my first bar I visited was Up To You on Rama, likely where Take-a-Nap hotel is now. Mamasan, seeing I'm shy chose boy for me and we marched to short time rooms under Suriwong hotel in that dark passage leading to Moonlight. I still hear squeak of boy happy with his tip as those days I did not know difference between short and long time and tipped him for long time after our 1.5 hr or so stamp survey session8 points

Dear Gaybutton, I did not suggest that "a Thai boyfriend, or anyone else for that matter, should have access to your money, gold accessories, or any other valuable temptations." You said that. What I did say was that if we lead a life in fear of developing trusting relationships we risk leading a very lonely one. Not every facet of friendship involves money or gold. I truly hope that you have some trusting relationships--ones that don't involve "valuable temptations". If we believe that others desire our friendship only because they covet our possessions, we erect emotional barriers that get ever higher as we age. I acknowledge that some some foreigners have fallen victim to scams like the individual described in the OP. But I also believe that they represent a small minority of those who come to Thailand and manage to enjoy what it offers., including healthy and rewarding relationships.6 points

Of course, some falang visitors are easily seduced by their first encounters with beautiful Thai guys; I certainly was. And I've no doubt that some, overwhelmed and desperate for a partner, speak too soon of "love." Nevertheless, I'd suggest that most of us who are now happily in such relationships don't come into this category. It's probable that more, like me, were old hands at the game before meeting the right guy. And that the Thais, similarly, were not straight off an Isaan farm but had some experience of that "game." Genuine relationships are less likely to develop after a night or two of unbridled passion than over a period of time. I can understand why some are cynical. There are tourists who have been taken for a ride and have ended -up disappointed. Perhaps many. Equally, there are Thais whose falang boyfriends have been only too happy to find a younger guy when it suits them, destroying their hopes for a secure future . But I stand by my original post....and I'm echoing another forum member when I say this; a genuine relationship, despite difference in age, culture , religion and race can endure and flourish over decades, and prove to be (and here I quote) one of the best things that have happened in that person's life.5 points -

Question : How many twinks does it take to put in a light bulb? Answer: Only one...but it takes the entire Emergency room to get it out.3 points -
If you follow the link Fedssocr posted earlier in this thread I think you find a nice balance between types of guys on stage at New Screw Boy. Based on my last trip six months ago, I didn't have a problem finding twinks in any of the Bangkok bars. And if I didn't see them on stage, they could almost always be found among the staff. Sometimes they may even find you first.3 points

When you go a sauna in CO you are there to have (free) sex with other guests, i.e. your odds will be much better if you are young, fit, handsome or well endowed. The entrance fee is quite low (15-25 mil pesos?) so you could just go there to hang out, have a beer and enjoying the ambience/setting without the expectation of having sex (admittedly, I can't recall having non-paid sex in Colombian sauna, but I'm also quite reserved and picky + not the type of guy I described above). If you are there to get a hj, bj, fingered (and even more) and close your eyes/doesn't care about the type of guy servicing you, you will have good time. As stated above there will often be 1 or 2 masseurs available on site for massage and fun; you can spot these guys often wearing T-shirts and doing cleaning/maintenance work in the sauna or hanging around the reception when no customers for massage. Often they will approach you soliciting their services if they see that you are interested in them. Or just ask at the reception about the guys available/on call for massage. In my experience a massage and sex is 120-150 mil pesos (1 hour or slightly less). A "massage only" session is much cheaper, 50-60 mil pesos. It may be slightly more expensive in Bgta, Medellin and Cartagena.3 points

From The Nation The opposition Pheu Thai Party has a 22-point lead over its nearest rival in a recent nationwide survey of more than 160,000 eligible voters by Suan Dusit Poll. Pheu Thai had the support of 41.37% of the 162,454 respondents surveyed from April 10 to 20, according to the results of the poll released on Saturday. Fellow opposition party Move Forward followed with the support of 19.32% of respondents. All other political parties failed to attain double-digit support. The election will be held on May 14. The Bhumjaithai Party, a member of the governing coalition, was third, with the support of 9.55% of respondents. The United Thai Nation Party of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha fared even worse, with only 8.48% of respondents selecting it as their preferred party. Support for the ruling Palang Pracharath Party was 7.49. The Democrat Party ranked sixth, with 7.30% of respondents expressing support for Thailand's oldest political party. Only 2.41% of respondents favoured the Thai Sang Thai Party, while the opposition Seri Ruam Thai )Thai Liberal Party) fared worse with 1.74% of respondents expressing support for the party. The Chart Thai Pattana was the only other party to surpass the 1% support level, with 1.25% of respondents selecting it as their preferred party.3 points

Arrived in São Paulo today. SolaceSoul’s comment about those in a couple being carbon copies is most definitely true in São Paulo in the Consolacao/Rua Augusta area. Everyone seemed to be wearing the same black shirt and black short combo. I just returned from dinner after a visit to Lagoa. As a first-timer, I was very impressed with the facilities and GP’s. I know some here have compared the new location unfavorably to the old. But, the facilities seemed much cleaner (and neighborhood safer) than 117 or 202 in Rio. I thought the layout was similar to Thermas in Barcelona. I arrived at 4:30 and worried I may be too early but the place seemed really busy. I had two programas. Compared to the Rio saunas, I thought GP’s didn’t “bother” clients as much. You really had to make eye contact before someone approached you which was a good thing I think. Also, money was not mentioned at all before my programas. It seemed almost I could give based on the experience. I gave the first guy (a huge-dicked GP from Recife) R$220 and he seemed thrilled. I gave the second guy (not quite my type to be honest but he was introduced to me by the first) R$200 and he seemed disappointed (likely I imagine because he talked with the first one). Both gozar. Lots of huge cocks on display throughout the different floors. Loved the shower set-up. There was one guy who I thought was absolutely stunning. Taller (6’4”), muscular, trimmed beard (although the beard part covers 75% of the guys), and just beautiful. He had on soccer shorts instead of a towel (fetish for me). I would have loved going with him. But, he sat in the bar area the entire time talking to another GP. I thought that was a bit strange and I really didn’t feel I could interrupt his conversation and say (in broken Portuguese) that “I think you are stunning.” Maybe he was waiting on a specific client or playing some sort of “long game”. I admit I left early as I had to get to dinner. Ate at the Familia Mancini Restaurant on a charming little street with several choices about a 20-minute walk from Lagoa. Definitely would recommend the specific restaurant and the little street for dining. Good food and lovely Euro atmosphere.3 points -

It all depends so much on the circumstances and the individuals. If you only believe in renting then you are unlikely to ever have a partner in life, and maybe you never wanted one. On the other hand you are more likely to keep your bank balance to spend on yourself. However I don't think it is fair to categorise Thais as somehow inherently dishonest in relationships. I can offhand think of at least twelve Thai/Farang couples who have been together for at least ten years, some based in Thailand and some in Europe. I actually can't think of a serious thai farang couple who broke up. As far as I have observed in these couples I think that Thai partners are especially thoughtful, tolerant and caring. The vast majority of the couples originally met in Thailand, so if the farangs had been applying the "if you want love in Thailand rent it" guideline they would not now be enjoying many years of happy partnered lives. In fact the saddest farang friend that I have is wealthy and lonely having spent most of his time in Thailand treating his sex partners as paid employees, but is now looking enviously at those friends with loving Thai partners. Different strokes for different folks.2 points -
Yes I agree most of the relationships between falang and Thai collapse eventually and it doesn't matter if it's because the Thai boyfriend was a gold digger or because the falang found new younger model to replace his current Thai boyfriend, maybe there are some 'happy ending' cases but they really the minority and not the majority.2 points

"Trust, but verify" - Ronald Reagan What, in your opinion, constitutes a trusting relationship? Just how far and to what extent are you willing to let that trust go? I too believe in developing a trusting relationship, but I'm not going to be naive about it. I've seen too many times when farang became totally comfortable with their relationship, completely trusted the boyfriend, and was certain nothing could ever go wrong. Then it went wrong. Lives were ruined. So, if you truly believe it is a good idea to trust the boyfriend to the point where he has access to your money and valuables, fine with me. After all, in a million years he would never dream of doing anything like that. Famous last words: "Not this boy. He's different." Does anyone remember Richard Burk, who was the owner of the Amor restaurant in Boyztown? I always loved his advice. I'll let you folks decide for yourselves whether I abide by it. But I think many of you at least will understand just why he advised it - and he meant it: "If you want love in Thailand, rent it."2 points

Decided to pay a visit to what is now called "New Screw Boys" last night around 9.00pm Friday, 28 April. See photo I took on arrival below. The place is located at the far end of Patpong. Ground floor level in effect downstairs from Fresh Boys. Inside the premises nicely cleaned up, yet the same size as previously. For those not familiar with it, they have retained the same seating arrangements, a bit awkward and cramped nonetheless in keeping with its' history, and this part of Bangkok. Staff greeted me nicely, one of which goes back for me a few decades. Can see more photos of the place on Facebook just type in "New Screw Boys". Drinks at about 350 per one. As I arrived early I was the only customer. And seems the place is in need of more custom. Six dancers on the stage, masculine types no shirt but each wearing sexy jeans. Was told more numbers arriving later. In fact, when I was there a real cutie arrived, but I was told he was top only though on the stage a few good lookers (through my eyes) who I was informed could be compatible. Apparently, there is a cabaret show nightly. (After I went to Dream boy. which seems more popular than ever especially with Asians; now a better selection and drink prices reduced). Anyway: I enjoyed my time in New Screw Boys. Definitely worth a visit!2 points -

Police Raid Nightclub Transnational Crime and Overstayers, Find Nothing
khaolakguy reacted to reader for a topic
From Pattaya News By Goongnang Suksawat Police inspected an entertainment venue in Pattaya in a crackdown on people involved in transnational crime and people who have overstayed their legal visa to stay in Thailand. On Friday night (April 28th) a team of officers from Chonburi Provincial Police, the Pattaya City Police, and immigration officers inspected Ying Club on Pattaya Third Road in Central Pattaya. More than 120 Thai and foreign tourists were in the nightclub. Police checked ID cards and passports. Urine drug tests were conducted on a total of nine Chinese (8 men, 1 woman), a Korean, 4 Indonesians (2 men, 2 women), 32 Thais, and 64 staff (41 men, 23 women). None of them tested positive for drugs and no illegal items were found. Police also checked many cars in the parking lot for possible weapons or drugs but found neither. This is the third nightclub raid this week in Pattaya with a similar gameplan of drug testing all patrons and staff and checking all passports. Previously, Pattaya police raided popular Asian club Hollywood in North Pattaya as seen here. They also raided the Panda Club, popular with Chinese tourists, on Walking Street as seen here.1 point -

Parque de Bolivar in centro Medellin/the park in front of the cathedral. Those are the guys you should be looking for! (drug addicts, skaters, unemployed, homeless etc hanging around Parque de Bolivar in the afternoons). The guys there are not doing obvious hustling and it doesn't seem to be their purpose of going to the parque but they seem to be aware of why some mature gentlemen go to the parque. Some of the guys will see you as an opportunity to earn some quick and much needed cash. Some are more outgoing and experienced than others; most likely it is the former that (sometimes) will approach you and strike up a conversation if you seem interested. Admittedly, patience and some luck will be needed as well, i.e. being at the right spot at the right time. You shouldn't go to the parque with the expectation of handsome and tidy gym fit or muscle guys lined up, smiling and soliciting their services; it is more subdued and as stated before the guys will be on the rough side (I mean personal hygiene, clothes etc) i.e. far from what you find in Gigolo Erotic House/Garage gogo bar, Mileroticos website or Brazilian saunas, so it is def. not for all/many of the readers in here.1 point

From The Thaiger For all the shopaholics out there, travelling between three different shopping malls in Thailand is about to get easier. In a joint effort by Central Pattana and Klook, a new bus route is being launched to operate between three major malls in Pattaya and Bangkok: Central World, Central Pattaya, and Central Village, with fares of only 190 baht. Yesterday, Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Vice President of the Marketing Division of Central Pattana Plc (CPN), unveiled the new bus route designed to accommodate the jump in the number of foreign tourists in Thailand. Tourists can easily purchase tickets online and reserve them for their travel day, provided they confirm their booking at least two hours before departure. Additionally, they can enjoy extra privileges at participating malls, such as a welcome package worth 3,000 baht if they become a member of The1 Tourist card. They can also receive a premium gift bag from Good Goods and two hours of free WiFi, The Pattaya News reported. The proposed bus route will connect Central World, Central Pattaya, and Central Village, with one round fare per person at 190 baht. For route and schedule information, which may be subject to change, tourists can visit the information desks at participating Central Malls.1 point

I agree with you. But when many thousands of travellers are arriving in the space of, say, 30 minutes at a peak time, and maybe 4 or 5 passengers are trying to use a cc that is not accepted and may not have another card and will object to having to get out of line and re-queue for a cash dispenser, you have a recipe for a lot of bad feeling bordering on anger. But then I am more of a glass half empty kind of person and our dear @vinapu is very much glass half full. But do remember that even in its last year prior to the opening of BKK, DMK had just 16 million passengers of whom 13.5 million were on domestic flights. By 2019 Suvarnabhumi was handling 53.5 million passengers. Quite a difference!1 point -

This part should be thumbtacked to the top of this forum, because WAY too many posters here want to believe that (1) this rule does not exist, or (2) they are somehow the exception to that rule. “Twinning” is, by far, the most common denominator in dating, sexual and romantic attraction is same-sex situations and relationships. This is worldwide. In the limited pay-for-play situations and environments, money / power / influence is the great equalizer — meaning, if you don’t look the part of someone that you’re attracted to would more than likely be paired with, then your money overcomes that major hurdle.1 point -

Day 6-7 Salvador, Bahia The shift in climate with a mere 2 hour flight surprises me. The humidity and heat surround me as I climb into my uber, it is a ~35 minute ride to my airbnb in the Bohemian neighborhood of Rio Vermelho. The sun has already set and a drizzle has started. I pray for good weather in the coming days. More than any other city, Salvador is the city I wanted to explore and take in. The sunset sets earlier near the equator, therefore by 5:30 PM the sky is dark and the streets are poorly lit. In a series of unfortunate technical issues, the airbnb I booked has terrible internet and the apartment is a dead zone for my cell service. I am also very very hungry. Before coming to Salvador, I was told that Salvador ranked 19th in highest homicide rate in cities around the world. A dilemma emerged, wait for daylight or go looking for food. The stomach won and I started looking for restaurants around my airbnb. In contrast to SP, the streets of Salvador are mostly empty by 6 PM and there are very few businesses on each street. The restaurants that are open, they lock their front doors but will open if you get their attention. After a pizza stick and a hot shower, I tuck in for the night. Most folks here are not interested in a travel vlog, I will skip to my sauna report next update. I do however, want to recommend the Balé Folclórico da Bahia if they visit Salvador, the show starts at 7PM and is well worth the 90r admission. The Bahians are very welcoming people, their smiles are beautiful and inviting, and they are willing to share their feelings and goals in life. In summary, Salvador is a rough gemstone, with the right approach and some curiosity, the city shines beautifully.1 point -

Opposition Leader Says Unity Needed to Beat Military
splinter1949 reacted to reader for a topic
From Reuters Pita Limjaroenrat, Move Forward Party's leader and prime ministerial candidate, poses for a picture during an upcoming election campaign event in Bangkok, Thailand, April 22, 2023. REUTERS/Chalinee Thirasupa By Juarawee Kittisilpa and Devjyot Ghoshal BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's opposition bloc should stick together to dislodge the military from politics and form a government after an election in May, the leader of a popular opposition party told Reuters on the sidelines of a packed campaign rally on Saturday. Thailand's election, on May 14, is shaping up as a contest between pro-military conservatives and the populist opposition led by Pheu Thai Party and its ally the Move Forward Party. Two governments Pheu Thai supported were overthrown by military coups, in 2006 and 2014. "It's very clear that the current opposition is the right answer for the challenges being faced by Thailand, not the military-backed party that staged the coup," Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat, 42, told Reuters backstage at the rally. Pita, whose progressive party is popular with young voters, sees the alliance with Pheu Thai as vital to beat Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha after more than eight years in office. Former army chief Prayuth first seized power in a 2014 coup and stayed prime minister after the last election in 2019. He is contesting the upcoming election but recent opinion polls put him behind both Pheu Thai and Move Forward, who maintained first and second places. Move Forward has a strong base among urban voters, including those who joined a youth-led protest movement that emerged in 2020 to challenged Prayuth. Pita said that support bases complimented compliment Pheu Thai, backed by the working class and farmers in the rural north and northeast. Pita said the alliance between pro-democracy parties was needed to overcome the outsized influence of the 250-seat upper house Senate, appointed by the military government before the last election, which will vote to pick the next prime minister along with the 500-seat elected lower house after the May 14 election.1 point -
