I arrived in Zag at 21:50; was told the show starts at 22:30; decided to take a 2nd look at the massage places. Anyway, back to the boys. Given the noise level, it was impossible to really engage anyone as they huddled close to the ear of one patron or another. All I wanted was to get a wtsp/line nmbr. However, I m not at my best in the wee small hours, so I let it drop. Nvrtheless, I had a great time, the format being so dfrnt from Pattaya, and the boys - much more appealing. The next night, per Emiel's inspiration, I went to G bar. It's much smaller; the cabaret - good but less so than Zag's; max 20 patrons cmprd to at least 80. Again there was a 15 mnts volume overlap. Just as those of us who have recently traveled to Thailand, we're all too familiar with inflation in our home countries. Guys we meet--or become reacquainted with from earlier trips--are likewise dealing with rising costs. As Vinapu observes, they're making decisions on how they can compensate by raising their fees. And why not? Aren't we receiving salary increases for the services we provide. We always reserve the right to reject their asking price if we feel it's far out of whack. I think that's what I like about massage shops. We get a choice of service provider. If there's no minimum price in effect, we're free to negotiate in advance or tip at the end. In the majority of shops in Silom (with notable exceptions) the latter arrangement applies, particularly those on Silom Soi 6 where I had many very satisfactory experiences. For the moment, there's something for everybody in Thailand. If you want a show and a parade of guys, they're available. Host bars also exist and of course there's always the apps. Sure, there are other destinations but I don't believe they can provide choices in such abundance.

Am I reading this correctly? They are charging 1500 just to take a boy off? And then 1500-2000 for the boy after paying that fee? In other words around 3000 baht for a short time off? While the start of high season has bought a large number of new faces (tourists) wondering around Jomtien Complex, a majority of people sitting in the complex are expats, at least from my observations of the last week or so. I would estimate 60/40. Speaking for myself and the majority of my friends, when we are in the complex we sit as a group of expats. Occasionally there will be a boyfriend with one or two of us, but not always. What is normally the case is in a bar nearby, our boys are having their own fun with their friends. When I see a guy sitting alone in a bar, it's very rarely someone I recognise as an expat. I normally assume it's a tourist looking for a boy to go sit with. Few expats go to Jomtien Complex to pay bar fines and take boys. That's generally a tourist activity. Speaking personally, I'm an afternoon person. The evening is for dinner and drinks. I would say that it's quite easy to get into a conversation with other expats even as a tourist, you just need to pick the right bar, and know your tribe. If you are British, go to @home bar and chat to someone at Zacks table. If you are Australian, go meet Rob at Cocka2 Bar. He will talk your ear off and be happy to meet you, and introduce you to everyone else there. German? Go to Dolce Vita. Swiss, BuBu Bar, Flemish/Dutch, Doubleshot, ect ect. Most expats prefer to talk in their native language, understandably. As for "making friends"... That will take time. Most expats have quite close-nit groups of friends and not always open to "new people". It's sad to say but there are some very dodgy people around Pattaya. I guess anything worth doing takes time.

I finished binge watching Choco Milk Shake on Sunday. The acting is really fantastic. The premise is that the cute boy in the middle is just drifting through life and is lonely. Peter RS raises a good question about how the uncovered entrances will compensate of accumulating rain water. I can appreciate the aesthetic desire to keep the entrances as low-profile and unobtrusive in this historical area so I have to assume they took that into consideration in the initial engineering designs. There's VERY little udated on Phuket in this Thailand section, and the last sex thread in the Business-Phuket section is 7 months old. It will also help to better understand my two forthcoming reports. So here it is: In evening it was time to head to Paradise Complex to see what's left from the gay area. In one street good old Zag Club is still there, even bigger than before. Next to it is G Club. Both have drag shows that you can watch while sitting on their terraces. As they do the show on the street. Zag later continues their show inside. It was very busy at Zag. Between their shows the crowd in dancing and flirting. With some shirtless staff joining in. Crowd is a good mix of falang, Asian, young and older. Everybody enjoying themself and each other... Very good and nice atmosphere. There are two other smaller bars in the street but they actually didn't have any customers when I passed by. The good old boat bar went bankrupt and is gone. The owner of Zag Club bought most of the buildings on the street. To avoid any competition coming in. Some of the buildings he is owning are already empty for many years. For example: Zag is suppose to do their street show until 10pm after which G Club can start theirs, to try to get also some customers in. But Zag just continues their street show till way after 10pm, giving G Club less fair chance to take some business. The bars are next to each other, so they can't do street show at same time because music will reverberate disturbingly. Because of the dominant presence of Zag, that club was full of people while G club only had handful customers on the terrace. If you're coming to Phuket I would suggest to also support the business in G Club a bit and don't forgot to also sit down at their terrace for a drink. If only for the cute and young owner / manager. Their streetshow will start as soon as Zag take theirs inside. In the road parallel of the bar street, there are a few gay massage places. Will check them out later. With no go go bars being re-opened (yet), to get some fun in Phuket you have to scroll the apps, venture to the massage shops or just flirt with boys you like in the nightlife. Also, this is a GREAT response to OldDaddy's previous post when he questioned, "What do expat retirees who live in Jomtien do beside staring at the beach from their condo balcony". Implying that we would get bored. I am now here 3 months and I can attest that there is always something to go and see and do, and there is little time to be bored. And yes, I do also cherish my time sitting on my condo balcony staring at the vastness of the beautiful sea.

Others who were detained on Friday include Kaili’s husband Francesco Giorgi, who works as an aide to Italian MEP Andrea Cozzolino, as well as her father, Alexandros Kailis. They also include Luca Visentini, chief of the International Trade Union Confederation and Pier Antonio Panzeri, a former member of the European parliament, per the Times. The identity of the sixth individual is not known. From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Last month’s commencement of twice-daily Azur Air charter flights from eleven Russian cities, including Siberia, to U-tapao Airport (near Pattaya) has outpaced all expectations. The provincial airport is processing nearly 5,000 Russian arrivals weekly. These flights are in addition to popular Aeroflot routes from Moscow and other urban centers to Bangkok and Phuket as well as multiple connecting flights from and to the Middle East. Just under one and a half million Russians visited Thailand in pre-pandemic 2019 and many travel experts expect to reach or beat that annual figure as early as January 2023. At least a third will be heading to Pattaya where there are lengthy daily queues at the over-busy immigration bureau to register a local address, extend a holiday stay or seek other services. The neighboring photocopying unit has recently hired more staff to cope with the extra demand. There are many signs that the latest Russian arrivals in Pattaya have different expectations from their predecessors. Mikhail Nazarenko, who runs a Walking Street bar attracting mostly Russian imbibers, said, “Some are tourists anxious for a two-weeks sunshine break from Putin’s grim regime, but others are looking to the long haul including some draft dodgers too.” He cited airline reports that the charter flights to U-tapao are always full, but the return journeys have some vacant seats. There is also substantial Russian interest in long-term visas, such as Elite which offers a five year, multiple-entry stay in return for an initial cash payment of 600,000 baht (about US$18,000), or annual renewals based on retirement or marriage. Their primary function is to do that, which they do pretty well, and to entertain, rather than to be offed. They could choose not to be offed at all, but work on tips from drinking with customers when not performing. I would say that on my recent trip a couple of nights in Zag were great fun. The place really creates a great party atmosphere and the staff, performers and waiters are a big part of that. As 12is12 advised, it is more a gay dance club, thai style with groups standing around tables, where a mix of people go to have fun rather than necessarily hook up, although being a gay club there is also a good chance of that from the other customers, some of whom are freelancers. I stayed in bangkok 2 weeks in November and 1 week in December, at the Ibis Style Silom (close to CP Tower, 2 min to go to Silom soi 6 massage shops, 5 min to go to Silom soi 4, great great location). At Ibis Style, no problem to have joiners, they just ignore what you are doing. And this new hotel is packed with gay tourists, many koreans. Can be cruisy between visiting guests contacting each other on Gindr... At 2100 bahts per night, it is a great place to go IMO.

Don’t lose it as tickets are being checked One inconvenience of buying ticket is that office is not located anywhere near the temples and requires detour but there’s bright spot – tickets can be bought at Banteai Srei temple. My apologies to those who think sightseeing part was too long but certainly there are members and readers here who never been to Angkor so I wanted to give than some idea what they missed. Contrary to what one may think I was not templed out when flying out of Siem Reap to Bangkok after 10 days in Cambodia , 7 of which spent at Siem Reap. I could easily spend another week there not only because there were still plenty temples to visit but also quite a few boys at 168Massage to try. Oh, well there’s always next time.
