    enjoying Brazil!

i got to Rio last Friday morning and was staying in a different Airbnb in ipanema then i usually do because the one i stayed at got sold! By 3:00 pm i had 2 cousins show up and the fun began and hasn’t ended! i have been to Brasil somewhere around a 100 times and this is definitely one of the best trips ever! 2 Brazilians came up from SP to stay at the apartment for the week. Pointe sauna was packed Friday night and had a lot of new faces! Saturday was also good there, Sunday i had a party at the apt. for 10 guys and monday back to pointe. Tuesday i went to 117, but while it was fairly packed there was a lot of the same faces i have seen for quite a few years there and 117 tends to get more muscled BB types(although it still draws from all groups i prefer the guys from Pointe but this can change fast so it’s worth checking out both places! this trip i have probably done 35% sauna guys and z65% non sauna guys. but there were a lot of new faces this trip!

    Out in the provinces

From there we drove to Hua Hin which took all day. And today was a backtrack to Phetchaburi to visit King Monkut's hill top palace and the very cool Khao Luang cave which has sunbeams that stream in around 10 AM. No photos allowed inside the palace but the rest of the outdoor spaces are very pretty. You reach the top of the hill by taking a funicular. I think it was 230 baht for the cable car ride up and back plus entry to the palace. The cave was just 10 baht. Haven't had a chance to go through the photos from the palace yet.

  5. The next day we did a visit to Sangkhlaburi which is near the border with Myanmar. Really not all that much to see given the amount of time it took to get there and back. But there is this long timber bridge called the Mon Bridge. And you can take a long boat to this old-ish temple (built in the 1950s actually) that ended up being submerged when a dam was build on the river.

  7. As one who has frequently criticised the British colonial era, especially in its actions as China disintegrated in the 19th century and the Middle East when it connived with the USA to keep oil out of the hands of the countries where it had been found, I have to agree. The British 'encouraged' the Muslim Rohingya to move to Rakhine when they 'ruled' India. But those who criticise what happened in the distant past have to bear in mind that it is impossible to reverse history. Our world exists today. We cannot undo the past. We cannot give life back to the 5 million plus Indians who were massacred during the idiotic, almost pathetic, way the partition of India was done by having a civil servant from London who had never been near india only 6 weeks to carve up a massive country. We cannot give life back to those millions of Chinese who were killed by opium at the start of the 19th century. The French and the British cannot undo the destruction they wrought at one of the great architectural monuments - Beijing's Summer Palace. The USA cannot undo its illegal war in Cambodia which directly created the power vacuum which led to the rise to power of the Khmer Rouge and the consequent genocide in Cambodia. And so on . . . and so on. As King Charles did yesterday in Hamburg, we can - and should - acknowledge the wrongs of history. Equally we must acknowledge that righting those wrongs in our present world is all but impossible.

  8. Having made contact with my regular Bangkok guy and ascertaining that he was still in Bangkok, I decided to fly up to meet him. We arranged to meet in Nature Boy/Golden Cock and to celebrate catching up after 3 years we started drinking beer. We had 3 beers each and although that probably doesn't sound a lot to many, if you are basically a non-drinker like me, it is. We returned to my hotel to catch up on lost time. After he left I really needed to piss after all that beer but was unable to do so. I stood waiting for about 10 minutes or so but even though I was busting, nothing happened. Not a drop. Not a dribble. It goes without saying that the urge to piss kept me up all night and it was unbearable. I thought there might be a blockage somewhere so decided to go to the hospital to see what was happening. As soon as I walked into the doctor's office he asked me if I'd been drinking. When I told him I had, and that I normally stuck to Coke No Sugar he told me that that was probably the cause. The bladder was too full to be emptied. So I had to take my pants of and lie down on a table. The solution? He stuck a catheter up my cock and into the bladder and began to empty it by pushing hard on my stomach. He was abley assisted by 2 female nurses and the whole procedure was witnessed by others waiting outside the curtained-off area as they didn't bother to close the curtains fully! Anyway, as uncomfortable as that procedure was, it solved the problem and I was on my way. So if you are not a big drinker and decide to over-indulge, you have been warned!

  11. From The Nation As the temperature approaches 41 degrees Celsius in some areas of the country, the Association of Occupational and Environmental Diseases of Thailand has released a list of seven recommendations to cope with health-threatening heat. The list follows a rise in public concern about the dangers of extreme heat following the sudden death on Friday of political figure Chonsawat Asavahame, 54, who reportedly collapsed from heat stroke on Thursday before dying early on Friday. 1. Avoid outdoor activity when the temperature exceeds 34 degrees Celsius. 2. Wear loose clothing made from thin fabric. 3. Drink plenty of water. 4. Get a check-up from a doctor if you have cardiovascular illnesses or other ailments and your health worsens. 5. Use air conditioning while indoors and if you feel tired or get dizzy rub your joints with a cool, wet cloth. 6. Visit or keep in contact with elderly people to make sure they are well. 7. Drink more water if your urine becomes darker as this may be a sign of dehydration.

Neither Mongolia seems to be bitter that eventually lost it all. ....... Aung tried to score points with Burmese but lost them in the process with world's opinion , at least that part of opinion who cares about Myanmar. ....... apologies for past wrongs soothe contemporaries to some extend but do nothing for those which actually suffered. 2086's apology by Russian tsar Ivan Kalita the Second for misguided Ukrainian invasion war in 2022 will do nothing for mothers of Ukrainian and Russian soldier killing each other now.

  17. Myanmar opposition hopes for change of government in Thailand From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Opponents of junta rule in Myanmar are putting their faith in the upcoming Thai general election to bring an end to military-backed rule of prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. Critics of Myanmar coup leader, senior general Min Aung Hlaing, hope that a new Thai administration led by the Pheu Thai party will be more critical of the Tatmadaw (Myanmar’s armed forces). The current Thai administration, through its powerful military, has maintained close contacts with the Myanmar junta since the coup there in February 2021. Senior army personnel frequently hold meetings with their counterparts and Thai TV Channel 7, army-controlled, has carried programs encouraging tourism in Myanmar. There is mutual and ongoing cooperation on natural gas operations in the Andaman Sea. Ma Khine Thet, an exiled Myanmar researcher, said a Pheu Thai-led government in Bangkok might be more inclined to support the critical American line on Myanmar rather than following the Chinese lead in supporting the Tatmadaw. Zach Abu Abuza, a professor at the US National War College, stressed that Thailand is currently caught between the US and Chinese superpower rivalry. Meanwhile, the Myanmar Office of Immigration and Population has slightly modified the health requirements for incoming tourist permits. Fully vaccinated foreigners no longer need a pre-entry PCR virus test and medical insurance, though compulsory, no longer must be bought from the Myanmar junta’s monopoly insurance provider. Some tourist attractions, such as the floating water festival at Inle lake in Shan state, have reopened after three years under closure. However, there is no sign that the junta’s aim of attracting 1 million foreign tourists in 2023 will be achieved any time soon. Critics say that it will be difficult for an incoming Thai administration substantially to reduce ties with China. She provides more foreign tourists to Thailand than any other country on an annual basis, is Bangkok’s biggest trading partner and has invested billions of dollars in Thai business initiatives such as the Eastern Economic Corridor.

  18. Moses, I admire you for your efforts in maintaining one of the three popular forums left serving those in the gay community who travel to SE Asia. And you've also founded a successful and well-regarded travel guide business. But it pains me to see what you feel compelled to say in order to keep your enterprises alive in a country bent on destroying not only its neighbors but its own citizens. I hope that there comes a time in the not so distant future when some semblance of calm returns to Russia and its people. God knows they deserve it.

Somehow they have got to try and recover these and have little option but put fares up. We just have to find the best deals we can.

  20. Trump’s first ’24 rally has a familiar feel: Anger and attacks on his tormentors Actually, Ron DeSantis is not a traitor, IMHO. He is a conservative Republican with a pretty good approval rating as Governor of Florida. Which means even a lot of Democrats think he is doing a competent job. That said, it is obvious what you do when you get a seemingly competent and popular Republican Governor. You go for the jugular. You break his neck. You bleed him out, hopefully slowly and painfully. It's actually quite fun, if you are Donald Trump and his followers. Isn't this simply common sense? Isn't this obviously what leadership is about? Isn't this what America needs more of? Not the pussies and traitors! Pussies and traitors! Pussies and traitors! Pussies and traitors! This is just common sense. Isn't the problem obvious? (And don't get me started on The Gays making pussies out of our Woke Military! Ugh!) Then again, here's a thought. Why not sit back and enjoy the Republican Freak Show? When has the majority of America said, "Hey, we want this Freak Show! This is what we want! We want more freaks!" Yes, 3 million fewer Americans voted for Trump than Clinton in 2016. And he won anyway because we have an electoral college that was designed to help Whites owns Blacks. Alan Lichtman told us in September 2016, once again accurately, that was because people were going to give a thumbs down to the party in power. Not because of Donald Trump. He actually said Hillary might win, even though history was against her, simply because Donald Trump is such a freak. The majority of America did not want Freak Show in 2018. The majority of America did not want Freak Show in 2020. The majority of America did not want Freak Show on Jan. 6. 2021. The majority of America did not want Freak Show in 2022. They may have been okay with RINOs like Kevin McCarthy. Or RINOs like Chris Sununu. Or RINOs like Mike DeWine - who could not get 50 % of the vote in an Ohio Republican primary, even though he won 62 % of the vote in the Ohio general election. It was very clear. America wanted both conservatives and liberals in 2022. But not Freak Show and liars. Trump’s beer track advantage over Ron DeSantis The divide quickly defining the GOP primary. In other words, the minority of mostly White Americans who identify as Republican and conservative and don't have college degrees are most passionate about Trump. Meanwhile, the Independents and moderate Republicans who are more likely to vote Democratic - in 2018, or 2020, or 2022, or all three - are the ones who have the most distaste for The Freak Show. So, speaking as a partisan Democrat, why not let Trump bleed DeSantis out, and give us more than a full year of Freak Show? What's the downside? That he'll do an even better job of alienating Independents and moderates than he did in 2018, or 2020, or 2022 with his lies and Freak Show? To rebut my own argument, the obvious downside is that Trump could win again, like he did in 2016. But I'll trump you with Lichtman on that argument. His point would be that Biden will win or lose based on a thoughtful judgment of how he did for four years. If there is a bad recession and a humiliating defeat for the US in Ukraine, Biden will be toast. If there is a strong recovery and Putin negotiates a peace deal that leaves a stronger NATO and most of Ukraine intact, Biden will likely win. What Trump gives us is another Freak Show, even more distasteful than the first one. Which Americans already voted thumbs down on once, in 2020, by about 7 million votes. No bet is safe. But Trump is probably less likely to beat Biden than just about any other Republican. Why not have a bloodthirsty Freak Show, which is what Donald Trump wants? What could possibly go wrong? 🤫

  21. Since I tend to do a lot of massages when I'm here I figured maybe it makes sense to put my impressions in one thread. I already mentioned my experience at Zoo Spa and Onsen in that dedicated thread, so I won't rehash it here. Prime Massage, Silom Soi 6. Yesterday I visited Prime in Silom Soi 6. Obviously this place is a huge massage factory. My back and neck were giving me some trouble so I thought a real, legit massage was in order. I did a 90 min oil massage. I liked the orange scented oil. No choice of masseurs but I didn't really care. The young woman at the desk took my 700 baht and had me take a seat briefly. Then I was led across the soi to the annex building. Showered down the hall. The sign in the shower about the 20000 baht fine if you poop in the shower gave me some pause. I presume that means it's actually happened in the past. Back to the room and onto the table. The table had a face cut out but was nearly as uncomfortable as a bed without it. The masseur used VERY hard pressure. Ultimately I had to cry out when he did that thing that too many masseurs do of pinching the muscle on the inside of the thigh. It hurts like hell and I had to tell him not to do that. I might have been a little loud in my protest. But he did ease up. Overall the massage was very thorough if totally legit with absolutely no hanky panky suggested or necessary. It was a bit painful though and too rough for me. I actually would have appreciated some slow stretching but his movements were too abrupt. I tipped 500 (I was pointed to the policy of 100 minimum at the cashier desk) because I thought it was fair, not because I was totally happy with the experience. 15M Massage (Saphan Kwai BTS) Today it was off to a part of the city I don't think I've ever visited before. 15M Massage is about a 30 second walk from the Saphan Kwai BTS (exit 3). So it's quite convenient. I booked Noom in advance (photo below). He looks almost nothing like this photo. So much so that I questioned to myself whether it was the same guy. His hair is no longer blond. But the tattoo matches up and so do the earrings. He's also a bit more muscular than in this photo. Booking via Line was easy. They also have a Twitter account (https://twitter.com/boybk12345) Mostly straight guys. Many quite handsome. And they are teamed up with the nearby 27M Massage. But since this location is so easy to get to I chose it. I arrived a few minutes early and Noom was already there as well. I asked for the 90 minute "aroma" massage which is my basic go-to option. I paid the 550 baht to the handsome boy at the cashier station and was led up one level. Room was very basic with a just a thin mattress on the floor. I was pointed to the shower up a further flight of stairs. Once back in the room Noom was already undressed and ready to go. The "massage" was basically terrible. I suspect there is no training for these guys and anyway no one is going there for a proper massage. It was just a mindless rub spending an inordinate amount of time on one leg, then the other before eventually progressing to a back rub. It was not especially erotic or relaxing - just kind of mechanical. After a while I was mercifully invited to flip over. The AC was a bit too cold and my efforts to communicate that were unsuccessful. Either my Thai is really terrible (likely) or he just didn't understand me or my pantomime of being cold. His phone dinged constantly with Line messages. Obviously the polite thing to do is silence your notifications in such a situation. He did offer to fuck me, but that's not my thing. So we moved on to other things that I do enjoy. I will say he was impressively hard with very little input needed. After a while the lights were flickered which I presume was meant as a signal to wrap up. Once we did finish I noted that barely an hour had passed. So, my 90 minute session was not what I go. But frankly I was fine with that. A satisfactory ending was achieved but on the whole not the greatest experience ever. Noom left me to shower alone as did he. We could have conserved some water, but that's not the way it worked out. They do have a couple of gay guys on staff so that might be a better option unless you just want a straight guy to fuck you. I did note several cute boys on my way out. If I'd had a better experience I would be more inclined to return.

  26. No, I want to discuss the humanitarian tragedy that is Myanmar. That was what the OP was all about. You seem to believe that by misdirection you can refocus the thread and magically transform your glorious leader into another Gandhi. In actuality, Putin has become so paranoid that he fears his own generals will sabotage his plane that he's confined himself train travel. But as the old proverb goes, just because you're paranoid that doesn't mean they're not really out to get you. Now that Putin's best friend has become the first president to be indicted of a crime, there are bigger fish to fry.

  35. More like 40 % plus. I like the way Bragg's office framed the issue in their response to the House Republicans (aka Team "Lock Her Up"): The thing that is most worrisome to me, if I isolate this one moment in time, is that anyone can make a great argument to sweep this under the rug. If all this is about is hush money to a hooker, which is like tip money to a billionaire, it's not worth the drama and division. Nobody thinks this trial will be done within the next year. So there's every reason to believe by the time any verdict is delivered, Trump will have been indicted again. And again. That makes a difference. Which is worse: hush money to hookers, lying about losing a Presidential election, or starting a riot at The Capitol to hang democracy? And Mike Pence? Let the juries decide. The polls are clear that over half of Republicans have a simple approach to democracy now: FUCK DEMOCRACY. If democracy means Trump loses, well then obviously it's not democracy. The election must have been stolen. And now polls show over half of Republicans have a simple approach to the law: FUCK THE LAW. If there's an issue between Trump and the law, well then obviously the law is wrong. He can't have broken the law. We don't need evidence. We don't need facts. He's just a victim. If it were just about a nice sweet guy like DJT making a simple mistake in paying hush money to a hooker, that would be one thing. Maybe it would be best to just sweep that under the rug. This is very different. It is a systematic and deeply felt attack on democracy, elections, and the law. And over half of one of America's two major political parties is caught up in it. You can't sweep that under the rug. Nor does Team MAGA or Trump want to sweep it under the rug. They are spreading the toxic lies and civic pus continuously. Meanwhile, most Democrats, the vast majority of Independents, and a significant minority of Republicans - which is to say a vast and not silent majority of Americans - are on the side of democracy, elections, and the law. I keep coming back to what Obama politico David Plouffe said back in 2018 or so. Defeating Trump's attack on democracy and legal and government institutions isn't going to take four years. It's going to take four election cycles. If we are lucky 2024 will be the last straw. But Trump clearly and passionately wants this fight. And my guess is he has a big enough minority behind him that this is what he'll make 2024 about.

  41. I frequented the Yunomori near Phrom Phong back way back since 2015. There used to be some 'going-on's' happening in the toilet back when the cubicles weren't all blocked up. There were a lot of action happening in the urinals as well since obviously, you only have that small face towel to obscure your business. But mostly, the hot and youngish locals would normally go there to show off their goods, cruise, and then 'take-home' their pickings where it is more safe to play.. But now that scene has died down since the staff have become very strict in catching any hanky panky.... I've even witness a local and a tourist getting caught and shamed to death by the staff, telling they are going to be taken to the police. Alas, that onsen has just become a place to go to and really relax, and just enjoy the eye candies from all over the world visiting Bangkok

  43. I guess we all have lines we won't cross. Zoo Spa and Onsen (On Nut BTS) In my case, I felt like I had to return to Zoo Spa despite their high prices because I just had to meet "Phoenix". He's better looking in person and taller than I expected. I don't know why I just expect everyone to be short. There seems to have been a split between this branch and the new branch on the Thonburi side near Talat Phlu which is now called Z Spa. Who doesn't love some DRAMA?! So instead of sharing boys between the two they seem to have chosen their sides. One odd thing about this place is the constant changing of prices. I think maybe the boss is figuring out that his prices are too high. Last night it was "50% off". There's a new "package" called Cuteboy Package. I'm not sure how it's different from a regular massage. It's supposed to be a 90 minute body massage for 2500 (+ tip which is 1500). The massage as such was actually very good. Some parts were a bit repetitive but it was quite relaxing on the whole. Once I flipped over things progressed quickly. He wouldn't do a body to body massage but I found that being a bit more assertive about what I was looking for was beneficial. My ending was satisfactory. On the whole this place is still probably too expensive, but since I don't know when I am ever coming back here again I didn't feel bad about overspending to satisfy my curiosity.

Hes a wooden, racist, homophobic gnome, but really isnt MAGA enough for the Maga's in terms of anti-Democracy. DeSantis has never called for violence against a country claiming it denies its citizens so must be taken back. For him to succeed, he must ramp up the personal "grievance" of it all and really make his base feel like Shit. ......

    Yunomori Spas Bangkok

As far as the Yunomori Spa my friends had recommended and which I wrote about in my previous post, nothing written by @BiggusDikkus could be further from the truth! Granted he was describing the older branch of Yunomori which I have not visited. I finally made it to the new one on Sathorn Soi 10 this afternoon and found it a quite amazing place - better than many in-town spas in Japan. It is obviously very new and the owner has used only the best materials everywhere. There is locker space for around 250 in the men's section although there were only around 25 when I arrived around 3:30 pm and 40 when I left at 5:00 for a dinner appointment. I expect a Saturday evening and Sunday afternoons will be quite crowded. The Spa has lots of treatments but I expect most will prefer only to go to the onsen. The male onsen takes up the whole of the 3rd floor. It includes 5 baths (but only two different levels of heat - hot or very cold!), a largish sauna and steam room and lots of Japanese style showers. As you enter downstairs, you leave your shoes in a small locker, take the key to reception and pay the entry fee (550 baht unless you are 65 or over when it is only 300). You get an electronic wrist tag which opens your locker and with which you pay for any drinks or snacks you might want. I saw a very cute boy going upstairs and decided I'd follow him. Sadly he was one of the staff! Before entering the locker space you get a bag with a large towel for drying before you leave and a very small towel for use in the spa. Some guys used these to cover themselves (typically Thai!) and four in their mid-20s or so wore black shorts (even more typical). I think clothing of any sort should be banned in all hot spring-type spas!). I guessed the age range of the customers when I was there ranged from around 25-30 to around 50 - with me being by far the oldest (not that that seemed to worry anyone)! I would put most in the Thai middle class category although there were also about 4 farang. There was also one father there with his young son but they did not stay very long. Not one Japanese that I could make out when straining to listen to conversation! I did not notice much 'looking' and any hint of approaching another guy within the spa is a definite no-no. But as a place to relax and perhaps see some handsome eye candy, I really enjoyed it. If you see someone you like and they also have an attraction for you, it's easy to swap phone numbers or just leave together. I also seem to have benefitted from my short visit. Having strained my upper back earlier in the day, the spa waters did wonders for it. https://www.yunomorionsen.com/sathorn/onsen/

    HOT BOYS

Yes, I met many 'models' as they like to call themselves on my trips to Colombia. It takes a bit of effort, but it's certainly possible, although not all models do 'presenciales' as @Boy69 already mentioned. A couple more tips: Don't go for the 'first page' models, unless you are prepared to pay a lot. They earn more in a couple hours on the sites than they would earn by meeting you. Visit also the lesser known sites like stripchat, bongacams, strreamate, cam4,.. as a general rule of thumb, the less popular their page, the more interested they will be in meeting you for a reasonable price. Try to find out their real location first. They are often in another city than what is mentioned in their profile. You will need their whatsapp. Some of the guys will give it for free, some will ask tokens. Only spend tokens if you think that he would be prepared to meet you. Moderators of groups of guys can be a blessing or a curse. Some are willing to act as the pimp of their goup and other guys of the studio, others will just try to get more tokens from you and fence off any direct contact with the guys. It helps a lot if you can speak and understand basic spanish. If possible, send them a picture that proves that you are in that city (or at least have visited that city in the past). I keep selfies with the "I ❤️ name-of-the-city" boards that you find in every Colombian city for that purpose. Take the indirect approach. Go to the local gay disco and try to get their whatsapp over there. While maybe 15% of the guys in industry club (Medellin) work on webcam, I would guess that around 80% of the guys in pandora (Cucuta) are webcam models. Do always check their ID. Do not assume they are 18+ because they work on those sites. Some are not.

    Back in Bangkok

A really mixed day today. They had clearly changed chefs today and breakfast, whilst still very good, wasn't quite of the standard of previous days. If i can have a moment to unleash the foodie in me - the hollandaise on the eggs benedict lacked the hint of vinegar it should have had (and did on previous mornings) and the pork noodles were a little bland. The stock was clearly a rush job and lacked the depth of flavour it should have had - which kind of summed the day up...... On the positive side, I made it out to Warehouse 30. There are all sorts of independent (8 or 9) shops there. A decent café that would have been at home in Shoreditch (actually, thinking about it the whole place was very Shoreditch for those UK based and know the hipster vibe); an absolutely stunning furniture store with prices to match; an excellent contemporary art gallery (although I would have like to have seen more Thai representation. The artists were on the whole European); a digital art gallery which was ok (i think when they do events it will be fab), and a jewellery shop showcasing 5 or so makers (again very high end - i think some of them are stocked by Harrods). Oh, and there was also a vintage Americana store, stocking things from 1950 until about 1980? Interesting place if that is your thing, although pretty pricey Back to the hotel and a Thai guy messaged me who has been trying to hook up since i arrived. I can't really explain why, but I had been kind of putting him off. Anyway, I was back at the hotel with some time to kill so took him up on the offer. OH MY GOD - he was absolutely stunning. @vinapu would have been in heaven. Thai, probably about 30 although i find it very difficult to age Thai guys sometimes, they can have an ageless/ timeless quality to them on occasion. He arrived wearing a muscle vest and my word was it appropriate. I am not sure I have been with someone so ripped and yet almost understated. Perfect sized dick - a notch or two larger than average without getting to the oversize category. Stunning meet. I don't often do repeats but will definitely seek him out again. He lives behind the hotel so can be at my room door in no more than 15 minutes. Bonus. He also loves overweight white guys, double bonus, and I am very happy to oblige. Not a money boy so brings all the goods for free - what's not to like? For the life of me I have no idea how I almost let this guy slip by.... Did some boring stuff on the computer to see off some time as i was keen to go to the night market. I had checked online about the various night market offerings and found an article posted in 2022 and up to date information. Having looked at their recommendations I went to the second train market, out of town at Srinakarin, as they wrote that there was more art and antiques there and less of a food offering that at the other train market at Ratchada (which apparantly has a new name and location as a result of Covid. It is branded now as Jodd Fairs). Srinakarin is a little way out of town and as I left the hotel, after canapes and beer, at about 6.30pm the journey took 45 minutes because of the traffic. My own fault as I should have either just had more canapes and left a bit later or gone early. Never mind. However, the promise of the art and antique experience was sadly not to be. About half (maybe significantly more as it is hard to say if there would have been additional stores in empty areas) were closed up. A very sad sign of the times. I was not surprised but I had done as much due diligence as I could. Again, lack of tourists seems to have completely killed the place. Now, food offerings match the number of vendors and what is on sale is 90% generic market fair - in essence there were only about 5-6 different types of store: Shoes, clothes, perfume, phone accessories, bags, and then food. There were a couple of vintage stores open but really nothing to make the visit worth while. I feel desperately sorry for them. I gave it a good look to make sure I wasn't missing anything and then decided to give it up as a bad job. Only decision left to make was whether I stayed to eat something there or head back Silom way. The live music made the decision for me and I could not have got out of there quicker. A number of the bars there have acts on - all of them average to poor and I had had enough! Made a tactical decision, as it was getting on for 9.30pm, to get dropped off at Le Meridien so that I could walk down past the boy bars to the 5*, award winning restaurant. A funny aside - I passed a guy who last night had seen me walking down the street and asked if i needed help. At the time I said I was looking for a taxi and just kind of brushed him off. He was genuinely trying to be helpful it turns out. When I got back to the hotel and caught the look of myself in the mirror I understood why... Having had the experience of the bars last night I stopped in at a 7-11 to buy a couple of beers to take back to the hotel. When I was in the boy bars, I was fine. Clearly, by the time I had been to the 7-11 and marched down the road looking and failing to find a taxi I just gotten hotter and hotter. When I caught sight of myself in the hotel he must have thought i was about to pass out - I was completely drenched, my shirt was soaked in sweat. I passed him again tonight - he did a double take and said, "you ok?! Long time no see!!" Bless him. The second time today I have been shown up brushing somebody off that I should have had more time for. Anyway, I got out at Le Meridien and headed down past Fresh Boys and Hot Male. As anticipated, the boys outside came running over to entice me in - this time I told them that I would but their drinks were too expensive. It did feel a little more lively this evening, possibly because tonight Dream Boys was open. Last night it was closed up, but tonight music was pouring into the street which at the very least made it feel more alive down there. Again, I was approached to go in, I asked him how much drinks were (400 bht!) and said that it was too expensive - he kind of agreed and left me to it. A money boy has been messaging me for the last couple of days and I had kept him on hold in case I fancied a meet. Having filled up at said 5* restaurant, I took him up on the offer. 2,000 and he arrived as promised at my room door. Sex wise no complaints, but I am not sure I have ever met someone (anyone) who has spent more time looking at themselves in the mirror. Seriously. That and the first thing he wanted to do was arrange glasses and Banyan Tree branded towels so he could do a story for Instagram! Like I said, the actual sex was good, but it was more than a little bit of a mood killer. So, an up and down day (in every sense). Not entirely sure what my plans are for tomorrow. I will just see where the mood takes me, although I might just take a trip on the river. Recommendations very welcome!
