thailand, defamation can result in criminal penalties: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defamation#Criminal_7 "The Thai Criminal Code provides that: Section 326. Defamation Whoever, imputes anything to the other person before a third person in a manner likely to impair the reputation of such other person or to expose such other person to be hated or scorned, is said to commit defamation, and shall be punished with imprisonment not exceeding one year or fined not exceeding twenty thousand Baht, or both.". One can certainly debate whether defaming someone should result in possible jail time. However, I believe only a madman would argue that defamation shouldn't subject the defamer to any legal consequences.1 point

Defective seats on 8 Thai aircraft
floridarob reacted to Keithambrose for a topic
Sounds fairly typical. I find that Thai are now much worse than in the glory days 40 years ago. They took a very long time to put in decent business class seats, and ordered every conceivable type of aircraft, brown envelopes etc. It was very sad, last year to see 8 777s, and 6 A380s, lined up at Swampy, derelict, with paint peeling off. What a crazy place to mothball aircraft!1 point -

"The person on the other side of the aisle is not an enemy" : Mike Johnson
stevenkesslar reacted to Pete1111 for a topic
I agree Jonson gives an effective look at how politics can work. These days that has much to do with which Repubs are pro-Putin or not. The GOP has as tough a time working with each other as they do reaching across the aisle. The article seemed unbalanced to me in that it was too anti-Biden/Pro-Trump. One might expect that in a Mike Johnson interview. But the "senior moment" accusation was such a softball moment. Politico made it too easy for Johnson to piss on Biden and even easier to give Trump an anal tongue bath. Perhaps Johnson stipulated that he would not entertain criticism of Trump. But that's not balanced journalism. Some say that O'Neill kissing Reagan in the hospital was a made up story. It does sound almost like a joke, as if O'Neill told it one night, after too many glasses of wine. He hated Reagan. A lot of people did. But in today's light, Reagan does seem quite tolerable. Those were the days.1 point -

You touched on the key thing: lies. If you are going to complain, do it by sticking to the facts. Dont embellish or exaggerate. Keep the receipt. I usually also mention that I brought my complaint to management's attention before posting it online and they did not resolve. That way, it carries more weight. Not taking sides one way or the other on the underlying issue here, however, technically Defamation is only a criminal offense in 17 U.S. states. And even in those states, it can only be criminally prosecuted in narrow cases (generally involving malicious and false accusations of sexual immorality) and rarely is ever actually prosecuted. In the rest of the U.S., Defamation is a matter for civil litigation. If this restaurant were in the U.S. it would probably have a good case for a tortious interference lawsuit provided it could prove the individual conspired with other people to leave reviews, knowing they'd never eaten there, and with the objective of interfering with the commercial success of the business.1 point
-
My view: you are entitled to assume he's not a MB. No need ask "how much".1 point
-
Defamation is illegal almost everywhere (including the US, Canada, and, I'd venture to guess, all of Europe), as well it should be. You really think it should be OK to spread lies about someone or his business and not have to suffer consequences? Thankfully, very few people think similarly. I have a strong feeling that you'd be quite upset if someone did that to you. Making factually incorrect statements for malicious reasons is, and should be, punishable by law, probably in most, perhaps all, jurisdictions. It has zero to do with freedom of speech, and I suspect you know this.1 point

It's a challenge some times--but in the end people actually care less than you think they do. As gay men without family ties we have a lot more freedom to travel than a lot of our straight co-workers. A number of them live vicariously through our travels--hence the questions. I'll admit it would be hard to say month after month I'm going back to Thailand or Brazil(weren't you just there last month?"), but at the end of your life when your co-workers are nowhere to be found it's important you pursued the things that made your life happy and not lived your life for them. I'm fortunate in the case of Brazil I practice a sport (kitesurfing) that has world class conditions on the northeast coast so I have a good reason to go there frequently. I always include a stop in Rio or Sao Paulo for a few days "to break up the trip." In the end you'll find your own way to answer(or deflect) their questions but you should pursue your life without guilt or shame and enjoy!1 point

Brit nabbed for Google reviews
khaolakguy reacted to unicorn for a topic
Actually, hurray for the Thai legal system. These obviously fake reviews were defamatory, malicious, and spiteful, lowering the business's ranking from a stellar 4.9 to a dubious 3.1--all because the restaurant owner didn't allow the Brit free use of the restaurant's private property. I hope the restaurant owner gets compensated fairly. And I hope they're able to track down the source of the other fake reviews, and take action against them as well. Freedom of speech isn't a freedom to lie and defame others.1 point -

‘Blossom The Face‘
Ruthrieston reacted to reader for a topic
From Thai PBS World Chananchida “Blossom” Rungpetchrat, discusses her very first acting role in a Thai TV series, how transgender women should be portrayed in an era when people are placing greater importance on gender diversity and inclusivity and, most importantly, how she has been trying to break negative perceptions of transwomen. “I do want to see more opportunities being open to LGBTQIAN+ people, but what I can do for the younger generation is to create a new perception for people to realise that not all transgender people are loud or brash, based on those stereotypes,” says Blossom. Blossom’s journey began as a contestant on “Miss Tiffany’s Universe 2013”. She suddenly shot to fame, however, as one of a few transgender contestants on a famous reality TV show, “The Face Thailand” Season 3 in 2017. Since then, she has been active in the entertainment industry as a model, DJ, beauty influencer, and briefly as a member of a female super-group, 2021 Ratri. Now, Blossom has won her very first acting role in a Thai TV series, “Tum Rub Mae”, which will air on Thai PBS. Blossom will play the role of “Peary”, one of the main actress’s friends, a transwoman who is described as beautiful, smart and confident, which she says, reflects her true self. “This role represents who I really am and I see myself in this character,” she says, adding that she accepted this role because the character represents transwomen in a positive light, in a more realistic way. “The reason I accepted this role is because she’s just an ordinary person simply living her life, not a character that is created to make her look funny or pitiful, she’s an ordinary person, just like me in real life,” according to Blossom. If you mean the other side of Surawong., there are none. If you turned right at the end of the driveway to Tarntawan Hotel, you'll pass by a series of mixed massage shops before arriving at entrance to Patpong. There are five gay venues on Patpong 2. If you turned left at end of driveway, you pass large 7-Eleven. Turn left after 7-Eleven and you're on Soi Tarntawan (home of currently closed Tawan bar). Continue to the end and you'll find Prime Massage at the dogleg turn onto Silom Soi 6. If you continue down Soi 6 toward Silom rd. you'll pass by a half-dozen all-male massage shops. Dorothy's Showbar is open. I spoke to one of the owners just last night. There is a for sale notice on the outside TV. So if you're interested, you can buy it. Tonight there is a big party at Dolce Vita. Toto was there in good spirits. If rumours are to be believed, which is always a bad idea in Jomtien Complex, 4T Bar are planning to close. But that's just street chatter, as of tonight they are open. As far as I am aware, there are 15 odd bars currently "For Sale For The Right Price". BC Bar was for sale for years before they decided to throw the towel in and shut up shop. While some bars might not be doing well, I think it's important to remember that even in low season, some are doing just fine with their regular expats and sprinkling of tourists. It's not all doom and gloom.1 point -

Hi Bert, plenty of guys on the apps (Grindr being most popular) or Hunqz. Torremolinos is the gay capital of Costa del Sol - they have gay hotels, gay bars, saunas etc. - so much that a couple of blocks are called Boyz Town. It's not really a town, just a block or two. The standard going rate is 100 Eur - and all those guys on apps also circulate around the gay bars in Boyz Town. Before covid, there was a bit of an escort cruising scene on a pedestrian sidewalk along the sea as the sidewalk curves around a big rock - there's a gay bar and a gay beach hut there. There were some Moroccan immigrants there and other guys that didn't mind a lower fee - however I did not see that anymore in my several visits since 2020. Malaga and other places along the coast have guys too, but escorts (and gays generally) congregate in Torremolinos mostly. Go online, then go to the bars - and there are lots of escorts in Torremolinos. I'd say 80% of them are on meth which is now by far the most popular party drug on that coast.1 point

One more tip about ATMs that I just learned from one of the Facebook groups I'm in. At a certain point during the transaction, it will ask you if you want to accept the conversion. Apparently, you should say "no". I always said "yes" because I thought I had to in order to proceed. The exchange rate was very favorable from dollars to COP, but apparently, I was getting ripped off and would have gotten a better rate if I'd said no to the conversion. Maybe someone else can explain this.1 point
