Part 4: A night in Soi 4 - disappointed in Jupiter Disclaimer: if you're a big Jupiter fan, you probabaly don't wanna read this post as for sure you will disagree with almost everything I have to say. But... We all have different taste and opinions... Saturday night in soi 4, around 10:30pm Saturday night, time to hit the bars. Tonight I choose soi 4 to have a look around. Just before 10:30pm I arrived at Jupiter. Entrance fee (including 1 drink) was 400baht. It was crowded. All good seats in the house were taken and I was put on the far right hand side next to the stage. Next to the stairs from where the boys go down during their parades. There was a nice atmosphere because of the live singer. He was singing an English song that I didn't know but big part of the Asian audience was singing along. Probably some famous K-pop song. 60+ guest, around 15 women. And during the show even more guests arrived. Till it was completely fully packed. I guess 95% of the guests were Asian, and I wouldn't be surprised if I was the oldest customer in house that night. The boy model parade began with the boys in tight black underwear. Wow. So many muscles, so many tattoos. For me it was like being in a candy shop. So many tasty stuff I wanna try. But somehow it didn't feel right. It was very obvious that the girls in the audience got almost all the attention (looks and winks) from the boys on stage. Jupiter puts clips of their boy parades on their Facebook page Than the show started. Some acts I really had no idea what I was actually looking at. Other acts were oke. But what was remarkable that I didn't see any gay act. All acts where ladyboys interacting with the boys. As they were straight couple in love or seducing each other. And when a member of the audience was invited for a lapdance, they choose a girl to come on stage. More entertaining than most of the show was the reaction of an Asian girl next to me: shouting like she never did see any big cock before. Poor girl. Haha. It's probably not populair to say this, but: I couldn't figure out why this bar is in a gay street. Yes, they have very goodlooking guys. And as a gay you can take one home. But you probabaly end up paying too much money for what you get as I can't imagine these straight "gay for pay" guys will be any good. Some of the models ego is bigger than their cock I have the impression. But maybe somebody on this forum is having a great expierence with offing a Jupiter boy (or models as they call it there)? One other strange thing was that at the second boy parade they were back in jeans. That's a strange build up: to have them walk in sexy underwear first and jeans later... As I wanted to see if there would still come any gayness in the show I stayed till around 11:45pm. But I couldn't be bothered anymore by that time and left the building. To be in time for the midnight show at Banana Room. Also this place was busy, full of customers. Als here there were more woman inside than I did see in the bars in Patpong 2. Looks like soi 4 is more and more a place where straight girls on holiday come to have a crazy night out and that the bars in Patpong 2 still have mainly a male audience. You guys feel the same from your expierence? Banana Room had the cheapest price what I've seen till now: 350 for the first drink. Not that many boys (left): only about 12 on stage. The show itself had a bit too many ladyboys lipsyncing to slow diva songs to my taste. But at least there was some boy-on-boy action happening here. Some deep sucking on a big cock. Side note; in the big cock shows and other acts where a hard-on is required, the boys are always wearing a condom. Why? If it is to bind off the penis to keep it hard, there are other (more beautiful) options, right? Use a cockring for example. But back to the show in Banana Room. From the 12 boys still available in the last hour the bar is (officially...) open, I found 3 that I could off. But actually in the meantime I had other plans made up. During the time I spent in Jupiter I chatted with a nice boy in Grindr. He is working in a massage place and we agreed to meet up at 1pm after he was free from work. That's how the night had a happy ending for me after all...6 points

Trip report: Thailand September 2022

@emiel1981 Thank you for the report on Jupiter. Your observations are exactly like my assessment in 2018 or 2019, and I have not had any interest in going back since. From a mix of mamasan whispers and my own observations, the hetero women's behaviour don't mirror gay men's. They get more "head over heels" and generally tip better than the men. However, they hardly ever take the boys off - partly because they often come into the bar as a group for entertainment, not to hunt for physical sex (see quote below). Unfortunately, from the gogo boys' point of view, if tips are generous enough for sharing 10 or 15 minutes with women - and anyway their natural interest is in women - there is less and less interest in accepting offs from men, where they will have to WORK for their money. This partly explains the tendency to ask for more and more. Here's a good description from Magic Men: 7 major differences between male strip clubs and female strip clubs. The article references hetero strip clubs, but they equally describe what happens in gay strip clubs and the behaviour of women in these same spaces (as in Jupiter and BoyzBoyzBoyz). Let me quote a key passage: Jupiter (and Moonlight) are taken in by the style of fashion shows, where the "models" do runway walks, often at quite a fast pace with unsmiling expressions. I wonder if somewhere in the psychology of women, they like this kind of thing.... They are also mimicking the shows of the Thai bars e.g. Fake Club. Not that I've been to them, but I have seen videos. They get a good (and mixed) crowd, and their shows too are often like runway fashion shows. I won't be surprised if the Silom-Surawong bar owners and managers think that this is the route to success. But these are show bars, not sex-offing bars (according to my Thai friends). At least in the above video, it was a guy, not a woman, who was invited to the "chair dance". The next video is perhaps their full show for an evening (or most of it). But places like Fake Club are show bars where friends go in groups to enjoy a night out, not sex-offing bars. And frankly, from the videos, Fake Club does a better job of shows than any Silom-Surawong bar. The problem is this: If we had to choose between going to a show bar with no realistic chance of a satisfactory off and a sex-offing bar with no show, which would we go to? I would choose the latter with no hesitation, and I think many members here would too. Yet the Silom-Surawong bars keep investing in shows with gatoeys and loud music. That shows you how much the bar owners understand their market.5 points -
Part 5: Re-discovering Bangkok's touristic hotspots (... Because Bangkok has much more to offer than boys alone, right?) As I’ve written earlier, I was a yearly visitor of Bangkok since 2012. Off course I’ve been to all the famous tourist places over the years. Grand Palace, What Po… But as I’ve heard that tourist numbers still are so much lower than before covid9, I figured out it might be nice to re-visit some of these places again but now without it being too crowded. No crowds at Grand Palace today I’ve read that the 11 million Chinese travelers that arrived in airports in Thailand in 2019 made up more than 25 per cent of the Thai tourist industry for that year (there was a total of 39 million visitors in 2019). For Thailand I wish soon much more tourists will find their way to the Kingdom again. But it is actually nice for me to now take advantage of the lack of tourists in places that were over-crowded before covid19. With the Chinese still almost not traveling to Thailand yet, I was looking forward re-exploring Bangkok without the big Chinese tourist groups around. I took the advice from this forum to download the Bolt taxi app. As Bolt should be cheaper than Grab. For my trip from Le Méridien hotel in Silom to Gran Palace I looked up the prices: Bolt: 87 baht, 17 minutes waiting time Grab: 177 baht, 8 minutes waiting time So I thinks it's all about how much you want to pay and if you're in a hurry or are oke with a little longer wait... 🚕 Not busy at all in Wat Pho today It was indeed not as busy at Grand Palace and Wat Pho as I remember from my previous visits. Was nice after all these years to see those places again. And because not so many people around, beautiful opportunities to make some great pictures. I recommend to do the same if you're lucky to get to Bangkok somewhere in the next months. We can't be chasing boys all day and all night, can we...? Lol To conclude this posting; when I went to the atm it was asking me like always if I wanted to wish to proceed with the transaction with the conversion rate the machine was offering. I always wondered what was best to do. I always declined so my bank would just use the daily exchange rate. But some friends told me I better use the conversion option on the atm. Well... Happy I never listened to them. As conversion via atm would have cost met just over 300 euro. 💸 I just checked my digital account and my bank only charged me 286 euro... Good to know.5 points

possibly fear of crime too. I never been in Argentina or Brasil but visited all western countries (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile ) and while nowhere I felt threatened or uneasy in none place I can't imagine myself walking at 3 am through empty street like I do sometimes in Bkk. Never in Thailand receptionist in hotel told me to avoid area on the left past hotel entrance but in Santiago they did and never in broad daylight Bangkok taxi driver told me to close windows or lock door on intersection but I got it in both Quito and Lima. I don't know anybody personally whose safe in hotel room was emptied in Thailand but know two who got it in Dominican and Venezuela ( in pre-Chavez era, mid 90-ties). Venezuela case was more painful as it was higher end hotel and beginning of trip. In February I arrived past midnight to my SanJuan , Puerto Rico hotel and it was locked as fortress. I only was let in after they saw my passport and confirmed I have reservation. It was 100USD hotel not cheap love motel While no reason to be paranoid at all , not everybody's idea of good vacation is constantly to keep those things in mind. Another point may be airfares, often much cheaper to Asia despite much longer distance4 points

Trip report: Thailand September 2022

Which confirms what vinapu was pointing out - there are gay bars and boy bars. They cater to different audiences. Another boy bar is Boyzboyzboys in Pattaya. It started off as a gay bar but then changed to a boy bar when Chinese women began to outnumber gay customers.4 points -
I have been reading this thread with interest and thought I would share my experience with Bangkok Guy. I will preface this by admitting that as I do not speak Thai and am not on the spot, I may well completely misunderstand the situation and wake up one day to find it is indeed all a con. However, from my experience of Bangkok Guy, I don’t think it is. Bangkok Guy has three different sets of financial needs: · His own living expenses – rent, food, transport etc · Obligations from before the time that we met. These are wider family obligations such as the time-payment-tractor. · The obligation to look after his mother and sister, if they need help. The allowance I give him covers the first category (based on a comprehensive spreadsheet). I decided to cover his living expenses after I came to understand how unreliable and volatile his income from the market stalls is. With his living expenses covered, as long as he is working, he should be set, yes? Well, no. Not all the time and especially not if there are emergencies. Partly it goes back to the unreliability of the market stall income. Durian was good business, then prices fell. Then in the wet season the markets are not open every day, so he can’t work every day. If he can’t work for a prolonged period he gets stressed, even though his rent and other expenses are covered by the allowance, as experience tells him that at some point he will need to help out his mother and sister. He has been stressed about money for several months but, while telling me he has ‘pobpems’, he has been reluctant to ask for my help, even after I ask directly what the problem is and ‘How can I help?’ Finally, after several months, very awkwardly and embarrassed, he let me in on the problem. His sister had been in a traffic accident. It was her fault. Fortunately she is recovering ok. Unfortunately she is liable for the hospital bills and the damages. As he always does where money is concerned, he sent documentation. Pics of his sister in hospital and her ruined motor scooter. As the man in the family, he is expected to sort it out, and without my help he can’t. He is very stressed about this. It appears to me that most of his stress comes from having to ask me for help. He is clear that this is his problem, not my problem. I do not have to become involved. On the one hand, he could be a fantastic psychologist, taking the burden on himself knowing that I will respect that and offer to help. Top of the Class manipulation! What I think is more likely the case is that he really does not want to drag me into his family’s problems as he thinks it will alienate me, damage our relationship and he will loose me. He looks sick as he names the sum he needs. He still looks stressed after I agree to send the money. He thanks me, but he is stressed. He needs to see that I am truly ok with this, that it hasn’t damaged the relationship. I switch topics to our next trip, to Tokyo and Koh Samui. Ask him if he wants to take the Shinkansen to Kyoto. Show him the black cashmere jumper I bought for him so he will be warm in the Tokyo winter. He still does not look happy. “You need relax, work too much” Ah! A possible insight. He always thinks I work too much and need to relax more in order to live longer. Now he has put an additional burden on me. “In Tokyo and Koh Samui, I follow you” “You follow me? Sleep all day and all night?” He is looking more cheerful. “Not all day, I get bored, but yes we sleep. I look after you, you look after me”. Now he is smiling. I follow him. He is contributing something. We are still ok.4 points

You also reporting quite a crowd inside so AC is not as obnoxious than blowing to half empty space. Music is Ok when we can hear what somebody sitting beside us is saying, unfortunately not always a case in some venues. In defense of Jupiter boys, their expressionless faces are product of bar policy so don't automatically assume they are not interested. For some reason management doesn't want them to be seductive and thinks it's clinet who should make a move. Even boys who knew me from an off tend to stare blank when I'm there next time. But yes, unfortunately in many cases we are buying looks but also attitude there.3 points

The distinction between gay bar and boy bar tells us a lot about the evolving demographics of patrons. Women, on the whole, are becoming wealthier as they choose to delay or forego marriage. This is particularly true in Japan, China and Korea. Their dollars may be a different shade of pink but more negotiable to the otherwise straight boys who parade on the stages of given bars in BKK and Pattaya. That doesn't mean we can't still enjoy the eye candy but I find that I can see all I want just walking around. And I get a lot more smiles that way, too. 😉 So if the ladies contribute to keeping the venues open, we should applaud their largess.3 points

Pattaya: which massage in Jomtien?

The shop is not important. Walk past them all until you find a boy you want. Then go into that stop. If you dislike the shop, pay to take him home, and do it there.3 points -
Part 3: “Massage? Massage sir? Massage? Special massage?” A familiar sound walking in Silom today. Boys outside massage shops saying "Massage? Massage sir? Massage? Special massage? “… I must say it's much less places in Silom where you get this questions while walking the streets then before covid. But still... On Surawong Road between the Tawan soi and Patpong there are a few (mixed staff) massage shops with male crew trying to talk you in. And also when you walk from Tawan to Silom Road, on the second part, this still happens. One of the massage shops with mixed staff on Surawong Road It was only a few times in all those years I came to Bangkok that I went for a massage in an actual shop. I did go a few times for massages when I was in the now closed Babylon Sauna. I liked that place. It looked modern and clean. Nice dark steam rooms where it was always exciting to make your way through it while touching and feeling around you… But somehow in Babylon I always had the feeling that it was more about cruising around, watching and waiting for somebody better or hotter to pass by. There was not that much real action going on. Or it was just me. Maybe I was too shy and never took enough initiative. I must say I think its a shame Babylon is closed. Used to like going there. Anyhow; back to the passage part: I liked it how there was a sign in the room in Babylon where you could book your massage saying “no happy end”. While everybody will know that actually happy end was always possible with their massage boys. I was lucky they always put me in a “more private” part of the massage floor. As I did see that there where also massage tables in places where others could see what was happening when they passed by. Most of the times I wanted a massage in Bangkok, I would go on Grindr and invite one of the many boys offering massages to my hotel room. Sometimes a miss, but most of the times it worked out very well. On my last trip I was in Bangkok twice, as I most of the times did and also this year plan to do. I start my holiday in Bangkok, will travel around and will stay in Bangkok again on my last days. I remember I had the same massage boy coming to my room in the beginning and end of my holiday, as I liked his “services” very much. I found out I still had his number in my phone. Would he still be “in business” Decided to send him a message on WhatsApp. It must have been a sign from above or something that put paths had to cross again, because before he had actually read my massage on whatsapp he found me on grindr and messaged me also. Of course this is not how he sent me his picture. For privacy reasons I've put that smiley there... Anyhow. Arrangements were made quickly. And a few hours later he was in Le Méridien in my room. His price went from 1800 baht before covid to 2000 now. But I found this an acceptable raise given his trackrecord. Massage again was good but relaxing. And also enjoying his sexy body and good sex afterwards was how I remembered it. He's a good bottom that does the exact right amount of moaning while fucking him in different positions. Not too quiet but also not too much and loud like in some porn movies. When guys do that I always think they fake it. Originally he's from the Philippines. Speaks perfect English. Because he couldn't find enough customers anymore during the pandamic to finance his art school, he had to stop studying and is now working in an boring office. He also didn't have the money to go back to his family in the Philippines. He's hoping that in time more tourists like us will find their way back to Bangkok so he can get more customers again and finish his study. After we said goodbye I went for a swim in the hotel pool and some relaxing, reading and writing this report. Wondering what the evening will bring today...3 points

Part 2: First night in the bars... After a quick bite in Central Silom Complex I went for a walk. Clearly it was still too early to hit the bars. Soi4 was empty, apart from some people having dinner. Patpong same story. Empty. I did a quick check on what bars opened up after covid in Patpong2. I can confirm these are all still closed. And no signs suggest it will open soon. Maybe that will have changed end of this month, when I'm back in bangkok also again for a few night. Will see. I walked around to Patpong1. Where the night market used to be. So strange to see this street so empty and dark now. But everywhere it was quiet; also on Silom Road and Surawong Road. This area used to be so lively and buzzing before covid19. When I returned to Patpong 2 around 10pm, it looked like still not much going on. Apart from the patio of Dreamboy: a lot of shirtless boys were hanging around there. All way too busy on their phones to notice me walking by. On the other side of the soi, a tout tried to talk me into Freshboys. And as I set myself a goal on checking as much of the gogo bars as possible, I went in. The bar was packed. When I entered there were around 25 customers. At the beginning of the show (that started around 10:15pm) more guests came in. Till around 35 guests where seated around the stage. I counted only 5 girls, the rest was a good and balance mix of younger Asians and older farangs... The mamasan was fun, lively and not pushy at all. Same for the waiting staff. I've read other trip reports about airco freezing your tits off. That was not the case here tonight. Nice temperature. And also the music was not too loud to my opinion. Could still talk to mamasan en waiters. The wodka-coke costed me 400 baht. Many boys on stage. Must have been around 25 available guys. In all shapes, forms and sizes. Most guys had no or just only small tattoos. Only few boys had massive artwork on their bodies. In general I found the guys on the hunky (slightly muscular) side rather than the twinkly (very slim) side. But as I said, there were boys for every taste available... All wearing white (wide) sport shorts. So no tight underwear. There was one boy with a very intriguing tattoo of antlers on his lower abdomen. They disappeared under his shorts. Was curious to see till where this tattoo went. I was told this boy is gay and "can do everything". So it might be interesting to go back for him another night. The kind of antlers tattoo I'm talking about. But on this internet picture on another part of the male body... The show itself was fun to watch. Kudos for the ladyboy/draq queen. She came back on stage 3 times during the show. In some glamorous outfits. She picked a few good songs, the lipsync was spot on. The special effect at one of the show where spectaculair. She was wearing gloves that actually where on fire. The only little down aide was that she had no background dancers as eye candy. When I left Freshboys she was outside on the balcony so I complemented her with her performances and have 100baht tip. She told me tomorrow she is celebrating her birthday in Freshboys and invited me to come again. Will see what tomorrow brings. After 5 acts, the show paused for around 10 minutes for a boy parade. After that the show continued with more acts. Gogo dancers, candle wax being poured over an oiled up body, a solo act with a good looking guy groping himself and jerking off (without cumming in the end), two guys playing with soap in the shower (including some deep sucking)... It was all there. The big cock parade including the cock-slapping-against-the-pole... And begging for tips at the customers. So fun to see that when a customers gives one of the boys a tip, all other boys quickly gather around the poor customer all asking to also get money... Like bees on honey I would say... Its less fun watching it now I know this. Instead of staring at their cocks I was only looking at their knees. And indeed that's how the sound of impact is made... Of course it ended with a fuck show. With the boys still being connected to each other making a round through the public. There were going to be more acts afyer another break but it was time for me to move to Dreamboy. Another wodka-coke, but this one cost me 450 baht. The midnight show was about to start but I was on time to still have a good look at the boys on offer parading on stage before the show. I can confirm what has been written in earlier trip reports by others (see quote below): the boys here are in general a bit older, have a "rougher" look and quite a few look like they put one a few extra pounds during the covid lockdown. Dreamboy does have a lot of boys on stage (this evening when I was there around 25 and I was told there had been some offs already as I came in just before midnight), but just a few could meet "my standards". But than again, maybe all the in-shape hotties already went to a hotel room with a customer as I arrived a bit late. I counted around 12 guests, with just 2 girls there to watch the show. The show was disappointing. The boys doing the acts where in my opinion not the most pretty ones. Same for their ladyboys/draq queens. When one of them came off the stage to come close to me doing her lipsyncing, I could see her pockmarked face that even a thick layer of make up could not hide. Sorry to say this so directly. But it has to be an honest report with my opinion... Also the songchoice did not help. Where the briljant ladyboy/draqqueen at Freshboys used some showstopping up tempo medleys, in Dreamboy they choose slow diva songs. Before I knew it, it was time for the famous acrobatic fuckshow. I was close to 1am and Dreamboy was about to close. Decided not to off anybody. As I said I was disappointed by the boys on offer tonight. Must say Dreamboy did better for me before covid19. While Freshboys tonight was really good. But off course it's all about what you're looking for and what your individual taste of boys is... Because by now everything was closed already, I couldn't go to another place for a last-minute off. So... I think I have to make up for this tomorrow... But that's for a next report. Hope this was detailed enough for a good report? 😜3 points

Part 0: Ready for take off While I'm writing this, I am at the airport waiting for my flight to Bangkok via Doha. Ready for almost 1 month in Thailand. Bangkok, Chiang Rai & Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket… I have a busy schedule ahead. Planning to make an interesting trip-report for you guys. Off course with up-to-date information about all “boy fun” on offer at the moment. But also some non-sexual (boring…? haha) stuff. Any requests on what to check out while I’m around, let me know. The first time I came to Bangkok was in February 2013. As starting point for a two-month round tour in South-East Asia. It was my first time travelling solo. A big adventure. I instantly felt in love with SE-Asia. Not only because of the easy-to-get guys, but also because of the culture, nature and food. As a result, I would come back every year. As I worked in tourism, I had 3 months off every year in European low-season; the best months to travel in SE-Asia. I even managed to work in Phuket / Khao Lak a few months for the company a few years later. A dream come true. My last holiday in Thailand was in January / February 2020, just before covid19 hit. And now, after more than two years I am finally coming back! In my favourite city: Bangkok. It’s busy, smelly, humid and noisy. But somehow I like how vibrant it is. I’ve always been more a city-person than a beach-person. I was thinking about all the good memories I have in Bangkok. The many nights I’ve spent in Soi Twilight. You couldn’t enter that alley for 5 meters without being groped, touched and seduced by bar staff, moneyboys and touts trying to lurk you into their club for a “big cock show”. All fighting for your attention and money. Entrance of Soi Twilight in the old days I usually started the night with a drink on the terrace of Maxis bar. While sipping my rum&coke I could watch all the craziness going on in Soi Twilight. From there you had a good view on the massage boys of Bangkok Massage waiting for customers. Laughing girls passing by. Straight couples with the guy holding hands with his girlfriend and having a scared look in his eyes. Solo male tourists getting in ando ut of XBoys, Fresh Boys or Dream Boys. With or without their “catch of the day”. The first show I watched was at Dream Boys. How shocked I was seeing the act with the ladyboy with the very small penis and the acrobatic fuck show. And you could just choose from the guys on stage by telling the staff which number you like? A bit like Chinese take-away restaurant: choose what looks tasty from the menu, tell them what number you want and take home to enjoy… A whole new world to me; buto one I found very interesting and exciting. I also remember another club at the end of Soi Twilight that had a big water tank, where boys would swim in to do some kind of underwater erotic show. Was it Classic Boys? Watch this YouTube video to see how it was in Soi Twilight the good old days. Anyhow; I was used to all of it pretty soon. The shows in the different bars didn’t shock me anymore. After you’ve seen a few, you come to the conclusion they are all “same, same”. The only thing that kept me intrigued for some time, was the act where they slam their hard cocks with a loud bang into a metal pole. That must hurt! But somebody told me they really don’t slam their cock that hard into the pole. The noise is made because the slam something else (feet/leg?) into the pole at the same moment, so it looks the cock is making a harder impact than it actually does. But I never managed to actually see prove of this theory myself. Soi Twilight closed down (2020) Why am I writing this? Because as we all know Soi Twilight is gone. The last time I was in Bangkok, I had to settle with Patpong 2 instead. It’s good that some of the bars and clubs from Twilight found a new home in Patpong 2. But in 2020 I felt Patpong 2 was by far not having that special vibe that Twilight had. And for sure, covid19 will not have done anything good to change it become better. But let’s look at the bright side: Bangkok still has a lot to offer when it comes to boybars, erotic shows and sexy guys. And I’m about to go on a big adventure in the LOS again.2 points

Veteran tourists have come to appreciate that the belief in ghosts is not some Halloween fun to Thai people. It's an ancient part of their culture. This article reminds us that we pass over revered ground every time to enter and leave the Kingdom. From The Mirror By Steven White For many visitors flying to Thailand there is good chance they will inadvertently pass through one of the country's most haunted locations. Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) just outside the capital city of Bangkok, a major tourist hotspot, opened in 2006 and has since had many ghostly sightings in it as well as fatal accidents. Right from international airport's beginnings, an oversight meant that many of its construction workers did not know it was being built on top of an ancient cemetery. Some of them reportedly refused to work and quit there on the spot once they knew - because they were too frightened to continue. While it was being built, which is estimated to have cost more than $4bn, workers said they could hear screams and wails around them. The exorcism ceremony was full of chanting and prayers and took nine weeks to complete. One dramatic moment at the end of it saw a baggage handler stumbling through the throngs of people watching the monks and claiming to be the guardian of the cemetery, Poo Ming. The holy men duly blessed the young man so that he could return back to normal. However the lingering ghost of Poo Ming, who is said to be blue in colour, refuses to leave the airport and is often seen in the guise of an old man with a walking stick. He, along with other demons, are believed to stalk the terminals. Sometime they possess people within the vicinity and allegedly cause accidents and even suicides. Airports of Thailand, which owns BKK, built glass barriers in more elevated terminals to stop people from jumping down and killing themselves. Many people have reported seeing the apparition of pale lady carrying a baby who regularly causes accidents by stepping in front of drivers and scaring them. One person alleged he could hear classical Thai music being played - although there was nowhere obvious it could have been coming from. During BKK's official opening the authorities even brought in 99 Buddhist monks to appease any untoward spirits away. It is said that the person who rented the car was killed years ago and now haunts the area - people place flowers by the vehicle as an offering to the unrestful spirit. In 2013 a plane landing at BKK lost control and veered off the runway. Luckily there were no serious injuries to anyone and it was concluded that it was the result of malfunctioning landing gear underneath the plane. However, the Thai Airways managing director blamed it on ghosts at the time and went as far as saying that a ghost flight attendant helped passengers off the plane. Another, more serious accident happened in 2018 when a landing plane again skidded off the runway and injured 14 people. Malignant spirits were accused of playing a part in the incident once more. Thailand is a country entrenched in the belief of ghosts and one effort to maintain the afterlife within BKK is through the building of spirit houses. There, many Thai-based airlines conduct group prayer sessions where people can leave offerings to the dead. One popular gift is strawberry Fanta as the drink is thought to be a favourite of ghosts due to its bright red colouring.2 points

I've had problems in Brasil, of my own doings. Alcohol makes you do stupid things..... Wherever I go , I try to be aware of my surroundings and taking alcohol out of the equation, I haven't had problems in any of the countries I've mentioned. You've been to some of the countries I've talked about.....as has Gaybutton. Look at Namazu, when I met him all he knew was Asia for the most part, look what happened to him after knowing about Brasil and Colombia 😆 I just can't wrap my head around how the Thai's and others get farang's so brainwashed into supporting them financially. I've told this story here before: I was pretty good friends with Hugh Miller, he used to be the manager at Ambiance. We'd hang out in BBB or even in BKK and the stories he told of boys that claimed to work on farms (yet had hands smoother than mine) and had multiple foreigners sending them money for fake emergencies (even with photos). He used to laugh when the boy had 2 "Boyfriends" in town at the same time, he said it was like watching a 3 ring circus. So, with that in mind....and I know, I know...everyone thinks their situation is "different", but is it? Tomcal for all the years I've known him was the staunchest believer that how can a 20-30 yr old model LOVE a 70 yr old wrinkled ass, he knew it was the money that was the attraction. He used to say, tell the guy you're broke and lost all your money in the stock market, cut them off from all money and see how much time they stay with you. Then he found someone who blatantly was using him, but for whatever reason thought it was love. He went against all advice he had been giving for more than 20 yrs and his response "this is different" 🙄 This post went astray , the point being....it's a big world....lot's of other known and interesting places to explore and be a whore. Stop throwing money away so you can feel better about "helping" someone (get the latest iPhone) when there are people that could use the money for real.2 points -

Argentina def hairy....Brazil, never been with a hairy guy, never been with a white Brasilian....only brown for me and smooth. I lived in Brasil for a bit, the cost of sex at todays exchange rates....and let me remind you that it's great sex 99% of the time is about 1/2 that of Thailand, without the drama and up to you. I believe what keeps people from going is the language, in Thailand is easier to find someone that speaks bits of English than in many Latin countries.2 points -

I do. after all there's no difference for me who snatches for an off my favorite boy before I make move - Korean girl, Chinese lady, young Latino or elderly farang, member of this forum. Yes , sometimes their behavior is annoying with all that squeaks but guys in audience may be annoying too being excessively drunk or smoking even if not allowed. Point where girls are dangerous and this OP noticed at Jupiter is that they may be getting too much attention from boys. But even there there's good point - they are getting a lot of attention from staff as well thus leaving us alone and free from pestering2 points -

I've read more comments in this forum about AC being too strong in multiple boybars. Till now, I didn't expierence this in either Jupiter, Banana, DreamBoy or freshboys. I do remember AC being much stronger in certain bars on my previous visits pre-covid. The loudest music (that it began to bother me) was in Banana bar. Other bars music volume was oke in my humble opinion. You are right about eye candy in Jupiter. So many guys there on stage that I would like to get into my bed. But it was also frustrating knowing these boys weren't interested at all. Like holding a bone in front of a dog, but not giving it to him. 😕 I would recommend going there early jus to get in the mood. But don't make it the main bar in your evening hunt for fun. Most of the acts involved (hot, muscled) guys in underwear. Few times a (big, hard) cock was on display. Nothing special. Compared with shows in other bars Jupiter is putting on a soft show. No boy-on-boy action. The only interaction of some kind (a bit of touching, stripping) was boy-on-lady(boy).2 points

I think this is true for Pattaya, but not necessarily for Bangkok, where I spend the great majority of my nights when I'm in Thailand. While the twinks have disappeared from DJ Station, doing so sometime around 2008, there seemed to have been plenty to choose from in the Soi Twilight-now-Patpong go-go bars, especially Screwboys. I found this to be true on several visits in the years leading up to covid. The problem of course is how easy it is to burn a gaping hole in my pocket as soon as I walk into one of these bars. The drink prices are beyond high. Then there are tips and other fees. Plus, I'd usually take whomever I might have taken a liking to out for more drinks or to DJ Station. Whereas years ago starting out with 7,000 baht in my wallet would be more than enough to sustain me, these days 7,000 baht simply is not enough. So, despite my lack of Pattaya success over the decades I usually make my way there when I realize I have to stop spending so much. Here's another interesting phenomenon. While Pattaya is much less expensive for us tourists, the guys I've met in the bars say Bangkok is the better deal for them. They can demand higher pay and, they say, their apartment rents are cheaper. So I have to wonder, why do the bar boyz choose Pattaya over Bangkok?2 points -

I'm always amazed at how many members here haven't ventured into Latin and South America......I love my trips to Asia (changes things up) am amazed at the money people throw at some of the guys in Thailand. Just back From Bogota ($20-$30, no off fess, no expensive drinks) and Panama, got a cute guy on Grindr for $35, there were others asking $80-100, Panama is more expensive overall...but has some real hotties that will negotiate down to $50. I live in Mexico and it's a big country with gay places throughout.....then there is the motherload, Brasil. I know guys that go strictly to latin countries because the "don't like Asians"....I'll never understand that either. I show pics of guys from Bali or Thailand and they think they are Latin. Brasil and Mexico never closed during Covid either.....2 points -

Wow, so many replies within 24 hours. I used to choose hotels in or close to Boyztown, but one trip, the noise level annoyed me. Ever since, I have chosen to stay in Jomtien Complex, even though I hardly ever spend time in the Jomtien Complex bars (they do nothing for me). Only the Boyztown bars hold any interest for me. Not even the Sunee bars (RIP). So why do I stay in Jomtien Complex? Proximity to the beach. There are really two things on my agenda when I am in Pattaya: boys (gogo) and beach. When I stayed in Boyztown to be near the bars, I had to commute every morning by Songtaew to Jomtien. Now, I stay in Jomtien Complex to be near the beach and commute every evening to Boyztown.2 points -

I like guys that are more masculine and even better with tattoos, so between the apps, Boystown area and Nice boys is where I find myself. I'm not a beachgoer , but I might go 1 or 2 days and get a massage on the beach or something. Lot's of guys in Jomtien.....just not my type typically. I have stayed there several times over the years, rented an airbnb, the Venue, Agate.....Venue is fine, especially with their price... Classroom is part of a girly bar, but after Vinapu mentioned Classroom and I stayed there once, is ok place....the entrance doesn't pass reception and there is an electronic lock you let yourself in. I've stayed at the Ambiance a bunch of times and with the prices there is a good value....but like I said, many guys don't like to be seen going into a gay hotel....2 points -
Haven't the shows been in place for a long time though - since before there were so many Asian women (especially) and men going to the bars? I agree that the boytisserie is enough show for me. Or if they would be real stripper bars like what the Canadian places used to be - I haven't been up there in a while so I'm not sure what the current shows there are like. But I suspect the Montreal clubs are about the same as they used to be. I used to love Remington's in Toronto. So many fun times there.1 point

I'd like to know where he got that from. Maybe he's right, but i would like to know his source. I've never heard any such thing. There is a royal residence on Pratumnak, rarely used, but I have no idea what that would have to do with Jomtien Complex which is nowhere near. Does that mean all of Jomtien is royal land extending at least from Pratumnak to the beach? The Jomtien Complex venues pay their rent to whom? Again, maybe he's right, but that makes no sense to me. Why would royal land mean just about anything goes except go-go bars? If it really is royal property that doesn't allow go-go bars, then why don't the venues try petitioning to get that revoked? Nothing to lose by trying.1 point -

I agree. I'd prefer just a parade rotation sans the show. But I think the bar owners are more tuned in to what Asian audiences of both sexes like and that is a show. They want to be entertained for their pricey drink. It certainly seems to work for Moonlight and it was a big part of the draw at Lucky Boys. That's not to say they don't also come for--and regularly leave with--a boy. Those of us who are westerners are becoming more of a minority.1 point

oh, so in absence of strawberry Fanta, member card of Chinese Communist Party will do ? You are right about ghost believe entrenched in Thai culture. Now I'm watching , with delight I haste to say , KinnPorshe BL series and surely enough in the middle of the series they introduced ghost which changed substantially tone of the plot, so far skillful mixture of crime and love stories. On my last trip , after my ST guy left past midnight I decided to bring another bed warmer , by coincidence staying in the same hotel. Thinking I'm cracking a joke I told him I need somebody for rest of the night because I'm afraid of ghosts if sleep alone. Instead of expected paternalizing smile ' what an old fool " actually his gaze seemed understanding.1 point

yes , there are some girls there too, actually quite a lot in May me , my Boy de Last Night and other member hailed taxi on Suriwong in front of Patpong and paid 100 baht to Grand Palace tip included so it looks Bolt is not much better if at all and Grab just extortionate ....... yes, never accept ATM conversion rate but let bank convert it. I did the same in May and it was always more favourable , the same as you discover. Also because of bank fees, often on both ends, it's better to withdraw bigger amounts like 20000 or 25000 in one shot. Also when paying by credit decline conversion at point of sale and let bank to do that. So called ' dynamic conversion ' was invented to skin tourists alive, often without anesthetics.1 point

I've always read that you should decline the dynamic currency conversion at any point of sale or ATM. The blue MRT goes quite near the Grand Palace area now as well1 point

I should have been more specific. It's actually eye contact that communicates interest. And a head turn--with or without mask--is not to be ignored. 😄 You're right. It's completely unfair but you can't compete with a straight guy's libido--unless of course you're prepared to wildly outbid the lady's best bid for his affection. But even then, you may well still end up disappointed.1 point

With Thais still wearing their masks everywhere (even outside on the streets) it's hard to see if a boy is flirting. And smiles are not seen trough that masks... Thank god at least the boys on stage don't wear masks... Somehow I think there is a difference for me. I would like to think at least there is some kind of equal opportunity and fair competition here. But when the hot "straight" boy on stage has to choose between a girl in the audience or me, I thinks I don't make a fair chance anymore... And sometimes that makes me a jealous bitch... Lol Fair point about the AC. Maybe that also works for music volume? The more people inside, the more the music will be muted by human bodies working as sound absorbing object...?1 point -

your impressions are matching mine and it goes back to my first or 2nd trip when they were back at old location where Moonlight is now. Great looking but unsmiling guys so one never knows what to expect. I had few good offs from there but two of them were transplants from Tawan, one was smiling but did not survive from last December till May and another one I also knew from Pattaya. Few others were exactly as you say , ego bigger than cock or if there were good, experience was spoiled by them rushing for the exit, big sin in my eyes. Other sins you did not mention is too strong AC and to loud a music, perhaps they toned it down. I despise their practice of reserving seats around the stage for 'better' customers. I understand that logic but still despise it. Yes , I still go there every trip , usually early on after arrival, sometimes even 2-3 times but it's for eye candy only. But in reality it's quintessential boy bar not gay bar and yes , it seems girls are more their targeted audience, both for management and a guys. But we have other options so let them have it.1 point

Hi all I was in BKK for a few days last week in April and 3 weeks in May and always meant to write a report but never did do. I then moved to Jomtien for the majority of the holiday with a break with a German friend and two Cambodian acquaintances. It was nice treating the Cambodian boys to their first ever time flying and had a lovely 5 day excursion with two lovely boys. As it was low season, accomodation was fairly cheap and I spent most of my stay at the Agate, which I loved at 1000 baht per night. It really is a gorgeous hotel with everything I need. So surprisingly quiet with amazing ambiance around the pool area. There was no breakfast or Sauna due to Covid but that made price cheaper. I am due to fly back to LOS on 13 October, only for 3 weeks this time, and looking forward to it yet again. My straight friend is coming also on 29 October and wants to join me in Jomtien to " dabble with boys and Ladyboy" so that will be interesting 😜 I'll write a report next time I promise 🤣1 point -
From AFP By Lisa Martin A crashed Ferrari, a dead policeman and a fugitive heir to a multibillion-dollar fortune -- 10 years on, Thailand is no closer to resolving one of its most notorious hit-and-run cases. Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya, princeling of the Red Bull energy drink family, is accused of ploughing his sports car into police officer Wichean Glanprasert's motorbike in Bangkok's wealthiest neighbourhood a decade ago on Saturday. After dodging prosecutors and finally fleeing Thailand on a private jet in 2017, Vorayuth became a symbol of what critics say is the impunity enjoyed by the super-rich in the kingdom. "The perception of different justice systems for different segments of society cripples people's trust in the Thai state's capacity to carry out its responsibility to protect human rights for all Thai people," Amnesty International Thailand told AFP. As the grandson of Red Bull co-founder Chaleo Yoovidhya, who died in 2012, Vorayuth is part of a clan with an estimated net worth of $26.4 billion -- making it Thailand's second-richest family, according to Forbes. "This family is not only powerful in Thailand, but they are very powerful worldwide too," Thai political analyst Pavin Chachavalpongpun from Kyoto University told AFP Within hours of the crash, investigators followed a trail of brake fluid to the Yoovidhya family's Bangkok compound, where they found a badly dented vehicle with a smashed windscreen. Police initially accepted a claim that an employee was driving, but Vorayuth became the main suspect and his family later paid the victim's relatives $100,000 compensation, according to the BBC and New York Times. For five years, Vorayuth played a game of cat and mouse ducking court summonses -- claiming through lawyers he was overseas on business or ill -- while photographs documented a globetrotting lifestyle: living it up in London, attending Red Bull racing events, or going off on beach holidays and ski trips. Charges of speeding, drunk driving and failing to render assistance expired, before a Bangkok court belatedly issued an arrest warrant in 2017. By then, Vorayuth had already fled. In 2020, the Thai authorities dropped all charges against Vorayuth, triggering a huge public outcry -- including a social media campaign to #BoycottRedBull. Amid the backlash, TCP Group -- Red Bull Thailand's parent company -- distanced the firm from the case, saying the issue was a private matter. As anger mounted, and with youth-led anti-government demonstrations growing in the streets, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha's office ordered a review, which concluded the entire investigation had been "compromised". Rights campaigners contrasted the foot-dragging in the Vorayuth case with the swift action meted out to anti-government protest leaders, many of whom were hit with multiple royal defamation charges, which carry a prison term of up to 15 years. Thailand's Attorney General's Office announced fresh charges against Vorayuth and, in September 2020, Interpol issued a Red Notice for his arrest. An updated version from March last year said Vorayuth had made an attempt to access the Red Notice and was likely around France at the time. The notice also cited Austria -- where Red Bull has its headquarters -- as a possible location. Last month, a charge of using cocaine expired, Thailand's Attorney General's office said, leaving only one avenue for prosecutors to pursue against Vorayuth: reckless driving causing death, which carries a maximum 10-year prison term. The AG's office told AFP that the charge is valid until 2027. Few, however, expect Vorayuth to face the courts. "Even from the beginning, a lot of people expected how it would end," Pavin said, noting intense public anger around the case. "Rich people getting away with crime has become so normalised in Thai society. Thai people don't accept that it's OK."1 point

it may sound like fun killing but even better way is simply to avoid all spaces being too saturated with people. When panic starts chances of being crushed are high even if all exits are opened and unobstructed. Learned that lesson early , as a child I witnessed lady being trampled upon , thanks God , not fatally but still bruisy and bloody by crowd trying to get indoor to department store panicking from most of mundane reasons - sudden downpour. It's why nobody ever saw me at DJ Station1 point

Make that three of us. I’m spoiled from the past also, but the twinks in jomtien complex are few and far between. And not many stunners either. I don’t like it at all. id rather pay more for a better boystown or Sunnee. In fact I see more twinks riding the baht bus. I’ve probably picked up more on the baht bus than at the complex. There was one really hot twink at Sun Bar that looked dressed in a Japanese komodo, wearing glasses. I’m not sure if he was there to sell drinks or get offed. My regular from years ago works there and tried getting me to buy him a drink. I was more interested in playing pool at corner bar sadly. I doubt we’ll ever see a go go bar in Jomtien. I’m hoping more don’t give up on Winner bar or Toy boys, they are our last hope for twink survival.1 point

In June/July the gogos had not really got into full swing with the exception of Winner from where I offed on three occasions . Transit between the three gay areas was quick and easy due to the quieter than normal roads and because I have no fear using motor bike taxis even three up. That was the theme of my post. I think for my next trip I will go back to staying in the Complex, with its profusion of boys, both twinks and more mature.1 point -

São Paulo has a large group of people from Japanese, Chinese and Korean origins. You will not look totally foreigner (as I did in a small town in China ). Regarding encounters, we say in Portuguese that every pan has its cover, so you will probably find guys that are very into Asians. The GPs are always very into your money and if you threat them well (being polite, etc) they will do the same for you. If it is your first time in São Paulo I would suggest you to stay in Paulista/Jardins area. Near the saunas, museums, restaurants and safer than Centro/Republica. I hope you have a great trip!1 point

I'm going to Manila
newscene reacted to snowglobe11 for a topic
@Rick7235 sorry for the late reply, I was quite busy these past few days. To answer your question, “Macho dancers” are gogo boys/strippers known for their characteristic dance typified by lots oh hip gyrations and smooth serpent like movements ( you can refer to some videos online to get a glimpse of these men’s erotic dance”. Their are a couple of clubs that have these shows, mind you that they cater to both gay and straight women, so it would not be uncommon to see some cis women in these clubs. Moreover, they usually attract an older age bracket, and most would be regulars in these establishments and are often called as “Matronas” or matrons. Some well known clubs are: Apollo - Located in Pasay (Southern Manila) Solutions- Pasay Whitebird - Roxas Boulevard FClub690- Quezon City( Northern Manila) Adonis- Timog, Quezon City Emotions- Cubao Boyzone- Cubao Quality of these bars vary significantly, expect to get what you pay for. More expensive clubs like adonis and apollo have are generally cleaner and spacious while the smaller and older clubs like boyzone may not have the best record for cleanliness. On the upside though, these older, rundown clubs at cubao may provide cheaper men, though the quality might not be up to par as the more established clubs. Moreover not all the clubs offer sex shows or nude dances ( locally known as “all the way”), especially after the pandemic. For the expenses: Most clubs require an entrance fee of around 100-200 pesos, expect to get drinks at around 200-300 and “macho drinks” or drinks for the dancer that you would like to “table” or essentially keep you company to cost around 500-800 ( they earn a commission from this). VIP rooms are available for a set package of usually 10 beers for 5,000 and includes 1 on 1 time with your chosen dancer. Each club has different prices to take a boy out during his shift, some would require you to buy a minimum number of drinks, I’ve also heard of off fees up to 7,000 (which does not include payment for the dancer, just the fee for the club). With that in mind, it would be better to get the model home after his shift is done (usually at 2am-4am) to avoid this added fee. The actual price that you would pay for the guy would also vary greatly depending on how popular he is, or if he is even willing to go out with you. Please keep in mind that not all of the dancers offer sexual services, so do ask the floor manager for your specific expectations and needs so they can recommend a guy for you. Tip for Floor manager up to 500 pesos. Once you get in the club you will be assisted by a floor manager, their role closely mirrors that of the “mama san” in other countries. The manager has you in mind at all times, so if you have any questions on what each boy can do or questions about the prices then just ask them for advice. Clubs open around 8pm-2am, during this time the men will be presenting one by one (sometimes in pairs), as the night drags on so do their clothing. When they are not up the stage performing, you can get some of the buys to drink with you if you buy them a beer, policy defers in each club and each guy, some allow you to touch the guys’ package while others don’t. During your “table time” it’s best to get the guys number, get closer with him, and potentially ask him out to go with you after your shift. This is also the best time to ask him his price and what he is willing to do. But don’t be blunt. A lot of these guys want things to drag on.1 point
