Day 17 , last To add insult to injury , not only I slept alone but it served me well as I waked up just before 9am and went for my last breakfast at Unesco only at 10 am , again missing in early bird discount. I have whole day at my disposal leaving only late at night / early in the morning depending on your religion. I did not waste time wanting to make up for wasted night and asked ST over Line to come to my room at 3 pm. I had impression that he jumped from joy as positive answer was immediate with tons of emoticons. Securing my entertainment for later I could proceed to realize tourist program – survey of recently opened monorail between Samrong BTS and HuaMak ARL. At 11 am on the dot I boarded train at Chong Nonsi and about 40 minutes later alighted at Bearing station to check Apollo massage site. From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Thai labour authorities have amended the MOU (memoranda of understanding) with the Myanmar and Cambodian governments to reduce the shortage of workers in various Thai industries. The economic migrants, mostly on two or four year contracts, are found principally in the tourist trade as hotel staff, labourers on building sites or highways, the fishing industry manning trawlers and factory food processing. Because of Covid, which saw many workers return to their country during the pandemic, their work permits expired or about to expire. Under the former regulations, there was a compulsory waiting period of 30 days before they were allowed to reapply. Another issue is that the transitional government of general Prayut Chan-o-cha made a hurried Cabinet decision to extend the expired permits to July 31 2023, with the proviso that the new incoming administration would have to sort out the issues. However, the latest agreements permit quick online registration for workers who are currently in Thailand and those who wish to return to work from Myanmar or Cambodia. If migrants work illegally, they risk deportation as well as loss of benefits such as automatic enrolment in the Thai health system. The Cambodian and Myanmar authorities have separately asked the Thai Department of Labour to reduce the visa fee from 2,000 baht to 500 baht, but that will require Cabinet approval once one is formed. Chonburi province in particular has hundreds of vacancies for workers from neighboring countries, especially hotel and restaurant staff (Pattaya), factory workers (Chonburi city) and trawler assistants (Sattahip and beyond). The problem is common to many countries with falling birth rates. The result is that these organisations which had previously distributed 70% of the PrEP given out in Thailand are now forbidden to do so unless they have a direct link to a public hospital. The same edict applies to HIV medication. This move was immediately condemned by SWING and the Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand. It has also been pointed out that the government never fulfilled its claim to provide 50% of the CBOs funding. International organisations made up the balance. Now doctors in hospitals will have to prescribe PrEP, alhough the cost to individual Thais is likely to be little changed. This high and increasing HIV prevalence was later confirmed from several other sources, notably the Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic (TRCAC), where 29.1% of 3485 MSM attending HIV testing and counseling (HTC) services from 2006 to 2009 were HIV-infected." Even more worryingly - "Receptive anal intercourse, lack of condom use, high levels of sexual partner turnover, drug use during sex, and finding casual partners via the internet have all been found to be associated with higher HIV prevalence and incidence among Bangkok MSM. In addition, fewer than half of MSM reported to have ever been HIV tested, and even fewer said to have actual knowledge of their current HIV status," There used to be an AVERT site with much more up-to-date statistics but I can no longer find it. Bit I do know that it confirmed by 2018/9 around 30% of msm in Bangkok are HIV positive. I miss Soi Twilight. For me, it was the heart of Bangkok's nightlife. When it closed, Bangkok was really ruined for me. I don't dislike Bangkok, I just prefer living in Pattaya, specifically Jomtien. The major problems for me in Bangkok is the pollution, the never ending traffic and the heat.

You are not paying for drink it's for entrance and the show, if you want cheap beer you can buy it at 7/11.

I have never understood how Abomb has survived all these years. I know it changed owners right after Covid, so perhaps there has been frequent changes of owners, each bearing several years of losses before giving up. This bar has had its ups and downs, but I have had great offs from there, so I always make a point of checking it out each time I am in Pattaya - which isnt often nowadays, unfortunately. As for negative reviews, there are negative reviews of every bar, and I suspect a lot of that comes from the type of boy a bar has. Those who like fem twinks will be completely disappointed by Abomb. Those who like the bigger guys will be writing negative reviews of bars with fem twinks. And thus, the world goes around.

On the other hand, isn't Thailand one of the easiest place in Asia to get Prep for free or by paying very little thanks through some sort of royal-family supported schema? most of the guys I meet in Thailand make use of it and say they get it for free. That's in contrast to even much richer places in Asia like Singapore and HK when guys complain that getting Prep is quite expensive and most who use it buy it online, usually from Thailand. My favorite restaurant in Pattaya It's been good and bad over the years, 20 yrs ago it was the bar that I did the most off's from....my last trip it was good.

usually I go by length of time they sat with me and if there were any sinister moves on my part although I never do that in bar unless encouraged by my companion they do , I think they told me 50 baht. They got 200 each because they sat with me at least 1 hour, they were nice boys , allowed me to scratch them here and there and it was very slow evening in the bar. No to mention I was in good mood

Day 14 At 8am HC left , collecting his tip without any grimace so I’m not even sure he was happy or disappointed, not really losing sleep over it. I went for breakfast to Das Berliner, short hop on baht bus from there to Pattaya Night Market which only start coming to life but I bought multipocketed shirt I usually wear when travel as one never runs out need for those. Then parked myself in internet café in soi post office as I had some things to do on computer and find it easier to do it on PC than smartphone or tablet, then , when walking to hotel, Wit from Paradise massage stopped me so it went without saying we have massage session , 1.50 hr , great as always. .He is pressing me for long time , no doubt out of love. After massage I invited him for dinner at Bayview restaurant on Beach Rd where we usually go. Then I went to Tukcom to add some time to my SIM card as it’s expiring tomorrow and being there walked through Sunee Plaza , abandoned to her fate , noticing new shiny laundry on the corner leading to it. Finally some bright spot there. Next step as it was darkening already was Jomtien complex where I parked myself at @home bar , winged with two resident guys of theirs. I treated them with drink and on departure with 200 tip each for their time and decided to return to Boyztown. Jomtien Complex seemed quite slow tonight with sprinkling of patrons here and there. So far quite “ nothing happened day “ but it was nice not to be pressed to do anything with anybody, of course massage with Wit excepted. I arrived just before 11 pm so in time for XBoys show so I went in. Very progressive show with not one but two “special” segments , it was fun to watch Chinese spectators awed at what they saw. I was happy to see A in one number. He is veteran there , tall for a Thai and quite well endowed. For me his personal attraction is that he reminds me somebody from my youth. But somehow he did not notice me and after show disappeared so I left empty handed. Not to give up easily I made big circle of Boyztown sois and in 15-20 minutes I was back in front of XBoys. This time he recognized me immediately , rushed to greet me which I used to ask romantic question” you sleep with me tonight ?” which was agreed to immediately. I like fast negotiations. I paid off fee, let him finish his meal and we walked over to Classrooms to complete our deal. He is quite conversationalist as well , told me about his family and work and all in all we had great time. Longer it lasted , grater it seemed. Notwithstanding his physical attributes mentioned earlier he is simply very decent guy and to spice it, knowing well why he was invited. One of those offs which will stay in memory and I still remember our first , pre-covid meeting. So while days in Pattaya tend to be boring , both nights so far turned excellent. Knowing who I will be hosting tomorrow I can already say that all nights in Pattaya this trip were outstanding .

I am planning to start my business in Thailand hopefully by December. But at 2 I decided not to waste day completely and went to Saphan Kwai with intention to make survey of massage shops there. By the station there are at least 3 : G’Beat, KMan and 15M but my survey today was along Suthisan Rd. Coming from BTS there is One Spa across gas station and on the same side of street 27 M. On opposite side there are BT HOUSE, KK SPA and Home Spa. Home Spa is just before highway crosses street if you are taking bus. So I stopped at Home , 1hr 500 baht min tip 1000, only two boys available immediately so I opted for one I recognized face from their Line feed. Fees are less than half of one needs to pay at Jey. Old truth that restaurant ambiance has nothing to do with quality of food it serves was mightily confirmed. Quite an unexpected treat for my birthday. I went to hotel to freshen up and pick up some money deciding today Tawan will be my bar of choice. Hunks and most friendly bar, what else I may want. Taxi handily unloaded somebody in front of hotel and agreed to take me to Silom, it was about 80 baht, the same I paid for motorsai yesterday. Alighting I got message from anddy that he is dining at Gbangkok so went there to shake hands – I was full after that fabulous chicken but anddy generously offered me birthday drink so I stopped there for longer chat with him and restaurant owner. Then I went to Tawan as always greeted enthusiastically. Good hour before show bar was already filed . I was not only farang . in pure view I had had another one sitting with one of their boys and both were quite progressive in their behavior. Unfortunately later on farang left leaving some tip in guys’ hands so no off. Not being just anybody there had benefits as quite fast they organized some table space so I had no less than 4 guys sitting with me including one veteran, surprisingly clingy today, Mas my favorite twink there and new acquisition ST, very handsome, also not exactly teenager, with butt of gold. He told me he is there only few weeks and his brother used to work there. Turned out I know that brother very well in his days and even nominated him to be best boy of my Dec 2015 trip. At least return to hotel was free and we could start celebrating birthday in style, K and I. Only disappointment this year was that hotel did not present me birthday cake like they did last year. I wonder if that was change of policy or result of opting for cheaper room where such treats don’t apply

Day 10 Y wanted to go home so I went or rather should say flew on cloud 7 to World Famous for a breakfast. What I was thinking I don’t know or rather know, how great last night was , at least to me. Then went to ATM to withdrew some money and returned to hotel with a loot. By the way, machine refused to spit out 25000 , message came that maximum number of banknotes to be withdrawn is 25. So I assumed ATM run out of 1000 notes, as it refused 24000 either. I settled on 20000 and indeed in the pack there were few 500”s In hotel I wanted to do some calculations , reached for the phone and it was not there. Since I did not use it in the bank it must be Foodland so I kind of sprinted there. I, opposite to almost everybody else, can travel without the phone although those days it almost become impossible , I don’t bank on it but losing contacts, specially Line ones would be nasty. So I hoped it will be there. On approach I already knew it is as one of waitresses seeing me motioned . They made me sign in some notebook I received it . I left 200 tip and started to celebrate reunion. It pays to be known there and seat usually at the same table so they must have notice right away. Today I’m changing hotels and moving to Bayioke Sky. Every trip I like to treat myself with something bit better for 2-3 nights just to know how better half is spending their vacations. I get there in Bangkok style i.e. by tuk-tuk, chiefly because this time I’m travelling with bit bigger luggage for simply reason- it was included in price so I thought, why not ? Most weight were 6 books I took with me hoping to read them but it turned out I managed to finish only 3. Biggest suitcase allowed me to stock up on coffee and certain soaps I always buy in Thailand. Thing I like about Bayioke is that view is guaranteed as lowest floor is 19th and guests have free access to viewing platform on the top. Hotel is not teenager exactly and is bit worn off but rooms are big and bathroom was for sure at least of the same size like my whole room in Ibis Styles where I stay in Feb. so no claustrophobic feeling at all. Room was not ready , their check in and check out hours are bit different , check-out by 11, check in from 2, typical for hotels with plenty of organized tours. So I left luggage , Lined Jey Spa if they can bring Maii2 for 2.30. As always response was almost immediate. I still had some time so wandered through the area which is not exactly shiny in comparison to Silom or Sukhumvit but certainly lively and safe. Then had nice walk to Nana Station , from there BTS to Phrom Phong and walk to soi 43 to arrive just on time as receptionist told me my boy just arrived too. We met twice in Jan and he remembered me greeting me with prolonged hug. After great night, great day too. Very enjoyable session . Did not come cheap, 1250 for VIP room for 1.50hr, minimum tip 1800 but I upped to 2200 just to let Maii know I was happy. Jey Spa continues to shine, first Noom , now Maii certainly worth the time to get there and expense. As a bonus Maii dropped me at BTS station but because it was rush hour I made sure I behaved as passenger without any questionable moves. In hotel room was waiting for me , this time on 58 floor only , probably 10 floors down compare to last year at the same time and it was normal window, not panoramic glass but that’s the price for picking up cheaper option. In the evening dinner with anddy in G’Bangkok . Motorsai for 80 baht . At restaurant I utilized their Tursday schnitzel special again. Hugs with both barkers at Banana, I have hots for one of them , I think I mentioned it already, but I’m too shy to approach him for more than hug and vinapu tuck . Slowly, slowly but surely, there’s still future. Then we decided to check on HotMale but after 11 a lots of guys were already taken including all I’d consider. This deflated me a bit and after making rounds through the area I decided to return home empty handed to my eternal shame. Me sleeping alone in Thailand ? Shot me on the spot ! Not that I did not have option as masseur N is bombarding me with questions when we meet again and I don’t think he is helping his case. Last message rung at 2 am so I advised him to go to bed and applied that advice to myself as well for few moments regretting my phone this morning was not lost for good.

Day 9 N sleeps in his shop. Because of that, 3 days a week he is cleaning it before opening and after closing which I consider very fair. That was reason he could come only at 1 but I did not mind, we still had good , largely sleepless night. Left at 6 to take care about the shop so I returned to warmed bed to get some sleep. At 9 marched to Foodland, heart bleeding becauseby 5 minutes I missed time when breakfast is whopping 10 baht cheaper, then to XOne to exchange money and to Silom market in soi 10 to buy charger as I left mine in hotel in Kuala Lumpur, one of senior moments I guess because I’m not exactly known for leaving my stuff behind. Silom market as market go is very modest affair but yet in my every hour of need , be it charger , coat hangers, baseball hat, undies, t-shirt , pen , day pack , you name it ,I go there and find what I need , usually for very little. I spotted one of Jupiter mamasans manning one of the stands. In hotel no water again but power was so I made a coffee and then took BTS to Madrid for lunch with Christian PFC. Always interesting chat over tasty pizza, we have our ritual and share whatever we ordered half / half with each other. We walked back , I was mindful that I have to meet P from Hot Male at 3 to check stamp collection so made sure I’m there , in still empty soi on time. No sight of him , nor even answer to my Lines so at 3.30 I left empty handed. Reader reported that he will be drinking coffee at Coffee Grinder at 5 if I want to join so I used that occasion to complain, his answer was very reasonable P obviously is not in a need of money. Good for P thought I. Just before 5 I got message from him “ sorry I slept in”. Too late obviously as I had other designs this afternoon. Reader and I exchanged news while tasting their coffee and first and foremost admiring their cheerful and handsome staff. I even get bonus when boys were readying to leave at they close at 6 one of them changed shirt to reveal torso worth 2750 baht short time in process. This trip I decided firmly to return to old butterflying days, did not work exactly as intended with few repats anyways but at least I tried and liked it. Today I scheduled last bar I did not visit yet- Dreamboys so around 9 went there. Several boys on the stage already , among them Fai, very good masseur I know from Arena so called him for drink, shortly his brother Dit arrived to wing me from other side. I was hoping to see Y , who impressed me on my last night in Feb and yes , he was on the stage. No time was wasted to bring him over for a drink and before his was delivered , night’s fate was sealed. A, the hunk spotted me as well so I invited him for drink too , if only to tell him that I did not like last week when he abandoned me from another customer. This time he did not go anywhere until his drink was finished . So I used that to try to wrestle him a bit which we always do , he always wins but my ego is still boosted because I manage to resist for a bit. He made suggestion we repeat Feb feast with Y and him together but I said that for me it’s twice expense for half fun so he gave up trying. In models parade I noticed few new faces, Jack who appeared very nervous last week seems settled now but for now Mean seem to be my #1. I also noticed I’m warming up to Babe, perhaps because now he is not one to close parade as he always did , now he is one of many. I did not see Nut last time neither during parade today but at one point he showed up, came to say hallo, admitted casually he is late and way he was dressed made me suspect that he must be in good hands now. Very formal and elegant at the same time so I’m happy for him he found his girl or man, whoever. Another one not present was Nicky, neither last week nor today but time I was in love with him is long gone. I’m glad they are trying to refresh their models stable as old faces and bodies , while still attractive are becoming bit stale so new blood is needed. On another hand I must admit original set was of really outstanding quality, real hunky hunks while never crew is somewhat mixed which is not necessarily wrong as not everybody likes that type. I was so excited and happy that I almost pay dearly for all that fun but that’s the story for next installment .

Day 7 I waked up at 8.30 and right after breakfast I went to take hop-on , hop off bus. Virgin trip for me as I never used it anywhere. It has 17 or 18 stops , runs every 20 mins and covers all main attractions. I don’t remember cost but something tells me 60 normal , 30 senior. Whatever it is , good value for money. Mostly it stops only if there’s request but at Royal Palace ( I think is called National House there was 20 minutes stop for photos and toilet. I regret not having stop at birds park , apparently biggest of this kind in the world and it looked big although probably can take good part of day to visit so other places would be missed) It seemed most of tourist on my bus were locals and this being Malaysia comments were in good English. At stop nr 14 or 15 I decide to modify my plans as it was KL Tower, another high place. They have glass booths similar to ones at Mahanakhon but enclosed and time there is monitored and limited to few minutes. Those who remember old 1 ringgit note , Tower was featured on it. No senior discount so full 110 price but it was worth it if only to see Petronases from up high. Tower is on the hill so if taking public transit it may be n bit of uphill walk. Then I took the same bus to Bukit where I had lunch , of course chicken with cashew nuts , if only to compare with Bangkok. Then to Central market where I bought few trinkets for folks at home and from there I walked to nearby Merdeka (Freedom) square with interesting architecture and pole with giant Malaysian flag. As main squares go this was on human scale and I liked it. From my school years I recalled book called “Merdeka means freedom “ about Malaysian independence struggle and was glad that I was finally able to be there. It was afternoon and heat get to me so I decided to return to hotel as my friend had some entertainment planned for us for the evening. Because nature of this trip I constantly compare Thailand with Malaysia and must say in one filed Kuala Lumpur beat Bangkok not 10 but 20 times. Grindr. While in BKK I get few messages a day here my phone was pinging constantly , record I noted was 19 messages in 1 hour ! Unfortunately I did not utilize opportunity but it was close call as one guy accosting me actually stay in the same hotel. How I know? He actually told me he saw me in the lobby. Unfortunately he was not exactly my type and he killed his chances with calling me ‘daddy ‘ . I was called worse by better people but hate that. Call me old or ancient but ‘daddy ‘ or ‘papa ‘ is death sentence as far as engagement is concerned. We actually came eye to eye in the evening when my friend arrived and guy just emerged from hotel. Not sure he tried to stalk me but later he sent me a message saying how disappointed he is with my lack of interest. Then my friend and me went to some well conspired place providing massage services for man by man. One needs to call to get admission to the building , then wait for unit to open. Inside there were quite a few attractive guys so we made our pick and pay fee of 280 for 1.5 hr. of full service, whatever it is. Then we went to another locale in the same building where we could survey stamp collection or whatever was on the table. Place was clean, guy, Myanmarese, was willing and time kept to a minute. So I liked it , tipped guy 100 extra although I was told it was not necessary. 380 RM is roughly 3000 baht so is comparable to Bkk prices in Silom ghetto or likes like Jey Spa or Prince. Thrill was for free. My friend dropped me at hotel, my stalker was nowhere to be seen although there were few messages from him I mentioned earlier. I had moment thinking about calling him over but my gut feeling told me ‘no’, he was just too persistent, forget even whole ‘daddy ‘ issue. Floridarob claims I’m easy but I have some idiosyncrasies I observe and being too pushy or too persistent is one of them, specially when guy is of unknown quality. I even went downstairs to store nearby to buy package of loose leaf BOH tea, Malaysian brand from Cameron highlands which I found very good.

Very important not to tell them you are first time in Thailand they will try to take advantage of newby naive tourist.

Took one for the team. Based on a single weekend day visit, really nothing to recommend it. However, if you have the time it’s perhaps worth it to see for yourself. There was one explicitly available massajista, a little older and I think danced at Gigolo Erotic House, but I did not pursue as had been getting some just fine at St Moritz. I did not confirm, but two young slim locals may have been providers. Bigger table in the one massage space, a space also substantial in size compared to St Moritz but no evidence of sheets or a more than the typical fragmentary terry cloth towel to lay down on the vinyl. It seemed quiet but there were two dozen + locks tallied in the locker room. Didn’t see any evidence of private rooms for client action. Then realized all attendees were crammed into either the small darkroom, the steam, or the sauna. It was chilly (I often had hotel heating cranked up) and perhaps the customers lack home heating and head there to warm up. Über 30 minutes and merely COP15,000 base each way. Seemed to be a love/sex motel street. Vibrant neighborhood Venecia. If one conceptualizes a distance triangle where Chapinero is the first point, then airport n/w and Venecia s/w are approximately equidistant remaining points.
