Part 14: Boyztown Yesterday I've spent most of my time at the beach. From Jomtien I was walking to the Dongtan side of the beach. I passed a few of the beach lounge renters until I came to a very good looking young guy with a good body. His shirt was open so you good see his well defined torso. Off course I didn't need to walk any further and I rented a sun lounger with him. It costs 100 baht per day. Around 5pm I returned to the Agate for a shower and some rest. Because I had plans to visit Boyztown in the evening. Around 10pm I had my walk around Boyztown and neighbouring streets. A bomb looked they had no customers as when I passed by and looked inside there were no boys on stage. Only few shirtless boys on their phones sitting outside. A soi further it was very quiet. Dream Boys had their outdoor lighting on, but there was nobody standing outside and the door was closed. So also this was not very inviting for me to go in. On the opposite side of the road, at X-boys, I did see a few boys sitting outside. But not my type of guys. Toyboys had a stage full of boys in underwear. They were all wearing something else, so I assume the boys were wearing their own underwear and not something provided by the bar. The guys were wearing number tags. I did see different types of boys. From skinny twinks, to rougher looking farmer guys and hubjs with a little more muscles. But my final destination was Boyz Boyz Boyz. I wanted to catch their 10:30pm show. It was only after I was given a seat and ordered my drink that I was having a good look around and realised what I was looking at: 25 boys on stage, also here all different types present. But only 3 shirtless. The rest of the boys were wearing jeans and shirt. In a boybar, where they try to sell you a boy... As a customer I want to see the quality of the goods I'm buying first. And that's hard to judge when there's too much packing material around it. Also the boys did not wear number tags. So asking papasan for information about certain boys was a bit difficult. About 40 customers inside. Including a hug group of around 20 people (half of them women) that were having some kind of party. Besides me only 3 other falang, rest were Asian customers. A drink cost 350 baht and with this you get some free popcorn. The signs "Everyone here doesn't have prostitution" made me laugh... Yeah right... The show started with the candle act you see in many boybars... There was another act with 4 boys with towels around their waste doing some erotic dance/striptease and underneath the towel they were wearing see-trough underwear with half hard cocks... Off course there was a ladyboy and also a guy doing a playback act. Both with background dancers. First part of the show ended with a very nice b-boy act that was Iver very quickly and could have go on a little longer because it was fun to watch. I just finished my drink when there was a little break in the show and all boys came back on stage. Still almost all boys in full clothing. There was one more very goodlooking guy that took off his shirt now. My type of guy: not too skinny, a bit of muscles. Cute face. There was another very cute boy in the bar. He was having a bit curly hair, young look. Stood out from the others because he was a bit different type. He somehow had a bit of a French look over him. But apparently there was a "waiting list" for him. First he was having a drink with the guy next to me. As soon as he had finished that drink, he went on to a next customer on the other side of the bar. Also he was fully clothed. I asked papasan for some information about the boys on stage. "Only have tops, no gays". When I told him I am top myself, he suddenly had some "gays who can do anything" on offer. Yeah right. Information from this papasan was not going to be very accurate and helpful I thought. I decided I had seen enough and took a Bolt taxi back to Jomtien. When I walked to my hotel I went on Grindr and a goodlooking Cambodian boy that sometimes works "freelance" at @home bar asked me for a drink. Decided to go for it. And it only took one drink for me and him and a small conversation to decide he was going to be my catch if the day. Bar fee of 300 baht and drinks paid, and my hotel room at Agate was conveniently just around the corner... Boy asked 1500 baht. Prove that Pattaya prices are still lower than Bangkok...13 points

I think most would suggest Freshboys for a bar experience. Would also consider massage shops that have been posted about here. The location some members have recommended for a very good chance of finding the guy your looking for would be K-Man Spa adjacent to Saphan Kwai BTS stop. But you don't have to get on a train. If you're not shy, just walk by shops in Silom-Surawong. If you spot a guy outside a shop who makes eye contact and smiles, start a conversation (use Google Translate if necessary) and see where it goes. Even if he doesn't fit the bill, others may step forward or he may recommend a friend. Use the search function for terms like "trip report" and massage shops".4 points

4 billion baht budget to tackle HIV & STDs in Thai youths
billyhouston and 3 others reacted to Londoner for a topic
This should be a salutary reminder to all visitors who enjoy the sex scene to remember that hiv remains a real threat. And that, despite advances in medication and care, it remains a life-long condition with unpredictable implications, as Covid proved.4 points -
From The Thaiger Thai teenagers are more at risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV infection than adults says the Thai government and that is why it has approved a budget of nearly four million baht to tackle the issue. The Deputy Spokeswoman of the PM Office, Ratchada Thanadirek, revealed that people aged between 15 to 24 years old are more likely to get an HIV infection, and an STD, especially gonorrhoea. Ratchada made known that Thailand had 520,000 HIV cases last year, the figure is expected to increase by 6,500 cases this year and that most of those people would be aged between 15 to 24 years old. Ratchada explained that the government approved a budget of 3.9 billion baht for the National Health Security Office to take care of HIV and Aids patients. Ratchada added that the Division of AIDS and STDs would launch an official account named “Stand by you” on the Line application to allow people to ask questions about HIV and Aids, ask for a free test, and request medicine. Ratchada said the government planned to control the spread of HIV by 2030. They hoped the official Line account would make HIV tests and information about HIV and Aids more accessible, especially among teenagers. This would lead to more awareness among teenagers about the dangers of the diseases. The government would also like to emphasise the benefits of using condoms too.3 points

It's up to the guy, some will ask for 1500, 2000, 3000+ (plus off fee to the bar).. It's luck of the draw and what they are happy with. One thing to remember is that it can be good to avoid paying multiple days in advance or agreeing to multiple days in advance, just pay him LT daily. Ask if he will stay with you for the day tomorrow, then ask again the following afternoon. If you decide it's not working out on day 2, you will have fewer issues saying not tomorrow rather than trying to change the arrangement.3 points

whenever you deflating think about old vinapu who every evening checks your site along with other 2 gay forums and ChristianPFC blog plus one other , not gay related site. I read both pieces about Tawan but found nothing to weep. Times are moving and we need to adapt , no need to weep every time when we compare our look in the mirror with one from high school prom. Rather we should look at way of getting as much as we can from current situation. One difference about Tawan is that 13 years ago Tawan had reputation of his boys being fill of attitude, at least it's what I read then on various forums and it kept me from visiting even if I'm well known fan of hunks . It was only on my 8th trip when I finally braved in (and ever since would prefer never leave) and it was by accident - Arena guy, twink himself, I offed on the way to BBB Inn suggested that he wants to see big boys in this bar when we were passing by. Now, and I try to visit every bar in BKK at least once during every trip, I'm of firm opinion it's a friendliest bar of them all and it's not because size of their boys. It may be that being older they are more mature and confident of themselves.3 points

Part 13: First night in Pattaya Yesterday evening after dinner I made a walk in Jomtien complex. And soon I did see confirmed what others already wrote in this forum a few times: the guys trying to get you on their terraces are more on the small, slim twinky side. Not realy my regular taste. I like my boys to be more hunk like, with preferably some muscles on it. So walking in Jomtien was for me not like entering a candy shop. But the atmosphere was good, the boys very friendly. The show in The Venue was already in full swing. But I was on my way to M2M because their show was going to start in a few minutes. They have daily shows now (except for Mondays) at 10pm. It was a busy Sunday night. Around 85% of the seats were taken when I came in, and after me some more guests came in. I ordered a rum and coke. But it was undrinkable. Way too strong. The colour suggested some coke was in there, but tasted almost pure alcohol. Nothing that can't be solved. I just ordered another coke on the side. I have to confess I was actualy very entertained by the show at M2M. It probabaly also helps when you know what to expect. And I knew I was not going to see any gay erotica or big dicks. They had 5 ladyboys and 7 or 8 boy dancers doing different acts. The show lasted for a good 90 minutes. Part of the cast What was this strange language of the songs of a few of their acts? Was it Russian? Would it be more political correct to skip these? The combination of ladyboys with some background dancers worked good for me. The dancing boys were good eye candy. One of them, the cutest one in my eyes, even was the front man in one act. When he started playbacking "What do you want from me?" by Adam Lambert I could think of a few thinks he could do for me... Lol My favourite of the show... After the show finished the cast went outside on the street so the audience had the chance to snap some pictures or have a talk. My favourite dancer was unfortunately busy talking with another (female) fan... When I walked passing the different bars again I found that some terraces were having quite some customers, while others were almost empty. The boyish boys were still present trying to convince me to take a drink at their establishment. But I had made other arrangements already with a guy from Grindr coming to visit me in my hotel room to have a deep discussion about current affairs... 😜😊3 points

There are plenty of scam artists in Thailand. As soon as they know you are a lone foreigner in Thailand, speak no Thai, and have some leftover money, bad things could happen (wether you are dead or still living).2 points -
Fair point, from our perspective. I was thinking that some particularly enterprising boys from Pattaya might see that tourists in Samui pay a lot for their hotels and they might be able to make some quick money with less competition from big spenders by going back and forth. That might be my business brain thinking, and it depends on what the ferry ticket costs are going to be I guess.2 points

Trip report: Thailand September 2022

The problem stems partly from the lack of sex education in the vast majority of schools. Blame this on one of the early Thaksin governments which cut the HIV-AIDS budget substantially. Before then, most young guys grew up aware of the dangers of unprotected sex. Now many young guys know of HIV-AIDS but have little clue how the virus is transmitted. I have read more than a few reports of the many saunas catering to young Thais on the outskirts of Bangkok where condoms are rarely used. And I am certain this is a result of ignorance. Although I have no statisics, i suspect most of the patrons are not on PrEP. It's particularly sad when Thailand had an excellent record in controlling the spread of HIV in the 1990s and very early 2000s. But a United Nations study in 2014 found a new rise in HIV infections. 70% of the cases were in the 15-24 age group and of these 41% were amongst msm. Part of the Report on the Study says this - UNICEF says it believes that Thailand urgently needs more effective protection measures and appropriate testing and treatment programmes for young people in order to curb rising infection rates for HIV and STI. These programs, however, will need to be designed at the community level, with the involvement of young people themselves, so that they meet their specific needs. “Among several recommendations from the study, we are calling for the age of consent for HIV testing and counselling to be reduced from the current age of 18 years,” Mr. Gass said. “If a young person feels that they have engaged in an activity that puts them at risk of HIV, they should be entitled to have a test without needing parental consent.” The Medical Council of Thailand had actually been calling for children under 18 to have the right to be tested without parental consent since 2008. It is now in effect. But given that 8 years have passed since that United Nations Study, this country significantly undermined its earlier dedication to the reduction of HIV in its young people.1 point

Jusr a reminder - should one be needed - that if you any any assets at all in Thailand you need to have a will written and executed in Thai for the disposal of those assets. So if you own a condo, have money in a bank account, etc., without such a will the Thai courts will take an age to make its decision about their disposal. In almost 100% of the time, these will go to your nearest living relative. If you have a Thai partner here, he is likely to get nothing if there is no Thai will. This can be done relatively inexpensively through one of the law firms who do this on the internet.1 point -
very sound advice I gladly second. Generally it's always bad idea to pay in advance unless boy in question is tested before several times. Multiple day off , even with best guys may turn sour after 2-3 days as inevitable boredom sets in unless both sides are very compatible in day time, non-sexual activities or giving themselves time off every day1 point

For HIV, prep is there. Thais can get then for free from their gov, though in not sure what the criteria. The few boys i asked that were on prep got them for free. I wish my government do this for high risk individuals but even right now, private insurance wont cover hiv treatment, let alone preventative treatment. We can still get prep here though, so thats a relief compared to certain country like brunei or indonesia. But yes, prep alone wont take care of other STDs. Condom is still the way to go. Regular testing is a way to detect, cure, and prevent spread as well. Another part that is very lacking here and maybe in thailand also, is contact tracing. We have seen the disaster being amplify during covid but all communicable disease needs rigorous and effective contact tracing to contain the spread. STD stigma made it much harder to do this. Casual ONS without keeping contacts also the culprit. This might be one good reason to keep contacts of your debauchry. If u had something, it is our obligation to let our sexual partner knows about it so they can get checked asap.1 point

Can I just say that I find the tone of this thread going downhill too quickly. Most people support Ukraine. A few clearly support Russia. Getting worked up about it here is not going to do anything but arouse deep-rooted feelings. I have never been to Ukraine but support it after the Russian invasion. I have been four times to Moscow and twice to St. Petersburg. They are both amazing cities with some extraordinary wonders. I loathe Putin's homophobia but that did not stop me making meaningful glances at a waiter in a St. Petersburg hotel which, if my gaydar was working properly, were reciprocated. That is as far as I went, though, I would never have risked anything more. In my view, anyone even attempting to find a gay venue or to hook up with a Russian in Russia is asking for a great deal of trouble - even if they feel safe for Russians who live there.. I know two blacks don't make etc. , but would those prepared to chance it in Russia do likewise in Brunei, Iran, Nigeria, some of the Gulf States etc.?1 point

Glad you said that. You'll never regret being polite and smiling. It has to be about 12 years ago that I was approached by a gorgeous guy on Soi Tarntawan who was hawking for Super A bar. I can still remember his line" "You don't have to buy drink. Just go take a look." I had been to Super A before and knew I'd never find a guy this good inside so I replied, "you're a really cute guy; would you like to come to my hotel?" He seemed taken aback and after a few seconds responded with. "OK, 4,000 baht." I'd never heard a number like this before and I said, "you're not that cute." I regret it to this day. Not only because it was unkind, but it wasn't true. He was that cute. Those four words abruptly ended any opportunity I may have had with him. That I can still recall the exchange a dozen years ago makes it all so clear to me that I've never really forgotten him. When I passed by him a week or so later, he just looked down and shuffled his feet. Why didn't I just make a counter offer? Why didn't I apologize when I saw him again? Because I was stupid.1 point
