Seeking Must-Have Line App Contacts for My First Trip to Bangkok!
ChristianPFC and 2 others reacted to Gaybutton for a topic
What I do is first find boys that interest me on the apps. If the chat goes well and I am still interested, I ask if he has LINE. Almost all of them do. Then I ask for his LINE ID and I give him mine. If it is a boy I've met personally, such as a bar boy or someone I simply met by chance, we trade LINE IDs right then and there. Something I've never figured out is I get many boys I've neither met nor ever heard of who add me to their own LINE, and the app says they added me by phone number. I have no idea how they got my phone number, but there it is. If it is someone who interests me, I go ahead and add him. I can always block him later if need be. If the person does not interest me, I don't add him and I don't chat with him. Be prepared to handle the pleas for money. I don't get many of those, but I do get them. I usually won't give them any money because one thing I've learned the hard way, living in Thailand, is if you give the boy money once, now the pleas for money never stop. Sometimes I'll come up with some excuse and sometimes I'll just say "Sorry - NO." The boy usually tries to argue about it, but that does him no good. Not with me, anyway. The two most common pleas I get are "I not have money for eat" and "I not have money for pay for room" In all the years I've lived here I have never seen a boy starve to death and I have never seen a boy lose his room. If I do give money, it is only to a boy I really like and have known long enough to know he is telling me the truth. Bottom line is be very careful about who is getting your LINE ID.3 points -
Migrant propaganda is being used across the west at the moment to generate hate against migrants and energise their voters. While there are countries that have a very real problem, it isn't generally the ones who are simply using it to promote their far right agendas.2 points

Does anyone know what has happened to Asean Now(previously Thai Visa)?
Ryanqqq and one other reacted to Department_Of_Agriculture for a topic
Who is behind the DOS attack on the ASEAN Now (previously known as Thai Visa) forum this week? Thailand’s largest expat forum has been inaccessible since early afternoon Thursday Thai time and as at the time of publishing this column, it has yet to come back online. In response to email, ASEAN Now explained that the outage is due to a DOS attack (denial of service). These sorts of attacks are typically the work of someone with an axe to grind – of which the forum seems to have plenty of potential candidates – or in the case of big businesses, may be a blackmail attempt. https://www.stickmanbangkok.com/weekly-column/2023/11/stickman-weekly-november-19-2023/2 points -

Wether something is overpriced is highly subjective. It depends on how much money you have, how much you like Thai boys, and how horny you are.2 points -
Don't be so pissy. Chill. This is how forums work. They all go off topic. It's how conversations work. You start a conversation, but don't get to dictate what everyone says or how the conversation drifts. People were trying to be helpful, or just commenting and you act like everybody has taken a dump in your corn flakes. Take the advice, or ignore it, but but getting up in arms because somebody gives you advice you can't use is kinda silly.1 point

Will you see extremely long movies with no intermission in the movie theater?
unicorn reacted to kokopelli3 for a topic
My experience with some long, boring cinemas is you can take a break for 10 or 15 minutes and never miss anything. In some instances even an hour break would not make much of a difference. Of course that is not the case with all long cinemas.1 point -

Finland Closes 4 Russian Border Crossings
Marc in Calif reacted to unicorn for a topic
Yes, that link does confirm that Russia does, indeed, have a fence all along its border with Norway: "...On the Norwegian side there are no physical hindrances on the border and it is permitted to move all the way to the border itself, except for Storskog, Skafferhullet, and some hydro power stations, where there are fences where roads reach the border. On the Russian side there is a fence located anywhere between 0 and 5 kilometers (0 and 3 mi) from the border. Although not electrified, it has sensors which will notify the border controllers if touched. The fence stretches the entire distance between the Barents Sea and the Gulf of Finland and was built during the Cold War to keep in the population of the Soviet Union. It remains the only barbed-wire fence along a Russian border in Europe...". The only reason @Moses's photo doesn't show a fence is that Russia's fence is often well inside its territory. It reminds me of the old Russian saying: @Moses большой лжец.1 point -
The bear will end up in a Chinese circus due to miscalculations of the little evil man in charge of Russia. Also, being a horrible neighbor is not only about the border. Here’s a bit of reading on Mongolia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalinist_repressions_in_Mongolia And now about the border with Norway: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norway–Russia_border1 point

What do you feel about wokeness in film and theater?
Marc in Calif reacted to unicorn for a topic
By the way, as I reported on another site, the group which produced those problematic works cancelled their season and essentially went bankrupt several months ago. I guess that even in a more progressive city such as Los Angeles, there weren't enough paying audience members willing to buy tickets to such productions.1 point -

He won't provide the evidence because that particular piece of art was NEVER broken and repaired. We know the three pieces that WERE broken: two teacups and a plate. And that is definitely not, as he wants people to think, an incident that was TRIVIAL! Those three pieces were valued at $75 million. Scottie has been desperately trying to find a source -- ANY source -- that will back up his original claim. But he can't because such a source doesn't exist. 🤡1 point -

Unfortunately most of the links Moses uses to back up his statements - if he bothers to provide any sources at all - have been in Japanese or in Russian. And in those cases, the links had nothing whatever to do with the thread topic. The one in English from a Finland site here failed to back up his comments!1 point -

I wasn't really trying to give my judgment on anything specific about Taipei nightlife but just that it fits perfectly my taste and desires. Evidently it doesn't for you and that's totally fine. I'm in the same boat with some of the places mentioned by you like Bogota and Medellin. Been there, done that. Can't really say I enjoyed them, even though I can speak Spanish and had a good amount of sex while there, so no plans to return to those places. You gave Taiwan a fair number of chances. I don't think you will get charmed if you go for a 3rd time. Would be better if you just avoid it as it doesn't really suits you for all those reasons you mentioned and I think you're honest when you're saying that they bothered or made the place unappealing to you, even though I don't agree or share them. Nonetheless, Taipei is going to be remain a great gay destination for most, including lots of people in this forum. Same as will Columbia or Brazil, even though I wouldn't return there even if getting paid to do so.1 point -
It's a pretty comprehensive and well-summarized list of venues. Quite good for a generic website focused mostly on selling tours. if it had included the saunas the hot springs would have been pretty much complete.1 point

In my brief post, I said the art work was broken and repaired. I was expecting your response. To my surprised, nobody (you and @Marc in Calif) knows anything about what I was talking about. Then I said Jade Bak Chol, then you went into trivials about my spelling and the material jadeite. It is not my fault that you were not aware of the history and condition of this piece, and it is not my fault that you are now diverting the issue of your ignorance by going about trivials. AND, it is not my fault that you are not able to find the info about this art piece now. I am not your mother.1 point

Actually, in this instance I agree with most of what @Moses has said on this subject (yes, they shouldn't sell rail tickets unless there is a visa, but no, it's not the Russian border guards' duty to enforce Finnish law unless they've agreed to do so), but this statement seems to be a preposterous speculation, unless you have real evidence to back it up. And, no--an unsubstantiated statement by the Russian press is not evidence.1 point

I was in Bangkok for nine days in June 2023 and used Grindr to hook up with guys, mostly freelance massage / money boys. I used my Line QR code as my display pic on Grindr and have had many guys add me to their Line accounts and make contact through Line since then. I also use the Explore function on Grindr and send messages to guys in Bangkok (in Thai if their profile or bio is in Thai) who I might like to meet and tell them my next arrival date, area I'm staying and what I am looking for, again with my Line ID or QR code (but I don't make any references to money as that will get me banned). I follow the X / Twitter pages of massage shops and massage boy review pages and comment in Thai on some of the posts if I like the look of the guy. I put my Line ID in my X / Twitter profile too. I used Google Translate to begin with but then learned how to read and write most Thai script and now I can recognise the Thai words and phrases that I need to get me to massage / money boys on Grindr or X / Twitter fairly quickly - it definitely helps!... I started off with 16 Line contacts in June and now I have 134 contacts, around 50 keep in regular contact asking when I am coming back to Bangkok. Massage / money boys often use the words "รับงาน" (accepting work) on Grindr but usually broken up in various ways to try to get past the ban on commercial use. I also search X / Twitter (on Google) for the same words "รับงาน" together with "Twitter Bangkok" or "กรุงเทพฯ" (Bangkok) and find some that way. I joined a Line group I was invited to by a MB I met in June and scored a lot of contacts from that before it closed. A guy who hooks up with and takes some really hot video with some BKK massage boys is on Twitter / X at @Gom81840463 or @nubfan44_ or @ninezew or @Tk07659237. Quite a few of the guys in his videos I recognise from the Twitter pages of massage shops and he sometimes adds a link to the shop the guy is from in his post. A few of the guys have added me on Line and I am happy to have them come to my hotel when I am in BKK rather than go to their shop. Pretty much all of the guys I am in contact with ask for 1500 to 2500 baht for one to two hours for a hotel hook up that includes their travel costs. I'm headed back to BKK next month for two weeks, and I am drooling at the thought of those delicious Thai cocks that I am mostly starved of in Sydney!1 point
