  1. The prices I got were between 150r to 200r, that is not including gozar. I do not know the etiquettes about asking for pricing without the intention of getting a room, especially when I got quoted 150r. Reflecting back, I may have offended some boys. I wanted a read on the market before making my decision. Then the universe sent me a guardian angel… I decided to find a good spot at the bar area to watch the traffic. The bar was pretty full. I decided to ask a gentleman if I could sit with him. This turns out to be the best decision I made in a long time. The conversation just flowed, followed by laughter, with bits of wisdom sauna weaved between the lines. I was having a good time, a fucking great time! After asking for my preferences and hearing about my dry spell, my new friend decided to help me to pick a gp for my christening…. O is a very charismatic GP, while still in his street clothes, he greets everyone in the bar area. He is muscular (I like), very lean and solid (I like), he speaks decent English (I like), has body hair (I love), and a big dick (I’m scared). The truth is that I can’t (or don’t know how) to enjoy big dicks and prefer the average size. But we are in Brazil, the box next to the big dick is already checked for you. So if I can get ⅘, I am going to proceed. We discussed the price of 200r for everything including gozar. O offered to start with a massage (not very good), then a body2body rub, then using his hips and small movement, he was able to get inside me without me being uncomfortable. Fucking amazing ability. One thing about hiring a gp with decent English is dirty talk and roleplay. I am not going to repeat what was said without my face burning up but it was filthy, slutty, and fun. He came twice for me and I didn’t cum. Part of the sauna education is learning to stand your ground. After the showers comes the payment part. In my head, I have already decided to tip O 50r for a total of 250r. Before I opened my mouth and my wallet, O said he wanted 400r, 200r for the massage and everything else was extra. Long story short, he went down from 400r to 300r to accepting 250r. While the situation may be awkward, I am not bothered by it because O has his reasons and I am not going to fault him for trying. Afterall, I have a neon sign on top of my head.

  2. Hey, since this is my first trip to Brazil I thought I'd give a report of what my experience has been like as a newcomer. Started off with a week in São Paulo. Was going to stay at a lovely Airbnb in Consolação but when I got there the owner didn't respond to me when I tried to check in. Ended up having to get Airbnb to refund me and getting a crappy little room at the Ibis Budget Frei Caneca (which was more expensive than the Airbnb), since I knew I wanted to be close to Lagoa. So I went to Lagoa several days. As a first-timer, I was impressed with the number and quality of the guys there. I also felt like it was relatively clean, compared to for example Sauna Thermas in Barcelona. I would post up in the bar reading a book and drinking a beer, enjoyed that they had the glass shower next to the bar. The men there were friendly but not too pushy, which I appreciated. I ended up having 3 programas total at Lagoa. I'm a bottom who prefers big guys with big dicks, and I prefer BB but I didn't bother asking as I assumed most of these guys would not be open to it. All three guys quoted 300 reais, and I didn't negotiate. (I guess that is the going rate in SP, but when I was in Rio they all charged 200.) Funnily enough, the guy I was most attracted to was the bar manager (hot as fuck). It was convenient staying nearby as I could just pop over for an hour or two to see what the crowd was like and have a beer before going out somewhere else. While in SP I also hit up a couple other places. I went to Bar Queen and Hot House, both of which had fun strip shows. I have now learned that in Brazil basically every strip show includes this very bizarre (to me) specific thing where the guys do their striptease, then leave the stage for a drag number or another stripper, and then they come back out with a hardon in underwear, and they walk around the room and have one customer take their underwear off, then they go to the next customer and hand them their underwear to put it back on. They go around the whole room doing that. I thought it was a funny thing the first time I saw it at Bar Queen, but literally every strip show I went to had that. I also found that the same strippers were showing up over and over. I saw the same ones at Bar Queen, Hot House, and Lagoa. Makes sense, if you're doing this as your main gig you're going to do multiple shows a night/week. Since I've seen so many of my favorite Brazilian pornstars show up at Hot House on their social media, I was hoping to get to see some of them. Unfortunately none of them made any appearances while I was there. I also had a session with Rico Marlon at his apartment. He was incredibly hot in person and just the sweetest guy. I saw him out on the street twice in Consolação afterwards and both times he stopped me to say hello. I also went to the SP Eagle twice, where I met and had some fun with an extremely attractive daddy, and to Chili Pepper Hotel, which is one of the nicest bathhouses I've ever been to. Unfortunately I think I had my timing wrong. I went on a thursday evening (bear night) and got there around 8. There weren't a ton of people there. Left around midnight, and I think that might have been when more people were starting to show up. I worked remotely several days, and then explored the city. I did some exploring downtown, and found the Galeria do Rock (a full shopping mall of all streetwear, hip hop, and rock music stores) interesting, but in general this (around Praça República and Sé) is where I felt the least safe while I was in SP. I probably will avoid next time I'm in town. The areas I really did enjoy were along Avenida Paulista, where there are (mostly free) museums on basically every block, and on the weekend they shut the avenue down to cars so it becomes a pedestrian and bikeway, and Pinheiros, which has so many different little shops and restaurants to stumble on. Also worth walking around Parque Ibirapuera, and across the bridge to the Contemporary Art Museum. I did go to Restaurant Spot because of the recommendations on this board, and it was indeed delicious. I mainly used public transit, because I love public transit, and found it safe and pretty easy to navigate. The metro is a bit weird in that if you're not a resident, you can't get a card, so you have to go to the ticket booth and buy individual tickets, which are basically little receipts with QR codes on them. Overall, outside of the República and Sé areas, I felt pretty safe the whole time I was there. It probably helps that I'm a larger guy, and not to be classist, but in general whenever there were a lot of middle-class people around going about their lives, that to me signified that they were choosing to be there and they felt safe. I flew from SP to Rio on Saturday. I took the light rail and metro to my hotel in Copacabana, and my first impression of the city was that it was bizarrely dead. Both on Saturday and Sunday when I was in the downtown area, it felt like I was in a postapocalyptic movie where there was just no one around, and I did feel a bit vulnerable. But once I got to Copacabana it was clear where everyone had gone. I stayed at the Mercure Boutique Rio Copacabana, which was both inexpensive and lovely. Located right on the beach. I didn't try to have guests over to either of my hotels, but I don't think it would have been a problem at either of them. Just walk right on by the front desk to the elevators and scan my card to go up. I went to 117 multiple nights. Usually took the metro there as it's very conveniently located a few minutes' walk from the Gloria station, and in an area that is bustling with locals and feels very safe. The first thing that struck me is that it did feel noticeably dingier than Lagoa. And the second thing that struck me is that several guys whom I'd seen at Lagoa all came up and said hi. I guess a lot of the guys go back and forth between the two. When I first got there (around 5 on a Saturday) I thought it was empty other than the guys hanging out in the front hallway. I had a drink at the inside bar, and then noticed the sign for the smoking bar. Went out there and there were like 25 garotos hanging out out there. I had no idea. 117 definitely had a higher proportion of my type of guys than Lagoa did. In total I had 4 programas there, 2 of which were with the same guy. A tall, bearded Black man with big muscles and tattoos. We had to wait a bit for a room, and he made out with me while we did. One of the best kissers I've ever met. Super great in bed — I did find his dick a little odd, it was big, hard and felt great, but it also felt a little lopsided, like a silicone injection gone wrong maybe? I did go on their big night (Tuesday) and it was indeed packed, but not noticeably more so than Saturday. The staff were very helpful and friendly — at one point my key fell off my strap and got lost, and they took care of it, helped me move my stuff to another locker. My biggest annoyance at 117 was how loud the music was during the drag shows and strip shows. My apple watch immediately notified me it was too loud, and I had to plug my ears, otherwise it was painful. As I sit here typing this the next day I have tinnitus. I also went to Point 202 for their big Monday night. Point is very conveniently located in Copacabana, but compared to Lagoa and 117 it is a shithole. It felt so much dirtier and I felt gross the whole time I was there. Even on their "busy" night it was really dead. There was, however, an incredibly hot, muscular latino guy with a baby face wearing a "massagista" shirt. I asked him for a massage, and for 150 reais I got a long, very legitimate feeling massage, with some sensual elements. He performed it in his underwear, and that combined with the massagista shirt made me think he was not a garoto, but after he finished and I took a look at him I was like "you are incredibly sexy," and his response was "oh do you want to have sex?" I was not expecting that and it threw me off and I said no thanks, but looking back on it he was by far the hottest guy from the whole trip and I should have said yes. I'd planned to go to a dance/sex party called Hole on my last night, but I developed a bit of a cough and decided to stay in. (I brought my own covid tests and have tested negative so far, plus I had covid 2 months ago so it's probably not that.) So I didn't really get a feel for the gay scene in Rio outside of 117 and 202, sadly. The rest of my Rio time included trips back downtown during the week, at which point it was waaaaaaaay busier, to work and go to the Museo do Amanhã, which is very interesting architecturally if not so interesting exhibit-wise. I also checked out the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is very interesting, as well as taking the Bonde de Santa Teresa, which is a nice ride, but not much to do up there. Cristo Redentor was exhausting and IMO not worth the trip. I bought "skip the line" tickets via Viator, and took the Corcovado train up. That was interesting, and then you get to the top and there are SO MANY PEOPLE. The views are great, I'll give it that. But getting back down was a shitshow. The line for the train (which you could not skip on the way back down) went halfway up the stairs to the statue. I'd estimate I waited about an hour to get on a train back down, and by the time I did I had to go back to the hotel and take a nap. I also checked out the Museum of Modern Art (not worth it in my opinion), and walked around Leblon in Ipanema, which is a much nicer area than Copacabana, with lots of shops and restaurants, and where I'd consider staying next time. I'm not much of a beach person, so I just took a lot of walks up and down the sidewalk next to the beaches, stopping for drinks and food at the many beachside bars and restaurants, and peoplewatching. I never actually touched the sand. I had thought about renting a car to go to Abricó Beach, which is a nude beach outside of Rio, but driving in a foreign country seemed unnecessarily stressful so I decided against it. In terms of food, my hotel had a great restaurant in it, Q Ceviche, and I went to O Grego twice because it's open late (12 AM) and was delicious. I did go to Fogo de Chão and the meat was my least favorite part. It just wasn't very flavorful. I much preferred the salad bar, which actually had a tray of pork belly with crackling, which was the best meat by far. Both of my hotels had The Coffee stands nearby, which is very convenient because ordering is done via an iPad which makes it much easier than speaking to a cashier. I found myself going to The Coffee over any other coffee place around the city because of this. One thing that did make an impression on me is how gay Brazil is. I've seen so many gay couples holding hands walking down the street, even outside of gay areas. The first two times I turned on the TV I saw a drag queen and a gay love scene. There are antidiscrimination notices all over, and on the metro there's an ad for a show called Tunnel of Love that has straight and gay couples making out. I didn't realize how openly gay friendly Brazil is, especially with all the terrible things I'd heard from Bolsonaro. And overall, everything here is just so inexpensive. A nice dinner rarely cost me more than $40. I'd spend 3-4 hours drinking at Lagoa or 117 for $30. I had 9 sessions with men, including a pornstar, for the same price as 2 would have been in the US. Ubers cost between $5 and $10, even with surge pricing. Overall, I've had a great trip and I'm excited to come back. Since it's only an hour ahead of east coast time, it's pretty easy for me to work remotely from here, so I think I may plan to come back for a month or so at some point. Let me know if you have any questions!

  3. Day 1-3 Sao Paulo As I disembarked my plane in São Paulo, I took in the fresh air, never realizing that a single breath can fill my lungs with so much oxygen. This city is alive and the greenery scattered across the city are lungs, transporting vitality into every weary traveler into Brazil. My plane arrived at 6 AM. Instead of begging for an early check in at the hotel front desk, I used the Dayuse app and spent $40 on a hotel room at the city center from 9 AM - 6 PM. It was the perfect location because I had many tasks to run today. First matter of the day is to get a sim card. I took an uber to the Frei Caneca Shopping Center, booked via the hotel internet. Once there, if I don’t get a sim card, then I have no way of booking an uber to the hotel! My first stop was Loja Vivo, where two employees claim that their system is down for today but maybe will be up tomorrow. My Portuguese sucks so much that I can’t call them on their bullshit. As the saying goes “immigrants, we get the job done.” I went with plan B, the Claro store. 4 employees were working but none would even acknowledge me. When I finally got their attention, the lady asked if I had a CBF? Surprise Motherfucker!!! I made the effort to get a CBF before coming to Brazil. When I presented her with a print out copy of my CBF card, the lady said it is not good. I don’t understand her reason, again my Portuguese sucks. My heart dropped. I must have looked very sad. One employee took pity on me, she told me to go to the American store on the 3rd floor and buy a sim card and then she could set me up using only my passport. 10r for the sim card and 30r for 12 gig data, a Brazilian phone number, and ability to text. Woot woot, achievement unlocked! Gold Chest appears! To celebrate, 2 starbucks donuts to the lady and none to the other witches. Day 1-3 is filled with exploration, food, and working up the courage to go to Lagoa. I will jump ahead to what y’all want to read in the next update.

  4. Day 5 Lagoa cont Knowing that I only have one token to play per night, I went to Lagoa on Sunday. The crowd was smaller compared to Saturday but it was Karaoke night! I met up with my friend from the previous night and started drinking. I saw many familiar faces from the previous night but they did not initiate as they did the first night. Most boys just nodded and smiled as I walked by them. The neon sign is gone! C was the first guy I considered, he is in his late 20s, wearing black basketball shorts and a matching baseball cap. My friend said that he has not seen C in Lagoa before tonight. One thing I noticed was his cauliflower ears, which indicates to me that he practiced or still does Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or mma (I love). C wanted 300r and 500r with gozar, then went down to 350r. With a “nao obrigado” C and I parted ways. My friend arranged a programa for himself and I decided to look for a guy that I met yesterday. M quoted me 150r last night, I told him I wanted to look around first. Tonight, I found him at the gym area about to bench press some incredible weights. He saw me and smiled but I let him finish his set. He got up after his set and shook my hands. I asked him to give me his price for everything. He said a number but I could not understand, he typed on my phone 120r. So he remembers me from last night…I asked him if it include kissing and penetration, he promises deep kissing with tongue and 60 minutes of fucking. I asked for his price including gozar, with a bit of hesitation, he put in 200r. “Vamos!” My flight is boarding, I will update soon...

    Tucker Carlson is gone

From CNBC Tucker Carlson leaves Fox News in wake of Dominion defamation settlement Right wing primetime host Tucker Carlson is leaving Fox News immediately, the cable network announced Monday. The announcement came days after Fox News’ parent company settled Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million. “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the company said in a statement on Monday. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.” There will be no sendoff for Carlson, as his last program aired on Friday. Carlson had signed off on Friday stating he would be back on Monday. The company wouldn’t comment beyond the release, and whether Carlson was being taken off air in response to the Dominion defamation case.

  7. The advantage of Agoda is that you can cancel without losing money. I've never tried this , but it may be that, faced with PeterRS's situation, you could probably do so and rebook at the cheaper price. To be honest, I wouldn't....Agoda's prices are usually good enough for us. However, if there is a hotel at which you are " face"- a regular- a direct booking may well be the better option. I have to admit that I envy those who don't book well in advance, as I always do. I'm a natural pessimist! Perhaps rightly so; our hotel-booked well in advance- was full when we arrived a few weeks ago. Anticipation and then recollection of a trip to Thailand is an important part of my enjoyment, and any insecurities about flights and bookings would disrupt the anticipation.

  8. Day 4 Lagoa If not now, then when? I am not as brave as many people on the forum. However, after I take the first step I usually find my balance afterward. It was a Saturday night, one of the best days to visit Lagoa, when I decided to take my first step. I find the Paulistas take care of their bodies and have very good hygiene. While the sex is transactional, I think the boys deserve the same respect from tourists as locals give them. (Who knows, maybe I am just bullshitting) I decided to shower, scrub, shave, lotion myself, douche, and put on my favorite cologne. Then I am called the uber. When I got into the car, after the “Boa noite”s, the driver asked “voce va sauna?” With a smile, I exclaimed “Sim!” Tonight, I am gonna get what I want, who I want, and when I want. Entering Lagoa for the first time, I must have a neon sign that I can’t see on top of my head that reads “$newbie$” Immediately, I was swept up by a garoto who took it upon himself to show me the place and what to do: locker room to put your valuables in, change into slippers, the bar, the dry/hot saunas, the adult video areas, the gym, the bar, and etc. Afterward, he grabbed me and stuck his tongue inside my mouth and asked me to get a room with him. My Mamas (you guys) raised me to know better, I thank you and gave him a 20r tip and told him I want to explore the area first. He said he wants a 50r, I told him no, then the baby started to pout but took the 20r (I remedied the situation later by buying him a drink , he is a good guy). Somehow, every boy knows that I am a newbie. I was sniffed, kissed, grabbed by arm and ass, asked to touch their piece (contrary to the second night, I was left alone). Going up and down the stairs and exploring many rooms, I was a kid in a candy store and the store had all the flavors of the rainbow.

  9. In many trips around Asia, I have almost always booked in advance, especially if I have made my plans some months in advance. As @vinapu mentions, a site like Agoda will typically have very good rates but it does not take much time to check a variety of booking sites. Recently I only once booked ahead and then discovered that rates had fallen. This was partly a result of opening up after covid and a special offer to boost occupancy. I contacted the hotel, made a bit of a fuss and they reduced the rate I had paid. Over the years I have asked some hotels about their walk in rates. If it's peak season, advance reservation has always been less expensive. With tourism in Thailand still way short of its pre-covid level, many hotels only have some of their floors open. And I read there are still shortages of staff which were laid off and have since found other employment. So I suggest it is best for now to book early.

  10. A new 7-Eleven has opened on Surawong between Soi Tarntawan and the driveway entrance to Tarntawan Hotel. In the process, it gobbled up one of the mixed massage shops. This may turn out to be an even better after-hours cruising spot that Vinapu is known to periodically check out.

  12. It happens all the time. I have seen it often but they usually happens in the steam room, sauna or porn room. So not that public but still with other people around. Pointe 202 sauna/steam room is famous for some GPs to do more (sometime complete session) with clients. Some sauna that has free rooms (Sauna 1097 in BH), I seen a GP full on fucking a client bareback by the door in the smoking area.

  13. First of all great report! Love it I am the exact same way! If a GP comes to me, I greet them politely but once they start getting touchy which happens with me in the next minute after greeting, I always say to them 'I am just looking for now'. Now some still will continue to talk but I make sure I give the impression that I am not going to go with them. So that they don't get upset with any epecxtation. I know lol it's kinda weird situation but I want to be respectful of my time and theirs. But I have had some amazing conversations with GPs after doing a session with them. I guess thats their way of taking a break after the session. Some endup sharing a little too much of personal life but I listen respectfully.

  18. I still want to believe he's Sinatra's son. The resemblance is undeniable. Ronan Farrow attended Frank's funeral with Mia. She admited remaining close with Frank. Of course, it's all their private business. Some try to call Trump's situation as no more than a sex scandal, that too much is being made of his private business. But unlike Trump's escapades with McDougal, Cliffords, and the situation with the doorman, where he manipulated funds illegally to hush a story, Mia Farrow and Frank Sinatras' was a private relationship and is essentially none of our business. And really, Ronan may have summed it up best on Twitter when he responded. "Listen, we're all *possibly* Frank Sinatra's son." Do we need to know any more than that? But IMO we do need to know all about all of Trump's crimes.

  22. Fine. I already told you I thought it was a spoof when I read the first post. Pretty much for the reasons you suggest. Why would Fox News actually want to be fair and balanced? That sounds so ................. you know ................. uninformed, naive, or worse. So why do you think Fox fired Tucker? Inquiring minds want to know. Share your information and wisdom with us, please. As a footnote, I'm still catching up reading stories about the firing, and speculating. I had not heard this one before: Arguably, that's even worse than hating Trump passionately. If Trump is the 2024 Republican nominee, we also have to assume a majority of Republicans - especially those who watch Fox - will just overlook all his lies and alleged criminal behavior. Not to mention his fun, patriotic cop beating. And then in the middle of that his main cheerleader in the run up to the 2024 GOP convention is a guy who is now on record as thinking Trump is "a demonic force, a destroyer" ? Tucker's bullshit and hypocrisy did catch up with him, I think. The funny thing is that when members of a minority that is losing circle their wagons, it is usually to defend themselves. In this case, so far they appear to be setting their wagons on fire. This ain't good news for either Tucker or Trump.

Lol! Whomever would believe the above would be uninformed, naive, or worse. 🫢

  24. So will I. Honestly, when I first read @reader's post, I thought this had to be a spoof. There's just no way. So I think you got your apology, sis. Although this is so much better than an apology. The interesting question is: why Tucker? This CNN story (ironic I chose CNN, I guess) confirms Tucker was their top-rated host. And that Fox Corp's stock tumbled on the news (down 5 % the article says, but it was a 3 % decline by market close. The stock is worth less than when it listed in 2019, so it's not exactly been a barn burner.) Hopefully this does mean, as the CNN story speculates, a "culture change" at Fox. They will still be right-wing. But maybe less inflammatory. What set Carlson apart is how much delight he took in throwing bombs. I do think the hypocrisy of learning that Tucker hates Trump "passionately" and that so much of what he peddled on TV was bullshit for ratings and fame simply created a very bad look. Maybe Rupert felt Tucker cheated on him, too! The other thing curious minds want to know is whether it was just a coincidence that Lemon was thrown overboard on the same day. If there's a specific reason with Lemon, it's his comments on women. And in his case his ratings weren't great. But they also weren't bad, by CNN standards. I didn't see Lemon as someone who intentionally threw bombs. But he was someone who was easy to nail for spending too much time on his own (mostly liberal) opinions, as if they were news. The thing about women being in their prime was a great example of Lemon peddling opinion. Although in that case it stood out for being so illiberal. Hopefully it means both networks will focus more on news and less on propaganda. It may also be a good day for women who report the news. Who maybe are a bit less likely to say the things that got Tucker and Don in trouble. I have to say, though. It hurts to see both men go in their prime! 😉

He was very friendly but I'm not much for small talk, so I tried to get around him without him noticing. But he did see me and ran to catch up, and asked if I was taking the Metro to Copacabana. I was, so we walked there together. A train was arriving, and I quickly scanned my apple watch to try to catch it. He jumped the turnstile, and as we were walking towards the stairs, a police officer started yelling at him and walking towards us. He stopped to go talk to the cop, and I kept going down the stairs. When he did make it down to the platform, he waited for the train a few cars down and didn't try to come back and talk to me, I guess he was embarassed.

    First time in Bangkok

don't overdo it if it's your first time as you may choke on Bangkok's offers. Park yourself in some Silom area hotel and see what's there beginning from early evening stroll through Patpong 2 from Silom toward Suriwong where you find bars with twinks, then turn left and walk toward soi 6 passing by massage places on Suriwong and in soi 6 , whatever or whomever takes your fancy , go there and taste their offerings. After you are done , let us know how you liked it

    $$$ Talks, and Fox Walks

Ultimately the investment fund holding Dominion got the payout they were after (an investment fund's only real goal, fuck the company...) and Fox wouldn't have admitted wrongdoing and/or apologized especially with all the other litigation still pending it would've become evidence for. Hopefully those suits keep the juicy details flowing! And this does leave Dominion a massive war chest to potentially put Newsmax and OAN into receivership, so there's that.

  40. The main thing to come out of it so far is yet more money from impossibly gullible people. I'm far more hopeful for Georgia to come to something, hopefully soon.

  42. I came late to Dame Edna, but immediately became a fan. I attended a couple of his live shows and followed his various TV shows from the US and the UK (Thank you, Youtube!). When I first saw the Dame I thought it was the funniest performance I'd ever seen. I don't think I had ever laughed so much in my life. I was with a bunch of friends and we all had tears running down our cheeks. However, I noticed over subsequent performances that he repeated many of the same jokes, and for a man of such talent, I thought he was just being lazy and taking everyone for granted. This reached its culmination in 2019 when I saw his final show in Perth. I had a feeling he would probably not be back again and so was really excited. The show turned out to be a total disaster - unless you had never seen him before. He only told one new joke; the remainder of the lines had been recycled from previous shows. I knew them all. Every single line! Every single bit of banter with the audience about their homes, clothes and appearances. He found it difficult to move on stage and after interval he sat down and showed us replays of his TV shows where he interviewed various celebrities. Many of us would have seen those shows before. A number of audience members sitting around me were as angry as I was. We'd paid a lot of money and we felt cheated. So I strongly disagree with the part of the statement released by his family after his death which said: "He never took his audience for granted". On that evening in October 2019 he took us all for a ride. I swore that would be the last Dame Edna show I'd ever attend. As it turned out...... He was a genius. The funniest comedian of them all.

  43. From Pattaya Mail Nong Nooch Tropical Garden welcomed its second baby elephant of 2023. Park Director Kampol Tansajja presided over the April 20 blessing ceremony for the new calf, named “Plai Chai”, with Phra Khru Kittisophon, abbot of Wat Samakkhi Banphot temple in Bang Saray. Nong Nooch organized an elephant-dancing parade to celebrate the April 9 birth. A flower garland was placed the baby elephant’s head and it was sprinkled with holy water. “Plai Chai” is the offspring of cow “Pang Yok” and bull “Plai Ning Nong”. Both baby and mother were said to be healthy. Editor’s note: Pang and Plai are prefix names, used in Thailand for female and male elephants respectively. Phra Khru Kittisophon, abbot of Wat Samakkhi Banphot temple blesses the other elephants and their mahouts at the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden.

  44. I didn't see the article as all that nuanced, other than to remind that Bragg has not revealed what the felony crime(s) are yet, and to cover some background on the crime Trump was indicted, especially how it relates to Farrow's own researching A.M.I. and the doorman. Listening to Michael Cohen drone on last Thursday on Ben Meiseles pro democracy podcast about how "dirty" the prosecutors are in the DA's office relating to Cohen's own indictment, reinforces my suspicion of why such momentum is building against Bragg. It seems odd. Farrow obviously would have no complaints about these chickens finally coming home to roost. Me either. A crime is a crime, even if the perp is a powerful, rich white dude. If Farrow isn't your cup of tea that's fine. I enjoy him. I was quite struck by Catch and Kill so this follow up piece caught my attention. And I will always respect him for the risks he took and sacrifices he made going after Harvey Weinstein. Of course he gives all the credit to the women that went on the record for his research. He's noble that way.

  45. The answer to "So what?" and "Who cares?" is that Drumpf and his operators and handlers covered up the Stormy situation (and others). And that they did this to help prevent news coverage that might have lost him the election. It involved criminal fraud and conduct. In indictment-ese language: Drumpf "repeatedly and fraudulently falsified New York business records to conceal criminal conduct that hid damaging information from the voting public during the 2016 presidential election." _____________ I encourage you to respond using no more words than I did in my response above. Challenge accepted? 😁

  46. A short anecdote. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Barry Humphries around the mid-1990s. A promoter friend of mine was anxious to present him in Hong Kong and had been in touch with his manager, John Reid. It turned out Barry was to be stopping over in HKG in a few weeks and was happy to meet. After his arrival my friend called him at his Kowloon hotel to arrange the meeting. Barry asked to meet on Hong Kong Island instead as he would be shopping that afternoon. The meeting was set for 5:00 pm at the Mandarin Hotel. Barry had suggested he describe what he was wearing, but my friend said if there was one person he'd recognise anywhere it would be Humphries. Taken along for moral support (!) we both arrived at the Mandarin ten minutes early and plonked ourselves in the lobby armchairs. By ten past, we had seen no-one who looked like Humphries. We then looked at each other. We realised that we knew him only as Dame Edna and had never seen him as just plain Barry Humphries. Desperate not to miss him, thereafter we went up to every quite tall expatriate man who entered asking is they might be him. By 5:30 we were panicking when a man in a suit, wearing a hat and clutching half a dozen large shopping bags entered. It had to be him. Thankfully it was. We went over to his hotel. He was anxious to return to Hong Kong where he had last appeared as a solo cabaret act in a high class restaurant at the top of the Mandarin in the 1970s. Like many of his first appearances everywhere, he had bombed. So he was nervous about how he'd be received. My friend did everything he could to work out a deal for a week of performances, but the terms proposed by Reid were impossibly high and no contract could be negotiated. I now feel I might try to buy a pair of his outrageous spectacles as a souvenir of that meeting!
