From Pattaya News Police Seize 15 Motorbikes as Kuwaiti Motorbike Racers Remain a Problem Residents and business operators in South Pattaya are still frustrated with the persistent presence of noisy Middle Eastern street racers gathering at night. Some hotel residents even moved from the area to avoid the unbearable nuisance, according to hotel operators. Police officers from the Pattaya police station raided Soi Yen Sabai in South Pattaya early this morning today, July 31st, following residents’ complaints that young adults, mostly Kuwaiti nationals, had congregated in the alley and caused noise disturbances with their rented modified motorcycles. The complaints stated that these young men revved up their engines, blocked the entire alley with their vehicles, parked in front of houses without permission, and drove loudly up and down the street without any regard for traffic rules. They also claimed the riders never wore helmets and had no valid licenses or insurance. When the police arrived to inspect the situation at 1 AM, they found the road inside Soi Yen Sabai completely blocked by parked motorcycles, making it impossible for regular traffic to pass through. The police then used patrol cars with sirens and made announcements to disperse the Kuwaiti group, but the group seemed indifferent and stood together, watching and somewhat seemingly amused by the authorities. At the end of the operation, the officers seized 15 of the motorcycles that were blocking traffic and would proceed with legal actions against the tourists and the motorbike rental agencies accordingly.

I like the sense of movement, of people travelling for wildly-different reasons and sometimes even for a slight edginess.....there are police road blocks not far away. See my post above. My opinion: too much hassle to get your own SIM card with just a short trip. It’d be much easier to get GoogleFi, or if you have certain plans with AT&T, you get free roaming in Latin America, including Brazil. Chili Peppers in São Paulo is a good option. You will have no problems getting laid there as they cater to all types. You probably won’t encounter the adonises of the GP saunas tho if you are not one yourself (as it is not a pay for play sauna), but it is a fun distraction regardless. Just be careful, it is in a sketchy neighborhood. Don’t pull out your cell after getting off the Uber, and call the Uber in the waiting area in the sauna till it arrives. I don’t do poppers, so can’t help you there. I wont chance putting it on your luggage, as the Alfândega might get you at the airport (tho rare). If you get on GRindr, certain sellers will approach you if you are a gringo. Can’t say this is reputable, but there is that chance. The Heritage allows GPs from my experience, and very walkable to the sauna, so good choice.

Re: the original question… my answer is always: I’m currently in Rio, and I was just in SP, and have been alternating both cities (since 2018? Has it been that long) ever since I’ve decided to give Brazil a try. If it were me, and I just had one week to spend in Brazil a year, I’d fly into São Paulo and arrive on a Friday and spend the weekend there, and hop on a plane (or a bus) to Rio during the week, and finish out your trip back in SP for another weekend. I have found that certain days are always busy (Friday and Saturday, for example), but Mondays seem to be weirdly amazing as well. My take, from recent weeks being here: Fridays: Lagoa (SP) is better than the Rio saunas (117 or 202 are both good as well, but sometimes oddly a toss up, as one is better than the other, or both the same on Fridays) Saturdays: Lagoa (SP) is oddly better than any of the Rio saunas on Saturdays. Why is that? Sundays: Slow day, but an odd choice would be 555 in São Paulo. Ramiro is there now and they are trying to get Sunday to happen for 555. Lagoa is horrendous on Sundays with karaoke (ugh why have this), and recently has started to empty out after 7 PM due to 555 having bingo nights on Sunday. Rio has 117 as an only option, and even then it is slow. Mondays: Point (Rio) is oddly good on Mondays. Lagoa (SP) is also good. I find this odd but maybe boys get more day workers come to the sauna? 117 is closed. Meio Mundo is an option in Rio, but it is not for me. Tuesdays: 117 (Rio) would be your pick here. Point is closed. Lagoa is slow. Wednesdays: Point (Rio) is a hit or a miss on this day but mostly a hit. 117 is super slow, and Lagoa will be better. Thursdays: Lagoa will be infinitely better than the Rio saunas, but slow(ish) day in general as people are saving their pennies and penis for the weekend. Also, it will depend on what day of the month you spend your week in these two cities. The boys rely on local customers as the foundation of their business, and generally Brazilians spend less money towards the end of the month, so boys tend to not be at the saunas towards the last week of the month. Things pick up at the first of the month, and really peak after the 7th of the month as rent is due usually on the 10th. Not a hard and fast rule of course but something to keep in mind. If you find yourself at Lagoa on the 10th of the month on a Saturday, count yourself lucky, as the boy and the clients are all there on top of each other at the saunas. As always, your mileage may vary, and my experience may be a little bit different than yours @dallastexas. I also spend way too much time in Brazil in general, but judging from the experiences you have expressed here, you know why I spend a lot of my pennies and penis in this wonderful country.

I agree with Andrew Sullivan to an extent. As much as I enjoy seeing all of a sexy guys body in pics on the apps, I find it takes a certain... frission out of the whole thing. If I meet a guy in a bar, I don't know what he looks like under his clothes. The is a certain mystery that unravels naturally as you "hook up". The apps can't really offer that. From Pattaya News Thai Police Pledge to Eradicate Foreign Motorcycle Clubs By Tanakorn Panyadee The Royal Thai Police (RTP) are on the hunt for five major foreign motorcycle clubs operating on Thai soil following a crackdown on the notorious Outlaws Motorcycle Club in Pattaya last month. The RTP on July 21st launched a crackdown on the Outlaws group and arrested the alleged Austrian gang leader Thomas Ginner just as he was preparing to flee the country. According to the RTP, Ginner’s motorbike club was notorious for engaging in transnational crimes and was implicated in an incident in which a German gang member named Olaf Thorsten Brinkmann was accused of murdering Hans Peter Walter Mack, a 62-year-old German property broker, in Pattaya last June. Brinkmann was arrested while hiding in a type of cubby hole at an Outlaws clubhouse in Bangkok. Following Brinkmann and his three accomplices’ arrest and a crackdown on the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, the RTP are now targeting five major motorcycle clubs operating in the country. These clubs include Outlaws Motorcycle Club or Outlaws MC, Hells Angels Motorcycle Club or Hells Angels, the Bandidos Motorcycle Club, which is also known as the Bandido Nation, the Mongols Motorcycle Club or the Mongol Brotherhood, and the Vagos Motorcycle Club, which is also known as the Green Nation, the Bangkok Post reported. Most of the clubs are managed by Australian nationals and operate mainly in tourist destinations across Thailand such as Phuket, Koh Samui in Surat Thani, and Pattaya, allegedly targeting foreigners for protection fees in exchange for them to run businesses in the area. They occasionally even abduct or commit murders against foreigners for money, the RTP said. As part of the efforts, Pol Gen Surachate promised that he would propose an amendment to the immigration law, especially concerning retirement visa extensions, through the police chief once a new government takes office. This aims to filter out bad people and make the law truly helpful for investors or someone who innocently want to live in Thailand. For biker gangs, he ensured that at least one of them, the Outlaws, has been completely weeded out from Pattaya. The police are now extending their investigation to Phuket and Koh Samui.

A note for all Thailand Elite holders. Although there has been absolutely no notification from the Elite office, one of the legal firms authorized to handle Elite requests let the cat out of the bag last week when it stated the Elite programme is being revamped on Oct 1. The only info it contains is that the family visa is being dropped. Worse for those on the basic programme costing 600,000 baht for 5 years expecting a renewal for 15 years at 400,000 baht, it seems certain that renewal is either also being dropped or substantially modified. Try getting the Elite Visa hotline to confirm annything over the long holiday weekend and the operators were clueless. They had not even been briefed on changes. Then a number of blog sites have all written in recent days that the last date for applying and paying for existing Elite card programmes and extensions will in fact be August 15! With so many unknowns and the almost certainty of only 2 weeks formal notice of what seem to be very major changes, I have already heard from a number of furious Elite members - and I am presently in Taipei! Clearly something is about to change and it may happen very quickly. My only advice to those planning to apply for an Elite card or holding the basic 5 year card and hoping to renew is to get cash ready and stand by for a quick 15 year upgrade. I’ll post more info when Thai Elite finally get round to informing existing members.

As for today since 117 was closed I went to Alameda across the street with my first GP and upon arrival he ran into a friend in the hallway, and the friend came into our room before we started, and now it appeared that we were negotiating two people the thing is, I don’t have cash for two people, but I totally would’ve been down, except for that fact. One thing I’m confused about is how do I actually ask that I want sex because it seems like it’s an upsell. But since you raised the subject!... I'll share a July '23 update on Boate Casa Grande in Bangu: ● Uber took me "straight" there. Dropoff stop was maybe ten feet past the entrance. No problem at all. Previously posters found the location challenging, but maybe map directions have improved. ● It is a big, airy space but below New Meo Mundo in elegance. ● Manager (owner?) Márcio is a nice guy. ● On my Sunday afternoon around 4pm: 5 clients and 8 GPs. No gym rats. Average to trim built. All handsome shades (none white or black). Only one was really toned. Slightly shy and not at all aggressive. ● Happy to get 100. Probably could have bargained for less but why just to save two dollars? 😱 #1: My first time with a known parolee wearing an electric ankle monitor! (A personal first.) He was the most muscular and best looking GP there. 😐 #2: At least 6'4", kinda cute, eager kisser, but super soft. 🙂 #3: Danil was 6' tall with big brown eyes; really got into it; excellent kisser; shot. In the glory days Dongtan beach was exclusively gay with lots of boys , unfortunately these days are gone but still nice beach to relax,eat and have a massage. If you really want nice beaches with crystal clear water Kho Larn nearby island is the place to visit.

My first trip to Thailand was to Pattaya. Subsequently, i tried Phuket, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, all of which had promising reports regarding encounters with Thais, and each proved to have its own distinctive charms. However, none has replaced Pattaya. The one thing that continued to drew me to Bkk was Babylon. Specifically the "old" Babylon. But even the new one gave me hours of pleasure- and often surprising delights ("Does this guy really fancy me? Me? Surely not!"). It was the best sauna I've ever attended. And I've tried quite a few around the world. Now that it has gone, there remains just one Bkk experience which ensures that I always spend a day or two there; the sheer thrill of arrival at the airport and then the drive into Surawong...the clammy heat as the doors slide open and I look for a taxi, the sights, smells, sounds. After nearly eighty visits, it still sets the pulse racing. And the bars? I 'm years out of date but i was (and remain) a twink-lover and this was a good reason to prefer Pattaya. Not that there weren't once enjoyable twink-bars in Bkk, but to me they just didn't compare to what was on offer in Pattaya. From what I've read here, Bkk still seems to be more suitable for admirers of hunkier guys.

Perched on the back of a truck, Hun Manet, the 45-year-old eldest son of Prime Minister Hun Sen, greeted the crowds proclaiming that only the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) was capable of leading the country. Indeed, his father had made sure that the CPP was the only party which could possibly win the election. Having ruled for nearly 40 years, Prime Minister Hun Sen will hand over power to his son later this month after the ruling Cambodian People Party (CPP) scored an easy victory in the July 23 election. The CPP won 80% of a total of 8.2 million votes cast, the National Election Committee (NEC) said on Tuesday, the first official announcement of the results. About 440,000 ballots -- or every one in 18 -- were invalidated, the NEC said, adding the election had seen a high turnout of 85%. According to NEC official Dim Sovannarom, the number of spoiled ballots was less than in the 2018 election, when state institutions had also disbanded an earlier incarnation of the pro-democracy opposition Candlelight party.

Founded by then prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in 2003, Thailand Privilege Card Company is wholly owned by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. But a new senior management team at Elite has decided to introduce unprecedented changes. All new applications for Elite must be made by September 15 under the existing application rules: after that it will be too late. Current holders of the popular Elite Easy Access – a five year visa available for as cash payment of 600,000 baht – have until August 15 to transfer to a longer Elite visa, usually for 20 years: after that it will be also be too late. Enrolment and renewal fees are likely to rise as the principle of Elite has always been to attract high spenders, wealthy expats and global citizens. The number of packages, some of which include deals for expat families as well as individuals, may well be reduced or combined. Scrutiny of application details will almost certainly be intensified. Currently, files are checked against the Thai immigration database and information held by Thai embassies abroad. This referral might be extended to Interpol after it was found necessary to cancel some Elite members who were involved in “grey” businesses or fraudulent or criminal international activity. Other memberships have been refused to some Elite holders whose original visas were for study or voluntary work – sometimes dubiously issued for untraceable cash during the Covid pandemic. Membership of Elite programs stultified in the few thousand members for many years, but zoomed to over 20,000 in 2022 and is now thought to be nearing 30,000. I used to visit Chiang Mai regularly over many, many years and loved those trips. More recently, having seen the sights many times, been to Doi Inthanon to see the waterfalls, visited the orchid farms and ridden on elephants, I find the nights quite boring. I found the Night Bazaar bars dead! (That's really a misnomer as there are no longer any bars actually in the Night Bazaar whereas there used to be around 6 - even those behind the D2 hotel have vanished - as @musgrave points out there are a few on Soi 6 on the other side of the main road). Doing a bar hop on Soi 6, they had a few customers who seemed to be long time expats and a handful of not particularly attractive boys either playing pool or glued to their phones. So many of the good and fun bars have closed - many before covid. If you have not enjoyed the old town and the scenery, Chiang Mai is certainly worth a visit. Yes I remember those glory days Dongtan in years 2001/2 .
