Pita vows to run again
stevenkesslar and 3 others reacted to reader for a topic
From AFP Thwarted Thai election winner Pita Limjaroenrat vowed Thursday to run for prime minister again, defying conservative forces that blocked him from the job earlier in the year and despite a looming court case. The 43-year-old led his Move Forward Party (MFP) to a shock first-place finish in May’s general election, buoyed by young and urban Thais weary of a near-decade of military rule — only to be prevented from becoming premier by royalist and pro-military blocs opposed to his reformist agenda. MFP’s former allies Pheu Thai then formed a coalition government with army-linked parties, leaving the progressive challengers back on the opposition bench — and Pita perhaps in the political wilderness. He also faces a legal challenge thrown at him in the wake of the election, which could see him banned from running for years. But in an interview with AFP, he vowed to take another tilt at the premiership. “Of course. I’m not giving up, and it’s just a matter of time,” he said when asked if he planned to run again. But there are a number of roadblocks in his way — not least his current suspension as an MP. MFP won the most seats in the May 14 poll, but fell short of an outright majority and joined forces with Pheu Thai. But a prime minister candidate needs a majority across both houses of parliament, and Pita could not muster enough votes to overcome opposition in the junta-appointed Senate.4 points -
My point was what is the significance of referring to his religious identity has nothing to do with in context of the poster’s remarks about the museum any more than if he was a Buddhist or a Christian. The writer went out of his way to emphasize “Jew.” When done in that context it’s often an antiseptic connotation. As I described in previous post, Department of Agriculture (DOA) falsely assured a member of committing a sex crime because he noted in a trip review that the masseur had grazed his genitals. It was an absurd attempt to vilify the individual in a most heinous manner, especially considering there was no basis for the claim. This is what they trip reporter said (Orson) posted: “I went to prime bringing along all the stuffs I bought for the day. I availed of their 90 minute oil massage. I was ushered into a different building as the main one was already full. The massage was ok and relaxing. I would've preferred more heavy pressure, but I was too tired to tell the masseur. I know this is a no hanky panky place, but he seemed ok with my hands grazing his crotch "accidentally" while he massage my forearms. After the massage, he offered me to shower in a separate room and later gave me hot tea and towel. I tipped him 300 baht which he accepted happily.” But DOA wrote: “Are you really so pathetically desperate that you need to paw away at a boy who is giving you a massage in a legitimate massage place? If that is what you wanted, you should have gone to the places that offer those services one hundred feet away. Why go and sexually assault a boy who has chosen to work at a legitimate massage parlour and trained to do so? At a bare minimum, your behaviour would mark you out a sex pest in the West; more likely it would have led to a police report and you, rightly, being detained for sexual assault. It's a shame that people like you think that you have the licence to act like an animal when in Thailand simply because a boy may choose to avoid causing a scene in order not to jeapordise his job.”. This constituted an outright attack on the poster without any credible evidence that he did any of the acts that DOA alleges. So I wasn’t shocked to read that DOA inserted “Jew’ into his remarks in another post just days later. Can you imagine how any member would feel if falsely accused of committing a sex crime.4 points

From Thai PBS World Four former police officers attached to Bangkok’s Huai Kwang police station were sentenced to five years in prison today by the Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases. They were found guilty of malfeasance in office and corruption for demanding bribes from three Taiwanese tourists in exchange for dropping charges against them. The four were also ordered to return Bt27,000 bribery to the tourists. Two other officers from the same police station were acquitted by the court, due to insufficient evidence. The extortion, which took place on the night of January 5 in front of the Chinese embassy in Huai Khwang, was widely reported in Taiwanese media because one of the tourists is an actress. They were riding in a taxi, which was stopped for a search by a group of six Huai Khwang police officers, manning a checkpoint in front of the Chinese embassy. Three electronic cigarettes were found in their possession and only one of them was found to be carrying a passport. The trio were charged by the police for illegal possession of electronic cigarettes and two of them faced an additional charge for not carrying their passports. The police officers told them, however, that if they didn’t want to be taken to Huai Khwang police station, and face the prospect of being held in custody for 2-3 days, they must pay 27,000 baht to them and the charges would be dropped. A friend of the tourists, also Taiwanese, who was a prosecution witness, paid the police as demanded and the tourists were released. The six police officers were initially transferred to the operations centre of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, pending the outcome of a disciplinary investigation, which resulted in their dismissal from police service and prosecution.3 points

You missed the start? Huh? The start was many decades ago! Now it's virtually elections all year, every year. Or if not elections then raising the massive amounts of money essential to get elected in this paragon of democracy! A two-year cycle for members of Congress, a four-year cycle for Presidents and a six-year cycle for Senators - and that's before the elections for governors, state legislatures, mayors, states' attorneys-general, sheriffs, school boards - and probably also the managers of MacDonalds. And it all comes down to cash! No, not from politicians' own pockets. It's the mega-donors who influence policy, give a dodgy Supreme Court Justice or two all manner of luxury perks which he then hides instead of declaring them without any sanctions whatsoever, and those who hide behind fancy Foundations. People like the Koch Brothers - or perhaps I should just say Koch since one recently died but both actually gave mega-bucks under at least two different entities, George Soros, the gambling king Sheldon Adelson who has made a gazillion from his casinos in Las Vegas and Macao, Michael Bloomberg, and then the hedge funds run by largely unknown names like Tom Steyer and Kat Taylor, or by crooks like Sam Bankman-Fried. Did I mention lobbyists? On top of that lot there are the Super PACS which continue their fund-raising ways thanks to court rulings in 2010. Eliminate them? The largest political fund raising machines ever thought of? That has to be a joke. Freedom rules. Freedom to donate. Freedom to influence policy. After all, who came up with the list of potential justices for Trump? The right-wing Federalist Society and the similar Heritage Foundation, allied to the right-wing evangelical movement. Funny, though, how many of those evangelical pastors live in luxury (Kenneth Copeland is estimated to be worth US$760 million and all seem to own private jets), yet more than a few seem to have a habit of disobeying God's laws and then either crying for forgiveness on their mega-rich television enterprises (Jimmy Swaggart etc.) or end up in jail (Jim Bakker etc.) or in bed with another man (Ted Haggard). The list of 'abominations' - oops transgressions - is actually in the many dozens! Funny, too, how these "churches" ,"ministries" "cash cows", call them what you will, make tens of millions of fat profits annually yet are not subject to any taxes! Money rules! Don't worry @Kostik. The show is well and truly on the road. Indeed, it has never left it. Careful, though! All that popcorn may severely damage your health.3 points

Will You Fly On A Russian Made Aircraft?
Ruthrieston and one other reacted to PeterRS for a topic
In the old days of the Soviet Union, flying on its home-made aircraft was sometimes a bit dodgy. My first was a Tupolev something on the Polish carrier LOT from LHR to Warsaw. Down by my lower legs there were bolts. During fight you could see the frost on them. Then there was the wide body Ilyshin Il-96 which I took from Athens to Moscow. Entry was by a door from the tarmac after which you climbed stairs to get into the passenger cabin. As I was on a multi-sector trip in business class, I walked up to the front. The flight attendant growled at me "Go back. You do not sit here!" I showed her my ticket whereupon she relented and let me take my seat. Lunch was the economy class meal brought to my seat, opened and sloshed on to a plate! Mind you, at least I made it to my destinations. Those on the supersonic Concordski (not the official name) were not always so lucky. The Tupolev Tu-144 had an unfortunate international debut at the Paris air show in 1973. Looking remarkably like the Anglo-French Concorde, it could not come out of a dive, broke up and spectacularly crashed. As Concorde's Technical Flight Manager Brian Calvert said, "The rush to get Tu-144 airborne exacted a heavy penalty later." That was borne out when of the 102 commercial flights (only between Moscow and Alma-Ata) lasting 181 hours of flying time - just one flight a week, the Tu-144S suffered more than 226 failures, 80 of them in flight. For those who actually did fly on the aircraft, cabin noise was horrendously high at an average of 90-95db. Passengers two seats apart had to scream and shout to be heard! The passenger service was cancelled after 7 months. But even when purchasing A-300s from Airbus in the 1990s, not all went well for the state airline Aeroflot. One flight from Moscow to Hong Kong crashed into a mountain range with the loss of all lives. The subsequent enquiry resulted in the alarming fact that the captain had let his children into the cockpit with his son and daughter sitting at the controls. The 12-year old boy sat in his cockpit seat. The boy then applied enough force on the stick to turn the plane and effectively turn off the autopilot. The plane went into a dive. The boy's body was later found still in the pilot's seat. Now, the airline has a good record, even though sanctions mean that obtaining parts and new aircraft are not possible and the number of usable aircraft is slowly dimishing. So Russia has built its own new 4-engine wide body long haul jet, the IL-96-400 M which has completed its first airborne trials. Designed to compete with the Boeing 777, it can carry up to 370 passengers. It is comparable to the “world’s best models due to the redundancy of the aircraft’s systems and its aerodynamic configuration.”according to the manufacturer. But why it should have adopted a gas guzzling 4-engine design beats me, although Russia presumably has no problem obtaining the fuel at cheap prices. Will I fly on it? Nope! No doubt many others will. https://edition.cnn.com/travel/russia-test-flies-new-homegrown-widebody-passenger-airplane/index.html2 points -
Capturing humanity’s essence through a retrospective photo exhibition
Ruthrieston and one other reacted to reader for a topic
The following exhibit will be on display through Nov. 26 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, located opposite MBK and Siam Discovery. From Thai PBS World In the realm of photojournalism, James Nachtwey is a name with resonance and significance. He has traversed the globe, documenting the most pressing issues of our time with a lens that captures the essence of human suffering and resilience. With a career spanning over four decades, Nachtwey has dedicated his life to bearing witness to some of the world’s most significant and harrowing events and has covered nearly every armed conflict in the world. His evocative and heart-wrenching photographs have not only garnered global recognition, but have also been a catalyst for social change. Recently, Thailand has had the privilege of hosting a captivating exhibition of his work in ‘James Nachtwey: Memoria’, which serves as a poignant reminder of the power of photography in bringing about social change. The ‘James Nachtwey: Memoria’ exhibition, a large-scale retrospective by James, has been organised by The Royal Photographic Society of Thailand, with support from The Embassy of the United States of America in Thailand. One hundred and twenty-six photographs are on display. Each photograph in this exhibition represents a fragment of a memory, captured within the continuum of the events Nachtwey experienced. Each image was intended to reach a mass audience during when these events were taking place, as a way of raising public consciousness; one element amongst many in the process of change. He has presented numerous solo exhibitions in New York, Paris, Milan and Stockholm. This is his first exhibition in Thailand and the Asia Pacific region. Naphat Ratanasakdi, Secretary of The Royal Photographic Society of Thailand, said that “James Nachtwey shows the truth of the event with very hard, depressing, and aggressive photos. The photos of James Nachtwey have a lot of photogenic sense, they have a lot of aesthetics in his works. So, this is why James Nachtwey’s photos are very special and stand out.” One of the most moving sections of the exhibition showcases Nachtwey’s extensive documenting of global conflicts. His lens has captured the devastation of war in Bosnia, the brutality of apartheid in South Africa, the terror of the siege of Kabul, the September 11th attacks in New York City and war in Iraq, among many other tragic events. These images not only chronicle the horrors of conflict, but also convey the resilience, courage and hope that persist amidst the darkness.2 points -

Dems need plan B, there is no warranty what Biden will be still in his weak mind to Nov'24 or even alive. Is There An Effective Way To Protest?
Ruthrieston and one other reacted to PeterRS for a topic
I cannot agree with your conclusion. I am not a physician but I come from a family that is almost exclusively members of the medical profession. I agree that giving kids candies basically to shut them up is not always good parenting. But I believe the vast majority of the millions and more marching and protesting about climate change do so because of firm beliefs - not how they were brought up. Thank goodness the younger generation are taking on this issue. It illustrates to me why there should be a maximium age for leaders of countries. That the leading Presidential contenders at present in the USA would be 83 or 79 when taking up office is, in my view, some form of madness! The median age of world leaders is 62-63. If individual workers have to retire aged somewhere between 62 and 67, why should any elected leaders be permitted to continue beyond that age range? The argument will no doubt be they have acquired a wisdom that can be extremely useful. To which I'd say: well them, make them official Presidential advisers, but not the Presidents themselves. Same with judges. The UK has a maximum age of 75. Fair enough. Judges are supposed to have more 'experience' and 'judgement'. At 75, the dreadful, lying, sexual molestor Clarence Thomas would be out in a matter of months. And yes I watched his confirmation hearings when I was working in Tokyo and I saw how Joe Biden stopped witnesses from testifying agsinst him in order to get the nomination approved. In his final 'defence', Thomas was clearly lying and did not answer the charges against him. Yet a man who should never have been near the Supreme Court is now its longest serving and most controversial member. Shame on that system!2 points -

Not so, at least according to the CNN article. It's a new widebody aircraft that can replace western made passenger planes. This one seats up to 370 passengers in up to 3 passenger classes. Somehow I have difficulty believing First and Business class or Business Class and Premium Economy would be offered for emergencies! Besides, as the Russian Government's own official website stated on 1 November, "The prototype of the long-range widebody passenger aircraft Il-96-400M has successfully concluded its miaden flight." From the Straits Times Plane makes U-turn after taking off in London with missing window Passengers on board an Airbus A321LR that departed a London airport in October were in for a noisier and colder flight than usual when two of the plane’s windows were found to be missing after take-off. Titan Airways Flight AWC305Y had taken off from London’s Stansted Airport on Oct 4 and was headed to Orlando International Airport in the US state of Florida, according to a report from Britain’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB). After take-off, the flight crew noticed excessive noise coming from the left side of the cabin’s rear. The report states that “several passengers recalled that after take-off, the aircraft cabin seemed noisier and colder than they were used to”. A crew member walked to the area for a closer inspection and noticed that one of the seals around the window pane had become dislodged, with a noise that was described as being loud enough to damage your hearing. The plane was in the process of its take-off climb and had reached an altitude of 14,000 feet (4,200m) before it was levelled out to stop its ascent and its airspeed reduced so that one of the pilots could inspect the windows. After assessing the damage, the decision was made for the plane to make a U-turn and land back at Stansted after being in the air for 36 minutes. Upon further inspection of the aircraft’s exterior after landing, two window assemblies were found to be missing, while the inner pane and seal of a third window were dislodged. An aircraft window assembly consists of the inner and outer panes and the window seal. According to the report, “there were no abnormal indications on the flight deck and the aircraft pressurisation system was operating normally... the cabin had remained pressurised normally throughout the flight”.1 point

Poll PANIC
Marc in Calif reacted to stevenkesslar for a topic
I agree with everything he said. Here are the main "but let's not get too optimistic" rejoinders that also make sense. 1. Trump was not on the ballot in any of the elections where abortion rights did so well. In the two elections he has been on the ballot, each time he pulled a surprisingly high level of turnout. In each of these abortion victories, including in Ohio, it is clear that some voters - especially women - who voted for Trump before voted for abortion rights now. So whether or how that translates into votes for other Democratic priorities or candidates when Trump is on the ballot in 2024 is not at all clear. 2. Judis and Teixeira think Democrats need to call a culture war truce, not Republicans. They both acknowledge that abortion in particular is a culture war positive for Democrats. But I think they are generally right that moderate voters, including Hispanic and Black and Asian ones, feel some of the "woke" stuff is a big turn off. If Democrats want to win Governor races in states like Kentucky, or Senate races in 2024 in states like Missouri or Indiana or West Virginia (or Montana, or Ohio) it is not even an option. 3. The poll numbers for Trump and Biden among young voters absolutely suck for Biden. Biden won in 2020 because Millennials and especially Gen Z carried him on their backs. One exit poll showed him carrying voters under 30 by 24 points in 2020. Now, the margin is surprisingly close. Like a single digit. So younger voters will clearly go out and vote for a pro-abortion state Supreme Court candidate, or Governor. But how that works out for Biden in 2024 is also completely unclear. The polls and even more so the focus groups suggest young voters who are leaning toward Trump are basically saying, "This turd smells slightly less bad than the other turd, maybe, and it least it can walk." Or something like that. 4. Unlike 2020, Biden is viewed far less favorably than a generic Democrat. So there is a distaste for Biden, specifically. With age being the most likely suspect. The most telling number in that "oh shit" NYT/Sienna poll is that a generic Democrat actually does BETTER against Trump in 2024 than in 2020. Four years ago NYT/Sienna showed Biden two points ahead of Trump. Now they show Trump five points ahead of Biden. On the other hand, four years ago the Times/Sienna poll showed a generic Democrat leading Trump by three points. In other words, Biden did about as well as an unnamed generic Democrat against Trump, and actually did better than any named Democrat like Warren. Four years later it shows a generic Democrat leading Trump by eight points. The good news is that "generic Democrat" actually does better in 2024 than 2020. The bad news is that today, unlike four year ago, Biden does far worse against Trump than a generic Democrat. That explains a lot of the difference between what polls are saying, and how people are voting on everything other than Joe Biden. I'm not saying Biden should drop out. The opposite. Either way, it's going to be a close race. And if I had to bet, I'd bet on Lichtman's Keys. Meaning, having Biden run as the incumbent is more likely to be a plus, not a minus. Partly I'd bet that way because, so far, his prediction system has always been right. But also because it just makes common sense to me. Running with an incumbent, and focusing on unifying the party rather than having an internal bloodbath, is probably going to help Democrats. That said, Lichtman's own theory is basically playing the odds. The model is simple enough: when you have these variables, history says it usually works out this way. In 2024, there is no question that Biden will be testing how much the power of incumbency is really a benefit. I don't think the polls are all wrong. Biden on the top of the ticket is at best a mixed blessing. My hope, which is reasonable, is that if we are not in a recession next Fall, and the economy and stock market keep growing between now and then, that will likely be enough to carry Biden and Democrats to victory. It's certainly not bad news for Democrats that even though people are still pissed about inflation, and about half of Americans feel like we are in a recession, they don't seem to be taking it out on Democrats every chance they get. Lichtman himself is saying the verdict is out. In addition to his two economy keys, he also points to his two "war and peace" keys. When he did that brief interview above several months ago, I assumed that Ukraine was going to be neither a success nor a failure a year from now. But now that there is a second war in play, the chances of a foreign policy success or failure altering the outcome of the POTUS race seems higher.1 point -

Quite a few airlines have implemented facial recognition solutions, when you can go from checking your bags to boarding the plane without having to take a boarding pass out. Emirates and Delta are two that come to my mind right now. At The international terminal at LAX, where I usually fly from, most of the times you board the plane just by having a picture taken. Yeah, leaving TPE is usually a quick process. They take a picture of your face and scan two fingerprints at an automated gate. Entering through TPE though is such a pain. The immigration process is extremely slow. I've had to wait between 30-75 minutes during day hours. They should automatize that process, especially for countries that don't require a visa or at least increase the number of immigration agents. Such a shame for an advanced country like Taiwan. Makes BKK looks quite well-run in comparison.1 point

From the BBC website For Chinese tourists in Bangkok, 76 Garage, an open-air restaurant on the northern outskirts of the Thai capital, has long been near the top of the list of places to visit. And they go there not for the food, but the waiters. In the middle of the restaurant is a swimming pool. The evening reaches its highlight when the waiters, all fit young men, strip down to their shorts and wade into the pool, offering to carry the diners for a photo op and a tip. There was a time when 76 Garage was so popular you needed to book a month in advance to get a table. These days half the tables are empty. Thailand's lauded tourist industry is missing its biggest customers: the Chinese. When China finally lifted zero-Covid restrictions in January, allowing its citizens to travel overseas, Thailand had high hopes. It expected an upsurge in business that would help its tourist industry recover much of the ground it lost during the Covid pandemic. The government predicted as many as five million Chinese tourist arrivals by the end of the year - still less than half the nearly 11 million who came in 2019. But a big improvement on last year, when there were only 250,000. That rosy scenario has turned out to be far too optimistic. Fewer than 2.5 million came in the first nine months of 2023. "Our tourism ministry said visitor numbers would recover quickly after the pandemic," said Anucha Liangruangreongkit, a Chinese-speaking tour guide at the Grand Palace in Bangkok who has been working there for 42 years. "But they're dreaming. I'm a guide - I should know. If it was normal, like in the past, it would be packed, right? Look at it now. Are there a lot of people here? No." Part of the problem is a shortage of low-cost flights post-Covid, and a slowing Chinese economy. The new Thai government hoped its announcement of a five-month visa waiver would entice more tourists. But a shooting at Bangkok's most famous shopping mall on 3 October, in which a Chinese mother of two children was killed, compounded an image problem confronting Thailand and other South East Asian countries. They are now considered unsafe by many Chinese people. More at https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-673056931 point

Well there are those with longer memories than me with this bar, but it is one that I visit regularly when I am in town, and as recently as last month. As I understood it, the convention always was that you would enter the bar, be shown a seat and a drink order taken for you. Boys would be on stage, some standing looking at you, others seated. In the past they would be wearing loose fitting pants and flashing their cocks to entice you. More recently jeans, but there would still be some with their cocks out. You picked a boy to join you and a drinks order would be taken for him, chances are he would then get his cock out for your inspection and in the hope of persuading you to agree to a 300 baht chuck-wow. Now they have also been entirely happy letting me call boys off stage for a fondle of their goods in exchange for 100 baht tip. In fact the papasan will willingly go and change a 1k baht note for me into 100s for precisely that reason. (some guys offer less than 100 baht - but I have always thought that fair exchange). But normally I come into the bar with at least one other guy, so I am buying 3-4 drinks anyhow and they don't seem to mind about tips as my bin is usually between 1-2k (plus tips on top of that). The boys will obviously welcome the tips, but the bar needs to sell drinks to make any money; and frankly you can't have one without the other! And at the moment guys there is nowhere else in Pattaya where you can have the sort of hands-on fun you can have in Nice Boys; so dip your hands a bit deeper into your pockets and then everyone is happy!1 point

From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Premier Srettha Thavisin has promised to push for parliamentary approval next year of three separate bills to legislate for gay marriage, lawful prostitution and gender choice. All subjects were approved in principle by the previous military-backed administration of General Prayut, but they then became stuck in committee and the thorny run-up to the 2023 general election. The gay reform will change section 1448 of the civil and criminal code so that marriage is no longer restricted to Thai men and women but will be available regardless of gender. The implication is that gay couples will have exactly the same rights in law as heterosexuals, including pensions and adoption issues. Same sex marriage between a Thai national and a foreigner has yet to be clarified. For the first time since the 1960s, adult prostitution will become legitimate as sex workers (female or male) will be legal professionals who will have the same rights and responsibilities as all other Thais in lawful employment. The implications of the legislation for Thailand’s nitery entertainment businesses, including go go bars and their working practices, have still to be demystified. The third bill will concern gender identity and will oblige official certificates (for example ID cards and passports) to accept the gender that a Thai individual identifies as, whether male or female or other. Srettha said that he intends to push for all three major reforms to be passed simultaneously under one heading. Parliamentary approval for the trio of issues is certain as the largest parties, including Pheu Thai and Move Forward, are already committed to support the reforms. Once the laws are changed, Thailand will have the most liberal legal environment in Asia for the subjects identified.1 point

Day 4: Woke up early around 7am and decided to walk to the beach. when I reached there, I saw the people starting to setup their sun lounges. this is where Pattaya beats the Philippines. they are way more organised, so more people can enjoy the place at a budget. I didn't noticed that I reached the central festival mall on my walk, it was still closed so I decided to have breakfast at the Hilton. I sat outside to enjoy the view as it wasn't too hot. I didn't realise this place can be really busy, good thing they have a small marker to show that the table is occupied so that a lone diner like me won't be surprised that his table is taken when one get's replishment from the buffet. Good variety of food and some fresh juices and salads. It was worth the 700 Baht. After breakfast went back to my hotel and enjoy the swimming pool and the pool bar. Then lunch at terminal 21 again, where I found the PadThai station was value for money. Also found the a good deal of 1 kilo dehydrated strawberries for 500 Baht on the ground floor pop up stalls. Was planning to go to jomtien but it rained in the afternoon so just took a nap. In the evening, I started my trek to nice boys. when I reached there, there were already 3 customers on the benches near the door, so the mamasan offered me the bench further from the door. the advantage was I got more privacy, the disadvantage was it didn't provide good lighting on the guys on stage. the guys on stage recognised me and started to flirt. I called the guy I had with yesterday for another round of fun. after that I tried the chuck wow contest, unfortunately it lasted less than a minute. with a guy I didn't see near the sofa was already ready to shoot. but he showed me the evidence before taking the reward. I was hoping the lone chubby guy to get the reward, so I was a bit disappointed, but it is what it is. I decided to take another guy to sit with me. most of the guys in nice guy don't speak Thai, so you either have to use google translate or the mamasans. it seems business is picking up for nice boys, at least before the 1030pm, as there were multiple customers coming in and out when I was there for about an hour. I don't know the scene after that, where I suspect most of the punters are in boyztown for the shows. there was also a VIP customer who went straight to the booth and have a whisky prepared for him - and all the guys were greeting him when he arrived. I wonder if he is in this forum. A quick motorcycle ride to BBB. this time the matured lady mamasan seemed to recognise me from last night, and ushered me to the table right in front of the stage. I think I figured out the formula that BBB is taking. They are playing both as a hosto bar, where guys are fully clothed and plays hosts for you to table them and order drink$, plus their show has enough variety to those looking for cabaret and more explicit stuffs. it reminds me of a show place in Las Vegas where the performer plays a medly of songs, with such a variety, the chances of you not liking a song in the whole performance is slim. Unfortunately, again no muscle hunk in sight tonight in BBB. The bboy hunk this time performed with a special underwear with a ludicrous thin prosthetic. it was a waste, if he could've found one with a mildly normal sized dildo on that underwear. he could do a solo act, and blow the Tawan guys off. But alas it was not to be, maybe it was a sign that he is not offable so just make the act funny rather than sexy. I noticed some of the performers don't have condoms, just rubber bands to act as cock rings. I asked one of the guys if he could come with me after the show. I thought he said yes, but after the show, he was with his buds on the terrace having drinks. I don't know if there was something wrong with the translation. I decided to call it a night a rode the baht bus back to my hotel. i didn't get to sleep with the guy, but overall and enjoyable night.1 point

This shop distributes daily listings of masseurs available on its LINE site but today is set some sort of record with a dozen photo arrays featuring 100+ guys of every description. Although all are free agents and many can be found on other sites, this is the single largest collection I’ve seen to date. This Saphan Kwai location and Silom Soi 6 represent the two most concentrated areas in Bangkok to find all-male massage shops.1 point -

I understand you but personally I learned that naming and shaming in the open is counterproductive and leads to undeserved problems for boys in questions and me as well. unfortunately there are weirdos reading us too and some readers tend to magnify what they read beyond reason. Not to mention that scientifically one statistic sample is not basis for hypothesis. So criticizing in the open after just one unfortunate or less fortunate case may not be fair. Nothing stops members from trying to obtain clarification by way of PM although response can't be guaranteed, specially when member is new. It's surprising how often I get very specific questions from members who just joined and never hear from them again.1 point -

why? what makes you think that it may not work for you even if did not work for reader ? One of my best boys ever was certain M from Senso, I was strongly advised not to engage him by one of my most trusted forum friends who shared the same taste for men. yet I went for it because if looks and gut feeling and never regretted. I don't even want to repeat my story told already 127 times here - my best and second worst evr off were with the same Tawan boys 2 years apart.1 point
