The trip from Bkk to Pattaya and our brief visit there was a lot of fun. The driver (who was paid for his work) was a friend of one in our group and did a really good job of escorting us to the various venues when there. He also knew the quickest route to get to Pattaya. Once out of Bkk we had a hassle free easy journey. On the way to Jontiem Complex (JC) we stopped off on Beach Road for some sea air. Driving around Pattaya I get the impression a lot of Indian visitors much more than previously. Anyway: At JC we had a stroll up and down that soi. Had a drink at @homebar jontium before having a very tasty Thai meal at Diverium bar which is in the complex. Speaking for myself I was impressed with JC. Mainly open air "bar beers". Comfortable seating and plenty of eye candy. I got good vibes from the area, cute twinky type lithe guys and apparently the JC stays open until 2.00am so I am told- though some establishment in the complex may close earlier. I get the impression that JC is on the whole well run and managed, very much geared to appealing to the farang customer who likes a certain type. And also: Whilst in Soi 4, Silom, Bkk there is a constant stream of mainly straight tourists walking up and down the soi wanting to be shocked; none of that -or a lot less --in JC. Next stop Boys Town (BT). Walking around got a bit dismayed by the area as Covid really did devastate and the surrounds with abandoned out of business places an eye sore. That said every individual bar we went to had some nice lookers in varying numbers. Actually went inside for drinks at Toy Boys, BBB, Dream Boys and X Boys .Did not have time to get to A-bomb and walked past Pikky bar (open air bar) though did not see many guys there. It was a Thursday night and overall a distinct lack of customers.We caught the show at BBB which was not bad.The night I was there despite some women customers they were not an irritation but maybe different on other nights. A lot of those on the stage in BBB trying to give the impression they are "real men" but quite frankly the likes of Tawan , Jupiter, Dream boy Patpong, and so on in Bkk much nearer the mark on the score. And as to the Dream Boys near BT it was so lacking customers the boys were sitting inside and outside waiting for a customer to arrive before going on the stage.Yet some head turning cuties when they did get on the stage. Nevertheless to quote gayinpattaya who writes above: "The fact is, Jomtien Complex is where it's at now" Difficult to argue with that ; though of course some people find BT a more convenient location. Anyhow by now after midnight 30 , next stop (it was set to close at 2.00am) : Sinlapin Esan Third Road. Lively place with live music, singers and dancers on the stage. Customers a mix of straights and gays. A lot of dancing in the aisles and some nice lookers around. Better to go there in groups or with others. Very much Esan music style. Seems you either buy beer or a bottle of whisky. If you like neither can only go for non alcoholic. Nearing closing time we had just about had enough and off we go to be chaffeured back home, with many nice memories.

Since it was a relatively short trip, I decided not to go against my circadian rhythm. My eyelids usually feel like the heaviest objects in the world around 3-8 pm BKK time. So I took a quick nap. My partner in crime has arrived that afternoon and he was staying one floor above under one same roof. Indeed it was exactly the same room where i stayed during my previous trip. That room had served me and my guests very well and I was quite confident that my friend would love it too. We decided to start our trip with Jupiter that evening. Since it was halloween, jupiter had a special show. Compared to my two visits to BKK during pandemic, things have significantly changed. IMHO, jupiter these days has the most decent shows and the highest numbers of handsome muscular guys. Admission was 400 baht (one drink included) and off fee remained the same at 500 baht. On entry, it was a party of two and it magically grew to four on the exit. Around midnight or so, my friend and myself found ourselves walking happily in pairs, under the yellow lights of Thaniya back to Raya.

Sorry guys I kept this thread neglected for good while busy doing nothing i. e. travelling. So if you recall I had unexpected reunion with boy not seen many years. We had great time together but in the morning, after he left, not that he was in rush to do so, I was back to reality which sadly was that I, m without luggage. Went to UNESCO Foodland alone for breakfast, packed very little I had and went to airport. Collected my luggage without any issues being provided instructions where to go by phone yesterday only to learn that my flight to Phnom Penh with ThaiVietAir was moved from 11 am to 17.30pm. Joy of flying with discounts I guess. So blood pressure up again and quick decision to check who flies to PP next and for how much. Bangkok Airways it was, in 90 minutes. Quick trip to mezzanine to check price, 5500 baht, sold. Other ticket may be wasted but half day in Phnom Penh gained. If I left at 17.30 I, d be there well after dark so no, I rather lose ticket. Straight to check in and shortly I was in the air, after about 36 hours there ending my 23rd trip, shortest ever but not boy deprived, leaving Thailand forever (until next time of course)

But this place is like fucking Monrovia, Africa during the Sierra Leonian civil war! It’s too much shit. After dark the female prostitutes come out to give an extra kick to the place. More of a kick in the nutsack if you ask me. So at night your strolling around through a gone to waste junkyard city filled with litter and dirty hoes. At the beach they rip you a new asshole every time they present the bill. You start of with a (overpriced) 200 peso beer and 450 pesos snack, but hey…you’re at the beach enjoying people watching. You and up with a 1500 pesos bill because of taxes (shitty, but normal), service charge and a fucking ‘table charge’ because you use the table as 1 person (eventho the rest of the tables are empty). Yes, I hooked up with hot guys and checked out the local love motel for a trio (since my hotel was strictly no visitors). But that prime meat can easily be found in Santo Doming or be taxied in from here. So: Bocha Chica? Fuck it. Skip it. Yes towel dance is back and there were a couple others as well with lots of flashes. I went to Jupiter twice - one was a special halloween show and the other one was on a midweek night. You're correct, it happens a lot less in Jomtien Complex than Silom Soi 4. Having said that, when it does happen in Jomtien Complex it's normally a straight Russian couple, and their look is often more than shock. Sometimes it's pure horror. It's most humorous when this figure it out halfway down the street. They stop in their tracks, then have to decide to continue, or backtrack the way they came. Strangely many backtrack, which makes them really stand out. Russians, by large, sure do seem to be very homophonic still.

About to take the train. Station is about 30 minutes drive from old city giving Luang Prabang distinction of having airport much closer ( 10 mins vs 30 )to the center than railway station. Station is impressive but is not much more than just gigantic waiting room with toilets and water filing points. Ticket counters are outside , at the far end of building in the picture. One can buy food and drinks outside in oarking lot in numerous stalls so stack up there as there are no shops in building itself. Security us airport like and I got confiscated almost empty can of AXE deodorant due to it being flammable. Good for a plane but not for train it seems, at least here, who would think ? on the platform ordinary train on it,s way from Vientiane to Boten ( border )

From Thai PBS World The Russian Embassy informed the Thai Foreign Ministry today (Thursday) that President Vladimir Putin will not attend the upcoming APEC leaders meeting on 18th and 19th November 2022. First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov will represent him at the meeting in Bangkok. Putin had earlier pledged to come to Bangkok for the meeting, to express his views on economic cooperation. The war in Ukraine, which Russia started is, however, consuming his time, making it impossible for him to attend. For the ASEAN-related summits in Phnom Penh and the G20 summit in Bali, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will represent Putin. Both summits have invited representatives of Ukraine as guests of the hosts. Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will take part in the two summits. In Phnom Penh, he will sign the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, along with Spain. In related news, Korean Prime Minister Han Duck Soo will represent President Yoon Sok Yeol at the APEC meeting. In Phnom Penh, on the side-lines of the ASEAN-related summits, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-Ochoa is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Yoon on 11th November. Construction workers doing new sidewalks on Silom Rd. made quick work of installing a new entrance/driveway for Soi 4. The new—and outrageously noisy—bar at the opposite side, BiPolar, has become a Friday-Saturday only club 🙂. A new Thai eatery, Silver Sand, occupies it otherwise. It’s worth glancing at the menu if for no other reason than to gaze at the very cute captain within. Although I can’t confirm it, it’s my hope that BiPolar will confine itself to the second floor above the restaurant, thereby hopefully reducing the blare.

I will explain more why this is my last trip at the end of my trip summary! So we made it safely home this morning after our 4 day trip to SDQ. we arrived Thursday and had all our guys lined up thanks to 3 of the fans I made on social media. If you don't have at least 2 social media accounts then you are doing yourself a huge disservice when visiting SDQ. You can meet a lot of those guys and their friends and build a connection with them before you leave. Believe me, it will make your a lot more enjoyable and in so many ways. This is my 23rd trip to Thailand and it started very well as I managed to get, unusual in those expensive times, still very good rate so decided to visit few countries in the region. Started very well with plane full and departing on time. I usually travel with carry on only and so did this time but airline appealed before boarding to check carry on as dur to full load. Several. People decided to be good citizen among them me. And let me know, it was not a good idea which I learned shortly after take off. Captain announced that due to headwinds we can expect as much as 70 minutes delay, estimation proved exact. For me it meant that comfortable 90 minutes of connection time at Narita become in instant hair rising 20. And no, I was not naive to expect that in such time my luggage will be reloaded and very doubtful even if I will be reloaded. Japan proved efficient, there were scores of staff pointing into right direction not only 4 of us, Bangkok bound but also at least 40- 50 Manila bound Philippines. So sprint through the security, run to the Thai Air plane, walk of shame through cabin as my seat was in the last row and 10 minutes late we departed to arrive in Bangkok on the dot actually. Of course there was lady by conveyor belt with my name to inform me that luggage will arrive tomorrow and it was, quite liberating to go to the train station with tiny day pack. In May I took first train of the day from Swampy, this time I managed still to catch last one from Siam to Sala Daeng, walked through still busy Thaniya to Raya. Front door was closed as expected since it was past midnight but sign pointed to service elevator in the back. As veteran of that place I knew process anyways, there was still somebody on the reception, they checked me in smoothly requiring 1000 baht deposit. And I found myself in paradise again.

Tonight thursday is my last full day in Rio and then off to São Paulo! Not a lot has changed in the 21 years i started coming to Rio!(oct.21,2001)! both Pointe and 117 were busy on their respective nights! with guys for everyone’s tastes!Last night for example at pointe there were somewhere over 50 working guys and that many customers + it was packed! Good to know. I don’t sunbathe at my age due to dermatological cancer risks so no draw for me anyway. May as well stick to the people watching part right in downtown El Condé etc. I have daytime strolled along the coast road in south Colonial zone for a not unpleasant view of the water and there is a decent small peninsula or outcrop somewhere in that area. But Montesino Beach there would be a scavenger’s bonanza if they could get pennies by plastic weight/volume.

Some of these guys are still in circulation in the Saphan Kwai shops. But there seems to be daily additions of newbies trying their luck. It’s not for Thai only, although farangs certainly in the minority.

It went smoothly although at times it felt like night train as so much of track is in tunnels so it was dark behind the window. Vientiane station also far from the center which considering is on flat plain is bit surprising. Overall very positive experience, with ironed schedule either city may be day trip destination from the other. All that checking and herding is nuisance but we need to understand that for locals rail travel is unheard of experience until last year so thet need to be taught how to find a space and behave. As for your question, if you just wanna soak up the atmosphere for an hour or so I suggest arriving a little before 1 a.m. By then you won't have to worry about waiting in line. (There's actually a pretty thorough body check that slows things down when everyone arrives around the same time starting at about 10.) Plus, the place will be full by then, the crowd will be into one another and the music, and there will be plenty of excitement in the air to be swept away by. By the way, a lot of people start leaving around 2:30. If you do make it to one of these parties, walking back to Silom at 3 in the morning is for some reason SO MUCH FUN! It's a long walk, but I highly recommend the experience. You have an hour or so to trade notes -- Hey, remember that hot French guy who was hitting on you? -- then, when you turn the corner onto Silom, it's like a whole nother party has been waiting for you. You know what? I sometimes think about this danger when I'm in DJ Station or G.O.D., but these big rave-type parties don't seem to be that kind of packed (though if I ever do make it to one again I'll definitely look around for the fire exits when I arrive). They're going to move next year's party back to a huge ball room on the 31st floor of Centara Grand, kind of behind Central World but part of the same complex. They used to hold the parties there until five or six years ago. It's a much larger hall, with higher ceilings and much bigger chill-out areas where everyone can mingle. Especially good for mingling is the balcony. Despite not having a spectacular view it does feel intoxicating to be outside that high up, enjoying a chat, having a smoke. Such a great feeling. Then there's all those Adonises waiting for you to join them inside. I had so many great nights with a Thai friend in this ball room. I miss him so much. Wanna go back. If only for old time's sake.

The new fares are expected to come into operation in the next two weeks. The Transport Ministry announced a month ago that taxi fares in Thailand would be increased after eight years of stagnation. The department of transport made the price increase conditional – taxi drivers must improve their service and avoid refusing to serve passengers. More than 200 taxi drivers gathered in front of the Transport Ministry office yesterday morning to demand an answer on the fare increases as there had been no development for a month. Last month taxi associations asked the government to increase the standard fare rates. Drivers asked for the basic fee to start at 45 baht for 1,600 to 1,800cc taxis and 50 baht for 2,000cc taxis and above. At the moment, basic fares for every taxi in Thailand start at 35 baht. A journey between 2 to 10 kilometres costs 5.5 baht/kilometre, and a journey between 11 to 20 kilometres onwards costs 6.5 baht/kilometre) The advisor to the Minister of Transport, Wirut Pimpanit, met with four taxi associations yesterday afternoon. Wirut told the associations that the government could not increase the fares they proposed but would compromise. Second day - Sunday Today is the day my neighbor to the north - my twin brother from another mother and another father will arrive. We coordinated before our trips so that we could spend next 7-8 days together in BKK. He will not arrive until some time in the afternoon, and I was already up since 6ish, nice and fresh, fully charged. So I decided to get a massage in my room, contacted sabaidee through Line and a twunk was already in my bed in no time. Vacation is never long enough but this particular one was unusually short. I landed around 11:30 pm on a Saturday night and there was no line at the immigration desks. After 40 min or so, after collecting my checked luggage, I was already on my way to Silom. That hot and humid wave hitting your face once stepping out of the glass doors never changed. The taxi costed me about 425 baht from the airport to Raya hotel. Been a repeat customer, check in was a breeze. They still need 1000 baht cash or your credit card number as a deposit. Until this trip, I used to stay at grand deluxe rooms but this time, I decided for a change- a suite room. The difference is a good size kitchenette with utensils, a regular size fridge, and a small microwave. Grand deluxe rooms are open hall types and this suite room is more like one bedroom apartment with separate sitting and dinning areas. As others have mentioned here, their front entrance is closed at nights and we will need to use the elevator in the back. By 1ish, I was all settled in my room. Despite a brief thought of roaming around in Silom, more than 24 hours trip made me pass out after a nice and long shower.

Netizens are furious after seeing the trending hashtag on Thai Twitter: “18-year-old kills 14-year-old” (#เด็ก18ฆ่าเด็ก14).The death of Fluck occurred on November 3, at 12.20pm at the young boy’s house in Saen Sook village in the Meung district in the central province of Rayong. Fluck’s family informed Channel 3 reporters that Dome and another teenager visited Fluck’s house to talk outside his home. Fluck refused to go outside and talk to Dome which made him angry so he entered the victim’s home and attacked him, using some broken electric wire to whip Fluck’s head. Fluck’s family tried to separate the two but, in the melee, Fluck fell to the floor and had a seizure. Fluck was sent to hospital immediately for treatment but the teenage boy later died after four days of treatment. The hospital recorded the cause of death as an acute subdural hemorrhage. With respect, that's a dumb comment. I suppose you haven't noticed the disastrous times the hotel industry in much of the world have faced over nearly 3 years now. I have a friend who has been lucky to remain employed in Thailand but on a much reduced salary. He despairs that so many of his friends lost their jobs as hotels either shut or tried to stay open with very few visitors. I also have a friend in Vietnam who lost his great job at a Six Senses Resort for two years and worked on his parents farm. I'll happily pay a little bit more to help keep them and other staff in work and hotels back into profit. I frankly doubt if anyone is remotely concerned if @BiggusDikkus stays at a Bill Heineke or any other hotel again. Another silly comment given what the world has gone through over three years. No one has to stay at any Bill Heineke Hotel - or any hotel that has surcharges. There are so many of them around. If you think you're going to be left with a bad taste in your mouth, don't stay! It's perfectly simple. I wonder if @dscrtsldnbi and @BiggusDikkus take a similar view of the surcharges which have piled up and will continue to pile up in the airline industry as it tries to recoup its massive losses.
