  3. FIrst the facts. The Study was carried out by Ipsos, the world's third largest research company, in only 30 countries between February 17 and March 3 and involved only 22,514 adults under the age of 75. It is therefore hardly very wide-ranging. But it does seem to indicate a trend. It found that Millennials and Gen Zers were more likely to identify as queer, bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual or asexual than older generations. I think this is hardly surprising as study after study in Asian countries like Japan, Taiwan and elsewhere have identified the older generations as being more anti-gay. This was certainly true in Taiwan where religious and older groups tried hard to block the gay marriage legislation. It is also no doubt true in Singapore where it is the relatively recent rise of mega-evangelical churches which, according to a 2009 Report in the Singapore Straits Times, count for a whopping 10% of the city state's charities. Why these churches should benefit from charitable status beats me, when their shenanigans have included one so-called pastor, Kong Hee of the City Harvest Church, and some of his church leaders being jailed for having misused $50 million of church funds. More than half of that amount was uselessly spent trying to develop the pastor's wife's singing career in the USA. In Los Angeles, this woman rented a $28,000 a month apartment and gave $1.9 million to rapper Wyclef Jean to produce an album - that totally bombed! When Kong was in jail, the congregants somehow permitted his wife to become the pastor! And tens of thousands still believe these thieves and their homophobic utterances. Anothe pastor, Lawrence Khong of the Singapore Faith Community mega-Baptist Church, is a magician - literally. When not screaming about gays and calling "the homosexual act the greatest blasphemy against the name of God", he runs an entertainment company and presents magic shows. Many wish he would include a disappearing act and just emerge in a puff of smoke. Thankfully, despite their best efforts, these bigots failed in their attempts to persuade the government to retain the notorious anti-gay Section 377A of the penal code. Back to the Ipsos Study. 56% said that gay marriage should be allowed legally. Women were more in favour of gay marriage than men. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/06/02/us/adults-identify-lgbtq-survey/index.html The full interesting detail of the survey is here - https://www.ipsos.com/sites/default/files/ct/news/documents/2023-05/Ipsos LGBT%2B Pride 2023 Global Survey Report - rev.pdf

  5. There were indeed quite a few of these booklets, often with interesting information. But with respect I think your memory is not quite accurate regarding the Australian taken to Court. If we are referring to the same incident, there is an excellent report of it here - https://web.archive.org/web/20050606015724/http:/www.yawningbread.org/arch_2005/yax-435.htm For those not interested in wading through a very long article, the bare bones were these. Some may recall a travel company in the early 2000s named Utopia Tours with its office based in the Tarntawan Hotel (it actually started business in 1998). It organised gay-themed tours to various parts of Asia with gay guides, although only the guides for the evening tours took patrons to gay venues. I remember it well because it organised excellent tours to Phnom Penh and Luang Prabang for me. In March 2004, police raided the company's office alleging they were on the lookout for companies arranging sex tours for pedophiles. This was total nonsense. It was based on the flimsiest of grounds and only because they had seen some free gay magazines on a table in the shop. It was titled 'Thai Guys'. All the company's computers and files were removed and all but one of the staff detained overnight. As is usual in this country, the following day there was a media conference with the 'evidence' placed in a table in front of the accused directors, Douglas Thomson, John Goss and Robert Scobie, whose apartments had been raided. And again as usual, the police painted a lurid picture of the men engaged in sexual enslavement of children and arranging prostitution. Had it all been so simple and the full facts discovered, perhaps everything might have died down. Unfortunately Robert Scobie had been on the Australian Federal Police Watch List, although his fellow directors were not aware of this. While Deputy Ambassador in Hanoi in the 1980s, Scobie had been linked to questionable photgraphs sent in the diplomatic bag. For several years, according to the article, there had been a "simmering paranoia" about Australian pedophiles in Asia. Questions had been asked in parliament. It was alleged there were at least 20 diplomats engaged in such activity. It seemed that Scobie was being "nailed", rightly or wrongly. For a time the Australian police had a team based in Thailand to investigate the general accusations. It is even suggested that once Scobie had been arrested, the Australian ambassador went to the Immigration Department to congratulate them on the raid on Spice Trade travel (the formal name of Utopia Tours). Goss, a US citizen, and Scobie had their passports confiscated. Eventually they were returned and the case basically dismissed! But the Australians were incensed. Pressure was put on the Thai government and the case was reopened - to be heard not in the High Court where cases regarding pedophilia would normally be heard, but in the lowest Thai Court which would normally hear cases dealing with traffic offences. The trial took place in November 2004 before one judge. Extraordinarily, he gave an order that the media could not take written notes on pain of imprisonment! Scobie's private files from his home were entered into evidence even though they had nothing to do with the Spice Trade trial. At the trial it was established that Spice Trade did not publish Thai Guys. Further that the publishers had not been arrested. In Thailand porn is not acutally illegal. Trading in it is. Yet, Thai Guys was a free magazine! Scobie was sentenced to 7 months in prison and a fine of 10,000 baht; Goss got 8 months and 20,000 baht. But both were suspended and some employees had work visas cancelled. By now the Tourism Authority of Thailand had become involved. It suspended Utopia Tours licence to trade for 6 months. Perhaps oddly, the Thais really wanted the case to disappear. It was the Australians who kept pressing for more and more action. Utopia Tours eventually returned under a rebranded name (I believe it was Purple Dragon). But the damage had been done. It could not last. The company died. John Goss gave his own version of the story with much more detail in another very long article - https://web.archive.org/web/20050731080446/http://www.yawningbread.org/guest_2005/guw-098.htm

  7. I'd add a thought about culture clashes. If you don't share the same cultural background as the other party, it's all too easy to misunderstand what they are really saying, and to be misunderstood. For example, if your (unspoken, maybe even unconscious) expectation is for honesty and objective truth but his social imperative is face-saving and harmony, he will tell you what you want to hear, and will mistake your directness for something else.

  8. OVERDUE TRIP REPORT Hi guys. This trip actually happened in January but now I am just getting around to writing about it! Unfortunately it was only a short trip, and also unfortunately I had some health issues come up which prevented me from doing everything that I had planned, but I will write about some of things I got up to. Arrival Not much to write about, but upon disembarking and going into the airport, the door going into the airport was locked so we all stood around for a bit whilst someone came to unlock it. Immigration was fairly close to where I was (and very busy) but I had to visit the toilet first, after which I found another immigration section which had considerably less people. Went through pretty quickly only needing my passport and boarding pass (no TM6 needed), and then went to collect my suitcase which took a considerable amount of time, and to put icing on the cake, the luggage tag on my suitcase must have fallen off or been ripped off in transit as it was not there. Shame, as I liked it. Pattaya (Jomtien) In the past I had taken the bus every time I had been to Pattaya, but I thought for this trip I would try go by car. I booked Mike Taxi via the form on their website and communication was quick and efficient. 1000 THB to Pattaya. Found the representative at the arrival area, was told to wait for a bit before being sent off after being told the licence plate number and to go to the '2nd lane' which I had no idea what she meant, but then figured it out once I got outside. The trip was non-eventful (the driving was probably a little fast for my liking) but we made it there in 1.5 hours. As I looked out the window whilst driving through Pattaya I noticed more foreigners than Thais which I guess is a good sign that tourism is returning to normal. Arrived at Agate, which is beautifully presented and quite spacious (and for me, much better than Zing), went for a walk to TT and 7-11 to get some supplies. Had a decent foot massage at Burirom Massage and got some grab food for dinner. Note: the body wash at Agate smells divine. Other things I got up to in Jomtien included walking the length of Dongtan Beach all the way to the view point, hanging out at one of the gay concessions at Dongtan Beach where I lazed happily reading a book (on my phone) and admired some handsome French men who were at the same concession, had a 'massage' at one of the places in the complex (I cannot remember the name, but it was the 2nd of the two that are on the same road as the Agate) which was kinda nice but not totally satisfying, did a morning walk of some of the length of Jomtien Beach (up until the boat ramp) and turns out that many people also had the same idea. I did do a lap of the complex on one of the evenings, but no-one really 'jumped out at me' so to speak, Grindr was also a little quiet for me, but I was not feeling 100% so I didn't mind. To Bangkok Upon checking out, the driver from Mike's Taxi was already waiting for me. I think next time I will take the bus - this driver drove also quite fast, was eating a mandarin, talking on the phone, texting on the phone, and at times talking to himself. Stopped twice so he could go to the toilet (totally fine) and another in Bangkok where he bought some food at a roadside stall down a random alley. But we made it safely. It took about 2.5 hours, and cost 1200 THB. We arrived at about 2:30pm and I was getting a little worried as I had an appointment and Cutey and Beauty at 3:00pm. Checked into the Tarntawan with a 'welcome back', turns out my room was not ready yet, not to worry I said I would go to 7-11, to which they told me it was being renovated. Not to worry, I went to the other 7-11 (the big one) to buy a few things, back to the hotel and my room still wasn't ready and it was approaching 3:00pm (I did tell them I had an appointment), but at the last minute it was ready, I put my stuff in my room and headed to Cutey and Beauty and made my appointment on time. The owner or manager was out the front presumably waiting for me (as he greeted me by name), and I was ushered in and introduced to the attractive guys that would be attending to me. I firstly had a mani/pedi then a facial then a haircut. It was quite relaxing to be pampered. Cost THB 1500. Afterwards I went to Prime to make an appointment for either that night or the next day but turns out they had an appointment available in 25 minutes so I went back to the hotel for a bit then went back to Prime for my 1 hour foot/1 hour Thai which is my favourite combination. High quality as usual. Walked around Silom a little, had dinner at Bon Chon at Silom Complex, and later went to Dreamboys where I got to see their new premises for the first time. I had been there before but when it was Lucky Boys. Sat up the back (my preferred seating) watched the show for a bit, saw my favourite dreamboy to which he noticed me, came over, we caught up and went back to the hotel together. It was getting late at this stage so by the time we finished having fun he said 'good night' and that is how my first accidental long time eventuated. I much prefer short time, but because I had offed him a few times in the past it was fine. Other things I did in Bangkok included walking around Lumpini Park, eating at Sunrise Tacos on soi 4 (which was quite nice), Somtum Der (also very nice), went to Senso for the first time where I had a great time - most of the guys there are hunks, but I ended up choosing a guy who was more of a twink because as he was super attractive. Went up what seemed to be never-ending stairs, showered separately beforehand, the massage was fine and the afters were quite good - his dick was shaped nicely and hit all the right spots. Showered together afterwards, and exchanged line details. Would definitely repeat, not cheap though. The premises/ambience was quite nice. Also went to Dreamboys again, this time earlier in the evening to do a short time with my favourite so that he could be back in time to do the show. Sent him off with some goodies from 7-11 that I couldn't take with me. Trip back home By this time I was feeling quite unwell and just wanted to get home so I could recover. But alas, it was not meant to be. Turns out that I somehow had mixed up the time of my return flight and only realised my mistake when I was on the train to the airport and the flight had already departed. I talked to a few staff but nothing much could be done, so I tried to book another flight from my phone and was nearly successful apart from when I had to provide the 'one time password' which is sent to my regular number (I had a travel SIM in my phone at the time), so swapped SIM cards to get the code, and swapped back and by that time the whole thing had timed out, so I gave up and decided to go to the airport hotel (which was very nice, but cost an arm and a leg) and deal with it all later. Under normal circumstances I would have just jumped back onto the slut bus back to Silom and continued my holiday for a bit longer, but I was just not feeling it. So after checking in and having something to eat, I searched around for a suitable flight, found one which departed a few days later and booked it. What I decided to do in the days leading up to the flight (inspired by Vinapu) is stay at some different hotels along the airport rail link. Hotels First up was the Baiyoke Sky Hotel (which is close to Ratchprarop station). It is very tall and I stayed on the 67th floor. The view was amazing (although the room I got only had 2 small windows, rather than a floor to ceiling view, maybe I chose the wrong room type), but that is all that is going for it to be honest. The hotel was a little tired and probably needs some renovation. It was quite roomy though. Next stop was the Nasa Hotel (which was near Ramkhamhaeng station). The reviews were not very good, but I decided to try anyway. I booked the most expensive room type and when I got there, I was wondering if this is the most expensive, then what would the cheaper rooms look like? Anyway, it was only for a night and I just wanted to try. And finally the next hotel was The Silver Palm Wellness Resort (near Hua Mak station). This was quite nice actually. It was like a resort style nestled in the middle of a bustling city. Finally the next day I caught my flight successfully on Cathay Pacific. The lounge at Suvarnabhumi was not open so I got to use the KLM lounge which was not amazing, but okay. The lounge in Hong Kong was very very nice though. I made it home finally, and recovered well and decided maybe not to go to Thailand for at least a year. However, that idea was short-lived as I will now be there next month lol. I'm going to do it better this time and enjoy myself more!

  10. Hello. I appreciate your response. Regarding the gogoboy I encountered, he stays alone in a hotel room (he once invited me to his hotel room). Based on my interactions with him over the past few days, it is evident that my gogoboy is gay and prefers the bottom role. (Sometimes I saw his effeminate side) When it comes to emotions, he has been making me experience feelings of love, and his treatment towards me resembles that of a boyfriend. Even after I returned to Singapore, he continued to text me, which brought me considerable happiness. 😕Actually I wasn’t planning to find love in gogoboy bar or even Bangkok because of the 3000km distance issue , honestly speaking I never thought I would fall in love with him .

  12. The money isn't an issue with me either, it's still a lot less than home. I was just surprised at the difference. What I really liked in Colombia was the quality of the men compared to Canada. The guys in Colombia made a genuine effort to make sure I enjoyed myself compared to the indifference of a lot of the $300 CAD escorts at home. One guy was older and heavier than in his photo, but he was fun to be with and I really enjoyed myself so it was a good lesson for me.

  13. I'm curious about something: Based on my understanding, the majority of gogoboy workers in Bangkok are not Thai but primarily from countries like Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and others. I'm wondering if, once they have earned enough money, they tend to return to their home countries rather than staying in Bangkok for an extended period of time? During my visit to one of the gogoboy bars, I heard that most of them stay in 2 or 3-star hotels instead of renting apartments. (But why not rent instead?) During my visit to a gogoboy bar in Silom, I was captivated by a gogoboy from Burma (Myanmar). I ended up booking him for the entirety of my 5-night stay in Bangkok simply because I enjoyed his company. Over time, I started developing feelings for him, and we have continued to stay in touch. He frequently texts me and even sends me videos of his whereabouts. He has expressed his longing for me, claiming he loves me, considers me his boyfriend, and insists that he only has feelings for me. However, deep down, I am aware that these declarations may only be partially true, as he might have made similar statements to other customers. When I mentioned that I love him as a customer, he appeared quite saddened by my words. I’m wondering if it’s possible for gogoboy to fall in love with a customer? One final question regarding gogoboys: Do gogoboys working in gogoboy bars receive salary from the bar, or is their income primarily derived from customers who purchase drinks, provide tips, and engage in sexual services with them?

    Respite from northern heat

Last week I decided to escape the heat in northern Thailand and enjoy a few days in the heat of Pattaya and Bangkok. Firstly a shout out for Mikes Taxi for the Bkk to Pattaya trip - never a problem with bookings and from my few experiences on time and very good service. Only 2 days in Pattaya - i enjoyed time at a very quiet Dongtan Beach athough my no.79 beach massage man was around both days. At night i visited Nice Boys, Toy Boys and XBoys. The latter has a show which included one explicit final act - a handful of customers. Always amazed at the stamina of star performer Bang. Toy Boys had several asian customers including several females, one of whom delivered 20 thb tips to the stage boys. At least 20 boys. No. 77 from Myanmar and No. 85 from Cambodia were delightful company. I find the stare gazing technique of some of the lads a little amusing. Much prefer the aloof get me out of here look more appealing 😃. Nice boys had at least 10 boys - all willing to show their wares.Must admit that this visit was much more enjoyable than my sombre previous visit a few months before. More life in the boys and less intrusion from staff. That area seems to be the place to go for middle eastern food Also squeezed in a night massage at Paradise Spa in Boyztown area. Then to Bangkok - 2 massages at different Olivia locations - both good and extras on offer. Coffee at Coffee Gindr Silom which is very pleasant. My florentine biscuit was delicious. Visits to Dreamboys and Screwboys. Dreamboys has lots of men on stage covering all preferences - my friend working there pointed out a guy on stage who is 50 - ripped and could easily leave his footwear outside my room. The show has lots of ladyboy lipsyncers - the best parts for me are the energetic coyote dancers and the bearded strongly calved (which I admired and felt) performer. Men on stage dressed in white shorts. My old favourite Screwboys - stage lads in white basketball outfits with some shirtless. Prefer the old previous blue and white briefs/ boxers🙂. Busy the 2 times I went with most seats taken - lively atmosphere. More than happy with my Laos companion who was recommended by mamasan. Drinks 350 thb off fee 500thb. Back again in a few months and visit places missed this visit - Arena, Freshboys, Super A, and revisit others 😄

    Triggering Memories?

Doing some very late Spring cleaning this morning, I came across a Bangkok Gay Guide for June 2007. I believe these were printed monthly and given out free in most of the go-go bars and other gay venues. Usefully Bangkok was split up into various sections to make it easier to find venues.Equally usefully each sub-map has a box with the main venues listed in them. It is not always easy to locate them but if you look closely they are there. I have tried to take photos of several with my phone. I see that Soi Twlight was listed under its proper name, Soi Pratuchai. Sad to see how many are closed. Yet some still survive even if not in the same locations.

    Triggering Memories?

If I recall correctly - and I am not at all convinced that I am - John Goss was associated with Utopia. Indeed he may have started it. The copyright on that site starts in 1994 which was certainly before Utopia Tours started. I only know because a friend of mine who had moved to Asia went to visit him off Sukhumvit (on one of the odd numbered streets after Asoke) from which the original Utopia was based. I suppose there could be an association with the Utopia-Asia site, but that has a ton of information which must have taken a great deal of time to collate over the years. John Goss seems to have restricted his publications to Thailand. That site is still far from perfect, but can be very useful especially if reports from readers are up to date.

  19. Many years ago when Soi Twilight was still around, I propositioned a gogo boy to come to my hotel room in evening at 6pm for short time for one week before he reported to work at 8.30pm. I wanted to forego the bar drink and bar fine but gogo boy was not keen. I couldn't figure out the logic at first. Wouldn't it be a win-win situation for both of us? Then I finally realised that he wanted the bar to look upon him favourably if he had me as a customer every night. It had something to do with the politics of the bar between the gogo boys and the mamasans.

A Thai go go man, now 29, who I have known for ten years, told me that that all the go go men are not doing it for fun or sex or love but for the chance of a big score with one rich customer or a series of rich customers. He has a house and a car now. A Vietnamese go go man, who I asked why they do the job if it is so difficult to earn enough, echoed this when he replied that they hope to 'get lucky'.

  25. The saunas are definitely the safest place in Rio for hookups. In the past, I had advocated for love motels, but this would no longer be advisable — tourist or otherwise, but especially not tourists. Both of the murdered were caught on closed-caption hotel camera, and they must’ve realized there were cameras beforehand (almost all hotels in Rio use them). But apparently, even this isn’t enough to deter desperation. Wallace de Oliveira in the past was both a sauna garoto and a gogo boy.

  27. The problem about airing this problem on any chatroom site is that you are going to get a wide variety of opinions. Which should you consider appropriate to your situation? It's impossible to say. Further, we know almost nothing about you apart from the fact that you mention you are living in Singapore. Are you Singaporean or an expat enjoying a bigger apartment and a better salary that most salaried Singaporeans? For my twopenny worth, it's too easy to fall in love - or to develop a strong attraction for a bar boy - on first meeting, no matter the number of nights you spend together. Put simply, I'd say that's infatuation. It's not love. With respect to you and your feelings, you need to spend 2 or 3 more visits and a lot more time with him before you can really understand what your true feelings are for him. It also helps to find out who his good friends are here. What other posters have said is perfectly true. More than one boy has been known to "love" several farang at the same time and to have each send money for his room or his family. Please also remember that Myanmar is presently in the middle of a ghastly army crackdown with many murdered and no end in sight. China is probably the eminence gris in this scenario. The last thing it wants is problems on its borders. So it feeds cash to the Myanmar army to enable it to purchase weapons - and so on and so forth. That will not end any time soon, in my view. You must also think what might happen in the future if you find your feelings for him are indeed love. Are you happy for him to continue to be based in Bangkok with all the temptations open to bar boys here? Or will he return to what I assume will be poverty in Myanmar. Would you consider asking him to move with you to Singapore - or wherever you are because Singapore is actally 1,800 kms from Bangkok but you mention 3,000 kms which is more like Jakarta? If you'd like him to move back with you, how do you get him a visa to stay more than a very short time? Can he get a work visa? Does he have any work skills that will be welcome where you live - now and in the future? If the answer is no, how do you see the relationship developing? You move to Bangkok? Or you just visit perhaps more regularly? Just thoughts.

  29. Maybe you are talking about me? I was with a burmese boy in Pattaya May 11 - May 18. He stayed with me for the entirety of the whole trip from May 3 to 19 and he even traveled to Pattaya with me. I have a very similar situation as OP, we still keeping in touch, calling each other everyday via LINE, except I not sending him any money and he didn't ask for it. I will write more about my trip on other thread soon. I also have questions about love. PS. Boy is cute and is on smaller side...

  33. Falling in love with a customer is a difficult concept! The boy could have affection for you especially if you are providing him money, but if no money, no chance of love. Of course the customer will often fall in love with the boy, it happens to many of us. Best to tread lightly, enjoy the moment and do nothing rash.

  34. What memories! I recall watching a vdo of the first edition of the British Queer as Folk and being quite amazed that it was shown on a regular TV channel, albeit very late in the evening. Hunnam was then drop dead gorgeous! I read that casting of that character had proved extremely difficult and he was only discovered a few weeks prior to commencement of filmlng. I am sure half the gays in the UK were drooling at that first fully naked gay sex scene between Hunnam as a raw 15 year old (he was 18 at the time of filming) and the older, experienced Aiden.

I agree it's a pleasant city and it does have its own annual Pride Paade with tens of thousands participating. But it does not have a lot of very active gay venues. As it's not at present regarded as a major gay centre, I do question whether it would actually rival such an entrenched and huge event as the Sydney Pride. I agree thouands would descend on the city from around Asia - but from elsewhere? Just curious.

  36. ASEANS have no problem finding Thai-style rooms to rent that don’t involve contracts, just the habit of paying rent in advance. Many have roommates. A better way to evaluate your relationship is to pay attention to what he does as opposed to what he says. Meanwhile, you may wish to ponder the difference between affection and love.

  37. Most immigrant working boys rent rooms monthly, or their friend does and they stay with them. Very few stay alone. 2/3/4 to a room. Sure they return home often to see family if they are illegal, or do a border run (although some have agents that do it for them). Keep in mind many are straight, and live with their wives or girlfriend. It's extremely difficult for immigrants to get long term leases, not to mention save up the 2 month deposit, which is asked in most cases. Especially with condos. As for the love part. You are probably 1 of many customers he sends these messages to daily. Don't fall into that trap. Long game or short game, it's all down to money. I have never heard of a gogo boy working to find love, and not money. Prove me wrong if you want. Find a boy in his first couple weeks, maybe it's possible, but once he's in the game and understands it, you are an ATM to manipulate for cash, if you show yourself as a mark. As for the salary part, that's an impossible question. It depends if they are employed, on a Work VISA, what time they turn up to work to be paid for the day. There are simply too many variables. Generally, the answer is no. They don't get a salary. They live off tips, their cut from bar fines and well, whatever you give them. Keep in mind many have multiple sponsors who send them money because, well, they are "in love". You seem very new to Thailand's gay scene. If you want to find love in Thailand, you're not going to find it in a gogo bar.

  38. Such a shame that Kaohsiung was stripped off the right to host the World Pride in 2025. It's a beautiful city and it would had attracted crowds from all over Asia, much more than Sydney did (even though the crowd was amazing there and I had so much in every way). I have been to the last three editions of the world pride (NYC, Copenhagen and Malmo) but not sure if I want to go to the one in Washington DC in 2025, probably will go the one in Amsterdam one year later. Hopefully they assign it to Bangkok in 2028 as I'm sure the crowd will be great but that it still 5 years away.

  42. nothing awkward , in every bar and on every day there's always that first customer. He may be alone for 2 minutes or 13 and it's nothing awkward in that as it happens every day Reader above is very right, early bird catches the worm although there's element of risk with early start - guy may be keen on speeding up encounter in order to return to bar for 2nd chance so make sure to be firm with timeframe if you care.

  43. you will have fun, rest assured. You made right decision, paying 800 baht joiner fee just to see the ocean is a racket In Agate with good luck you may have a view of pool and lush greenery behind it and no problem with visitors. In host bar have a seat, buy yourself a drink and look around. If you see guy you like , invite him over, buy him a drink and if after conversation you still interested ask him if he will go with you . Chances are he will propose first ! You pay off fee 300-500 baht depending on bar and of both ( or three) of you go. Let as know how you did as promised
