CNN legitimizes Trump
Mavica and 2 others reacted to stevenkesslar for a topic
It was well done. My take away is it illustrated the difference between Trump, a serial abuser and loser, and Reagan, who figured out how to win two landslides. My favorite three explanations: 1. A rioter who was killed is a "patriot." The cop who shot her is a "thug." Generally, rioters who attacks cops viciously and murderously and try to stop a peaceful transfer of power are "great people." 2. Mike Pence deserves no apology because Pence is wrong that his life was in danger. Which, technically, is not as bad as Trump saying something like Pence deserved to die, because he wouldn't be Trump's choice, anyway. We all know Pence was Trump's choice, until he declined to abuse The Constitution. 3. None of this would have mattered if Chris Miller had deployed the National Guard, as Trump ordered him to do. Except Miller says Trump lied about that. Except Trump says Miller lied. Can someone explain that? So, I think it helps frame questions that all Americans should think about. Why is it that Donald Trump can't get a fair trial, anywhere? Why is it that the only people who tell the truth these days are Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson? Somebody does need to explain these things to us. Why not believe a convicted abuser and serial loser like President DJT? I agree with My Dearest and Darlingest Sis @Suckrates that Trump set a new despicable low in his deposition. Which, sadly, he could not match on CNN. He only called Kaitlin Collins a "nasty person." In my book, that fell well short of telling her she wouldn't be a choice of his, either. If the people who actually believe Trump's lies and slurs want him to win in 2024, I'm afraid he's going to have to explain, and lose, a lot more.3 points -

Was it by design that the moderator kept referring to Trump as "President Trump" ? Was that also a measure to legitimize him and what he was saying ?? As well, the audience stacked with his "supporters" also referred to him as President Trump when asking questions and thanking him for coming. He is NOT President Trump now. He is Mr Trump. With that said, his "performance" was the usual Trump trainwreck, a boiling cauldron of Lies , misinformation and conspiracy theory. What he said should have given EVERYONE that was watching or listening some food for thought. Instead what we got was an audience filled with stupid, delusional people, that hungrily lapped up all Trumps "spilt milk", while laughing at Trumps mocking of EG Carroll, and applauding his pledge to "pardon" Jan 6th charged insurrectionists. It was an outrageous and disgusting display of Trump grandiosity, and a glimpse of things to come.2 points -

No doubt? Are these facts or your imagination? Trump does not need legitimation from any news network or media. He is a criminal and a piece of shit, but he is a former president. The US electoral system gave him legitimacy, and many Americans who still love him maintain it. Sure, many trumpards are idiots and racist, ignorant scum, but still, they are US citizens, and their opinion has the same weight as anyone else. Trump is not even the worse bag of trash coming from the GOP. There are many more ignorant, more racist, more absurdly legitimate characters coming from his tribe. Having Trump in a town hall is good political practice if it is well done. He is a legitimate politician, whether or not we like it. I do not think he will have control over the questions. If CNN gave him control, then you are right. But any news media should be willing to invite all voices of the political spectrum, even clowns like Trump.2 points -

Living in Cairo as a gay expat
AsianExplorer reacted to Bruno for a topic
I recently came across this forum and have been reading the many posts on gay adventures in beautiful Egypt. I wanted to pay my contribution by adding stories of my experiences as a 30-year old European expat living in Cairo between 2015 and 2020. My apologies for the context I would like to provide. The main reason for leaving Europe in 2015 was the lack of adventure and excitement I felt in my early thirties. I was living in rainy Western Europe, had random unexcited hook ups via Tindr or Grindr once in a while, but generally felt like living a boring routine. Therefore, I applied for a teaching position at a Cairo international school, was offered the job and left for the unknown. The moment I arrived at Cairo Airport, I knew I was about to love this country: chaos, shouting everywhere, a lack of structure, adventure, the heat, ... Soon I was about to discover something else: the ridiculously handsome men available... everywhere. The school arranged us a flat in a lush suburb south of the city center, Maadi. Having your own space, it turned out quickly, had amazing advantages in terms of excitement. Each apartment building in Maadi is guarded by a bowab, a local doorkeeper, often from the southern Egyptian regions. Separated from their families in the warm south and often very young of age, their main task is to maintain the building and secure your safety. The first week of arrival, our building's bowab asked me to help him move a table in one of the other flats. it was 'too heavy to lift by one person only'. How naive could I be? Soon he wanted to show me the flat's bathroom 'as it was more modern than mine'. Before I realised, we were showering together. The sex was quick, rough and meaningless. Finished by a 'Welcome to Egypt', I could not have imagined this to be start of a new journey. I subscribed at a local gym. After work, not wanting to hang out with my colleagues all the time, I would hit the place and finish off in the sauna. Within days, I became part of the (gym) community. Egyptians are very eager to meet foreigners in general and the sociological characteristics of that Maadi sauna were of an interest to me. After working out, men would typically hang out in the sauna or in the steam bath. All pre-arranged married, they did not seem to have the appetite to go home early. Neither did they particularly seem to like / love their wives. They all raved about their kids, yet - Egyptians don't shy the topic - the marital sex life was far from satisfying for many of them. Most men I met in the gym (and later), it seemed to me, were eager to enjoy and explore life. The word 'gay' was never mentioned, nor assumed. It was all about enjoying, relaxing, massaging, smoking shisha, going home and watching porn / masturbating together, having a beer, smoking hasjish and finishing off with quick, good sex. Five of us would become friends with benefits: through them - on parties in Maadi or the city center - I would meet other men. In exchange, I invited expat colleagues. I could never have imagined this being the Middle East. Men looked beyond gorgeous with their muscled bulky bodies, deep voices, dark-brown soft skin, cheeky smiles and endless capacity to explore. They all seemed so relaxed. They live life to the fullest, especially as the Revolution had proven that things could turn to worse very quickly. That atmosphere felt so sexy and harmless. I never felt the need to turn on Grindr on Tindr, you just would meet endless boys and men in the supermarket, in coffee bars, on the metro, in taxi's (Uber got introduced when I was living in Cairo - a hot spot as well) and in bars and clubs in the city center. In terms of Cairo, I remember the railway station (Ramses Station) and the huge square in front of it to be a popular hook up spot, as well as the bridge crossing the Nile at Tahrir Square (Qasr El Nil Bridge). However, as mentioned, there never seemed to be the need to look for something. It would come to you! In Aswan, for instance, I was approached by the taxi driver who drove me from the airport to the hotel late at night. Nubian penises and fatter are bigger than in Cairo. Moreover, the city's feluccas and corniche are ridiculously cruisy, both at day and night. I occasionally picked a handsome (and incredibly fit) felucca sailor and we had sex in his boat around Elephant Island in the River Nile. On a Luxor trip, I would visit the temples and Valley of the Kings in the very early morning and relax at the hotel's pool / room in the early afternoon. As mentioned on this blog earlier, staff is eager to meet you. Egyptians are allowed to enter the big hotels without any issue. There is too much passage to control. At the Luxor Steigenberger I invited a fruit vendor I met at the temples earlier that day. His triceps were the biggest I had ever felt in my life. Although the sex was rubbish, just seeing him undress and observe his body was a pleasure enough. Alexandria is a driving sea city in which all life surrounds the most amazing sea side boulevard I have ever came across. Hotels turn into rooftop night clubs at night. People enter and leave the buildings at a paste unable to control. When looking for more adventure, try one of the many desert tours (with overnight camping - pleasure guaranteed with the staff), a Siwa oasis visit, crossing the Suez Canal from Port Said to Port Fouad, relaxing in one of Dahab's open-minded hammock guest houses or staying over at one of the 'liberal / freedom camps' between Sharm-El Sheikh and Taba. Having an Egyptian boyfriend - I got even introduced to his (well-educated) parents - is a different story. They are hard work. In the flux they are at, it almost seems impossible for them to meaningfully connect to one person. Monogamy is unheard of in Egypt's gay community. They key words remain pleasure, devotion, emotion, passion, unlimited sexual drive and endless adventures. Enjoy this marvelous spot on Earth, both culturally and spiritually! Cheers B.1 point -
Just finished packing for my first cross ocean trip since December 2020. I arrive Bangkok early on the 13th. The last day of the election campaign is the 14th. From The Thaiger Thailand‘s Department of Medicine is warning partygoers against taking “Happy Water,” a dangerous cocktail of various illicit drugs which has become an “epidemic” in the country’s nightlife scene, reports KhaoSod. Happy Water is made by mixing various drugs into a sweetened drink, typically including ketamine, ecstasy, methamphetamine, diazepam, caffeine, and tramadol all in one, according to the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Medical Services Dr Manat Phothaphon. Dr Manat said that when ingested, Happy Water can cause all kinds of psychotropic effects such as stimulating, hallucinogenic, sedative, and depressive depending on the main substance mixed. “[Happy Water] is a fast-spreading epidemic which is very worrying because mixing drugs, or taking high quantities of drugs, especially when mixed with alcohol, can be dangerous to the body or even cause death.”1 point

I had travellers diarrhea like clockwork my first half dozen or so visits, in spite of Dukoral prophylaxis as prescribed at the get go. I did find Imodium could help, particularly if stranded without facilities, but at times I preferred to let all the matter pass through the GI system. Sometimes broad spectrum Cipro. Hydration+++ and pure psyllium husk from Gujarati, but you can buy psyllium in Brazil bulk bin stores. I don’t take Metamucil. Had to adapt to what can realistically transpire sexually at those times. Never really felt virally ill. At all times when douching, only purified water. Even then, boiled cooled and stored for use. A bit of salt for PH balance. Adult full brief diapers have occasionally saved my skin when without toilet access. In subsequent years I seem to be mostly spared the ‘revenge’ and my Depends panties make it back home with me. The connection between precaution and prevention may be specious but precaution is not that inconvenient or labour-intensive.1 point

Au contraire, that’s about all you can do, and do. You seem to want to consistently influence it a particular way and revel in it to boot, as if your identity is predicated on being contrarian, collective anonymity a type of shield within grenade-lobbing commentary. As if you alone reached the epitome of integrity preservation in sex trade contexts and you wish to underscore that you have obtained the optimal standard, emphasizing doing what works for you a flimsy coating of what actually seems to come across as contemptuous. We might consider the prerogative of our unique style as magnanimous when referenced, to the extent it has worth as a general principle depending on the source encouraging it, but for the undercurrent of disdain, Greek chorus style. Perhaps you already possess insight about this and have lock-stepped into crossfire between commentary directed to you and what, granted, is not so illegitimately retaliatory on your part. But the seemingly irreversible circulatory lacks true yield. Maybe I’m preaching to a sacrificial lamb bot diverting trollistic energies.1 point -
Riiiiight. Politely and respectfully, not depersonalized, was definitely the impression you gave (see below). Say now, why is it again we need to read over and over again how you do you? I have never been to your Canadian strip clubs, so I can't comment on that. But so far in Brazil I don't have problem getting sex from the GPs of my choice, and I don't have problem declining. Former officeholders, including US Presidents, are most often publicly addressed using their former title. We see / hear that on a daily basis no matter the media outlet. Presidents, Congressmen, Mayors, Cabinet secretaries, Generals. CNN chose a lightweight to moderate, which was a mistake. He may have been given moderator approval. Trump ran over her, repeatedly. It was a GOP townhall but whomever organized the attendees out-foxed (no pun intended) CNN by the imbalance and seeming absence of independents. Trump was obviously speaking to his base. I don't think he won-over anyone who didn't vote for him in 2020. Yes, he's the Devil incarnate.1 point

My darlingest love, it does go to show that even mature cock suckers can change. You were always the one that could take more. I guess as I have aged, with enormous grace, I have developed a certain tolerance. Although not for Trump's little thing, of course. Or his lies. We both know size matters. And the bigger the better. Even with rope, it turns out. I think Kaitlan just kept handing Trump enormous amounts of rope. And he hung himself, again and again. Not hung in the way you and I prefer, of course. Had I been in the audience, grace would mean giving out free Pepto Bismol. Half the shit he said made me want to vomit. Had the audience booed and hissed every time President DJT opened his mouth, that would have just looked like CNN socialists. Who have no grace regardless of age. They are simply extremists who are wired to be cruel to an abusive liar who can't even get a fair trail, for Pete's sake. (Don't let me get distracted about Pete and Chasten's sex life, though.) So I personally liked the optics of Trump saying all this ridiculous implausible shit while an audience of the faithful, I guess, mostly sat in awe and reverence. Sure, they could have actually had Trump abusing or even raping someone to applause. But calling Kaitlan a nasty girl went far enough, I think. The way Trump will win is to talk 24/7 about how the Biden economy sucks. And the Trump economy was better. I posted already that when asked about the economy, stupid, voters right now say Trump did a better job on the economy by 52/36 or so. I'm not sure I trust that number. The grass is always greener on the other side. Regardless, whenever Trump is explaining his lies, his abuse, his rapes, why "Hang Mike Pence" is not an actual death threat, or why cop beaters are "great people," he is losing.1 point -

At the time the Jan. 6th hearings were happening, a lot of conservatives said it had made absolutely no difference in the polls. The hearings were a big nothing burger. And of course Biden got lots of pushback for trying to make the election about democracy, when people were mostly pissed about inflation. Somehow, the red wave of 2022 never happened. There's no truly objective way to know why. Even if you read every poll. People sort it out in their own minds. But it sure seems like all this stuff about democracy and Jan. 6th and election denial made a difference. And as you said, both sides have their issues. It's now clear a lot of people will vote Democratic simply because of abortion. If Trump wins, it will be because of the economy, stupid. A recession is what I think could take Biden out. But even in a situation like that, for a lot of people it will be lesser of evils. As it was last year, with inflation. But the 2022 midterm results suggest that for a lot of people, the election denial and Jan. 6th and the whole Trump thing was just a bridge too far. Even though I am a liberal, what I thought was particularly good is that all the "normie" conservatives (DeSantis, Kemp, Sununu, DeWine) did just fine. But all the Trump election deniers went down in flames. It could not have been more clear. And yet, so far it seems the Trumpy Republican base basically doesn't give a shit. One of my brothers, who I would describe as a right of center Independent, voted for Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020. The one candidate in his life who he really wanted to vote for for POTUS was John McCain in 2008. He and my Dad were both in the Navy. So his whole thing in 2020 was that Trump was a "megalomaniac." But I asked him if he had only voted on the economy in 2020, who would he have voted for. He answered "Trump," in a heartbeat. I asked him why. He said, "My retirement account went up a lot." So he is an example of what I'm hoping is a majority of Americans who are not Biden fans, but just see Trump as a threat to values they actually do treasure. The worse the economy is in exactly November 2024, the harder it is for Biden to ask people to overlook things like inflation. I hope Georgia is a big deal. And I hope it pops in 2024, not now. Right when people like my brother are focused on whether they can hold their nose and vote for Trump. The unavoidable problem with Jack Smith is it is easy to say that he's tied to DOJ. And so that's Biden. And so it's just another political witch hunt. Granted, Fani Willis is a Black Democrat like Alvin Bragg. So she'll be attacked for that. But most of the content of the case in Georgia is about Trump going after Republicans to lie and cheat and steal. Raffensperger and his whole family were getting death threats. There's not a lot of ambiguity in the phrase "find 11,780 votes." And whatever anyone thinks about hush money to hookers, or even sexual abuse and defamation, stealing an election is a big deal.1 point

Biden/Harris 2024????
floridarob reacted to Suckrates for a topic
Lets look at candidate motivation. I truly believe Biden wants to serve to HELP our country and its citizens in need. On the other hand, Trumps motivation is political cover against criminal prosecution. Is there really a conscious choice here between these 2 candidates ? One wants to serve, the other wants to stay out of jail.... If you take age out of the equation for most SANE folk, the choice would be a no-brainer. Would I like to see a new age of candidates ? YES, but it is what it is and we should make the choice that makes most sense for our ideology and the well being of our country and Democracy.1 point -
Although in the back of my brain, I tend to agree with you on this, but for me, I dont look at it as electing "people" anymore, as all choices presented are pretty weak. I look at these new elections as electing Democracy over Autocracy, and that choice for me is clear, regardless of how the cards play out. Consciously voting for Trump, OR not voting at all is basically giving your vote to Trump, and that will NEVER happen for me. I still believe Kamala would make a better President than Trump, Watching his E Jean Carroll deposition gave me a NEW level of disgust for him.1 point

I stayed at the Tarntawan for a week last month before changing to the Raya. (after reading Vinapu's recommendation) I didn't think it had been in any way refurbished - it seemed a little tired, that's all. I like the way they hold the visitors' ID cards. Also, the staff is very friendly and they still remembered me! The Raya was so much nicer. Everything there is new and the room is big. If you meet your guy downstairs you can go straight up to your room without having to go past the reception. As I've known the guy I was with every night for a number of years, I didn't need him to register with reception, but if I were offing a new guy I would want him to be registered.1 point -

I have been in São Paulo all week and made it to Lagoa about 5 times including tonight. I had great times on other nights and really experienced some huge endowments and enjoyable times. It is a fun atmosphere and a beginner is likely to feel comfortable after 10 minutes or so. The only hassle (I think it has been addressed in this forum) is that it is hard to say no to guys you may have connected with on previous nights. They can be very persistent. For the most part, I wanted to meet new guys. Tonight a very different experience happened. It was very busy and there were huge cocks being presented to me everywhere. I mention this fact as it is what usually turns me on. But, I just couldn’t take my eyes off this incredibly beautiful guy. I kept trying to make eye contact but he didn’t seem to notice. He really did seem much shyer and less forward than other guys. Here is my opinion on Lagoa…there are guys with huge cocks, guys with muscular bodies and cute twinks. But, very few are breathtakingly beautiful. This guy was truly one of the most gorgeous men I have seen. Flawless body, 6’3”, with this flowing curly hair. He looks exactly like a young Justin Trudeau. I didn’t completely catch his name but he goes by “The Greek” in the sauna because of his features. Anyhow, we had perfectly nice sex (even with a rather average-sized cock for Lagoa) but it was really just an incredible experience to be held and kissed (I mean kissed very very well) and that alone was the highlight of my week. I think he stands out from the crowd, especially if you have tastes like mine. Anyhow, I probably sound like a gushing school girl. That is strange for me as I am usually more “transactional” about these things. But, I highly recommend if you visit Lagoa.1 point

This part should be thumbtacked to the top of this forum, because WAY too many posters here want to believe that (1) this rule does not exist, or (2) they are somehow the exception to that rule. “Twinning” is, by far, the most common denominator in dating, sexual and romantic attraction is same-sex situations and relationships. This is worldwide. In the limited pay-for-play situations and environments, money / power / influence is the great equalizer — meaning, if you don’t look the part of someone that you’re attracted to would more than likely be paired with, then your money overcomes that major hurdle.1 point -
I didn't realize about tipping towel guys — I had read online that tipping isn't really a thing in Brazil. I did actually have the towel guy at 202 ask for a tip, and I did tip him R$6 because that's all I had in my pocket that was smaller than R$50. First of all great report! Love it I am the exact same way! If a GP comes to me, I greet them politely but once they start getting touchy which happens with me in the next minute after greeting, I always say to them 'I am just looking for now'. Now some still will continue to talk but I make sure I give the impression that I am not going to go with them. So that they don't get upset with any epecxtation. I know lol it's kinda weird situation but I want to be respectful of my time and theirs. But I have had some amazing conversations with GPs after doing a session with them. I guess thats their way of taking a break after the session. Some endup sharing a little too much of personal life but I listen respectfully.1 point

Another observation was how interesting it was to watch all these (ostensibly) straight guys hanging out, watching a soccer match, and just fluffing their dicks. One thing that is hard for me at places with boys and strip clubs is that often the boys will sit and talk to guys for a long time. In Brazil, the GPs would sit with a guy, they’d make out, the customer would play with the GP’s dick, and then they wouldn’t get a programa. I always feel awkward making small talk and like I’m wasting the GP’s time if I’m not 100% sure I’m going to get a programa so I end up kind of trying to be nice but shooing them away quickly.1 point

Forgot to mention, one of the guys I had a programa with at Lagoa and then saw again at 117, when I was leaving 117 he was walking ahead of me. He was very friendly but I'm not much for small talk, so I tried to get around him without him noticing. But he did see me and ran to catch up, and asked if I was taking the Metro to Copacabana. I was, so we walked there together. A train was arriving, and I quickly scanned my apple watch to try to catch it. He jumped the turnstile, and as we were walking towards the stairs, a police officer started yelling at him and walking towards us. He stopped to go talk to the cop, and I kept going down the stairs. When he did make it down to the platform, he waited for the train a few cars down and didn't try to come back and talk to me, I guess he was embarassed.1 point

I couldn't quite figure out where to put this... But I've been out in Kanchanaburi for the last few days. Yesterday we visited Huay Mae Kamin waterfall. It's about 45km past Erawan Falls which are currently closed due to storm damage a couple of weeks ago. It is spectacular and magical. It's quite reminiscent of Kuang Si in Luang Prabang with several levels and beautiful green waters. Also quite easy to get to with parking right near the most beautiful parts of the falls. But take the walk to tier 6 and you're rewarded by an enormous abundance of butterflies. I've never seen anything like it.
