As one of those who regularly post trip reports here I can't leave that without answer because your post tickled me a bit and wrong way at that. No, I did not take it personally simply because in my reports you will not find narratives you described " I got fucked and then boy fucked me on the window ledge ". But that is because it's my personal choice believing those details should be left out for privacy reasons, more so of boy's even than mine , not because there's no market for that type of reports. Quite opposite as we can easily measure by numbers of visits threads are receiving , not to mention emoticony reactions. We can easily see that more juicy threads , whatever it means , even lacking any graphics like mine, are visited much more often than even most photogenic touristy ones , no to mention food and shopping related. That is simply nature on the forum. Readers are looking for leads and comments on sexy places , it's why they are visiting and it is what makes that forum both unique and useful . Info about restaurants and hotels can be found in many places , about off fees at Dreamboys only on few forums including this one. As for midnight mass relation , surely it could be interesting for both churchgoers and those who are not but also there's danger , since politics , money and religion are such heat generating subjects that thread may turn into nasty discussion about religious believes , practices and figures. That may go against what actual attendee of mass intends to trigger. Speaking about church matters and in line with your suggestion I advise everybody to visit Holy Redeemer church in soi Ruam Rudi, walk distance from Silom ghetto diagonally across Lumpini park, perhpas 15 minutes walk from Rama VI monument if not less . Architecture is not churchy , it looks like most Thai temples , only cross atop indicates that it's the church. Second reason are stations of the cross which everywhere are divided into 14 sections while there are two panels , one on each side of church containing 7 stations seamlessly connected and flowing into next one . I never saw anything like that anywhere Other thing which needs to be mentioned and floridarob said it already above. While all criticism is welcomed and may actually help to make posts and reports more readable it would immensely add credibility to critique if complainers were known for their own contribution . It's one thing and easy at that , to complain about posts being boring and repetitive or whatever but another to try to put together one itself. Trip reports are very time and effort consuming and even if we don't read them we should be happy somebody is kind enough to share his vacation adventures , whatever their nature are. Even if sexscapades are not interesting it's always good to treat report as receipt for fun filled vacation. Happy to report that after writing it blood pressure is back to normal 130/7410 points -

There are 2 opposite sides on the Scala travelers who come to Thailand purely for tourism purposes against travellers who come only for sex trading, most of us are somewhere between these, for old men trying to find desent sex on reasonably rates at their own countries it's almost impossible so traveling to countries like Thailand where you can find sex and company with gorgeous guys on relatively very cheap prices is an excellent reason to visit this country so what's wrong with that ? What do you suggest @Marc in Calif older people should stay in their countries miserably do nothing till they die in sorrow? Your comments are totally b***it & hypocritical and contributed nothing useful to this forum.4 points

Vinapu hit the nail on the head. Generally speaking, people come to this site for information about the sex-related aspects of travelling (whether Thailand, Brazil, Barcelona, or wherever). More specifically, about the opportunities to buy sex 😛. This is the "unique selling proposition", as they say in business, of this forum. Inevitably, a forum such as this attracts a tiny minority of visitors who see an opportunity to get all moralistic (or racist). It's like walking into a cutting-edge fine-dining restaurant and scolding diners for spending top dollar for food when there are people elsewhere living from hand to mouth. Like all instances when people do that, it is subconsciously so that they feel superior to others. (Or because they cannot afford fine-dining 😉). They seldom realise how moralism, racism and holier-than-thouism look to others (tip: not a pretty picture). Therefore, posters on this forum are not equal. I think many of us instinctively categorise posters into two kinds: those who make trip reports and have useful information to share, and those who don't make trip reports and have nothing but their egos on display. Phew, now that I've said it, I feel better too!4 points -

you are correct but still some on PREP boast about barebacking like PREP would be cure-all treatment . Worst part of such attitude is lack of consideration for their partners who often agree to unprotected sex out of false sense of security or real sense of financial need.4 points

Since the poster was talking about Taiwanese Chinese but you launched into a racist drivel about chinese in general, i can safely assume that you are a racist prick. In this case, if you don't want to see Chinese, especially in SEA with its huge chinese population, then go stay in a cave in Antarctica with penguins for company.4 points -
Trip Report - BKK, Chiang Mai, Pattaya
traveller123 and 3 others reacted to omega for a topic
You guys are funny So my hotel booked me a taxi to Jomtien. 1200baht, seemed like a good deal to me, especially since the trip back to BKK was 1600. So on arrival at Jomtien, I check into hotel, and go for a little wander to find the beach and see the area. On walking past one of the massage shops in the complex, I'm grabbed at by multiple boys... clearly the boys are far more forward here! I carry on walking trying to smile and shake my head and say no. On my return, I spy out Sophia's thai, and a couple cafe/resturants opposite, and make note for food later. My favourite thai food is 'pad gra pow'... and if you ask for not spicy, they simply leave out all of the chillis, If you ask for a little spice, you get all of the spice. So my first night, I go around the Complex, checking out all the bars. It's busy because its christmas eve, seems like everyone is out. As I'm wandering through several of the bar boys try to grab me to pull me into their bars. One even gives me a bear hug and wont let me past. I was cold sober at this point, and I'm a pretty shy reserved guy. Stangers grabbing and hugging me uninvited is not what I call fun. I eventually find a bar that looks a bit quiter with a good seat to people watch. After some time, I get a message from the boys I saw it BBK, they're sitting at the bar nearby and invite me over. I sit for drinks and get to know them all better. At the end of the night, I go back with one, I'll call him M, and M certainly wasn't just a beautiful face. He was defintely worth every baht of his tip. He leaves after, and I go to sleep satisfied. The next morning I take a little trip over to Terminal 21 to wander the mall and see if there is any good sales on. I find a couple of nice things, and head back to the complex. After a swim and a rest, I'm ready for night 2. I run the massage shop gauntlet again to get some food, then I decide to go to the Venue for the show. After enjoying the awesome show, I end up back drinking with M and his friends. I go back to hotel alone though. The following day I spend relaxing by at the beach and by the pool, and of the evening, I eat then join M and friends for drinks. We end up playing drinking games, and M asks me to take him back to the hotel, and thats where we go. After some good times were had, we both head back to join the others for more drinking and games. M wants to stay with me the night, and I say yes. I leave to your imaginations what we got up to. At this point, M is starting to refer to me as his bf... which would suprise none of the more experienced members here I'm sure. It's my last full day in Thailand, and I spend most of it with M, relaxing at the beach and having lunch. Of the evening, we part company for a while, before meeting up again. I want to see the Venue show again, and M comes along. He's really not into the show at all, but I'm enjoying it... technical issues and all My last night I spend alone as I needed to be up early for the flight home. I had thought this would be my last ever trip to LoS... but I think I've been convinced that there is still much more for me to enjoy there. Thanks for reading4 points -

I appreciate the variety on this site, just as I enjoy the variety of experiences offered by my many (eighty plus) trips to Thailand. I suspect that, were reports from bars the only content, I'd be an occasional visitor only and not a contributor. But they're not. We explore issues that are more applicable to the wonderful times I spend there...tourism and hotels, eating-out, travel, culture, history Including that of the gay scene, politics and the joys and tribulations of relationships with our beautiful hosts. Regarding that final one, this is the only forum on which I can discuss my own relationship openly and without provoking rancour. And that's precious to me.3 points -

Funny how those who never write trip reports are complaining and dictating what should be written, while those who contributed their time and effort getting critised by these few holy spirits who thinks they are better than everyone else. There is a saying in my language that loosely translated to "whoever eat the chilli, feels the heat" but i am not aiming this to anyone. And back to the topic, is it a surprised that gay forum are slow now? Re original gay bars in Patpong Two. I should have referred to Screwboys as the last remaining of the original gay bars on that street. It was nostalgic to visit anyway. Freshboys Had a drink there. More spacious than Screw Boys. 25 to 30 guys available on stage, a lot on stage at one time. Some 20 customers there too. Drinks 450 Baht. Brief show at 2215 with three sexy shows, big cock etc, and only one drag show with one performer(and no sign of any others waiting in the wings). Similar twinky types to Screwboys and bf thought that 30% of them were Vietnamese. Good playful atmosphere and if you are looking for gay boys this may be a good place to visit. One thing that we noticed was how light skinned the guys were in the bar(and in hindsight also in Screwboys). Really only one darker skinned guy there. It used to be that brown skinned guys were the majority, and guys from Isarn were much in demand. Perhaps there is a commercial motivation to satisfy Asian customer preferences for lighter skins, which is compounded by shortage of available local guys. Give me an Isarn guy anytime! Hotmale Also visited Hotmale, seemed to be around twenty guys, comfortable in their own skins and to be on stage, more guys on the hunky side than Freshboys or Screwboy. It’s a good layout and well lit/staged. Although we were shown to our ringside seats, we were never asked for our drinks orders, which was fine as we weren’t in a rush to drink more. Whole bar was focussed on an Asian table who were supplying drinks and 200 Baht to all the dancers and the waiters and then the doormen. And then anyone wearing Hotmale branded shirts. There may have been some swapping of clothes going on outside the door to allow others to benefit! After 15 minutes we left satisfied to have seen what was on offer and had a(much cheaper) drink at Dragon beer bar down stairs.3 points -

Hi All, I thought I'd share with you briefly some of my experiences over the last couple of weeks in the LoS. As a spoiler to avoid disapointing, I'll say it was not a sex-filled escapade, though some spicy action did happen (which of course, I shall describe) I arrived in BKK feeling pretty fresh faced, all things considered. Taxi prices from airport seem to have gone up... 600baht said the Taxi Driver! After some firm negotiation, that mostly involved me saying no to his flat fee, and saying I would get another taxi, he agreed to use the meter. I pay express tolls and baggage fee. Not a problem. (For those interested: To my hotel in Silom, Meter was at ~300 baht, tolls were 100 baht, + baggage was 50 baht I think. I left him with 500 baht.) I checked in to the hotel, unpacked, had a nap before heading out fairly early for the evening to find something to eat. I checked out Soi 4, which seemed super busy and a little overwhelming. So I took a wander through Patpong, and soon found myself at the Foodland there. Much quieter for me to settle down in to my holiday. I wandered back to Soi 4, and sat outside Stranger bar for a couple of drinks, checking out Grindr, and acclimatising to the hustle and bustle. I wandered up the Soi, and found myself wandering into Bipolar, above the bar on the corner. It was busy and the drag show was passable, the "hostess" being australian, so very easy for me to understand. Following a few drinks in Bipolar, I wandered along to see what was happening in DJ station. Much has changed, and I was a little surprised and happy to see its new layout. It's much easier to wander around the club now, and sample everything each room has to offer. I stayed here for a few drinks, dances for a bit and caught a few smiles. For someone who's been living a very quiet life, it was quite the night to wake me up!2 points

Thanks for your lovely report. It is unfortunate that your first ever gogo bar experience is with a new bar that are struggling to get things right. They didnt have enough young and attractive boys to begin with, and falls flat with their unimaginative and repetitive shows. Only good thing about sol bar is their waiters, which i believe are previously gogo boys and most of them are offable at a higher off fee. Your second gogo bar is in chiang mai, where the offerings falls flat too in my opinion. Judging by your reports, i gather you prefer gay/effemenate/nonbinary type twinks? If so, pattaya jomtien is defiinitely where most of them are. If i may add, sunee winner bar, classic bar (reincarnate of cupidol) and toy boy might be more up your alley for gogo bar with your type. In bangkok, freshboy and screwboy would be your best bet, with banana trailing a bit behind. U might find some in dreamboy too as they have all kind of guys there. Hotmale beer bar waiters, and waiters at other gogo bars are usually offable too. Anyway, hope you will find more guys that interest you more especially those hot boys and dj and god. Ive never been there as its not my scene. U could also try sauna as well, not my scene but ive been there once or twice hehe.2 points

Oh no, you've got me wrong. I think their business model is fine, and I totally understand the obviously regular stream of clients they get (mostly local, I would think). As a group, the Saphan Khwai cluster is doing better than the massage/brothels of other districts. All business models comes with risks. The important thing to do is to identify them and take mitigative action. What I am saying it that individually, no shop has optimised its marketing communications to get ahead over its competitors in the same area, or improved its facilities enough to gain an edge. Yeah, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to getting bsuiness right. That said, marcomms-wise, the massage businesses are way ahead of the gogo bars who have either absent social media presence or poorly-aimed ones highlghting ladyboys dressed in excessive finery. Pricing-wise, the massage parlours/brothels are also a lot smarter. Facilities-wise, look at some of the gogo bars' toilets - how do they even compare with the massage parlour facilities?2 points -
"Sexually active people can get syphilis through vaginal, anal, or oral sex without a condom with a partner who has syphilis." Source: STD Facts - Syphilis (cdc.gov) It seems to me that it's fashionable for (desired by) many in the gay community to have unprotected sex (i.e., without a condom). Someone can give every appearance of being clean but still be contagious. "No other STI combines incurability with near-100% lethality in the absence of treatment as HIV does. But other STIs can have serious health consequences. The bacterial STIs – gonorrhoea, syphilis, chlamydia and chlamydia’s ‘superstrain’, lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV), as well as other infections like Mycoplasma genitalium (MG) and trichomoniasis – are generally easily curable but may have serious health consequences in some people if left untreated. Syphilis may also cause serious symptoms in early disease, and drug resistance in gonorrhoea is of considerable concern. Source: PrEP and sexually transmitted infections | aidsmap For a long time now I've thought men on PrEP have been lulled into a sense of security, that it's safe to have any unprotected sex. The next day I woke up when the morning was already done, and decided to go shopping to pick up a few bits I'd not brought with me. After a power nap back at the hotel, I wandered out to find something to eat, then made my way to Soi Patpong 2. Sol bar was the first that I came accross and in I wandered. My first time solo in a gogo bar like this. I picked a seat right at the back, by the door. A nervous newbie, I wanted to be able to make a quick escape from the Mamasan I ordered my first drink, and managed to convince the Mamasan that I didn't need a boy to sit with me right away. The boys on stage were a good mix of twinky types and more muscly men. One stood out for me, and clearly my eye had been on him quite noticably, as when the boys evacuated the stage, he came over and after a brief chat I felt oblioged to invite him to sit and have a drink. He said his name was Nam, and he was from Vietnam. He was super cute, and very engaging, asking me lots of questions, tho relying on translater app quite a bit. Since I was here on an exploratory trip, I hadn't come with the intention to off; tho I did bring 100 notes thinking that I would at least have a boy sit with me. After my second drink, my feet were getting itchy. I could get a similar experience of chatting via phone messages in a bar that charged less for the same beer. I'm sorry to say, but solo in a GoGo bar, just doesn't seem to be a hit with me. But It might have been my nervousness and anxiety, so (spoiler) it wasn't my only forway into a GoGo bar this trip. Nam and I would continue to chat via Line, but would not meet again while I was in BKK this time. After leaving Sol, I looked around at the other Go Go bars with the assortment of boys hanging around outside smoking, and decided that I wasn't in the mood for another GoGo bar, and took myself off to DJ station for another night. I like DJ station, and pretty much every night I was in BKK I ended up here. Once more, I left alone, but not without scoring a cheeky kiss and dance or two. The following day, I met up with my ex, who I had not seen for 3 years. We had a late lunch, and wandered around the new EMSphere shopping mall. We agreed to meet again later for more drinks in DJ station. Again I left DJ station and went back to my hotel alone. The following day, I was due to go to Chiang Mai in the evening, so after checking out, and leaving my bags in storage, I went for a massage at Prime. One of the best massages I've ever had, and at decent price, definely would recommend. I arrived at Chaing Mai quite late that evening. I wandered to the nearest 7/11, got some drinks and snacks, and had an "early" night.2 points

The biggest and alarming incidence escalation is in congenital syphilis, therefore the increase is considerably disproportionate among women of childbearing age. That skew alone reveals little in terms of MSM rate trends and their reproductive crossover. In terms of gonococcal infection prophylaxis research the Meningococcal Group B vaccine (Bexsero) placebo-control trial underway, with results still a few years off, now has recruitment in 2 Bangkok locations.1 point -

The photo is not the clearest, but good enough to make out that Apollo Massage now lists a guy of African ancestry. What is interesting though is that the requested tips are 3,000 baht for 1 hour and 3,500 baht for 1.5 hours, (I presume in-house). Not only are Apollo guys generally asking for higher tips than the Saphan Khwai places, as seen from their Line app sample, Dre is asking for twice higher. (Explanation: He is said to be 1.80m tall, weigh 78 kg and fits a condom of size 56, and he is top) Most boys advertised by Apollo offer three tip levels, e.g. "15/17/25" where the third figure indicates an outcall rate, but not this guy. Maybe no ID, so too risky to enter hotels? You can see my November 2023 review of Apollo here: https://shamelessmacktwo.travel.blog/2023/12/10/easy-come/1 point -

that is exaggeration although I can see where your sentiment may came from. Visit to Bang Melea temple near Angkor I recall as one of my worst experience in travelling due to two busloads of Chinese who filled place, expected to be serene specially in the morning, with screams , tried to move some stones and behaved like Huns attacking Rome indeed. But to their credit at least they rose early. Chinese girls sometimes in bars , BBB specially comes to mind behave equally noisy scaring a lot of patrons in process. But there's beneficial reverse to all that. Travelling Chinese are crowding our bars ( on one on my visit in Tawan in July I was under impression it was only two us farangs in crowded bar) , buing drinks, tipping and offing boys and hanging all those stupid 1000 baht garlands on them. Some may be stingy but plenty are not as I was told they like to show off. I witnessed twice boys on the stage were tipped 1000 baht just for standing there and in both cases those tippers were Chinese looking girls . In short they are helping to keep afloat businesses we are frequenting too so hold your nose. For fun I checked Grindr today and it seems there are tons of them ready to party today and go home on Tuesday. So many listings that it seems they crowded out local who I presume don't need to advertise for a moment boys because they are harvesting all those Chinese clients.1 point

Actually, I would find that a rather pleasant change from yet another, "I got fucked in massage parlour X, then I got fucked in massage parlour Y, and then I got fucked in massage parlour Z and then I went home and found a boy on Grindr who came over and fucked me in the shower and then I found a boy on Hornet who fucked me on the dressing table and then I went on Blued and found a boy who promised to fuck me on the window ledge (but never showed-up) and then I went out to get fucked again and I got fucked...again." No, that isn't directed at any poster in particular. My point is simply that if some posters are only posting those parts of their reports that involve them getting rammed and jammed because they think no one would actually be interested in reading about their other activities in a trip report, I think they will be pleasantly surprised. Many readers would probably be interested in reading a fuller trip report. Considering how much Bangkok, and Thailand, have to offer, it would be difficult not tell an interesting story when posting a fuller trip report. While the mention of "church attendance" above was obviously an attempt at being witty, I actually think that a description of midnight mass in Bangkok would be an interesting read if anyone ever did post something like that - or of anything in particular that struck the poster during "aimless wandering through Chinatown steets just for fun of it." Sex is certainly a big part of many people's holidays in Thailand, but surely there is more to it than that for most? On the other hand, if someone's "trip" does actually consist of little more than being fucked in the arse repeatedly, then I suppose that is what they are going to be posting - and there is obviously a market for that sort of highbrow material here too.1 point -

My first full day in Chiang Mai, I spent exploring the old city, visiting lots of temples and drinking a lot of coffee. It was pretty enjoyable and very chilled. That evening I went to the night bazaar, and had some food from the very many vendors there. I wandered around looking at the usual trash sold to tourists, then decided to check out the local bars. I was staying very close to RAM Show bar, and there were a couple other bars on that street that looked pretty dead and empty. So I went to Ram. And glad I did. The show was pretty damn good, the dancer boys looked very sexy and I got chatting to a lot of people. The next day I went shopping at the local mall, and did some more temple exploring. That evening I went to Adam's Apple club. The Mamasan was very chatty, but managed to say all the wrong things to me; explaning at legnth about how all the boys are from poor families. I think he wanted to guilt me into parting with all my money to help them, but in the end it kind of reinforced my internal biases on how exploitative the industry can be. Yet, despite this Mamasan did manage to find me one of the boys who spoke good english, so at least I could have a good conversation. I will say that the boys at Adam's Apple did seem like they were having a bit more fun that the bored looking souls I saw in Sol in BKK. They were very much up for a laugh during the cock show. A good mix of twinky boys and hunky guys, but honestly not one as good looking as Nam, and none that I would have offed. This would be the last GoGo bar I visit this trip, and maybe, ever. I just don't think they're fun. I would however, very much recommend Adam's Apple if GoGo's are your thing. After paying my checkbin, and tipping the concerned parties, I headed back to Ram bar, catching the very end of the show and the slow exodus of customers after. I think I need to point out at this juncture: my thoughts, opinions are about what I think is right for me. Not whats right for anyone else. Just because I don't find something fun doesn't mean I think no-one else should find enjoyment in it. The following day I planned to go for a hike up to the temples on the hill, but I was just lazy. Instead I lazed most of the day in bed, before hunger took me out for lunch. After which, I decided I would try a massage with extras. I chose Classic House because it was fairly close to the hotel, and operated on a walk in basis. I opted for a Thai Massage, and that apparently reduced my options of massuese to just two boys. I picked the more handsome, and we went up to the room where I shed my clothes and showered. The massage itself was fairly good, and when it came time to do happy ending, I just wasn't turned on, so declined his ministrations. He finished up the massage, I tipped generously, and left. Needless to say, the evening found me back at Ram's enjoying the show once again. Different show each night... amazing. I also had big crushes on a couple of the dancers; so that might have been the main reason The following day, I went on a group tour around Doi Inthanon National Park, visiting a Hill tribe that grows some superb coffee, the two Pagodas for the King and Queen and visited a waterfall. A very nice day, highly recommend. Again I ended up in Ram's and for the last night managed to chat with the dancer boys I had a crush on. Alas my sex drive just wasnt there to help me seal the deal, and take them back to the hotel. My last day I ventured back into the old city for a bit, and took a massage in one of the temples, before collecting my bags and flying off back to BKK, where things start to get spicier for those of you hoping for more sordid tales.1 point

I'll be in SDQ mid January 2024. Any forum members there at the time; be sure to hit me up! On topic: my preference would be an Airbnb. I don't use one with security, but one where you have private street acces to. I don't want any nosy interference from service staff. However, I must stress that it is a personal choice after traveling many time to South-American destination and being able to communicate in Spanish. I do not in any way say that having a reception that is checking ID's is luxury or a useless thing. Not at all! I simply find it hard to know in advance if a place is open to the fact that you receive visitors. Finding out in advance is a must. You don't want to end up in a place with a North-Korean style surveillance and security team! There are some ground rules for sluts like us when it comes to having fun with South-American/Caribbean studs in your Airbnb regarding to safety: 1. Always make sure that your most valueble items are well locked and stowed away. Passport, credit cards, the bulk of your cash money. The travel safe from Pacsafe (no sponsoring) keeps my mind at ease. I do however alway have some cash present to give a guys some extra for a taxi; just to smoothen the process. This besides any pre-negotiated deal. 2. For any first meeting (e.g. via Grindr) be sure to meet outside in a public place. After you've been with a guy you can invite them directly to your place. 3. Always ask for their 'cédula', their ID card. EVERYONE from the RD has to carry one at all time by law! If a guy doesn't present a cédula or has a bullshit story of loosing it, abort your slutty mission instantly. Trust me: it is bullshit and they have something to hide. You check this as you meet them as described in point 2. My advise is to make a photo of the cédula and email it to yourself directly. If anything dodgy occurs, at least you have the copy of the cédula in your (G)mail history. I tell my studs I have to 'register their visit to my building owner' when I email it. It is common practice to ask for a cédula btw and it's not frowned upon. 4. Mention the security cams of your building, even if you don't have them... 5. Last but not least: listen to that little voice in your head...not that horny voice in your dickhead... If a guy is too good to be true; than he is just that. If a guy looks dodgy, he probably is and so on and so on... Now, street cruising is a big part of my Santo Domingo Colonial Zone day entertainment. I do pick up some prime meat from the streets occasionally and do a test drive with them at an hourly hotel. The guys know where to find them. There is one close to Paco Cafetaria (Grand's) called Hotel Bella Mar. I's sleazy...but hey...so are we. This is a very safe option keeping some distance between you and the guy. If you like him you can always follow the steps above. *tap on wood* I have thus far never encountered a bad situation where I had (serious) safety concerns. Don't think that my guard goes down because of that. It doesn't. But following the required safety rules keeps you much more relaxed in your adventures. And yes, at least learn some Spanish to get by!1 point
