Part 18: More fun in Phuket... With no go go bars being re-opened (yet), to get some fun in Phuket you have to scroll the apps, venture to the massage shops or just flirt with boys you like in the nightlife. There are a few massage places catering for us kind of people in the Paradise Complex. Most of them situated in the middle Soi. The one directly in front of the hotel tower. 4 Massage, right on the first picture. Actually very close to entrance of the hotel. The most boys and greatest variation of types I found on offer at 4 Massage. Also Blue Dolphin has his fare share of boys. But don't forget to check out the massage shops with smaller amount of boys. As there can be a stunner also. I found for example a very goodlooking boy at Sabai Sabai. In the evening it was time to enjoy the nightlife again. I couldn't find Spartacus. Google made me believe Spartacus was in the beginning of the Soi where Zag club is. But nothing open there. The first open establishment on the left side when you enter is Zag. On the right side there's another bar but is seems to be a normal bar. No gogo boys or anything exciting... So maybe they moved to another place that is unfindable, or your information is unfortunately not up to date.. After a few drinks on the terrace of G Club I was already feeling a bit tipsy. I was ready to call it a night and return alone to my hotel room. But on Grindr I got a message from a guy inviting me for a drink in Zag Club. It was a cute guy, with sexy body (see for yourself on picture below...). So it would be rude if me to say no. It was again a 6pack that seduced me... The guy said he had a good deal for me. Asking 3000 baht for a nice night ST. I replied by saying that was indeed a good deal. But not for me, for him. He laughed: "oh you know the normal prices, right"... So we agreed at 2000 baht. My hotel (Best Western Patong) is walking distance from Paradise Complex. But as we all know, Thais don't like to walk. So my guy insisted we would take his motorbike. Entering the hotel was no problem at all. Nobody asked anything, no registration needed so also no joiner fee. We decided to save water by shower together. In the shower his was eager, started kissing me straight away. And it didn't take long for him to be on his knees in front of me. We continued on the bed. Tasted everything on the menu and it was some time and money well spent. The guy is working in a 5 star resort in the North of the island. Well...he gave me a 5 star service too! 😁10 points

Part 17: Once you go black... I remembered an old post on this forum about African guys on Grindr in Bangkok: And indeed when I was in Silom Bangkok I also did see some African guys on the app. I didn't pay much attention as I did see they advertise as top. The guy that was staying in my hotel... But now I'm in Patong Phuket I did see one of these African guys appearing very close to me on Grindr. I was intrigued and started a chat. The guy was over from Bangkok for a few days and was staying in same hotel in Patong as me. And he told me he was versatile. He asked a bit more than the Asian moneyboys, but for the sake of research for this forum I thought I might have to give it a try. He first asked 5000 baht, that I could get down to 3000 quiet easily. Few minutes later a knock on my door and a very goodlooking dark guy entered my room. He was very polite and spoke perfect English. Was nice to have a bit of conversation. We took a shower together where things started to heat up quickly. I soaped his muscled body. Some kissing and mutual sucking. He did indeed live up to the stereotype: a great xxl black cock that I could not throat completely. Nice expierence for once.... Wow. Not sure how much nudity is alloud on this forum, but I wanna give you and idea by posting one of the less explicit pictures he had sent me: We dried each other bodies before we went to the bed and had some hot fun... It was truly an afternoon delight. Went to spent some time at the rooftop pool of my hotel before two friends picked me up for drinks and dinner at a restaurant on Patong Hill with beautiful view and sunset.8 points

I retired about 7 yrs ago after working long hours in a stressful job for the previous 14 years or so. Now, I take it easy and go on at least 1 long (for me) vacation of 6-8 weeks each year. And as a way to keep somewhat busy, I plan this well ahead of time, researching flights and hotels before booking them well ahead of time. And checking out sights to see in the cities to be visited. None of us is sure when we'll go, but I have worked with a financial planner to somewhat ensure that I can live fairly comfortably till age 90. Both my dad and elder brother died at an early age (52 and 42) and my male siblings and I all have had heart problems. So, the end for me maybe 10-15 yrs away. I am, however, hoping that I don't suffer much at the end. I keep in touch with friends locally and others scattered around other cities across the world. These friends include ones I went to school & university with in another country. I sometimes meet up with some of the classmates who now live in the same city I do. And also meet up with friends who I volunteered with for a number of years. How do I pass time otherwise? I cook, go to the gym and watch lot of Netflix. I am now also back to watching BL series after a break of few months. So, catching up on series I've missed. Still lots to do in the years ahead. Many more countries to visit end enjoy. And many more boys to meet up with and have fun with!7 points -

My situation is somewhat similar to @vaughn - Australia, in my 30's, comfortable life, with a kinda specialised field. In the next few years I hope to have a year off from 'life' and have a go at living in Thailand, learning the language and whatnot. Then can decide if I want to stay and find a job, or try another country, possibly China or Singapore. It would involve giving up my comfortable life, but I really just want to do something else for a while as I've never experienced living or working anywhere else in the world. I can always come back if it all goes to shit.5 points

Yes, I agree with that: planning well ahead makes sense in all sorts of ways. . When I'm feeling low, there's nothing like booking up a trip to Thailand to raise the spirits. I like to have one "in the bag" when I return to the greyness of London and so have just arranged a second one in March. It means that, when the chill hits me in December when I return from my upcoming one, I can smile grimly and anticipate the next. A stay in Thailand is a pleasure to anticipate, enjoy and recall.4 points -

I was in Pattaya during July and had an enjoyable time having a boy in my bed most nights. Getting to Sunee was no problem by walking or taking a motor bike taxi, where I offed boys from Winner, taking them back to Boystown where I had a nice stay in the Ambiance. Bringing boys there from The Complex was also easy, helped by the quieter roads in that period. As you mentioned checking the websites Romeo and Grindr produced good results.4 points -
Part 16: Trip to the south... Going to Phuket After a view nice days in Pattaya is was time to leave for Phuket. I've worked and lived in Khao Lak and Phuket for about 5 months a few years ago and I was curious how Phuket came out of the covid period. Also still an old colleague and his Thai boyfriend are living in Phuket so was looking forward to see them again too. U-Tapao Airport is very small with at this moment only one or two flight a day. Probabaly because of this, ALL restaurants and bars were closed at the airport. Before and afyer security. So if you fly from there, maybe good to have some drink with you and drink it before you go trough security check. You can go trough security just 15 minutes before boarding time as the airport is so small and nos busy at all. I wouldn't be afraid of airlines cancelling flight from U-Tapao because of lack of passengers. Both flights that departed from the airport when I was there looked well occupied. My own flight to Phuket, with a propellor plane, was almost completely full. Flying with Bangkok Airways means a meal/snack and drinks are included. What I actually needed as everything at the airport itself was closed. Phuket Airport (and the rest of the touristic areas on the island) are known for their taxi maffia. The government is trying to do something about it. There are now maximum taxi fares in place from the airport. Every taxi tooth and booth is now actually charging the same: 800 baht from airport to Patong. You can also follow signs "taxi meter" to the very end of the parking area. If you're lucky there is a taxi meter waiting there. As that mind turn out a bit cheaper. While I was in my way to the taxi meter parking, a drives offered me the ride for 650 baht which I agreed on. I also checked Bolt. They charge around 500 baht but Bolt taxis are officially not allowed to pick up customers at Phuket Airport and I wanted to avoid any nasty situations. I booked the Best Western Patong Hotel. Because it walking distance from Paradise Complex but on a more quiet road. And it has a rooftop pool for some afternoon chilling. And for 790 baht per night it was priced good. Pool at Best Western Patong I'm evening it was time to head to Paradise Complex to see what's left from the gay area. In one street good old Zag Club is still there, even bigger than before. Next to it is G Club. Both have drag shows that you can watch while sitting on their terraces. As they do the show on the street. Zag later continues their show inside. It was very busy at Zag. Between their shows the crowd in dancing and flirting. With some shirtless staff joining in. Crowd is a good mix of falang, Asian, young and older. Everybody enjoying themself and each other... Very good and nice atmosphere. Having a good night out in Zag Club There are two other smaller bars in the street but they actually didn't have any customers when I passed by. The good old boat bar went bankrupt and is gone. There used to be also two go go bars in Paradise, with boys wearing numbered tags that could be offed. But they also didn't surivive covid lockdowns. The owner of Zag Club bought most of the buildings on the street. To avoid any competition coming in. Some of the buildings he is owning are already empty for many years. They are up for sale, but apparently he doesn't want to sell to anybody planning to start a bar or club. Other bars, like G Club, are struggling a bit. For example: Zag is suppose to do their street show until 10pm after which G Club can start theirs, to try to get also some customers in. But Zag just continues their street show till way after 10pm, giving G Club less fair chance to take some business. The bars are next to each other, so they can't do street show at same time because music will reverberate disturbingly. G Club terrace Because of the dominant presence of Zag, that club was full of people while G club only had handful customers on the terrace. If you're coming to Phuket I would suggest to also support the business in G Club a bit and don't forgot to also sit down at their terrace for a drink. If only for the cute and young owner / manager. Their streetshow will start as soon as Zag take theirs inside. In the road parallel of the bar street, there are a few gay massage places. Will check them out later.4 points

Student praised for daring rescue of boy electrocuted in floodwater
splinter1949 and 2 others reacted to reader for a topic
From The Nation BANGKOK, Sept 17 (The Nation Thailand/ANN): A widely shared video clip shows Atthachai Argudom, a 19-year-old student at Udon Thani Technical College, pulling the unconscious 12-year-old out of shin-deep water. The drama unfolded next to a power pole outside Satri Rachinuthit School in the Northeast province on Friday (Sept 16). Witnesses suspected that electricity had leaked from the power pole. Atthachai suffered electric shocks during the rescue that he said had left him feeling weak. Both he and the schoolboy were taken to high ground inside the school compound before being rushed to hospital. Udon Thani governor Siam Sirimongkol visited Atthachai in hospital on Saturday. He thanked the young man for his selfless compassion and gave him money to buy a new mobile phone. Atthachai had dropped his phone into the floodwater in the scramble to rescue the boy. The schoolboy’s mother, Kanokrat Loeichaiyaphum, also visited her son’s rescuer in hospital. She said her son would have drowned had Atthachai not pulled him from the floodwater. “My thanks to this man who saved my son’s life. Thank you for your bravery and your good deed,” the 45-year-old said at Atthachai’s bedside. His grandmother Supannee Saelim, 65, said that Atthachai has lived with her since he was a child following his parents’ divorce. “I am proud of him and happy that he’s safe,” she told the media.3 points -

Adams Apple and Circle Pub are the boy bars in town - both open around 9.00 - 9.30 and close at midnight. Last week Adams had 8 boys on stage with 4 presenting shows before circulating amongst the 9 customers to collect tips. Circle has fewer boys with a show starting around 10 .30. Both locations are on Facebook. Some boys can be taken off from each place. Ram Bar in Soi 6 in the night market has a popular cabaret. Also in Soi 6 is Orion Bar which has a few boys who will sit with you to drink and so earn tips. There are many host bars in Chiang Mai including Maya, Route 181, FinFin, Barocco, Maximo, Meeting, Monkey Club, G2K - most are mixed venues that tend to kick off after midnight. The Apps Hornet, Grindr and Blue'd are usually busy. Not sure what massage shops are open - Classic House near Thapae Gate I know is open and is usually popular. Other venues are House of Male and Club One Seven ( sauna , pool) - not been to either so unaware of their status3 points

I left the US 10 yrs ago....now in Merida Mexico. It was almost a coin flip between here and Bangkok. But I made a pros/cons list of each place and Merida won. Residency was easier, no keeping money in a bank account, no reporting (except change of address), I spoke some Spanish, is easier to read/write Spanish, easier than English actually. Lot's of always horny brown guys to keep me happy, inexpensive, great restaurants, beaches and if I have to go to the US for something, less than a 2 hr flight and I'm in Houston or Miami. The longest trip I stayed in Thailand at one time was 2 months, I was ready to come home by then. I could live in Bangkok, never Pattaya/Jomtien. Probably the only place in Asia I could live is BKK, but I'm happy to visit when the urge hits me. I've been visiting Thailand for 23 yrs now, used to be great mileage runs when airlines used to give miles on distance traveled. I'll go at least once a year but have gone regularly more than that, up to 4 times a year. Also with the regular Brasil trips and other places, I can't complain. Typing this made me remember a big difference between latins and Asians......Latins are super horny and passionate in sex, free or paid, it doesn't seem so transactional like details of long time/short time. If we are getting along, it's 1 payment until we're bored of each other....no stories of sick grandmother or problems on the farm either 😆3 points -
I live in condo, long paid off. I'm happy where I'm . Would like to live in Bangkok but knowing myself for quite a while I know I did not stand the heat year round as even here after 3-4 months of summer temperatures I'm always greatly relieved it's cooler finally.3 points

I am pretty sure they were, (or more specifically, the mamasan was). Just because I said that the tip SHOULD be money going exclusively to the boy does not mean that he would not be extorted of part it by the mamasan the next day. I think the waiter would have been happy with 2,000, in line with the other gogo boys of the bar unless he has a very high opinion of himself as some kind of Adonis, in which case, he won't be value for money with an attitude like that. Bear in mind that however appealing he may look to you, his performance in-room remains a complete unknown. It's an independent variable. You have no way to assume that he is worth 3,000. If I were in your place and am smitten by the waiter, I would try to find a way on my next visit to the bar to slip him my LINE contact and ask him to message me. Rather than off him from the bar where the vulture (oops, I mean the mamasan) would be watching, I'd try to arrange an afternoon tryst via LINE. I would go no further than 2,000. After all, he already knows that 3,000 is unacceptable to you from the incident the other night. He would have no expectation of 3,000 by now.2 points -

I enjoy my retired life where I am now in Canada. I would now not want to move anywhere else permanently. Great to visit cities in Asia, especially BKK. But no desire to move there. One of the reasons is.... I would not be able to handle the heat for extended periods. But the main reason... my family and friends are within few hundred miles of where I presently live. I would feel lonely and lost in another country that is far away.2 points

I was in Pattaya last week. You can read about my Boyztown visits here and here in my trip report. Off course it's (still) not how it was before covid (and I doubt I will ever be again...). But same can be said for Bangkok, Phuket and other places. Pattaya is not dead at all. Still more than enough fun can be found. About Indians and Arabs: in the area around Boyztown (let's say Pattaya City) they indeed are biggest part of the visitors at the moment. But in Boyztown itself (and Jomtien) you hardly see them. Same for Phuket where I am now : many Indians everywhere, expect for in the gay street.... Lol2 points

Retired in Oregon. Happy here with my partner. Enjoy visiting, but I have a circle of friends here, and don't want to relocate. If my partner died, I might try it for a few months, but I suspect I'd come back to the green and the rain. The thing that might get me to truly move if my partner passed is if my money grew a bit tight, because it goes so much farther elsewhere. In that case, I'd probably pick Mexico because as others have said, the language is easier and it would be easier to visit what friends and family remained.2 points

I’m Asian living my dream of staying somewhere in Europe. I extensively traveled the continent and beyond. Recent years before Covid, I just keep on coming back to Asia particularly Thailand and Japan, other favorites are Taiwan and South Korea. When I was younger, I thought I’d never retire in Asia. However it most likely be where I will retire. Most likely In Thailand or my home country. I’m doing a sabbatical break next year for a trial retirement and if I like it, I’ll just continue it. Just turned 50 so the retirement extension of stay in Thailand is possible now. Staying at home country though, has the advantage of finding work easily if I like to do so. apart from family and friends I have there. Oh, and I never liked winter season and even if I like to do early retirement say in Spain, it is quite costly as my preference would be Barcelona.2 points

At least some boys in Freshboys are slightly muscled. Not only skinny boys. On the two nights I was there, they had quite a diverse group of boys on stage. Big chances there is something of your taste there... (unless you really wanna go for Tawan muscle guys, that's not on offer in Freshboys). Number 20 was absolutely very good and nice. But somehow waiter keeps coming back in my mind and fantasies. Lol... Did you already go back for nr 19? So guys, actually when they charged 3000 baht (for fun without fucking) they weren't overcharging me? You guys think I should go back to Pattaya and give it another try for 3000? 🤔 The show ik Zag doesn't become sexual at all. It's just ladyboys with sexy dancers. And some shirtless boys walking around. I just tried (will be in the next report) and can confirm it's possible to take a guest to Best Western Patong during nighttime without any problems, fee or questions asked.... Because I knew about the Phuket taxi maffia I made sure I was in walking distance from the gay area. We all know things can be more expensive in certain areas in Thailand. As the boys in Bangkok in general are more expensive than in Pattaya, the taxis in Phuket are more expensive than in Bangkok... At least its good the my out a maximum fare in place for taxis from the airport. So you know what to expect...2 points

A factor may be that a taxi travelling from Suvarnabhumi to the centre of Bangkok, is more likely to be able to pick up a subsequent fare than one travelling to somewhere like Patong. I think too many licenses were issued in Phuket(possibly the sale of licenses benefited someone) so that the drivers need to recoup when they finally get a fare!2 points -
not to dispute anything but I'm tempted to comment since I happen to know people who won lottery big. Long time ago , in early 90-ties , not that much as it was about 2 million $ but those days were we live one could buy 8-10 houses for that and don't know them that well as those were clients our our office only. What I remember very well was their comment they made about one year later when they digested all those news, they told me that having all of the sudden those riches and being able to afford things they never even dreamed about changes one mind and they are not surprised some people in such situation may get crazy. In short, until we get there we don't know how we would react. For all I know they did not get crazy fortunately even if they both were from poor background and still , for good luck I still keep yellowish newspaper clip announcing their win on my desk at home.2 points

I have posted this many times - yes, I would - without the slightest hesitation or second thought. I love living in Pattaya and wouldn't dream of living anywhere else. I'm living where my first choice for a holiday would be. And for me, that has nothing to do with the bars and availability of sex. I also have never been interested in luxury living. I don't need or even want hotels such as Le Negresco. Even in Bangkok I am perfectly happy staying at the Malaysia Hotel - a place some think of as a dump. I truly believe if I were ever fortunate enough to become a billionaire I would still prefer to live exactly as I do now. But at least I wouldn't have to worry about that fucking 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account requirement . . . That's me. People have to make their own decisions. I've known my share of people who also chose to live in Pattaya, grew to hate it, and left. That is why I always say when people first come to live in Pattaya they should make sure to leave themselves an escape route in case it doesn't work out. I've also known people who wanted to get out, but burnt all their bridges and now have no place to go. Best piece of advice I can offer is to learn to speak as much Thai as possible, even before going to live in Thailand. The ability to speak the language is an enormous help. Again, speaking only for myself, I have never even tried to learn to read it. There is more than enough English that makes reading it unnecessary (for me). And it doesn't take long to pick up on the way most Thais who can speak some English do speak it. Many of us call it "Thainglish". Maybe one difference I would choose - and at my stage of the game I'm getting very close to deciding to do it - is hire a maid (or houseboy). I'm getting tired of doing all my own chores - everything from doing my own laundry to picking up after my dog. The idea of a maid sounds better every time I hear it.2 points

In the USA, near Washington DC. I expect to keep my home base here. All of my closest friends are here now. But my expectation is that I will travel a good bit. I think I'd like to spend a couple of months out of the year in Thailand. We've discussed this a bit in a number of other threads. Without being fluent in the language I think it would be difficult to expect to stay there full time. And without a support network it could be especially difficult. My mother and other family are in Florida. But I hate Florida so I don't plan to move there. If my mom is still alive when I retire I will likely spend more time there though. A lot might depend on political and economic situations. There are lots of gloomy projections for the next decade or so out there right now.1 point

I did think about the Philippines once, there are a couple of places there that interest me a lot. The main pro to the Philippines for me is the retirement visa, so much easier and less stuffing around and that's the sad part of Vietnam is they don't have a retirement visa or long stay visa option. The big con for the Philippines for me are the typhoons (not to mention their regular brown outs), I had lived in an area in Australia for many years and been through so many cyclones that I would rather not have to go through any more.1 point

Customarily, the practice is like this: Offing a waiter and removing him from the available staff in a bar (not that bar waiters have that much to do anyway) is usually discouraged through a higher bar fine (off fee), not through imposing a higher tip for the boy, which anyway should be money going exclusively to him.1 point -

Well, I don't "deserve" anything, as I have no control over fares - I'm at the mercy of the airlines. I certainly didn't do anything to "deserve" such a ridiculous fare. I wouldn't "surely die" if I had to sit in coach (economy), just like I'd surely survive if I had to eat fish fingers for dinner rather than something nicer. It's a lifestyle choice. Olddaddy, I never give a thought to how long I've got left as I've still got a way to go before I hit my late 70s. I also believe it's no use dying with lots of unspent money in the bank so I don't have any trouble going out and spending it. I'm a shopaholic, afterall. But I want value for money. That's all I think about before I bring out the credit card. I'm trying to tell myself that the value is there because I'll get to catch up with my friends in Tokyo and enjoy our traditional "bounenkai" (忘年会) after having missed out the past few years. It's why I invited a friend, as I wanted him to enjoy it with me. I'm still working hard on convincing myself.1 point -

I enjoyed the movie, too long since I've been to a Baz Luhrmann experience. The way they transition the singing from the actor to Elvis to the final performance is great too. Hanks is a bit cartoonish but then so was the real-life "colonel".1 point

Part 9: "Roomservice" Today I had lazy day. And I did what one does when having a lazy day in Bangkok: looking on grindr for a massageboy to come over to your hotel room... My choice of the day was a boy who works at Bangkok Spa in Silom Plaza. Before he had to start working at 3pm, be came to my hotel room to give me a nice massage. I was too lazy to go to the shop. And I like the comfort of my own room over a maybe dirty, old massage room somewhere in a shop. In my own room I know I can have a nice shower after and can just relax on bed instead of having to travel back to my hotel first. He had some very sexy pictures on his profile, showing a nice 6pack. Versatile, so so the after-massage-fun looks guaranteed. I felt for the 6pack... Only a few minutes after the agreed time he was in front of my hotel room door. No problem for him to get into the hotel. Friendly, goodlooking guy indeed. He spoke good English, always nice to be able to have something of a small conversation. He even spoke a few words Dutch as he visited my country (the Netherlands) and has a friend from there. Massage was nice, the after service even better. Good skills on sucking and eager to get fucked. What a nice way to have a lazy afternoon. And the day is still young... Still have the evening adventures ahead.1 point

I can imagine those times and the effect he had on women, and some men as well. I recently saw an Elvis documentary on PBS about a benefit concert he did in Hawaii for the USS Arizona Memorial. Very well done film. Gives an idea of the man and his fans. If you are a PBS member, perhaps you can view the film. I'm glad I got this taste of Elvis. That said, I am excited about Austin Butler and Tom Hanks cast together. I hope I am not disappointed by the new Elvis film.1 point
