For example, we know that condoms are much less in evidence in the young Thai-for-Thai saunas that have spread around the outskirts of Bangkok. I know some readers will slam me, but this young man's life was probably cut short due to some form of unprotected sex with others, one of whom could have been a farang. There are still farang who press their young Thai boys du jour for bareback sex without first ensuring the boys are fully aware not just of the risks but of the availability fo PrEP and PEP. Perhaps they should even pay the boys for the cost of that medication in addition to their tips.

The problem is that someone, likely more than one, is going to die due to the rhetoric he is using. It seems funny in all this that no one seems to be claiming Trump is innocent. Instead there are simply excuses why it's free speech, he's immune from prosecution, Hunter Biden did worse, or whatever. One thing Trump is an example of is a good reason for the 2nd amendment.

We've all read accounts of farangs looking for bareback sex and seem to have clear conscience because they're satisfied with precautions they've taken to protect themselves either before or after. I don't see much concern for the young men they put at risk as others described above. Everyone here is aware of the scourge of AIDS yet some appear to think it's now relegated to history. It is very tragic that these young men have to die from a disease whose infection can now be prevented simply by taking a pill daily. It ain't fair that their young lives get cut short in such a way. Isn't there direct and reliable access to medication for these boys? They're poor and come from an underprivileged background, and many don't realize the extent of the danger that they are exposing themselves to. For those who truly love these young men it is incumbent upon them to atleast make sure that these boys are aware of the situation. Very sad 😢

I went there yesterday (sunday). To go to the club, from Gloria, it is a 40 minutes and 45 R$ by uber. Rather easy to find. No indication on the gate though. The gate indicated "Animaçao" is the entrance of the club. It consists of a large room, with a stage, a bar, a pool, a couple of snooker tables and lockers. Rapid internet is available. There are 4 rooms for private activities. There are showers both at ground level and on first floor. The club was started in February 2023. Boys are rather friendly and would come to your table to introduce themselves. Most of them are local next door type boys. Do not expect to find the bodybuilbers you would find in 117. I was a little surprised by the number of boys : I counted 20 boys. Even though it was raining, even though it was fathers'day, they came. I guess the main reason is that it is free for the boys. Then can play snooker, have pizza, watch and listen to the show. And they may meet a customer ... Of course they pay for they drinks. I received a similar response from the Consulate in Vancouver on 9th August. I enter Brazil on 1st October. Since I'm on a group tour, there's no flexibility of changing the date and enter a day earlier. I will continue checking their website to see when the portal will open again for eVisa applications. Recent Update: It looks like citizens of Japan will not need visas to enter Brazil, going forward. The 2 countries reached an agreement whereby their citizens will not need a visa to visit the other country.

I agree, nobody should think it's a walk in the park. However, time of day makes a difference. After 19.00h, when it's dark, obviously the situation is waaaay more grim then during the day. Night time wouldn't be my cruising time. Having that said, during my last visit in SP I walked through the Praça República at 20.30 to get a burger at MacD. The park was lively, well lit and there was a good police presence. I had my guard up, but it felt 'ok'. I wasn't cruising, simply walking about. I Would not, not in a million years, walk in central Rio after dark! Lapa and centro during the day already demand it to keep your attention high. Given that Chiang Mai did not have a Pride Parade for almost ten years, the tourist director's comments are something of a joke! He clearly forgets that the 2009 Pride Parade had to be called off due to harrassment from local protest groups and near violence from hundreds of thugs wearing red shirts as the police stood by watching and doing nothing. Through megaphones, one group of citizens shouted that the "Parades destroy our beautiful culture." Parades restarted in 2019 but I am told on a relatively small scale. That certainly is worth exploring and enjoying, but gay tourists want something to do in the evenings. Having visited the bars now almost all located on the street across from Le Meridien, I cannot believe most tourists would enjoy them. Hence my view that the local tourist director is talking through a hole in his head. The emphasis here is clearly in "wealthy". I was an occasional patient at Bumrungrad off and on for about 20 years. During that time I have seen what the concentration on medical tourism has done. Bumrungrad can now give you a feeling more like a hospital might be in Saudi Arabia given the influx of medical tourists from Middle Eastern countries. Call me racist but i still feel something is wrong when you see a couple with the woman wearing a full black burka covering even her face and the husband in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. There is no doubt it is an excellent hospital but prices have risen very dramatically, especially in recent years. BNH (Bangkok Nursing Home) on Soi Convent is another excellent hospital and I find its prices almost half those at Bumrungrad. But even these cannot match those in the best hospitals in India which I believe are around half for equally fine facilities and equally trained doctors. Almost all East Asian countries are after the medical tourism dollar. Thailand may win out on reputation and the enjoyment of recovery from a procedure at a nice beach resort. But have your Platinum card at the ready!
