It's been my experience that the guys in most shops in Saphan Kwai and Soi 6 websites are not models and are available for hire. Have not found any of the guys I booked to have been photo shopped. Some actually looked better in person. I know nothing of Pattaya shops. I prefer shops with set minimum tip. Avoids negotiating and establishes baseline of service. It also keeps the cheap Charlies at bay. Again, this is based on my experiences in Bangkok and not Pattaya or elsewhere.

I find it rather inaccurate to call them "masseurs", when they hardly know the first thing about massage. "Moneyboys" may be more accurate, but I guess we've developed a habit of using this term to mean those on apps, and not those in shops...

Like I said before, you don't go to this place for an actual massage. I think there are enough data points to make that clear. I don't necessarily agree that all of the guys on their roster have heavily doctored photos. When I was there the guy I booked did look a bit different because the blond hair in the photos was back to natural black which made a fairly big difference. There were several guys in the shop who were quite cute in my opinion. But ultimately I think that vinapu is probably right that essentially "you get what you pay for"

Excellent decision. I've been to Vietnam a few times and it's always so much fun. Since it's so your first time, you might get a bit overwhelmed with traffic., but the food and the guys make it totally worth it. Just follow the locals when you're crossing the street and use Grab as much as possible, since it's affordable over there. The guys are really and especially in HCMC, pretty wild. Plenty of action on Grindr and Blued, but Hornet also has a good number of profiles. Can't help you much with massage places and money boys as I don't do transactional sex, but I have seen quite a few mb in the apps and I assume the rate should be lower than Thailand. Republic Lounge used to be very popular as a bar and club, but I was told it closed last year. the only other place I used to go to is Thi Bar, right by Bui Vien St. (the Kao San of Saigon). It's a bar and actually the crowd is pretty mixed, as a few straight backpackers go there, but at night there is plenty of local eyecandy. It's owned by this French guy who I think has a local bf though all my Saigon friends know him pretty deeply, if you know what I mean. There is also a relatively new sauna called Nadam spa. I actually never been but read it on another forum where it said that the crowd was really good. So I suggested it to one of my Filipino friends visiting HCMC last month. He and his Aussie bf went there on a Sunday afternoon and said they had a blast. Probably around 80-100 people in the crowd, mostly locals and mostly twinks and in-shape young guys. It closes pretty early , I think at 10:00pm, so the best time is usually from 4-8pm, especially on a Saturday and Sunday. Another friend of mine is going to Saigon at the end of August and I will see what will be his impressions of that place but since I'm a sauna lover I already plan to visit it in October before heading to Taipei for pride or if not then in December. Now a few words about accommodation: guest check-in is strictly enforced in Vietnam, so no matter if your guy goes straight to your room or you go pick him up downstairs, his ID will be checked and his name written down. Some locals don't like that because they're shy or they say they get bad looks from the font-desk people, so an Airbnb is a good solution, especially if you want to have 3+ action at your place, which at least in my experience happens much more often even then in Thailand (plenty of times the guy I'm chatting with have asked if it was ok to bring over a friend of his, something almost unheard of in Thailand, where local guys frown upon when you suggest a threesome with another Thai). If you stay in an Aribnb, I would suggest getting an older place but that has been remodeled inside as those usually don't have a doorman, where newer high-rises usually have a reception and they also will ask for checking-in your guests. Another peculiarity in Vietnam is that the front-desk people at some boutique hotels just go to sleep after a certain hour at night like 12:00 or 1:00 AM. They will just lock the door, turn off the light and sleep right next to their desk, so if you come back late at night or you're just in your room but you want to go down to pick up a guy you will need to wake him up and then he needs to register your guest, and then he goes back to sleep, so if your guy wants to leave after you're done he needs to wake up the receptionist again. Pretty awkward and uncomfortable for all parts involved. Now this doesn't happen in all independent hotels, but it happened to me both in Hanoi and Saigon during my first times in there, so after that I usually go for a big international chain if I choose to stay in an hotel in Vietnam. Some Airbnbs have the same issue, as some of my fwbs usually have to leave before a certain hour since the doorman goes to sleep and they will be locked out if they get home later than that. So if you decide for an Airbnb, double check with the host that reception is opened 24hr.

I have always found the art market to be incomprehensible. The modern art market at least seems to be entirely made up of mad trend chasers. A few lucky artists get named the "in crowd" and people flock to pay ridiculous amounts for their work. Watched a good documentary "The Price of Everything" about it. Not sure it gave me any more insight into the madness. I was less than impressed with many of the pieces that were selling for huge amounts. For example, why in the world is Rothko such an acclaimed artist for painting things like this which sold for $45M in 2014? Baffling. It feels like the rich people version of designer clothes. You buy a label to tell people you have taste instead of, you know, having taste. Art for the rich and insecure.

I learned how to make a great sausage roll during a trip to the UK. (As you would expect, since sausage is kinda my thing 😋). May be, just may be, such bad experience is boiling down to a low minimum tip? Why? I went today to Jey Spa, Sukhumvit 43. Guy I booked had minimum tip of 1800. Only bad thing I can say is that I,m idiot because after session was over(1.5 hr up to the minute) I tip him 2200 and left. Walking to BTS it dawned on me that I should take repeat session right away because two paradises are more than just one.

I had a very bad experience at 15M last night. It started well as the booking rocess via line was quick and easy. I wanted a guy called Guitar but he was not available so I chose a guy called Mai ( straight/ S56 ). I arrived on time at 9:30 and the guys at reception were nice and friendly enough..the place looks clean too but that's the only positive things about this place. I was not aroused at all so he kept now and then touching my private part to see if I'd get hard... But I didn't .. there was not chemistry and nothing erotic or sensual in his massage. 20 minutes into the "massage" he asked me to turn around face up... I was a bit surprised... But I turned around. Straight away he was massaging my 🍆. But I was not impressed so I couldn't get a hard on. I touched his dick ( I hadn't seen/ touched it until then) and was disappointed to see that it was not big as I expected ( he is supposed to be a S56). I could hear him talking and laughing with some other staff . I felt humiliated. I messaged them on line id to complain about my experience but they just said that they will talk to their staff. I will never go back to 15M . I wouldn't recommend Mai. Avoid him at all cost . 15M should train their staff properly.

Had similar experience when I visited them on Sunday. Booked my appointment with a guy via Line and was confirmed within 5 mins. Took a ride there and that stretch of road was under construction with rubble and sand. The shop was on the right side of soi 27 and I believe there is a barber shop beside it (not sure if they are related). Paid 500 baht for the oil massage (not sure why I paid a 100 baht more lol) and was ushered upstairs to a room. Counter guy didn't ask me if I wanted a shower but it was okay since I showered before leaving the hotel. The boy came around 10 minutes later and asked to shower. The massage was pretty non-existent. He was just rubbing my back, my arms, then my thighs and calves lol. Asked a couple of simple questions like his nationality and age and could only make out that he is from Laos. He didn't get the question about the age though. Was asked to turn over after 30 minutes into the massage and question was popped. Had to watch a straight video on his mobile to get hard. Not that I'm concerned because I have met several straight guys who needed straight porn to turn them on. After all the action, he just wrapped a towel around him and left the room to go shower while I was cleaning myself up lol. Purely business.
