  1. I've been meaning to get to this, but have been busy...went to Bali after BKK and a 1 night encore in BKK on my way back to the states.....Now I'm in Brazil after a short break in Mexico. Left Pattaya using Mike Taxi, prompt as usual into BKK with 2 stops...I was staying at The Tarntawan and my friend at the Peninsular ....def different tax brackets. Got a front room at Tarntawan, maybe the best stay I've had here ever since the wifi was SUPER fast, felt like a new mattress, and cold a/c. A few familiar faces seen working the hotel, I felt at home. Ordered a pad kaprow room service and was delicious as always. My friend is into nice restaurants, so we went to Blue Elephant for dinner...nice waiter from Myanmar good food and friendly service. We did the rounds of most of the go-go bars, Hot Male, Fresh Boys, Banana Club, Jupitar where I warned him would be a total waste of money for both of us, but he insisted on seeing it yet agreed with me after and we never went back, thank goodness. It was late so we walked by Super A- no one interesting and then Nature Boy/ Golden Cock. The owner/bartender recognized me and had only 2 guys working, 1 I had been with before....nothing for my friend, he went to his hotel alone as he was tired and I had a couple of beers in GC and offed the guy I had been with before and I knew he knew what I liked...... Next day I had room service breakfast, it's supposed to be only in the lobby but the waitress said she'd bring it up to my room since I'm a long time customer and told me that I'm the only one doing that...I felt special 🙄 Anyone that knows me, knows I am a vampire and generally don't go outside until 5pm.....this trip in BKK was usually 6 or 7pm. We went to another restaurant Aksorn, a Michelin star restaurant....2800 thb ++pp.....I would've been just as satisfied at 5 star rated Foodland, we went to some of the go-go's again and added Dream boys. I didn't see anyone that I really wanted to be with and my friend had lined up someone on Grindr so I went to Hot Male downstairs where I was supposed to meet @vinapu . It was getting late and most places were getting ready to close when I saw him come walking towards the bar, but went up to someone else sitting at the bar and hugged him and started chatting. I figured he knew him from other trips....come to find out he never met him before. So I yelled out, "what am I chopped liver" and he said, am I supposed to know you to which I replied, I'm Floridarob....then he realized his error and said bye to the other guy. He was in Hot Mode and everything was closing so he went to wonder the streets and from his reports, he scored someone that had finished work at Tawan and was having drinks with his friends. I didn't find anyone and got some 7/11 food to take to my room. Met up with Vinapu at Foodland for lunch and went with him to Senso...as soon as he sat down, he knew who he wanted immediately and deserted me, lol I didn't see anyone, it was early and only 3 guys working....Since I'm not a sex machine, I figured I'd save myself for later to enjoy the night. On my way back to the hotel, walking down Silom, someone in front of a massage shop called me over, it was a regular I've known from Super A for a long time so agreed to a foot massage. Talked about economy and blah, blah, blah...was nice to see him but he got chunky, like many of us did during Covid... Dinner at Rongros, great view of Wat Arun and the river, nice setting, decent food. By the time we finished, I was too full and tired to do anything and my friend had another Grindr date lined up...much easier for a top than a bottom to have sex on a full stomach. For lunch we went to the Malaysia hotel...I told him I always went at night and knew the people at night, no one during the day...he insisted we go, it is one of my favorite places for thai food for a long, long time...it used to be such a fun place before the apps to go to after the bars. The food was horrible and I knew if we went at night it would've been better , oh well. Went to Dream Boys and New Twilight....I told him, no more dinners, I'll never have sex at that rate. REALLY liked New Twilight...not sure if it will last though because of the location, nothing that has been there has lasted and with the way the gay clubs are going, can't believe someone invested so heavily there. The rest of the nights were pretty much the same, Ate at G's on Soi 4, was blah, Some foot massages on Soi 6, there was always 1 guy in a bar that knew me from before and when I asked their names, I referred to my notes from previous trips and decided they weren't worth a 2nd time... got my haircut at David no 5, near where BBB Inn used to be, had some grindr hookups, 2 free ones that recognized me from previous trips, bought some sexy underwear from Silom for gifts back home, met a German friend for dinner, went to MBK to buy gifts and Muay Thai shirts I wanted, the shop didn't have what I was looking fo rand they were nice enough to give me the factory website and I bought them online and delivered the next day to my hotel. One night we went to Tawan, I didn't want to , it's been a very long time since I've seen someone my type there, but my friend did. I explained to the waiter I have been a customer for a long time and brought my friend to see the show, but I was full and couldn't drink anything...he nodded and came back with 2 drinks on the bin. I explained I didn't want anything and only brought my friend. He checked with the boss, They said I can leave and they won't charge me....so I waited for my friend outside. I told them now I'd never come back, but you know their long time vision is only today.....every time we walked passed it, I told them, no never coming in again....they didn't care. The highlight of the BKK trip was 2 filipinos that were offering 4 hand massage. They wanted too much but agreed on 2k baht....we hung out at their hotel, Furama Silom drinking then we started messing around....it was like a fantasy, Amazing massage and long time sex from both of them together, they've been friends a long time and knew how to push my buttons. Off to Bali for 10 days, I'll try to do a summary report in that board and one of Brasil when I get back..... This turned into a long summary 😝 On the way back from Bali, I had a 12 hr layover in BKK...No line at Fastrack Immigration but had to wait 45 mins for luggage....Grab Taxi to Tarntawan, got a back room this time, but before I left, I asked them to block a high room. For $17usd a night without b'fast, was still a good deal and decent room, get a high room if you book a back (cheaper) room. Went for another haircut (priorities), then to Hot Male...That's where had the most my type on this trip....narrowed down to 1 and explained I didn't have much time because I had to head back to the airport , had a few drinks and back to my room.....my biggest complaint about guys, they want to please everyone and say they can do what you want. I think he was more bottom, but claimed to be top.....I had to practically fuck him so he could nutt, he was cute and fun and we had already negotiated a short, short time rate. I went to food land for my last pad kaprow and to get some ingredients to make my own at home. Off to the airport and to Boston for a few days before returning home to Mexico.

  2. Pattaya Koh Larn island trip report - November 2022 This is my trip report to Koh Larn from Pattaya. It is written for those who might want to venture over to this beautiful island for a day trip or to stay a couple of nights like we did. I travelled with 2 of my Thai friends, as it was one of their birthday’s, hence these chosen dates. Why Koh Larn? Because you may want to get away from the hustle & bustle of busy Pattaya to stay at some truly beautiful beaches that have transparent blue turquoise clean water with nice white sand. As we know, most of Pattaya, and lesser so, Jomtien beaches have brownish water, consequently making it sometimes difficult to enjoy a true pleasant beach experience that Thailand is known for. Note, that Koh Larn is NOT at the level of beauty of Koh Samui or Phuket – but for only being 20 to 30 minutes away from Pattaya – it is a nice quick and easy substitute for them. Day ONE - Monday 21 November 2022 We took a Grab taxi from Jomtien over to the Bali Hali Pier in Pattaya. At the pier, there are many offerings for private tours via speed boat (costing thousands of Thai baht) and also transport via speed boat for ฿150 baht per person one way. We opted for the speedboat transportation modality, which takes 20 minutes. Note that if you continue towards the pier you can buy a ฿30 baht one way fare on the ferry boat, which takes 40 to 45 minutes. Note ferry schedule below – there are 2 destinations available – Naban Port which faces Pattaya, and Tawaen Beach which faces west into the Gulf of Thailand. http://kohlarn.com/getting-to-koh-larn.html The speedboat ride was quite enjoyable, as the sea was calm – consequently there were not many bumps. If you find that the sea is rough, then I would suggest that you instead take the ferry. Each of us wore a life vest – including all of the other passengers. After exiting the speedboat onto the floating pier, you will be almost immediately solicited for room rentals, taxis, and motorbike rentals. My 2 Thai friends had already reserved us a place in a 2 unit bungalow that they really liked (from previous trips) because it is isolated and private and still within the Naban village. We walked about 5 to 6 minutes south from the pier (as indicated in the below map) to where my 2 friends were greeted by a friendly Thai lady who acted as the broker for our 2 sleeping accommodations, which included 2 motorbikes (1 per unit). The price was ฿1,500 baht per unit and we always took 2 units – as I like to sleep alone. This is our first night accommodation. Simple – but nice and very private with a rocky beach front – when the tide is up the balcony is on top of the water and when the tide is out the balcony overlooks the rocks. Nice places to sit on each single balcony with 2 chairs each with a small table, nearby tree with tons of shade and an outdoor table if needed. From the below photo, you can see that the rooms are modest but practical. There was good air-conditioning and normal bathroom with hot water for a shower. The best part was the view of the Pattaya city and Jomtien skylines. For some months now, I can see Koh Larn from where I live in Jomtien and now I can look back to where I live. I have to say that it is very impressive – more so from Koh Larn looking towards Pattaya/Jomtien – especially at night when the entire city is illuminated. Note, there was NO breakfast included in the above mentioned price. View of Pattaya City and Jomtien from our Koh Larn room balcony – quite impressive. We unpacked our bags and then headed out to lunch at one of the many roadside cafes on our way to our first beach destination at Hat Nuan beach – which is on the southern tip of Koh Larn. Beach was pleasant and nice, but was not my favorite because when you walk into the water, it quickly gets deep – as there is a drop-off in the sea floor. I prefer a gradual drop off where you can walk out far into the water before it gets deep. At the far end of this beach – towards the rocks – are a group of monkeys. Many tourists were feeding them. I did not attempt to get too close as I saw many Youtube videos where the monkeys will steal something from you (like your mobile phone) and run away. No thanks. After a couple of hours at Hat Nuan beach, we then drove over to Samae Beach, which is on the western side of the island. The center of the island is dense green with large hills – so the ride from west to east and east to west are breathtaking – as the views from high up are stunning. Note the following - The roads on Koh Larn are narrow and there are NO cars – only the occasional baht busses that shuttle passengers back and forth between the different beaches. Each way on the baht bus is ฿30 baht for each single ride. Consequently, since there are NO cars – it makes driving on Koh Larn very pleasant, as it is just motorbikes going about – and they tended to drive slowly without any chaos. This is truly a nice experience after the crazy chaos of motorbikes in Pattaya city. Also, even though I have my official Thai motorbike driving license – I have not yet started to drive a motorbike in Thailand. I believe that driving one on Koh Larn will help me get over my fear to get started. Consequently, during this trip, I was the 2nd passenger on one of our 2 motorbikes. Going up some of the bigger hills puts a strain on the motorbike – so, if you plan to go 2 persons on a single bike – make sure that you get a motorbike strong enough. For sure, 2 falangs on a single motorbike might not make it up some of the steeper hills. In my case, we were always 1 falang and 1 Thai – and as we know, the Thais don’t weigh much. Next stop, was Samae Beach. This beach I really liked. During this trip, we visited 5 beaches in total and Samae was tied for my favorite with another beach that we visited on day 2. Samae, has the type of white beach sand that I really like with the gradual decline in the seabed, that allows you to walk out quite far before having to start swimming. The water is a beautiful transparent turquoise color. After almost arriving to sunset, we drove back to our room to freshen up for our Main Event – the birthday celebration of my Thai friend at the infamous Klom Klom restaurant / bar. The Klom Klom restaurant / bar is truly an eclectic cool hippy type of place and was an excellent choice to celebrate my friend’s birthday. This was one of my most favorite places in Thailand – something that I would expect to find up in PAI, in northern Thailand. A jazz band was playing during our visit. The food and drinks were very good. The only negative is that the food came from another affiliated place that is across the street – which made the wait for our meal somewhat longer than normal. When I thought that the bill would come, instead the waiters and band played and sang happy birthday for my Thai friend – which was a nice surprise. Even the customers joined into sing. A weird jello birthday dish was served with a lit candle in it (?? Thai tradition ??). To find this place – see below map – as it is about half way between Naban village and Tawaen Beach. Anybody who lives on Koh Larn knows about this place as it is super famous. Back home for some more drinks on our balcony to enjoy the illuminated Pattaya skyline. Day TWO – Tuesday 22 November 2022 We had to switch accommodation locations because one of our 2 bungalow rooms was rented out to another party (surprise snafu). So, we moved north of the main Naban village pier to ธนัชชา รีสอร์ท (Thanatcha Resort). Note from the map below, that this place is VERY close to the main ferry pier and if you remember from the above ferry schedule, the first ferry is at 6:30am bound for Pattaya. It starts blasting its horns for departure at 6:20am. So, I would avoid this place if you do not like to wake up early. Also, it is kind of run down and you can see that it has seen better days. It has a large wooden deck that is tastefully illuminated in the evening with an excellent view of the Pattaya city skyline. Breakfast is included. Price was the same as the previous accommodation, ฿1,500 baht per unit and we took 2 units. This place includes breakfast out on the terrace, which included a Thai kind of rice / chicken soup, toast and marmalades, and eggs sunny side up + coffee. Our next destination was to go see the BIG giant Buddha up on Buddha hill. What is impressive about this place is that you have an incredible view of almost all of Koh Larn – especially looking down onto the tourist packed Tawaen beach. Furthermore, this is where the paragliders take off and land – it was truly breathtaking to watch all of them as there was at least a dozen of them up in the air above us. Have any of you tried this paragliding thing? https://www.flykohlarn.com Driving down into Tawaen Beach, the scene was overwhelming, as the beach was teeming with tourists mainly from India – it was loud and super crowded. I told the guys to continue onwards, and we found a great place to have lunch just before the next beach over, where Tong Lang Beach starts. It was much more quiet and tranquil. I believe that Tawaen Beach is extremely crowded because the main ferry from Pattaya also stops here. Here is a photo of the tranquil and beautiful Tong Lang Beach, where we relaxed for a couple of hours. It was nice and pleasant – but was still not yet my most favorite beach spot. Our next stop was Tiennara (Tien Beach). As I mentioned from day one this was also my most favorite beach. But now after writing this report and reliving the fond memories, this beach is my number one favorite from this Koh Larn trip. Why? It is a very BIG (long) beach with many variations within the beach, such as lush green canopy overgrowth where there were many places to stay shaded, eat, relax, etc. There are even secluded places to lodge and stay overnight here --> I definitely need to return to sleep in one of them. Have any of you slept in any rooms that are directly at Tien Beach? If so, please share with us the relevant contact information. To arrive at this paradise, you first park your motorbikes and then walk on this elevated concrete pathway until you arrive onto Tiennara (Tien Beach). It feels different than the other beaches as you feel more isolated and more immersed into the nature with the white powdery beach sand. Note that walking north (opposite way from which you entered) you will eventually find some red chair lounges. This is where we stayed, and the older owner/manager is most likely gay and one of his sexy younger workers appears to also be gay. He was quite flirty – another reason to return to this beach. On our way into this beach over the elevated concrete walkway, my 2 Thai friends acknowledged a group of fellow gay Thai individuals who were heading back – as they only came for the day. So, perhaps this is the beach more frequented by us gays ? The sun was starting to set and it was time to drive back to our accommodation to freshen up and to head out to our last dinner on Koh Larn. The chosen Thai restaurant is, ยกยอ-เกาะล้าน (Lifted Yo - Koh Larn) https://yokyor-kohlarn.business.site/ which is located on the main road going south from the Naban village that follows the sea shoreline (see below map). It is a somtum type of Thai restaurant and the food was great. It received a 4.3 rating out of 5 maximum in Google. After dinner, we made a quick stop at 7-Eleven (even on Koh Larn they seem to be almost everywhere) to grab some beers to enjoy our last view of our hotel sea deck illuminated Pattaya / Jomtien city skyline. We had breakfast in the following morning at our 2nd day hotel and then off to return our motorbikes and join the crowd looking for speedboats back to Pattaya. Again, ฿150 baht per person one way. In about 22 minutes we were already back at the Bali Hali pier in Pattaya. We called a BOLT taxi to take us back to Jomtien. Would I go back to Koh Larn? MOST definitely – I was truly enchanted with this place and I see that it will take several trips to discover all of the nooks and crannies on this wonderful island – truly an oasis in nature to get away from the craziness of Pattaya city. What would I change? 1.) To have better control over the accommodations that were chosen – there are tons of them and some are truly amazing. 2.) To get over my anxiety to drive a motorbike in Thailand – as Koh Larn is definitely a tranquil place to overcome this fear. In closing, I hope that you enjoyed my long trip report. I hope by sharing all of this information with all of you that it will encourage some of you to take advantage of this unique place in Pattaya.

  3. I suspect not many will remember Jiang Zemin other than he took over the leadership of China when Deng stepped aside after 1989. As the obituaries have noted, he was a very different type of leader from the present President Xi. He even charmed Bill Clinton after Clinton had earlier virtually trashed him as a "butcher of Beijing"! He certainly seems to have been a man who revelled in life. A recent book about the tenor Luciano Pavarotti has an interesting anecdote which perhaps illustrates this. In 2001 the Olympic Bidding Committee was in Beijing making its final assessment of the bids for the 2008 Games. To coincide with this, the Chinese had organised a concert with the famous Three Tenors inside the Forbidden City. Until then, only Bertolucci had been allowed access to the Forbidden City for his movie The Last Emperor. Although none of the top leadership attended the concert, President Jiang invited the tenors to lunch the following day. After a pleasant lunch with Jiang, who spoke good English, the Prime Minister Zhu Rongji and the Minister of Culture, Jiang thanked the tenors for helping with the Chinese bid for the 2008 Summer Games. He then said there was a western tradition that you "sing for your supper". So he proposed that the tenors sing duets with the senior leaders. After Carreras sang something with the Culture Minister and Domingo with the Prime Minister, it came to Pavarotti's turn. President Jiang apparently loved the Neapolitan songs which Pavarotti had sung many hundreds of times. What he did not know was that Pavarotti not only could not read music, he could never remember words. So when they sang their duet, while Jiang was note and word perfect, Pavarotti could not remember certain words and had to resort to the Italian version of "rhubarb, rhubarb." That gaff aside, Pavarotti - clearly a very intelligent man despite his often appearing less so - claimed that having met many of the world's Kings, Queens, Princes, Prime Minsters and other senior leaders, he found Jiang the most intelligent of them all!

  4. I wish we had a crystal ball to see what is likely to happen re Chinese tourism. The recent anti-lockdown demonstrations in many cities create a major problem for the regime. If they grow and spread to other cities, I wonder if the security forces will either try to quell them relatively peacefully or will, as happened in 1989, the regime will consider using force. It's a fascinating time in the life of the largest communist state. Perhaps ironically the World Cup has made the situation worse. Although China did not qualify, the Chinese as a nation are soccer mad. Nighly on their TV screens they see tens of thousands in stadia with no masks and no social distancing. Many will be asking why this is not possible in China. Re tourism, my view is that as a result of three years of lockdowns and the inability of so many to get to work, too many people have suffered such economic hardship that overseas trips will be out of the question for at least a year or two. I cannot see the regome opening up borders for external tourism in 2023. So it is likely to be 2025 before numbers return to anything like the 2019 level. The other worrying factor is that many Chinese remain unvaccinated. Those that are have most likely had the two Chinese made vaccines which we know are considerably less effective than the western ones. Many of those already vaccinated will be waiting for boosters. Without these, I can't see the world accepting planeloads of Chinese tourists.

  6. The Blue Elephant on Sathorn has been open for about 20 years. It is a perfectly lovely up-market Thai restaurant with great food and service. Definitely highly recommended. Rather pricey though.

  7. I had a look at Zoomer Bar last night and had a chat with one of the managers. They are advertising for staff, so another handsome waiter or two would be to my liking. I will visit later in the night sometime soon, but i could not see any reason why they opened in that location for privacy reasons as they mentioned to bkkmfj2648. Further investigation is required.

  8. it was funny mistake I admit but I was mislead by one of Hot Male's boys who on approach told me ' your friend is waiting for you " pointing at , what I thought , that other guy. Add to it being right of the plane after 24 hrs on the road, easily to be confused in my age , LOL On another hand not that confused as indeed I managed to score that Tawan guy and it was find as I lost contact with him good 4 if not 5 years ago. I wonder who used vacation time better that night , me with that guy or you with 7/11 food but yes , we are all entitled to our preferences. If was great to see you at both ends of your trip. Sorry I dumped you at Senso but indeed I know whom I liked and got penalized for abandoning you as guy was not as good as his looks are and cut me on time which is grave sin in my eyes. Certainly I was not his type as on my next visit about 2 weeks later he did not even look at me. Small correction , Foodland is 7.5 stars , not just 5 and we both know why, LOL

  9. I am certain you are correct. In my view, Taiwan's Gay Pride Parade - indeed its entire gay movement since the end of martial law in 1987 - has been so successful because it is organised by a group of committed individuals prepared to work within the system. The Pride Parade was started basically as an act of faith by this group in 2003. It both worked with the authorities and every Parade has promoted a different social message. Thaland's early attempts at Parades were entirely organised by commercial gay venues partly to promote themselves. Unless and until it can involve many more ordinary Thais to take part in the Parade, it will never be more than some sort of side-show - unfortunately.

  10. We should not see ourselves as representative. Our kind of travelling, to put it bluntly, is to feed an 'addiction' so naturally, we travel repeatedly and frequently. For most others, Thailand is not worth visiting for more than once in 3, 4 or 5 years. So, the fear, as expressed in the cited article, that once the pent-up demand is satiated, there will be a 'refractory period' ( to borrow an analogy we are familiar with) before enough demand builds up to visit Thailand again is quite plausible. Yet, it is also fair to say much depends on China's policies, depth of recession, etc.

    Penile Cancer

Penile cancer is quite rare in the developed world, hence the lack of response from the group (unlike prostate cancer, which is extremely common). As with most cancers, staging and classification have a huge impact on prognosis, so your urologist will be in the best position to prepare you for what to expect. It's extremely different from other cancers such as prostate or bladder, so I would definitely not generalize from the experience of someone who had a different type of cancer. Penile cancer is essentially unheard-of in men who were circumcised prior to puberty. You didn't mention where you're located, but, unless it was caught at a very early stage, it would probably be wise to at least get a consultation at a university-based specialized cancer center, since this cancer is quite rare, and even most urologists and oncologists have little experience with it. If it were me (I'm in the US), I'd want to get a consultation from UCLA, MD Anderson, Mayo Clinic, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, or some similar specialized place.

  18. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm back for work. Am currently in neither Bangkok or Pattaya but in the boondocks for a project inspection. I may get a few days R&R in Bangkok at the end of the trip if inspection goes well and it frees up some time. Keeping fingers and penis crossed.

  19. The lack of diversity among the organizers may have also been a factor. The SWING group seems to have had a major role in determining the agenda. A few private photos I've seen of the event showed signs reading: "My body, My pussy, My choice, Your money."

    College Lads on Hornet

Not living in the Silom area affords me different people to be close to on the apps. Most are office workers and college students. Most will never respond to me. I'm patient and and also don't mind repeating a "you are sexy" many times. I saw a lad 2 years back that I thought was adorable. He was cute and sexy. I messaged him. No response. 5 other times over the last 2 years, the same. Never even responding. Today! Today was different. It was rainy and he was stuck in my area (just feet away) and did not want to go out in the rain so he responded. We chatted and I asked him what he was looking for an he said 1000 baht. I said OK. I know he was not a regular money boy as that rate was not regular. But, when he got to me he was very nervous. He chilled a bit with my BF and relaxed. Great sex. Afterwards many thank you's for a good time and he was off. Now, he has me on his friend list in multiple places and this cute junior accounting major has a new benefactor. He asked me to take him to a movie next week and I agreed. He said, "I'll buy your ticket if you buy dinner." Agreed. 2 fucking years later. Damn!

  23. WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Blasting the For the People Act, Senator Mitch McConnell claimed that the bill’s passage would bring the United States “to the brink of democracy.” “The Democrats can dress this bill up any way they want, but their real agenda couldn’t be clearer,” the Senate Minority Leader said. “They want to turn the United States of America that we love and cherish into a democracy.” Noting that the word “democracy” originated in ancient Greece, he vowed, “I will not sit idly by and watch a foreign form of government sneak across our border.” McConnell rallied his fellow Republican senators by reminding them that “we’re the only thing standing between this country and democracy.” “The people who voted for us did not vote for us so that other people could vote for other people,” he said. https://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/mitch-mcconnell-warns-that-voting-bill-would-bring-us-to-brink-of-democracy

  24. This is second part of my trip to SE Asia. First part was very short visit to Thailand reported already here : https://www.gayguides.com/forums/topic/38515-shortest-trip-ever-but-still-blood-pressure-rising-report/ First thing I did in the airport was to collect my luggage which arrived only day later and I instructed them to keep it there as I will be able to collect it on departure. Process went very smoothly and only when I was reunited with my goods clouds appeared on horizon : my 10.30 am flight to Phnom Penh did not appear anywhere on the screen. Upon visiting ThaiViet Jet counter I learned that it’s postponed till 17.30 so after brief consultation with myself I decided to toss that ticket and but new one for next available flight which was with Bangkok Airways at twice the price. Within hour I was on the plane though and landed in PP shortly after 1 so that splurge gave me an additional half day of time there. I had electronic visa so all went smoothly, exchanged 20 $ for 80 000 riels to have some change , collected my luggage , purchased SIM card for 8$ for 16 days and went to the taxi counter to splurge 9$ on tuk-tuk to the hotel. There are cheaper options like bus or catching tuk-tuk- outside of airport but I decided NOT to play Scrooge as amounts involved are very minor (to keep things in perspective where I live taxi from airport is 32 $ and I live walking distance from the airport). I was in PP three days staying in Saravoan Royal Palace hotel in close vicinity of National Museum. Street 178, right beside Blu Chili bar which I did not visit by the way. Talk about wasted opportunities. Can recommend that hotel and will return as they say. I like to stay close to main attractions of place I’m visiting. They close gates at night but there was night guard so poor guy was waked up by me at 2 am every night, tipped him 2 $ or 10000 riels each time for his troubles. Went around the city by foot or tuk-tuk 1-2 $ each time . As before riels and dollars are fully interchangeable at rate 4000 to 1$ and you can pay in either. Changing money is easy and rates vary very little. Make sure your dollars notes , if any are not torn nor have ant writings on them. They seem to be vary particular about that and I got returned 1 $ bill with 1 mm tear. I reported my arrival to Christian PFC who happened to be there , by coincidence living in hotel on the same street and shortly he visited me to shake hands and then we went for a dinner to restaurant he recommended. In the evening I went alone to search for Space Hair , barber turning into host bar at night They don’t have go-go bars , Space Hair is a host bar. Bar is located on 136 str , famous for girl bars , right beside Sun and Moon hotel. I had problems finding it as for some reason I though is opposite hotel but no, is right beside. Gay flag is proudly displayed. There are several hosts there who are willing to have a drink or few drinks with you but are not offable in Thai sense. Yes you can tactfully arrange to meet at least some of them after hours. There are also three cute dogs who were not inclined to extract any drinks. They open at 8pm and close at 2 am. I spent all 3 evenings there having two permanent drinking companions plus occasional one from time to time . Nothing rough but I had bit of discreet but fruitful survey under the table at their invitation / encouragement. Drinks are from 3.50 / beer / to 6 / red wine / , worth it as one of my boys admitted it makes him horny and not after long I could see and feel the proof, again discretely. Unfortunately that guy was not available to go with customer , God is my witness I tried daily or rather nightly. Still he was a ton of pleasant fun and I think I liked him the most from all guys I met on that trip. Another of my hosts turned more amendable , on my last night with a bit of drama I managed to convince to visit me in my room. Drama because we left separately and only then I got Line message from him asking about my hotel and instructing me to wait for him in front of it. This gives you an idea how discrete whole thing is. I spent 50-70 $ on drinks for boys nightly and don’t regret it at all which is surprising myself as I’m not bar person. They are not nagging you for drinks and when treated with one are not in rush to gulp it and leave but when they finish one they may leave your table unless you treat them with next one. What I liked about that bar is that guys were keeping track of what we had and on one of nights actually noticed that I was charged for some drinks they did not had, impressive and about 8 $ savings. As for massage places three I visited were HECO and two Hatha Khmer locations. HECO is right behind royal palace so walking distance from my hotel , hey had only 2 boys on duty when I was there but that was enough , I was happy with one I picked up. Massage is costly at 20$ but I liked experience , tipped boy also 20 $ When you google for Hatha Khmer you may receive 3 locations. 330 street, 350 and 368. Visited all three but at 368 was nothing at address indicated , asked locals and they told me that shop moved to 330 street which I visited as well. Both 330 and 350 streets are in vicinity of infamous Tuol Sleng Genocide prison museum so easy to get to as every driver knows the place. 330 is short street and Hatha Khmer is located at opposite end from prison , on your left going toward it. There’s sign but it’s bit discreet so watch out , entry is like a bit of garden. Inside behind the glass were several hunks, massage was 15 $ , I tipped guy whole 40 $ which probably was well above going rate but I was happy with experience. Location on 350 street is sauna and massage. That is street bordering prison from south and is much longer , Hatha Khmer is on stretch between prison and main street on your left going from prison . There’s no sign but is quite prominent poster showing handsome hunk, entry looks loke covered parking lot or garage with sauna entry deep inside. I just asked attendant and he pointed me toward staircase. It was mid day and no boy was on duty but they told me they can bring one in 5 minutes and that was exactly what happened. Massage 12 $ , I tipped 30 $ , session was good but bit rushed toward end, it’s why lower tip. In PP massages they expect you to be showered already and in none shower was offered after massage even if they had facilities. They simply wiped all oil clean with the towels . Facilities were clean and boys smelling immaculate so nothing to be apprehensive about . I liked 330 location the best out those 3 even if presence of that infamous prison nearby was for me a bit chilling. I was in Phnom Penh in 2001 and change to the urban landscape was positive and monumental. I was surprised by number of high rises built in meantime , streets were much cleaner , parks spruced up, Central Market and railway station renovated. It appeared also to be much safer than expected , at least twice I left Space Hair at 2 am and walked to my hotel from 136th street to 178th undisturbed at all. I visited National Museum, very pleasant affair few steps from my hotel but sadly Royal Palace with it’s Silver Pagoda was still closed for a Covid apparently. Climbed Wat Phnom hill , visited several temples and Wat Ounalom and Russian Market as a tourist program and three days in Phnom Penh went fast. Then I went for a week to Siem Reap which will be reported separately.

  27. From The Thaiger Despite conflicting optimistic predictions, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is warning that Thai tourism may take a sharp downturn next year. While international travellers are flocking to Thailand now, industry experts fear that it may be a flood of pent-up demand and, by next year, all those who waited through the whole pandemic to get to Thailand will have already booked and taken their trips. TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn explained that, for nearly three years, people could not travel and take holidays due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. Once Thailand began reopening, many overly-eager people raced to enter the country. And since all the restrictions were lifted last month, many people who have been waiting impatiently booked their trips to come during this High Season. But, the TAT governor fears that all those people will finish their travel by March and tourism in Thailand will see a big dip as factors level out. The reality of global recession, extreme inflation, and the high prices of plane tickets and travel costs will set in and cause potential travellers to delay or cancel their holidays. Still, authorities in Thailand remain hopeful that tourism revenue will continue to increase next year. Original forecasts expected 1.5 trillion baht in tourist spending this year, though that number has now been reduced to 1.3 trillion. The average foreigner is spending about 60,000 baht per trip to Thailand. The TAT believe that number could be pushed up to about 77,000 baht with various government incentives, especially offering longer stays. Countries or territories that are eligible for visa exemption to Thailand are currently receiving a 45-day stamp instead of 30 days. That longer stay programme is scheduled to run until March of 2023. Phuket has already reported statistics showing that European travellers are booking longer stays, likely because of this 45-day stamp. https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/tourism/thailand-tourism-may-see-a-decline-next-year

I don't know what makes you so sure he is Bad Boy Billy. Monty's kitchen was common knowledge, so that doesn't prove anything. I'm not really interested in proving who a troll really is. Maybe he's Bad Boy Billy and maybe not. The point is a troll is a troll no matter who he is and if the board gets rid of him, that's good riddance. Bad Boy Billy or not, I did like some of his earlier topics and posts. But when it became as obvious as this that we're dealing with a troll, the Rubicon had been crossed.

  34. Sounds like you're avoiding the question. Most is not a figure of speech. It denotes "greatest in amount, quantity, or degree." So if your research is based on pre-covid experiences, please tell us what hotels had all these "older and/or chubby guys" that you encountered?

    The W Hotel Bangkok?

I have stayed at the W many times and am surprised by the last respondent’s impression. There are plenty of guests who walk around and go to breakfast in shorts and a tank top (I’m not saying they should or shouldn’t, but the fact is that they do). I have not experienced anyone hanging around the narrow walkway from the main entrance to the elevators and in Bangkok I’ve never experienced anyone caring about anyone else was doing. The W is a 4* more than a 5*. It’s a solid option but don’t expect opulence or luxury as you would at the Mandarin Oriental, for example. There’s no problem whatsoever bringing guests back with you.

  36. No problem whatsoever, at least with the hotel staff, who will ignore you. There is, however, a long walk to the elevator bank, and there will be other guests' eyes on you and your new friend. There is also the matter of the W being ultra hip. Everyone dresses like they are fashion models. Most guys you meet on Soi 2 or 4 or even on Patpong will not look out of place — they also seem to be stepping out of fashion magazines when they change into their street clothes — but on one long walk to the elevators with several pairs of eyes on me and a Thai friend I had known for years made me wish I had dressed as well as everyone else. Also, if you are with someone from the Patpong area who is new to the scene, he might be overwhelmed by the luxe ambience of the W's lobby. That's quickly forgotten, however, once you get upstairs. One final note, the W attracts a lot of gay guests, and I always find that comforting. Have fun, you'll love it there!

    Massage / Apps

Was in Bangkok last week. Kman Spa very busy with many boys. 9teen masssage and paradise massage on Silom soi 6 also busy. Hero and Prince still closed and now quite old-time places. Many boys on Apps are into High Fun, most of then "boys from the street" i would double check before take them in my room. Considering the Yaba crisis in Thailand now, i prefer to take boys from bar, never had any problems with them as i can go complain to mamasan in case of...

  40. No idea what, s going on with that showering as clearly our experiences were opposite. Heco seems understaffed as we both experienced shortage of staff or rather choice but what we had was still good. All we need is one place ane one boy there it seems. Absolutely agree with that coparizon, at least whe comes to 330 str location. When I was here contingent was actually more numerous than Arena's. As for A&P I can't say anything as I ever been there so hopefully others will respond.

    Anal cancer

Then why complain about it here? Are any of our posting members qualified in the various forms of cancer you routinely think you have? Unllikely, I suggest. If you think you might have cancer and you do not go to a doctor or hospital to have it checked immediately, you are merely trolling this Board - and I say that with repsect because I value some of your contributions.

    My Swampy experience

Got into Suvarnabhumi yesterday afternoon around 2 pm. Amazing. Hardly any queue at immigration, at most 2 or 3 persons. In my lane, I walked straight up to the booth. The majority of the passport counters were manned, but not 100%. Luggage collection wasn't too bad. Had to wait about 15-20 minutes, which is average or above average for most airports.

    Threeways in Thailand

So, I am shaking things up a bit. I have my regular 2 lads for the three-way and I have added one versatile guy from Hornet for this upcoming weekend. It might be fun (or a disaster), but worth a try.

    Bali scene?

Hi, you could also try an app like Scruff - I've got a 2 week trip to Bali booked for June and have already been browsing on Scruff to see who is around locally - and Scruff's location search of Bali seems to work fine for me in Sydnet without a vpn.
