I was interested in going to this place since it opened and finally managed to discover it this week-end. HotHouse is located close to Republica in Sao Paulo, so not the safest place in Sao Paulo particularly in the middle of the night ... Use uber or taxis to get and to leave from there, avoiding to show your telephone in the street. No sign in the street indicates HotHouse. It is at first floor to the left of a street bar as shown in the pic below. A security guy stands at the beginning of the steep stairs. He will give you a card which you must show to get your drinks. Price of cover charge is 40 R$ (and you pay all your drinks) or 80 R$ which can be used to pay for drinks : you start paying your drinks when the total of drinks is over 80 R$. Another option, which is advised : 100 R$. In this case, you are seated on a sofa in a VIP place just in front of the strippers who will all come to you to be cuddled (and tipped) and you start paying your drinks when the total of drinks is over 100 R$. Drinks are rather cheap : beer in tin : R$ 15 ; beer in bottle : R$20 ; soft drink : R$10 ; caipirinha : R$20/40 ; whiskies : R$40/50. The security guard at entry will ask you your name and give you a card (which takes 5 seconds) and then start typing on his telephone, changing screens, typing again, ticking boxes, putting a (totally useless) wristband, during 2 to 3 minutes for each customer. Brazilian bureaucracy ... It depends on the day, but there are around 6 strippers, plus 2 "interactive boys" who will do the live sex show ... and more. Example of strippers present this week end : First 2 strippers, wearing only underwear, will start dancing, then they will come in a sexy outfit (soldier, doctor, ...) and finally will come back with a (normally quite big) hard on and ask customer to put their underwear back on them. You do not have to tip, but it is fair to give around 20 R$ particularly if you spend some time cuddling chest or body or groping dick or ass. If you are in the room (and pay only 40 or 80 R$), dancers will also come to you to be tipped. VIP customers (the ones on sofa) are regularly given a towel to wipe out the sweat from the bodies of the dancers. Then another group of 2 dancers will perform the same scenario. At some point of time, there might be a shower show with one of the dancer in a shower cabin and one or 2 lucky customers will be asked to rub soap on the dancer's body. Around 2.30 am the interactive show starts and 2 models come on stage and start sucking, rimming and fucking during 5 minutes. Then the lights are switched off and customers are welcome to interact with the actors. "Putaria" (as they call it) starts. The first day I attended the show, a friday, the customers were not many and pretty shy and I was the only one to take the actors to the dark room and have fun with them. The second day, a saturday, there were much more people not shy at all and pretty much aware of what was to be done. As soon as the light went off, a bunch of 5 or 6 eager customers came to suck, rim, cuddle, kiss, ... both actors and take them to the dark room for more serious action. A darkroom with condoms is accessible at all time for people who are bored by the show or want to interact together. Voyeurs are attending of course. Another option is Eduardo who wanders in the room, talks to customer, sits with them and can be taken to darkroom. He expects some present of course ... He normally tops and more rarely bottoms. Hot House was a great discovery. I will go back. Shows start around 10 pm with first totally naked models around 10.45 pm, which makes it possible to see the show in Lagoa and go to Hot House (some models might be the same in both locations ...). To see more of the dancers and of the show : IG hothousespoficial7 points

The staff from JQK moved to other bars in the Jomtien Complex and some to Boyztown. The Cambodian owners of JQK have opened Classic Boy Bar in Boyztown. After a slow start they had sixteen boys there on Saturday night. I remember seeing the management of JQK when it was still open, showing a large group of Cambodian boys around the Complex one afternoon in preperation to setup Classic Boys.4 points

How To Locate Lost Travel Bags
dscrtsldnbi and 2 others reacted to PeterRS for a topic
There’s an interesting story on the CNN website. A passenger travelling from Baltimore to her home in Denver via Chicago had her one checked bag fail to turn up. She had had the sense (have any of us done this, I wonder?) to purchase an AirTag, Apple’s tracking device for luggage. Although United Airlines kept advising that the bag would turn up, she knew that the bag was actually at O’Hare. She also saw it was eventually moved 50 yards. After days United still denied any knowledge of the bag suggesting instead she just register a claim for financial compensation. But the content of the bag was very important to her. So she finally spent 30,000 air miles and flew herself to Chicago where she quickly found her bag! United eventually refunded her 30,000 miles. As air travel has increased dramatically, so have the number of lost bags. In this case, the problem had occurred because the bag had been wrongly tagged. To me the moral is pretty simple. Always check that your bag has been correctly tagged (which I do) and attach it to an Air Tag (which I am now about to buy). These can be purchased in Thailand and from amazon and are cheap. I’m not sure how effective those for US$10 are, but the first pair of waterproof ones developed by Elevation Lab for Apple for $30 get almost exclusively extremely good reviews. https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/airtag-lost-luggage-flight/index.html https://www.amazon.com/TagVault-Waterproof-Keychain-Ultra-Durable-Elevation/dp/B09CC4T49N/ref=sxin_16_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?adgrpid=82658710798&content-id=amzn1.sym.1c86ab1a-a73c-4131-85f1-15bd92ae152d%3Aamzn1.sym.1c86ab1a-a73c-4131-85f1-15bd92ae152d&cv_ct_cx=airtags%2B2%2Bpack&hvadid=585475089740&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=1012728&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=16817201679711258651&hvtargid=kwd-1263104292419&hydadcr=744_1014988874&keywords=airtags%2B2%2Bpack&pd_rd_i=B09CC4T49N&pd_rd_r=3a526715-a932-4320-a600-297acbd5160b&pd_rd_w=nfTLA&pd_rd_wg=kRa0D&pf_rd_p=1c86ab1a-a73c-4131-85f1-15bd92ae152d&pf_rd_r=XYMH5CFTRWQE1RGX3J97&qid=1691386006&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sr=1-3-364cf978-ce2a-480a-9bb0-bdb96faa0f61-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&th=13 points -

I’m back! Bangkok trip report July 2023
revengeboo and 2 others reacted to Bravo for a topic
Day 6 My last day in bangkok =( Well had to checkout by 12pm. Flight was about 8pm, so squeezed in 2 massages. The first at Arena Spa. Wow, can't believe I walked there. Opened at 12pm, and I was there at 12:30pm. Only 6 guys working. Chose a muscular Zaddy. Gosh he was fit. Muscular chest, abs, biceps. He knew I liked his muscles and he was flexing and posing throughout and smiling at me, like he knew I liked what I saw. During the massage, he licked my nipples and kissed me deep. And asked If i wanted him to Come, for some extra tips haha.. Well I usually planned on giving a bit more than the minimum anyway so I said yes. After worshipping his body, licking his nipples and abs and chest and biceps, I came while he was laying beside me and kissing me and stroking me hehe.. The price for a 1hr massage for the room oil massage was just 590 baht. But stupidly ( the mamasan always seem to be able to convince me to pay extra - last time for aromatherapy for 890, and now for VIP room ) chose the VIP room - 890baht. Basically VIP room is a mega large room with a king sized bed in the middle. There were some tea/coffee machine, and a minifridge. So ok, got more cold water to drink. But i mean who will drink tea/coffee from there haha. But the king sized bed was good. Got to roll around and have some fun heh. Thereafter, cabbed to Jey spa for a 2pm 1.5h massage 😃 So this is my 4th and final Jey spa visit this time, and I was infatuated with the last masseur - Arm. Cuz he is just so freaking cute, tanned, handsome, charming, he had perfect chest, biceps, arms, face and I was sooo charmed with him. It was the hottest massage I had this visit, so I had to end with him, and with a 1.5h massage. It was perfect. He hugged me as soon as we got into the room, and we hugged and gently kissed for awhile more. Sighs. Massage was perfect, and the afters were super hott. We made out, deep kissed, I got to worship his whole body - his arms, chest, abs, nipples and c0ck. Eventually we came together, and showered together. He knew I was going to the airport after this and we had a longg huggg. I will miss him and I will be back for more soon - well at least the next time I get to come to Bkk.. So that concludes my 6 day trip to BKK! I had lots of fun there, and equally as much fun recounting my experience to u guys. Got hard writing certain parts hahaha.. Hope it helps some newbies / help to stir up some memories / anticipation for uall next trip haha.. Until next time peace out >.<3 points -
Over a year ago, sydneyboy1 started an interesting thread on the status of Clube 555 (heir to Fragata) in São Paulo. Most posters were impressed with the facility but not the GPs. If you are interested in São Paulo options to Lagoa (such as Pauleiro's account today of HotHouse), you might want to look over those May 2022 posts about Clube 555 along with this update below. I thought sure that Clube 555 was defunct. It had been closed down when I previously tried to visit. But I was wrong. It turns out that São Paulo does in fact have a second, active, real GP sauna after all. After two weeks of going daily to Lagoa, I ventured over to Clube 555 on Sunday night, a short $3 Uber from my hotel by Avenida Paulista. Here is what I found: ● Big downstairs with the stage, bar, pool, over 20 tables, was filled (50+ people) for the 9:20 lipsync, bingo, go-go boy show. (See partial photo of the airy area below.) ● A year ago travelers here were wondering if 555 could survive! Even if Sunday is 555's top night and I did not have a perfect sample, it sure looked like 555 is doing OK if not thriving. So I think it's good news that Lagoa seems to have at a least a little competition, even if not with our crowd. ● Credit where credit is due. Clube 555's facility is clearly superior and far more spacious than Lagoa's. Instead Lagoa's tiny, cramped changing room, the one at 555 is nearly three time larger. The two bar/dining areas at 555 seem over three times larger than the two compact spaces at Lagoa. The steam room at 555 is more than double that of Lagoa. Also, for those who hate steps, 555 is spread over three large floors, instead of four floors like Lagoa. Pictured below is the large changing room and the second bar/dining area. ● Obvious issue: What about the talent? Outside of the "Lagoa-looking" go-go boys, I did not see any beefy, good-looking guys that you might see at Logoa. Guys at 555 were generally more swimmer types, not US football players. (Well, plus a few out of shape.) None at 555 were distinctly Euro or Afro; all were handsome Brazilian shades in between. They were not nearly as pushy as many Lagoa GPs. I had two good connections. One was a str8, trim, toned, handsome, hung newbie and the other a masculine, gay, trim, toned, passionate btm. Both seemed far more surprised and thrilled to get a RS50 tip (up from 150) than any GP at Lagoa. I cannot dispute the 2022 critics who identified 555's chief deficit as its lack of more top tier GPs. That is still the case in 2023. And yet, I got lucky. ● Suggestions: I still share the consensus recommendation here that Lagoa be your default sauna destination, especially if you are in SP for no more than a week or so. However, if you stay longer and are looking for some variety and change of scene, you might find it interesting to go explore 555, ideally on a weekend night. And you can always quickly retreat to Lagoa in a cheap taxi. Don't know about other nights but the Sunday show starts at 9:00 (BT so more like 9:20). Before 7:30 it will look pretty empty, but then it starts filling up. Website: http://www.clube555.com.br/2 points

I flew out of the US east coast on a CX A359 in the three-class configuration in May and it went out full. They have 47 350's currently in the fleet. Future wide body orders are for 21 Boeing 777-9's (aka, 777X). CX has 37 777-300ER and 17 777-300's in use. The carrier appears to be benefiting from the delayed return of the major China carriers to international service. It was my first CX flight and I came away satisfied with the service and on-time performance. I was surprised just how cool the cabin temperature was maintained after the initial meal service was completed. Fortunately, they provide a substantial comforter. CX has reopened its BKK lounge.2 points

Other than checking with insurance companies both in Thaland and overseas, I just don't know. The cut off date for most medical insurance seems to be 65 but there are travel companies that offer short-term insurance for travellers into their 80s. I found this company on the internet which implies it offers insurance for older people. I know nothing about it, though. Checking any policy is obviously important as many add additional restrictions for over-65's and if you need a policy that is in effect also outside Thailand. https://sbc-insurance.live/zurich_coris?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc_poisk&utm_campaign=TRAVELES_CORIS_Search&utm_adgroupid=Traveles_Coris_Zurich&utm_content=ob'avlenie_1&utm_placement=&utm_term=senior citizen travel insurance&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3rrWqOvJgAMVHtMWBR0A0gUrEAAYASAAEgInZ_D_BwE2 points

Depite the doom and gloom in my earlier post, I do think Hong Kong is still worth visiting for stopovers or short trips, the more so as there are fewer tourists and crowds. The sights are still well worth seeing, shopping remains competitive with most Asian cities due to the absence of any sales tax (except on perfumes, liquor and tobacco products), the gay bars and saunas are especially busy at the week-ends and some of the guys are stunning. Historically It also remains a fascinating city. As for Cathay Pacific, it opted out of the mega aircraft market by not replacing any of its 747 fleet with A380s. Consequently, for example, pre-coved it ran 5 services daily to London and 4 to New York. Whereas many airlines dependant on long-haul services have brought their once thought of as obsolete A380s back into service (Singapore Airlines has 12 of which 10 are now operating again), CX depends on ageing and smaller A330s and 777s complemented by the newer A350s as its long haul fleet. Stil, wth an average age of 11 years, its fleet is still relatively young compared to some of the behemoths of the sky.2 points

With respect to @Boy69's view, I believe the real dissatisfaction was pronounced after the Elite programme had been running for about a dozen years. The first Thaksin government's Ministry of Tourism set it up specifically to attract more of the rich and famous to visit Thailand more regularly and for longer stays with less hassle. It was never intended as a replacement for a retirement visa. But that policy rarely worked and its membership remained massively behind projections. The government did consider abandoning it at that time but then decided to keep it going with some enhanced benefits. Too much loss of face would have resulted from cancellation! I believe the programme was rescued by covid. Since it was easier to get back to Thailand with an Elite visa, the number of applications mushroomed. This started just after the idiotic Immigration Director changed the rules and insisted on the 800,000/400,000 bank deposit route for those seeking retirement visas on an annual basis rather than transferring monthly payments. As a result, the Elite programme seemed a more ideal retirement route, even though it was cash out and not returned. Now, though, building on what i believe was a temporary house of cards, the management gurus have decided demand is there for them to make much more profit from the Elite programme. It's my view that they want to remove it as a retirement option and go back to the original plan of regular cash rich tourists. After all, who'd pay 900,000 baht cash with no cash return for a 5-years visa when the 800,000 route involves less outlay and money back on departure from Thailand - or death! Mind you, that presumes that the 800,000/400,000 route remains unchanged, and that is something I would never assume. As far as I can find out on the internet, the "retirement" visa programme in Thailand was introduced in 1998 after the hugely damaging effects of the Asian Economic Crisis. I do not know if the monthly incoming transfer had then to be 65K baht. If so, then I fear someone in Immigration will also be looking at ways to increase that amount. And then wait for the mandatory medical insurance! The land of smiles is certainly becoming less appealing.2 points

From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Thailand regularly appears in the top ten destinations chosen by foreigners wanting to retire abroad. Unlike other south east Asian countries, Thailand does not offer a retiree visa as such but a number of choices aimed specifically or partially at this market. Non-immigrant “O” visa conversion This is the most popular route at present. A foreigner aged at least 50 enters the country with a visa exempt or tourist visa (30 or 60 days) and applies at local immigration to convert it to a three months non-immigrant “O” and thence to an annual extension of stay based on retirement. Typically, the financial requirement is 800,000 baht in a Thai bank or proof of monthly transfers to Thailand of at least 65,000 baht. The detailed bureaucracy varies in immigration offices nationwide and several embassies now refuse to get involved in certifying the creditworthiness of their own nationals. One big attraction for many of the non-immigrant “O” route is that, to date, medical insurance is not required and the paperwork is fairly straightforward. A foreigner with a foreign spouse will be treated as separate individuals and both must provide the financial guarantee. When leaving the country, re-entry permits must be obtained and the 90 days address reporting is in play. Applicants who are short of cash at the time of application or annual renewal are not forbidden from “borrowing” cash from third parties as the check is only on the amounts in the applicant’s bank book. The cost of the visa is 1,900 baht (US$60) assuming no extras have been accumulated along the way. Non-immigrant “O/A” long stay visa This is a 12 months visa offered by Thai embassies abroad to retiree applicants, with or without a multiple entry built in. The financial requirements are similar to the “O” extension of stay, but there are additional documents such as a medical certificate illustrating freedom from certain diseases. The visa can be renewed annually at Thai immigration offices. The big problem with the O/A option is that comprehensive medical insurance is required from day one and continues with every annual extension. The Thai Cabinet authorized an annual sum of US$100,000 or 3 million baht. Many retirees have tried to get rid of their O/A and change to “O” extension of stay, but this cannot be done without leaving the country and altering visa status overseas. The cost of OA annually is 1,900 baht (US$60) assuming all the documentation is in order. “O/X” ten year retiree visa This little-known option was introduced in late 2016 and offered a ten year multiple entry stay (actually 5×2 years) to retirees aged at least 50 in 14 countries including UK, US, Australia and some EU states. It was available at Thai embassies abroad and at immigration offices in Thailand. The visa never became airborne as the bureaucracy was complex, requiring a crime-free certificate from the home country and an investment of 3 million baht in a Thai bank. Options were available to include spouses and dependent children in the visa allocation. However, the visa did specify that working as a volunteer was OK although no detail was set out. Neither the immigration bureau nor the Thai Cabinet ever issued updates on the visa which is usually assumed to have been stillborn. The fee was 10,000 baht. The Elite visa Current enrolments are said to be around 30,000 all told. The Elite visa is not specifically aimed at retirees and there are no age bars. Although there are several variants, the most popular option is the five years, multi-entry choice currently available for a one-off payment of 600,000 baht and renewable. 10 and 20 year options with family guarantees are also available. Attractions for the retiree market include no need for medical insurance and no requirement to show updated bank account details every year. The visa also includes some special privileges such as fast-track at Thai airports which has been favorably reported by customers, particularly in the past year or so. Long Term Residence Introduced in 2022 by the Board of Investment, the LTR is a 10 year open visa designed to attract high spenders and investors from overseas. The four categories do include one specifically aimed at retirees over 50 which has so far attracted over 1,000 initial applications (32 percent of the total). The wealthy pensioner is expected to show a substantial regular income as well as evidence of investment such as Thai property or Thai bonds. All LTR applicants must show medical insurance. The overall idea is to encourage settlement by foreign millionaires. The LTR has not attracted the international interest originally anticipated and is perhaps best suited to economic experts and investors keen to take advantage of generous tax breaks. The enrolment fee is 50,000 baht and reporting to immigration is once a year rather than three-monthly. Conclusions For retirees, the cheapest and most flexible option is the annual extension of stay, although the Elite visa with its initial down payment and no further financial checks is increasingly being seen in a favorable light. The LTR and the stillborn “O/X” both suffer from complex enrolment bureaucracy and neither offers significant advantages to foreign retirees. None of the visas avoid the need for a work permit for regular employment, although side issues such as being a member of a condominium committee or helping to organize occasional sports or entertainment activities are no longer seen as breaches of the alien labour act. The biggest unknown is the future of medical insurance as a compulsory element in applications. At present, the most popular routes for retirees aged over 50 – the non immigrant “O” and Elite choices – have no such requirement. If that policy was changed and enforced, the proverbial cat would certainly appear amongst the pigeons. Older retirees are the expats whom insurance companies most want to avoid.1 point

Is Indicting Trump A Good Idea?
forky123 reacted to stevenkesslar for a topic
Yup. You are wrong again. We're friends here. So I can be blunt, right? Please @EmmetK. Keep being you. Stay gold. Stay true to yourself. Do what you do. Please. When the anger and lies and basic lack of decency ooze out of the MAGAverse, it just turns people off. Like the wine Moms. Hell. My McCain-loving brother ain't even a wine Mom. And he says Trump is a pathological liar and megalomaniac. Please, @EmmetK. Keep doing what you do. Be you. Tell all your friends to do the same. I'm lovin it. From the MAGA-centric New York Post House Ethics Committee concludes probe into Rep. Eric Swalwell’s interaction with suspected Chinese spy And from Swalwell: So I cited the Post because they are one of the best at creating Democratic "wrongdoing" where there is none. Right now there is an enormous amount of futile intellectual masturbation going on at the Post, trying to figure out how to transform "no wrongdoing by Joe Biden" into "Joe Biden took a $5 million bribe." Even the Post is coming up intellectually impotent. So on this one, they didn't even try. You stated Fang Fang is a Chinese spy. That is incorrect. She is a suspected Chinese spy, according to the MAGA-centric Post. You stated Swalwell slept with Fang Fang. Also incorrect. All the Post mentions is that she was a campaign volunteer who raised money for him. For all I know or you know, Swalwell is correct is calling this a "false smear." You certainly haven't proven anything. Other than that in the MAGAverse anger counts for way more than facts. But let's assume you're right, and Swalwell boned her. Because that gets to why Trump will lose in 2024, I think. We then have to assume that every young stud with a libido involved in politics should be particularly careful about every hot Chinese woman (or man) he knows. Because s/he might be a spy. Which I think was the whole "Eek! Chow mein!" thing @alvnv was getting at. Trump simply attacked an Asian Cabinet member of his for being Asian. So let's assume like MTG does that Swalwell was wrong for boning Fang Fang. Even though he stopped boning her when the FBI said, "Um. We suggest you stop boning that spy woman." Or something like that. You can make a case that under the highest of ethical standards, Swalwell should have assumed that Chinese woman was a spy, and not have boned her. Or maybe he should have assumed any woman can be a spy, and not boned anyone until he was married. Poor guy! But that's the rub. If we make such assumptions, here's what follows: Trump should have assumed every hot woman near him did NOT want to be raped. Trump should NOT have assumed every hot woman near him wants her pussy grabbed by some powerful old guy. Trump should NOT have assumed he won the 2020 election when all the evidence says the exact opposite. Trump should NOT have assumed that of course at least 11, 780 more votes in Georgia were cast for him. Trump should NOT have assumed that the MAGAzens he incited to go to The Capitol and beat cops were very fine people just protecting their democratic rights. I could go on endlessly. But you get the point. Please. Raise the standards as high as you can. It makes it that much more obvious to everyone outside the MAGAverse why Trump is such a dismal political and moral failure.1 point -
You say wrong and, elsewhere, call people liars without ever providing evidence. An MTG video of her making an unvalidated outburst is neither evidence or proof. You then make an unsubstantiated claim. What we do know is Stalwell helped the FBI identify someone working for the chinese and reported that to not one but two GOP House speaker (Boehner and Ryan). The ethics committee this year made no findings of wrongdoing. What we do know is that your ex-president Rapist is also a racist following his comments about Elaine Chow.1 point

Thanks, Xclay for the update. I am amazed to see how nice the facilities are compared to Lagoa. I regret not to have given it a try when I was in SP last week. I will give it a try next time. What about the showers ? Are they visible from the bar as in Lagoa or in mezzaninu ? It does not seem so. Pity, since it is a nice way of spending time in the bar looking at the goodies. I think it is not totally fair to compare Club 555 on a Sunday nite with Lagoa : I was yesterday, sunday, in 117 in Rio. There was a very limited number of boys, and certainly not the best ones. If I was to write a review on 117 based on that sunday experience, it would be negative and would not reflect how nice the place is on Tuesdays or Fridays. When I go to Club 555, it will be either on Friday or on Saturday nite.1 point

Dead is dead. As I said, you are highly selective picking atrocities. Under your method of selecting atrocities, one man killing 5 people in one day would be an atrocity while one man killing 1 person every 3 days for eternity would not. Dresden was an allied mission. All wars are atrocities. Send the politicians, not the young men and watch how quickly peace occurs.1 point

There was i bit of discussion whether Air Tags are allowed in checked luggage or not, because they emit signals and because they contain lithium batteries, but now seem to be allowed by most airlines.1 point
-
Some popular uses of the air tags: Keep track of your car keys, wallet, purse, backpack, or other personal items. Remember where you parked your car or track your luggage while traveling. Track a runaway dog or cat, or find a lost child or elderly loved one. Track your tools, instruments, or other valuable items that might remain in your vehicle or elsewhere.1 point

Sorry can't help with tailors and agree about the lack of a gay scene. But as soon as my flight had arrived at Danang in early 2020, getting into my car to Hoi An I had several hits on one of the apps (sorry cannot remember which). This resulted in two days with a really lovely Vietnamese guy.1 point

I don't get your point... How is this connected to the Russian invasion of the Ukraine?1 point -
If you both wanted to talk about past century and Soviet era, then we may talk about European colonies in Africa, and slavery. So better for you just shout up. Or I may start to talk about war in Vietnam. And tomorrow I will remind you about anniversary of the Barbarian nuclear bombing Nagasaki city.1 point

Is Indicting Trump A Good Idea?

Sorry. It was Fang Fang. Not Ling Ling. "...Someone that had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy. And everyone knows it". Of course if you get your news from the stooges at MSNBC and CNN, you'd never know this. Same way they have a news blackout on anything related to the Hunter Biden corruption and shakedowns.1 point -

Personally, a change of venue doesn't worry me. There may be places where it would be more difficult to select an impartial jury but I have faith in the selection process itself. Once both parties have agreed to a jury, I trust the jury to consider the evidence. For me, what's important is to finally get Trump's actions under close examination and let the evidence speak for itself. Should he be found guilty, I expect him to follow form and attack the jury itself. But, if it's a jury he himself has called for, that will make his theatrics even less credible than usual.1 point -

It's hard to find statistics but I expect Cathay Pacific will have to continue to depend more on international transit passengers in the short- to medium-term. Heving twice visited this year, it is noticeable that tourism remains way down on pre-covid levels. Part of this is a result of the severity of the covid restrictions which led some expatriates to leave Hong Kong altogether. Another is the draconian Chinese national security law imposed a couple of years ago which makes criticism of China and its policies a jailable offence. Many Hong Kong Chinese have left for good to take up residency in other countries, especially the UK which has opened its doors to hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong citizens (albeit several decades too late). Just last month the Hong Kong government which is basically appointed by Beijing enacted the extraordinary and in my view disastrous policy of placing a bounty of HK$1 million (US$128,000) per head for the return of several of those who had been student activists. Not even after Tiananmen Square in 1989 did the Beijing government adopt such a policy. Hong Kong has become a different city. Its total population has declined for the third consecutive year. In my view it will continue to depend to an even greater extent on short-haul tourists from China which will do little for Cathay Pacific's bottom line. So the long-haul market will probably concentrate on transit passengers from Canada and the USA - and perhaps some from Europe if fares are competitive - with Thailand and other countries as their final destination.1 point -
Reviewing the five visa options for retirement in Thailand

There is a website for Thailand Elite Visa Members. Today it states that Siam Legal (presumably one of the law firms permitted to offer the visas) has confirmed that the lowest package from October 1 will be 900,000 baht for 5 years - a 50% increase. But then it says the highest one will be 5 million baht for 20 years (up 150%). I cannot work out why anyone would go for 20 years if they could purchase 4 x 5 years at 3.6 million. Presumably there will be some reason - like not possible toget back to back visas. The site also states these prices were confirmed today by two Thailand Elite staff. So I was lied to yesterday when the membership services manager said nothing had been agreed re the new pricing! Should I have expected anything else! But as @TMax pointed out, it has become a lot more expensive.1 point

I would never ever understand certain people's propensity to be adversarial every single turn instead of being helpful and respectful of other's views, even if the agreement isn't there. There is always a way to disagree without being disagreeable, and the message will be received much better this way instead of having this unnecessary bullshit. Ultimately, this says more about the poster and his (online) character, than the poster's intent to prove his or her point. But what can I say, I am an eternal optimist, and will always think that all people are capable of kindness and consideration towards other people. At the end of the day, we are all human beings, with our own struggles and concerns, and showing a little kindness towards other people isn't that fucking hard.1 point

So you've made this judgement based on a few alleged interactions. And you expect us to believe that mamasans talk trash about their own boys. Unbelievable. You way want to consider that it's you and not them who's the most unsociable. This speaks for itself. Have you considered the possibility that you're not suitable to patronize massage shops. Even Freud would would be at wit's end, trying to unravel that trash. On top of that, you're asking us to believe that--after 25 years in Thailand--you suddenly found this forum, selected the handle "truncheon" (short stick carried by police; a billy club) and penned this absurdity. Why didn't you simply post under the screen name you normally use here?1 point

In some hotels, employees will notice. Once I had to register my GP as the second 'official guest' to let him in. So we did the paperwork as if he was my boyfriend staying with me etc. The next day when the GP was different, we tried to walk past them as if it was still my boyfriend and the girl at the desk stopped us. I said "I registered him as a guest yesterday" but she pulled out the copy of yesterday's boy's identity card and said "No, it is not the same person". Embarrassing moment, never to be repeated. That hotel was Arena Leme. On the other hand, the South American Copacabana in Copanema were just asking to get a copy of the boy's id every time I walked in with a different boy. It was a bit awkward to implicitly admit I was fucking with a different boy every day but the staff stayed very professional.1 point
