  1. As of tonight . There is a gogo opening across from Hot Male in old DreamBoys location. Scheduled to open next week or possibly week after. There was music coming from inside, but no activity thru the front door so you couldn’t see what was going on . Told that they were having practice tonight. Owner is Chinese and reportedly paid a lot of baht for the place. Stopped by Screwboys for a few minutes. About 20 guys working and some head turners. Working the crowd, they wanted offs. Some got them just before show time. Wearing white shorts and basketball jersey tops. Good crowd. Almost full. Actually I think the crowds were pretty decent both in Soi 4 and Patpong 2 Other side of Patpong, I noticed the stalls were down to Surawong. I left around midnight but noticed the fine dining of Foodland was quite busy.

  2. From VN Express National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines continues to increase flight frequency on routes to Europe, Australia, and China, thereby restoring nearly 90% of its pre-pandemic international flight network. From September 23, it will increase the frequency of flights between Hanoi and Beijing from three to four weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. At present, the airline is still operating one daily flight on the routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to China's Guangzhou and Shanghai. From October 29, 2023, Vietnam Airlines will increase the frequency simultaneously on many routes to Australia and Europe. The number of flights between Hanoi and Melbourne will increase from two to three weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. At the same time, the airline will launch a new direct flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Perth from December 7, 2023, with three round trips per week. Flights to the U.K. will increase from five to seven flights per week, including four from Hanoi on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and three from Ho Chi Minh City on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. In addition, the route to Germany will have seven flights per week from the current six, with flights departing from Hanoi daily. Flights between Ho Chi Minh City and France will increase from three to four flights per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

  8. In the case of Laos at least, the Pathet Lao campaign between the Fifties and the Seventies would have assured that Laos probably would not have developed much in any event in those years, as it would have been either involved in a Civil War, or ruled by a very ideological Communist dictatorship. Presumably the Pathet Lao would have taken over a lot earlier if the Americans had not been propping up the Royalist Lao government. So that would have brought forth a Pathet Lao dictatorship by the mid Sixties perhaps, which would have brought peace to the country at least. However, the Pathet Lao were believers in strict Communism in those days, and it is not known for agrarian communist regimes to have ever prompted a strong economic development in any country, so far as I am aware. South Korea was in a relatively greater state of devastation in 1953 than Laos was in 1975 (admittedly with far less dangerous ordinance lying about in the forests and the fields), but in the 48 years that followed it grew a lot faster than Laos in the 48 years since 1975. I cannot state it with "certainty", but I think it is quite likely that the way Laos was governed since 1975 is the main factor in where Laos is today, economically, rather then what the agonies it went through before 1975.

  10. https://news.yahoo.com/ukraine-war-based-lies-wagner-183213913.html STORY: The head of Russia's Wagner Group mercenary organization is, for the first time, publicly rejecting Moscow's official justification for the war in Ukraine, saying the reason for the invasion was based on lies... ... running directly counter to President Putin's own statements... ...And marking a new milestone in the months long feud between the Wagner founder, Yevgeny Prigozhin, and Russia's top military brass. This is part of Prigozhin's video, which was posted on Telegram: "Why was the war needed? The war was needed so that a handful of scumbags could have a blast and get PR attention showing how strong the army is." "The war was needed not in order to return Russian citizens to our bosom. And not in order to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. It was needed for one star with additional embroidery so that one mentally sick man could look good on a coffin pillow." "Shoigu lives by the principle that 'a lie must be horrific for people to believe it'. That's when the lies come." Prigozhin is referring to Russia's defense minister, Sergei Shoigu, a constant target of his criticism. He's often accused Shoigu and other military leaders of incompetence, but rejecting the core reasons for the war is new for Prigozhin. He says Shoigu is deceiving President Putin, and that the war was also used to enrich the ruling elite. Prigozhin also specifically uses the word "war" in the video, not the phrase "special military operation" used by the Kremlin. Prigozhin has enjoyed unusual freedom in publicly criticizing Moscow, although not Putin himself, whom he relies on for support.

  12. I would agree with a lot of that analysis. However, just to clarify, I never suggested that an "authoritarian" government is, in itself, a major restriction on development. Many non-Communist authoritarian governments, such as Chile under Pinochet, or South Korea under Park Chung Hee, achieved very high growth rates. Authoritarian Vietnam has had very high growth rates since it more or less abandoned trying to implement Communism properly in the mid-1980s. Laos, although not so far down this road as Vietnam, has managed quite respectable growth rates since the year 2000 or so. I get the impression that Laos is more corrupt than Vietnam (the main Achilles heel of an authoritarian government), which may slow it down. But, like Vietnam, it is now catching up with the likes of Taiwan and South Korea. By the way, I am not trying to minimise how terrible the experience of American bombing that Laos suffered between 1960 and 1975. However, I just don’t think it had that much impact on growth rates in Laos since peace came in 1975.

  14. From The Nation The Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant for Ittipol Khunpluem, former Culture Minister and former mayor of Pattaya City, after he failed to report to the prosecutor following a court summons on Monday (September 4). Ittipol is accused of abuse of power for issuing an illegal construction permit to Bali Hai Co Ltd to build a luxury condominium at the base of Phra Tamnak Mountain in Pattaya City, Chonburi province in 2008 during his tenure as mayor of Pattaya City. On August 3, 2023, the Office of the Attorney General resolved to file charges against Ittipol and 9 others for taking part in the issuance of the permit and ordered them to report to the prosecutors on September 4. After Ittipol, the former Culture Minister in the Prayut Chan-o-cha administration from 2019 to 2023, failed to show up on Monday, the court decided to issue arrest warrants against him and some of his alleged accomplices who also failed to show, as it was believed they would flee. Born to a prominent political family in Chonburi, Ittipol, 49, served as the Mayor of Pattaya City from 2008 to 2016. His late father, Somchai, better known as Kamnan Poh, was a local politician who was dubbed the “Godfather of Chonburi” due to his high influence in the eastern province.

  19. From Thai PBS World ฿20 Bangkok train fare can be implemented within 2 years Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit offered his assurance today (Wednesday) that the 20-baht train fare for all mass transit systems in greater Bangkok will be implemented, but it may take about two years, as the government will have to negotiate with all the system operators. Suriya said that the government is committed to a 20-baht flat-rate train fare as an urgent policy, but it cannot be implemented immediately, because several operators are involved, each with separate concession contracts. For example, he cited the need for a common ticketing system, enabling commuters to travel on the different train systems operated by the Mass Rapid Transit Authority and the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company, or BTSC. Suriya said that the 20-baht train fare for all the mass transit systems will not be mentioned specifically in the government’s policy statement, to be delivered to parliament by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin on Monday, but it is part of the government’s logistics policy, which he is ready to explain to parliament.

  20. The desperate state of Chinese property developers was outlined in the following forum last month. Having taken over as China's No. 1 property developer company from massively indebted Evergrande, Country Garden has been warning of its own disastrous financial position. At the end of last month it issued a warning to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that its first half year loss was close to US$6.72 billion. It has also defaulted on overseas loans and is likely to be booted off the HKSE. In Malaysia, some of its woes are there for all to see. Its massive residential development outside Johor Bharu and close to Singapore was launched under China's Belt and Road initiative. The ambitious aim of Forest City was to provide housing for 700,000 residents. Many were expected to be purchased by Chinese from the mainland seeking to park their savings offshore. One such investor was 29-year old Zhao Bojian from Henan province who purchased one of the existing 26,000 apartments prior to completion 5 years ago. He is one of only 9,000 residents. Most of these, though, do not actually live there. Despite the Malaysian government being desperate to encourage local buyers, especially from neighbouring SIngapore, few have done so. To attract more overseas buyers, a special economic zone has been developed with duty free shops, a special income tax rate and multiple entry visas. Llittle has worked. With China's economy now in a very bad state, the flood of Chinese buyers has evaporated. Consequently, much of the overall development is incomplete. There are no streetlights, for example. Worse, the 4-lane access road has collapsed forcing drivers to take a longer detour. Country Garden is now saddled with debts of almost US$200 billion. Its ability to continue with Forest City is unlikely. Virtually a ghost town, Forest City is destined to become an enormous whilte elephant. 21. The leaders of both Malaya, Tunku Abdul Rahman, and Singapore, Lee Kwan Yew, were constantly at odds over the degree of power each would wield in the new Union. There were frequent and sharp exchanges between the two. Lee was frustrated at the delays in getting KL to give Singapore industries the agreed pioneer tax status, and KL was frustrated that its constant requests for a greater share of tax revenues from the Singapore entity were not met as it sought to combat confrontation from Indonesia. Then the two main political parties (PAP and UMNO) started bitter political wrangling, often publicly, in particular re UMNO's continuing insistence on dominance for ethnic Malays in governance. The imbalance in populations between the greater Malay population on the one hand and the greater Chinese population of Singapore on the other did then lead, as @vinapu points out, to race riots in July and September 1964. It was at the Commonwealth leaders Conference in London in 1965 that the Tunku announced privately the Union with Singapore had to end. In the ensuing negotiations, most Singapore ministers and departments were kept completely in the dark. Lee and his colleagues did not want to leave but they were left with no choice. Lee still believed that Singapore could not succeed as a nation on its own. How wrong he proved to be!

  22. After 3 weeks in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Hurghada, as a tourist, I realized that sex with men in those places is somehow connected with money - for sex itself or for some kind of service that precedes it. And I, too, at the beginning did not understand the hidden meaning of the question "are you married?". To a negative answer, local men began to ask "why is he so handsome and not married?", Or they immediately asked "do you like bananas?".

Well, I wish I knew the answer to that question! But in Sri Lanka it seems like they find you. In Gomez Place it is quite overt, the young guys are there waiting for someone to hire them for a massage. In other places, it’s just a matter of striking up a conversation. Eventually it will lead to the inevitable questions like, “Are you travelling alone?” or “Are you married?” After that it won’t take them long to let you know they are interested. Maybe not explicitly, but with lots of smiles and eye contact. That’s something I really liked about Sri Lankan men.

When PAP was trying to break into Peninsular politics on federal level and ethnic riots of 1963 and 1964 Lee was left with no choice other than accepting invitation to leave. Which crying on TV on Aug 9-1965 he accepted.

  27. Yes, I am British. Britain's hands were not nearly as 'clean' in the Indo-China wars as stated at the time. Prime Minister Harold Wilson was a shifty, duplicitous character who managed to convince the British public that Britain stayed out of the war, but this was a lie. Recently declassified documents show that Britain did indeed play a role in the American illegal war in Laos. But I can find no information that it bombed Laos. It did send intelligence flights over Laos as well as ship war materiel for use by the Amerians from Hong Kong to the illegal secret CIA airbase at Long Chang. There is even evidence now that Britain did send forces to Vietnam. In a 2022 article in Declassified UK, it is reported that in 1962 Britain's Military Attache in Saigon, Col. Lee, wrote to the War Office in London attaching a report by someone whose name remains censored but who is described as an advisor to the Malayan government. The advisor proposed that an SAS team be sent to Vietnam, which Lee said was unacceptable owing to Britain's position as Co-Chair of the Geneva Agreement. Then Lee added: "However, this recommendation might be possible to implement if the persnnel are detached and given temporary civilian status, or are attached to the American Special Forces in such a manner that their British military identity is lost in the US unit." In essence, Lee recommended that secret British forces be "grafted on to the American effort in the fleld." This team was sent, and was known as the Noone Mission. The covert operation began in the summer of 1962 but there are only a few further references to it in the available files. One shows that it was still in operation in 1963. As Rhiannon Vickers wrote in the article Harold Wilson, The British Labour Party, and the War the Vietnam War for the Journal of Cold War Studies, in order to stay in power Wilson had to maintain a very delicate balancing act. While many in his party, including most of the leadership, saw the war in the context of the Cold War, many of his rank-and-file members saw Vietnam (for what it really was) largely a war of national liberation. Until release of these documents, Wilson was praised for having stayed out of Indo-China whereas Blair has been excoriated (rightly in my view) for his involvement in Iraq. Wilson does not deserve such plaudits in view of the lies he told. https://declassifieduk.org/britains-secret-role-in-the-brutal-us-war-in-vietnam/#:~:text=The Royal Air Force also,MI6 station heads in Hanoi. https://www.jstor.org/stable/26923428

  30. I think PeterRS is originally British. In fairness, I dont think that Harold Wilson sent too many bombers on raids over Laos in the Sixties. Unlike Tony Blair, he had the sense to know when to stay out of an American war.

  33. That's the general rule but is seems there's more exceptions than sticking to the rule. Thais still need visas to most countries citizens of are granted 30 days visa exempt entry. I know several countries I can go visa free but their citizens can't come without visa to my country. Sometimes national pride prevails, sometimes welcome to the tourist dollar takes over. Certain rules are outright strange. It seems that from October on, Egyptian citizens holding dual nationality will be required to get a visa if they want to visit Egypt but they are living abroad, Strangest rule I personally encountered in mid 90-ties was being denied admission to country my passport allowed me visa free entry but because it was issued by embassy abroad I was not admitted. so bottom line is don't count on reciprocation, don't count on consistency, check rules well before intended trip and also shortly before.

  34. You are exceedingly lucky. Living overseas UK pensions are frozen from the moment you start withdrawing them. If you are now 80 and started drawing it down aged 65, although you paid your full national insurance contribution which provides for your pension, you would probably be getting around £95 per week - or less than 18,500 baht per month! No one living overseas can live on that. Had that hypothetical person been living in the UK, his pension would be close of triple that, I guess. So if you think you might wish to live overseas in retirement, you have to start financial planning decades earlier so that you have a financial pot big enough, literally, to last a lifetime. That and/or some private pensions as well. As for going back to use a public health system, that sounds all very well and good - but what happens if you have a serious coronary or a stroke and require major medical treatment before you can get near an aircraft to take you home? You're screwed (but not as you like to be screwed 😵)!

  43. As I tried to suggest, the sexual cultures of Egypt appear very complex to new arrivals. As a Western expat, it took me quite some time to learn how to decipher 'signals'. For example, being asked (constantly) "are you married" and questions about your family appear to be everyday, polite questions. If you answer no, this is may be followed up with questions asking you to elaborate on why this is the case. Again, this maybe a straight forward question. However, as I discovered, if you explain that you "like your freedom" and that you live a very mobile life, this may be followed up with more questions asking you to explain why this is so, given that most expat men travel with wives/partners/families etc. If you then reply that "well, its just not for me" or other such vague, seemingly avoidant phrases, this may very well lead to further questions regarding your living arrangements ie. if you live alone, do you have a doorman. You can see where this is going... Interestingly, with some guys this questioning may take ten minutes. With others, it may unfold over several weeks, for example, as you run into the same guy at the local gym and strike up an (ongoing) conversation...

Plus my gallery of these sexy ass men keeps getting BIGGER AND BIGGER! these sexy dudes have brothers, cousins uncles friends and fathers who are reaching out to me. What more could a nasty slut ask for? The crazy part about it all is if you look at my page from a few months ago you will see that I used to inform my followers when I will be in Santo Domingo. I don't anymore because the minute the plane lands my phone is going crazy. NOW I just get their number and pics. Put them in my gallery marked DOMINICAN HOMBRES and choose the dik I want to suck and play with. I have a CALLING CARD on every post I make on my superman account. Those guys are very smart. They hear the call and the response is overwhelming.
