    Out in the provinces

I couldn't quite figure out where to put this... But I've been out in Kanchanaburi for the last few days. Yesterday we visited Huay Mae Kamin waterfall. It's about 45km past Erawan Falls which are currently closed due to storm damage a couple of weeks ago. It is spectacular and magical. It's quite reminiscent of Kuang Si in Luang Prabang with several levels and beautiful green waters. Also quite easy to get to with parking right near the most beautiful parts of the falls. But take the walk to tier 6 and you're rewarded by an enormous abundance of butterflies. I've never seen anything like it. Well worth the 300 baht entry for foreigners Lots of long drives and winding roads out in that part of the country.

  2. Finally! After more than 2+ years. Will be in SP (1-6 April), BH (6-11), RJ (11-22), and back to SP (22-28). Happy to meet up and exchange notes if anyone of you are in the same city around these dates.

  3. Another perceptive and enlightening post. Thank you. And I do not think you have hijacked the thread. it is after all about banning something. A Supreme Court that approves extending gun rights is just nuts in my view. Everyone can see that the US Supreme Court is totally fucked up. A Supreme Court that is appointed by politicians and is essentially a political instrument - and increasingly political from what I see at a distance - ignores what the founding fathers intended, again in my view.

  7. Way back in the early 1990s, there was a gay gogo bar on Thaniya called Banana Bar. It literally had a banana in its logo, displayed on a neon sign among the numerous neon signs of the street. The bar itself was on one of the upper floors of a building on the eastern side of the street closer to Suriwong Road than Silom Road. I must have visited it just once or twice. It didn't leave much of an impression on me. I can't even remember if it aimed at Japanese men.

  8. @KYTOP While I'm a democrat, I have, in fact, voted for republicans in the past. But, the republican party that was is no more. Maybe they're rediscover themselves. I hope so. I couldn't possibly support any republican today. It no longer has any ideas. It is just a mass of screaming infantile rage at the world for not all being stuck in the 1950s. It is a party that has lost the culture war, but is going to burn down as much as it can as it goes. My father is buried in Arlington. My older brother served in multiple combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. I wanted to serve but wasn't going to lie about not being a faggot to serve. I knew how that would go. But, I really did want to be a career navy officer. They used to talk about all the talent the gay witch hunts lost. They never talked about those of us who looked at it and never chose to join. I really, really want to love this country. Today, I can't. I have been shown how many of my fellow Americans want to be Nazis. I have been show how little compassion many of my fellow Americans have. I can't bring myself to love that truth.

  9. Firstly thank you for your excellent, thought-provoking post. I think all sane people surely agree with you - "Wish I did have an answer." Never having been married I do not have grandchildren but my brother and sister each have two children and four grandkids between them. My sister now lives in Scotland not far from where the massacre of school kids took place in Dunblane in 1996. That shooter killed 16 young children, a teacher and injured 15 others. As so often in these ghastly events, he ended up by taking his own life. That massacre of young lives led directly to a tightening of gun legislation and a banning of the private ownership of most guns in the UK. With more guns in the USA than people, that is never going to happen there. But what I find most strange is the fascination many Americans have with guns in this day and age. @KYTOP refers to it in his post. Why is it necessary for an individual to own several guns - and take pride in them? They are instruments of death in the wrong hands. Yes, I know knives, cars and blunt instruments can and do also cause death. But it seems to me that 99.9% of guns require the deliberate action of an individual. Whenever kids and others are murdered, the right led by the NRA - and I guess some on the left as well - keep harping on about mental health being one of the main causes rather than the ownership of or access to a gun. From what we learn, I suspect this is partly true - but how you describe someone who shoots his former work colleagues only because he got in his view unfairly fired as being mentally unsound to me stretches the limit of what is "mental health". And as I have written on a simiar subject before, how on God's good earth do you run checks on the mental health of all citizens? They may be perfectly sane prior to the purchase of a gun, and then go to pieces afterwards. There is absolutely no way you can keep tabs on the mental health of the vast majority of gun owners. Then there is the issue of weapons designed for use on the battlefield being all but freely available for purchase in the USA. For what reason are these frightful instruments of death permitted on American streets? Those who shout Second Amendment will no doubt be aware that there is considerable and continuing controversy about the precise meaning of the wording of that Clause. Those that framed it had never heard of high capacity automatic and semi-automatic guns designed specifically to kill large numbers of people. The Constitution of a country cannot be set in stone. As a huge array of technological and other advances occur over time, so a Constitution needs to be sufficiently flexible to take them into account. But I am not an American citizen and that is an issue for them.

  10. I assume this comment is aimed at me sense I think I am the only poster that mentioned being a Grandparent. At first I intended to ignore this but I now have decided to give you a long response, which I am sure you will have a snarky response to. I was one of the Original members here when OZ started this site. It is posters like you, with your snarky remarks, being the reason I seldom post anymore. At my age I hate drama, arguing, and people that have no respect for other peoples concerns or opinions. Now let me tell you a little about me before you try to imply I do not care about the safety of my Grandchildren. For the long timers here they know me as a guy that was lucky enough to spend 10 years of my life traveling the world, due to lots of vacation time, the states for work and from hiring escorts well over 100 escorts during this time period and writing reviews. Gosh I had a great time!!!!! I have had the pleasure to meet several long term posters going back to the Hooboy days. One rule of these sites is to always protect ones privacy but I will give up some of it today for you 'Mr Doesn't care about your Grandkids education' and who seems to think I am terrible because I do. Caring for them IS my job and not yours anyway. Now on to the Second Amendment. I am a retired EMT, Paramedic, and Emergency Services Director of a very large Multi-State Ambulance (EMS) Service in flyover country in the USA. In 1989 I was the second EMS responder to a mass shooting at a factory. This is an abbreviated version. My first sight when entering thru swinging doors was a Police officer standing over a man down with his gun still pointed downward at him. It was the shooter who had killed himself. (Ended up he had severe mental issues and had been fired from there due to his behavior). Blew his face clean off, the cop wouldn't have let me check him if I had wanted to. I suddenly realized I was stomping thru several inches of water everywhere. Bullets had pierced over head water pipes and the water was red from blood. I then came to a screaming man, I can still hear his screams, holding his leg. His knee was completely blown out sideways. HE was not critical, had him to hold a bulky dressing to his knee and moved on, Triage. To my right was a breakroom, I found a man down under a table, I couldn't save him and I moved on. Found another past the breakroom, couldn't save him, moved on. Found a man with a classic chest wound, no breath sounds in one lung. I can save him if I can get him to the hospital for surgery, We saved him that day. WE quickly handed him off at the Trauma center with a quick verbal report and returned to the scene. My knee guy was still there, we grabbed him and a walking wounded, arm I think and treated and transported both together. The shooter used a AK-47 and a 9mm handgun. 9 people died that day and 12 were injured that survived. I still remember pouring bloody water from my boots and squeezing the bloody water from my socks. As a person with Rank I wore a White Uniform shirt. I doubt if you can imagine what the shirt looked like. This is what comes back to me when I hear of mass shootings. A couple of months later responded to a bank robbery shooting. Found people hiding under desks, in closets and in the vault. I've seen people that have had blown their brains out on the walls and ceiling committing suicide. Seen people live after blowing their face off trying to kill themselves but missed the brain and top of their head. Gunshot wounds with a small entrance but a big exit from the body. Please don't lecture me about mass shootings and my grandkids safety. Please do not lecture about guns. Go make more snarky comments. I lost count long long a go as to the number of dead people I have seen from guns and other things. As the boss in my younger days I would still ride out on the units. Yes kids injured or dead were always rough. As I got older I stayed behind the desk more. I do not expect the Second Amendment to change in my lifetime and probably not my kids, or grandkids for that matter. Screaming, shouting, calling people hateful names and MAGA supporters will not change that. My family is from a very rural area. Their guns, horses, land, and cows are very important to them. They are some of the most loving and caring people you could ever meet and yes many of them go to church on Sunday. Give you the shirt off their back if you needed it, but not their gun. They love their guns and they are good people. I do not own a gun. Gave the shotgun I received for my 16th birthday away when my first child was born. All we can do is try harder to keep guns away from certain people , like people with mental issues and convicted felony offenders, etc... Wish I did have an answer. In Nashville it seems the school did everything right. Doors all locked, a good alarm system, staff and students knew were to hide and what to do but still 6 died. Yes this is beyond sad and of course I am concerned about the safety of my grandchildren. But when it comes to Deaths I have seen. Ever taken a crying baby from a car seat while it's mother is dead behind the wheel from being hit by a drunk driver? That baby never got to know its mother. Tended to a pedestrian struck and killed by a drunk driver? Picked the brains of a drunk driver off the interstate after he got on going the wrong way and hit a semi head on with both going full speed? His body and car metal blended together into a bloody mass. Top of his skull popped and yes his brains were lying outside the car on the highway. I DO NOT drink either. I will add to this long post with... In the last several years on the Job I had the pleasure to become involved with some national trade groups and we went to DC 4-5 times a year to lobby congress as a volunteer organization. This firmed up me being a moderate, that votes for BOTH Democrats and Republicans. I have had great conversations with several of both parties and never once screamed at them or called them names. I enjoy political conversations but steer clear when it is not a respected conversation but insults name and calling if you barely disagree. I always said back then that there is not a Thousand dollar check difference between a Democrat or a Republican. I guess today with inflation its a $2500 check or more. As I have written this I have calmed abit.... So yes again, of course I care about the safety of my grandchildren AND their education. I hope it makes you feel real good for to question that. Now Lecture me again with your snarky comments. Have a good one and take care. I have had a wonderful life and I do believe I have helped a few people along the way. Now back to my retirement.

  11. I decided to post here as this is my original thread. Hello everyone, I am back from my 11 day trip to Brazil. I feel sick, I threw up yesterday, I feel better now. On top of that I have a sore anus. Let me begin by saying, now I understand why everyone raves about Brazil here in the forum I am not much of a writer, so I will try to keep it brief but I do realize the benefits for sharing information especially for newbies like me. It helped a lot, So I really want to thank all the people who have shared knowledge about their Brazil trips. I did 5 nights in Sao Paulo and 6 nights in Rio. Solo Trip. I was super nervous, I have been to other countries but for some reason, Brazil was alway regarded as unsafe everywhere. Anyways lets get to the point. I want to let you know that this review is from a first time Brazil visitor and not a seasoned one. From Day 1-4 I went to Lagoa. My Oh my. It was delicious! haha. I know some people who have been to Brazil multiple times have mentioned that Lagoa is not the same anymore in terms of boys but for a first timer like me, it was amazing!! The only day it was kinda disappointing to me was Sunday at lagoa (I was there thu-sun) in terms of boys. I really liked the staff there too, very helpful. There was this one garoto whose name started with 'H' was such a sweetheart, he ended up becoming my regular. One thing to note, calling an uber To Lagoa is almost impossible. I had so many drivers cancel the ride. I think it is because of the confusing turn maybe. So what I used to do was call the uber to the market 'Remax' which was on the next street and stay in the market, until uber comes. Both the hotel people and lagoa people always told me to never take my cellphone out in public. On Monday day 5, I give myself some rest.Ooofff. A bottom needs to eat as well. Lowkey jealous of all the tops. I would do light breakfast, then douche after a couple of hours, have my fiber pills and have dinner after the sauna visit. On Day 6, Tuesday. I took the bus to Rio. It was through Flixbus. Really good bus but crappy wifi. After reaching Rio and freshen myself up. I was ready to go to 117 on their famous tuesday. Very nice front desk person, and he explained to me in english. I then made my way to explore the building. To my disappointment, it is such a run down, old looking building with mostly old looking rooms. But the selection of garotos was phenomenal there. Muscular!! A bottom's heaven...lol On Day 7, Wednesday. I went to 202. This was their free cabin day and it was packed!! I have never spent this much time at a sauna, but that includes the wait times for the room. The building is worse than 117 but the rooms are slightttllyy better. On Day 8, Thursday. I checked Meio Mundo but it was dead, probably on the wrong day. The guy was nice enough for me to check out the place before I pay. I went to 117 then. Following days I switched between 117 and 202. I don't know which one is Junior at 202 but the young guy on the front desk who is probably the son of the older finer gentleman is sooo cute. Other things to note: I did uber for everything as this was my first time. Maybe i was a little too cautious. I used Uber black. I used Airbnb experiences for touristy things I stayed at hotels in both SP (Ibis Styles Centro) & Rio (Royal Regency Palace Hotel). I did not intend to bring anyone to my room. I got a cheap alternate cellphone but I was not able to get a sim at GRU airport without a brazilian document, so I had to go to a mall and go to the vivo store to get the sim. They speak Portuguese but if you speak Spanish, you can get by for a short visit. Don't get me wrong when I say 'run down building'. I was expecting 117 and 202 to look like Thermas Barcelona & Lagoa. Having said that neither thermas bcn or lagoa are palaces but you would understand what I am talking about when comparing to 117 or 202. The boys charged $R 150 - 200. I did not negotiate. Brazil is a beautiful country, a must visit. As long as you are aware of your surroundings, you are good. I would love to go again! Don't let anything discourage you from visiting. Feel free to ask any questions!

  12. From The Thaiger Global aviation has taken off to a promising start this year, with the Pacific Asia Travel Association predicting a 71% growth rate for the region. The downside is that the recovering industry can’t get enough labour to keep up and the massive swell in demand has brought with it a massive swell in flight prices. Travel restrictions have been lifted worldwide, allowing for easier and more convenient air travel. Even ultra-locked-down China has allowed travel to resume post-pandemic. But their delay in reopening left Asia lagging in recovery, as the World Tourism Organisation believes Europe and the Middle East will reach 80-95% of its pre-pandemic numbers this year. There is massive pent-up demand from eager travellers, but the Covid-19 pandemic battered airlines to the ground, and getting back up has been challenging. Many went bankrupt, and layoffs were unavoidable across the whole industry. Some returned leased planes and now have to order new ones to replenish their fleet. Two-thirds of all passenger planes were grounded and, by the middle of last year, 5,161 out of 28,674 planes in the world are still dormant, with Asia hosting the brunt of them. Estimates put 23% of all flights in Asia out of service due directly to China’s closure. But things have steadily improved, and by the end of last year, global air traffic was up from 41.7% of pre-pandemic numbers in 2021 to 68.5% in 2022. Though, looking at December 2022, while flight capacity was at 77.9% of 2019 levels worldwide, they were only at 59.8% in Asia, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) While there is massive demand to travel, a significant backlash has formed as flight prices have climbed to what many consider an unreasonable level. The overwhelming jump in demand was similar to that of cargo services during Covid when people were locked down, and prices soared. Add to that the huge spike in jet fuel prices, which rose by nearly 80% in 2022, and the costs of getting flight services reestablished, and you have a recipe for painfully high ticket prices. Experts believe prices will stay high until more planes can get up and running and the demand is no longer outpacing the available flights and seats. The additional cost of staffing to fill the shortage and fluctuating jet fuel prices may further hinder price easing. Some in the industry are predicting the price surge to last for two or even three years coming out of the pandemic. The only good news is that domestic flights have recovered more quickly and prices for flights within Thailand have recovered significantly. Meanwhile, Thai AirAsia says their international flight rates will be up 20% and average flight prices to China are up 50% all around. Flights from Europe are expected to remain above 40,000 baht, and flights from Japan are between 26,000 and 35,000.

    Laos Travel Guide

From Forbes Laos may be a landlocked country without a tropical coastline, but it makes up for it with stunning mountain scenery, lush rice paddies and the mighty Mekong River which runs through its territory. Still wild and largely untouched, it offers a fascinating array of cultural attractions, outdoor experiences and timeless charm. With its mix of Buddhist temples, colonial architecture and jungle fauna, Luang Prabang is one of the overlooked jewels of southeast Asia. First inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, its heritage has been preserved in time and its traditions remain an enduring attraction. It’s still common to see locals give alms to monks each morning around 6am: sticky rice, crackers or cookies given as an act of charity to monks who rely on these expressions of good will. Orange Robe Tours, one of many social enterprises in town, hires former Novices and Monks to lead tours around Luang Prabang. These culturally-immersive experiences provide unique insight into the life of a Buddhist monk, and help ease the transition from temple life to layperson life. The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) is another entity helping to preserve and share Laotian traditions with the public. Through its museum exhibits, education activities and livelihoods development programme, the TAEC educates visitors on the main ethnic groups of Laos, and empowers local communities to actively manage their own cultural heritage. Hard to say when (or even if) things will return to a pre-Covid normal. Will that stop me from booking another flight to BKK? Absolutely not!

  28. idea of keeping cash in the bags seems very progressive for me , I still opt for old fashioned money belt hidden in my undies, specially in crowded places. I can recall two exceptions though, one in Iran about 20 years ago when I exchanged 200 USD into rials and at that time highest denomination was 10000 rials and exchange rate 1:8100, that made for backpack full of money. Another one was slightly over year ago when I wanted to buy locally 2000-3000 baht to tidy me over on arrival and all they had was 20 baht notes. I took them all and goes without saying I did not have problem with small change throughout whole Dec 2021 trip

  29. I think we should recall - unfortunately - that it was the not Repulicans who insisted on covering up the male penis. As Michelangelo, Donatello and CellinI were creating their magnificent nudes, if I recall correctly it was the rigidly austere Pope Paul IV in the mid-1550s who decided that such statues in Catholic Churches might corrupt those who happened to see them. This decrepit, rigidly austere Pope elected when he was 79 decided that anything imoral had to go. Called by all who encountered him as "God's wrath incarnate," Paul was universally loathed. In his book "Vicars of Christ: The Dark Side of the Papacy", Peter de Rosa, an alumnus of the Gregorian University in Rome, says of Paul IV - "His massive head was shaped like Vesuvius in whose shaodow he was born. He, too, erupted without warning, spewing out destruction and death. His shaggy beard and craggy brow gave him a savage look; his cratered eyes, red and blotchy, shone like burning lava. His cracked voice, seldom free from catarrh, rolled and thundered, demanding instant, blind obedience." (Shades of Trump perhaps?) Paul in his dotage decided that dicks on male nudes in the Vatican were out and concrete fig leaves were in. Not to be too hard (oops) on the male figures, his decision quickly spread to all genitalia, buttocks and womens' breatsts - all the fun bits as one wag remarked. Paul's edict was eventually formalised at the Council of Trent's 1563 decree banning all "lasciviousness" in religious imagery, although I'm not sure how women's breasts evaded the ban. Popes who followed him were equally anti-dick. Fortunately Michelangelo's nudes in the Sistine Chapel's magnificent frescoes were not regarded as statues.

Actually, most prices are lower in S D than in tourist areas like Punta Cana and Puerto Plata. This also applies to rent guys (rates in Punta Cana are considerably more higher)

  39. I frequented the Yunomori near Phrom Phong back way back since 2015. There used to be some 'going-on's' happening in the toilet back when the cubicles weren't all blocked up. There were a lot of action happening in the urinals as well since obviously, you only have that small face towel to obscure your business. But mostly, the hot and youngish locals would normally go there to show off their goods, cruise, and then 'take-home' their pickings where it is more safe to play.. But now that scene has died down since the staff have become very strict in catching any hanky panky.... I've even witness a local and a tourist getting caught and shamed to death by the staff, telling they are going to be taken to the police. Alas, that onsen has just become a place to go to and really relax, and just enjoy the eye candies from all over the world visiting Bangkok

  42. Well, yeah, I ask all the time. Like you, over time, meaning well over a decade at this point, I’ve developed a preference for dates ending up outside the saunas — mainly because I don’t really like the suites and I don’t like clock-watching. And I just don’t find a whole lot of my preferred type who’d take your proposed deal at or around that rate. Even if you just throw in a nice meal, which we as clients consider an add-on not garotos, and then get to the meat of the matter (time spent at your apartment, plus sexy time), the bare minimum rate is going to definitely be more than a R $200 rate (right now, about what these kinds of guys are asking for 30-40 minutes inside the sauna). Some of them will accept a package rate that’s higher and includes all time spent, but some will want to start and stop the clock at all time spent — no matter if it’s just forks going in mouths, or dicks. Yeah, the type of garotos that you go after are never on my radar, either. I am fairly strict in my attraction, and almost never waver (because, thankfully, it’s not necessary in Brazil!). But your type of garotos approach me a lot, and some of my client buddies are into the same, so I know that the ones I’m into do like to place themselves in a (slightly) higher price tier than the “boy next door types” — most likely because it’s what the market will bear for them, not just an ego trip. I know only one (now former) sauna garoto who I deal with who would gladly take only R $200 for a night from me — but that always came with some complications. The rest are in a higher category — double, triple, and upwards. And to be honest, I’d feel some kind of way for only giving someone who is working for their living what amounts to $38 USD for a full night of their time.

  43. I don't think that people who watch Fox news could care less about the truth.

  46. Even if the full amount is awarded, it will not sway Fox to change it ways. They make many more billions off of the stupid and naive. The cost of this will not hurt them at all.

  48. well , we need to establish first what pretty means. You are correct I like axe murderer's faces but what makes you thinking they are not pretty , at least for those tired eyes ? What I wanted to point it's I look at guy's face first and if I like what I see other attributes are secondary

  49. Asking open ended questions are not a good idea, in my experience. Offering anything other than a standard amount, without knowing the quality of the service isn't good either. Some guys are happy with 1 programa minimum per night, others want to try to get more, if it seems the night will bear it. If you plan on taking the guy to a suite but want to chat and have some drinks, just say so. Most sitting with a customer are doing just that, for the price of a programa. My deal is, I don't like going to suites, I prefer in my apartment. I explain this and tell them they are welcome to sit with me but when we're ready to go, we go together, 200 reis in my room....sometimes we go to eat before or after. Some will try to walk around looking for another customer, others will stay sitting or go smoke with their friends or play Bingo on those nights. To answer your question, the guys you see sitting with someone are just trying to "close the deal"....they're not being paid extra 99% of the times.

Find old man into my life

It's not only in Asia also in South America. I developed serious relationship with 20 y.o. beutiful Colombian guy , I am always teasing him that he can find young beautiful local boy and will dump me eventually, he doesn't find it funny at all he thinks young guys are unfaithful, unpredictable and irresponsible. They can be good in bed but useless for serious long term relationship thus he prefer older person like me who can give him security and peace.
