  2. I cannot wait to finish with my teleworking, today is the last day! Yesterday, the plan was having diner with Rhyheim and friends. When I was about to head to Ipanema where the restaurante was located, Big Bro texted me to cancel. I was left with no plan. We connected with the friend @Xclay when he was on his Uber towards 117, but as I said before I do not think I want to visit that sauna again during this trip. Thursday is not a good day for Point, and I was not in the mood to try New Meio Mundo. So I dove into Grindr to hunt for free or paid sex, whatever. When I found a couple of interesting candidates who were asking me for 300 Rials, probably because they noted my profile in English, Gabriel texted me. He was working at Point but, of course, it was a slow night. This is why I wanted to rent close to Point. 15' after he texted me, he was buzzing from my building reception. We had an amazing session. Evidently, last Wednesday he was tired and drained and yesterday was fresh. Passionate, demanding, locking our eyes while he would voraciously ride my dick, the boy is a finding. He left about 10, and I decided to read a book before sleeping. I brought to read in this trip A Life of Lust, Memoirs of THE Porn Star, by Kevyn Mines. You probably know the author by his porn name, Venom. I may write a review for the blog, it is an OK reading if you are a fan. About 10:30, I got a new text message from Rhyheim. He was inviting me to witness a gang bang scene upstairs. Of course, I dropped my book, grab a beer, and headed to the elevator. Their cameraman welcomed me, got a quick chat with Rhyheim and a couple of the boys who were not in the stage area, was assigned a safe area to stay on to avoid being accidentally framed by the camera, and the scene started to rol. 10 guys fucking Brazilian bottom @blessed_xboy. It was a lot of fun being in the backstage observing the interactions and porn tricks to build the staged fantasy. My twits last night went out on real time. I share one above once I was back in my nest. Here you have another one: Hopefully, once I am done with teleworking I will have time to report on the experience. I have not published in my blog in a while, and now I have things to share. The guys ended working soon after midnight, all of them an amazingly friendly crew. I kissed them goodbye, and at 12:30 I fainted. Let's see what happens today.

  3. From Pattaya News An Indian tourist in Pattaya filed a police report on a stranger whom he reportedly paid to go to his hotel room but later turned out to be a transgender individual. The tourist said the transvestite refused to return his money and stole his wristwatch. The tourist said he hired a stranger whom he originally thought was a woman to go to his hotel room on Soi 8 in Banglamung, Chonburi. While the two of them were inside the room, the tourist stated he noticed the stranger was, in fact, a transvestite, not a real woman. Out of disappointment, the Indian man asked for his cash worth 1,500 baht back, but the transvestite reportedly refused. The tourist then chose to file a police report at the Pattaya police station, but the officer informed him that what he did with the stranger was against Thai prostitution laws and may result in legal action against him.The Indian man reportedly began to shed tears as he did not want to get charged. He pled with the officerto find the stranger, claiming the stranger was also a pickpocket because they stole his wristwatch. Pattaya police were inspecting the hotel to try to locate the suspect, adding they would be able to solve the case soon because the suspect forgot their ID card in the hotel room. TPN notes there have been in terms of pickpocketing issues in the Pattaya area 16 cases so far this year, with the most recent happening in early November. There have been arrests, including this most recent one, and Pattaya police vow they will continue to search for and arrest the suspects.

Gardacil is a vaccine against HPV, at our age and profile we have probably already been exposed to HPV and the cancer risk is pre-existing, also the vaccine would be less effective if you are using PREP at the time of vaccination

  8. I agree. Find some other way to express your displeasure about something - and be careful how you do that too. It will especially be frowned upon if a farang says it, and any Thai who overhears it also won't appreciate it. And there have been many incidents when the "unappreciation" directed at a farang lands the farang in a hospital. In Thailand one of the worst mistakes a farang can make is getting angry and/or arguing. Neither will get you anywhere and the only outcome will be negative - for the farang. If it is something serious, call the police. They don't want any trouble harming the "good image" of Pattaya or anywhere else in Thailand. But whatever it is, get yourself out of the situation as gracefully as possible. You may not like it, but that's the way it is. Believe me, once you lose self control, now you've lost all control.

  9. Who is responsible for the confusion? Well.. 2 doors down from the Agate Hotel, is the "Jomtien Complex Office" (that's the name). They are the knife in the back for all bar owners in the complex. I had to deal with them once and it was a fucking nightmare. These are the morons who decided to put that stupid roof over the complex, with floods the upper level when it rains causing drips and leaks into all the bars below when it rains and in hot season makes the whole street a fucking sauna. These are also the morons who, without talking to any business owners, came up with "SUPERTOWN" and put big signs on the entrances. SUPERTOWN has been snubbled by all the business owners in the complex. Many actually put "Jomtien Complex" on the signs to their bars as a bigger protest. As for the website "gaysupertown.com" ... This is the hobby of "Banjo Jim". He's a cheap charlie who walks around the complex touching boys without tipping, and tries to use the fact he has a shitty website to garnish free drinks from bar owners.

Again, my recommendation is Cebu City. Not as crowded as Manila so easier to get around. And many Guys on Grinder or Romeo. Just sign up there and say what you are looking for... I also enjoy going outside the City. Like to Bantayan Island or over to Palawan. Both have beautiful beaches. Take a new friend with you to enjoy all there is to do. The Philippines is not just for Sex. Many sweet and fun guys or men there to go out, drink, disco, eat, and of course shop!! ENJOY

  12. When I'm traveling, usually it takes me three days to land, adjust my expectations, and start having fun. This time I started in day 2. After what is becoming my regular daily visit to the 17th floor, I went to Club 117. By the way, please do not hit me through PM message asking questions about what is going on there. As I was sharing in PM with the friend @Novarunner, I must be discrete. All I am going to say is that it provides me with many opportunities to be in the right place at the right time, and enjoy fun with some of the hotties, besides the pleasure of their friendship. After a quick stop over there, I headed to 117. I never liked the place, and my opinion is not changing this year. It was full, but I did not see one single guy that was hiring material for me. But indeed the sauna was packed with muscular guys jerking off everywhere. I know most of you love these guys talking to you while they show off their hard dicks, but that is not appealing at all to me. Rather than worshipping these guys, I enjoyed feeling worshipped and no candidates were on sight. I ordered a caipirinha that was one of the strongest drinks I ever had, I was tipsy after the first sip, and as soon as I finished my drink I left. The show had not yet started but there was no point to stay any longer, and I do not think I will return, not during this trip. I called an Uber, and joined Rhyheim & crew for diner at Fresh & Good in Ipanema. The food was really good, specially because he was paying for everything. I ordered there two caipirinhas that felt like water after 117's. Then we all called Ubers to go to our nests, except Rhyheim and Elijah who are lodging over there. Once at my base, I was very horny after flirting with all the porn stars, and got into Grindr. Although I am surprised at the low number of hits I have been receiving (compared to previous trips to Rio and to Buenos Aires), soon a 20 y.o. cutie connected who was only 233 m away. I did not want to bring him to my place, so I went to his. He is renting a room in a 2BR apartment, but his room mate was traveling so we could fuck with no inhibitions, Brazilian style. So I close Day 2 with my first sexual encounter, for free. Yesterday was Point's day, my favorite sauna, and tried to finish with my teleworking earlier. I did not visit the 17th floor but went directly to the sauna and arrived about 5. It was full of boys but very few clients. It was too early. The party started after 6:30. The place has been redecorated since my last visit two years ago. I only hang out in the bar and stage areas, never go to the sauna or the showers. I like that now there are more places to sit comfortably, but I do not like the wall screens they placed all around the stage. It is too much light, I had to run away from my first chosen corner. I loved the atmosphere, as I always do on Wednesdays. There were many, many GPs of all sizes, colors, and ages. Shortly after I arrived they started to parade, introducing themselves to me and trying to get a programa. The first ones are never the hottest ones, so I just chat with them for a few seconds, and then I thank them for their time, I offer them a drink, and apologize for not being interested in a programa with them. The first ones did not even take my offer for a drink. There were at least 6 guys I was interested in. My issue is that I am shy, and almost never make the first move. Fortunately, one of the guys I was interested in did exactly what I like. Instead of sitting or standing next to me stroking his hard dick, he introduce himself, hugged me and started to kiss me. 21 y.o., twinkish, define slim body, a typical Mineiro. His GP name is Gabriel. We had to wait 30' for a cabin. He asked me for 200R and I did not bargain, I am confident I could have gotten him for less. The sex was good, he made me feel that he was into me which is what I enjoy. We exchanged numbers and will probably invite him to my place to have a better experience. While he was by the reception counter waiting for our room, I stayed by the bar, flirted and connected with three more of my candidates, but just quick intros as I was committed. Once we were done with Gabriel, we had a drink upstairs where our cabin was, and then I returned to the bar. A beautiful Black boy that was in my list sat with me, stroking his dick. He was not comfortable kissing in public, first told me he was ativo and, when he noticed I was losing interest, switched to versa. I did not think he was a match, and let him go. A very nice Twink who was not my type but had invested a lot of his time on chatting with me, asked me for help to go back home, I was feeling happy and generous, and gave him 50Rs. The show was on, the other two boys I had connected with were busy, and I was tired. So my night at 202 ended about 10pm. I had two caipirinhas and a water, and invited boys with at least two caipirinhas and several waters and Red Bulls. My bill was 215 Rs. The night before, I had pay 107Rs in 117 for only one caipirinha and one water. I arrived home about and fell almost immediately asleep, happy and loving Rio.

  14. About three weeks ago I reported above on conversation I had with three massage workers I’ve known for 5+ years. Last night I again had opportunity to talk with them along with a fourth guy who’s a newcomer to the Bangkok scene. When the topic got around to tipping, I was taken aback by just how poorly some customers who come from non-tipping (north Asia) cultures compensate them. I heard accounts of receiving paltry tips as low as 20 baht for an hour’s work. One lad told me did a two-hour oil and was rewarded with 100 baht that same night. When I asked why doesn’t the boss of their shops have a minimum tip policy (like I’ve encountered outside of the downtown area) they say no shop wants to go first because bosses feel it would put their shop at competitive disadvantage. The other point that was quashed is that the the boys would prefer young, good looking guys to massage. All four said they’re not in it for the sex and see their work as a job that pays their bills. Although they expect their clients to be clean and “not smelly”, age or physical condition don’t influence them as much as the likelihood of being fairly rewarded. Based on my experience with shops that have a minimum tip policy, I’ve yet to encounter a sub-standard massage. When both they masseur and customer have same expectations, the results have all been positive in my experience.

  16. I arrived yesterday to Rio. Both flights were packed with no one single seat available. I had been flying for several years in the extra room class, but this time I did it in regular tourist class. The drop in quality service was remarkable (American). In the flight from Miami to Rio they did not even serve breakfast, and I think they did not do it not even in first class. I have a good sense of smell, and I did not smell any coffee or bakery being reheated. In the hope of having a free seat next to me, I booked the 13 row. It did not work. To make it worse, apparently it did get me bad luck. My rolling bag handler broke and (before boarding in DC my flight to Miami) I ended checking the bag to move comfortably in Miami. I will buy a new bag here. More airport bad luck. I was planning to settle in Rio's Admirals Club to telework, as my airbnb check in was at 3pm. Well, the Admirals Club was closed until 3pm, and the other VIP lounge I found would not take my Mastercards or visas to purchase a day pass. Remember, I was carrying my backpack and my bag formerly known as rolling. The most comfortable place I found was a Starbucks. So I spent my first hours in Rio sitting in a USA chain. Close to my check in time I called an Uber and was in my airbnb in Copacabana at 2:55. The place was not ready, the host was still cleaning up the mess left by the previous guests. He came down to pick me up about 3:30, and I was able to finish my teleworking in my unit while he was finishing the cleaning. The apartment is better than it looks in the website's pictures, so I am happy with that. Additionally, an extra surprise that made this airbnb really extraordinarily good. I chose it because of its location, just a few blocks away from Point, my favorite local GP sauna. However, is better than that. When I was in the lobby, Rhyheim Shabazz texted me and we found out that I rented my little one BR in the 13th floor, while he had rented a huge top roof apartment to host his collaborators and film while in Rio. We knew we were going to be together in Rio, but learning that we would be in the same building was a huge surprise for both of us. When I finish teleworking at 6pm local time (4 pm USA ET), I took the elevator to visit the crew. I arrived in the middle of this scene. After chatting a while, I wanted to go to Point. It started to rain, so I hurried up soon after 6:45. I made a mistake in my way to the sauna. A sin of overconfidence, I think. This is only my 4th visit to Rio, and although it is a fact that I feel at home and comfortable, it is also a fact that I do not know the city well. If you have walked your way to Point walking up Siquiera Campos from the beach, you know that shortly after the Atlantico Hotel, Siqueira curves towards the left, and another street starts following Siqueira previous straight trace. It was raining, I was in semi zombi status after my poor sleeping during the flight, and I took the wrong turn. Soon I realized that I was walking into a favela. I loved it. I walked up to the 700s in the hope of finding a perpendicular street cutting down back to Siquiera, but at the 800s I decided to turn around not because I was scared, but because the slop was very acute and I was sweating like a pig. I wonder what could have happened if I looked like a tourist, which I do not. Everyone seemed super friendly and greeting me with a smile. I turned back and I loved walking down after the demanding climbing. When I was close to the sauna the rain got worse and I could see the boys running away from the blue entrance, so I canceled my sauna plans and went back to my nest. I rejoined Rhyheim and went for a quick diner. At 8;30 I felt exhausted and tried to sleep unsuccessfully, my brain was still 2 hours earlier. Once I fell asleep, I am not sure what time, I slept with no interruptions not even for peeing until 7 am. I am confident I slept more than 8 hours. Needless to say, it was a sexless first day in town. I am unsure about my plans after 6 today. I am talking with an IG boy and perhaps we meet. Otherwise, I will weight what plan sounds then more appealing: hanging out with Rhyheim & friends or going to 117. I do know what my plan is tomorrow, I cannot miss a Wednesday at Point.

    Suvarnabhumi; the latest

Just arrived! I thought that travellers may welcome the latest news on what's happening at Suvarnabhumi, particularly in the light of the taxi situation and the impact of the conference taking place. My EVA flight was on time and, walking towards immigration, I was surprised how quiet the airport was. As for Immigration itself, my intention had been to head for the Fast Track but no need; there were no queues and I waltzed through. A charming young woman welcomed me warmly. It made a change from the usual Officer Grumpy I encounter! A good start but the luggage was very slow. As slow as it was when the airport was brand new and suffering teething problems. However, a SIM station is newly open directly next to the luggage belt and so I was able to buy one as I waited for perhaps thirty minutes. Now the taxis. As forecast , a huge queue. i walked further along- that's left from the exit- and to my surprise there was another taxi station I've never noticed before. And with no queue. So future travellers should ignore the queue directly in front of the exit. It's only fifty metres or so extra to walk. Feeling smug about this, i enjoyed thirty minutes of the journey ....until we arrived at Rama 4, Silom and Surawong. A frustrating crawl. The driver pointed out the Army on stand-by but I can't say that security was the issue. It was, of course, rush- hour. Back in dear old Tarntawan eventually, after three years away. Sixty visits? not sure. i recognised not one of the staff. Pleased to see that those old carpets had gone, at last. The rooms are much the same but the beds and linen are first class, better than at more expensive hotels I've stayed in here. And Tarntawan is certainly well-priced.

Pre covid I used to travel to Thailand in either May/June/July and found the weather was good for me (I was used to it) and one advantage of traveling then was less crowds in a lot of places. My next trip may well be next May with current plans to go overboard (4 guys if possible) in a massage place on my birthday😑

    Anal cancer

The best advice I can offer is to stop fearing that any physical problem you suffer is a symptom of cancer. I know it 's difficult but, in terms of your general well-being, those fears are probably more damaging than the symptoms you are noticing. How? I really haven't got the answer but I do know that googling symptoms is not the way.

  28. You would be able to swim every day. I do. It only rains for an hour or so. You never get prolonged rain. As said above, as long as nothing "bad" happens globally, the bars and massage shops will be open everyday, every month, year round. Just as they were before covid. Keep in mind that there is a large number of expats here. We keep the bars and massage shops alive in low season. Jomtien Complex is all host bars. No gogo bars. Head to Boyztown for gogo bars. Toy Boy, A bomb, X Boys, Dreamboys. Sunee Plaza has Winner Boy and Nice Boys, but it can be dead some nights, even now in the run up to high season. As for Bangkok, I think there are other members here who live in Bangkok and can give you better information. I live near to Jomtien.

    Thailand in May 2023

IF there is a stumbleblock then it will be yet another new outbreak of this dreadful virus-and noone will be able to predict. For the rest: be assured: what always strikes many is the really GIANT oversupply of about every commodity what the tourist may perhaps want and which what some money can be made. Available boys for some pleasure always outnumber the potential takers multifold. Wheather wise this is not really a good time- the later end of the Thai very hot and also very HUMID ´summer-a refresher then when finally the rainy season starts some weeks later. That is why the schools have their holidays here then.......For airlines and travelagencies this is the lower valley of the low season. Which mostly-I hope for you too-will also give the lowest airfares.

  35. From CNN Editor’s Note: Isaac Humphries is a professional basketball player for Melbourne United, part of Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL). He previously played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. The views expressed in this commentary are his own. Read more opinion on CNN. Opinion by Isaac Humphries One of the best feelings in the world is playing a game of professional basketball while on peak form.to perform in front of nearly 10,000 people a night; they’re cheering your name, they’re wearing your jersey. And all while you throw down a powerful dunk and flex to the crowd. Well, it should be the best feeling in the world, right? And for a brief moment, I guess it was. That was in 2020. I was 22 and playing with the Adelaide 36ers, two years before signing with my current team, Melbourne United. Now imagine what happens when all of that adrenalin comes to an end after a game. For me, the euphoria was gone the moment I drove out of the arena. I’d get home to my apartment in Adelaide’s coastal suburb of Henley Beach, and be all alone. I felt I had no choice but to be by myself. That’s when my wave of depression would hit the hardest. Over my entire career, there was no reality that existed where I could be an openly gay man while playing basketball. Until now. I’ve played everywhere – Kentucky, the NBA, Europe, the Australian national team – and it’s all the same: for the most part, being an athlete at that level is about making money, dating girls and being the best basketball player you can be. So I fell in line, no matter how awkward and weird I felt doing it. I just wanted to fit in and not draw any attention to myself. There were almost no examples of a male pro basketball player doing anything other than that, so I was resigned to the fact that my true life would start after I retired. Suvarnabhumi; the latest

Myself arrived MON-2 days ago by now, and as a tiger-senior was now able to use the priority lane anyway-with an utmost polite and efficient immi-veteran. I did see a fair Q at the normal gates and loads of signs for this APAC meeting to come up. And yes-then the wait for the luggage also took some 20 mins-it was an AB380 from EK-so the biggest plane there is. All over the airport and also in the luggage hall are dozens of stalls offering various SIMs. Took RailLInk into town and was in it just <60 mins after deplaning.

  38. Just a short extra: M15 was mentioned and to my surprise-just passing by-it was not along Intramara-but just off Pradipat-near the BTS Sapan kwai-there is a soi as a kind of square U-west side, just north of praysanee=post office+ filatelic Thai museum (for those who still know that some people may do collecting stamps from letters)- turn left and see G-beat (left hand side, near end of soi), then turn right-there are 2 posh looking hoStels there-for those who like to stay cheap and midst the action-then turn right again and on left hand side (north side going To Phahon rd) is M15-shop windows all closed off. G beat looks quite plush and has open windows-/it is indeed where once long ago the Bridge used to be, which moved there when it was expelled from a hotel compound along Pradiphat as thenine-where now yet another high-rise condo monstrosity stands. Cross rd by BTS-overpass there-on other side in a side soi is K-man. K-manB (or KB) seems rather now to be their main drag and is off Lard Prao-soi 101/corner of subsoi 8. Buses 8 and 44 run along Spn Kwai and the whole of Lard prao till Happyland. Along main rd are Amor and U-Sabay, side by side, but I think these do not offer ´extra´ as given..

    Nairobi Kenia

I was last week in Nairobi and now near Mombasa. Nairobi is in African standards clean and reasonably safe (not so much after dark though). International hotels allow visitors (they like money and are in a hospitality business). Grindr is exploding, but expect many tricksters and conmen. Pictured are often not the reality. Many guys are probably sincere but they look a bit rough and hotel security will be surprised when you enter hotel (xray or just sitting guy checking). I did not have courage to try out. In beach resort found a massage guy with own booth and he did extra, was ok. I guess experienced gay expats can have good time. Main thing to consider that most guys have smaller or severe income issues. And Africa is anyhow intense for European, so keep your head cool😀. ps while gaysex is illegal, the extreme worse case is an extortion. White guys are still somehow respected (colonial past pluss money), so the extertion is mostly problem for locals (“we tell your relatives”). Racism is sometimed an issue between locals (kenyans-somalis-hindus), not so much for visitors.

  42. Having been to Brazil more than a few times, I like the Brazilian attitude to threeways which is the more the merrier and they love fucking and getting fucked in groups. Boys in Thailand are not the same and tend to shy away from this. I am happy to have found some that enjoy it as much as I do. They are married so maybe a way to have sex with a guy without guilt but the passion and the free spirit during sex was the best. Both giving and taking all the way through and both involved me as much or as little as I wanted. Hard to find that perfect mix.

    Home Massage/Intramara 29

I walked Sutthisan Winichai Rd. again tonight and looked for Orgasms but found no sign of it. Although I could have missed it, I suspect it’s probably morphed into one of the other shops. These shops seem to experience frequent reincarnations.

  44. Today I went and had a look at all gay massage places in Saphan Khwai and Inthamara. M15 shares boys with 27M, and Inthra Massage with Home Spa. The others (GBeat, K Man Spa, KK Massage = former K-Why) seem to be independent.

  45. Visited this shop today. It’s in Saphan Kwai area on Sutthisan Winichai Rd., a few shop houses beyond the Intramara 27 intersection. There seems to be some association with another shop (15M). It’s similar in layout to nearby KK Spa with rooms on second floor and shower down the hall. Although they have a large photo array the manager will show you on his phone, it was about 7:30p.m. and there were three guys in the shop, of whom I chose a 25-year-old Lao guy (400 one hour oil). Upon leaving I asked manager if he had Line and he sent me a pics of his stable which is considerable. I would not be surprised is a large percentage were also Lao. Here’s a sampling:

  46. To be honest not tipping after you receive a happy ending, however disinterested the masseur is, would be completely unacceptable. That said I agree you shouldn’t just stay quiet about a bad massage. However I feel that saying something or not tipping *after* the massage is already over, is too late. It’s like going to a restaurant, eating the food completely, and then complaining about the quality and refusing to pay afterwards. If you don’t like the food, you try one bite and then you immediately inform the staff. With massages the same is true, if he’s disinterested and bad you can ask him to massage harder or let him know how you like it, and give him a chance to improve. If he doesn’t, you can reduce the tip (or give none at all if truly bad). However when it comes to happy endings if you don’t want to tip you should also decline it. These boys do want and rely on the big tip they get after a happy ending, so the best way for you to communicate to them that their attitude/massage is bad is by refusing the happy ending.

    Bali scene?

Thank you @macaroni21. First of all, I do distinctly remember many full-on-body contact during massage while in Bali. The way it happens differs from what normally happens in Thailand (I do have some Thai experience but it is more limited than my Balinese one). During the 'regular' massage session (i.e. the first 45-60 min of your 'massage' experience), nothing happens. The masseur remains dressed and he will - very gently but firmly - place your hands and arms on the massage table in a way that guarantees no 'accidental' touches. Then, when you are on your back (and most likely, fully erect by that time) and he is finishing your regular massage, he will ask you 'Do you still want extras?' Remember, you have to pre-agree the extras - be very specific what you want - before the regular massage session starts. When you say yes, he will lock the door to the room/cubicle and remove all his clothes very quickly. Now, if you want a full naked body-to-body massage, you should tell that to your masseur before the regular session starts. If he refuses (that happens very rarely), you simply go back to the front desk and request another performer. As the full body-to-body massage has already been pre-agreed, this is what he will start with now - and 15-20 min later, he will move to other parts of the 'extras' that you've pre-ordered. He will definitely climb onto the table for the extras. I've had this service many dozens of times over many years, and I have been very rarely disappointed. As to the traffic and where to stay... The trafic was still bad in 2019 though they did try to introduce one-way streets with dubious results (it will take you much less to get to your destination but then it will take you twice as long as before to get back to your hotel — so overall, you still spend the same time in traffic jams). My advice is to walk. If you place yourself strategically (see below), it won't be more than a 40 min - 1h maximum leisurely stroll from your hotel to the massage parlour. It not only saves the money but is very pleasant, actually. I always stay at beach front hotels, which means I'll have to walk 5 min to Seminyak Square and about 40 min to Jl. Sunset Road. Massage parlours are rather scattered all over Kuta/Seminyak but the bars - if that's what you are after - are very compactly packed by Marriott Courtyard, which is about 10-15 min walk from the beach. As I recall, Primera Hotel Seminyak (it is a 3-* place, I think) and Marriott Courtyard (slightly more upmarket but still very affordable) are - literally - nextdoor to the bars, they are within 1-3 min walk from them and are on the same street. Elegantz and Adam's Apple are on the same street (effectively) but within 30 min walking of each other. It is slightly to the north of Seminyak proper and about 1h walk from the bars. They are on a street that goes away from the beach into the island (Jl. Batu Belig that later on becomes Jl. Tangkuban Perahu). If you stay somewhere near W Hotel and take the short route, it will be a 10-15 min walk from the hotel to Adam's Apple (Adam's Apple is closer to the beach while Elegantz is much further down). Generally speaking, walking makes much more sense than taking a cab: you'll spend the same time getting to your destination but walking is free. If you choose to stay near the bars, it will be about an 1h walk to get to Elegantz and Adam's Apple. This is when you should consider if taking a cab will be more sensible. You can take a cab to get there and walk back, for example (popping into a restaurant or a bar on your way back to your hotel). Overall, there isn't a magical place where you can stay and be within 5-10 min walking distance from everything: while (almost) all the gay bars are compactly located at the same place, massage parlours are scattered all over, and depending on which one you'll end up fancying more, you'll still need to travel there. Having said that, the scary reports of hours spent in Balinese traffic jams are often exaggerated: it might be true if we are talking long-distance travel but if we are talking covering a distance of 3-5 miles maximum, it is most certainly a huge exaggeration. Yes, you might spend 25 min in a cab doing a journey that normally takes only 7-10 min, but it is not that bad. I hope the above helps! I'd still be very much interested to know how Seminyak looks now, in late 2022: remember, all my information is based on my personal experience of November 2019. I do wonder how the pandemic affected them all. I did a quick Google search and it looks like all the places mentionned above (apart from M-Spa at Paul's Place) are still operational and, surprisingly, their price level is still (approx) the same as I remember from 3 years back. But what about the level of service? Any recent trip reports, anyone? Thank you all in advance!

    Bali scene?

I think it might be a good time to revive this topic and see if there are any up-to-date reports on what's happening in Bali now (Seminyak and Kuta in particular). I was visiting Seminyak for many years and my last time there was in November 2019 and I can only confirm the excellent succinct summary of @camsi1975. I've never been a fan of bars but Mixwell, BaliJoe and the bars nearby were still going strong then. (If you don't know, gay bars are tightly packed next to each other at Jl. Camplung Tankuk within 2-3 min walk from Marriott Courtyard. If you are into this kind of entertainment, it is both convenient - you don't have to cross the island to get from one bar to another - and inconvenient as it might be quite some distance from where you are staying.) The easiest and safest way to find company over there is to use M2M massage parlours, of which there are many. M-Spa at Paul's Place (Jl. Kayu Aya, just opposite the flea market and 2 min walk from either the Seminyal Square or the Oberoy Hotel, Ku De Ta club or Seminyak Hotel) has always been my favourite for the simple reason that it was - literally - 2 min walk from my favourite hotel. Admittedly, it was the main attraction of Paul's Place: the place was a bit seedy but the quality of the massage was generally quite high. It was a proper massage parlour rather than a poorly disguised knocking house though a happy ending at the very least was always implied in their service. Sadly, Paul's Place (i.e. both M-Spa upstairs and a lovely antiques' shop downstairs run by the same gang) was closed in early 2019 - to my utter devastation. I'd be very much interested to know if the place has been re-opened: Google says it is only 'Temporarily Closed' now while several months ago it was marked as 'Permanently Closed'. When I was there in November 2019, some preparations for a full refurbishment of the building were taking place (that was long overdue in any case) but, presumably, because of COVID, nothing was happening (as far as I know) for more than two years. It will be a huge shame if Paul's Place is gone for ever as it was a legendary institution of Bali serving the clients for several decades, as I was told at the time. When I was there last time, the price of a 90 min massage was circa IDR 300-400k (proper high-pressure full body massage, done very professionally) with IDR 200-400k expected for the 'extras'. Overall, you should expect to pay IDR 600-700k for the whole experience, which, as I was told, might go up to IDR 1000k or even more if you have some very particular requests. I've never paid more than IDR 700-750k though. To get the most of your experience, it would be most advisable to explain to the manager downstairs (very briefly) what your expectations are, as far as the physical/anatomical characteristics of your masseur are concerned, so that he could point the right guy to you. As soon as you are in the room, it is most advisable to be very direct and, firstly, order the 'extras' in advance of the massage and agree on their details. The boys there never looked too close at the clock and in most cases, delivered what was requested quite well. The selection was also reasonably wide-ranging: up to 4 guys working the shift, mostly in their early 20s but professionally trained as masseurs; once or twice a week, a daddy was there too (mid-40s, good shape, surprisingly well-endowed, good masseur but rather cocky and arrogant). I've never had any problems with them asking for additional tips/more money (sadly, this is rather common in other establishments) as, as a regular client, I was even given a 15% discount from my 2nd or 3rd visit of the season (the discount covers the official price of the massage only, not 'the extras'). You pay for 'the extras' to the boy on copletion and, having had your shower and dressed, you pay for the massage bit at the till on your exit - you can even be given a till receipt, if you need it. Normally, it wasn't necessary to book your time in advance - you just turn up at your pleasure and see if the goods on the display during this particular shift take your fancy. Four-hands massage was also available there (approx. 1.5-2 times the price of a regular massage). Their opening hours were from about mid-day till about 8-9pm the latest, and the last couple of hours were not the best time to turn up as there were only 1 or 2 boys available. Their working hours surprised me first but then it was explained to me that they simply don't want the drunken clientele who could turn up on their way from the restaurant or a bar back to their hotel for a messy quicky as they are difficult to manage. Pretty much any massage parlour I've visited in Kuta and Seminyak operates the same way. They differ only in terms of their interior (some are more upmarket and new, others are less glamourous) and some have more emphasis on massage while others have massage only as an afterthought. I'd strongly recommend go for the former rather than the latter: guys are much more professional there, and you get two services for the price of one (an excellent massage and some good sex to follow). I've never been a huge fan of the Elegantz Spa (I think they simply overcharge for the same service) but if you fancy a more upmarket experience and want to visit a sauna (why would you when you are in the tropics?), then it is the place to go. M2 Spa at Jl. Raya Patitenget would be my preferred choice, under these circumstances, though: in my opinion, they beat Elegantz. Banana Spa and Adam's Apple are on the other side of the spectrum: they are more about sex than about massage and consequently, they don't do either well enough - that's my personal opinion based on my personal experience, of course. Banana Spa position themselves as a club but their concept of a club is an outdoor pool where you are free to splash after your session (why would you?). Adam's Apple is so unremarkable that, while I've been there before, I can hardly remember the experience (it is not necessarily a bad thing, of course). All of these places offer outcalls to your hotels but, in my opinion, it is not worth it: it will be easier and cheaper for you to get a cab to go there by yourself and return back to your hotel. And of course, there is plenty of offer on online apps - disguised as 'massage', mostly. In some cases, they will be professional masseurs but 80-90% of them are not, and what they offer is not worth the money they are asking for it (I am not talking about massage now). Taking them into your room is possible but a bit of a hassle (you'll have to go downstairs to fetch them from the security post at the hotel's entrance). Generally, it is not worth it: just go to one of the (many) massage parlours and have fun safely and cheaply there. I'd be interested to know if anyone has been to XXL Men Spa? What are your impressions? And most importantly, how has the scene changed since 2019? Are M2, Elegantz, Banala Spa, Adam's Apple, etc still open? Are they what they used to be? Or are there any changes? I hope to visit Bali again next year and some up-to-date information will be most helpful. Thank you in advance!

  50. OK. So, I went today as they put out videos from TikTok and this lad captured my attention. The place is easy to find but there are other gay massage places in the area. It was quick on highway in Grab. The lobby is small and they show you the guys on the phone. I called ahead as I only wanted one. He was waiting for me when I arrived. The manager spoke good English and we had a nice conversation. The closest BTW is Saphan Kwai. They use to have a lot of beer bars in that area I liked but have not been in 20 years. The room was OK. It was on the floor. The bathroom was fine but 3 flights up stairs. Cost for massage is 500 baht and minimum tip for boy is 500 baht. Both are for 1.5 hours. I chose a top and he was a true top but a great massage and nice lad and fulfilled my TikTok fantasy! I loved his tats!
