When I was a young man and read of old(er) men getting up multiple times overnight to urine, because of prostate problems - I thought that was the later life I was destined for. At 59 my body presented another choice, however: prostate cancer. Now, without a prostate (was removed), and cancer-free ... I piss like an 18 year old. The trade-off: It's the rare day I get a hard-on, and what had become a happy life as a (mostly) top ... vanished as if overnight (after surgery). I'm okay with that though ... because I'm alive. đ8 points

Secret hidden bars in Bangkok
floridarob and 2 others reacted to reader for a topic
The Thaiger published an article about 10 "secret hidden bars" in Bangkok today. Although most are in the upscale areas of Sukhumvit, a few are in waking distance of Silom. One of them (Smalls) in Suan Plu was recommended to me over five years ago and I've enjoyed the music, refreshments and atmosphere ever since. Address: 186, 3-4 Suan Phlu 1 Alley, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon, Bangkok 10120 Opening hours: Tuesday, closed Wednesday â Monday: 6:00 PM â 2:00 AM Venture to Suan Phlu Soi 1 to uncover Smalls Bar, an eclectic, three-story venue housed in a restored 1960s shophouse. To find this hidden treasure, look for the inconspicuous black door with a small golden sign. Inside, youâll discover a fusion of Parisian, New Orleans, and Bangkok-inspired dĂ©cor, as well as a rooftop terrace with stunning city views. The innovative cocktail menu and rotating art exhibitions combine to create a captivating atmosphere, perfect for a memorable night out. ============ Perched atop the luxurious Hotel Muse Bangkok, The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar offers a sophisticated and enticing escape from the cityâs bustling streets. This stylish venue, drawing inspiration from the Prohibition era, effortlessly transports its guests back in time to the 1920s, an era where glamour and mystery abound. Moreover, in addition to its exquisite libations, The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar also presents a delectable array of tapas and small plates, perfect for sharing with friends or a special someone. It's the most sought-after ticket for years. The largest Exhibition of works by the 17th century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer ever assembled are on display at Amterdam's Rijksmuseum. It opened in early February and runs until June 4th. But forget about trying to get tickets. They all sold out in just three days. After his relatively short life of 43 years, only 34 works by Vermeer have survived, of which 28 form the Exhibition. These include arguably his most famous The Girl with a Pearl Earring. Vermeer worked slowly, hence his small output, but this meant he left his wife and child in poverty and in debt. For 200 years he was all but forgotten. Then in the 19th century he was rediscovered and deemed to be one of the greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age of Painting. For those who would like to know more about all the works on display, this audio/video guide with Stephen Fry introducing each of the paintings is a splendid introduction. Just copy the link and click on the box "With Stephen Fry" https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/johannes-vermeer?utm_source=nieuwsbrief&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=online_vermeer_experience&utm_content=algemeen_en2 points

I admit that I had no idea what "cisgender" meant before reading this article--and I'm not altogether sure I do now. From The Nation What can businesses do to improve the work environment for transgender people? That was the question asked by transgender representatives at a recent Bangkok seminar to discuss issues they still encounter at work â and potential solutions. âThailand appears to be an LGBTQ heaven, but in reality they are only tolerated, not included. Otherwise, we would see a greater presence of them in all kinds of occupations,â said Nikki Phinyapincha, founder of the TransTalent consulting group. Nikki was speaking at the âTrans Mentorship and Seminar Dayâ on Friday, part of Sasin School of Managementâs inclusion initiative (IDEAL) led by Dr Drew B Mallory and TransTalents. Around 77% of job applications by Thai transgenders are rejected â more than for lesbians, gays, and bisexuals â and they face three times more obstacles in unemployment than cisgenders, explained Nikky. (Cisgender describes a person whose gender identity matches their sex at birth.) âThis is also very important for financial inclusion and security of transgender people, who suffer the most from discrimination at work,â she said. âThere is a false impression that a transgender person has emotional problems. To change this and make a better impact, we need to give power to these people in the boardroom for decision-making too,â she added. Anamika Phiancharoenrat, payables analyst for ExxonMobil, explained that when she took the job, she felt like she had no rights as a transperson at her company. âI was scared of going to the bathroom because I had to follow my title, which is Mr, and I felt so uncomfortable being in the male bathroom,â said Anamika. âI was fortunate that the company had a pride group to support me and help raise the problem, and now I can finally use the women's bathroom,â she said. âThailand may seem like an LGBT paradise, but I disagree. We are not even treated as human sometimes,â she added. Wharinthorn Na-Bangchang, a partnership development manager at LMG insurance, agreed. âI think it's about respect,â she said, adding that âAsian culture is blind, no one knows what transgender or nonbinary means and they want nothing to do with anyone different from a cisgender.â While companies like to appear trans-friendly, she said, they do little or nothing to protect trans rights. âMany organisations seem supportive, but they are not. Itâs more like a marketing campaign. They have to hire an LGBT in human resources first if they really want to support us,â she added. From Thai News Agency BANGKOK, April 4 (TNA) â The police can identify the hacker who claims he holds personal data of 55 million Thai people, stolen from a government agency. The police are now investigating to find out if more people are involved in the data hack. Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittiprapas ordered the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau to accelerate investigation into the hacker named â9nearâ who posted on BreachForum, claiming that he had personal data of more than 55 million Thais leaked from a government agency, said Pol Lt Gen Archayon Kraithong, spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police. Initially, the police know what agency the hacker got the data from but it cannot be revealed. The hacker posted examples of the data with peopleâs names, surnames, addresses, birthdates, phone numbers and ID card numbers. He also threatened the owners of information by sending them SMS. I have to put myself in the idiot category, I never used to take mortorcy taxis but the traffic around my area in Bangkok is back to as bad as pre-covid levels and a motorcy can take me to the neartest MRT station in less about 4 minutes when a metered taxi can easily take 20. Like many motorcy passengers, I don't have a helmet. Perhaps with their drivers having to be registered, accidents are less likely. But the article above makes me re-think the need to get a helmet.1 point -

Is Indicting Trump A Good Idea?
Pete1111 reacted to Marc in Calif for a topic
PALM BEACH (The Borowitz Report) As Donald J. Trump became the first former President in U.S. history to be arraigned, his wife, Melania, marked the occasion by sending thoughts and prayers. According to Mike Lindell, better known as the MyPillow guy, the former President was âsurprisedâ to be on the receiving end of his wifeâs thoughts and/or prayers. âMr. Trump had not been expecting to receive thoughts and prayers,â Lindell said. âHeâs mainly been focusing on donations.â Although it is not known how many thoughts and how many prayers the former First Lady sent, sources familiar with her thoughts and prayers believe that they are considerably fewer than the number of felony counts in her husbandâs indictment. Speaking to reporters at Mar-a-Lago, Mrs. Trump said that she would have âno commentâ on the Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg. âI have a saying,â she said. ââWhen they go low, we go high.ââ1 point -

Barcelona (Thermas) 2019 latest recommendations
Marc in Calif reacted to Connordrick for a topic
yes, there was a construction at the bar level ( back of the bar) that was primarily rooms walls, but nothing major or disruptive I had such a great time, I am leaving Barcelona with nostalgia, I met several guys that not only were super hot but treated me very nicely. It is a Greek/Albanian guy that is kind of the Alpha in Thermas, he kept me on a tie leash - we always went to my room to have the best time, he was very affectionate and wild; he passed me around with the boys that he trusted would be my type and would treat me well. I kind of overdid it the last two days, and now I'm suffering the effects of having little sleep and a lot of sex (both harsh and tender). I'll miss the boy at Thermas, but I think I was lucky every day I attended. Between 5 pm and 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday, it was really busy. Many boys only work there on weekends. There are many Venezuelan boys, and I believe I have them all: four hot Venezuelan men of various mixed races, all of whom were stunning. I didn't realize how beautiful one of them was until I took him out to dinner; in the restaurant's lighting, you can either expect disappointments or wonderful surprises; however, with him, I was astounded by how attractive he was. His type was more akin to a middle eastern supermodel. I made another attempt to see him, but he only visits Thermas on Saturdays, and was unable to schedule a private meeting at my hotel. Something I noticed is that at least 6 guys from Thermas posted their ads on Hunqz all Sunday, most of them were guys from Saturday. then I didn't see their ads again. I only have one private in my hotel from Hunqz, a Colombian young boy with a lot of stamina. I am leaving Bcn, happy and nostalgic for the great guys i met during this trip. Once back home i will post more details. For now, I am exhausted and i need a vacation to recuperate from this vacation forgive my typos: tired and happy,1 point -

Just had my massage at Inhouse. Booked for a 90 min session. In hind sight maybe 60 min should be enough. We finished in 60 min then he said we still have time and continue with the massage after. The massagista was built like Michael Angeloâ David. In more ways than one. I thought maybe itâs the cold room. The aircon was blasting. Itâs different and nice for a change. I am no size queen so it doesnât matter to me. Then after a few min of massage it grew into a decent Brazilian size. The boy is a grower. He put a condom on me and was riding me; switched a few position after. He must be in a zone or something, took the condom off and sit on it. Anyways. I always love massage-sex combo. Had tonnes in Asia but with Brazilian it feels more intimate. I prefer this non rush sex to the sauna. Only thing sauna has is able to see and chat with the boy before doing the deed.1 point -

I donât think they âworked togetherâ in the way it seems youâre probably thinking about, as in being hired together. They just both worked at the saunas and both did programas. Back to South America topic ⊠The Avianca flights BOG-GRU (mid Jan) and GIG-BOG (mid Feb) were great, only $625 USD combined price, very roomy, the best seats (bulkhead in my case), again as business class for most of the western hemisphere has given way to the new 2-2 configuration with the middle table first few rows. At that price, bringing snacks or buying on board not an imposition. Lounge access El Dorado due to the highest flight fare class, but not at Galeão. Air Canada business class to Bogotå return was merely $1150USD. Air Canada business fare to São Paulo was running $7000USD for similar dates, twice the distance for 6 times the fare price, no thanks. The itinerary ultimately worked out well, for both multiple destination goals and savings.1 point

My week in Chiang Mai was great. Lots of great food. There definitely seemed to be more non-Asian tourists in Chiang Mai than in Bangkok. I stayed in an AirBnB which was great. Lots of space, decent Wifi, balcony, washing machine, kitchen etc, and for very little money for the week. I spent most of my time with a boy I met a couple of years ago and with whom I have been in touch with ever since. He is a university student and his English is very good. I met him on Grindr (not a money boy). We spent most days with him coming over to my apartment, going for lunch and then off to an art gallery or other local attraction. It was a very chilled out few days. On Thursday, he had to go home to BKK to see his mum and sister. I had a couple of days to myself so checked out Grindr to see what was about. I hooked up with a few guys over the next three days. There are plenty of guys on the app so didn't have to try to hard to find someone. Lots of massage boys on Grindr in Chiang Mai and the prices are about 50% cheaper than in BKK. One money boy got in touch with an initial price of 2000 thb but i wasn't really interested. He kept trying though and was down to 700 by the time he got the message and looked elsewhere. I didn't really check out the gay scene in Chiang Mai. I did go to Orion Bar which had a cabaret show on at about 9pm? It was empty when i sat down for a drink at 8pm ish but by the time of the show it had filled up quite a bit and there was a bit of a crowd. I like Chiang Mai it is an easy place to hang out and relax. And there are some signs of life returning. Venues appear to be filling up again. There was excellent Thai restaurant near my apartment. They do a Burmese style curry which is one of the best things i have ever eaten. Having been there twice already, I thought I would treat myself on my last night and go again. I turned up to find a queue to get! It was way too hot for me to stand around so found another venue. This is the place if you are interested - https://www.facebook.com/TongTemToh/ It is right next door to an Italian restaurant called Why Not? It is also excellent - http://whynotchiangmai.com/ Back to BKK for one night and stayed at The Raya. What a fantastic little hotel. Very good value, large room and you can't beat the location. I caught up with a forum member for drinks in Soi 4. It does seem to be a little more lively than it was when i was there a week before. Maybe the impact of a few more tourists and Songkran in a couple of days? My drinking partner let me depart early as I had important "errands" to attend to. I managed to hook up with the birthday boy I mentioned in an earlier post. We had planned to meet straight after his work at 6pm but he then had to take overtime at work and was not able to meet until later. Sadly, that meant that our hook up was much curtailed in terms of time together. Still, he was as excellent as the first time we met. My flight back is not until late tonight but it has been a low key day. It is blisteringly hot today and I feel complete; I don't feel the need to be doing much more. Checkout at The Raya is 12pm but you can have a later checkout time at the cost of 100 thb per hour, which feels like excellent value to me. It means I can hang out here and take sanctuary in the air conditioning! I have just ventured out to the @vinapucommended, 5* dining experience, and now back in the room. I have Grindr on and a few messages coming in but I think I am done now, I have had my fill. Some reflections on a couple of weeks back in Thailand: Print all of the documentation out. I can't imagine trying to manage it all off the phone. On the way out my papers were checked 5 times and not all the same combination of documentation. The testing is a nightmare and a waste of time and without a doubt killing tourism. I bought a phone sim at the airport - dtac have a shop by baggage reclaim. It turns out the deal i got was better than i thought it was and no more expensive than buying from a 7-11. I know this because I thought i had only got a 2gb data limit. It turns out it was Unlimited data. My phone had an odd setting which made it appear to be limited to 2gb. When i went to a dtac shop to increase my data she couldn't really understand what/ why I was asking. It was only then i realised my (good) mistake. It was a good job i did get the sim card at the airport, as my first trip outside of my room after Day 1 PCR test confinement, I got locked in a stairwell! Luckily, I was able to phone reception and they sent someone to let me out! Like everywhere else, Covid has hit businesses. That compounded with only a trickle of tourism, many shops, bars, restaurants have closed and show little to no sign of returning anytime soon. Many of the tourist dependent shops have gone - the night bizarre in Chiang Mai is half the size I remember it being and many places even though they say are open in Google have just disappeared. Grindr worked really well for me. Lots of local guys not trade to hook up with. Yes, there are money boys and massage guys on there as well and very easy to find, but plenty of local guys just looking for fun as well. I learnt on a number of occasions to go with the flow. Two local guys I nearly ignored turned out to be two of the best hook ups ever. This is my second time in Thailand and I know that I will be coming back. My first visit, two years ago just before Covid, was spoilt a bit by a heavy cold that I came down with the day before I flew out. It really hit my first week in BKK. This time, once the testing had been successfully navigated, I was able to have a much fuller experience. Yes, there are some restrictions and things not open, but there is still plenty of things that are still standing to enjoy. Hopefully, travel restrictions will ease over the next few months and people will start coming back. I am already planning my next trip out and have got my boss to agree to let me work UK hours in Thailand, if possible for a month. I can think of no better escape from the UK winter!1 point
