Visa on arrival

Just to correct you, there’s absolutely no suggestion about back to back re-entering in what I said. There’s actually no suggestion at all. It was just about the difference between visa on arrival and visa exempt. I suggest you re read my innocuous post. Or perhaps, don’t bother, neither would I ever with you 😂4 points -

From Pattaya Mail A 27-year-old individual, known by the alias “Lee,” bravely recounted his unsettling encounter as both a young transvestite and an online sex worker in hopes of alerting others about potential dangers. Lee’s intention in sharing his story is to caution individuals against falling victim to a similar scam. Lee, who supplements his income by engaging with foreigners on a mobile application, shared his cautionary tale after an unsettling incident. Connecting with a foreigner through a dating app, he agreed to meet the individual at a hotel for a night. Initially, Lee did not detect anything amiss upon entering the hotel room. However, as the interaction progressed and clothes were shed, he noticed hidden cameras discreetly placed around the room. One was protruding from an unzipped bag, while another was positioned atop the television frame. Feeling uncomfortable, Lee moved to a sofa in an effort to avoid being caught on camera. Despite his objections and reluctance to engage in any sexual activity, the foreigner persisted in recording him. Lee clarified that his purpose was solely to secure financial stability and support himself. He made efforts to communicate expectations prior to meetings to preclude misunderstandings or conflicts with clients or hotel staff. Lee also indicated his reluctance to comply with certain requests and maintained discretion about his online work to sidestep potential customer conflicts. To safeguard himself, Lee covertly employed his phone to gather evidence of the hidden cameras. His primary concern is for others who might find themselves in comparable predicaments, and he urges them to remain cautious and prioritize their safety. While he acknowledges the limitations of legal protection in cases like his, he aims to heighten societal awareness to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.3 points

Thai to sell its A380 fleet
floridarob and 2 others reacted to omega for a topic
It's really sad, the A380s are great planes - Especially for those who fly economy and could grab one of the more spacious seats that were available on the top deck in some seating plans. But they were built for an out of date hub and spoke network... still works really well for the Middle Eastern airlines whose home cities are typically not big destinations, but are located well for travel between Eastern US, Europe and Asia 787 and A350's are much better for direct flights between smaller airports; which ultimately benefits travellers as they spend less time waiting on transfers.3 points -
Thai to sell its A380 fleet
floridarob and one other reacted to reader for a topic
From Thai Enquirer Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) has announced that it was selling its fleet of A380 as it would cost more than a billion Baht each to fix the aircraft that has been lying idle for more than 2-years. The fleet of A380 were grounded after the outbreak of Covid-19 and THAI has a fleet of 8 aircraft. Globally A380 are being retired as A350 and Boeing’s 787 are starting to replace the 4 engine A380 that consumes a lot more fuel than the A350 and 787 that can fly the same distance but just on 2 engines.2 points -

I'd guess many of the bars on Soi 4 for just vibes. Don't know about the sex aspect... might be harder to get the attention of older gentlemen who're there for the local boys, not only because of age, but because of other aesthetic reasons too. But I guess it is always worth trying the saunas recommended, and the usual apps... not everyone is quite specific about what they want and it wouldn't be right to suggest that *all* the old farang in Thailand are there for one thing.2 points -

I notice, when you drive in to Suvarnabhumi, there are rows of Thai planes just lined up, including A380s and 747s. There have been there so long, without any maintenance, that the fuselage colours have faded! Let alone the fact that Bangkok is one of the worst places to store aircraft, humidity, rain, etc. Just shows incompetence of the airline.2 points -

While pathetic It may work other way. It was in one of pre-covid trips , I noticed that one of guys I hosted manipulates his phone strange way moving it from one end of table to another and when I asked ' are you trying to record us ?" he did not bother with any answer. Did not protest when I cover it with something either. To this day I'm not sure it was just coincidence, my hyper sensitivity or something sinister.2 points

I noticed that too. I don't think we will have much choice in choosing airports, they close one and open another. I don't believe story about effect of planes on ancient monuments, airport was close but not THAT close. Somebody made a lot of money of selling land and construction itself. only hope is they organize some form of cheap transportation to the city , otherwise we need to swallow taxi prices2 points

I remember the days before the Skytrain and MRT when traffic was horrendous. I once read of a family from the southern part of the city driving north to Chiang Mai for Songkran. To beat the traffic, they set out at 8:00 pm the day before the eve of Songkran and were prepared to drive for 24 hours. By 08:00am the following morning they had not even reached Don Mueang. They gave up! The problem is, as the Bangkok Post article I quoted in my earlier post points out, the public transport system is extending outwards. Nothing is being done about what the developer is quoted as calling "the first and last mile." I live almost exactly a mile from an MRT station and slightly less from a bus stop. For me that is hardly a problem as I rarely have to be elsewhere in the city around rush hours. I have a car park space at my condo but I do not want a car. If I had one I would get stuck in miserably choked roads between around 07:30 and 10:00am as the narrow road leading from near the expressway to the business district is packed with cars hoping to beat traffic on the larger main roads. It would take a good 20-30 minutes to travel the 300 meters or so just to get to that road. Add in the problem of flooding during the rainy season and many experts have stated the only solution to the inner city traffic problems is either to make it much more expensive to drive private vehicles (politically impossible in my view) or substantially increase the number of roads (practically nearly impossible in my view).2 points

From Thai PBS World Pheu Thai party leader quits Cholnan Srikaew quit as leader of the Pheu Thai party today (Wednesday), with immediate effect, to keep his pre-election promise to resign if Pheu Thai were to partner with Palang Pracharath, United Thai Nation or both in the formation of the government. Chousak Sirinil, one of the deputy leaders, is now acting party leader, until a general meeting is held in the next 60 days to choose a new leader and executive committee. Speaking at a press conference today, Cholnan said that, since the party has achieved its goal of forming a coalition government of 11 parties, it was the right time for him to quit, as he had pledged to do during a debate on April 28th. He said that he has no regrets, nor does he harbour any grudges for having to quit, claiming that he had done his job to the best of his ability since he was appointed the party leader on October 18th, 2011. Cholnan said that his resignation had nothing to do with his cabinet post or his status as a party-list MP. He was tipped to become public health minister, to succeed Anutin Charnvirakul of the Bhumjaithai party.1 point

Saudia Airlines is looking to emulate it Mideast neighbors and get into the international hub business so they might be a potential buyer. But if the equipment is deteriorating, its main value to a prospective buyer like Emirates may be the value of its parts since Airbus has stopped making them. The ideal time to sell them was when Thai realized they didn't want them in their inventory which was years before covid hit. The carrier has always waited way too long to unload unloved equipment, deferring offers that didn't meet their elevated expectations. When they did sell, it was always at a price well below previous bids.1 point

From VN Express Vietnam has received 7.8 million foreign visitors in the first eight months of this year, putting the country on track to fulfil its this year's 8 million target. In August alone, international visitors to Vietnam reached 1.2 million, up 17.2% against the previous month, marking the second consecutive month when foreign tourist arrivals exceeded a million, according to the General Statistics Office. Vietnam has received 7.8 million foreign visitors in the first eight months of this year, putting the country on track to fulfil its this year's 8 million target. So far, South Korea sent the highest number of visitors to Vietnam at 2.27 million, followed by China (almost 950,000) and the U.S. (502,000). Nguyen Trung Khanh, head of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said the new visa policy from Aug. 15 will help Vietnam attract more foreign visitors and enhance the competitiveness of the tourism industry. There remains a lot of room for the tourism industry to spur its growth when it enters the peak international tourism season at the end of the year, he added. The peak season of international tourism season typically lasts from September until April next year as Western tourists flock to Vietnam for a winter holiday break. Vietnam's new immigration policy accepts e-visa registration from citizens from all countries and territories, with the visa valid for multiple entries and for 90 days. In addition to grating e-visas to all countries, the government also extended the duration of stays in Vietnam from 15 to 45 days for citizens of 13 countries unilaterally exempted from visas.1 point

The factors that most affect congestion are fully staffed immigration stations, ground staff responsible for servicing in arriving and departing aircraft, and, of course, additional gates. The latter may see some improvement next month when BKK's satellite terminal is scheduled for a soft opening. Rumor has it that Qatar has already started notifying some passengers departing late in the fourth quarter that they plan to use the new facility. This is a pre-construction view of cross section: From The Nation The Foreign Ministry is set to overhaul the visa system to boost tourism revenue from Thailand’s main markets, especially China and India. The move comes after Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin met with the airports authority and airlines on Monday for talks on how to attract more foreign visitors. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is targeting revenue of 3 trillion baht from foreign visitors next year. However, Thai tourism operators have complained that lengthy and sometimes costly visa application processes are deterring travellers from Thailand’s top two overseas markets – China and India. Although the e-visa online application process is now available in nine countries – China, the UK, France, the United States, South Korea, Canada, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark – Thai operators say it needs to be streamlined as it is putting off Chinese tourists from visiting Thailand. Visitors from China accounted for about 28% of the 40 million pre-pandemic arrivals in 2019. Meanwhile Indian tourists still have to pay 2,000 baht for a 15-day visa on arrival. However, this restriction could soon be lifted after the prime minister signalled he wants to expand the list of visa-exempt countries. The Foreign Ministry recently held an online meeting with Thai consular officials around the globe to develop new strategies for tourism and other areas to boost the economy. The visa overhaul will also extend to Thais living abroad. This includes an upgrade of consular data, an e-Help consular app to assist Thai citizens, and the development of e-visa and e-passport systems, as well as a system to monitor overseas voting during future Thai general elections.1 point

I felt the same and and thought it is just my insufficient knowledge of the English language. From Urban Dictionary: teabagging 1. A sexual act where a males testicles are dipped in and out of the partners mouth. Similar to how a teabag is used while making a cup of tea. 2. A practical joke, where a male will place his testicles on a friends face and a photo be taken to embarrass the friend. Usually at a party when a friend has fallen asleep. 3. Continiously crouching on a dead body in a video game. crouching A gaming slang term for masturbation. eating up Well I think this is just a copy/paste error and should be Heating up?1 point

Pheu Thai popularity plunges in new poll
Ruthrieston reacted to PeterRS for a topic
The personality factor in Thai politics preceded that of Trump and Johnson and their cronies. Thaksin was seen as a saviour when first elected PM in 2001. Before then, few Thais seemed to pay much attention to politics as the same old members of the corrupt elite formed governments. I suppose the only ones not to be a part of that swamp were General Prem, although I do not know if he was as revered during his 8 years as PM as he was later in life as Chairman of the Privy Council. The other was Anand Panyarachun whom the King, having surprisingly intervened in politics folllowing massive protests against the government and a bloody army massacre, asked to form his second government in May 1992. This was met with popular approval around the country. Anand was seen as one of the few to be sincere and incorruptable. No doubt the privations suffered by so many in the country following the Asian Economic Crisis helped steer popular feeling towards a relatively new party leader who promised much. And to be fair, Thaksin did deliver policies that helped tens of millions around the country. Yet, despite the PR spin masters, he was essentially massively corrupt and deeply involved in cronyism. Even so, I can recall talking with taxi drivers in the mid-2010s who still seemed to revere Thaksin and said everything would be better once he returned to run the country. But these were members of the older generations. It is the young who seem now to be driving politics. Certainly Pita Limjaroenrat has a ton of charisma and seems not to be tainted with corruption and scandal, although his former wife did take him to court alleging he was controlling and abusive during their marriage. That case was dismissed as false by the family court. The LGBT movement will be staunchly pro his party as he has promised to introduce same-sex marriage. Will his popularity continue even though he has been denied political power? We ought to get some indication after the Rayong Constituency by-election on September 10.1 point -

Point taken. I don't know what Scott456's intention was but I for one wasn't trying to change the OP's mind or travel plans. I was merely trying to manage his expectations. I got the sense from his opening question that he might not be familiar with the Thai scene. Typically, when one is not familiar, one maps one's existing assumptions onto the new field. He stated his height (190 cm) and then said he was looking for someone "fit" and "big". In Europe or North America, this would mean a certain physique with height perhaps over 180cm, weight perhaps over 90 or 100 kg. There are fit and big Thais - but meeting those European standards? Don't expect too many.1 point -

To summarize I must say it was one of the best trips. Social component was certainly best of them all with three members there most of my time so almost no day went without common meals, coffees and gossips. We encouraged each other and gave some leads and I’m sure all had good time. As for boys this trip strategy was not to be too adventurous and settle for tried and tested .It worked amazingly. None of those tried companions disappointed and they all did their best. Wing nights (first and last ) were bit different and boys while performing very well still managed to piss me off a bit by rushing up. Don’t blame them , business is business , they did not read me as good as veterans and still earned their keep but I’d be happier if first one wouldn’t be so greedy and last so speedy. Kao adventure proved that fun can be had outside of scene is we have open eyes and thread carefully but with goal firmly in sight. Him and Y were certainly stars of that trip but S, SK , A , Nuk from Arena , Maii from Jey and MJ’s friend who visited me in the room were equally great Novelty for me was settling down when come to accommodation. I like to change hotels every 2-4 nights but this time I was domesticated in just two. It is more homey feeling when one unpacks for 9 days as opposite to just two. Disadvantage is that if something doesn’t work ( 2 noisy nights at Quarter) we are stuck and need to mitigate things using other means than just moving out. I underutilized Foodland this time since for first 9 days I had excellent breakfast included in the rate and somehow for dinners we steered more toward G’Bangkok but still managed to dine there few times. With new Foodland in the basement of Silom park we will see if those two supplement or will compete with each other . I like new store better but prefer old store’s restaurant not only for memories but also ability to see who is inside while passing by. Exchange rate was better than expected and hold up throughout with XOne still my favorite place to get the baht. I regret only one thing, that I missed that new #4 from Tawan I was sitting with one night and hoped to off the next one. I should handle it differently by booking him in advance for next day but this trip on principle I decided not to do any advance bookings so I fell victim of my own orthodoxy. With at least 5 twinks those days Tawan certainly is no longer just a muscle kingdom. I hope for another trip this year although my hope is dimmed by fact that acting on airfares substantially increased I set internal limit of how much I’m willing to pay. I monitor fees almost daily for various time frames but so far nothing even close to my number. But I play 6-49 regularly , it may help I hope.1 point

i completely agree. I have been to other more costly places such as Jey spa and VCK. they are way more cleaner, tidier and well maintained than Arena. it is very likely that you are gonna see their boys more trendier too. but i never skipped visiting arena at least once on my trips so far. this place is very unique. i am not sure what it is. my heart would be already pounding going up the escalator in that abandoned building. then once you open the door, all the guys would suddenly get up to form a line in front of you while you are welcome to sit down on their old and broken couch. most of the time, almost all of them would be half naked. their rough facial features, coupled with muscular bodies could be intimidating for first timers. but now i really enjoy that moment. i felt like the moment you enter that place, you could feel and smell a wave of testosterone. is it because of their dark and old interior decorations or is it because of those low maintenance guys? i am not sure.1 point

Did a walk about last night in and around the Silom area. Early evening a little rain shower, not enough to put off most. Any Soi 6 massage parlours seemed very quiet. Carried on walking to Sarawong passed the Green Massage, plenty of boys there, again seemed not busy. Walking back, I put my head into Super A. only 4 boys there and not to my liking at all and no other customer. Then just down the road I stepped into Future Boys/Golden Cock. No customer at all, I'm not surprised the boys are scruffy and the place is filthy. As you enter by the bar area on the floor was loads of dishes with left over food. The beer glasses were very murky and the general appearance of the whole place is awful. Why they don't understand the concept of first impressions amazes me. Then they wonder why trade is so quite. Will do another walk around late tonight Friday and check out a few bars an massage parlours I may go to I,19 as some qood looking boys their.1 point -

Part 11: Up north Yes guys, I'm still in Thailand. The reason I've been quiet in my trip report, is because I was behaving like a tourist up north. Meaning doing some siteseeing instead of boy hunting. And I suppose you guys are more interested in the boy hunting part of my month in Thailand than lots of pictures of the beautiful places I've visited. So... That's why. I flew to Chiang Rai where I was meeting my driver and guide Woody at the airport. He is from Chiang Mai but drove to Chiang Rai so he could first show me around there for two days before driving to Chiang Mai together. Woody was actually recommended to me by @bkkmfj2648, who used his services on a previous trip. He also advertises on Siamroads. Woody praying in a cave we visited In Chiang Rai Woody was showing me some temples and "the black house". A museum in a few original Thai houses. The artist had an obsession with dead animals and cocks... I couldn't let the opportunity in the museum pass by to make this picture: Woody is a very friendly and cute boy. Well... He's 38 now so don't think we can call him a boy still? We all get older... Lol He and his partner met when they both were working in a massage place. Besides being a massage boy he also was already guide and driver for tourists. They both retired from the massage job, but are now running a gay massage shop together in Chiang Mai. With lots of nice boys: Classic House Massage. Check out their website. Aways better to first contact them via line for up to date pictures of their staff and so they could arrange your favourite boy to be at the shop when you come. Classic House Massage in Chiang Mai Woody told me that business in his massage shop was getting a littlebit better, but still far far behind from what it used to be pre-covid. Till now most of the clients are Thai tourist. The Falang still not coming it seems. Other gay-orientated businesses in Chiang Mai also start opening up. Ram Bar is having their daily ladyshow again at 9h30pm. Its a nice and fun show. Including male backup dancers. Specially in the weekend this can get busy. But big part of the audience was straight couples just having a fun night out at a ladyboy show. Also Adams Apple opend again. But I didn't go. I was not in the mood of traveling all the way to the other side of town to probably find out the place is empty. As that chance was big as the evenings I was in Chiang Mai it was raining. And from my experiences in Bangkok I know what that means for the amount of guests in boybars... Show in Ram Bar Did nothing naughty happen up north? Of course... But not much actually. One night I invited a muscleboy over to my hotel room after chatting with him on Grindr. A bit older (37yrs), muscles... He could work in Tawan in Bangkok. That type of guy. He asked only 600 baht so I did not even try to negotiate the price... He was a great deep sucker and was also a willing bottom. So that was a good night... A few times a week there are direct flights between Chiang Mai and Pattaya with Thai Lion Air. And that's the next destination I choose for my Thailand trip. Probabaly some more to update you about in Pattaya than I had the last days up in the North...1 point
