not mine. I was shy and mamasan sensed it so he told me 'take this guy, he knows where short room is" and before I nodded buy was beside me. Likely he was primed to be gentle because he was sweet , obliging and hot. After session I tipped him then long time rate because somewhow I did not know there's difference between shot and long time and I can hear his happy squeek to this day. Ever since when passing by now abandoned corridor on the left with those short time rooms in dark passage leading from Suriwong to Moonlight I look into that darkness and smile.6 points

From the Thaiger A handsome Thai pancake seller who helps his mother at her market stall in Rangsit has become an Internet sensation. The young man has caught the attention of netizens after a TikTok user, @niwat_kj, shared a video of him following a visit to the market stall at Si Mum Mueang Market. In the TikTok post, the user wrote, “The pancakes are truly delicious. They’re the best at Si Mum Mueang…I would buy the entire store. The seller is extremely cute. Everyone at Si Mum Mueang is adorable. I love him.” The video shows a customer asking the good-looking seller if he was helping his mother, to which he shyly nodded. The customer then asked the mother about their usual selling hours, to which she responded around 8pm. Upon the video’s circulation, netizens flooded the comments section with various remarks. Some teased the TikTok user while others complimented the seller’s good looks. A few users even noted that he bore a resemblance to two popular Thai actors, Jakrapatr Voravatsin and Chonkan Ampornsutinun, reports Sanook. that's advantage of the chase. You go and never sure whom you find. While some people are photogenic and look in pics better then in flesh there are those who are other way around. Going all the way to Kman or Jey Spa and see who is available is not a waste of time.3 points

Trip report (July 2023)
Ruthrieston and 2 others reacted to Londoner for a topic
No reason in my experience.....which consists of about seventy-five trips between 1997 and this year. Only once did a driver try to suggest that 800 bht for a trip to Surawong was appropriate and he was quickly and cheerfully disabused. A year or so back, there were long queues for taxis at BKK-most unwelcome after a long flight. But my last four trips have been fine in this respect. I pay 500 bht plus express-way charges and a 100bht tip. The thought of dragging my luggage to the train or bus (and then another journey if by train) appals me. And that's not just due to age. .3 points -
Bar boys in Jomtien Complex

There are most definitely hunky types at the Complex. Check it out. I’m into twinks and lucky for me there are more of them than beefy guys there. I also prefer go gos over host bars. But a night in Jomtien breaks up the monotony of the same go go bars night after night. Also all the message places at the complex can add to the evening.3 points -

Bar boys in Jomtien Complex
floridarob and 2 others reacted to macaroni21 for a topic
Tastes differ. There are several posters here who enjoy Jomtien Complex and the type of boys it offers. I have walked that stretch many times over 20 years and have not found it of any interest. Like @moistmango I much prefer the sight of skin in gogo bars (even better if on a beefy lad) - not something on offer in Jomtien. I am also no fan of fem twinks which are disproportionately represented in Jomtien Complex. The key thing about host bars is that the hosts are supposed to engage clients in pleasant, maybe a bit naughty, conversation. This alas is mostly beyond the language skills of these farm boys. So what does one do sitting there, nothing to watch, nothing to converse about? If it floats your boat, good for you, but l would say Jomtien Complex serves a narrow type of client interest. Yet I mostly choose to stay in the Jomtien area. I like the proximity to the beach. Boyztown is just a short songtaew ride away.3 points -
Day 3 Spent a good part of the early morning catching up with work and by around brunch time, I am having a dilemma which app to order my nourishment from: Grabfood or Grindr. Obviously I chose the latter. The novelty of being able to have such service delivered to your doorstep during a work break is so appealing to me. Since it's a bit early, Grindr was relatively quiet yet the selection is decent. After 40 minutes, I am making my way down to fetch my mid morning snack - a hunky guy from Myanmar. I asked him if we could buy something to eat first before going up. He said yes but I guess it took a while for him to understand given the bewildered look on his face when I started walking towards the street. He started to relax and became more chatty when we enter my apartment. We had the usual conversation exchanges (where you from?, first time in Bangkok?, how long you stay?) while finishing our snacks. He then stood up and asked if he can go shower. With Ghanaian guy using the extra towel last night, I went fiddling through the drawer looking for some fresh towels when I heard the magic words "come with me?" Of course, Who am I to decline? After another steamy session, he stayed for around half an hour more with us cuddled up and him showing me some memes and funny videos some of which I couldn't understand (but gave it a polite chuckle). After he left, I threw the towels in the washer and hang it out to dry for future BFs to use. Definitely a disadvantage of being in an air bnb. Decided to do some retail therapy this time so off I went to platinum mall. Nothing has changed much since I went last year except more and more shops are doing live stream selling while looking after walk-in customers as well. Talk about multitasking! I went straight to the top floor where the food court is and was pleased to see that the lunch swell has finished. There's a couple of stalls that have Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction one of them a Hainanese Chicken stall that I always go to. One order is around 70 baht but serving size is quite small so I always order two and requests that they put it in one plate to make me look less of a glutton. I then paired it with Mango sticky rice and Thai iced tea (a.k.a my Platinum Meal). Old habits are hard to break. After buying a couple of stuff, I went back to the apartment to rest and prepare for the night. Got myself some decent cheese and a bottle of wine which turned out to be a letdown. Any tips where to find good wine here in Bangkok? When the time was ripe, it was decided that freshboys will be the destination tonight. I was careful walking past Screwboys as the guy working there that I met a couple of days back is getting a tad too dramatic with his confessions of love and proposals to be together. When I stopped replying, the messages escalated to another level of drama. I am hoping that the translation app he uses causes this. Stepping inside, the first person to greet me was Nam. He's working in there as a waiter and I did offed him last time I was there. His face brightened up gave me a hug and asked if I remember him. Just for context, while Nam is good-looking, he's not the usual guy you would off especially if youre after a guy with good built (he's medium built with a baby paunch) and he's not as well endowed down there unlike the guys on stage. However, what sets him apart from others in my book is quite personal. He's a dead ringer/doppleganger of my first highschool crush who's also my best friend. The resemblance including the height, built, dimples, playful demeanor is just uncanny. The only and huge difference I know is that my highschool crush is next level conservative and ultra religious. So I guess Nam brings something extra to the table: the fantasy / nostalgia of a previously "forbidden fruit" now within my reach. For some reason, there's still that feeling of giddiness and warmth when Nam sits next to me and showers me with attention. So I stayed there for the whole night. If I have to be honest, this is my least favourite bar and would be in the bottom of my list if Nam is not in there. The only reason for this is it seems that people working there are a tad more "in your face" when asking customers for tips and drinks. I am not being naive and acknowledges that bar workers from Mamasan, touts, waiters, bar guys are after tips and would squeeze out every opportunity to make it happen. Maybe it's just me but I prefer a bit more subtlety rather than for example one of the waiters asking me for tip the moment he puts down my first drink. Or the Mamasan asking "you buy me drink?" After asking my name and where I'm from. But going back to the happy part. I was enjoying the show especially with my imaginary highschool sweetheart Nam, sitting by my side, lots of cuddling, flirting and his hands wandering around my body with his mischievous bedimpled smile convincing me that "we go home together tonight". And we did. At least in Bangkok, this nerdy, socially awkward and closeted highschool guy's dream came true.3 points

From CNBC Long waits to receive new passports haven’t yet eased from earlier this year, as the U.S. Department of State works through a backlog of applications amid high demand for international travel. While the State Department expects delays to shorten through the rest of 2023, travelers should continue to plan well ahead, a Department spokesperson said. The Department’s message to U.S. citizens: Apply at least six months in advance of your planned travel or passport expiration date, the spokesperson said.2 points

Definitely issue raised hell of debate and no wonder, it's about money. My country has very well established laws and procedures related to taxing foreign income and still often there's confusion and rightly so. Double tax agreement and tax treaties are following usually similar principles but devil is in particulars. It's why my advice to everybody who is or may plan to become Thai resident is to find out if there's tax treaty between his country and Thailand, obtain copy from the web and study it carefully with COOL HEAD, without any preconceived notions. One may find that his income is clearly listed as exempt and stop worrying right away but also surprise may await that is was supposed to be taxed where he resides and fact that he was never asked about the matter or was not aware of may not be relevant, at least for last couple years , depending of Thai statue of limitations. Don't assume that if say, Vanuatu pension is exempt, Samoa one also will be. It should work that way but it is not. There was recent discussion about British pension received abroad and we know that if received in Canada or Australia is not indexed but if paid to USA or Slovakia it is. Logic? no. Fair ? again no, but taxation is not about fairness , is about extracting money from general population. Another issue which may affect your tax situation is whether you maintain home in your other country or don't have permanent residence there. So calm down everybody and do your due diligence.2 points

Exchanging cash in TH is still the most economic option (if you don't have a bank account in TH). Withdrawing cash from ATM, adding Thai ATM fee, conversion rate of my local bank (3% less than bank interchange rate) plus fees of my local bank, means about 5% loss to bank interchange rate. Exchanging cash in TH gives you below 1% loss (was even better before Covid, I think?).2 points

Blockbuster movie scares Chinese tourists away from Thailand
KeepItReal and one other reacted to reader for a topic
From AFP / Thai PBS World For millions of Chinese tourists, Thailand used to be a happy land of water fights, lantern festivals and delicious food. But thanks to social media rumours and a blockbuster movie, the kingdom’s image among many Chinese people is now one of dangerous illegality and seedy scam border compounds — leaving visitor numbers plummeting. Thailand is hugely reliant on tourism, particularly from China. The country welcomed more than 10 million Chinese visitors each year before the Covid-19 pandemic — numbers Bangkok is desperate to see return. But its struggling holiday industry has been hit by viral social media rumours claiming that tourists might be kidnapped and sent across the border to work in brutal scamming compounds in Myanmar or Cambodia. Chinese tourist Jia Xueqiong spent a week in Thailand with her husband and daughter, despite her parents’ disapproval. “They felt it was not safe here, and tried to persuade us not to come,” the 44-year-old nurse told AFP outside Bangkok’s unusually quiet Grand Palace. “All my friends said ‘You go first to explore, if it’s ok we will follow’,” she said. Her family and friends’ concerns were stoked by “No More Bets”, a high-octane thriller claiming to be based on “real events”, about a computer programmer who ends up in a violent scamming compound in Southeast Asia after being trafficked through an unnamed country remarkably similar to Thailand. The movie has some basis in reality. Extensive reporting by AFP and other media has documented thousands of Chinese people lured to centres in Southeast Asia, mainly in Myanmar and Cambodia, to operate online scams fleecing victims for large sums. But most of those involved are tricked into it with fake offers of lucrative work — not dragged off the streets while on holiday — and so far, no such scam compounds have been found in Thailand. Despite only being released in August, “No More Bets” has become the third-most-popular film in China this year, raking in 3.8 billion yuan ($521 million) and super-charging online discussion about the dangers of visiting Thailand. Beijing student Leanna Qian, 22, told AFP that while she knew some of the stories were “exaggerated”, she was still concerned about travelling to the kingdom. “I’m worried that we’ll be taken to other places, such as Cambodia or Myanmar,” she said.2 points -

Under certain circumstances, yes. I don't believe living in Thailand under the retirement visa is one of those circumstances. I think what most of us on the boards who stay longer than 180 days per year in Thailand are concerned about is the retirement visa. As long as I've lived in Thailand, which has been under the retirement visa from day 1, I have never been asked to apply for, notified, had anything mentioned to me by immigration, or anything else about a TIN. No mention by any news articles, postings by legal authorities, embassies, banks, or visa services, about a TIN. Apply for a TIN? I doubt it works that way. If you need a TIN, you would be informed and assigned one. In other words, I don't know who is required to have a TIN, but obviously not required for the retirement visa. I would guess that foreigners in Thailand for business purposes are the ones who might have to have a TIN. If those of us under the retirement visa are ever required to pay this tax or asked to obtain a TIN, I'll be very surprised. I don't even know who you would have to contact, what you would have to do, or where you would have to go to get one. I suggest that people worried about it stop worrying. I've lived in Thailand probably much longer than most reading this and nothing about income tax, a TIN, or anything else about paying tax has ever been mentioned to me. If retirees were required to have a TIN, I would think we would have been informed many years ago. I truly believe few, probably none of us, are going to be subject to any upcoming tax regulations.2 points

Thanks for alerting us to this, fedssocr. I had seen some videos by Bangkok Park before, but that example was particularly interesting. I hadn’t expected that he would be so keyed in to the gay historical sites. It was fascinating to see the photographs from the Babylon Bangkok, which I went to once about 10 years ago. And see what the site of it looks like now. If you have any interest in Bangkok history, the other videos in Pat's Vanishing Bangkok series are also worth watching.2 points -

Chiang Mai in December
Marc in Calif and one other reacted to fedssocr for a topic
December is a great time to visit. I would choose a hotel inside the old city which makes touring around on foot or by tuktuk easy. I was there in December several years ago now (in 2012), I'd have to dig to find the hotel I stayed in. It was a nice traditional decor sort of place. Indeed lots of temples in the city and Doi Suthep. There are also some interesting caves if you like that sort of thing. The Royal Park Ratchaphruek is very pretty. This cave is called Mae On.2 points -

Agree with the recommendation about PJ's Place. Only stayed once but enjoyed it and the owners really looked after their guests. Excellent breakfast cooked to order. It's also relatively close to Adam's Apple. My Way and Circle bar. The owners will also arrange an airport pick-up if you wish. https://pjs-place.com Also not far is the old town bordered by the moat. This is packed with temples from the very old Wat Chedi Luang in the centre - and the large Wat Phra Sing - to many smaller temples in and around the old city, including the relatively unknown Wat Chedi Liam. Well worth exploring over 2 days. In the grounds of Wat Chedi Liam As @vinapu suggested, a trip up the hill to Doi Suthep is a must. You can find cheap songthaews or local drivers prepared to take you up and back after your visit. There are also official taxis which will be considerably more expensive. But the trip is well worth it. Once you arrive, there is a longish staircase before you get to the temple itself. @forky123 has mentioned Doi Inthanon National Park and again I totally agree. Again you'll need transport to get there but it's not too far out of town. Since December is quite recenty after the rainy season, the waterfalls should be spectacular. Doi Inthanon is to the south. Go north and see an orchid farm and take a ride on an elephant around one of the elephant sanctuaries (although the authorities prefer you not to do this!). Also as suggested by @forky123 you can consider a trip to the hilltribes. My one disappointment was the gay bars located in a soi across the road from Le Meridien hotel near the Night Bazaar. But that's just my view!2 points -

Everyone's experiences and limits are different. Here in numerical order for short time: 500 is still accepted for street trade (Saran Rom Park) and I do some of my business there. 800 is the minimum tip for 1 hour for most boys in Saphan Khwai and Inthamara massage places, and I do some of my business there. Fee for massage shop separately. 1000 is what I pay for boys from apps in Bangkok or in gogo bars in Pattaya (Winner Boys, Nice Boys). This is my upper limit but many here pay much more regularly. 1500 is the minimum boys in gogo bars in Bangkok ask for and some bars in Pattaya (Toy Boys, Classic Boy Bar former Cupidol). I don't pay that and I don't go there. 2000 seems the average gogo boys in Bangkok ask for. I have been asked for 2500 online once, no sorry. I have been asked for 5000 online once, no sorry. Cute and popular on Twitter, but I have my limits.2 points -
First Trip Report: Bangkok September 2023
revengeboo reacted to CallMeLee for a topic
I have been a reader of this forum for many years and have benefited greatly from such rich information from active posters - My holidays to Europe, South America and Asia particularly Thailand have been fun and extra spicy because of info generously shared here. Now I feel compelled to share my recent Thailand experience to hopefully help out and keep the info following. Please note that English is my second language and I would like to apologise in advance for any grammatical and other errors. Please be kind to me ❤️ I spent 12 glorious days in Bangkok but I will only be writing about days with spicy bits so as not to bore you people with my other vanilla shenanigans. Day 1 Arrived at Suvarnabhumi mid morning and immigration lines are flowing smoothly. Quite pleased that they no longer require those arrival cards. I always feel paranoid losing that other half you need to show upon departure. After sorting out Sim card and mobile, I marched straight to the designated airport pick up spot as per email sent by the klook app. Pick-up was efficient and after a couple of minutes, I am already in the middle of Bangkok traffic giddily planning what and where to go next. Check-in with air bnb was straightforward. Maybe because its low season, they allowed early check-in. I'm a bit wary with air bnb's legal status in Thailand. However, I am working remotely and hotel wifi is highly unreliable from experience. After checking-in, I decided to give the classics a try so off to Arena I go. My trifecta used to be Arena, Prince and Hero - still wishing Hero will be back! While walking towards Silom Plaza, I can't help but notice how much cannabis shops have setup and mushroomed everywhere! Not my scene but it was surprising how the number quickly grew since I visited last year. As I enter Arena, things flow like clockwork, The Uncle will ask you to sit by the couch, show you that Dogeared rate sheet and will try to sell you the most expensive package. Why do I have to pay 300thb more just for a different type of oil? I would rather use that to tip my man of the day and get better outcome later. While this is happening, them masseurs will assemble in front trying to get your attention. I always tell myself to calm down and take my time but I always feel low-key flustered with the attention which forces me to hastily make my selection. I chose this cute guy with a toned built. He introduced himself as Tom. He then asked me to shower and he stepped out of the room. I was quite disappointed that he didn't join. He returned with his massage stuff and took a shower before starting the massage. The massage itself was uneventful. It's that usual routine where they seem to focus on your leg area. I was starting to get bored and started yawning (so tired from my 13hr flight) and I think Tom took it as a cue to start the more interesting phase. He compensated well on his lack of massage skills and was quite surprised when he initiated a kiss. His body to body massage is quite good together with other things that comes with it. He then asked if I can make him cum which I gladly obliged. I must say it must be his first one for the day! I left Arena quite satisfied and decided to walk through Surawong to plan what tonight will hold. Had a quick bite at Foodland and took a taxi back to my place for a quick nap. Waking up refreshed, I made my way to Hotmale. I must've arrived too early and the selection that night looks not that promising. I made a mental note to give it another chance and visit it again later. I then went inside screwboys purely out of curiosity. The place was smaller and that night seemed to attract a lot of smokers. I'm not a delicate person but I really struggle with cigarette smoke. There's quite a number of potential offs but I am not in the mood tonight for reason I don't know. I made my way out and had a good yarn with one cute waiter from Laos. We exchanged Line which led to a number of proposals later to meet and be his boyfriend! Decided to call it a night and grab a coffee from Starbucks while waiting for my taxi. Starbucks is now open 24 hours compared to closing at around 8pm last year. Sign that things are indeed normalising? Overall, first night feels like a success even if i am going home alone. My session in Arena I guess is enough to cap off my night.1 point -

You did right thing. If you answer yes they will use so called "dynamic exchange rate" which is less favorable for you . You decline , your bank will use their exchange rate and you end up paying bit less for your amount of foreign currency . Goodness! So many memories! I stayed at the Royal Orchid Sheraton several times soon after it opened in the early 1980s and had the hots for one of the pool boys He came from Khon Kaen and one day I took him on his first plane trip to and from his home town. Got to know him well and he was such a lovely young man in more ways than one! One of those beautiful elegant buildings next to the hotel was and remains the residence of the Portuguese Ambassador where I once attended a reception. Portugal was the first European nation to come into contact with what was then the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. When the nation became Siam and the capital moved to Bangkok, it was granted the land where the then new colonial-style Embassy was to be located by the river. The present building remains the oldest diplomatic building and residence in the country. Some years ago it leased part of its land so the Royal Orchid could expand its always small pool area. Never went to Noriega's in Silom Soi 4. Looks as though it was next to the Sphinx restaurant and bar which was popular mostly with expats and visitors. Above either Noriega's or Sphinx was a karaoke bar for several years. A long time before then that karoke was I believe Apollo, one of the original gogo bars where, as in Twilight, after a certain hour - around 10:00 pm or so - the mamasan would instruct all the boys to start dancing nude. Unlike Twilight where many of the many dozens of boys seemed a bit embarassed being nude up on its tiny stage, the boys in Apollo seemed really to enjoy prancing up and down the catwalk with no pants on. I really loved that bar! He mentions Lumphini Stadium. Next to it bordering Witthayu was the old Night Market. I visited often, partly to buy small gifts if I was travelling, often to dine at one of the eateries but also to take visiting friends to one of the great Bangkok entertainments, the Joe Louis Thai Puppet Theatre, so named because the owner was a fan of the great boxer. The theatre had large half size puppets with the manipulators visible and dressed in black. Mostly the 'plays' were based on Hindu and Buddhist legends. But the performances were of a very high standard and all the guests I took absolutely loved it. When the Night Market closed, the Puppet Theatre moved to Pattaya for a while. It eventually moved to Asiatique. It seems to be closed but if not and if you have not seen the shows, I recommend them most highly. And the flooding! In the small sub-soi outside my apartment, the floods would come almost over my wellington boots (gumboots) and remain long after the heavy rain had stopped. It was soon after the disastrous floods of 2011 that the city government finally raised the level of our soi and installed much larger underground piping. Since then flooding has been a thing of the past, thankfully. Many thanks @fedssocr for posting. Now if only we could find some similar video of the early 1980s.1 point

Day 6 My last day in bangkok =( Well had to checkout by 12pm. Flight was about 8pm, so squeezed in 2 massages. The first at Arena Spa. Wow, can't believe I walked there. Opened at 12pm, and I was there at 12:30pm. Only 6 guys working. Chose a muscular Zaddy. Gosh he was fit. Muscular chest, abs, biceps. He knew I liked his muscles and he was flexing and posing throughout and smiling at me, like he knew I liked what I saw. During the massage, he licked my nipples and kissed me deep. And asked If i wanted him to Come, for some extra tips haha.. Well I usually planned on giving a bit more than the minimum anyway so I said yes. After worshipping his body, licking his nipples and abs and chest and biceps, I came while he was laying beside me and kissing me and stroking me hehe.. The price for a 1hr massage for the room oil massage was just 590 baht. But stupidly ( the mamasan always seem to be able to convince me to pay extra - last time for aromatherapy for 890, and now for VIP room ) chose the VIP room - 890baht. Basically VIP room is a mega large room with a king sized bed in the middle. There were some tea/coffee machine, and a minifridge. So ok, got more cold water to drink. But i mean who will drink tea/coffee from there haha. But the king sized bed was good. Got to roll around and have some fun heh. Thereafter, cabbed to Jey spa for a 2pm 1.5h massage 😃 So this is my 4th and final Jey spa visit this time, and I was infatuated with the last masseur - Arm. Cuz he is just so freaking cute, tanned, handsome, charming, he had perfect chest, biceps, arms, face and I was sooo charmed with him. It was the hottest massage I had this visit, so I had to end with him, and with a 1.5h massage. It was perfect. He hugged me as soon as we got into the room, and we hugged and gently kissed for awhile more. Sighs. Massage was perfect, and the afters were super hott. We made out, deep kissed, I got to worship his whole body - his arms, chest, abs, nipples and c0ck. Eventually we came together, and showered together. He knew I was going to the airport after this and we had a longg huggg. I will miss him and I will be back for more soon - well at least the next time I get to come to Bkk.. So that concludes my 6 day trip to BKK! I had lots of fun there, and equally as much fun recounting my experience to u guys. Got hard writing certain parts hahaha.. Hope it helps some newbies / help to stir up some memories / anticipation for uall next trip haha.. Until next time peace out >.<1 point -
Nude Dancers in Bogota and Medellin
AsianExplorer reacted to macdaddi for a topic
Strippers are generally not the main theme in Colombian clubs. Places like Gigolo House and Garage (both Bogotá) are stripper bars where the boys will do a single dance at the end of their stage obligation fully erect. Most then walk the audience offering up a feel for tips. Not sure if that fits the bill for what you want. Many clubs and saunas in the larger cities will bring in a feature stripper to do a 20 -30 minute show during an event. Again, depending on the space, these shows can be completely vanilla or full audience interaction up to penetration -- just depends on the venue and what the stripper has actually been hired to do. So I would suggest just asking around at any of the local gay bars you hit up. Colombia has a LOT of private gay events that feature entertainment far wilder than what you find in the local bars. If you are up to it, you can apply to be a member of Angels Naked Party which runs a number of different events in Bogtotá y Medellín. Good luck with your search.1 point
