Guide selects Thai beach as world's best

Surely that comment is in the wrong forum. The title of this one includes "Post information here on events, places, activities, questions". There have been dozens of threads here dealing with items of interest to gay readers without relating specifically to outright sex.8 points -

I have found many lads recently on the apps from Vietnam and not working in the bars. In a conversation with @paulsf he said he heard this is happening more often. I am glad for this. I guess I was hoping that Screwboys would open soon and draw them all in. But, being a bit impatient, I made a booking with one yesterday for this weekend. He quoted 2k for short time plus transportation. He was cute and versatile. I am looking forward to traveling to Vietnam even if only for one hour (or less).5 points

I was just telling the two lads in my bed last night that this forum isn't only about sex. They said, "shut up and take it like a man." I complied. jk This site is about anything of interest to people traveling to Thailand. I like gays more than anyone so it is geared toward that. I do like sex but the site is not only about sex and not only about gays. Lots of topics are welcome.4 points

Let's all just face the fact that THIS is our govt these days, corrupt and power hungry. And the more pressure put on the corrupt individuals, the more arrogant and vengeful they become.... So, we can only hope that todays youth is tomorrows saviors and can CORRECT all this shit, for THEIR sakes. They see clearly whats happening, and dont seem to want to bury their heads or turn their backs like the previous generation has done. If current Laws dont work to the benefit of American citizens, and hold corrupt ELECTED/APPOINTED govt officials accountable , THEN the laws MUST be changed to serve our changing country. These perps LAUGH at the people that put them in office. IF noone is above the LAW, then neither are Supreme Court Judges... Isnt it just Common Sense ?3 points

SCOTUS may have gotten in right in this instance
stevenkesslar reacted to unicorn for a topic
I haven't been agreeing much with the SCOTUS these days, but they may have gotten in right here: https://apnews.com/article/supreme-court-transgender-sports-west-virginia-64d2fd48678afb1a62e5eb84d7762c31 "The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed a 12-year-old transgender girl in West Virginia to continue competing on her middle schoolās girls sports teams while a lawsuit over a state ban continues. The justices refused to disturb an appeals court order that made it possible for the girl, Becky Pepper-Jackson, to continue playing on her schoolās track and cross-country teams, where she regularly finishes near the back of the pack. Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas would have allowed West Virginia to enforce its law against Pepper-Jackson. Pepper-Jackson is in the middle of the outdoor track season. She had filed a lawsuit challenging the law, the Save Womenās Sports Act, which West Virginia lawmakers adopted in 2021. A federal appeals court had allowed her to compete while she appealed a lower court ruling that upheld the West Virginia law..." I can't imagine why one would ban trans girls or women from competing in amateur sports. That would just be mean-spirited. Yes, there are certain sports (for example volleyball and swimming) for which trans women have an unfair advantage, so I can understand restrictions on levels where $$$ are involved (either the professional level or in the competition for college scholarships). A ban on the amateur level, however, doesn't serve any purpose, other than to be nasty.1 point -

The words "ageless" and "timeless" mean something else: abiding, continuing, enduring, eternal, everlasting, immortal, perennial, etc. I think it might be better just to say it this way: They often look much younger than their actual age.1 point -
Other people don't even need to fuck up when you are on a bike. They just need to act differently to what you are expecting. If you ride defensively, with full protection and using advanced rider practices, you are still left open to the unexpected. Something that would be a very minor shunt in a car due to its inherent stability can easily escalate into a fatal crash om a motorcycle or scooter. Given that nearly everyone in Thailand rides without protection, very aggressively and squeezing through the smallest gaps on all sides of vehicles often while texting their friends, it's a recipe for disaster.1 point

Is Indicting Trump A Good Idea?
stevenkesslar reacted to forky123 for a topic
I hope you're right as 4 years of Trump taking revenge for every perceived slight while punishing every minority class his base hates is going to seem a very long time. The world is in a far more unstable place than it seemed in 2016. The last thing it needs is someone like Trump with his knee jerk "diplomacy".1 point -
Guide selects Thai beach as world's best
sydneyboy1 reacted to reader for a topic
From World Beach Guide Thailand is well known for its beautiful beaches and to some extent this has meant that many of the most amazing beaches are now over-crowded and heavily commercialised. However, you donāt have to go to far off the beaten track to still find a pristine gem and the island of Koh Kradan is home to just such a beach. This stunning stretch of powdery white sand remain a relative haven despite being only a few kilometres off the mainland. Ko Kradan is one of the Trang Islands, a group of around 40 large and small islands which form a major part of the Hat Chao Mai national park. Of all these islands and islets Koh Kradan is perhaps the most beautiful and largely unspoilt. Despite only being a couple of hours south of Phuket and even closer to Koh Phi Phi, Koh Kradan is a world apart, sharing all the natural beauty but without the crowds and noise. The waters of the Andaman Sea which surround the island are relatively sheltered and shallow, which means they are always warm i.e. ideal for swimming. On top of that they are crystal clear making for some excellent snorkelling in the protected waters. One thing to note though is the water is very shallow here at low tide and youāll have to paddle quite a way before itās deep enough to swim properly. For those feeling particularly energetic there is a popular kayak route around the island which can be completed in less than 3 hours, even at a leisurely pace. For those looking to just relax and soak up the sun and calm Koh Kradan is perfect. There are numerous hammocks suspended between the palm trees that fringe the beach. The main beach at Koh Kradan is the aptly named east facing Paradise beach. However there is another, equally appropriately named, beach on the other coast. Easily reachable by a short trail through the forest is Sunset beach where you can enjoy a peaceful view of the sun setting over the Andaman Sea. Getting to Ko Kradan involves taking one of the ubiquitous long-tailed boats and these are available from several locations on the mainland or many of the other islands. If you are planning on staying on the island there are several small resorts ranging from the upmarket but basic āflash-packerā style accommodation up to luxury beach bungalows. Nearest town/city Sikao Also known as: Paradise beach To view the full list of the 100 best beaches selected by the UK website: https://www.worldbeachguide.com/top-100-beaches-earth.htm1 point -
It's worth noting that the article's author, Barry Kenyon, used the word "unlucky" in the context of Richardson becoming the second British citizen to have his accident coverage denied by a Thai insurance company within a short period of time. He was not necessarily implying that the circumstances of the accident were unlucky for the victim. Perhaps this old British proverb better applies in this case: There but for the grace of God goes I.1 point

Around 2 months ago I started seeing weather people predicting an exceptionally hot summer. They turned out to be right, For those who are used to Fahrenheit temperature, 45.8Ā°C = nearly 115Ā°F. I don't plan to be out in it any more than I have to. For some strange reason I don't care to risk heat stroke. I'll be spending most of the day indoors with air conditioning. Fortunately the morning temperatures up to about 11:00am are no problem and evenings and night are also cool enough. But between around 11:00am until around 5:00pm, that's when the most severe temperatures occur.1 point

When I was a young man and read of old(er) men getting up multiple times overnight to urine, because of prostate problems - I thought that was the later life I was destined for. At 59 my body presented another choice, however: prostate cancer. Now, without a prostate (was removed), and cancer-free ... I piss like an 18 year old. The trade-off: It's the rare day I get a hard-on, and what had become a happy life as a (mostly) top ... vanished as if overnight (after surgery). I'm okay with that though ... because I'm alive. š1 point

What I had in mind was the US carriers which received billions in Covid relief funds from the US government & still have been charging very high fares. I just don't know about airlines in other countries. I think that some received help from their governments but probably not all. So, point taken!1 point
-
Sad to say but the current situation is a win-win for the airlines. They are flying fewer flights but are racking up record profits. Meanwhile, their customers are getting screwed. Hard to say when (or even if) things will return to a pre-Covid normal. Will that stop me from booking another flight to BKK? Absolutely not!1 point

From The Nation Thailandās heat index ā a measure of temperature and humidity ā will soar as high as 45.8 degrees Celsius (114.44 Fahrenheit) on Wednesday, according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD). The department forecast the hottest areas in each region as follows: North: Tak province, heat index of 41C Northeast: Si Sa Ket, 38.4C Central: Bangkokās Bang Na district, 45.5C East: Chonburi, 45.8C South: Phang Nga, 43.3C The heat index, also known as the āfelt air temperatureā, combines air temperature and humidity to measure how hot the weather actually feels to the human body. A 32-41C heat index triggers the āalertā level at which people working outdoors for extended periods can experience heat exhaustion resulting in nausea, headache, muscle ache, and dizziness. A 41-54C heat index triggers a āwarningā level as people working outdoors can suffer heatstroke which comes with more severe symptoms than heat exhaustion.0 points

The following accident is all too typical of some of the fatal accidents that occur in Thailand. It involves a wealthy hi-so driving too fast (and in this case, reportedly intoxicated) who slams into a motorbike. As has been mentioned by posters above, even safe drivers can become victims as did the two Thais on their motorbike. It will be interesting if the sedan's operator ever suffers the consequences of the law. From Pattaya News Pattaya Couple Tragically Passes Away in Crash with Sedan A Thai couple lost their lives after colliding their motorbike with a sedan on a Pattaya road last night, April 6th. Sawang Boriboon rescue workers responded to an accident report at 8 PM on a road in front of Khao Mai Kaew temple in Pattaya. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered a black Mitsubishi Mirage sedan and a black Honda PCX motorbike that had collided, resulting in severe damage to both vehicles. Unfortunately, the rescuers found two individuals, Mr. Santisuk Sae-tan, 31, and Ms. Chatchawan Kangwanwuthikul, 31, lying on the road with serious injuries. Despite the rescue workersā best efforts, the victims passed away at the scene. The rescuers contacted the victimsā relatives, who said that they were a couple. The police arrived shortly after and questioned the driver of the sedan, Mr. Thamnanab Matmooltri, 64. The officers reported that Thamnanab appeared to be intoxicated, so they took him to the police station for an alcohol test. The authorities suspect that Thamnanab was travelling at high speed and lost control, resulting in the collision with the victims.0 points

Another unlucky Brit denied insurance claim in Thailand
Ruthrieston reacted to PeterRS for a topic
When reading various sites yesterday morning, I recall one major company was named. However, even using my computer's history function, I cannot now find that information so i will not mention it. I did turn up information on another roughly similar accident involving and Englishman which occurred on Ko Tao in January. There the unfortunate scooter driver had crashed into a tree. He did have an annual travel policy from Lloyds Bank although given his injuries it would seem that perhaps he was not wearing a helmet. But he had been out of the UK for 31 days and the limit on his policy for any one trip was 30 days. Again insurance cover was denied. Small print! https://bangkokjack.com/2023/01/08/travel-insurance-thailand-crash/ Three weeks ago The Bangkok Post reported that out of 20,000 deaths on the roads in Thailand, 74% were of motorcycle drivers. It adds that Thailand's roads are the deadliest in the region and among the ten most dangerous in the world. https://www.bangkokpost.com/opinion/opinion/2528069/motorbike-death-toll-a-growing-crisis0 points -
I have just paid 75% more for economy flights to/from Hong Kong at the end of the month than I did in December for flights on the same airline in mid-January. I could not even get my preferred dates as there were only premium tickets left for many afternoon/evening returns. The new normal it seems.0 points
