Jomtien Complex - Supertown is compact: 4 short streets, connected by 3 L-shaped turns, excluding the 2 bigger streets on its rims. Better understood by viewing the map just posted bu bkk (B). It boasts about 30 bars, 9 massage parlors, 10 cafes/rstrnts, and 4 main hotels. In the longest and main part, a roof covers the pedestrian street/lane (as shown in the photos below). That's where the main noisy action is, 20:00-02:00. 3-4 bars hold cabaret performances, the most impressive is Venue's. Walking along parlors or bars, boys approach with "hello mister, u want massage / sit / drink.... ?". Some here have dscrbd this as a hassle, to b avoided sometimes by taking shortcuts. Although I found next to no one offable (most being effiminate or twinkish or not my taste), during my 6 nights there I didnt feel annoyed by them. Au contraire; I always answered "no thank u", and/or shaked my head for "no". If they came closer to engage, I bantered with them; when they took my hand or touched me, I used the opportunity to caress them. Though by the third day they prbbly understood I wont b tempted, they persisted and it was just fine by me. Indeed, once when I was at Delice buying cookies, I bought some extras, and offered them to the massage boys in front of Soda and the 2 parlors close by. They were pleasantly surprised. As I checked into Agate, I started recieving apps solicitations from 1-200 mtrs away. Given there r at least 300 guys working around there, I later wondered why only a miniscule nmbr of them use apps to market themselves. As mentioned in my 3rd rprt I prefer the apps method, so all my meetings were cooked this way. I went into bars 4 times. The 1st was Venue; they got my attention bcs of the cabaret. I sat, watched, didnt see any offable staff, and rspndd to apps messages. The show was not as good as BBB's, but certainly enjoyable (though repetitive). After an hour+ a match clicked in grindr, so I retired to my hotel room. The other 3 bar visits were at Double Shot, which rate a rprt by itself. Two things surprised me. 1. Most farangs were sitting by themselves, pairs or groups. Very few were sitting with boy, usually in silence and looking bored. Depite intense people watching I didnt see even one instance of what would look like an off. 2. There's no erotica / horniness in the air, despite sex persumably being uppermost in the minds of most present. Didnt see any farang lust or any temptatious boy. Or maybe I dont know how to read.... I liked Jomtien Supertown; the concept, the atmosphere, people watching (boys and cstmrs). Doing that with B was an added value bcs he is such an expert watcher. (-:7 points

Post-covid crowds did not arrive yet so it was quite pleasant , even at Angkor Wat there was no problem to climb to the highest accessible level , usually restricted to max 100 people. (5 years ago I was told 2 hours wait , 21 years ago nobody was counting or even watching ) post-covid morning crowd at Angkor Wat steps to highest level and view from there Nice surprise was extension of ticket’s validity, 3 day ticket at 62$ till end of 2022 is valid 5 days of consecutive 7 instead of just three. 7 day ticket costing 72 $ is extended to 10 days out of 30. Don’t lose it as tickets are being checked One inconvenience of buying ticket is that office is not located anywhere near the temples and requires detour but there’s bright spot – tickets can be bought at Banteai Srei temple. My apologies to those who think sightseeing part was too long but certainly there are members and readers here who never been to Angkor so I wanted to give than some idea what they missed. Contrary to what one may think I was not templed out when flying out of Siem Reap to Bangkok after 10 days in Cambodia , 7 of which spent at Siem Reap. I could easily spend another week there not only because there were still plenty temples to visit but also quite a few boys at 168Massage to try. Oh, well there’s always next time. Perhaps even that hunk from Space Hair bar will be willing to go with me to Siem Reap, lol7 points

I spent a lot of time in two most important -Bayon and Angor Wat and did bit hair rising walk along the walls of Angkor Thom (city with Bayon at the centre ), which is my favorite part of every Siem Reap visit. Why hair rising ? it’s always very quiet and at least three people on the way including one policeman told me ‘ be careful about the snakes “. I did not see any but made a point to watch anyways. Snakes or not , I still recommend that walk to everybody and wall is surprisingly well preserved with ruins of temple at each corner and two gates ( West and East ) very rarely visited apart from three (Victory, North and South )where tourist transit goes through. It’s flat but long as each side is about 3 km long for 12 km total so make sure to carry water , some snacks and umbrella and of course in case of snake encounter ,the will. Bayon Western Gate from inside the walls, then from outside them and how is seen from the walls themselves moat and the walls6 points

On our way back I visited Banteai Srei temple, smallest of Angkor temples but intricately carved and it was good idea as she is always crowded but in the afternoon , hour before closing there were only few people there . Going back we stopped in so called sugar village to purchase jar of palm sugar Banteai Srei below Rest sightseeing on other 4 days was done by tuk-tuk , Kompong Pluk village on stilts on Tonle Sap lake and numerous temples list of which is like litany : Prasat Kravan, Pre Rup, Banteai Kdei, Banteai Samre ( my favorite , always empty as it’s bit off way ) , Neak Pean , Ta Som , Preah Khan. I climbed Bakheng but did not stay for sunset, crowds were already gathering for spectacle as it’s one of most popular spots far that. Kompong Pluk on our way to Komplong Pluk , on temple grounds I noticed village crematorium which my driver cheerfully called ' oven'6 points

Rio Nov and Dec 2022 Observations and advice
Mavica and 3 others reacted to HiThereAll for a topic
Hello All: On another trip into Rio now, have also been a digital nomad from here part of the time. Internet seems better than pre COVID. When Bolsonaro lost the election in November, like Trump in the US, lots of lying and unlike the US, lots of street "issues", mostly shows of support more than any bad trouble. Tons of police followed to ensure the peace. During the World Cup (FIFA) Brazil matches the town seems to close during the actual match, even supermarkets and drug stores. Perhaps true country wide. When Brazil lost to Croatia, the town seemed to deflate, at least until the Argentina match an hour later ! So, I assume things will normalize here during matches again. When given a chance, the locals are very nice. More than once I have miscounted my R$ bills and extra bills have always been returned. When dropping things out of torn supermarket bags, folks always let me know. I do speak some PT and SP – it helps a great deal. However, I am in no way conversant in PT. I meet several new people each day even if in a line or over a drink. Folks are very friendly here. To allow anonymity, I will not mention names. I met someone who I believe has posted here. From far away. Super nice and speaks more PT than me. Suggested an apt vs hotel and to try staying someplace besides Copa. Great advice. Someone else suggested Leblon, and it is indeed much nicer than Copa. En francais, plus sympa et chic. Yes, it is more expensive. But in sheer Euros, Pounds (Europe’s new “Peso”), or Dollars, not a great increase in costs. Yes, less overall to do as well, but not many people sleeping on the street or begging either. The bars are more like in Europe, so yes, less authentic Brazilian. On and off over the past weeks the Boys (GPs) and selection have varied greatly. I made mistakes by not asking for their contact info. That said, I do enjoy having different GPs each time. Busy times tend to be later than noted on some postings. Perhaps due to FIFA games. 1930 hrs has often been a good time. Best times I have noted: Tues at 177, Weds at 201/202, Fri at 117, usually good after FIFA matches or 1800-2100 hrs (when shows start). Compared to prior trips (pre COVID) fewer younger guys on Grindr, Hunqz and such. The cdn.garotocomlocal.com.br website and telechapero website can help fill needs as well. I have not used them, but the GPs are very hot. As for gay bars, there are several just to the west of the Arcos do Lapa. Rua Riachuelo, Rock Experience (or similar name) has a gay night sometimes. A bit further NW on Ave. Mem de Sa are several gay bars (obvious walking by). After MN and perhaps best at 0200 hrs. I did not enter, as many hanging out outside the clubs seemed to be groups of friends and my PT is not that good. In Copa to the south, is LaCueva, R Miguel Lemos 51. I had fun last Saturday night. Rumor has it there are some younger guys who like older guys there and at Rock Experience. I did not enter the latter. At La Cueva the age range was 50+ to old embalming fluid for most customers. There were a few guys perhaps 35-45 yrs old with their daddies. Not a pick up bar from my 1 night’s experience. I danced by myself to videos from the late 70s to 90s. Cover that night was 50R$ and included 2 drinks, not just crap beer. Fair price. Music was not too loud. Uber at 2am from Lapa to LaCueva was under 20 R$, and it is a long trip, 15 minutes I think. The Week (party club) occurs Saturday night, Sunday at 2-5 am in centro. I did not go. I am not 25 anymore and my 6 pack is long gone. But if I spoke better PT I might have gone. In the daytime, there are 2 places for play. Cinelandia, in a back alley next to the RJ City Admin offices, R Alvaro Alvim, west side: one is called Sexy Rose and has cabins and some gay porn, plus dark room. Total mix of folks, young, old, BR and foreigners, etc. Trannies are rare. No pay for play that I ever noted. Just to the south, about 2 doors down in the alley is a cinema showing straight porn. No obvious sign that I could tell. Like an old West End Theatre or movie house from a hundred years ago, but you cannot tell this from the street. Older guys and some younger guys. Younger can be free to do. Some are pay to play, 20-50R$. Several trannies sometimes. I find both to be enormously fun sometimes. You never know, but I have met folks for future stuff at the Rose more than once. Multiple BJs and multiple anal encounters almost always possible, even on weekends. I start at the cine for an hour and move to the Rose to finish (Start at noon / 1300 hrs, and leave the Rose around 1600 hrs). Then eat, then 117 – which for me is a long walking distance away. Might not be the style for others. When I cum I still often go to the GP places to follow. Grindr: I seem to do better when near centro or in Gloria than in Copa these days. LOL. Not so many 20-25 yr old guys now vs pre COVID. Meet at their place. Yes, I know, always an element of risk. Security and ATM cards: I feel pretty safe. I do not drink much and with my looks I could be mistaken for a local until I speak much. I can speak a few works of PT in most situations, same as a local. My dress is well sort of crappy when I am out and about here, but I think the locals know I am not BR. If I hear footsteps behind me, I do turn and look the others in the eye, but not in a nasty way. I also keep to streets with others in them at night. No guarantee of safety though. Always have ATM issues abroad. Call your bank, etc before leaving on a trip to give a travel alert, always have more than 1 card on you and at least one left in your room. ATMs like at the M stations often have fees added. Some banks reimburse these costs. Some do not. My cards work only at some BR bank ATMs and not others. Always decline any attempt from the ATM or POS device for a currency conversion. In BR it will cost you 8-15% - and for nothing – just a bank rip off. When I go to 117 or 201/202, I always try to have over 500 in cash on me in case I get too horny. I often see punters paying the house bill by cc or debit card. Yes, the drink prices are not inexpensive. I often buy a drink for me and the GP before or after a programma. In BR always let a business know if your card is debit or credito in advance. Tapping the card reader almost always works. Yes, there often a conversion fee from your bank or cc company. It could be as low as 1%. Experience has taught me the best cards to use abroad. Use lots of sunblock at the beach – better to be a bit un tanned than being burned !! If anyone on the forums is in Rio now, feel free to say hello Ciao !!4 points -
Kokopelli, I know how the system works. All I wrote was: 1) They werent MY taste, which of course doesnt disparage either their looks or others' tastes. 2) I didnt see anyone "walking down the soi with a farang", which surprised me. I expected it to b a common sight.4 points

Many thanks for the great photos and the fond memeories they bring back. Anyone visiting Thailand should make a trip to see the beautiful Khmer temples along the border with Cambodia. And a special trip to Siem Reap to visit Ankor Wat and the other stunning temples there. Well worth the days and guides for the trips!!4 points

I arrived in Thailand for the first time 20 years ago on a Northwest Airlines 747, landing at Don Mueang. Could believe what I saw out the window: a golf course running between the parallel runways! I think there are few readers who haven't flown the 747 at least once in their lifetime. From National Public Radio The very last 747 jet has been made, ending a run of more than 50 years The jet transformed an industry, bringing luxurious amenities and lengthy nonstop flights to the masses — all in a design that was both enormous and elegant. But the reign of the mighty 747 has ended, and Boeing says the last plane left its assembly line this week, after 54 years of production. "For more than half a century, tens of thousands of dedicated Boeing employees have designed and built this magnificent airplane that has truly changed the world," Kim Smith, Boeing's vice president and general manager of the 747 and 767 programs, said as the company announced the end of production. Since production of the 747 began in 1967, Boeing says, 1,574 of the airplanes were built. It started carrying commercial passengers in January 1970, when Pan Am used a 747 for a flight from New York to London. The huge jet that shrank the world The 747 was a hit at the Paris Air Show in 1969, and more than two dozen airlines raced to put the airliner into service, luring travelers with the 747's promise of comfort and unprecedented range. People in the U.S. suddenly had an appealing option to visit Hawaii — which was then a very young state. And cities around the world became more interconnected by direct flights. The huge plane was touted as a win for middle-class travelers, under the idea that airline prices would become more affordable if carriers could fit more people onto a single flight. But that dynamic changed in later years, as the aviation industry saw a growing preference for smaller, more fuel-efficient planes and less focus on crowded, hub-to-hub flights. The 747's star has been dimming — U.S. carriers phased it out in 2017 — but it had another moment in 2020, when a British Airways 747, aided by strong winds, traveled from New York to London in 4 hours, 56 minutes, setting a new record for the fastest subsonic commercial flight across the Atlantic. 4th report on Pattaya: Jomtien Complex - Supertown
Vessey and 2 others reacted to kokopelli3 for a topic
There is much to comment regarding your post; I will try a little. You said there were none that were offable, but all of them are available to off, although you did say for yourself. What is effeminate or twinkish to you can be desirable to someone else. Like you said, the boys do try to entice you into the bars with their banter, but then do not sit with the customer, that is true. All one has to do is ask them to sit and they will do so immediately. If they do sit with you, buy them a drink and give them a tip of 100 Baht. If you like them then a bigger tip is appropriate. Many farang like to sit with friends and chat and often don't want a boy to sit with them. But then the right boy appears and that can change quickly. I often see boys being offed as I enjoy my drink; you will see them walking down the soi with a farang which means he has offed them. Another poster bkkmfj asked about meeting other farangs. That is not easy! Most farang I know are wary regarding meeting others, for better or worse. It can be a tricky situation at times. There really are so many odd balls out there! Best way is at some sort of gathering where one can chat a bit but such gatherings are not common. It has taken me years to develop relationships with others and usually through friends of friends. Being polite and asking some simple questions may help in meeting others. Getting to know one person is a good start and go from there. I doubt that a bar crawl would draw much of a response. And regarding alcohol, many farang are sparse drinkers if at all while others can't get enough. Double Shot was mentioned as having horniness in the air! The boys there are straight and can be offed for 500 Baht, but how they perform is anyone's guess. I never got a direct report on what happens and am looking forward to that report. Hope that these comments will be of some help.3 points -

and as a result you earned some Thai, "jai dee", merit with the guys - because 2 of them told me - wow - that falang is so nice he gave us some cookies.... You reminded me of one of our many conversations on how the guys could up-market themselves. One idea is if they could have QR codes on their person - so as they walk by we can snap their QR code and learn more about them, where they work in the Complex, and how to contact them. For us "shy guys" this would be a great way to expand our guy experience(s). As you know, I am a new retiree here - and I have reached out to many fellow falang retirees here and only very few have reacted to meeting up. Most just replied, "sounds like a good idea - I will contact you" - and then weeks and months pass and nothing happens. I believe that the established falang groups are content as they are and are not looking for any new entries. For those sitting alone night after night - I do not know why? It would be great if the people who manage the https://www.gaysupertown.com/ website could organize 1 time per month a meetup and/or bar crawl within the Complex, where the newbies can meet the already established falangs to break the ice and to create some possible new friendships. I know that over in Pattaya in the heterosexual world they often organize bar crawls in Soi Buakhao where the newbies can meet the residents to have a good time and make new friends. I am not aware that there is any such equivalent in the gay communities here in Jomtien and Pattaya. I will wait to respond to this until you post the Double Shot portion of this trip report - as there was definitely horniness in the air!!!!!!!!3 points -
actually now it's easy as road is paved all the way. When I was in Cambodia first time , back in 2001 and asked about trip there all I got was know on the forehead, there was no passable road to Anlong Veng and not only mines but also remnants of Khmer Rouge remained danger there. Now all you need is to hire car or join a tour if you find one running. Then underneath the mountain is visitor center where you buy motorbike ticket for 10$ ot you can rent a car for 20$ to take you up to the temple. Road up the mountain is very steep at places so ride is exciting . Then all one needs to do is just walk around, it's pretty vast area. Monumental Staircase is what you probably climbed from Thai side, entry from Cambodian side is on top of staircase right by so called Gopura VII. pictures below, stairs and Gopura VII3 points

As for fun available in Siem Reap now I found 3 massage places ( Men’s resort, Gecko and 168 massage ) and one bar , Barcode. And of course Grindr worked there as well ( I don’t use other apps for now , perhaps in future I will ). Massage at Men’s was very professional, costly at 26$ for 1.50 hrs session and it was just that , very good massage , no extra’s. May be I was again not brave enough to signal or masseur was not interested in any of that , anyways this reflected my previous experience there few years ago. Saying that they must be popular as day before I went there around 8 pm and was told all guys are busy and there’s 1 hour wait involved. Gecko massage is located on main street leading from Old Market and is of mixed staff but guy there I asked for massage knew his job very well, ahem, and I had very pleasant time there and with him , massage 15$ for 1.5 hr, tip twice as much , bit high but he caught me in heat of the moment with request. Anyways I’m not one to haggle about 5 $ or even 10$ . My headquarters when comes to guys was 168 Massage, I found it on my first night when I went to check if Hatha Khmer is still there , it turned out it was replaced by 168. It’s on side street by roundabout past Old market. Massage 10 $ ( 40000 riels) , min tip 20 $ ( 80 000 riels). I went there six evenings in row, my all there with exception of first. Each time had different guy but experience was uniformly great with good massage and ample extras. Guys congregate behind glass and curtain, similar to old Hero experience in BKK, all rather guy next door to hunky types, exactly what I like. I tipped each uniformly 100 000 riels (25$ ), well deserved. Funniest was third encounter on Wednesday ( I was there Sunday to Sunday ), mamasan told me they my chosen one just started today and I’m his first customer. Which was no doubt truth as he was so excited that upon entry to the room where I laid already ready for oil massage i.e. naked he did not bother to close door. He did when I pointed there. After that all went very well, he knew how to massage, who cares about door closing skills. And was not shy at all. I developed evening routine there, after massage I had banana pancake on the corner and then through Pub Street I went to Barcode bar. There were two days of exception as at that time at least bar was not open every day and was closed I guess Mon and Wed (please confirm if you are there ) . There’s no longer any gay oriented bar on Pub Str, no harm done as street was extremely noisy so all I did every night it was just fast stroll through. Other gone venue was Barcode massage and I say it with bleeding hear as my last time there 5 years ago I got great guy from there who accompany me on trip to Prasat Bakan (most remote from all Angkor temples, called also Preah Khan Kompong Svay ) and was tasked with warning my bed almost nightly. Barcode has continuous show for good 3 hours , alternating resident dancers with resident ladyboys. Audience is mixed , I saw elderly couples , your girls alone and in company but everybody behaved, no screaming girls infesting some Pattaya and Bangkok bars. Few very handsome waiters and on my first night at departure I tipped one of them whole 5$ hoping next day he will remember me. Such sophisticated plot worked as indeed next time he greeted me as soon as I showed up and after few complements from me about his handsomeness we arranged for visit in my room after hours. It involved some drama as initially he declined, only to Line me later that he changed his mind. Sweet taste of dollar denominated tip I guess. He was one who forced me to wake up receptionist at Men’s. I was hoping for repeat during day next day but it did not work for him for some reason. There was another guy encounter earlier, on my first night at Barcode I recognized guy I saw previously on Grindr and he was one who draw my attention there with nice face and built. In flesh face was as nice but he turned out to be more diminutive than I imagined which did not stop me from glancing toward him until he noticed and showed empty chair beside him. He had drink already, we exchanged Line with promise of future contact. Future was closer than I imagined as I got message from him as soon as he left bar. Question was ‘ what hotel you are staying ? ” . Only looking stupid I knew what it means so my answer was “ Royal Crown, do you want to see my room ? “ to an answer : “ yes, tonight ? “ and that being me next question was ‘ How much?”. We met in front of hotel and I had very good time , I even asked about long time option but he declined as he was supposed to go to work in the morning. Not only good looking but also smart and good conversationalist. I don’t think he liked me that much though , not only because that declined long time but also when he saw me at bar o subsequent nights he did not make any effort to approach me which I don’t hold against him as he was obviously popular with younger patrons, he, he.3 points -

Rio Nov and Dec 2022 Observations and advice

Humor: Well, in the great cold north we have heard of places where the ocean meets the land and has sand. Average water temps are often very cold in the North. To go to this mythical warm water place called the “beach” the Great Spirit invented Ibiza, Jamaica, Mykonos, Mexico, Sydney, and of course, Rio. To get to these places something called “Economy Class”, aka steerage was also invented. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away…. In the Pacific NW we have heard of this thing called sunshine, but locally it is often simply a rumor. See the picture below of a nice day in Vancouver. Without high-speed film you missed the ray of sunlight. LOL. (see pic below) Remember, we do not tan, we rust !! In the Pacific NW (rainforest from Portland, OR, to Seattle, WA, to Vancouver BC, and up to Alaska) we have the biggest blood suckers anywhere, the fabled Moose-Quito: (see pic below)2 points -

Good times in Pattaya and Silom Soi 2
TotallyOz and one other reacted to BiggusDikkus for a topic
I'm just returning from a really good trip to Thailand. In fact, it was surprisingly good, and there are three main reasons for this: 1. I took some advice from several forum members who replied to a question I posted on this thread three months ago: I wanted to know which of the three ED drugs is least likely to bring on headaches. Basically the advice was to try all three, then choose the one that helped the most and hurt the least. I had been using Viagra for years and putting up with increasingly severe headaches. I did some online research and decided to try Cialis first. Those years I spent using Viagra? I always bought some Thai-made generic pills from a little drugstore tucked next to a corner of the Emporium shopping mall. A box of four 100mg pills cost 280 baht. That was really cheap, I thought, which is one reason I kept going back to that store. So ... let's ask how much generic Cialis is. Uh-oh. Wasted trip. My favorite recreational drug store did not make it through the pandemic. I obviously wasn't the only tourist keeping it in business. So I'll return to the gayborhood and over-pay for my pills, I thought. But finding an affordable option turned out to be, well, impossible. The first place that said they had Cialis was the counter inside the UNESCO World Heritage site on Patpong. How much, I asked. "2,500 baht," came the response. Man, that's a lot more than 280 baht, I thought. The price was for a box of four 20mg tablets. After an exhaustive search of a wide area from Surawong well past Sathorn, I spent 1,000 baht on a 4-pack of generic Cialis. Still a lot more than 280 baht. After some more online research I decided to start off with half a pill. The results? Corpora Cavernosa Magnifico! A triumph of youthful proportions! And no headache whatsoever! 2. There were a lot of cuties in Pattaya. I almost never find the slender-but-well-defined type of twink I'm looking for when I go to Pattaya and always end up leaving two days after arriving. But this time there was a veritable smorgasbord. The selection of eager bottoms combined with my soaring confidence, youthful vigor and porn-star-like stamina -- all chemically generated, of course -- made me feel like I was Justin Bieber on an anonymous trip to Brazil. All of the hotties wanted me to fuck them. At least that's what it seemed like. You know how Pattaya is. I had fun in both Boyz Town, even though it is a sad shadow of what it once was, and in Jomtien, where there is a real buzz of excitement in the air. I will definitely make Pattaya a larger part of my Thailand itineraries from here on out. 3. The renovation of Silom Soi 2. This is where DJ Station is, and DJ Station still seems to be the major attraction. It used to be my happy place. I couldn't get enough of its vibe, of the hot, hard, bronze-skinned bodies who would take off their shirts, jump on the stage and sensually gyrate to the music as if they couldn't get enough attention. The first floor was like heaven, but of a multilevel heaven that was even more of a paradise on the second floor, where Southeast Asia's cutest twinks used to hang out, eager to start conversations with Westerners. I am not a drag fan but I even loved the DJ Station drag show that would start at 11:30 every night. The headline performer had the ability to be hilarious even to people who do not speak Thai. Finally, I always loved the music in DJ Station, often finding myself on that previously mentioned stage without my shirt. I would always feel let down when the lights would come on announcing closing time. But DJ Station lost its vibe sometime around 2008. The hot young Thais just stopped showing up, it seemed. So did the second-floor twinks. And the place was getting old. The stench of urine was almost everywhere. Eventually, I kind of wrote off DJ Station and found other reasons to go to Thailand, like the SK Party during Songkran and the White Party during New Year's. If I was in town at some other time of year, I'd wait in my hotel until late, then go to G.O.D. because I knew DJ Station would be a disappointment. But DJ Station is back, baby! The entire soi has been given a face lift. Now there are no walls or doors to any of the clubs. They are all open-air. In DJ Station, the gyrating, bronze-skinned boys are back and so are the twinks eager to start conversations on an expanded second floor. It was Saturday night. Well, Sunday morning, really, as I didn't get to DJ until well after midnight, and all the locals were already chatting up the tourists. No matter. I was enjoying the party-like-its-2007 vibe and just happy to be there. Eventually, right before 2, I decided to head back to my hotel, but I was waylaid before I got to the door by an adorable young man who made me guess his age. If we were not in a place that checked IDs, I would have guessed 18. It turns out he was more than a decade older than that. He didn't mind when I told him my age. We talked, and when the lights came on, he and his friends invited me to an after-hours club I had never heard of called Sake. We were in a taxi for at least a half hour, it seemed, trying to get around numerous police barricades to wherever it was we were going. When we finally got there, I had no idea where we were, what part of Bangkok we were in. Sake turned out to be a straight Thai-style nightclub where groups of friends stand around tables after ordering a bottle of whiskey and mixers. A run-of-the-mill, industrial-looking after-hours club, except for one super cute boy on the other side of the space who kept checking me out. Why? Because I'm the only white person in the club? Because I'm with someone almost half my age? And where am I again? Is this a gay-mix party? The new vibe that one boy was giving off definitely made me wonder. But there was a stage, more of a runway, in the middle of the bar that a lot of straight couple were jumping onto and showing off their moves. So, yeh, I'm in a straight bar. My new friend who took me to Sake (pronounced like the Japanese rice wine) didn't seem to mind this other kid checking me out. In fact, when the guy walked by our table, my new friend stopped him and began caressing him, then encouraging me to do likewise. Soon enough this boy's shirt was off and the caressing did not stop. His hands also found their way into my jeans as he wanted to check out my size. I kind of didn't mind being molested in this way. In fact, I liked it and started wondering if a three-way was in the making. So did my friend, who asked the new boy if he'd like to join us. The kid looked at me, then at my new friend and ever so slightly shook his head. No. Was I disappointed? Yeh, but it was a long shot and I was already with the second-cutest guy in the bar (which did indeed turn out to be a gay-straight mix club as male couples also began taking to the runway. I love this about Thailand. Gay or straight, no one cares. We're all having fun). So how did this new kid end up in our taxi on the way back to my hotel in the Silom-Sathorn district? He says he's going to an after-after-hours club on Soi 6 but is starting to tease me, too. Might the three-way be on after all? My chemically rejuvenated cock was sure ready for one. What a great way to cap off an already fantastic Thailand trip! But it didn't happen. Still, I must look out for this club on Soi 6 next time I'm in Bangkok, which will be much sooner than I had previously planned. Is it a club? Maybe a sauna?2 points -
Believe it or not, my recent massage at a gay sauna (not Lagoa) was wonderful, big strong hand but medium force. I had told him I didn't want to cum, so he did not attempt to do happy ending, but I had a full erection when he worked on my lower body because it was very sensual.2 points

Thanks @vinapu for your report and photos. It reminds me of my trip to Angkor 18 years ago, especially those stone steps with no guardrail as you climb up to the top of the main temple at Angkor Wat. Those steps are incredibly steep with big distances beween the steps. I thought i was in pretty good physical condition and had happily spent the previous three days climbing over many other ruined temples. The main temple was to be the highlight of our visit. But on the last set of steps my thighs just gave up! Half way up I found I just could not move even using arms and legs. I decided I'd have to go down, but when I turned around and looked down, I knew my legs would never make it and I'd fall. After pause of a minute or two, I summoned up the courage to clamber up to the top as best I could, all the while fearing I might not make it. I was then delighted to realise that for the way down there were the other wooden steps in @vinapu's photo with the bannister that makes getting down much easier. Later in the evening climbing up the small steps on to the Bangkok Airways plane, my thighs had still not recovered! I must have seemed 30 years older than my age!2 points

I have been in Colombia twice. As a general rule you should try to avoid walking around after dark/at night. There are certain areas/barrios in Colombian cities that should be avoided after dark/at night. These areas will often be deserted at night; poorly lit and with poor housing. Stay away/ turn back! If you see other people walk around it should be okay for you as well. Try not to use your phone while walking around especially at night. Colombia is no worse than other countries or certain US cities. If you use common sense, you should be fine.2 points

Other car trip was to Kbal Spean , riverbed carved with hundreds lingas but timing was unfortunate, after night’s rain water was high and lots of carvings were poorly visible. To get there there's nice 40 mins walk through the jungle. I visited it on my way to sacred mountain Mount Kulen where upon arrival I was offered trip to some remote places accessible only by narrow paths for motorbikes only. Driver wanted 20$ for the whole circuit , pictures looked enticing but what made me take his offer was comment I saw on internet “ very interesting adventure but not for old people “ Moment I saw it I was buyer, fuck whoever wrote it. KFC man rules , no? Not that it was entirely wrong as it was shaky ride but worth every penny and adventure indeed and can be undertaken only by motorbike.2 points

Next day was Preah Vihear which I already visited before but that temple being separate UNESCO site seated dramatically atop of mountain is worth going to any time. Fact that it was fought over with Thais quite recently (tranches are still visible ) adds to the drama. For those in Bangkok, there’s replica of her in Muang Boran park in Samut Prakan among other architectural gems of Thailand. Driver sensed perhaps that 90 $ he charged me yesterday was too low so asked for 130 $ to go there, still less than I paid last time. temple is on that mountain view from the top I met family2 points

Guys and ruins, ruins and boys -trip to Cambodia in Oct 2022
revengeboo reacted to vinapu for a topic
This is second part of my trip to SE Asia. First part was very short visit to Thailand reported already here : https://www.gayguides.com/forums/topic/38515-shortest-trip-ever-but-still-blood-pressure-rising-report/ First thing I did in the airport was to collect my luggage which arrived only day later and I instructed them to keep it there as I will be able to collect it on departure. Process went very smoothly and only when I was reunited with my goods clouds appeared on horizon : my 10.30 am flight to Phnom Penh did not appear anywhere on the screen. Upon visiting ThaiViet Jet counter I learned that it’s postponed till 17.30 so after brief consultation with myself I decided to toss that ticket and but new one for next available flight which was with Bangkok Airways at twice the price. Within hour I was on the plane though and landed in PP shortly after 1 so that splurge gave me an additional half day of time there. I had electronic visa so all went smoothly, exchanged 20 $ for 80 000 riels to have some change , collected my luggage , purchased SIM card for 8$ for 16 days and went to the taxi counter to splurge 9$ on tuk-tuk to the hotel. There are cheaper options like bus or catching tuk-tuk- outside of airport but I decided NOT to play Scrooge as amounts involved are very minor (to keep things in perspective where I live taxi from airport is 32 $ and I live walking distance from the airport). I was in PP three days staying in Saravoan Royal Palace hotel in close vicinity of National Museum. Street 178, right beside Blu Chili bar which I did not visit by the way. Talk about wasted opportunities. Can recommend that hotel and will return as they say. I like to stay close to main attractions of place I’m visiting. They close gates at night but there was night guard so poor guy was waked up by me at 2 am every night, tipped him 2 $ or 10000 riels each time for his troubles. Went around the city by foot or tuk-tuk 1-2 $ each time . As before riels and dollars are fully interchangeable at rate 4000 to 1$ and you can pay in either. Changing money is easy and rates vary very little. Make sure your dollars notes , if any are not torn nor have ant writings on them. They seem to be vary particular about that and I got returned 1 $ bill with 1 mm tear. I reported my arrival to Christian PFC who happened to be there , by coincidence living in hotel on the same street and shortly he visited me to shake hands and then we went for a dinner to restaurant he recommended. In the evening I went alone to search for Space Hair , barber turning into host bar at night They don’t have go-go bars , Space Hair is a host bar. Bar is located on 136 str , famous for girl bars , right beside Sun and Moon hotel. I had problems finding it as for some reason I though is opposite hotel but no, is right beside. Gay flag is proudly displayed. There are several hosts there who are willing to have a drink or few drinks with you but are not offable in Thai sense. Yes you can tactfully arrange to meet at least some of them after hours. There are also three cute dogs who were not inclined to extract any drinks. They open at 8pm and close at 2 am. I spent all 3 evenings there having two permanent drinking companions plus occasional one from time to time . Nothing rough but I had bit of discreet but fruitful survey under the table at their invitation / encouragement. Drinks are from 3.50 / beer / to 6 / red wine / , worth it as one of my boys admitted it makes him horny and not after long I could see and feel the proof, again discretely. Unfortunately that guy was not available to go with customer , God is my witness I tried daily or rather nightly. Still he was a ton of pleasant fun and I think I liked him the most from all guys I met on that trip. Another of my hosts turned more amendable , on my last night with a bit of drama I managed to convince to visit me in my room. Drama because we left separately and only then I got Line message from him asking about my hotel and instructing me to wait for him in front of it. This gives you an idea how discrete whole thing is. I spent 50-70 $ on drinks for boys nightly and don’t regret it at all which is surprising myself as I’m not bar person. They are not nagging you for drinks and when treated with one are not in rush to gulp it and leave but when they finish one they may leave your table unless you treat them with next one. What I liked about that bar is that guys were keeping track of what we had and on one of nights actually noticed that I was charged for some drinks they did not had, impressive and about 8 $ savings. As for massage places three I visited were HECO and two Hatha Khmer locations. HECO is right behind royal palace so walking distance from my hotel , hey had only 2 boys on duty when I was there but that was enough , I was happy with one I picked up. Massage is costly at 20$ but I liked experience , tipped boy also 20 $ When you google for Hatha Khmer you may receive 3 locations. 330 street, 350 and 368. Visited all three but at 368 was nothing at address indicated , asked locals and they told me that shop moved to 330 street which I visited as well. Both 330 and 350 streets are in vicinity of infamous Tuol Sleng Genocide prison museum so easy to get to as every driver knows the place. 330 is short street and Hatha Khmer is located at opposite end from prison , on your left going toward it. There’s sign but it’s bit discreet so watch out , entry is like a bit of garden. Inside behind the glass were several hunks, massage was 15 $ , I tipped guy whole 40 $ which probably was well above going rate but I was happy with experience. Location on 350 street is sauna and massage. That is street bordering prison from south and is much longer , Hatha Khmer is on stretch between prison and main street on your left going from prison . There’s no sign but is quite prominent poster showing handsome hunk, entry looks loke covered parking lot or garage with sauna entry deep inside. I just asked attendant and he pointed me toward staircase. It was mid day and no boy was on duty but they told me they can bring one in 5 minutes and that was exactly what happened. Massage 12 $ , I tipped 30 $ , session was good but bit rushed toward end, it’s why lower tip. In PP massages they expect you to be showered already and in none shower was offered after massage even if they had facilities. They simply wiped all oil clean with the towels . Facilities were clean and boys smelling immaculate so nothing to be apprehensive about . I liked 330 location the best out those 3 even if presence of that infamous prison nearby was for me a bit chilling. I was in Phnom Penh in 2001 and change to the urban landscape was positive and monumental. I was surprised by number of high rises built in meantime , streets were much cleaner , parks spruced up, Central Market and railway station renovated. It appeared also to be much safer than expected , at least twice I left Space Hair at 2 am and walked to my hotel from 136th street to 178th undisturbed at all. I visited National Museum, very pleasant affair few steps from my hotel but sadly Royal Palace with it’s Silver Pagoda was still closed for a Covid apparently. Climbed Wat Phnom hill , visited several temples and Wat Ounalom and Russian Market as a tourist program and three days in Phnom Penh went fast. Then I went for a week to Siem Reap which will be reported separately.1 point -
Nice write up. I was in Brazil in 2014 and it was amazing on home game days. On a Thursday afternoon R. da Consolação in Sao Paulo only had a few taxis and city buses. I was in Belo Horizonte for the opening day and there was a riot. A woman ran down the deserted street by the cafe with her children yelling something, the male customers and staff began piling up tables and chairs at the front while the women and children were moved to the back. Police officers barricaded the front of their station across the street with police cars. But the rioters, there weren't many, went another direction. I've never had trouble dressing down on vacations, it's my natural state. Even the guys selling time share condos on Puerto Vallarta's beach front ignore me.1 point

Yes, do check it out! You would need a prescription from a doctor for enlarged prostate (BPH) which is not uncommon for older men. The Cialis helps with urination although one must suffer the side effects. Typically the prescription would be for Cialis to be purchased in your home country and thus, necessary to have a friend bring it to Thailand or bring it yourself. I never thought of it but my doctor recommended it. Also if in USA, you can ask the doctor for a prescription for your insurance plan plus a second prescription for discount pharmacies such as GoodRx who work with CVS, ShopRite, Giant, etc. about $20/90 pills.1 point -
crowds were sparse although not as sparse as one may deduct from my photos, my estimation is about 1/5 of ' normal' crowds. In Angkor Wat, no doubt most popular and most accessible temple there were corridors and galleries where there was nobody for good 10 minutes . Bottom line is best time to go is now before crowds return although area is so vast that apart from most popular (Angkor Wat, Bayon , Banteai Srei, perhaps also Ta Prohm ) temples in others crowd will be hardly overwhelming even if tourist traffic returns to normal. When I made trek on top of Angkor Thom walls only people I met on my way were few locals and only tourists I saw were on the road under Northern and Victory Gates as those are asphalted transit routes between temples. Surprisingly all 4 nights I went to Barcode bar it was crowded to capacity ! Looks people had their priorities set.1 point

About time, too! The disparity between those at the top of the earning ladder and those at the bottom just gets wider and wider. It's time those who earn massive profits in Thailand finally begin to accept that a tiny portion of those obscene profits should be shared with those who help generate them. The elite need to learn that Thailand exists not just for them.1 point

No apologies. Thoroughly enjoyable and amazing photos and details. The sparse number of people in photos is incredible. Wow. When I was there, it was a throng of people and almost like walking through the old Bangkok night market on a weekend. Thank you so much for sharing!1 point

Looks like you had Preah Vihear to yourself. I went there early on a Sunday morning and it was quite busy. In fact we arrived at the little place where you buy tickets and wait for your truck up the mountain before any of the employees and it was surprisingly crowded already. Definitely a great setting. Have you been to Koh Ker?1 point

From Khmer Times AirAsia, one of the leading airlines in the region, has confirmed the opening of a branch in Cambodia in early 2023, naming it AirAsia Cambodia, it’s fifth branch in the ASEAN region – and claims it will bring 3-4 million tourists to Cambodia per year. During a meeting with Chea Bora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism on December 8, 2022, Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A (changed from AirAsia Group), said that his company was in the process of establishing a branch in Cambodia under the name AirAsia Cambodia. Mr Fernandes said that on December 9, 2022, his company will sign a memorandum of understanding with local companies in Phnom Penh to set up AirAsia Cambodia in Cambodia in January 2023. Cambodia will be the fifth country in ASEAN to have AirAsia headquarters after Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. In addition, AirAsia also has offices outside the region, such as in Japan and India. During the meeting at the Ministry of Tourism, the Director General of AirAsia also confirmed that his company plans to attract 3-4 million tourists and travelers to Cambodia per year, with the first step of the company plans to launch four Airbus A321 aircraft connecting destinations in ASEAN, Japan, India and China, as well as domestic destinations such as Phnom Penh-Siem Reap, Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville. According to the Director General of AirAsia, the priority destination for connecting direct flights to Cambodia is the ASEAN countries. In addition, AirAsia is also interested in connecting direct flights from China to Cambodia and from India to Cambodia. According to Mr Fernandes , the Airbus A321 can carry about 200 passengers, and if the number of passengers increases, the company will increase the number of aircraft. Cambodia does not yet have direct flights with India, so once a direct flight agreement is agreed and operated in the future, AirAsia will play a key role in transporting tourists by air.1 point

John Thomson's collection of more than 650 negatives were purchased by the American Henry Solomon Wellcome shortly after Thomson's death in 1921. Wellcome had made his fortune in the pharmaceutical business. He had earlier moved to the UK and became a British citizen. Having sold Wellcome to the company now known as GlaxoSmithKline, on his death he left all his wealth to the Wellcome Trust, a charity which he had established. It seems there is no permanent Exhibition of Thomson's work at the Wellcome Trust's headquarters. What better than to make digital reproductions of his work for permanent exhibition in the countries he visited?1 point

My apologies to those who care I promised second part a while ago but I was busy with other travel and some social functions and only now have time to continue. As I said after 3 days in Phnom Penh I went for full week to Siem Reap. As lover of old buildings and ruins I must say Siem Reap for me is close to ultimate destination owing to number of crumbling buildings spread over large territory. During that week tourist stuff was more important to me than, eternal shame on me, boys. Saying that I haste to say that with exception of first evening , none of he following six went without romantic stuff . Getting from airport to my hotel was easy, I was planning to go outside gates where always some tuk-tuk drivers congregate but on my way was stopped by some driver who offered me ride to hotel for 9$ which is upper end of price for that service but was smart enough to finish his sentence with statement that he has also car if I want to go somewhere further. I was prepared so asked him right away ‘how much to Banteai Chhmar?’ 90 $ was much less than expected so deal was sealed. More about that later, boy stuff first as this is what readers are waiting for, not a pile of old stones. Owing to good offer on Agoda my first 4 night were at Royal Crown followed by three at Men’s Resort. Royal Crown markets itself as 4 if not 5 stars and it is quite shiny with two pools , breakfast is included and room was very spacious and nicely furnished. It’s across the river from Old Market. There are two supermarkets just steps from hotel and there was no problem with visitor. Men’s resort is little gay enclave in hidden soi north of National Highway 6 which is Siem Reap’s main drag but it’s only 5 minutes walk from said Hwy so hardly remote. Wat Po Lanka as well as town’s only Catholic Church are in close proximity and National Museum (closed when I was there ) is nearby. They offer massage and there’s sauna with adjacent maze on ground level, pool and all staff are males. For lazy or rich types there’s always tuk-tuk or two parked at front so getting to the city is cheap and easy. Room had a view and all conveniences but had that industrial feel with concrete floor , bit different from opulence of Royal Crown but quite similar to one I had in Phnom Penh at Saravoan. I liked their breakfast and to this day I recall taste of fresh baguette and heavenly tasting jam, best I had in generation or two. As for more interesting stuff there I had one massage there before I moved in but after that did not participate in any internal activities in resort. I’m not sauna person and somehow either I did not know how to approach guys working there or they skillfully ignored me but for me that resort was just hotel without any extras. Perhaps I should be more forwarding, I just don’t know but did not click there. No problem with external guest other than necessity of waking up night shift receptionist as gates were closed but 10000 riel / 2.5 $/ note soothed his inconvenience – my initiative , he did not ask for anything, perhaps because was too sleepy, lol. to be continued below1 point

Again apologies about pieces. Right after he left there was phone from airport that my luggage arrived and they plan to deliver it tonight to my hotel but I had better idea. Since I, m flying out tomorrow I, ll pick it up in the airport on my way. My laundry dried in meantime so I was set. Reader siganalzed he will be in Hotmale beer bar tonight so I rushed there around 8 to find him and paulsf as well. Paul showed me new waiter there, good looking guy indeed. I took note to get acquainted with him when stars align. Than after having drink with my friends I went to complete task nr. 2 of this trip, to go to Jupiter and check if Handsome Cambodian, long time my one-sided love is there but he was not. Music not as loud as before, AC also set at pleasant level. Boys, as always, shining handsome and unsmiling but one or two at least looked as trying to show interest, nice change. I don, t understand their format with boys hidding in corners after their walkabout and time filled by listening to singer but I assume bar knows better. Watched show but before finished I left for my next destination tonight, Tawan. As always I was greeted with smiles and enthusiasm due always when new shiny ATM arrives. Dum and Mas, resident twink invited themselves to my table so I treated them with drinks. K was already in the know he will be taken tonight to took my NO for drink question with understanding. I was hoping Tiger will be back but not yet, still another Lao guy Petch is back, he recognized me right away. For me he is remarkable specimen as all in, he is my second worst and the best off ever few years apart. When I advocate giving second chance I always have him in mind. If I did not fix K for tonight he will be one to go with me probably. After about 1 HR K and I jumped on his motorbike, I noticed that being new one and went to Happy Beer Garden for a meal and of course out of 1000 baht tab about 140 only was mine dish. Those guys sometimes really are testing my patience, lol. But in the room I got my money, s worth and in the morning woke up happy. Went to UNESCO Foodland alone for breakfast, packed very little I had and went to airport. Collected my luggage without any issues being provided instructions where to go by phone yesterday only to learn that my flight to Phnom Penh with ThaiVietAir was moved from 11 am to 17.30pm. Joy of flying with discounts I guess. So blood pressure up again and quick decision to check who flies to PP next and for how much. Bangkok Airways it was, in 90 minutes. Quick trip to mezzanine to check price, 5500 baht, sold. Other ticket may be wasted but half day in Phnom Penh gained. If I left at 17.30 I, d be there well after dark so no, I rather lose ticket. Straight to check in and shortly I was in the air, after about 36 hours there ending my 23rd trip, shortest ever but not boy deprived, leaving Thailand forever (until next time of course)1 point

Sorry guys I kept this thread neglected for good while busy doing nothing i. e. travelling. So if you recall I had unexpected reunion with boy not seen many years. We had great time together but in the morning, after he left, not that he was in rush to do so, I was back to reality which sadly was that I, m without luggage. So after breakfast in UNESCO heritage Foodland Patpong I went straight to Silom Market in soi 1p to buy necessary toiletries, underwear and t-shirt to carry me through the day. Upon returning to hotel I washed my other set and head to UNESCO again because floridarob signalized he is planning to have lunch there. No problem recognizing him this time, nice talk we have over tasty foods. Then when I told him my planned first step this short trip is Senso, not visited by me since prepandemic he decided to accompany me there. Mamasan was the same but crew totally different. I hoped to see M or Jack but no, no familiar hunky guys, those present were rather well built next door types than hunks. One face was familiar from Sabaidee spa Line feed so I decided to get him, floridarob did not find anybody suitable so he left me there. Prices unchanged 1. 5 HR massage 1490, min tip 1500. Guy was actually surprised Sabaidee still uses his pics when I told him so as he left them, massage was good , guy pleasant but when I declared lack of interest in bottoming he kind of lost his heart too so session finished quite before 90 minutes mark. So tip was only minimum even if I was prepared to cross the mark but not when time is cut short. At 4 pm my last night companion returned for short time session since we need to catch up all those 5 years. Such muscles must be utilized before they start being covered with fat reasoned I. He was as happy with repeat as was me and again was not in rush to leave at all. Only when time to go to his bar neared we parted ways promising to see each other much sooner then in next 5 years.1 point

In Turkey, I only know Istanbul. I love that city, the culture ... the food ... and there are so many handsome men. Unfortunately, where I've stayed does not allow guests. I've been there during Ramadan when many guys stick close to family, particularly during evenings when they break the fast. If a primary purpose of a trip abroad is to have sex, Istanbul/Turkey would not be my choice. Not if I'm traveling from the USA. But, when I am there again and have accommodation where I can invite someone back ... paying 100 Euro to a guy who interests me would not upset me. I'd do it - because my appetite isn't as voracious as many others who post here!. I loved riding the trams and street cars ... and brushing up against so many handsome men whose smiles almost melted me in their presence. I've also spent some time in the Kurdish quarter of Istanbul ... and find the young men handsome. Very.1 point

Good for you @12is12 It is an efficient way to find a guide and get some company when you visit a country for the first time. And I agree that it avoids wasting a lot of time in the first few days somewhere by endless online chat. I did this also on my first visits to Argentina. I found 2 guys who on paper were promising and the suggested fee was reasonable fee (with me picking up all costs). One was Marcelo (proficient in English, goodlooking but very argumentative) but I dropped him when I found he’d tried to cheat me with a grossly inflated restaurant bill. Marcelo was still active as a guide for foreign visitors 5 years ago. The second guy was Alexis (no English, short but muscled blond) who was pleasant, informative and helpful. He insisted on walking me back to my hotel after our first dinner…eagerly stripped off, sucked me off and stayed for breakfast.1 point
