Hello from Foodland Patpong! Up early. Arrived in Bangkok yesterday afternoon and staying in Le Meridien for 2 weeks until Christmas. It was kind of fun, food was delivered by robots, tasted great but portions were not that big and I had suspicions that I was only one in our gang who left table feeling kind of full. The only time I was there it was filled with Japanese dads and grandpas and little kids, as well as other Japanese tourists. There was also a smattering of uncomfortable-looking locals. I'd say my Japanese boyfriend and I were in a tiny minority of gay guests. I found the place to be extremely uncomfortable as all the dads, grandpas and little kids kept staring at me. I can't imagine customers going there and wanting to be stared at. And the facility was too small to accommodate the crowd it had attracted. I couldn't find a bath to dip into to get all the eyes off my junk. I felt like I was being singled out. I don't think I would have enjoyed that kind of attention if I were at a gay sauna. Plus, unlike Japanese hot springs, or even those in Beitou, on the outskirts of Taipei, the water didn't leave my skin feeling soft and youthful, but rather dry and chlorinated. It was an all-around awful experience.

As one who loves attending hot springs in Japan and Taiwan, I have always meant to try the Yunomori Spa on Suk Soi 26. So far I have never done so but hope to change that very soon. The baths area is segregated and entrance is 550 baht. Not cheap for those used to gay sauanas and looking for sex. But Taiwanese friends of mine went there at the end of last month and very much enjoyed the facilities. Which is normal for me on vacations as I follow logic that less time is wasted on sleep, more disposable vacation time I have. Unfortunately with age I start having problem of sticking to my own rules. Plane from Siem Reap to Don Muang was almost full , luckily two out of very few free seats left were in my row , not that it mattered much in 45 minutes flight. Immigration was breeze with nobody in lines and since I travel with carry-on it was no more than 15 minutes from leaving aircraft when I was in arrival hall extending my SIM card ( 249 baht for 8 days ) and marching toward SRT Red line station. On my way I stopped in “Thai street food” stalls in corridor between station and airport and for lack of chicken with cashew nuts offering I had roasted duck with rice for 65 baht. There they still use coupon system, they same like is similar venue at Swampy. One needs to check price of desired dish and purchase proper amount in coupons or alternatively estimate it and unused portion is easily refundable. Dom Muang SRT Red line station Electric train was fast , clean and uncrowded. In Bang Sue station I switched to MRT and went all the way to San Yam station from where it was short walk to Raya. There have been quite a number of posts in the last couple of years or more about boys from the apps not looking like their photos. I think this is a geat idea - in principle. My concern is that the entrance in the photo has no cover. To incorporate one would require the sides to be more than a little higher. During heavy monsoon rains, a considerable amount of water is going to pour down directly on to those escalators. I have no idea where it will drain to, but I hope there is no chance some will find its way to the wiring or power sources. Or could it lead to a build-up of water on the walkways? Hopefully someone has considered that and incoorpated solutions. It reminds me of the time when the first lines of Taipei's then relatively new subway system had recently opened. Its entrances were not high enough to stop flooding from very severe typhoons and the system had to be closed down for some time. Entrances were then all elevated allowing for several steps up from sidewalks.

Straight to check in and shortly I was in the air, after about 36 hours there ending my 23rd trip, shortest ever but not boy deprived, leaving Thailand forever (until next time of course)

Sorry guys I kept this thread neglected for good while busy doing nothing i. e. travelling. So if you recall I had unexpected reunion with boy not seen many years.
