In Pattaya now- What to do so early?
Ruthrieston and 4 others reacted to floridarob for a topic
I knew when planning this trip that it is rainy season in Thailand....but not in Bali and had perfect weather there. Was a rainy night last night, so I stayed in to get some rest for me and my liver, plus the wallet. First 2 nights had fun, X-Boys had a great show and after the show, drop their drink prices to 1oo baht. The place has a fun vibe at that point and some guys dancing naked on stage just being silly. Dream boys drink prices are 150 baht, all night I think and has a good selection of guys. I'm not a huge BBB fan, so haven't been in yet, will probably go to Nice Boys tonight but it looks like a few more days of rain 🙄 Grindr has more ladyboys than anything and a lot in their 30's.... Walked by the massage shops, only 1 or 2 guys in caught my eye in the Jomtien area massage, nothing in Boystown Now it's 7am and I don't know what to do, I generally am never awake at this time EVER, unless I'm just coming in to sleep.....any suggestions? Oh, I was going to get an airbnb on this trip, but last minute changed to 2 rooms at the Ambiance for about the same price. I Still like this hotel, clean rooms, comfy beds and sheets, towels, etc....5 points -
don't worry about the rain , you are not made from sugar so you won't be dissolved3 points

Guys speak English, about like Thailand. There are nice sized dicks, and everyone I was with was hard before taking their pants off, lol massage only on Grindr was like 13usd and with sex 26usd....some might ask for more at first, but those are pretty standard prices. And like Thailand, be aware some pics are photoshopped, so ask for most recent pics. For massage venues, Shameless Mack recently did an in depth review of the gay ones in Bali https://shamelessmacktwo.travel.blog/category/bali/ There is 3 gay bars, all next to each other, I like Mixwell the most, is bigger and super friendly people. Depending on your hotel budget, there is everything available look in the Seminyak area to be closer to the gay scene3 points -
From The Nation Pita Limjaroenrat resigned as Move Forward Party leader on Friday, relinquishing his chance of becoming opposition leader. Pita explained in a Facebook post that he was forced to quit after being suspended as an MP pending the Constitutional Court ruling in his media shareholding case. He also pointed out that Move Forward was forced into opposition despite gaining the most votes in the May 14 election. Pita said he decided to quit as party chief after talks with his party's executive committee and MPs. He added that Move Forward must lead the opposition in Parliament to promote change in Thailand, which is not part of government policies. "Hence, I have decided to resign as Move Forward leader to allow the party to choose an MP who is able to become opposition leader in Parliament and party leader in my stead," he said. He also vowed to contine to do his best for Move Forward and the people in order to drive forward reform in Thailand.2 points

Geriatric Australian in Black and White Button Down Shirt
moistmango and one other reacted to Pantherz for a topic
I really hate seeing DOM taking advantage of the waiters. In Silver Sand Soi 4 there is a geriatric Australian wearing a black and white button down shit and white shorts who can’t stand straight at 7:30 pm and keeps sticking his hand up the asses of the waiters as he stumbles around dancing on the terrace. I sure hope he isn’t an esteemed member of this group. The waiters look so uncomfortable and it is certainly disgusting to watch.2 points -

According to Wikipedia, Fidelity has $10.4 trillion under administration. You don't acquire that investor confidence being wrong very often. I'm a long-time Berkshire Hathaway enthusiast. Buffett's annual reports are one of the most anticipated events in the industry because he eschews incomprehensible an mind-numbing boilerplate language and tells his investors just what happened to their holdings in plain talk. There's nothing he recommends more than taking the long-term view (20-plus years). When his class A share first opened 43 years ago, they did so at under under $300. Yesterday they closed at over $551,000. Btw, the largest chunk of his portfolio today is in Apple. But when you have a Dairy Queen blizzard, or pull on your Fruit of the Looms, you're partaking in a company fully owned by Berkshire. And he still has about $147 billion cash on hand, looking for value investment opportunities. Let's hope we're around in 20 years to find out who was right. 🙂2 points

Gay Thai Drama / Thai BL stories

Thanks @10tazione. Fascinating interview. Using actors/singers born in other countries is not uncommon in Asia. Several popular Hong Kong and Taiwan singers were brought up and educated overseas. Interestingly, immediately following that interview with the two guys, you can click on one titled Catching Up: Tiger JK when the interviewer is one of the great looking Korean actors Eric Nam who was born to Korean parents and raised in Atlanta in the US. After studies at Boston College, aged 22 he gained some attention in Seoul as a result of youtube videos. He was then invited to visit Seoul to compete in a singing talent competition when he was placed in the top 5. He was then signed by a Korean entertainment company. In 2016 he was named GQ's Korea's Man of the Year. In addition to his fame in South Korea and Asia, he has undertaken three round-the-world tours. And like many Korean actors he's cute!2 points -

Just some quick notes on Bali..... I'm not sure why it's not more visited from board members. Generally less expensive than some other places and not so transactional like Thailand. The gay life is pretty active, even if it's only a couple of gay bars, but Mixwell is fun all nights, weekends are packed. It seems like Grindr blows up the first day or 2, because WE are fresh meat. Since there isn't such an influx of gay visitors like in Thailand, the guys can be looking to hang out or meet for more than one day. Eating local food is stupid cheap, western food= western prices. I had a NY style pizza that would rival any NY pizzeria, I was shocked. Indonesians are usually cut and have BIG asses, a nice change from other Asian countries I visit. A lot of the guys know how to do massage, like Thailand, but cheaper. I went on this trip with my bf from Mexico, used miles for Business class, stayed at the Conrad Bali (used points) and got upgraded to an amazing suite with a private pool and direct ocean access. I was in the hotel business and the GM put me on the VIP guest list.... every worker knew me from sight, I wanted to adopt/marry one of the 21 yr old waiters in the Diamond lounge....I felt like a rock star. I also visited the Hard Rock Cafe, where I knew the manager from Jakarta, also made us feel like rock stars. Was a most memorable amazing trip, plus between Thai and Singapore in Business class, my BF is NEVER leaving me, lol I'm in Pattaya now, will post something later.....1 point -
That depends how it escalates. The two waiters may not appreciate their assaults trending. In fact they may not appreciate the assault on them being filmed at all given their loss of face.1 point

Patpong comings and goings
moistmango reacted to Department_Of_Agriculture for a topic
An excellent thread, but many casual visitors will miss it since most never realise that there is a separate "Gay Thailand Businesses" section. I have never really understood the logic of that. You do, after all, have people posting about visits to massage parlours in the Gay Thailand section as well as massage place reviews here. There is no natural division. This thread would probably sit more sensibly in the Gay Thailand Businesses section, particularly since you have had people adding in what are essentially trip report notes rather than actual Comings and Goings of Bangkok venues. Besides, it would definitely be of broad and general interest. Nice to see the old Dream Boy site coming back to life. I miss having my view blocked by that giant pillar.1 point -

How can any company, whatever its previous track record, make predictions 20 years ahead? It's all pure fanciful guesswork! In 1983 with Thailand's economy taking off, I guess the country would have been pretty high on a 20 year forecast list. Would Fidelity have factored in the 1997 Asian Economic Recession which left Thailand struggling to rebuild its economy in 2003? Of course not. When Japan was starting its boom years in 1980, would it have predicted the decade of disastrous recession and deflation of the 1990s which left the country in a desperate economic state in 2000? I'll bet not. When the USA was enjoying good years under Reagan in 1988 after 6 years of continuous economic expansion, would it have forecast the 2008 recession which hit the USA very hard? Again, I'll bet not. Savvy investors, of which I am definitely not one, like Warren Buffet certainly look for long-term trends but equally adapt as he feels necessary. Take the Chinese electric car maker BYD. In 2008 Buffet purchased 20% of the company's shares on the Hong Kong stock market for US$235 million and a seat of the Board. He made the investment largely because of the company's battery technology. Had he kept that full stake, it would be worth about US$7 billion today. But because he did not want to compete with Elon Musk, this year he reduced his stake to just under 10%. But his profit is still huge! Just one company, one investor and not 20 years, but getting closer.1 point

From CNN A Georgia judge shut down the effort by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to have all 19 defendants, including former President Donald Trump, to be tried together in October in the Georgia election subversion case. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee announced Thursday that Trump and 16 co-defendants will move forward on their own schedule, with a trial date yet be announced. The two remaining co-defendants, Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, sought speedy trials and are scheduled to begin in October. Thursday’s order is a victory for Trump and his fellow co-defendants who did not want to go to trial this October. The schedule laid out by the judge only cemented some of the steps in the pre-trial process, setting up the possibility that the trial itself does not happen until well into 2024, or even later. Trump’s legal calendar during the first half of next year is already clogged with plans for trials in the other criminal cases he faces, and he is juggling those proceedings with his 2024 presidential run. https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/14/politics/trump-georgia-trial-date/index.html1 point

About 4 years before "The Celluloid Closet" was released this gem of a film was made, "My Own Private Idaho." For many reasons it strikes a chord with my heart as it was made when I was young and the introduction of gay characters was starting to rise in earnest. Not to forget that the two main protagonists are among my favorites. It may not be an overtly gay movie but the the hints and tender moments make it all the more magical and haunting at the same time. It's portrayal of growing up gay is even more realistic than films made nowadays. A tribute to the both Keeanu Reeves and the sweet, charming angel that is River Phoenix. The campside fire scene is the particularly heartwarming. The exchange was poignant and romantic and profound and intense. 💗Mike Waters: If I had a normal family, and a good upbringing, then I would have been a well-adjusted person. Scott Favor: [Laughs] Depends on what you call normal. Mike Waters: Yeah, it does. Well, you know, normal, like, like a mom and a dad and a dog and shit like that. Normal...normal. Scott Favor: So you didn't have a normal dog? Mike Waters: No, I didn't have a dog. Scott Favor: Didn't have a... a normal dad? Mike Waters: Didn't have a dog or a, or a, or a normal dad. anyway, that's alright. I don't feel sorry for myself, I mean, I feel like I'm, I feel like I'm, you know, well-adjusted. Scott Favor: [Laughs] What's a normal dad? Mike Waters: I don't know. [pauses] I'd like to talk with you. I mean I'd like to, uh, really talk with you. I mean we're talking right now, but, you know. I don't know. I don't feel like I can be... I don't feel like I can be close to you. I mean we're close, you know, right now we're close, but, I mean, you know... Scott Favor: How close, I mean... Mike Waters: I don't know, whatever. Scott Favor: What? Mike Waters: [pause] What do I mean to you? Scott Favor: What do you mean to me? Mike, you're my best friend. Mike Waters: I know, man, I know... I know... I know I'm your friend. We're good friends, and it's good to be, you know, good friends. That's a good thing. Scott Favor: So...? Mike Waters: So I just... [pauses] Mike Waters: That's okay. We can be friends. Scott Favor: [flustered] I only have sex with a guy for money. Mike Waters: Yeah, I know... Scott Favor: And two guys can't love each other. Mike Waters - Yeah. [pauses] Well, I don't know, I mean, I mean for me, I could love someone even if I, you know, wasn't paid for it. [pauses] I love you, and... you don't pay me. Scott Favor: Mike.... Mike Waters: I really wanna kiss you man. [pauses] Mike Waters: Well goodnight man. [pauses again] Mike Waters: I love you, though. [pause] You know that. I do love you. Scott Favor: Alright, come here, Mike. [Pats the ground] Scott Favor: Let's just see. come on, man. I Just wanna see, come on. Glad to hear all is good in our gay ghetto and things are moving in the right direction. Hope new bar will be successful and will not share fate of now defunct New Twilight. With Chinese owner there's a bit of possibility that he may turn it into another Dreamboys at soi twilight or BBB in Boyztown , Pattaya with their Chinese customers marching right to the bar without paying any attention to offerings in rest of the soi but that remains to be seen. Hope boys at Hot Male are doing well and are as handsome or cute or both as always had been.1 point -

As of tonight . There is a gogo opening across from Hot Male in old DreamBoys location. Scheduled to open next week or possibly week after. There was music coming from inside, but no activity thru the front door so you couldn’t see what was going on . Told that they were having practice tonight. Owner is Chinese and reportedly paid a lot of baht for the place. Stopped by Screwboys for a few minutes. About 20 guys working and some head turners. Working the crowd, they wanted offs. Some got them just before show time. Wearing white shorts and basketball jersey tops. Good crowd. Almost full. Actually I think the crowds were pretty decent both in Soi 4 and Patpong 2 Other side of Patpong, I noticed the stalls were down to Surawong. I left around midnight but noticed the fine dining of Foodland was quite busy.1 point -

Is there any point in drawing up overall rankings like this? We all have different tastes in men. We weigh factors like cost, language, personal security, differently. Our starting locations vary by thousands of miles ( surprise, some even live in Asia or Australia). Each of us will no doubt have some kind of personal ranking based on our criteria, but trying to develop a master ranking often comes with privileging certain tastes/criteria over others.-1 points
