Hi guys, Just came back from a trip to Bangkok. It was mainly for work so I did not get to do much with the gogo/massage scene but thought I'd share what I did manage to do. There were two main things I at least wanted to do on this trip; checking out the Tawan situation personally and checking out the Sol bar which I've passed by so many times in my previous trip but never walked in. 😅 I am happy to say that I accomplished both. Tawan On Tawan, I've shared my findings here. Hopefully, that answered some questions a few of the members here had. Sol I checked out Sol just once on this trip. The entrance fee was THB 450. The layout of the bar was quite nice, spacious stage and floor but there's an annoying pillar at the middle-front of the stage which kind of blocks part of the stage depending on where you sit. The boys were a mixed bunch, but most consisted of str8 looking twinks. There were a few older guys who are lean/muscular and there's one guy who, if I'm not mistaken, was from Tawan quite some time back. The show was the usual mix of the drag, sexy show and big cock show (the movements they used for their "sexy dance" is pretty much the same as with most other bars except Jupiter, which makes me wonder if they are trained by the same coach, or if that's just the Thai version of a sexy dance 😅). There were only 2-3 other customers there aside from me, so the boys were trying hard to secure an off (which can be a bit uncomfortable). Overall, it's not my kind of bar but the twink lovers here might actually enjoy it. I'll continue with some brief update Jupiter, Moonlight, Hotmale and Dreamboys a little later.9 points

Visiting Pattaya in July

Apologies......I was about to comment that age has certainly vanquished my "adventurous spirit." For thirty plus, I ached for the unusual and the edgy. Travelling for miles through the West African bush with my (very handsome) friend, Ismaila, to visit a celebrated marabout to receive some sort of magical charm. White people didn't go there and the children were so frightened of seeing a white man they ran away. Nevertheless, I was still invited to a circumcision hut where small boys awaited their fate. Both eye -opening and knee- crossing. Later on in Palestine,, confronting settlers in Hebron and callow, aggressive army youths outside Jerusalem who enjoyed sticking guns in my face. And the kindness, even love, I received in the refugee camps. And there I was, driving through West Kingston in Jamaica in the middle of a political gang war (this was the 70s). OK, it was by accident.... we'd taken the wrong turning and had arrived in Trench Town, of Bob Marley fame. That was scary. Later, my spirit somewhat tamed, I was still anxious to visit places off the beaten rack. In Thailand, some of my happiest memories are of when we rented a car and explored the north... places like Mai Salong and Mai Sai. Now, we stay comfortably in tourist hotels in Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and Jomtien. And our journey to Terminus 21 is the furthest we venture. However, I've no doubts "as the days darken around me" that some of my happiest memories (apart from being with P, naturally) are of those places which were difficult to access and had an element of, well, insecurity and chance about them. Places where I was an outsider, though- and this is crucial- where I was warmly welcomed. Indeed, the more disadvantaged the community, the more kindly was I received.8 points -
'Why Stormy Daniels Is Different'

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report) – In a twist that surprised even the most hardened trial watchers, Donald J. Trump’s hush money trial came to a sudden conclusion on Wednesday after the defendant issued a full confession while soundly asleep. Trump, who had been snoring vigorously all morning, began mumbling shortly after 10 a.m. despite Judge Juan M. Merchan’s admonishment that he quiet down. His eyes still closed, the indicted businessman blurted, “I had sexual relationships with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, then orchestrated an elaborate hush money conspiracy to corrupt the 2016 election.” The courtroom was dumbfounded to hear Trump issue not only a complete confession but also a complete sentence, witnesses said. As Trump’s head bobbed forward and he resumed snoring, his lawyers gathered their papers with an air of resignation and quietly filed out of the courtroom. His lead attorney, Todd Blanche, was philosophical about the trial ending so prematurely, telling reporters, “We probably weren’t going to get paid anyway.”3 points -
Is "Intimacy Director" a new job?
Marc in Calif and 2 others reacted to unicorn for a topic
Well, according to that Wikipedia page, these positions are a fairly new development, developed in the aftermath of the Weinstein scandal: "...In October 2018, television network HBO adopted a policy of using intimacy coordinators for all its series and films with intimate scenes. Intimacy coordinators and workshops teaching best practices for intimate scenes began being used in London theaters in 2018. In January 2019, Netflix released Sex Education, its first production that used an intimacy coordinator, Ita O'Brien." They may have just started using them at the LA Opera. It seems especially silly and wasteful to have such people at the opera (these are not exactly racy scenes), but I suppose the function is to shield the director from liability. More $$$ down the drain.3 points -

Just one observation on the guys. On one of the nights I visited them, most of the boys were not there. I asked the doorman and he said they went to drink and dance at a nearby place. So, maybe we're the ones worrying to much about them? 🤔3 points -
From Pattaya News Thailand continues to experience a record-breaking heat wave, with temperatures pushing power demand to unprecedented levels across the nation. According to the Thai Meteorological Department, more than three dozen districts across the country’s 77 provinces recorded their highest temperatures ever for April, traditionally the hottest month. Some records surpassed previous highs set as far back as 1958. In Bangkok, the heat index, which accounts for humidity, reached a “very dangerous” level above 52 °C, creating extreme discomfort and potential health risks. Meanwhile, the northern province of Lampang recorded a high of 44.2 °C, nearing the country’s all-time highest temperature of 44.6 °C observed in previous years.2 points

Yup. When you wrote that a little over a month ago DJT was at $66. So it has, as of today, lost one third of it's value. Some lemonade! Trump is unique at knowing how to lose. Not him, personally. I mean he excels at turning his MAGA cult into losers. Lose, lose, lose! DJT in consistent. When he didn't lose as bad as people thought he would in 2020, he called it "winning." That led to lots of cops having their heads beat in. Festive! Now that his stock is down only one third, not two thirds, that is "winning" too. That's the DJT we know, and don't love. Or even respect. Loser!2 points -

No real tips or tricks. I found a standalone house in AirBnB in Modelio, which was fine. This time I'm staying closer to Chapinero and again renting a standalone house. It's just considerably more expensive. In Medellin I stayed in an apartment with a doorman and it was a pain having every escort or Grindr hookup sign in.2 points

I think his name is Dee, but not 100% sure. According to him, he's not one of the regulars at Tawan before and would only be there 2-3 times in a week as a model. You can always just go to the guys and choose from those available there.2 points

Managed to off one of the guys. ST tips - 3000, little higher than what I'd normally pay for ST (ard 2500) but taking into account that there's no off fee or drink charges, it's actually cheaper than the usual off. The experience was good, some muscle worshipping and good fun. The former doorman now plays the role of papasan and negotiated the fees for some of the guys who have limited English skills. The guy told me that apparently, the reason for the closure was because of one of the twinks they added in their roaster (who was apparently underage?) which resulted in the owner's name being blacklisted. So, the plan to reopen supposedly now involves a proxy who will use his name instead, and they've supposedly completed inspecting the venue for reopening. Anyway, that's his version of what he heard.2 points

I'd buy SOXL instead. It's an ETF with NVDA, AVGO, all the tech powerhouses. My nephew was recently up close to 10x on the $7 shares he bought in Fall 2022. I made the mistake of listening to the doom and gloom recession mongers in late 2022 and waited until Fall 2023 to jump into SOXL. But as Jim Roppel said recently, the "real money" started to be made starting Fall 2023. And he thinks about half of the money made on this bull will be in AI/tech related investments like SOXL and FNGU. Doesn't it shock you, @EmmetK, that real smart and rich traders and investors are not screaming, "Buy Trump! Buy DJT!" Anyhoo, SOXL just had the inevitable freefall correction from $58 to about $30. I actually sold half of mine in the 40's, at like a 100 % profit, thinking there would be a correction and I'd take some profits and buy back later. And now I will. A LOT. I think by the end of May it may be the $20's. As will DJT. Again. One stock is a big winner. And one is a big loser. Which do you think is which?1 point -

on the merit of dispute it's quite possible that tourist could be right but this doesn't mean he should act way he did and for which he will probably pay dearly. Lesson is , repeated often in travel guides and advisories , that wherever payment is made an absence of actual cash register i.e. store it's better to have an exact change or as minimum when handing the note to say denomination 'thousand baht" or whatever. I noticed even in bars waiters are doing that when receiving larger notes. If one needs to get change it's always 7/11 nearby with necessities like water , soap or KY, in Bangkok also BTS stations are handy to do that ( to get change, not buy KY )1 point

Flew Nonstop on Thai Airways in Business class, old 777-200 tired plane, but still the best, friendliest service going. I did my e- Visa on arrival while in Bangkok and so angry at myself for not noticing an error on my passport expiry date. It self populated from the scan of the passport, but while I scrolled down, I must've changed the date without knowing. The immigration guy was super nice and great English...when he said there was a problem, I thought it was I entered my hotel address as Bali, because in my mind I was going to Bali first. But that wasn't it, was the wrong expiration date of my passport. My option was to do it online again, go to the VOA counter and he said if I had exact Indo cash, I could pay there. He seemed surprised I had IDR, I paid him...I thought it was a scam, but he gave me an official printed receipt and was easy without having to line up again. It was 500,000 IDR ($30usd) cheap mistake but still mad at myself for being so careless. I had forgotten how much time from the airport into Jakarta, 1 hr. Grab was about $20usd. By the time I got into my hotel and unpacked, it was raining, I just watched some youtube and chatted on some apps and went to sleep. Next day I was looking on Grindr and someone in the same hotel on a work trip hit me up...a nice 25 yr old guy sent me his pics, but since he was with a large group of people from his job was really shy about meeting, be we did have fun. The thing that is annoying here, since it's a Muslim country, most everyone is deeply in the closet. Using fake profile pics or old pics. When they do send you a pic, it's always an expiring one....Lots of free action and massage guys. One guy asked for a million and I laughed at him, everyone else was 400k-500k.$25-32usd. Did a live chat with a 26 yr old, looked latino to me and we made plans to come over. I'm staying at the DoubleTree and they have an executive lounge with free drinks....he's not a big drinker but had 2 beers and got tipsy, cheap date! He gave a 2 hr amazing massage and GREAT sex....he came about a liter, or so it seemed. He said he hadn't had sex in a long time. This is the advantage over Thailand, where sex is like a job, here it's a treat 😁 I ended up going with him again 2 more times...why keep searching when you found something so good? No expensive drinks, no crazy off fees but not as convenient as Thailand. The gay disco Apollo that I went to last time here, has closed, Covid victim. He said there are a couple of places frequented by gay guys...the cover is about $15usd , is a little far from my hotel, no thanks. Indonesia is so affordable....I had a fat attack and wanted McDonald's, the food was piping hot and fresh, a double cheeseburger combo mean and a filet o fish sandwich was $5....that would easily be $15 is Thailand or USA. One Grab motorbike ride was 35 cents USD and another was $1,01. While walking in the street, almost everyone looks at me, like I'm an alien, kind of strange, but there aren't many westerners here, especially walking in the streets. Tomorrow I'm taking the luxury executive train to Surabaya, even fewer westerners I'm told. Is an 8 hr tip but in a business class type lie flat seat. The sights look nice from the videos I've seen, but I'm sure a couple of hours into it I'll be thinking, why the fuck am I doing this, lol1 point -

I'm in Tokyo now. Thanks to all these valuable tips, I had fun this evening. Used "Independence" as recommended. You can just send an email. No need to use the elaborate form. The location was not on a back alley, but just about twenty yards from the train station exit on the street that runs parallel to the train route. Otherwise, Draden's account above of his experience with Independence was identical to mine. . I took the ¥ 18,000 option ($115 thanks to the very weak yen) for a one-hour "swap": 30 minutes with one young man, then 30 minutes with a second one. The price is all inclusive and covers the room and all fees. No extra tip is expected. Both guys were good at kissing and sucking. Both were good bottoms, although one was small and extremely tight. One looked like his photo. However, the second guy was 6' and looked nothing like the 5'9" Dylan I'd picked, but he did speak fairly good English as was claimed for Dylan. And he was enthusiastic and talented. I was erroneously thinking that the cost in Tokyo was wildly higher than the cost in São Paulo. But on reflection, that is not true. At Lagoa my total for the entry fee, two rooms, and two garotos could easily be 600 reals ($116, almost exactly the same price I paid in Japan this evening)! Of course, in Brazil we get to do more preliminary screening — but that does not always guarantee the ace performances I got tonight in Japan. I still prefer Brasileiros and their saunas, but I'm happily surprised that my days in Tokyo will include some good company in bed.1 point -

The JC to Central journey in the early evening often took over forty minutes last November owing to the never-ending roadworks. In March it was better, perhaps thirty. Occasionally even less. If you go during the daytime, twenty minutes is the average in my experience. Much the same as the return to the JC. It's a d**n nuisance but we don't find the JC at night as interesting as central Pattaya. However, I must add that the Jomtien promenade at sunset is fun with a couple of decent places to eat as a change from Dick's. Better than Pattaya's in fact. And no business girls. I like seeing the women do their dance-exercises to music- often fifty of them- and admire the occasional elderly falang who tries courageously to participate! I've said before that the atmosphere there is almost Mediterranean. Not just falangs but Thai families.1 point -

That is too funny! From studying the volume of this thread, the preaching seems to be coming from those shilling in favor of barebacking and glossing over the risks. I am just wondering if folks are honest with themselves about the risks, to them and their partners. Not to put too fine a point on it, but we older guys are one foot in the grave - but our younger partners have a long life ahead and they may end up dealing with the outcomes of high risk behavior for a long time. In my book, they deserve better. You do you. But be honest with yourself about the impact of high risk behavior. Amen.1 point -
