Day 7 In the morning as usual I invited Sam for breakfast but he declined, feeling still his embraces I gave him 200 so he can buy himself something to eat on top of his LT fee. Rest of morning spent lazy walking in the area and catching up with e-mails and forum. I wanted to see guy in Jey Spa , one I saw in Sabaidee in Dec 2021 so contacted them by Line if he is available. Response was impressively immediate – picture and question ‘ this boy ?” . I asked about 3 pm, after presumably contacting guy in question Maii2 another fast response arrived, “ 1hr 950 in VIP room and tip 1500 “. I asked about 1.5 hr, my usual timeline. Again response immediate “ VIP room 1250 and tip 1800”. When I okayed they immediately sent location and picture but I responded I know where you are. Not my first time there. Not a cheapest place but I know them and did not expect anything else although I could shave 300 by asking for regular room . For reasons already explained I felt like treating myself though. So some light lunch in Foodland and BTs to Nana station from where I had leisurely 45 minutes stroll to Jey Spa in soi 43. Jey Spa doesn’t have a sign so is useful to have their address or contact them for location. To the left there are regular rooms and to the right with separate entrance, VIP ones where I belong today. There were few boys on duty and all presented themselves immediately but I disappointed them saying I’m already assigned. Soon my boy invited me to the room, luxury indeed, asked me to shower while he went to pick up presumably supplies and showered right after me. Goes without saying that procedure was clothing optional . massage was great , guy muscular and sweet at the same time. Too bad did not have much English but half way through I knew it’s not our last meeting this trip. I added 200 to his well deserved minimum tip and promised to see him soon. Happy, happy marched to BTS , then MRT to Lumpini station as we had dinner with Christian PFC in Lido in soi Sri Bumphen. Christian introduced place as Gaybutton most favorite Italian restaurant in Bangkok but let’s say it may be Gaybutton ‘s but certainly not mine. I found serving of my tortellini small but at big price. On another had apart from pizza at Madrid Tavern I’m not fan of Italian food anyways. We had a lot to talk about anyways and Christian gave me detailed description of logistics of getting to train market in Mae Klong since I resolved to go there one day of this trip. We parted ways at dark , I took motorsai to my hotel to refresh and shave before hitting bars. My boys are complaining about my apparently very coarse face hair so I make point of shaving before immersing in the night entertainment as one never knows. Drink with P at Hot Male beer bar and friendly chat with boys there. Since this trip I’m butterflying it was Moonlight from today’s rotation so I went there. Mamasan eyed me immediately and announced that while A , my muscle semi-god from there is absent he can bring him immediately and was somewhat puzzled that I resisted his proposal repeated numerous times. Even my usual ‘ I like girls’ did not seem to discourage him but my plan today was to take somebody new so I was chasing him away tirelessly. And I eyed # 28, new face to me and as I learned later new face to bar as he started only few days ago. Muscular with face on bit axe murderer side so as close to my ideal as they go. Motioned him from the scene and this time asked only if he goes with me without going into ST vs LT. He was bit hungry and I did not fill myself much at Lido so one of us suggested World Famous Foodland and off we went. I’m almost sure waiter suggested steak all the same like yesterday but he opted for something very modest and basic at less than 100 so first time in living memory my dish , you know what at 128 was more expensive than boy’s. In the room he did not waste time but took task to prove that my choice of guy was wise one. So we become quite active on the bat. So active that at one point I, exhausted, must fell asleep. Waked up in deep night in the darkened room but body beside was there. So he decided himself about staying LT . Great idea, so great that soon new round of gymnastics started. I start loving butterflying more and more.12 points

Update: the long weekend was great. We had fun. (I had fun) He did not want to go out and eat and just wanted to stay in the building and cook and swim and take photos. One of his photo got 50k views from my place. It was pretty fun for me to watch this as well. Sex is delightful. He is able to do things with his dick that most could only dream of. He took zero effort and did not want any money and wanted to treat me to dinner tonight. It was a very fun weekend. However, I am tired and sleepy. I can't keep up with the late night movie watching so I need to slowly find a way to trim that time back next weekend.6 points

Most of the guys providing services experience very complicated, stressful, and difficult lives—defined by grinding poverty and never ending financial obligations to the bottomless pit of very dysfunctional and often broken families. They generally lack the critical thinking skills that most Westerners experience as second nature. Very few of them actually like working as service providers despite the smiles, genuine affection, and good nature they so readily share. They will also not hesitate to completely reject you & your money, no matter the amount, if they don’t like you for whatever reason (e.g. fear of losing face, or loss of face, is by far the biggest driver). The interactions with the vast majority of their clients are opportunistic (and in real time) and a fleetingly brief transactional part of their lives. In my experience, this is generally an accurate profile of who you typically meet. They are young men without much direction, ability to plan, very poor father role models, and not much hope for the future. Of course, there are exceptions to this but they’re few & far between.6 points -

It's obvious that few friends who were privy to whole affair from beginning and those who commented above in the thread were / are right. Failure of the whole affair attests to that. Everybody was unanimous "cut him off" or " at this point I'd not invest any more money in him" (after that strange change flight request ) But me being stupid , did not listen and engineered my own disappointment. You guys were right and I was wrong . But it was nice to have such dream and hope and it's why I still smile, specially in view rest of trip was rewarding, thank you very much. It will be small setback but I'd say , included in price. At this moment problem of second chance is very academic. Due to personal circumstances this year 2023 is BIG question mark for me. No, I'm not in trouble but life got in the way. Chances are that out of 4 planned times I wish I could travel to Thailand (May, July , Oct and Dec ) this year none will materialize. And truth is it's not even in my control. I understand very well advices quoted above and I don't have any plans to even try to contact my Cambodian Charming Prince again. But if he would, chances are , even knowing what I know now and rich in your advices and comments I will try again. Definitely I wouldn't even try to arrange for foreign trip again, that's sure thing. Not unless I'd spend at least few days and night with guy in question, not CCP but any guy. That lesson was absorbed. But I get some explanation I'd could buy or apologies I'd find sincere I may fall into that trap of meeting him again. May be for dinner, may be for overnight, one step at the time, watching my back, yes. I too am believer in giving 2nd or even 3rd chances, again repeat case of Tawan boy , my best and 2nd worst off ever 2 years apart. And very fresh case of Handsome Cambodian described above yesterday. CCP disappointed me , milked me of some money but it's not a case of Stockholm syndrom, I did not suffer any harm. May be I would but I was careful enough to steer myself into safe waters.6 points -

One evening I arranged to meet a guy who had given me a few massages during the proceeding week. He appeared on time at the designated meeting place (outside the Raya) at midnight. Things generally went well but there were some awkward moments. He slept soundly over night but declined invitation for breakfast. When we parted I was sure that was the beginning and the end of the affair. As I reflected on the evening over breakfast, I was puzzled. We had gotten along really well in his shop, laughing easily and feeling anything but awkward. But he was on his home turf then. I concluded perhaps he had been burned before by a farang he had met. Nevertheless, I tried to put him out of my mind. It was only a few days later when I passed his shop again and he was among the guys standing outside with menus in their hand. He beamed a smile at me and we chatted for less than a minute before we went inside for our third session. Everything went well. His English was almost non-existent at the time so as I was trying unsuccessfully to ask him a question as we walked out later he gestured to a coworker to act as interpreter. "You want to meet me after work tonight" was turned into Thai and the reply was a vigorous nod of his head and huge smile. So as much as I believe Vinapu's prince charming doesn't deserve another chance, I'm reminded that had I denied it to my masseur, I would have missed out on seven of the happiest years of my life. We remain together to this day.6 points -
Hi all, I came across this really interesting video on YouTube about the history and future plans of the Bangkok mass transit system. I really like seeing this sort of stuff. Seems like every time I come to Bangkok, more new stations are opening up which is great! Hopefully all the planned routes eventuate. I much prefer this method of transport whilst visiting Bangkok (when I manage to venture out of Silom that is..)5 points

all I know we only know about them as much as they told us. The same works other way. I personally am not that critical and as reader pointed , I see young men who are trying to make living using assets they have i.e themselves and their good looks. some are quite uplifting like one of my semi-regulars , single father who use to proudly point 'I don't have girlfriend but i have a son" Other one , also mentioned often in my reports was orphaned my mother in his childhood ( my friend who also offed him overheard him mumbling to himself ' mom help me", quite moving ) and later father was killed by Thai police. Yet still managed to built a house in his native village, whatever it is he calls a house. Personally when I think about them I avoid generalizations. Not all are poor or coming from poor backround. I know about 4 who have a car. One has small business, other one owns a condo. few , judging but how they speak English have quite extensive education. By no means they are prevailing examples but they do exist. One who has steady job but paying only 10200 per month freely admits he goes with clients for easy money. Sleepless night bringing him 3000 it's almost 1/3 of his monthly take after all The same applies to us, their clients. Our motivations to engage in the world of paid sex half world from home are very different and sometimes not even clear to ourselves I suspect. Some like Asians, some like sex far from home, some like to avoid any commitments (old saying 'most expensive sex is free one). It will be sex addicts and those who treat sex as vacation adventure. And it will be those like me who fruitlessly search for dream guy who can be offed for hand holding session only. Such dream guys are existing but it seems heat of the moment always derails hand holding only part.4 points

Hi Guys, Its been a hot minute since I've been here, but just wanted to post a quick comment about THIS topic. I posted on the OTHER site as jjkkrkwood, but its been about a year now that I walked away after being BANNED for commenting in a post on children and GUN legislation. The BAN was for talking about children. WTF ??? how can that be avoided when the topic is gun control and kids dying in schools ? Anyway, after the Ban was lifted, BEFORE I could be allowed back, I had to sign a proclamation that I AGREED I WAS WRONG in posting and wont do it again.... Since I didnt see it that way, I offered them my finger and never looked back. But before that I had become disgusted with the degeneration of that forum, what they allowed to be posted and seemed to SUPPORT, and the people they were tossing out for pushing back against the lunatic ring-wing fringe members and election deniers. I didnt care that they had their own views but they were aggressive and in attack mode all the time, and were ALLOWED to say a lot of shit that other members were being tossed for. So.............. as far as the Q connection, it never crossed my mind since I know many of the current mods and I would NEVER believe that of any of them.... But ya never really do know people, DO YA ???? Well it is nice speaking to ya'll again, and enjoy your Sunday/Funday. (A special Hi to my lover /sister Stevenkesslar)4 points

My experience has been quite the opposite. While the majority I don't expect to see again, I find many others (in Bangkok, at least) to be agreeable young men simply trying to make a life for themselves. Most come from other ASEAN countries. They often talk of their families and "dysfunctional" is hardly a word that comes to mind.4 points -

that made me recalling my awkward moments with two different , well rehearsed guys few trips apart. Scenarios were identical, they gladly went with me but in the room started to behave strangely . First guy was brave , I asked him "what is wrong " and answer was clear cut " you did not brush your teeth" . Second time was easier, I recalled that situation from year or two before and run to the washroom. All went well after. Now whenever I have guy in the room I brush my teeth and rinse with Listerine BEFORE we even shower. ........... I agree with you about not deserving part, I'm not as much upset as offended for taking me that lightly. I have feeling I deserve better, at least some explanation or at minimum ' no, good bye ". But also for me whole thing is mystery I'm intrigued with and if I have chance to shed some light on it I will try .4 points -

Thanks vinapu for the full report! Ive been busy to continue my own report but cant miss reading yours hehe. I am a firm believer of giving guys 2nd or 3rd chance, especially when i really like the guy, or i heard good reviews/report from others. Very recently, I made an appointment with a guy from grindr, and i agree to his rate without negotiation, and set a time. He wasnt responsive when i texted near the set time, and i waited for him a while, went around to find something to eat, then back. He finally replied saying he is otw back from eating. Anyway, i told him im still around the area and he said he can meet. I waited again, and still slow response. Just when im about to give up, i texted him again, for one last time, and he finally asked me where i am. Its basically an hour after our set time to meet. Normally, i would be fuming. But i really like his picture and he also got good reviews, so i decided to give him his chance to prove that he is worth his rate. When we finally met, he told me what happened, which to me, doesnt really matter much since i really like what i see lol. Back in his room, all goes really well. Very passionate and does pretty much everything i wanted. Definitely worth all the trouble. All is forgiven indeed. And i did this for someone ive never met, and only saw his pic from grindr. Its a rare find for me, and given my pickiness, might be a while before i find this type and quality again, so im glad i gave him another chance. My current regular masseur, who is a very skillful massage, muscular, and great body to body skills as well, and willing to do certain things i like, but not all since he is straight. My first experience with him was below average. The massage was great but he stays clothed and the happy ending was really bad. Looking back, it was my hesistance on what kind of after services i wanted was the issue, as he has certain price for HJ, or more. Anyway, i did take him again and ask for more than just HJ for a price, and he certainly deliver! Now, i trust vinapu's taste and type are similar with me, so if im in his shoes, id probably wouldve given CCP another chance. But, it would be very unlikely for me to take a leap of faith and plan a trip without even slept with the guy. My logic has always been at least a few overnights before i even think of a trip together. Sending money, also wouldve been very rare for me, and only for someone who ive had been with plenty of time. But, i have to admit, ive yet found a bar guy, who despite a good fun time in bar, refused to go with me back to my hotel and then texted me months later he is ready to go with me. Its in human nature when we are told no, the more we want it lol. I had one experience with a masseur at regular massage place who let me touch him and we exchange line. And when i asked if he is interested to go to my room, he says no, indirectly. If this guy suddenly texted me he finally agree to meet me in hotel, id probably do something similar lol. Too bad, he no longer work there and probably change his line and we lost contact.3 points -
Should Biden run again. And, if not, what's Plan B?
Marc in Calif and one other reacted to stevenkesslar for a topic
This was actually the last thread I started on Company of Men before the political forum involuntarily retired. (Maybe that answers my question about Biden? 🤫 ) So I thought it would be interesting to see how it goes here. Since a few of you already posted on this question over there, I also added the second part about Plan B. A lot of Biden supporters or sympathizers said he's a great guy. But his age is showing. So it's time for him to move on. Speaking as a Democrat, that begs a big question. How do we avoid electing Trump II, or Culture Warrior in Chief Ron DeSantis? My answer was, and is, YES. Biden should run again. I'll list three reasons. First, it increases the odds that we won't elect Trump or some other Culture Warrior In Chief. Some people think it's voodoo. But I overweight Alan Lichtman's Keys to the Presidency. It's a system he developed with a leading Russian seismologist geared toward using mostly objective data to detect patterns which help predict earthquakes - in this case, political earthquakes. Since 1984 he has guessed the winner of every Presidential election correctly, and months in advance. The other key component of his system is that he believes voters are smart. They make decisions based on things that matter: the economy, war and peace, major accomplishments, leadership, big scandals. So having the power of the incumbency and avoiding an intraparty brawl are two of the 13 things that help determine victory. He says once you lose six of these 13 keys, you're done. So this takes away two keys from the Democrats. Incumbency, for sure. And if Biden does not run, there will likely be a party nomination fight that could be very divisive. Second, the most likely outcome no matter what happens is Kamala becomes the new leader to face Don or Ron. Which is what lots of Democrats are afraid of. If you leave Biden out, the polls show she's the preference of up to 1 in 3 Democrats. The next tier - usually Sanders and Secretary Pete - are far behind. Like maybe 10 %. So who knows what will happen. But if Biden steps aside, the most likely outcome is she replaces him. On the other hand, if Biden/Harris wins and he dies of a heart attack in 2016, she replaces him. On the other hand, if they both serve out a second term, she'll run to replace him. All roads seem to lead to Kamala. Under any of these circumstances, I'm fine with her leading when the time comes. That said, like many Democrats, I'd rather not risk it now. We do know that in the last century there were six contested nominations in the party that held the Presidency. In all six cases, most recently Bush in 1992, that party lost. So it would definitely be better for Biden to step aside than to be forced out in a primary, like LBJ was. Third, I'm not sure I even understand the logic. Yes, he's old. If he were clearly senile, or a joke like George Santos, that would matter. But the idea among at least some Democrats goes like this. "You've won all these bipartisan legislative victories and done a great job. But you're too old." The first statement kind of disproves the second. With Ukraine, even moreso. Age - aka experience and relationships - did put Biden in a position to build a global coalition I don't think Trump, or someone younger like Kamala or Secretary Pete, could have built. The biggest fear is that Biden will lose us the 2024 elections. Like Trump lost lots of 2022 races for his election denying partners in crime. But if that's the fear, didn't Biden just help pull a rabbit out of a hat? Obama, who was younger and dynamic, lost 63 House seats in his first midterm. Biden lost 14, and gained a handful of Senate and Governor seats. One poll showed that, among Democrats, about half want Biden to run, about a quarter are not sure, and about a quarter are against him running. I think it's a given that, if he steps aside, anyone running to replace him will be less popular. And have less experience. How does that make winning in 2024 easier? I've never bought the idea that Biden was the only Democrat who could beat Trump in 2020. To go back to Lichtman, he says Presidential races are thumbs up or thumbs down votes on the party in power. Trump was going to lose, anyway, he said. So if we wanted someone else to lead the charge, 2020 was the time to fight that out. We did. And Biden won. A lot of this depends on your assumptions about other BIG THINGS THAT MATTER. If we're in a deep recession in Fall 2024 and Putin has won in Ukraine in a way that makes Biden look like a weak loser, Lichtman's system says Biden would probably have at least six keys against him, anyway. Which is enough to lose. If the economy and stock market are booming, and Putin lost or is barely holding on in Ukraine, Lichtman's system could suggest the Democrats have enough going for them to win, anyway. Then a younger President than Biden - presumably Harris, but maybe not - could win in 2024 and run as the incumbent in 2028. But his key point would be that losing an incumbent and inviting an internal party fight is simply not going to help, at best. At worst, it hands the Presidency back to Trump. Or the other Florida Culture Warrior In Chief. Should Biden run? And if he does step aside, what's the Plan B for the Democrats to keep the Presidency?2 points -
From The Thaiger Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok’s global gateway, plans to increase services to deal with the influx of arriving passengers. Thailand saw a swift surge in travellers after China’s recent decision to reopen its borders. The Airports of Thailand (AoT) announced Friday that the measures will help tackle delays in passenger servicing time, particularly during peak hours. They say they have already begun to improve service flow. The airport’s director said Suvarnabhumi received complaints about luggage claim delays from around 30 flights per day last month. It seems bad, but in December roughly 50 flights per day received delayed baggage complaints. This month continued the trend with delays reported in just 7% of daily flights, which is equivalent to approximately 15 to 20 flights per day. Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob ordered the Immigration Bureau to increase its capacity to handle incoming passengers on February 8. The AoT has responded to the minister’s order by developing a range of plans to reduce delays and ease passenger congestion. These measures have been divided into short-term and long-term problem-solving solutions. For short-term problem-solving, the airport’s ground handling operators, THAI Ground (TG) and Bangkok Flight Services (BFS), are recruiting additional staff and acquiring more equipment to manage the spike in passenger numbers. In the longer term, AoT is looking to add a third ground handling operator. Any addition would have to be approved by the Cabinet first. Suvarnabhumi Airport will add more automatic passport checkpoints and pre-immigration kiosks. It will temporarily expand the period for carriers to provide self-handling services as well. The new priority zone and VOA checking area at the Satellite 1 building will also be expanded and are set to open in September. To help reduce congestion at passport-checking areas, the AoT plans to install auto passport checkpoint channels. The move to help outbound travellers with e-passports would be completed in November. The AoT has also addressed the shortage of taxi services at the airport by registering 3,909 taxis for service. The number of taxis will soon be increased to 4,500, according to Suvarnabhumi Airport’s director. The airport authorities also plan to develop the space between the passenger terminal and the Concourse D building. A reception hall for arriving passengers and those with visas on arrival (VOAs) will be constructed. They expect to provide the service for 2,000 inbound passengers and 400 people with VOAs every hour. The AoT says the second phase of the airport’s long-term solution to congestion problems is still being created. Construction is set to begin in November, though.2 points

'Don’t want to live in Yangon anymore'

From Channel News Asia By Pichayada Promchertchoo BANGKOK: Myoe has no plan to go back to his homeland in Myanmar. A coup d’etat two years ago has thrown his country into turmoil and filled his future with uncertainty. The raging civil war, persecution of dissidents and economic crisis made it hard for him to keep hoping that things would get better. The return of democracy began to feel like a distant dream as the weeks and months went by. Sad and dejected, the 37-year-old quit his job in the telecommunication sector. He said goodbye to his family in Yangon and moved to Bangkok in March last year. “I'm very excited and enjoying it even though I'm stressed every day because I'm freelancing with no fixed income,” he told CNA. Life in a foreign country is challenging for Myoe, who cannot speak Thai and has no regular income or work permit. He has to constantly fret over whether he can pay his rent on time, while searching for job opportunities that would allow him to work legally in Thailand. Still, he prefers it to returning home, where his future prospects seem bleak under military rule. Many Myanmar people share his view. There are signs that the country is suffering from a brain drain as professionals relocated overseas after the military under army chief Min Aung Hliang seized power on Feb 1, 2021. Day 8 When parting in the morning I upped his tip by savings on his meal last night and even pointed it to him. Hope word spreads that it pays not to be too glutenous. At 9 am met farang friend in café near Mahanakhon, we had talk till 11 and resolved to go to train market after tomorrow , agreed to meet at Wongwian Yai station in time for 10.40 train. Then I had mission as I got suspicion from combing Grindr that one on my best guy ever, certain M from Senso is working as hairdresser in one of shops in Rama IX Central. So jumped on MRT and soon was combing that sizable mall in search of hairdresser shops. Unfortunately did not spot him, perhaps too early , or his day off or whatever. Will try next time in Bangkok as I don’t give up on him easily. Being in area went to Ratchada train market but it was too early and shops were closed but walking there I found 10 baht coin so at least my efforts paid of. Next step was to have massage at new shop of 9-Teen in soi 6 with guy who was resident masseur in Tawan last year , now task taken by Mas , their resident twink. New shop is quite impressive, well designed and everything smells new. Word is that massage is proper , just like Prime around the corner without any sinister moves. Let’s say I decline comment on that , I liked my massage session only conclusion was bit unnerving since my guy wanted higher tip than I offered. I succumbed to request but it will be while before he will see me if at all. As much as I like Tawan and their boys , I built reputation there as handy money dispenser. I know it’s my fault but it starts hurting me so perhaps it’s time to switch that pain to guys and show them that greed is not good for their financial health. But that’s for future as that massage reminded me that this trip I did not go to Tawan yet so resolved to pay them a visit tonight. But first a dinner, this time in G”Bangkok in soi 4 . they have one fusion German -Thai dish in casserole I like so much. Don’t remember name of it but on the page where they list fusion servings that’s the one in the very bottom. Next step was my daily drink with P at Hot Male and after a while there I walked to Tawan. It was nice to be greeted by all those smiles and handshakes, less nice to fend off all those palms stretched for tips. Today my tips were reserved for performers in the show but yes , I bought drinks for 3 guys sitting with me including K and B whom I offed few times in the past. I was bit surprised , K’s cousin waitress in Happy Beer did not spy on me as he was not aware I’m in Bangkok. I always admire Thai discretion. Show as always was quite brave and very modern including not one but two special shows and usual JO competition so I dispensed 9 red notes for their efforts. K remembered that in Dec on his birthday I promised him to buy him whisky so I decided to off him tonight, invited him for a dinner in 7.5 stars and just before deadline bought him a bottle of wine as he asked for such substitution. And then to hotel for activities like knitting , stamp collection rearrangement and world peace discussions.2 points

QAnon Connection to "Company of Men"

This thread discussed further back the no-hijacking rule over at the other site and also discussed the recent thread being locked. I just looked at that thread. The OP wanted to discuss hiring straight escorts. Sadly, members chose to be triggered by it rather than focusing on what the OP wanted to discuss. One can see where that ended up. Generally there are enough scatterbrained members alone as well as those that have zero empathy (let's talk about everything I know and fuck all what you want) that the "no-hijacking" rule was a worthy guideline. I used to try steering back to the OP to help out. I guess I have at least an ounce of empathy. But I was one of the boycotters last year and like Sukrates did, I ultimately dropped off that Forum. I spend the time that I used to burn over there by listening to political blogs on YouTube such as Bryan Tyler Cohen; Ben Meisales on MidasTouch; and a lesser known but very clever guy from NYC David Feldman. If not for David Feldman I wouldn't know Ann Coulter's term for Nicky Haley, "BabyCakes". But back to the OP, I agree with NYNakedTop, that forum was fertile ground for members coming from conspiracy sites to spread QAnon (and Kremlin IMO) talking points. What good does it do to engage them? Little or none.2 points -

I have never loved Biden but I do think he is OK. He has never gotten me excited. But, I do know that the last election, he was the best hope the Democrats had for winning. I can't think of anyone who could successfully replace him. But, they always find someone. Trump is the unknown factor and the one that troubles me. His support is wild but many will lean toward Biden, and I'm not sure if those in his party would switch sides for Harris. Pete should have a bigger role in this administration. That would have propped him up for a run and perhaps why they didn't do that. For some reasons Democrats like to pass the baton instead of going for who would win the most support. If that is the case, Harris is the likely nominee. I really liked the Castro brothers in the last cycle.2 points

Should Biden run again. And, if not, what's Plan B?
Marc in Calif reacted to stevenkesslar for a topic
I lived and organized in Portland in the 1990's and part of the 00's. But by 2002 I'd transitioned to being a real whore, rather a political one. And I was living in San Francisco most of the time. Oregon is beautiful. I was a Warren fan boy in 2020. But I voted for Sanders in the California primary. Because by that time it was clear Elizabeth was toast. One of the truly unfathomable things ever to happen in Presidential politics is that Biden won the primaries in Massachusetts and Minnesota in 2020. Even though he basically had no money or organizing there. And home state Senators Warren and Klobuchar were also on the ballot. I viewed that as a spontaneous tidal wave in US politics about what center-leaning Democrats and Independents wanted, and did not want. That said, my vote for Sanders was essentially saying, "Lean left, Joe. Lean progressive." Which I think he has. He is certainly acting and talking more progressive than Reagan Era Joe Biden. Part of my reluctance about redoing the 2020 primary is I don't see what changes. If Biden runs, and there is a primary, I think he wins. If he does not run, Harris wins - which many people think is exactly the problem. Warren in polls is now at like 10 %. Behind Harris and Sanders and about where Pete is. So I don't see the point of having a primary that could be divisive, just so we can end up where we started. The talking heads love the idea of (pick a name like Polis or Whitmer or Newsom) running. And if Biden were clearly demented and the Democrats lost 60 house seats and the Senate in the midterms, all those Guvs might be running. But now they've all said they are NOT running. Whitmer just said she is grateful to Biden for creating the political environment where Democrats like her are winning in their states. Which, by the way, suggests Biden still has his skill set of reading the national tea leaves and unifying his party intact. I strongly agree with @lookin that having a POTUS that unifies rather than divides is important. That said, I don't think any President can really unify America right now. I view Trump as symptom, not cause. Biden is at least trying. His mostly unifying and populist messages during the SOTU address - pointed in part at the disgruntled White working class, but also at Black Moms who want their kids to come home safe at night - worked for me. You frame the question differently than I would. And for the way you are framing it, the conclusion makes sense. You frame it as a choice election. So the idea that Biden looks old and tired next to DeSantis makes sense. That said, I'm starting to wonder whether Ron will simply come off as a mean or even extreme culture warrior in 2024, if nominated. The Florida polls suggests people think he managed the hurricane well - like over 70 % approve of that. And they tend to agree with how he managed the Florida economy during COVID - like well over 50 % approval and around his winning 2022 vote total. There is no evidence in polls that he won in a landslide because Floridians want culture war. And how he managed the hurricane or COVID won't really matter outside Florida in 2024. So I don't buy the idea that Republicans are really better off with him. Besides, as of now Trump beats him in most Republican primary polls. My Plan A is that Trump wins the primary in a divided field with his base vote intact, just like in 2016. I frame the election the way Lichtman frames all Presidential elections. Which is that they are a referendum on Biden and the Democrats. His basic argument is that Americans give the person and party in power a thumbs up or thumbs down. He'd argue in 2020 Trump was going to lose anyway. Had Warren been nominated, his system argues she would have won as well. Speaking of Alan, coincidentally I just happened to read this article yesterday: Data says: Democrats need Biden to run for a second term It's interesting that someone other than Lichtman is writing an op/ed that is essentially all about Lichtman's keys system. But pundits have apparently caught on that if it helps predict every Presidential election since 1984 correctly, and in advance, maybe there is something to it. And it makes common sense. The basic idea is that voters are smart. And in the past, when there were these similar situations - like a recession, or a war, or an impeachment scandal - here is how it played out in terms of who won. The framing in that article is an interesting way to put it. Because the basic idea is that Biden or Democrats can afford to lose five keys. So they need eight of 13 keys to win. The author spells out the seven keys Biden/Harris appear to have locked up for 2024. So that statement I quoted above suggests that if the short-term economy is strong in Fall 2024, a Democrat other than the incumbent could win. The strong short term economy provides the eighth key. Except, it doesn't. Because one of the eight keys the author counts is the lack of a primary fight. But if Biden does NOT run, there will be a 2024 primary fight. So as the author lays it out, Biden and Harris are likely down four keys now. Biden not running would add two more: losing an incumbent, and gaining a primary fight. In that situation, Lichtman would argue Democrats will lose. And it doesn't really matter whether Republicans run Trump or DeSantis. On the other hand, if you assume that Biden wins some military victory in Ukraine, and the economy is good, and there is no big scandal other than whining about Hunter, the keys would favor any Democrat to win. Even if Biden does not head the ticket. The main point I think Lichtman would make about the bed wetting by pundits about Biden is that they are simply wrong. US history tells us being an incumbent is always an asset. Period. Now, add that the incumbent has dementia, and that's different. But then the issue is dementia. Not being the incumbent. Lichtman gets lots of pot shots sent his way. But, to me, the system he developed with a Russian seismologist (who was fascinated by US democracy) is almost common sense. But also built on sound statistical principles. He trusts voters, not pundits or pollsters. We know that the polls that said in 1983 that Mondale would win in a landslide and 60 % of Americans didn't want Reagan to run again did not do a very good job of actually predicting what would happen in November 1984. Lichtman says US history suggests voters are pretty good at sorting through multiple variables that really matter. Like: it's the economy stupid.1 point -
What Biden brings to the party is a sense of inclusiveness and in the Trump era I think there's nothing more important. Trump and DeSantis are in a perpetual state of war and have no problem pitting us Americans against one another. We really can't survive a long-term diet of divisiveness. So I'm for whoever can get elected and continue a process of healing. I'm impressed that Biden has steadfastly focused on things that are good for the majority of Americans, with a particular emphasis on those who need a helping hand the most. Although it's too soon for me to pick a candidate, he's the guy I'll vote for until someone more compassionate and more inclusive comes along. Biden's biggest liability, in my opinion, is Kamala Harris. She's not a unifier and I would not be happy seeing her as President. There may be other Democrats who are not anathema to Independent voters. I don't have the polling research but I expect such a one exists. Our divisiveness is best reflected in the pure party-line votes of recent years and that needs to change. Biden has a reputation for at least trying to reach across the aisle. I'd go so far as suggesting he consider a moderate socially progressive Republican as his running mate, unless the Senate looks like a 50/50 split. Whoever can bring us back from the war on one another will get my vote. And I think Biden has been more effective at bringing folks together that anyone else currently in the running. If it weren't for the overriding need for inclusivity and healing, and we could afford a full-on progressive candidate, I've got a handful of folks I'd like to see enter the Democratic primary: Clinton (so sue me, but she did win the popular vote) and Sanders and Newsom among them. But there is an overriding need to pull together and Biden understands that in his bones.1 point

to get to heaven people can wait a bit longer, no? But on serious note , yes sometimes one may have bad luck of arriving at time when 4-5 big planes land one right after another. I could see it when arrived from Phnom Penh when realatvely quiet corridors all of the sudden started swelling from few corners. Departure procedure could be simplified to get away with all that picture and fingers scan taking. USA , Canada and I believe Mexico don't have any immigration on departure, one just checks-in, goes through security and is free to board outbound plane. It means if one checks in at home and has carry-on only , security is only step to take.1 point

Bogota - February 2023
Alaskabear reacted to tassojunior for a topic
imho: The good looking guys are all in Medellin but don't speak much English and Sauna Tobi's long gone, RIP. But they do give a 50% discount. You may want to add a quick rt from BOG there. Ask anyone in Bogota and they'll tell you the people in Medellin are much better looking and Medellín has sunshine, a rarity in Bogota. But it's one of the world's largest cities. Half the guys on Chaterbate are in Medellin and you can usually arrange meetings. Some may really be in Bogota, IDK. Bogota has much more easy action but the guys are "real pros" for the most part, especially in the massage parlor saunas. Somehow 100K in English translates into 200K in Spanish. IDK. The Holiday Inn Express is a very nice hotel on the north end of the gay district on the main street. Hotels in the gay district can be a lot less than "nice". Personally I stay in the downtown high rise hotels because their taxis are cheap and reliable (as opposed to many on the street). It's also close to the museums and easy for a taxi ride up that mountain. *Do not miss the Gold Museum whatever*. And the Botero museum is excellent and has his collection of famous art given to him as a fellow artist by the best artists.1 point -

Cambodian mystery and Thai solution - first trip of 2023

I have no doubt he realizes unless he assessed me as cheat and lost hope that I will pay him anything but that's highly unlikely in view that after all I send him some advance money, right ? All I know is that all money I had aside for him I spent on other guys including his bar friend and I'm happy I did. I also received his picture and I'm truly glad he looks much better than when we met at the airport. Perhpas whole experience worked like bucket of cold water for him. It would be similar to what I had in October when Handsome Cambodian taken to BKK for 4 days dumped me after 1 night over dispute related to excessive phone use forfeiting 12000 . Two weeks later when I saw him he admitted that realisation of his hotheadedness and loss created caused short depression and when I offed him , he was changed man indeed. In few days we will meet him again, ( report in due course ) and he was even more hot and charming. Does it mean there's hope for me for another try at CCP ? LOL1 point -

Update: the overnight was great. We got along fabulously and watched a movie, cooked dinner together, and good massage (me to him), we went swimming two times, and just had a fun time. Night was very good. He works and had to go back to work after one night, but next week will take 2 days off together and spend the entire weekend with me. Yesterday, I got a nice Valentine's Day gift from him. So, so far, things are progressing nicely.1 point

Thank you, forrestreid. I'm quite immodest, actually, but I was sort of waiting for a moment when someone might ask a question or two about Bali, and then I reply saying here's a bit of a resource. I should add that Bali has to be taken on its own terms, and not assumed to be another Thailand. By that I mean that certain kinds of services or fun readily available in Thailand might prove harder to find in Bali. There are no gogo bars where you can buy boys off the stage, for example. Another thing I am conscious of is that my taste skews quite differently from others. I like massages, and it's important to me that the massage is good, and not just a prelude to sex. Others don't really care about massage and want to get straight to the sex (some of my own personal friends have that preference too). Since getting straight to sex is not what I want, it's therefore not something I would have investigated, so if someone asked me if that's possible or available, I really wouldn't know. Then there are others more interested in app hookups, or boyfriend hunting. To them, I have to apologise in advance. These pursuits not being my taste, I have nothing to report that's of any use. Given how limited my posts will be in terms of usefulness, I didn't think they merited any advertising. Over the next few weeks, the opening posts on my blog will be followed by reviews of each of the six massage parlours I visited, and of five restaurants where I ordered Indonesian food. I won't bother to review western food. In his mention of Banana Spa, @TMax was referring to this post: Lomi-lomi heaven1 point -

Banana spa is a name I know from the past and it's good to see they are still going, I had visited that spa 3 times previously (pre covid) and all 3 visits were mid afternoon, on each visit there was only 4 boys to choose from. All 3 visits were 2hr massage and scrubs and they did a very good job on the massage, quite strong and just enough touching in the right spots to indicate extras were on offer. The first 2 times the boys were both bottoms and gave fantastic lip service for afters and at a good price (🤗). The last visit the boy was top but unfortunately he really wanted a price I thought was way too high (almost 3 times what the other 2 asked for, guess he thought he was the star of the spa) and he wouldn't budge at all which was such a pity as he had a very nice body and a gorgeous cock, nowdays I probably would have relented and agreed to his price.1 point -

Brazil trip
Half-vaccinated reacted to Alaskabear for a topic
I’ve got a debt of gratitude to all my fellow forum posters. The knowledge and tales you’ve shared have really been helpful. I’ll try not to bore you with unnecessary details but I’d like to share my experience in this first trip to Brazil To start, I’m glad I even got here. With omicron seemingly everywhere I was concerned about getting a negative test for the flight. Equally concerning is traveling with so many flight cancellations left and right. To recap what others have said, I needed proof of vaccine, a negative Covid test within 72 hours (PCR test) or an antigen test within 24 hours, a health document filled out and printed within 24 hours as well. The entire process was smooth on American Airlines part and when I arrived at passport control in Rio he just causally glanced at my vaccine card but didn’t ask for any other documents. I haven’t traveled internationally in a couple of years and I feel rusty. I didn’t account for my flight arriving at 730 am and my Airbnb wouldn’t be ready till 3pm. So I ended up booking a hotel room in Copacabana. I should have booked the entire previous day to ensure my room was ready. But it’s all good. I took Uber from the airport. One curiosity I’ve had to learn (at least from the airport context) is communication with your driver prior to pickup. They need confirmation or something via text. There was miscommunication and I had a few drivers drop the transaction until a lovely lady picked me up. Uber prices are cheap so I went “upscale” and booked Uber black because it was apparent the moment I exited the doors that winter was behind me and I needed air conditioning. For what it’s worth my Uber black car was just a non old Honda Civic. Perfectly capable and acceptable for the price though. Despite the relatively mild temps, the humidity here is killing me. It will take a few days to adjust to the weather. But it feels good to be back in a real city. The vibe on the street at first appears to be really relaxed and chill. And my god, Every third guy is my type of guy. Splitting my time between working in Alaska and holidays at home in Ohio with my family, I encounter very few gay guys and very few that are my type. I took a long long nap once I got my room and decided to check out Pointe tonight for a little bit. Let me tell you, it’s like paradise. There were two dozen guys that easily fall within my type there and I really tried not to bite on the first guy that came around. It was kind of overwhelming and I’m positive I stuck out like crazy. I didn’t change into sauna attire as I wasn’t going to be out late tonight but I’ll probably partake in the whole experience tomorrow. I tell you what I find really endearing, all of the guys seem to be very sincere. I know that of course it’s a market setting and that transactions are the goal, but I cant help but be enamored by the gentle yet masculine spirits I encountered. It’s just really nice. I hooked up with a super cute guy from Salvador and it was money and time well spent. Like most of the guys there he had a very nice dick and was a wonderful kisser. I’m telling you all, this is a Las Vegas buffet but for handsome guys with big dicks. The three guys I talked to the most asked from 150-200. My guy wanted 150 and I added a 50 tip on top of that. It was a good experience. My lack of Portuguese is a negative though. I used translation apps to eeek out a conversation but it’s awkward. This might be a wonderful excuse to spend a few months here taking language classes in my off season. In many ways today was a reminder of why I love to travel. Being in new cultures far from home, away from the normal comforts you cultivate in your home county is a challenge. It’ll take a few days or a week to get back into my travel mode life. Especially after our winters of Covid discontent. I’m going to end this here because a guy named Lucca just wrote me on Grindr. You can’t say no to a guy named Lucca.1 point -
