365 The River massage
Marc in Calif and 5 others reacted to reader for a topic
I’ve had this shop on my short list since I first posted about it and I finally checked it out today. Pleased to give it a 👍. Located directly below the Bang Pho Station on the Blue line (you were right, TMax), it’s the last stop before train crosses the river. Travel time from Silom about 35 minutes. LINE ID: 365theriver Reservations are recommended. They currently have 16 photos to choose from and that’s how I booked my session. In addition to choosing the masseur and time desired in advance, you have the option of selecting a “B2B” type of massage (minimum tip 1,000, without B2B 500). I selected one hour aroma oil (600) and the B2B. I was quite satisfied with my choices. This is a small shop but we’ll maintained and I found it very clean. Rooms on second and third floors with easily negotiable stairs. Rooms have standard massage table with shower down the hall. The service is professional and friendly and my masseur, a 27-year-old Thai, was well trained. Although he spoke no English, we had no problems communicating (when I pointed to him and then the table, he knew immediately that I wanted to trade places). I was given a bottle of water on arrival. After the massage, my guy brought in a small tray with some good warm tea, apple slices and a small wrapped chorale snack. I don’t know if this is standard practice or because it was my first visit but it left a good impression. This is the third shop (out of three) that I’ve traveled some distance to reach and none have disappointed.6 points -

My TV watching now goes back 60 years and there are lot of programmes that I have enjoyed, but the ones I remember with particular fondness are the ones that made me laugh, some have already been mentioned, Dad's Army, Yes Minister/Prime Minister, Blackadder, but I would add, Men Behaving Badly, Last of the Summer Wine, It Aint Half Hot Mum, and The Carry On Films. But also as others have said, I very rarely sit and watch TV now. I might put the news headlines on for a few minutes each day. Otherwise I tend to watch DVDs or something off NetFlix depending on my mood and how much time I have.2 points

From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Thai and Cambodian border police at Aranyaprathet and Pong Nam Ron, a three hour drive from Pattaya, have detailed the rules for foreigners wishing to obtain a further 45 days to extend their stay in Thailand. The new entry stamp can later be extended for a further month at Thai immigration offices for 1,900 baht. The scheme is popular with Brits, western Europeans, Americans and Australians. Borey San, a Cambodian clearance officer, said it was essential that applicants register with a Pattaya tour and minibus operator in advance of travel to the border. The company must then send a passport copy to the border post of choice to check that the applicant is eligible for the new permission. Unregistered individuals arriving at the frontier under their own steam could not be serviced the same day and would need to spend several days or a week in Cambodia on vacation pending a review of their application. The alternative was to remain in Thailand to risk overstay. A Thai immigration captain explained that most nationalities could take advantage of the visa run scheme, but there were 19 countries whose citizens could not get a new permission at any land border. The countries included China, India, several central Asian “stans” and a dozen states in Africa and the Indian Ocean. Separately, no individual could take advantage of the scheme more than twice in a 12 month period to prevent foreigners living permanently in Thailand by regular border trips. He said prior submission of passport copies was necessary to avoid international visitors wasting their time by turning up unannounced. Jessataporn Bunnag, owner of Thai Visa Center located next to Jomtien immigration bureau, said the new scheme was introduced last month after the Thai government confirmed its willingness for foreigners to stay longer without the hassle of applying for prior visas from Thai embassies in their home countries before travel. “The important thing is to show us your passport well in advance so that you can be sure you are eligible for the extra time by this particular route,” he said. Thai Visa Center offers the service, including all costs and even lunch, for 5,500 baht. Other companies may look cheaper, but there can be hidden extra costs such as the price of the Cambodian entry visa (US$30 or around 1,200 baht) or the minibus fare. Cambodian visa runs, which can also be done from Bangkok, disappeared during the Covid pandemic as land crossings remained closed long after airports reopened.2 points

Came across a new (to me, anyway) massage shop in Bangkok: 365 The River. Although its Twitter site is just about entirely in Thai, you can gain some perspective from the photos and illustrations. From what I can make out, it may--or may not--be located somewhere in vicinity of Bang Sue station. A more diligent search may be productive for those lucky enough to be in town.1 point

If it was not such a disaster, it would be a farce! Boris Johnson who was an ardent remainer, sees an opportunity, turns 180 degrees and leads the campaign to get Britain out of the European Union. He knows his Conservative Party has never been fully wedded to the EU and sees an opportunity, His Brexit campaign wins - just! He manoeuvres his way to the Premiership and starts a Trrump-like litany of disasters. At least he achieves Brexit for which his government and civil servants were not prepared and has led not only to exporters having to fill in reams of paperwork, but to a whole host of other problems that could have been foreseen - but old Boris was not interested. As long as Brexit was achieved, he had completed the job. British orchestras touring Europe will have been far down the list, but what used to be a simple matter has taken on the proportions of a a massive exercise with alll manner of new paperwork and huge visa fees for parties of 100 or so required for each country visited. As the late Queen cut a sad and lonely figure at the funeral of her husband of 73 years, Boris was holding an illegal party at his official residence, one of many he held there when his government's advice to the British people was to avoid parties. He then lied to the House of Commons. He became the first British Prime Minister to be censured by the British Police. With his political party fed up of his lies and bluffing, his Ministers resigned. The party then kicked him out. The party's selection process for a new Prime Minister is one of the most ridiculous in all politics. Of the 8 who stood for election, including some highly qualified and much admired like Jeremy Hunt who had been pro-European and served many years in the PM's cabinet (although not Johnson's) including as Foreign Secretary, the voting process restricted to Members of Parliament short listed two of the weakest candidates. These were then put out for a vote to just a tiny number of Party members around the country - 173,000, the majority by far over 65 years old. Ms. Truss who had never been a favourite in the early polls of MPs then won and became Prime Minister. She was apointed by the Queen just two days before the monarch's death on 6 September. She then announces a bold economic policy promising to get Britain moving and on track to prosperity. Then what happens? The bold tax initiative explodes like the Hiroshima bomb. Absoltuely no one believes it will work. The markets collapse, sterling falls to its lowest level in decades, the Bank of England has to step in to buy bonds to prevent mortage companies from going bankrupt, she fires her self-chosen Chancellor (Finance Minister) and close friend, reverses course and goes before the British pubic yesterday. It's another disaster. SHe is forced to bring back Jeremy Hunt and install him as Chancellor. No doubt in order to accept this poisoned chalice he has rold her that he will be his own boss and to hell with her economic agenda. Her time as Prime Minister may last until Christmas. It may not last beyond next week. Britain is an a dreadful mess!1 point

The return of Super A
ChristianPFC reacted to reader for a topic
I was walking along the Road New Twlight bar is on when three guys stationed by the side of road approached me. “Many new boys, come see”. They gestured toward what at one time formed the lead in the trifecta of sleaze—Super A, Golden Cock and Nature Boy. Sleaze. Really hadn’t seen much signs of it since returning so as the whore monger that inhabits all of us here I felt duty bound to check it out. Stepping through the door of Super A was like time travel, returning to my last visit over a dozen years prior. It was discomforting to see how nothing had changed: sofas to the right, tiny stage to the left and bar in back. Two customers were sitting with guys. I sat down in the unoccupied sofa and order a beer (200). Soon the show, more of a lineup actually, got under way. One guy stood on the stage and moved his arms slightly from side to side. Seven boys in street clothes stood to his right doing nothing, all with the look, “what am I doing here.” The same thought crossed my mind but I cautioned myself to give it a chance. Four or five minutes passed and nothing changed. The mamasan signaled to everyone to sit down. That prompted me to pay my tab and make for the door behind an Asian customer toting his bottle of beer. If I felt anything as I walked away it was sympathy for those who made up the ragtag crew whose vacant expressions spoke volumes. It can be challenging to get a new bar up and running, and sometimes too much of a one. But never under estimate the sleaze factor to prevail in the end.1 point -

Whether we be a top or a bottom, the prostate in gay men is hugely important to our sexual / social life. 14 years ago (when I was 59) I was diagnosed with prostate cancer ("PC"). Whenever we're told we have Cancer, we assume the worst; oftentimes, for good reason: the "end" is near!. My PC was diagnosed as consuming 12% of my prostate. Instead of "watchful waiting", I chose to have my prostate removed (it doesn't belong in me, get it out!). Anticipating the Urological Surgeon's caution that it was likely I'd lose some length and firmness/rigidity of my dick post-op (which turned out to be an accurate prediction), I postponed surgery for a month so that I could visit Rio de Janeiro ... and I could have fun in Rio de Janeiro (GP, and some women for hire). For most of my life I was a "top". Most importantly, I wanted to fuck as many stunningly handsome guys as I could before surrendering my erection to the surgeons. Post-OP, the removed prostate analysis revealed that it was 25% consumed by PC and had not, to the best of the knowledge of my Urologist, metastasized (thankfully). Very lucky me! So, it's not been easy post-op. I'm unattached, no partner. My focus on sexual satisfaction has changed. I enjoyed a spectacular period of time during pre-op which I enjoyed/excelled being a "top". Fantastic memories, thankfully. Any others on this forum who have had PC, and surgery? 😁1 point

From the UK, England ... I've always liked Keeping Up Appearances. In the USA, I enjoyed The Twilight Zone, The Ernie Kovacs Show ... amongst others. I've purchased DVDs of the entire Keeping Up Appearances series and occasionally view them. The Twilight Zone reruns are frequently aired on cable TV. For some unknown reason, I don't think The Ernie Kovacs Show is available for viewing.1 point

I have chosen the watchful waiting. My doctor and a specialist she consulted both agree that's the best course for now. I don't think I've been officially diagnosed, but the finger, urination problems and blood tests all suggest cancer. I heard an interview long before this became an issue for me with an expert who explained most men with the signs won't need cancer treatment and as you said, some die as a result of the treatment. Plus our system is under a lot of pressure and I have no wish to contribute to it. And I don't want to die, but I'm reconciled to it. The best part of my life is over, all of my immediate family have passed and I'm not a relationship person. So short of hopefully sucking more Brazilian dicks, which is not nothing, there's not much left to look forward to. I wish I could choose the time though.1 point

He played the criminal psychologist Dr. Eddie Fitzgerald in the 1990s series Cracker. I think this must be what you refer to. Not sure 72 is too young to die when you are grossly overweight and drink a lot. Still, his passing is very sad. He was an extraordinary actor with a great talent.1 point

From Pattaya Mail More than 400 police officers and soldiers were dispatched across Pattaya in a show of force on the eve of the long holiday weekend. New Chonburi Governor Thawatchai Srithong sent the 449 officers on their way to serve and protect at Bali Hai Pier Oct. 12. Among the contingent of officers were police from Pattaya and Provincial Police Region 2, the 14th Military Circle, Banglamung District, Internal Security Operations Command, Narcotics Control Office Region 2, Marine Police and police volunteers. Officers spread out around Walking Street, checking bars and clubs for drugs, guns and minors before moving to other high-profile tourist areas.1 point

I suspect when @Londoner visited that sleaze joint it was located upstairs. For some years in its pre-covid incarnation it had moved to ground level and was virtually identical to @reader's description. In fact @reader's description almost exactly fits my memory of visiting several years ago. Sofas which looked as they accommodated far more bugs than those who sat on them. Three boys on a stage, almost always fully dressed, and making little or no movement. A few others fully dressed sitting on bar stools on the right of the stage eyes glued to their phones and a few to the left on other sofas eyes also glued to phones. If you decided any of the boys was worth a drink, he would come and sit beside you. Little or no conversation but jeans might come off and he would sit in shorts. He would not object to a bit of hanky panky. Occasionally a dick would appear especially if a second drink was purchased. At least drinks were not expensive. But not one of the boys looked as though they either wanted to be there or enjoyed being there. Certainly, providing enjoyment for customers seemed very far from their minds. Nature Boys and the now dead Golden Cock were a lot more fun for those looking for sleaze.1 point -

I visited Dream Boy at its' new location over the weekend. Others above have accurately described the place. The premises are impressive: Same as when it was Lucky Boy. For a boy bar its' a gigantic size with tiered seating- a bit like theatrical circle and stalls (UK style) with an enormous high ceiling and all seating in front of a grand stage. Comfortable and exciting. I had already been to a few bars and had consumed plenty of booze when I got there to Dream Boy ; quite busy maybe 50-80 customers with about 40-50 boys. Mainly masculine types with a sprinkling of other types. They could improve by getting more twinks. The show was as usual and ok but nothing special. As I had been on a bar crawl that night with a guest in tow I will not reveal how much I spent..... Most of the go go bars are charging 350-400 per drink and as I enjoy my drink, so it was a pricy night out and important at every bar to check the bins carefully and the change. Incidentally off fee is 500 baht. By chatting to the mama san can easily find out which boy does what, etc. Despite a lot I spent, I had a great night and Dream Boy is a fun place: Can recommend! 😀1 point

Thais are still wearing masks inside buildings and some also outside. Foreigners outside rarely wear masks.. Hardly see anyone wearing them in entertainment venues or restaurants. On public transit and taxis, it is expected that everyone will wear them. I try to copy what Thais do inside buildings and on transit, but not outside.1 point

Just to bring in some science into the discussion, most of the prostate cancers detected by screening (as opposed to those which appear due to symptoms) will never affect the life of the person who has that cancer. Screening asymptomatic men for prostate cancer has NO effect on overall mortality. There is a minimal improvement in prostate cancer mortality, but this is balanced by increased deaths caused by unnecessary treatment. This is probably true because once diagnosed, few men choose the wisest course, which, in many cases, is watchful waiting. The immediate response usually comes as "Aaack! Get it out!", often spurned by financial interests of the urologist or radiation oncologist. https://www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org/uspstf/recommendation/prostate-cancer-screening#bootstrap-panel--5 "Adequate evidence from randomized clinical trials (RCTs) shows that PSA-based screening programs in men aged 55 to 69 years may prevent approximately 1.3 deaths from prostate cancer over approximately 13 years per 1000 men screened.3, 4 Screening programs may also prevent approximately 3 cases of metastatic prostate cancer per 1000 men screened.3 Current results from screening trials show no reductions in all-cause mortality from screening. There is inadequate evidence to assess whether the benefits for African American men and men with a family history of prostate cancer aged 55 to 69 years are different than the benefits for the average-risk population."1 point

Thanks for these posts guys. My doctor isn't the best straight up communicator, but I think she's been saying for the past couple of years I almost certainly have prostrate cancer, but it hasn't reached the point of needing treatment. She's also given me the option of going to a big city to see a specialist and she's been sending my test results to a specialist in Vancouver who talked to me on the phone last winter. He agreed with her I didn't need any treatment or more advanced testing at that time. I had a blood test in July and my doctor didn't call so I assume it hadn't changed, but I'm talking to her this week and I'll ask her. It was to good to read these posts to see what the future might hold for me and also reassuring that it can be dealt with.1 point

Thank you for your comments, Moses, and for sharing your experiences. Similar to you, I had regularly scheduled PSA tests; on a yearly basis. When my PSA number rose unexpectedly, my primary care physician scheduled a visit with a Urologist whose finger examination did not result in any concerns. However, as a precaution a biopsy was recommended. The day following the biopsy and before the results were available, I slid into septic shock and was in intensive care for several days. While still in the hospital the biopsy results came in and it was estimated that my prostate likely contained 12% cancer. Watchful waiting, radiation, removal (via Da Vinci surgery) ... were options presented to me by my Urologist. Right then and there I told the Urologist/Surgeon I wanted the prostate removed via Da Vinci robotic. For me, I made the right decision: the level of cancer was 25%, but had not migrated outside of the prostate. As with other surgeries, one patient's experience can be different than someone else. I experienced severe incontinence once the catheter was removed - which was 2 weeks post-op. I leaked like water shooting out of a garden hose. Lesser degrees of incontinence continue to this day, which is annoying. My primary care physician at the time believed the surgery was not completely successful and I might want a corrective procedure (something I have not acted on). My frequency and strength of erections has not returned to pre-op levels, which has had a negative impact on my sex life. Pre-op, I'd have described my sexual activity as 90% top. Post-op, it's 100% bottom. Such a change can be, and is, difficult to deal with - psychologically - for gay men. Thankfully, pre-op ... I'd had 30+ years of a very active sex life. Thanks for the memories! When I think about my health history and prostate cancer, I have no regrets deciding to have my prostate removed. I'm alive. For this I am grateful.1 point

Prostate Cancer in Gay Men
kokopelli3 reacted to Moses for a topic
I had PC 5 years ago. Thanks to my habit to make yearly blood tests for cancer markers, it was recognized by PCA markers in blood when it was on 2d stage. Since it grows slowly, I had enough of time for MRT and other checks and tests including biopsy and unlimited sex within 1 year (I'm "top only"). My oncologist told what best is prostate removal because tumor was located within prostate capsule and offered robotic operation with saving of penis nerve paths. I spend only 5 days in hospital because robots does surgery via holes in stomach. Indeed length became 1"-1 and 1/4" shorter. Also about 2 weeks after catheter removal (on 10th day) I had small urine leaks when had coughs or during stand up from low chairs, so there were pads in my pants for 2 weeks and I used them 2 week more "just in case". Such pads are invisible (only 2-3 mm thick) for to use, because leaking is just few drops "per case". After surgery I had to make PSA tests every 3 months for to be sure what there are no metastases at fist 3 years, now every 6 month till year 7th, and also yearly KT scanning with contrast. Thanks to nerve saving robotic surgery, I got hardon back in full in 1 year, but had to use Cialis during that first year (first sex was in 3 weeks after surgery). Since prostate is removed, I have no sperm anymore, but have normal orgasms.1 point -
