Day 9 After breakfast and bidding my temp boyfriend goodbye, I once again am embracing singleness and ready for my next adventure. But at this point of the trip, I surprisingly found myself clueless with what to do next. It's similar to the feeling of having done a number of trips in the buffet line ---- you're not full yet unsure what to eat next. I decided to give myself a detox and declared a "cock embargo" for today. Started with distracting myself with Netflix and catching up with my series. When I start feeling a bit lethargic, I went down the gym for a bit of a run. By mid-day, the Filipino MB (Jake) I met previously (see Day 5) messaged asking if I'm still around. Turned out he'll fly out in a couple of days and wanting to know if I want to meet up. Banking on my previous positive experience, I agreed but warned him that my current mood and preference is just to go with the flow and walk around aimlessly. With that disclaimer made, we met up in Terminal 21 and eventually found ourselves making our way to Iconsiam. Inside the mall, we chanced upon what looks like an English style tea house - which made me suddenly crave for a proper tea and scone. I dragged Jake who later confessed that it's his first time doing this style of afternoon tea. Armed with this new information, I decided to give him the "full experience" and ordered the high tea set. His face lit up with excitement when the order was served. He took photos of the tiered cakes and savouries selection and asked me if I can take a photo of him with it as well. I was a bit embarrassed but encouraged by his excitement so I went for it and grabbed his mobile. After tea, we walked for a bit and did some minor shopping before finding ourselves back to my apartment. We spent the early part of the evening talking, cuddled up and making out between conversations. Nothing extra spicy happened beyond that. When he mentioned that he haven't been to a male gogo bar before, I took it upon myself to introduce him to that world. After dinner (via grab) we made our way to Dreamboys. In my 7+ years of visiting Thailand, this is the first time that I went to a gogo club with a companion. It was a different experience but I enjoyed it overall. Jake was a bit taken aback with how much I am paying for the drinks and just nursed his "entry bottle" throughout the night. As the night progress, he started being more and more touchy and affectionate. Didn't help that I introduced him as my husband to make the Mamasans leave us alone. He particularly enjoyed the drag performance. I gave him a couple of 100 baht and told him to give it to the performer he likes the most. He hesitated at first but drew the courage to approach the stage to give his tip - and was ecstatic when rewarded by one performer with a peck on the cheek. When the first show of the night ended and the guys are up in the stage, Jake asked me if I have selected who I will be taking home that night. When I said no, he responded saying "good, because you're taking me with you tonight." And consistent with today's theme of going with the flow..... I did.7 points

Merely as an aside, it's interesting that you mention both afernoon tea and high tea - I think meaning the same afternoon snack 'meal'. In fact they are not the same, although in many parts of the world the terms have become virtually interchangeable. Afternoon tea is a quintissentialy British tradition originating in the 19th century by some duchess or countess. It was bascially a set of snacks to fill the gap between a heavy lunch and later cocktails and an equally heavy dinner. The latter would normally start to be served between 8:00 and 9:00 pm but the British aristocracy needed something to keep them going in the interim. In addition to tea, scones with clotted cream and home-made jams were essential, as were delicately cut finger sandwiches (initially with thinly sliced cucumber filling), small savouries and a selection of small individual cakes. Anyone who has seen the 1950s movie of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest cannot help but recall the wonderful actor Dame Edith Evans discussing the cucumber sandwiches which had been prepared for Lady Bracknell's visit but all eaten prior to her arrival by her nephew and host. High tea was very much a meal for the working class. When men returned from a day's work in the factories and mines, work that had probably started around 6:00 am, not surprisingly they were hungry. So "high" tea was invented, this to include tea, thick sandwiches and always one full cooked dish to be served between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Apart from the confusion of names, chefs nowadays like to put their own imprint on afternoon tea. Some years ago I had a dreadful one at the Dusit Thani hotel that had none of the traditional ingredients. Last month I was invited to afternoon tea at Bangkok's Okura Hotel. Perhaps not surprisingly most of the snack items were Japanese. Invited to the Sukhothai last week, I could not believe that the two scones (i.e. one each) were little more than a mouthful and the accompaniments so small they could not cover even 4 half scones. Ah well! Time marches on and traditions fall by the wayside. Time to return to @CallMeLee's excellent trip report and the much more important cocks and poles. Mention of poles reminds me of the old Bangkok My Way bar where young guys did the most fabulous pole dancing. Sadly no cocks in sight, though.5 points

Thailand in the low season (trip report)

THE FINAL DAYS Spoiler, or TLDR: things with Tao end on a sour note, but the silver lining in the cloud is that I meet someone else. My time in Pattaya turned out to be less active than I’d hoped, though maybe that’s not a bad thing for a vacation. Grand plans to visit the Truth temple and an elephant sanctuary, or maybe take in a Muay Thai match, do not work out; I even miss Jomtien and Walking Street. (The latter looked like a real circus from afar, not in a good way.) Did quite a bit of strolling up and down Pattaya Beach, though, which is a gorgeous thing to do at the golden hour. Also managed to get a little shopping done. The last couple of days were lazy ones. On Sunday, I sleep in. Staggered up at 9.30 a.m. to make it for the last stretch of the breakfast buffet, and faffed around a little – to use a friend’s preferred way of describing what one does when one does absolutely nothing productive – then returned to bed. Later in the aft, I decide I’ll try to get lucky again on Grindr with an in-call massage. I stumble onto Ken, a muscle boy who looks to be in his mid to late 30s. After a bit of back and forth and a number of repeated excuses, it becomes clear that he does not take clients in the day, for some reason or other. (He tells me he does massage work full-time, so it can’t be other work commitments. Maybe it’s a hangover.) In any case, he agrees to an 8.30 pm session at my hotel, then proceeds to show up 20 mins *ahead* of time. He’s not quite as muscled as in his pics and videos, but seems as if he still has some goods to show, so I decide to keep the session. In my room, after he takes his clothes off, I like what I see. Plus he’s wearing a red g-string, and there’s nothing I like better than skimpy undies on a built guy. The massage is decent – not great – but as least he didn’t rush through it to get to the finish. All good, in my book. I have a date with Tao, from the previous night at Dream Boys. Of course, when I show up at 10.30 p.m., he’s not around. “He no come”, the puzzled mama, Nonni, tells me. I’m disappointed and annoyed, but figure that this is boy bar culture – promises and punctuality are not prized goods. In any case, there’s the show at X-Boys across the street, and Nonni insists on coming with me and having me buy her a drink. I rather enjoy her good nature and love of fun, so it’s a green light. The show today is a diluted version of Saturday’s performance, and the crowd is also noticeably sparser. I end up ordering a bottle of Thai whiskey – Sansom, one of the cheapest on the menu – so naturally our table becomes the centre of the action. Nonni departs periodically for DB, and after an hour or so, as the performance is winding down and I’m wondering if I want to off one of the cuter faces on stage, lo and behold, Tao shows up, clad in his civvies. Clearly Nonni had worked her magic (or used her whip). I’m well, buoyantly pleased, to put it mildly. We return to DB, where the party continues. I buy another bottle of Sansom, and a good time is had by all. A group of us head out for supper at the braised duck eatery next door, and by the time Tao and I stumble back to my hotel I’m good and soused. Strangely, Tao turns out to *actually* be straight, or at least closer to the heterosexual end of the spectrum. He asks to watch some straight porn to get off, but is nonetheless very willing to cuddle and be affectionate. He also gifts me a little statuette of a monk as a souvenir, to which he wai-s when he takes his leave of it. It is one of the most personal presents I’ve received. My last full day in Pats is spent on a lousy hangover. Gone are the days when a night of binge-drinking will do little to me .. It’s another day of naps and faffing around, and then I unfortunately have to take a work meeting in the mid-aft. On my daily pre-dinner stroll along Beach Rd. I stumble onto the Fat Coco Seafood Club at the ship-shaped A1 Royal Cruise Hotel. The décor is tiki-tiki meets Miami Beach – lots of thatch and rattan and neon signage – and a real f**king hoot. I like the vibes enormously, so decide to splurge and order a crab omelette and a large plate of river prawns steamed with soy sauce and garlic. The omelette is a little too greasy for my taste, but the prawns are dee-lee-cious, and come with a fabulous green chili and lime dip. It’s hard to go wrong with seafood when it’s fresh and simply prepared. After dinner, Tao messages to ask if I want to spend some time with him later, when he’s at the bar. I’m thrilled, of course. I’m thinking that, yes, we can take it easy and maybe take a stroll on the beach (his suggestion), but, as most such narratives go, the protagonist is clearly being set up for a letdown. Tao proves to be a no-show, unsurprisingly. I sit at DB for 40 minutes that evening, chatting with Nonni and her fellow mama-san. When he eventually texts to say that “I busy”, but that he needs money, my patience has been quite abraded. I take off to X-Boys to watch the show – for the third night in a row – but am distracted by the constant messaging with Tao as he asks if I’m angry, if I can transfer some money to him, to say that he’s struggling and can he come to my room later (at 4 am!) etc. Nonni senses that I won’t be good company this evening, and seems a little uncomfortable. As I sit at the bar and think about the Buddhist notion of karma, I wonder where my interpersonal karmic balance with Tao now lies: in my favour (because he’s being such a user), or in his (his seemingly sincere gesture of a gift last night). I decide that his little statuette deserves, if nothing else, some cash at least, so I leave some with Nonni. I hope it’s of use to Tao, and that whatever issues he’s facing get sorted out. His unreliability with clients can’t possibly endear him to employers, and his prospects in this business may not be bright - I wonder if we’ll get to meet again, whether in this context or another altogether. As the show winds down, I spot a cute face from previous nights: a tall-ish guy in his late twenties perhaps, with full lips and floppy bangs. He’s gangly and slightly awkward as a performer, but that just adds to the charm. I take him – X-Boys’ off fee is 800 baht, higher than most – and head off back to the hotel, where, once again, it turns out that my gaydar is completely dysfunctional. Art (Utt?), despite the typical boy next door vibes, proves to be quite partial to male charms, and, in fact, within 20 minutes of being back in my room, we’re both done. That he rather enjoys my company is attested to by the fact that he hangs around afterward, and with the help of Google translate and his smattering of English, we manage to have a decently informative conversation, peppered with lots of kissing. It’s one of the sweetest encounters I’ve had on this trip, or in a long while, in fact. He comes from a rice-farming family in Isaan, and the shockingly calloused texture of his palms prompted my question about his background in the first place – he’s not the smoothest of the lot, as that upbringing suggests, but that just adds to the charm. When it’s time for him to leave, he tells me quite honestly that he’s hungry and off for supper, and that it’s his favourite chicken noodles he wants. Or, as he says it, with a rub of his washboard flat tummy, “chee-KEN noodles”. I’m just bowled over – by a boy mispronouncing chicken. My dotage has arrived. The next day, I send him 5 messages on Line, asking him to keep in touch. I leave for the airport in a bit, so am taking the little bit of free time I have to wrap up my report for you good folks. Wishing those who have plans in Thailand a productive time! (Looking at you, @jason1975.) May my little guy watch over us all in his meditative contemplation.5 points -
Thanks for such an informative post! ☺️ Words and meanings do evolve. I know of a few mates who refer to dinner/supper as "tea". Could be an extension of the high tea you wrote about? Imagine the confusion on this Asian guy's face when invited for tea and was served a full dinner! Many years ago, I was invited to come over for tea. Long story short ,we went straight to the bedroom, got rid of our clothes and was served something else. Perhaps another evolution of the meaning of afternoon tea? 😂2 points

Footnote for non-Thai speakers: literally he says "older_sibling give younger_sibling already yesterday" which is a very Thai idiom - pronouns which literally refer to kinship are often used between people who aren't related at all, because they denote relative status, which is culturally important. So I think it doesn't have to be about "you" and "I" at all - it could also be talking about two entirely different people. Only the context can tell. (Personally I give up trying to translate when I see ให้ because it's used in so many idioms where word order can make a big difference, and often means "cause" rather than "give". Or something like that. ☹️)2 points -

Website with Some Good Information About Gay Asia
ChristianPFC and one other reacted to PeterRS for a topic
I post this purely for information. I had never heard of the website Gayifiers until I was checking the web for some more detail about gay massage in Taipei. It's a London based site and i have no idea where it gets its information. It seems to be new given that several pages have "Coming Soon" against the content. But the information on Taipei massage was good and it includes a few reviews. Bangkok massage information has 5 listed including two I have not heard of before - Taywa Massage and Spa which seems to be staffed mostly by university students, and a second which is no doubt known to some readers, 9-Teen Massage on Silom Soi 8. The massage section also has information about Singapore, Osaka and Kaohsiung. The site also has more detailed information about Bangkok and Taipei with Hong Kong, Hanoi, Tokyo and Osaka "coming soon". It also provides more general sections on enjoying the Taipei Gay Pride Parade and Songkran. In the Songkran section the only hotels it lists are pricey, but elsewhere there is a list of four top gay budget hotels - Trinity Silom, FuramaXclusive, Siri Sathorn and the Ibis on Sukhumvit Soi 4. Interesting additional features are "12 Hottest Porn Stars in Asia" and "12 Hottest Porn Stars Around the World". https://www.gayifiers.com2 points -
I think the problem is that the Thai language depends so strongly on the context. One isolated sentence can mean 10 different things if you don't know which context it refers to, no translation app can help there. Especially Thai pronouns can drive one crazy in this regard. I speak to another person and say พี่ให้น้องแล้วมื่อวาน It could mean "I gave it to you yesterday" or it could mean "You gave it to me yesterday", depending on whom I speak to (relative age/status). My Google translate app says "I gave it to you yesterday" so it's 50/50 chance that it is correct. How can the translator app know whom I am speaking with? I think, translating Thai to English is more difficult than the other way. You must speak in a certain way so that the context becomes more clear, then it can work well. Polite Thai is probably more easy to translate than colloquial Thai. Translating longer pieces of text should work better than short ones. Language experts please correct if I am talking nonsense ...2 points

Shooting in Siam Paragon
Ruthrieston and one other reacted to PeterRS for a topic
This is utterly shocking. I was in Paragon on Saturday early afternoon. As usual it was packed with patrons. At one end close to Siam Centre there was a show on Level 1 with some minor Korean Pop stars. At least a hundred young Thais were either standing around or seated on the floor. Had the gunman been around at that time and opened fire on that crowd, I fear the death toll would have been many more. During covid, security at each entrance was a lot tighter. On Saturday I passed through no metal detector and there was no security personnel present. It was an open door. As @fedssocr points out, the security is now very lax. It will somehow need to be tightened. A question will also have to be asked how a teenage patient with mental issues got hold of a gun. An article in TIME suggests although that Thailand has around 10 million privately-owned guns in circulation, the regulations for obtaining one are quite strict, including the purchaser being at least 20 years of age. One problem is that only around 6 million of these guns are registered. There must therefore be a thriving second and third hand market. And as always in Thaialnd, corruption is not far from the debate. A state-run programme allows public servants to purchase guns at subsidised rates. Several people, including a government servant, were recently arrested suspected of running a gun-trafficking gang selling guns purchased through this programe. https://time.com/6220339/thailand-gun-control-mass-shooting/2 points -
I experienced the same in Hong Kong in the autumn of 1980. An ageing water infrastructure and the continuing influx of hundreds of thousands of immigrants from mainland China had put a strain on almost everything from housing, schools - and water supply. So we ended up with water rationing for several weeks. The situation was quite quickly resolved with agreement between Hong Kong and China for a major pipeline to feed water in from Guangdong Province. Two years later when Margaret Thatcher was in Beijing trying to bully the Chinese into letting the UK continue to run Hong Kong after 1997, her main foreign office advisor Sir Percy Craddock had a private word with her to point out that all China needed to do was turn off the water supply if she did not change her stance. "Nonsense!" it is said she replied. If the Chinese took that action, she would convert a fleet of oil tankers into water tankers and dock them in the harbour. It was an early indication that she herself had a determination about Hong Kong's future that she believed would prevail. She reckoned without wily old Deng Xiao-ping who also had a determination - and he was never going to give in. The treaty signed in 1898 between the two powers was rock solid. Hong Kong would be returned to China.2 points

Gogo bars in general? Montreal has a few. Certainly not with dozens of boys on the boytisserie and various shows. But more traditional strippers. These sorts of places have been dying off for a while now though given the advent of online sites like chaturbate and the boys scrolling at the top of this page.2 points

It's difficult to know just how "dark" this was. I'm sure the BBC isn't above some sensationalism to get eyeballs on their product. Certainly if anyone was drugged that is a crime. Given how long ago this allegedly occurred it's unlikely anyone would be able to prove anything now. I also think that desperate people end up in situations that others would likely not find themselves in. But the fact that they apparently received envelopes full of thousands of dollars makes it much more difficult to see them as victims. I'd also guess that 99% of the people on this website who are paying for affection and physical interaction with attractive young men (including me) will have a different point of view on this subject than many other people will.2 points

I stayed at the Sukhothai a couple of times on my first few trips to Bangkok. Impeccable service and very comfortable. But the location was a little awkward to me for getting around on foot. MRT not too far though which helps. I agree that Le Meridien has a very good breakfast and decent rooms. The spread at the Crowne Plaza always impressed me as well although I haven't been there in a while. I would imagine that the W hotel probably has a pretty big breakfast. The photos online look good. No one seems to talk about the W much though. Location is basically on the corner of Sathorn and Narathiwas - around the corner from Chong Nonsi BTS. I've read some praise for the breaksfast at The Standard hotel at the MahaNakhon tower. Of course given their rates it should be!2 points

I propose a thread to have a list of gay brothels in Japan. Reminder, gay brothels are fully legal in Japan, so we are not putting them at risk of being found out or closed by the police by discussing them. Here are the ones I know: I have never seen this one, hope to go some day, it has 4 locations: Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Sapporo : TOKYO SHOP -English- / ENTRANCE PAGE (dgdgdg.com) This one I have been to, but it was 10 years ago. Dude, the model was told he was being hired for a "sexual experience," to use his own words. Nothing ambiguous about that. Had my gardener told me "I'm really hard up for cash this month," while he was at my place, while taking his shirt off, and I countered with "I can spot you for another $250 if you're willing to give me a sexual experience," that would not be shady either. If I added "And I've been thinking of having that tree in my back yard taken down," that wouldn't have made it even more shady.1 point

"The men were models. They were seeking work as models." Maybe. They were paid for sex work. How much they may have been mislead or not is an unanswered question, and I suspect given the time that has past cannot be answered. _IF_ they were misled, that is a shitty thing to do. If they now regret doing it, or just want more money for having done it and want to extort the one who hired them, that is also a shitty thing to do. I don't think any of us can know which of these two it was. Their lawyer is certainly pushing the former to achieve the latter. It isn't hard for me to believe that no promises were made. It is hard for me to believe future benefits might result wasn't implied. Then again, maybe some of these party attendees did end up getting such rewards, just not these particular ones... But, to Omega's point, I recall a conversation in this forum some years ago when I commented very positively about a siamroads.com guide I had in Myanmar. Someone suggested I should have tried to bed him (he was both charming and handsome). I had hired him as a guide without any such agreement. I considered that suggestion highly unethical because as the employer who had contracted for non-sexual services to attempt to now use that position of power to negotiate a "new arrangement" including sex would be an abuse of power to me. I think it can be very easy for some in power to forget that the position of power they hold limits their counter-party's freedom to choose. Saying no may carry implied consequences that those not in the position of power fear enough to make them do things they would never agree to if they were in a position of equal power. When I contract for sexual services, I am very clear about what I am asking for and offering in exchange, as I suspect most all of us here are. (as an aside, I've enjoyed all the siamroads.com guides I've hired for local guide services.)1 point

Certainly slang and colloquialism will be more difficult in pretty much any language. But I think it depends a bit on what your ultimate goal is. If you want a perfect translation that is one thing. But if you just need enough to get the gist that's another. For example, I enjoy the Thais on Twitter who review massage places. They're obviously writing for a Thai audience in Thai. If I plug their text into Google Translate it is definitely far from perfect, but it's good enough to get an idea of what's going on.1 point

He was not as instantly recognisable as, say, Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud or others in the panoply of great British actors. He kept himself very much out of the public limelight. But the moment he stepped on stage. you knew you were in the presence of a magnificent force in theatre. Most will remember him for his work in films, as the actor who took over the role of Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies after the death of Peter O'Toole, or as King George V in The King's Speech. But his career was firmly rooted in the stage with many magnificent performances both in the classics and contemporary theatre. Sir Nicholas Hyntner, former director of London's National Theatre, sums him up perfectly. In 2005 he directed Gambon in the role of Falstaff in Shakespeare's Henry IV Parts 1 and 2. He wrote yesterday - "Michael Gambon was one of the last links to the great generation of actors that included Laurence Olivier and Ralph Richardson. His extraordinary gift was to combine the brute power of Olivier with the delicacy of Richardson. He could howl in pain at one moment and in the next achieve a kind of balletic grace that took the breath away." He added, "the memory of his countless great performances . . . will remain in circulation for generations." Sir Michael died yesterday aged 82. https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2023/sep/28/michael-gambon-star-of-harry-potter-and-the-singing-detective-dies-aged-821 point

Day 5 here we go! This is the part of the trip where the excitement is still there but I can no longer ignore the jetlag and the fatigue coming mainly from days 1 to 4. So after Ghanaian guy left, I felt the need to properly recharge in order for me to fully enjoy the remaining days - reminding myself that this trip is a marathon not a sprint. Woke up at around 11am with a message from "lone wolf" (see Day 2 report) asking if I'm keen to get some crabs. I responded saying that as long as she's referring to the crustaceans, she can count me in. She then forwarded a link of this restaurant in Khet Taling Chan (Mae Khlong) which is quite far to where I would go for food. But having read the glowing reviews saying how popular this restaurant is with locals, I was convinced. Imagine having good food while people watching! We meet up at Iconsiam, loaded up on coffee and took a taxi for possibly an early dinner gig. Overall, the food was so worth the trip especially if you like seafood dishes. I particularly enjoyed the grilled crab with roe on shell and the giant river prawns. We order a couple more item and it became obvious that it was too much. I looked around and other items looks yummy too. Kinda the same feeling when you're sitting with a bar boy and enjoying yourself but also eyeing and low key jealous of the customer and his guy at the other table! We parted ways and I decided to give Arena another go. I was a bit self conscious how my breath will be like so I got myself a brush and toothpaste in 7-11 before taking the lift to Arena. After a mind boggling selection process, I asked the uncle to tell my guy not to massage my feet and leg because I have an injury. He walked up to the guy, whispered something and my guy (who introduced himself later as kao) gave me a thumbs up. Hopefully this trick will avoid the masseur for spending so much time down there. The session with Kao was quite an enjoyable one. Not as intense but exactly what I need given the heavy meal I had prior! I'm glad i went to 7-11 prior as Kao seems to enjoy kissing a lot. I stepped out of Arena feeling a lot refreshed. I then decided to walk towards Starbucks in Montien Plaza while waiting for things to get busy in Surawong. After my coffee, I walked a bit further through patpong market and attempted to satisfy my curiosity by going to Banana Club. Not sure if it's just a bad night or completely a wrong decision in my part but I did not enjoy my time in there. There were only four guys on stage alternating between performances. I know it only takes one guy to make one's bar experience extra special but unfortunately, I can't see any of the four fulfilling that role. After about 40 minutes, I decided to leave and give Jupiter a visit. Jupiter is totally another Kettle of fish but from experience, I'm already expecting that the possibility of an off will be very slim. I think it got something to do with how the guys project themselves onstage or most probably how they were told to do so. Maybe it's just me but the stage feels more like a catwalk with most guys giving that standoffish model vibe. I can see a couple of ex dreamboys guys in there and remember having good fun with them. But given the vibe they are now projecting, I decided not to call anyone down and just enjoy the show. Jupiter is a type of club I imagine myself bringing my female best mate in and we can have lots of good time - but not a place I can source my BF for the night (and next morning). Don't get me wrong, maybe Jupiter's approach works for other clientele. And maybe I'm just not their key target market? With a not so successful attempt at bars, I decided to taxi back to my place and possibly look at the apps. Found this guy visiting from the Philippines who turned out to be an MB. He showed up half an hour later. I was pleased that he got good banter and can carry a decent conversation. I opened up a bottle of wine apologising to him that it's not the best but he drank more than half of it like a champ. We eventually found ourselves in the bedroom and after the deed had a quick shower and he stayed a couple more hours for a chat. Today may be a mixed bag bar-wise. But overall, I felt happy and satisfied and can go to bed with a cheeky smile on my face. Got a week more left so I can still afford nights like these.1 point

next time don't be so cheap and hire two motorbikes, even with all three skinny ( and finding skinny farang is as hard as finding 2000 baht note ) it's dangerous and not worth 80 baht savings1 point -
Bar boys in Jomtien Complex

Sunee is a quick motorbike taxi trip to and from the Complex. Over the years I’ve returned 3 up with an offed boy from Winner to my Complex hotel. Memories of blasting through the night air with a boy clinging on behind me !. I’ve always checked out Winner during my trips particularly when I’ve wanted a twink for the night. It’s a “traditional” Gogo where you can call boys down to sit with you, maybe use the cushions to check out their cocks or tongue kiss them, after giving them a tip.1 point -

I posted some picture of Furama Xclusive "executive room" in my Dec 2021 trip report, day 13 , page 5 https://www.gayguides.com/forums/topic/37210-third-time-lucky-december-2021-trip-to-thailand-in-covid-time/page/5/ It was really like regular apartment. Scott's suggestion of splitting stay between two is very sensible. I probably would do as hotel jumping is my favorite pastime( last trip excepted).1 point -

OK. I heard the W hotels around the world are very gay too, but I have no idea why, perhaps they use a lot of pink and purple color in decoration.1 point -

I never stay at Pullman but it seems to be more upscale that Furama Xclusive Sathorn. My vote goes for Furama though, affordable, big rooms (executive suite is in fact full appartment), bit dated but half Pullman price I liked buffet breakfasts at Crowne Plaza and Quarter Saladaeng (former Siri Sathorn). Of course it always will be question what ' delectable ' means1 point -

that's while ago, to put things in perspective , that year soi Twilight was still in full swing, Hero and Babylon were crowns of gay entertainment, Good Boys were gracing Sunee Plaza and Madrid Tavern was still in Patpong 11 point -

In my vast experience, hundreds of boys to my room, dozens over spontaneous overnights, even with street trade, there is nothing to worry about (neither safety nor theft). Out of that large number, I had a few cases of petty theft. Keep only as much money as you are going to spend on you, and lock the rest and your passport in safe and you should be fine. As for finding two twinks to stay with you and your partner over night, I would go to one of the few (at least before my last visit 2019) gay bars and massages in Phuket and ask them. Or find one online and ask him if he can bring a friend.1 point -
Hard to believe it was over 30 years ago. I had just moved to Portland. Which is where the film was set, as you know. Gus Van Sant was a groundbreaker. Drugstore Cowboy was another one of his great early films. And, yes, that scene was remarkably tender, and sweet, and also sad. Probably the best part of a very good movie. Although there is also that brief memorable moment on the motorcycle. But only because Keanu looked so incredibly pretty. 😍1 point

In all my dozens of visits to Tokyo I have never used King of College. There are a few sites offering guys which are very explicit in terms of what they will do and how much you will pay. I'll repost images from another thread to save checking (@Tartegogo does give both the sites I list in his first post). The six icons at the foot of each boy's description are - Gay, Straight, Bisexual He appears in porn movies If in black, he can top him If in black, he will botom for you He will drink alcohol if highlighted He smokes cigarettes I am told Tokyo Kids also mentioned above is still going strong - https://kids-jp.com/en/tk/ This also lists what the guy will do or not do but not in quite so much detail -1 point
