Just finished one week in Bali
bangdom and 2 others reacted to floridarob for a topic
Just some quick notes on Bali..... I'm not sure why it's not more visited from board members. Generally less expensive than some other places and not so transactional like Thailand. The gay life is pretty active, even if it's only a couple of gay bars, but Mixwell is fun all nights, weekends are packed. It seems like Grindr blows up the first day or 2, because WE are fresh meat. Since there isn't such an influx of gay visitors like in Thailand, the guys can be looking to hang out or meet for more than one day. Eating local food is stupid cheap, western food= western prices. I had a NY style pizza that would rival any NY pizzeria, I was shocked. Indonesians are usually cut and have BIG asses, a nice change from other Asian countries I visit. A lot of the guys know how to do massage, like Thailand, but cheaper. I went on this trip with my bf from Mexico, used miles for Business class, stayed at the Conrad Bali (used points) and got upgraded to an amazing suite with a private pool and direct ocean access. I was in the hotel business and the GM put me on the VIP guest list.... every worker knew me from sight, I wanted to adopt/marry one of the 21 yr old waiters in the Diamond lounge....I felt like a rock star. I also visited the Hard Rock Cafe, where I knew the manager from Jakarta, also made us feel like rock stars. Was a most memorable amazing trip, plus between Thai and Singapore in Business class, my BF is NEVER leaving me, lol I'm in Pattaya now, will post something later.....3 points -
A friend was passing by the new bar on Patpong 2 yesterday afternoon and spoke with a worker putting the final touches on the interior. He says owner hopes to have it open as early as this Saturday (9.16).3 points

Hi guys, Semi-recently returned from a short trip to Bangkok and would like to share a few things from what was my 7th trip to Thailand now. Rather than write a day-to-day account of my trip, I will just include an assortment of things I got up to. Arrival Flew into Bangkok on Thailand's flagship airline (Thai Airways) and when I started hearing the familiar sounds of the Thai language, it put me in a good mood as I knew I would be arriving to my happy place soon. I was fed so much food during the flight, however when we arrived into Suvarnabhumi, we had to disembark into a bus to take us to the terminal. Wasn't expecting this from a full service carrier and also considering how big Suvarnabhumi is, but I digress. Immigration didn't take too long and I didn't have checked baggage so I headed straight down to the basement floor to take the airport rail link to Makasan, where I then changed to the MRT Petchaburi to Silom. I managed to successfully use my credit card to go through the gates at the MRT (although I tapped my card on the wrong area at first, until the attendant showed me where to tap, which was very clearly marked and I was very clearly blind. Hotel My hotel of choice for this trip was the Crowne Plaza, not particularly cheap (for me) at nearly 4000 baht per night, but I decided to treat myself. It was a very short walk from Silom MRT, the room itself was quite large, with a decent view and a toilet with an electronic bidet. As I booked direct through IHG, I even received a small toy elephant as a thank you. Breakfast was included, and even though I don't usually eat breakfast, I decided that I would on this trip. The breakfast buffet was quite good quality actually, with many options that catered to all tastes. I felt as though the hotel was not particularly full during my stay as I didn't really see a lot of people around. The hotel was also very guest friendly, and there were absolutely no issues with taking guests back to your room. You do need to go up the elevator to the 23rd floor, to where to reception is and then change to another elevator to get to your room. They are also quite generous with towels - I tipped housekeeping each day, and left a note to ask for an extra towel, and they gave me 4 extra towels (in addition to the regular 2) as well as 6 bottles of water. I remember when I asked for extra towels at the Tarntawan, they were a little apprehensive to give me just one! Bars I only managed to go to one bar this trip - Dreamboys. I usually see my favourite boy at least once per trip, but I never tell him that I'm coming so then it's always a surprise. This time was no exception. And it was quite coincidental this time actually because he had just finished his set in the show, and as he was coming off the stage, I had just come in. So I gave him a quick wave and smile, he did a double take and then joined me in my preferred seating (up the back) a few moments later. We had a drink and went back to the hotel where we had some fun times. He knows what I like, I know what he likes so it's pretty comfortable. The bar wasn't particularly busy the few times I went with probably the exception of a Saturday. My guy even helped me pick some other guys that I wanted to take back, by advising me who was good and who wasn't. I did off another 2 guys from here - one of which was quite attractive, very chatty (very good grasp of the English language), and very decent in bed, although when I paid him his (generous) tip, he was a bit cheeky and ask for and extra 200 baht taxi money, so I just gave him 100. He definitely knows the business and what he is doing, and I will most likely repeat. The other was absolutely beautiful (face and body), didn't speak a lot of English and although he tried his best, just seemed like he didn't have much experience and was at times a bit awkward. Never mind, you win some, you lose some. He was nice though but probably would not repeat. On my final night, I offed my favourite boy one more time and he wanted to sleep over but I said no because I was flying out early the next morning. I'm not really a long-time sort of person, short-time being more preferable. Next time, I have some catching up to do as I want to revisit hotmale, screwboys, possibly moonlight, freshboys, and tawan, and I also want to visit banana as I haven't been there yet. Massage Apart going to Prime for my 1 hour foot/1 hour Thai or 1 hour Thai/1 hour oil (even went to a new building which I hadn't been to before), I visited Kman and Apollo. Kman first. This was the first time I ventured outside the Silom/Sathorn area for a massage. Getting there was pretty straight forward - caught the BTS to Saphan Kwai but somehow I went down the wrong exit onto the wrong side of the road and I only realised when I saw a sign for Gbeat massage (which I knew was on the other side of the road), that I back tracked and went up and back down the correct exit, and found the shop shortly after. I don't usually book anyone when I go for a massage, rather I see who is available at the time. The manager came over with his iPad and showed me who was available, and I chose this guy who was T&B, and then got to choose which oil I would like (not that it really made a difference). I also decided to use the VIP room which was only 100 baht more than the regular room and it has a shower. It was 700 for 90 minutes, with a minimum tip of 900. After following my chosen guy up endless stairs (as is usual in places like these), got to the room and had a quick shower before the massage started. There is an art to a sensual/sexual massage and this guy definitely knows what he is doing. He was naked from the start, there was a lot of body contact, mutual touching, and I was on edge the whole time. I had chosen him as he was T&B as I didn't feel like bottoming that day, but when he asked to fuck me I couldn't resist so I said that I will fuck him first, then he can fuck me to which he happily agreed. It was actually a really nice experience and I would definitely repeat. I ended up tipping him 2000 as he deserved it, and did a hell of a lot more than some guys I've paid 2000+ for. Apollo - this experience was a little less exciting. After making the trip all the way to Bearing BTS, the shop was really easy to find - you can see the sign as you are walking down the stairs. When I walked in, I was met with confusion as to why I was there, but then the manager (or similar) came over and asked me 'boy massage?' to which I answered yes, and all was understood. This place also does legit massages as there are foot massage chairs on the ground floor, as well as Thai massage beds on the next floor (separated by curtains). The oil massage rooms are up another floor. As I didn't book ahead, the manager told me there was only one guy available, but there were a few more that he could call and they can come in about 10 minutes. He asked me if I was a top/bottom and usually I am pretty versatile but today I wanted to be a top, so I narrowed my selection and chose a quite attractive guy, the managed called him and he wanted 2000 baht tip to which I agreed. I was shown where the room was and then to the shower (which is in a little bit of a public area), and then waited for him in the room. Since the aircon was shared with the room next door, I could hear what the people in the next room were up to. Anyway, he arrived and we got started. A lot of the time was spent with dry pressing, where I was wondering if anything was going to happen. Eventually it did, but it wasn't super exciting, and there wasn't much of a build-up, and not especially worth the tip I paid. Would I repeat? With him, probably not, but they do have a line account where they send pictures every day so I guess it all depends who you choose. Plus it is quite far away! And as I mentioned before, you win some, you lose some. I know that every experience is not going to be magical, but it's good to try! Other things Food - some notable places that I ate included Sunrise Tacos (the carne asada fries are quite nice, as is the waiter with the face tattoos), Silom night market (pad krapow moo or gai for 80 baht, cooked right in front of you, and also mango sticky rice yummm), 7-11 (toasted sandwiches and banana cupcakes are great at any time of the day and night), and Coffee Grinder (the cafe coco was quite delicious as were all of the staff). Grindr - only met with one guy from Grindr (not a money boy), he is from Koh Samui and just here for a holiday. I think he must be well off though as he said he had stayed at Crowne Plaza quite recently, and was now staying at the Pullman. He also had no less than 3 cell phones on him that day. Malls - visited Icon Siam and Siam Paragon, and they are pretty much just same same. Currency exchange - X-One on Surawong road is always my place of choice. Conclusion I had a good trip and tried to fit as much in as I could, but I became tired quite a lot. The timezone is not exactly that different to that of my home country, but my sleeping pattern is massively different and wreaks havoc on my body. Anyway, I digress. My next trip will likely be in January and I will spend most of time in Bangkok, but wanting to stay in a slightly different area - anyone stayed at Trinity Silom or Furama Xclusive? Do bar boys walk that far? I also want to spend some time in Pattaya (not Jomtien this time as I never seem to have a great time there), instead I'll explore BoyzTown and massages around there. Classrooms hotel will likely be my hotel of choice (as I remember our esteemed Vinapu recommending it), and just by perusing the website, it is super clear and has all the information that I need. I like clarity like this. I may also spend some time in Phuket because why not. Thanks for reading!2 points

US authorities return 33 looted antiquities to Cambodia
splinter1949 and one other reacted to reader for a topic
From The Art Newspaper Three of the ancient heads from Angkor Wat being returned to Cambodia Courtesy United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Priceless antiquities that were looted from the historic Khmer sites of Koh Ker and Angkor Wat will be repatriated to Cambodia after officials from the US Attorney’s Office for the New York’s southern district and the Department of Homeland Security turned the 33 objects over to Cambodian officials on 11 September. The objects had all belonged to the late collector George Lindemann, who died in 2018, and whose family voluntarily turned the artefacts over to authorities. The objects being repatriated date from the tenth century to the 12th century, and include a reclining figure of Vishnu with Lakshmi that was taken from the Krachap temple at Koh Ker (the Khmer kingdom’s capital), a monumental sculpture of the seated figure of Dhrishtadyumna also from Koh Ker and six heads of demonic and angelic figures that were taken off a gate in the Angkor Wat complex. The US Attorney’s Office for the southern district of New York has now assisted in the return of 65 Cambodian antiquities since 2012; the latest repatriation follows the renewal, on 30 August, of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Cambodian governments regarding cultural patrimony, which was first signed in 2003.2 points -
In the UK, the historical response when looted artefacts were discussed was almost always that they would be better looked after in better surroudings than in their original locations overseas. Most major ones are housed in the British Museum. Over the summer this institution has now had to admit that around 2,000 pieces from its collection have either been stolen or lost! Some have since been found, but no number has been put on them. One of the"lost" items was discovered for sale on eBay for around $51. Its value is estimated at $64,000. Experts call the loss "the worst in modern history."2 points

Not probably, for sure they will be happy to oblige. First, it makes their job kind of easy ( unless somebody is ticklish ). Second , most of them are proud of their built and it will satisfy their vanity. Third , despite rough look of some , they are genuinely nice guys, no drama, no hysterics.2 points -

The best one is The Beer Bar. It gets more readership than those dealing with escorts further down the topic list. To create a poll, go to The Beer Bar and click on Start New Topic. On the new page you'll see two sub-headings - Content and Poll. Just click on Poll. For Asia/Australia, I suggest you include Bangkok, Pattaya, Tokyo, Bali and Sydney. I love Taipei and there's lots of sex but there are few money boys around. It would be tempting to include Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, but you can't list every city!2 points -
This will be a good test of new PM's clout. It's a given the Chinese will get 30-day exemption. If he can get 90-days for others before high season, it will help solidify his position early in his term.2 points

... putting it very mildly, and not just because of the language. Are you sure you can handle the potential boredom of small-town life? Also, the land route from Songkhla to Padang Besar takes you into "FCDO advises against all but essential travel" territory. To satisfy the need for regular visits to Malaysia, you might be better off living in Bangkok and flying to KL or Penang. (it might even be quicker!)2 points -

I saw the advert on MRT, have to read closely next time. I was assuming that this work only with Thai bank cards, or you have to set it up or register first. I used this in Summer in Brünn (Brno) in Czechia, and not only do they collect the single fares over the day, they calculate if a dayticket would be cheaper than the sum of single tickets and charge whichever is less.2 points -

Thank you for very good and comprehensive report. Glad you had a great time there, at end of day it's why we travel to Thailand in the first place. few comments for paragraphs quoted for benefits of readers not familiar with Bangkok : going from /to airport to/from Silom area by public transport there are two options, one you took with change to MRT (underground) at Makasan (advantage - only one change , disadvantage -pretty long walk from Makasan to Petchaburi, covered walkway though , going other way to airport if using that option train may arrive already quite full so danger of standing room only, not that it's long trip , about 25 mins only ). Second option I prefer is to take ARL (airport train all the way to Phaya Thai, and then change into BTS ( overhead rail) to Siam ( just 2 stops ) and then change again ON THE SAME PLATFORM to Sala Daeng station (another two stops ) . Advantage - you can admire view and get/ refresh grasp of the area, got rate on money exachnge counters at Phaya Thai station, disadvantage - 2 changes instead of one. Difference in travel time and price miniscule , if any. Reasons for comment , on last trip when asked on the train by phone wielding couple going to Silom if they should alight at Makasan I suggested my option pointing that I'm going there now they looked at me like I told them to go through some territory untouched by human foot. ............ towel issue - that's probably the difference between 4000 and 1400 hotels. But yes , in cheaper places it may be an issue to get that extra towel if one expects more than one visitor a day. Solution I use if hotel makes it hard or is asking for extra money (50 to 200 ) , if Ii can I pack extra towel or buy cheap one in Silom market and use it myself, treating guest with hotel provided regalia ...... that the first Apollo report if I'm not mistaken so very thank you. Don't be discouraged by so so experience, as they say , one statistic sample is not a basis for scientific hypothesis. Likely reason for confusion is fact you did not book in advance. They have very extensive list of masseurs and respond pretty fast although not as fast as Jey Spa. I had bad luck as two I chose were not available that day so I gave up. It's far indeed , total travelling time from Choing Nonsi to Bearing -40 minutes but if guy one craves is available it will be worth it, if one is tried by such long trek , said Jey is half way through where you can take a travel break and continue after 1-1.50 hrs of massage there. ..... on pain of repeating myself but for benefit of newly arrived readers since Dec 2021 Furama Sathorn Xclusive is my favorite hotel in Silom area. Rooms are big, visitors not bothered with day or night, breakfasts ample , for economizing there's simple restaurant in the soi just across hotel, close to Chong Nonsi BTS and soi 5 market. Never had boy complaining that it's too far to walk, if they have motosai, there's parking. In short , go for it. As for Trinity Silom which is across the street , last time I stay there was in 2002 so will not say anything but there one member who stays there regularly and he may chip in with comments. Can't be bad if he returns, right ? ....... the same with Classrooms, absolutely recommended, around the corner from BoyzTown, discreet card operated entry bypassing reception, rooms big , clan and well appointed , even with cutlery. Copa is close second and bit cheaper but it's location above Boyztown bars may be noisier although I don't recall issues. Ambiance is similar but I don't like their maze of corridors so stay there rarely2 points -
Kenneth Branagh has something that draws him to Agatha Christie. I only saw Murder on the Orient Express and loathed all the fake cg effects. I deliberately did not see Death on the Nile. Now he is back with another movie "based" on a Christie story titled A Haunting in Venice. From the review in today's Guardian, it sounds pretty awful. "With each new Branagh/Poirot movie I have sat down for some guilty-pleasure fun, and he always brings to the part a basic level of sprightly energy. But each time I have been disappointed by the trudging inertia that sets in – and here by the false-ending, fake-reveal moments which the movie just breezes through, and also by the criminal waste of the supporting cast." https://www.theguardian.com/film/2023/sep/10/a-haunting-in-venice-review-branaghs-agatha-christie-whodunnit-given-horror-makeover1 point

From The Thaiger After a discussion with the Thai Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Srettha Thavisin, Thai Airways (THAI) is planning to increase its flights to China from 25 flights to 35 flights a week in response to the free visa policy for Chinese tourists. Srettha announced after the meeting with the Association of Domestic Travel (ADT) that the government planned to extend temporary visa exemptions to Chinese tourists during Thailand’s high tourist season. The policy is expected to start from October 1 onwards, marking a first for Thailand in waiving visa requirements for Chinese visitors. The 61 year old Thai PM then discussed the policy with the Chief Executive Officer of the THAI, Chai Sri-iam, yesterday, September 11. Chai stated that the airline is pleased to cooperate with the government and would increase its flights to handle the increasing number of Chinese travellers. Chai reported that the airline had a plan to increase flights to China from 25 flights per week to 35 flights scheduled to officially be in effect on December 1 of this year. The expanded flight schedule encompasses the following details: Bangkok Beijing: Elevating from six to seven flights per week, starting December 1. Bangkok-Kunming: Elevating from three to seven flights per week, starting December 1. Bangkok-Chengdu: Elevating from two to seven flights per week, starting December 1. Bangkok-Shanghai: Maintaining 7 flights per week from October 29, 2023 to March 30, 2024. Bangkok-Guangzhou: Maintaining 7 flights per week from October 29, 2023 to March 30, 2024. According to the increasing number of flights to China, the airline also announced earlier that it planned to reintroduce nine domestic flights after its subsidiary, Thai Smile Airways, is going to be closed down and merged with THAI. The nine additional routes will connect Bangkok to nine provinces, including Krabi, Khon Kaen, Phuket, Narathiwas, Chaing Mai, Chaing Rai, Haad Yai, Udon Thani, and Ubon Ratchathani.1 point

Is there any point in drawing up overall rankings like this? We all have different tastes in men. We weigh factors like cost, language, personal security, differently. Our starting locations vary by thousands of miles ( surprise, some even live in Asia or Australia). Each of us will no doubt have some kind of personal ranking based on our criteria, but trying to develop a master ranking often comes with privileging certain tastes/criteria over others.1 point -

Always like to see people starting a wide-ranging discussion thread Premv3. However, as this board is very Thailand focused, it will be interesting to see how many options you get - I think for many it will be Bangkok, Pattaya, Bangkok, Pattaya.... And to be honest I was a bit intimidated by the range and exoticism of your list, LOL. Nevertheless is my list, based on my comparatively restricted travels 1 - Bangkok - Jupiter and Moonlight for gogo bars, and Arena for massage (I go for more hunky guys). In general the range of body types and venues is so varied, and the feeling of safety in the city so good, for the size of it. 2-Pattaya - Boyztown for a Gogo bars, and Jomtien for picking up a guys in the host bar. (I never made much of an effort with the apps in Thailand, as it is so easy to hire "in the flesh" so to speak). 3. Barcelona, and the Thermas sauna. The guys might be of variable physical qualities, but for getting a big bunch of guys in the one place, and for a very reasonable pricing, it’s hard to beat Thermas. 4 . Athens- For finding people on apps (in particular, Hunqz), the best place I found was the Greek capital. Plenty of guys and very reasonable prices. Athens was I found sort of the opposite of Bangkok, in that I found trying to meet guys in hustler bars was not that great, so I shopped on the apps there. You can see my reviews of Athens for further details. Other places we have hired include Istanbul and London. However, although I was happy enough with the guys I got there, I couldn’t really recommend either city as being particularly good for hiring (although both are great in other ways). In London, guys on the apps are a bit too expensive to consider it a "destination" city for escorts. The Villa Giani is worth checking out, although i never actually hired from there. In Istanbul, I visited the Aquarius Sauna, and hired from apps. The Aquarius was a bit grim, and I found that the guys on the Hunqz app a bit expensive, considering it was Turkey.1 point -
only works on MRT not BTS. Hopefully they'll update their systems too. I don't know if there are some cards it won't work with other than the fact that is must be a contactless enabled card which most credit cards seem to be these days - at least from American banks. It's great on MRT as you can avoid the lines at the ticket machines and just walk right to through gates.1 point

Is Indicting Trump A Good Idea?
lookin reacted to stevenkesslar for a topic
What's likely to be the longest jail sentence for Jan. 6th is now done. 22 years for the leader of the Proud Boys. Enrique Tarrio, Proud Boys leader on Jan. 6, sentenced to 22 years for seditious conspiracy Trump's silence is deafening. Although hardly surprising. If Trump feels Tarrio and other Jan. 6th leaders fought the good fight to stop the steal, why hasn't he spoken up for Tarrio? On the other hand, if Trump agrees with Tarrio, that the cops who were jubilantly and patriotically beaten deserve an apology, why isn't Trump apologizing? Same for the 2 in 3 MAGA Republicans who now apparently disagree with Tarrio: that this was a national disgrace that Trump should be apologizing for. Before Trump slithers into a jail cell of his own. My takeaway is that Trump needs to be punished. Had the Trump-appointed judge congratulated Tarrio, he probably would not be apologizing and talking about leading a productive life. More likely he would feel empowered, and might want to try it again. Trump and the MAGAverse are clearly feeling empowered. If MAGA sees any connection between Trump's indictment and Tarrio's remorse for jubilantly and patriotically attacking cops and lawmakers, they are not letting on. They are standing behind Trump's lies and hate and thirst for violence and revenge. If Trump is not punished, like Tarrio, they will continue to do so.1 point -

rightly so. In condo where I live in the lobby there's table on which residents can place unwanted but usable items. If not picked up within 24 hours they are supposed to reclaim them or super will dump them out. Works great. Now you know where my vacuum cleaner comes from and where most of Christmas gifts are landing1 point -

To be fair, depending on your definition of what justifies "danger", this place could lead you down some dangerous rabbit holes. Financial holes also.1 point -
Summer in Bangkok, another trip report this year

Day 7 we woke up at 6 and after short wrestling session and shower went for breakfast. That early I expected hotel restaurant to be empty and to my surprise it was almost full. Back in the room I tipped him. He did not seem to be happy, not that I was stingy. He likely noticed I’m surprised with his reaction so put himself together and said ‘thank you Buddha”. That’s better I thought. Problem with occasional over generous tip is that some guys expect it to be permanent fixture and that was likely a case. Today MA and me have tourist program – visit at GMMTV , producer of so many BL series headquarters in Ratachada. We went there by subway. There;s whole procedure before admission to gift shop on 30 something floor. We were told to leave passports on reception before we could enter elevator. Gift shop was mobbed by Asian girls so we both were bit out of place but they were [patiently waiting when we were browsing screens with memorial trinkets they offer for sale . At end of day nothing took our fancy but it was fun. Then we had coffee in Starbucks in the lobby , there were dozens of fans camping there hoping to catch the glimpse of one of their stars I guess. Then we parted ways. I went to Rama IX Central nearby on hunting mission. One of my most favorite guys of all times , M from Senso is hairdresser in one of shops there. I tried to spot him previously but did not succeed and neither I did today. Hope dies last though, it’s always next time ! Upon return to the room and it was already 3 pm I was surprised it was not cleaned yet but I went to XOne to change some money and when I returned it was already tidied. This afternoon I have meeting with guy I met by chance in one of previous trips who is not a guy from the scene. We talked occasionally from time to time . Last time we talked , one of us , I don’t remember who , suggested we should have dinner together one day . Today was the day. Kao is his name or at least it’s how he wants me to call him. I did not have any expectancies but was very curious to see if something more than talk and meal together comes out of it. He arrived on the dot at 5 as agreed. If this trip proved something it was that most boys are very punctual and on time contrary to what some slanderous farangs may say. To break the ice we went to place across hotel with some stalls and had some Lao craft beer there. When subject of something more substantial came he suggested meal in Sizzler on Silom. I liked idea although I don’t usually dine there but few years ago had birthday meal at the place with two other boys in tow. Surprisingly he suggested we walk there, so much about Thai guys being reluctant to walk. Reason given was even more endearing ‘ we will have more time to talk” ( his English is good conversational although he admitted he speaks tongue but doesn’t write it). That was a good sign no doubt. He was visibly reluctant to order as prices there are quite high but I made it easy for him “ do you want that steak?” , ‘too expensive “ , ‘ ok, one for you , one for me “. But I liked fact that he was trying not to take advantage of being treated. Best part came when we were considering drinks ‘ I have a juice, we can buy some beers at 7/11 and drink it in your room “ . Hearing it I thought I just have a stroke as it was something I was afraid even to dream about , him in my room , whoa !!! Nasty surprise came when we went to settle a bill. Not it’s size ( 2045 , not a cheap place I told you ) but fact they don’t take a cash. . Normally I don’ use plastic when I travel unless not given a choice and in Thailand I don’t even carry cards with me , keeping them in safe box. I like cash. If Guardian Angel did not suggest I take wallet with me just in case I wouldn’t. If I did not it were so embarrassing. I generally boycott places refusing to take cash and now I’m even more inclined to boycott them so likely it was my last visit at Sizzler Silom in this life for that very reason. Uff ! So we did as planned , stocked up on beer at 7/11 near hotel and went straight to the room. Yes, we drank all that beer and had very nice conversation and yes, as evening was unfolding we slowly but surely become bit more closer and closer but that’s nobody’s business. From what I thought it will be sober and well behaved evening it turned out to be quite romantic and interesting one even if two things were excluded by Kao from the menu – kiss and long time. Not that he was in rush to go , I was trying to use fact that he drunk quite a bit to keep him here even pointing to the fact that there’s bed in bedroom a but also sofa in the living room but he was firm “ I drive slowly and will sleep at home “. So around midnight I decided I let him go, I did not want him to get too drunk. We already agreed to met on another day this trip. It was one thing I was not sure how to handle not to create any offense to such great guy. You got it – should I tip or not. I decided to abandon any pretense of diplomacy and asked straight away “ can I give you some money?” to get an answer “ of course”. So I did. Long live Thailand where casual conversation may lead to such great afternoon and evening I thought when he closed door.1 point -
Better to buy or to rent?

I bought a 2 bed 2 bath unit in Bangkok in 1999. I had no other property and so it was primarily for longer term retirement while being rented in the meantime. Fortunately the market was low following the Asian Economic Crisis and I got a top floor 82 sq.m. apartment in a new condo in a very quiet residential district very close to the centre of the city for 2.8 million. It has a pool, sauna, gym and excellent mangement team. Having rented - usually, thankfully, with employers paying the rent - during the previous 20 or so years I wanted a place of my own with my own furniture and fittings. Being the top floor, I had the roof insulated which keeps the temperature no warmer than in floors below. As we sit on the balcony having drinks, we have a great mostly green view with almost no traffic noise. I'm told it's now worth about 175% more than I paid. Not a great return but you have to factor in the dot.com bubble, the SARS downturn and the 2008 financial crisis. Plus I ended up living here far earlier in 2002. So I have not had to pay rent which for this area would have been at least 7 million over 20 years. Total management fees have totalled around 850,000. The flat took a long time to find, but I've been extremely happy living in this area and having my own property.1 point -

Even after years, I sometimes judge wrongly. Unless the profile or the boys says so, I assume he meets me for free for fun. The money boys I meet get 1000 for short time (which for me is at least 1 hour), I reject everyone asking for more. Still plenty of repeat business or new boys for 1000. Not even a question of distance, some travel from the outskirts to meet me in central Bangkok, all for 1000.1 point
