  1. Although I'll always take the train (if it's running) because I travel light, whenever I take the taxi I just make it clear to driver that "You take expressway and I give you 500." Never get an argument. When you add up fare, tolls and tip, whatever extra it costs me I find it well worth the convenience. It comes to less than USD 15 for door to door service. A bargain at twice the cost.

  2. The Airport Limo is twice the price to Silom area, and my favoured choice. The kiosks where you pay are brisk and efficient and right in airport concourse. They take your bags straight to the cars which are waiting just outside the terminal. Comfortable car after a long flight.

  3. Well, he has to say something like this, doesn't he? A way of justifying the massive cost of renting his huge Thai plane to get to New York! Let's hope those words don't come back to haunt him next year. This rather contradicts the earlier part of that release. Doesn't the journalist realise that World Cups are vanity projects which cost host countries massive amounts of cash? Sure they generate a lot of tourism revenues but not nearly enough to cover costs. Estimated losses from the last 3 world World Cups - Qatar: US$229 billion, Russia: $16 billion, Brazil : $19.7 billion. Discount Qatar because it had to buld a totally new infrastructure. But Thailand would need to construct several totally new stadia and spend a great deal of cash upgrading others. Plus all the required infrasructure costs. If it decided to combine with other nations, the last joint-country World Cup was Japan/South Korea in 2002. Estimated losses - US$7 billion. No doubt the PM is merely parrotting what the previous PM had said in June 2019 that all 10 ASEAN nations would bid for 2034. By November that year, the number of nations had rather suddenly dropped to 5. By June 2022, the Cambodian Chairman of ASEAN weakened this further by suggesting either 2034 or 2038. With Saudia Arabia and is trillions also ready to bid for the 2034 World Cup, ASEAN doesn't stand a chance. This is like the Thai businessman who years ago informed the media he was going to bring a Formula 1 Grand Prix night race to the streets of Bangkok. It was sheer fanciful idiocy and could never happen. Singapore's annual F1 Grand Prix costs the city state in the region of $150 million. 60% is paid for by the government. Admittedly, tourism revenues help defray the bulk of the private sector costs. But with average hotel room rates before tax and service in 2022 at S$440 - 11,590 baht at today's rates - how many are going to flood into the region to pay those rates plus inflated air fares? An 1 race in Bangkok was never going to happen - and it didn't!

    Trip report (July 2023)

Not true - unless it's happened in the last couple of months. You can go up in the people movers, escalators or the lifts. Years ago, I always used to go to departures up to get a taxi which had just dropped off passsengers. The only problems now are that there are airport cops trying to stop this (not effective in my experience) and the taxi will not be registered for airport returns. At the official taxi stands you get the printed notice with the taxi number and other details. This may (but only my guess) lead to a problem if for any reason you wish to complain about the taxi you get from upstairs.

  7. now you know why Christian gets boys for 500-1000 baht. Hotter boys command higher prices I agree with you about Tawan boys. They are usually older ,longer in business and know better what it takes to get and keep clients more and are less inclined to drama. On another hand they are also better in extracting money but still provide something in exchange. On last trip one of them asked me to buy him a jeans on sale at Silom Center, then suggested that we go to my hotel so he can try them on which was approved and converted into very nice , not rushy short time session with not tip expected. Speaking about Moonlight, yes models are keen on partying but that also means that they do at our cost and it may run to running tab well above we intended to pay and create embarrassing situation when you run out of money. Been there (in some Thonglor club with some of their models ) , done that (tab was higher than I had on me , he ended paying by his card and I reimbursed him in the room but felt very embarrassed and at end of day it was not worth expense ). Other thing about Moonlight , we shouldn't forget they they also have regular go-go boys and some of them are no less attractive that most of models and are less demanding , also their off fee is 500 , not 1000 like in models case. in fact if I found myself there last night I would be looking for 2 non models before I contemplate my favorite model from there. About Jupiter I had my share of disappointments there over years but absolutely don't agree that going there is waste of time and money. Esthetics are great , as a bunch they are by far most attractive looking of all bars whether you like type or not, male form there is top notch. They mat not smile when parading but if you invite them to sit with you , all of the sudden they do. My all post-covid offs from there , at least 4 were very nice , only thing which I couldn't manage to extract from them was long time but at least they were up front about that when I asked and did not resort to inventing some stories. So Jupiter is not my first choice but still a must at least one a week on any trip , even if only to see boys parading and not smiling. One of our members who likes the same type like me had even better luck recently almost landing long time session at boys suggestion.

    Trip report (July 2023)

The times my flights arrived it was always peak hour on the expressway and the trains, as I have the two bags (one carry on and one bag) I always caught a taxi. I hate being on a packed train and someone with big luggage or big backpacks try to squeeze on, even when there is no room for their luggage / backpack.

The fictitious mascot of Mad magazine that first appeared in the mid-1950's, he was immediately identifiable to most of the forum's membership. That tells us more than we probably care to be reminded of about our demographics. 😄

  12. Apologies to @DenverDude. There are of course two roads next to each other at the arrivals area and taxis have to be in the one further from the entrances. There are indeed barriers there and one way revolving entrances. But not all are in operation and so it is easy just to wak through these.

    Trip report (July 2023)

you guys are such weaklings ! And I wonder what so heavy you guys are carrying going to , after all tropical country ? On serious note , to some people spending 400 instead of 73 may make sense , to others watching their baht more closely it's quite a difference. There's no right or wrong in the train vs taxi issue. It's just good to know there are options.

not mine. I was shy and mamasan sensed it so he told me 'take this guy, he knows where short room is" and before I nodded buy was beside me. Likely he was primed to be gentle because he was sweet , obliging and hot. After session I tipped him then long time rate because somewhow I did not know there's difference between shot and long time and I can hear his happy squeek to this day. Ever since when passing by now abandoned corridor on the left with those short time rooms in dark passage leading from Suriwong to Moonlight I look into that darkness and smile.

  23. From The Nation Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s visit to New York to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly was successful in fostering relationships and increasing trade and investment with other countries, Prime Minister's Office spokesperson Chai Watcharong said. Srettha met with several foreign leaders, made five speeches and met with leaders of major corporations, including Tesla, Google, Microsoft, Citibank, JP Morgan, and Estee Lauder. These companies showed interest in investing more in Thailand, Chai said. Srettha expressed confidence that several foreign investors will invest at least US$5 billion each in Thailand and that he hopes Thai companies will register on the New York Stock Exchange next year. Talks were also held with FIFA executives about the possibility of Thailand hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2032. Additionally, support for football was increased significantly, with sponsorship raised from the previous 250,000 baht per year to 2 million baht per year.

  24. This is very similar to the situation in Canada. If you start early, you lose 0.6% from the full payment for every month before your 65th birthday. Conversely, you gain 0.7% per month for every month you delay after that birthday, until age 70. Consequently, I'm doing my best to hold off for as long as I can.

  25. From the Thaiger A handsome Thai pancake seller who helps his mother at her market stall in Rangsit has become an Internet sensation. The young man has caught the attention of netizens after a TikTok user, @niwat_kj, shared a video of him following a visit to the market stall at Si Mum Mueang Market. In the TikTok post, the user wrote, “The pancakes are truly delicious. They’re the best at Si Mum Mueang…I would buy the entire store. The seller is extremely cute. Everyone at Si Mum Mueang is adorable. I love him.” The video shows a customer asking the good-looking seller if he was helping his mother, to which he shyly nodded. The customer then asked the mother about their usual selling hours, to which she responded around 8pm. Upon the video’s circulation, netizens flooded the comments section with various remarks. Some teased the TikTok user while others complimented the seller’s good looks. A few users even noted that he bore a resemblance to two popular Thai actors, Jakrapatr Voravatsin and Chonkan Ampornsutinun, reports Sanook. 28. From Thai PBS World To boost bilateral trade and communications between Thailand and Cambodia, Sa Kaeo authorities have asked for the opening of a permanent checkpoint, linking Sa Kaeo province with Banteay Meanchey of Cambodia. The request was made during a visit by Deputy Prime Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara who is also foreign minister to Sa Kaeo on Monday. Parnpree went to observe the progress of the building of the Thai-Cambodian Friendship Bridge, linking Ban Nong Ian in Aranyaprathet district with Cambodia’s Ban Stung Bot in Oddar Meanchey district. A checkpoint building is also under construction and is expected to be completed this November. Parnpree was asked whether, when the checkpoint opens, it can become a permanent one, to facilitate the travel and trade. The authorities would also like the Foreign Ministry to open temporary passport office in Aranyaprathet district and a Thai consular office in Cambodia.

  29. This could make good sense to help promote development of ASEAN if the focus is on building infrastructure projects that will provide benefits to the host nations after. Unfortunately, most countries have been more interested in the prestige of hosting, and would prefer to build vanity projects that look good for a few weeks, and then slowly rot and crumble.

    Trip report (July 2023)

I would insist he stop, show him the taxi ticket receipt and point to the compaints number. Before he can leave that official taxi area, he has to pass through a barrier and give his entrance ticket (remember this includes his taxi number and driver's name) to the guy who mans it. If he has not turned on the meter in the short time it takes to turn on the meter, I'd also shout to that guy and point to the meter. Also you should note that taxi rates have quite recently risen and so the drivers are already making more for airport runs. SInce BKK opened, I have arrived back in BKK probably more than 100 times. Twice I have been in a taxi with a doctored meter. In those cases I pointed very obviously to the meter and said loudly "meter broken". Even though the drivers might not have understood English, they got the message. I then took photos with my phone of the meter, the driver's permit by the windscreen, the taxi number on the back left door and the driver himself. One then turned off the meter and said in English "pay usual amount, OK?". The other waived the fare altogether. I suspect he was afraid I'd register a complaint which could cause him problems! But my solutions are less easy if the taxi is hired unofficially from the arrivals area.

  32. From CNBC Long waits to receive new passports haven’t yet eased from earlier this year, as the U.S. Department of State works through a backlog of applications amid high demand for international travel. While the State Department expects delays to shorten through the rest of 2023, travelers should continue to plan well ahead, a Department spokesperson said. The Department’s message to U.S. citizens: Apply at least six months in advance of your planned travel or passport expiration date, the spokesperson said.

  37. Maybe I’m the only contrarian grump here, but I find the whole bar scene tiresome with the noise, the fake smiles, the crowd. It’s a huge time suck to me. So I go onto Hornet and find perfectly decent fun for about 1,000 baht. 1200-1500 in Bangkok. In November I will return with DH (Dear Husband) for the winter and now have four guys in Bangkok to meet. One a massage guy, and the other three met through Hornet. All delicious and reliable.

  39. From The Nation Unesco listing sparks surge of tourists to Sri Thep Tourists have been racing to Sri Thep since the ancient city in Phetchabun province was designated a Unesco World Heritage Site, but local residents have been caught off guard by the influx and services for visitors remain minimal. "It's truly unfortunate that the local community couldn't catch up in time, resulting in no facilities or services to benefit from the significant influx of tourists,” Phetchabun Governor Wison Kositanont wrote on Facebook. Wison was one of the key figures who pushed for Sri Thep’s addition to the heritage site list. Visitors are flocking to Sri Thep for holidays, and it is likely that this trend will continue, he said, adding: "This is one of the reasons why Phetchabun province urgently needs to establish a community-driven tourist service centre.” Si Thep is the fourth site in Thailand to be listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site. The first was the Ban Chiang Archaeological Site in Udon Thani, which was added to the list in 1992. Si Thep was added to the list in the cultural category.

Thank you for your report. Don't feel discouraged by first experience. It was just mismatch . Nothing wrong or weird with soft stuff like cuddles, kisses and flexing, very few guys will consider it strange . Muscle guys love to flex, it boosts their ego if you ask them to , that's my experience. Missed call could be mistake but not necessarily so , After you left he could realize that for him it was easy buck. As Caeron says above , try Tawan Bar, guys there are friendly and easy going and definitely heard and saw it all and even more.

  44. Everyone's experiences and limits are different. Here in numerical order for short time: 500 is still accepted for street trade (Saran Rom Park) and I do some of my business there. 800 is the minimum tip for 1 hour for most boys in Saphan Khwai and Inthamara massage places, and I do some of my business there. Fee for massage shop separately. 1000 is what I pay for boys from apps in Bangkok or in gogo bars in Pattaya (Winner Boys, Nice Boys). This is my upper limit but many here pay much more regularly. 1500 is the minimum boys in gogo bars in Bangkok ask for and some bars in Pattaya (Toy Boys, Classic Boy Bar former Cupidol). I don't pay that and I don't go there. 2000 seems the average gogo boys in Bangkok ask for. I have been asked for 2500 online once, no sorry. I have been asked for 5000 online once, no sorry. Cute and popular on Twitter, but I have my limits.

  45. I made it to SOL gogo tonight. Inside basicly same set up as it was with Dreamboys, except all new and modern. And yes, the big pole is still in the middle of the stage. Seating is black vinyl bench type like used at FreshBoys. Then in front of them row of single seats . Couch’s set up along the stage. All seating seemed comfortable. Group of 3 other customers and myself. About 10 guys on stage. Around 25 overall. Rotating fairly quickly. They were wearing white tennis type shorts and button up shirts that were colorful. They looked nice, but if you want to see skin it will be below the knees. 1 guy was shirtless, 1 was unbuttoned. I think they have a ways to go in their talent hiring. But that’s my opinion. We all have different likes and dislikes. No twinks. More mid to upper 20’s . As Vinapu always says, you only need one. There were 2 that got my attention , but a big drop off from there. Drinks 400. I had a coke. Brought glass full but not the rest of can. Half ice, half coke, steep price. Waiter I had spoke no English. Everything on phone. Drink menu, Boy info. Operating hours. New place so really pushing boys and drinks. No customers so lots of waiter hovering . I didn’t go to show. It starts at 10:20. They’re still doing a little work here and there. Outside very generic, inside looks very nice. I guess time will tell.

    Hot House in Sao Paulo

Hot House starts from 22h and goes until 2h or 3h Danger starts and ends later. But although both have gogo boys they are different business. Hot is a strip club, where people go to watch the strippers, talk to them and interact with the “interactive boys”/porn stars that do the live sex show. danger is a club where people go to dance and party.
    1 point
  47. Generally speaking, you are right. In Hot House, it is total interaction and what I saw twice was real total interaction, not only walking, turning and jumping around. All interactive boys these days went to the back room and were fucked by customers or fucked customers. This might not happen with all models I guess. The interactive show starts at 2 am, so only the motivated customers are still there. When the light went off the saturday I was there, 5 or 6 patrons came to the models, sucking, rimming, licking and cuddling them. As a matter of fact, patrons were almost all between 30 and 45. I am pretty sure the models may decline some sex actions or sex action with some customers. As for the cute model Arthur Mondero who attended the interactive sex live show in 117, I did use his tight little ass. These shows in 117 were called "quartas intençoes" and were performed on wednesday nites. They did not last long, maybe a few months. They were organized by Ramiro who now moved to 555 in SP. Maybe he will organize same interactive shows there ...

  48. It seems so many want to pay as little as possible. I can't tell you the number of times I hear ( in brasil saunas) some old guy with a 100k USD or Euro salary trying to negociate a discount from a poor boy who traveled 2 hours on a city bus to make some money selling ass or dick. Personally, I pay the asking price plus a small tip....or choose another that is in my budget. The boys also have pride and deserve respect.....
