  1. Day 2 My body clock decided to wake me up at 5am. Not ideal but I decided to make use of the time to go to 7-11 and fill the fridge with provisions for me and my future boy du jour. Received a notification that my two work meetings were cancelled which means I suddenly have the full day to myself without anything planned. Realised that it will be the best timing to finally try Jay Fai's cooking. Turned out to be a good decision as I came to know later that they closed down for like two weeks the day after. There's already a short queue when I arrived. Had a pleasant chat with another travelling lone wolf while waiting for the place to open. Decided that we'll share and split the bill so we can order more. We were so committed to stay in the queue that we had coffee delivered via grabfood while waiting! Overall, the food was worth the wait. It is on the pricier side though - average one gogo bar entry per order and the crab omelette which was so heavenly - equivalent to one boy massage tip not included. With my stomach full, I can now craft today's game plan. I checked out S'sense and immediately shortlisted three. Given their availability, I booked a cutie named Knott for a two hour session in the afternoon. S'sense turned out to be a contrast with my experience in Arena. While both enjoyable, S'sense gives out a more spa like vibe compared to Arena's more rough and Spartan atmosphere. Prior to starting, Knott asked what extra I will avail. From the line message, there are minimum tips for extras you will require. I was surprised at first but looking back, I realised talking about it upfront made things flow smoothly. Of course I chose the body to body extra 900 minimum tip. And Knott turned out to be a gem! His massage skills is top notch and you can judge by his long massage strokes that he knows his stuff. The way he used his elbows, arms, palm and knuckles was so skillful I started to relax and actually enjoy the session. He was so attentive as well. He asked me if I was cold - however I was so lazy to request for the vent to be turned the other way so I just said I'm ok. When he touched my skin, he chuckled and said "No you lie, you cold!" and adjusted the air-conditioning. The extras were so good as well. He's a well built guy so the extras was more than enjoyable. He's very generous with his body and initiated kissing amongst other things. When we both finished, there's still half an hour left so we got cleaned up and he continued the massage. I don't know why but I felt a bit shy when he kissed me on the forehead to signal the end of the massage. Needless to say he received more than the minimum tip from me! I stepped out of S'sense feeling rejuvenated and my jetlag melted. Made my way back to the apartment planning what the night will look like.

  2. I have been a reader of this forum for many years and have benefited greatly from such rich information from active posters - My holidays to Europe, South America and Asia particularly Thailand have been fun and extra spicy because of info generously shared here. Now I feel compelled to share my recent Thailand experience to hopefully help out and keep the info following. Please note that English is my second language and I would like to apologise in advance for any grammatical and other errors. Please be kind to me ❤️ I spent 12 glorious days in Bangkok but I will only be writing about days with spicy bits so as not to bore you people with my other vanilla shenanigans. Day 1 Arrived at Suvarnabhumi mid morning and immigration lines are flowing smoothly. Quite pleased that they no longer require those arrival cards. I always feel paranoid losing that other half you need to show upon departure. After sorting out Sim card and mobile, I marched straight to the designated airport pick up spot as per email sent by the klook app. Pick-up was efficient and after a couple of minutes, I am already in the middle of Bangkok traffic giddily planning what and where to go next. Check-in with air bnb was straightforward. Maybe because its low season, they allowed early check-in. I'm a bit wary with air bnb's legal status in Thailand. However, I am working remotely and hotel wifi is highly unreliable from experience. After checking-in, I decided to give the classics a try so off to Arena I go. My trifecta used to be Arena, Prince and Hero - still wishing Hero will be back! While walking towards Silom Plaza, I can't help but notice how much cannabis shops have setup and mushroomed everywhere! Not my scene but it was surprising how the number quickly grew since I visited last year. As I enter Arena, things flow like clockwork, The Uncle will ask you to sit by the couch, show you that Dogeared rate sheet and will try to sell you the most expensive package. Why do I have to pay 300thb more just for a different type of oil? I would rather use that to tip my man of the day and get better outcome later. While this is happening, them masseurs will assemble in front trying to get your attention. I always tell myself to calm down and take my time but I always feel low-key flustered with the attention which forces me to hastily make my selection. I chose this cute guy with a toned built. He introduced himself as Tom. He then asked me to shower and he stepped out of the room. I was quite disappointed that he didn't join. He returned with his massage stuff and took a shower before starting the massage. The massage itself was uneventful. It's that usual routine where they seem to focus on your leg area. I was starting to get bored and started yawning (so tired from my 13hr flight) and I think Tom took it as a cue to start the more interesting phase. He compensated well on his lack of massage skills and was quite surprised when he initiated a kiss. His body to body massage is quite good together with other things that comes with it. He then asked if I can make him cum which I gladly obliged. I must say it must be his first one for the day! I left Arena quite satisfied and decided to walk through Surawong to plan what tonight will hold. Had a quick bite at Foodland and took a taxi back to my place for a quick nap. Waking up refreshed, I made my way to Hotmale. I must've arrived too early and the selection that night looks not that promising. I made a mental note to give it another chance and visit it again later. I then went inside screwboys purely out of curiosity. The place was smaller and that night seemed to attract a lot of smokers. I'm not a delicate person but I really struggle with cigarette smoke. There's quite a number of potential offs but I am not in the mood tonight for reason I don't know. I made my way out and had a good yarn with one cute waiter from Laos. We exchanged Line which led to a number of proposals later to meet and be his boyfriend! Decided to call it a night and grab a coffee from Starbucks while waiting for my taxi. Starbucks is now open 24 hours compared to closing at around 8pm last year. Sign that things are indeed normalising? Overall, first night feels like a success even if i am going home alone. My session in Arena I guess is enough to cap off my night.

  4. From Thai PBS World Thailand’s Si Thep historical park, in the northern province of Phetchabun, has been recognised as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site at the World Heritage Committee’s 45th extended session in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, today (Tuesday). “The World Heritage Committee’s decision is a major source of pride for Thailand and its people and will serve as an incentive for people to protect and conserve their cultural heritage, as well as other natural resources in Thailand, which will help promote tourism and economic development,” Natural Resources and Environment minister Pol Gen Patcharawat Wongsuwan told a news conference at the National Museum this afternoon. The ancient city is believed to have been built around 1,700 years ago, with cultural influences from India, as manifested in the dredging of the city’s moats and construction of the city walls, as well as the planning of the inner and outer cities. It is located in Si Thep sub-district, Si Thep district, on an area of over 462 hectares.

  8. From Thai PBS World Paris, France – Elon Musk has sparked outrage among fans of his social media platform X by suggesting he might introduce a monthly fee for all users, in what would be the biggest shake-up since he took over the site then known as Twitter last October. During a talk with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, Musk said that introducing a small monthly payment for X would combat the “armies of bots” on the site. Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion but has since admitted its value has plunged after he gutted its workforce and allowed right-wing conspiracy theorists back on the site, sending advertisers fleeing. X users united in dismay at his latest plan, suggesting it could finally put an end to the site, and analysts questioned the logic of a move that would make the platform even less appealing to advertisers. Musk said in July the platform had lost roughly half its advertising revenue, though he has also claimed that almost all advertisers had returned. Bots — accounts run by computer programs rather than humans — are common on X, where they can be used to amplify political messages or racial hatred.

From Pattaya News The Thai government’s free-visa policy for Chinese and Kazakhstani tourists has been endorsed in the Royal Gazette and published on Tuesday, September 19th. The policy, which will take effect from September 25th to February 29th, 2024, will apply to visitors from China and Kazakhstan as announced by the Royal Gazette. The tourists from the mentioned countries will be exempted from stamping and are allowed to stay within the kingdom of Thailand for a period not exceeding thirty days, as a special case.

  11. From The Nation Paetongtarn Shinawatra said on Tuesday she is ready to become the next leader of Pheu Thai if the party chooses her to succeed Cholnan Srikaew, who quit on August 30. Cholnan had promised to resign as leader if the party formed a government with the Palang Pracharath or United Thai Nation parties, which it duly did. Paetongtarn, the daughter of former premier and Pheu Thai patriarch Thaksin Shinawatra, was speaking at an event to mark the party’s 16th anniversary at Pheu Thai headquarters on Tuesday. “I will accept [the party’s decision] if there is a more suitable candidate for leader,” she said, responding to questions from journalists who noted that some senior party members are endorsing new-generation politicians like her as potential Pheu Thai leaders. “However, if the party chooses me as the next leader I would gladly accept the invitation,” she said, adding that she was set on achieving the party’s goals and had no doubt about her capacity to be its leader. Paetongtarn said she was looking into the possibility of applying to suspend Thaksin’s remaining jail term in order for him to receive medical care at home, but had yet to file the application.

Thaksin has been receiving medical treatment at the Police Hospital for almost a month, after being sentenced on three corruption convictions. His eight-year prison time was commuted to one year by HM the King.

    Thailand tax changes

People in this situation when as residents of one country are required to report income from another country need to check Tax Treaty or Double Tax Agreement between two counties in question very carefully or seek qualified advice. Not always fact that income is taxed in other country means that is exempt from taxation in country of residence. Some countries use concept of foreign tax credit instead when taxes paid to foreign country are accounted for but if additional tax obligation is created they still may need to pay difference. to illustrate how it works (scenario and numbers are made up ) Thai resident must report income of equivalent of 100 000 baht from Tuvalu on which 10 000 baht tax was paid there. If that 100 000 generates 12 345 tax in Thailand he still may need to pay up that 2345.

Type this on Facebook and you'll be in FB jail, has happened to me several times, I have to resist typing that. 1000% correct. Those that don't admit it or believe it are fooling themselves. I could eat pizza 29 days a month, but at least once a month I want Chinese food or Italian, etc... It's like watching the same porno FOREVER. EVERY man I know gay or straight....wanders, given the opportunity or they will eventually make one for themselves anyway. Open relationships (from both sides) are best, no hurt feelings when one is discovered cheating.... Maybe you aren't the one cheating, but thinking they are "only" going to Balcony with "friends" ..... I laugh a little at some older guys, after they have sewn their oats, meet a younger guy and want to settle down....yet the younger guy is in his oats period of life 😉 Some open relationships put limitations, I know guys that can only mess around when they are in a different city/country, Some only can do 3-ways with each other involved, some only with females...etc.

My meaning of whore was not a money one. It was simply meant as men are pigs. Or, sluts. Or, incapable of monogamy. Not, that is not 100%. Like others said, about 94%. I didn't mean one party pays cash for the other. But, in every relationship someone brings something to the table. One may have more money, one may have better looks, one may be smarter. It is always a give and take as it should be. For me, boyfriend just means companion. Often sexual in the first desires but they would never stay long with me if there wasn't more than that. Most of my BF has been 5-20 years. So, I must be doing something right (and jealousy is not part of my nature because as I said, all men are whores).

    Picking a BF

I agree with the first sentence. For some, a boyfriend is in effect a long-term partner where the two share a life, live together, perhaps are married but have certainly been together for many years. For others, like me, a committed relationship may be over a shorter period of time where we do not live together but spend one or two days/nights a week together. In our case, this is basically because my boyfriend's work is very far from my condo. This will change as he is about to fulfil his dream of a masters degree at a European University and then a good job somewhere on the continent. Such is a problem sometimes faced by those with much younger boyfriends. Then there are those in a committed relationship but who live in different countries. And so on. But I disagree with @TotallyOz when he suggests that 95% of "boyfriends" are "whores". That may be true of some or even many, but it is certainly not true of even 95%. When I met my boyfriend chatting through an app suggested to him by a gay friend, he had never been to any gay venue and never met another man for sex. Since we met, we have never been to any bar or spa or whatever. He does sometimes go out with gay Thai friends, but the furthest he gets is drinks at Balcony bar. On the other hand, if by "whore" @TotallyOz means one party pays cash to the other, then this has to be partly true when one party comes from a relatively wealthy background - relative to the background of the other. It is ridiculous to suggest that each pay his own way when dining out, going to iMax movies, travelling both in Thailand and overseas. But in my view that is not and can not be equated to "whoring". Besides there are some partnerships I know of where the Thai may be 40 years younger than the farang but is considerably more wealthy. Does that make the farang a whore? So to carp over the meaning of the word "boyfriend" is, I think, totally unnecessary and pointless.

  32. From VN Express By Hoang Phong Many Southeast Asian countries have started offering 'golden visa' policies to lure wealthy foreigners with longer stays and exclusive benefits but each country has its own requirements. Indonesia Indonesia has become the latest country in Southeast Asia to launch its so-called "golden visa" program earlier this month, allowing foreign investors to stay in the country between 5 and 10 years, depending on the value of their investment. To be eligible for 5-year visa, foreigners need to set up a company worth $2.5 million, while for the 10 years visa, a $5 million investment is required. For foreign investors who do not intend to open a business in Indonesia, there are different requirements. They have to deposit funds worth $350,000 for a 5-year stay permit, and $700,000 for a 10-year stay permit. These funds may be used to purchase Indonesian government bonds, shares of publicly traded companies, or savings/deposits in Indonesia. After obtaining the golden visa, foreign nationals do not need to apply for a temporary stay permit while they would enjoy priority security screening at airports and easier entry and exit processes. Cambodia In July 2022, Cambodia introduced its golden visa program known as "My 2nd Home" that enabled foreigners to stay for up to 10 years. To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have an investment capital of not less than $100,000 in Cambodia. They also have to own a real estate project approved by the Cambodian government. No Khmer language proficiency or academic qualifications are required by those wishing to join the program. Successful applicants will be issued 10-year visa and can apply for Cambodian citizenship after 5 years. They will also gain access to insurance coverage and VIP medical treatment and enjoy unlimited entry/exit without conditions. Thailand Thailand already unveiled its long term residence visa program last year. Also known as "Golden Visa", the program is valid for 10 years and offers multiple entries to compete with regional countries. The program is offered to four categories of foreign individuals: wealthy global citizens, wealthy pensioners, work-from-Thailand professionals and highly-skilled professionals. The common requirement is applicants must have health insurance with at least $50,000 coverage or at least $100,000 deposit in a Thai bank account. Each category has different eligibility requirements. To be eligible for the visa program, wealthy individuals must hold at least $1 million in assets and have an annual income of at least $80,000 for the past two years. Minimum investment of $500,000 in Thai government bonds, foreign direct investment, Thai property or any combination is also required. Retirees aged 50 years or older are required to have personal income of at least $80,000 a year at the time of application. If personal income is between $40,000 and 80,000 a year, applicants must invest at least $250,000. For remote workers and highly-skilled foreign workers, they are required to have personal income at least $80,000 a year in the past two years. If personal income is between $40,000 and 80,000, applicants must have a Master’s degree or own intellectual property or receive Series A funding. The application cost for the LTR program is 50,000 baht but applicants will enjoy a series of exclusive benefits including fast track service at international airports, multiple re-entry permit, work permission and tax exemption for overseas income. Malaysia Last year, Malaysia also launched its premium visa program that allows holders to stay in the country for up to 20 years with a renewal option for a further 20 years. To be eligible for the visa, participants are required to make a local fixed deposit placement of RM1M (US$213.500) with no withdrawals allowed on the principal value for the first year. Applicants are required to provide proof of offshore income of at least RM40,000 a month or RM480,000 a year. In addition, they are required to provide a Letter of Good Conduct from the authorities of the country they are currently residing in. Applicants are required to pay a one-off RM200,000 participation fee; and a one-off RM100,000 participation fee will be levied for each dependent. Visa holders are allowed to conduct business in Malaysia, study, purchase residential and commercial real estate, in addition to invest in permitted sectors. Singapore Singapore has one of the best golden visa schemes in Asia officially known as Global Investor Pprogram (GIP) that was launched in 2004. To qualify for the visa scheme, applicants must have an investment of at least SGD2.5 million in a new business entity or expansion of an existing business operation, or an investment for SGD2.5 million in one of the GIP-approved funds. Successful applicants will be issued a permanency residence permit valid for 5 years. After two years of permanent residence is Singapore, applicants are allowed to apply for citizenship; however, Singapore is a strictly single-citizenship country and each applicant must relinquish all existing citizenship before naturalization is possible.

I was supposed to go to HKG next week but have postponed to the second week of October when flights and hotels are much more reasonable. And biz class flights on QR from BKK to the UK in March have also started to jump up. I just changed my trip from March to May at a very considerable saving.

I am making a plea to be more selective in our language when describing relationships. I had a great time for nine years as a butterfly- in fact, there are some activities that I miss, such as bar-hopping. I took the stats from experienced researchers who know gay men. Play and BF are not the same. But, yes, everyone defines the relationship different and different rules apply to different couples. However, monogamy is never a rule is the followed. It could be sex with a third or separate holidays. Or, whatever. But, don't equate play with BF or BF with monogamy and I'm OK with the rest.

  49. travel between the regions should cost the same number of miles in either direction. The beauty of alliances is that you can credit your miles to any member of the alliance. So I can credit my ANA flights to Avianca or Air Canada or United or whoever. Although because things change so fast in this world crediting to the "best" program today may not be the best choice in the future. There's an old saying in the points and miles game that you should "earn and burn" i.e. use your miles and points as fast you can. But it's not practical for most people and it takes a while to accumulate enough miles for an award redemption. These days most of the programs will sell you miles and frequently offer bonuses. Avianca for example often offers 150% bonuses. So if you buy 100,000 miles you get 250,000. The catch is that you will pay about US$3000 for those 250,000 points. IF you can find a seat this could be a decent value. For example my 90,000 mile business class award essentially costs about $1000 in such a scenario. If I were paying cash for this ticket my guess is that it would cost $4000 or so, maybe more. However I will say that if you are willing to fly in economy there are a lot more available seat options. The Lifemiles program for example seems to always have plenty of economy seats on the route I search most (IAD-BKK) for 47K points one way. But if you want business class your options will be more limited. Fewer flights and more people willing to pay cash for fewer business class seats means they don't make as many available. If you are flexible enough to travel more last-minute there can be better availablity options. For example if I wanted to fly to Tokyo next week there are many business class options on ANA and United for 90K miles.
