Unexpected reunions and few shattered dreams - 22nd trip to Thailand in May 2022

In Bangkok two and a half years later, finally! After dinner with a couple of friends - at an amazing new Thai place behind Central Embassy, but clearly catering to the hi-so crowd - we hit Patpong, but the place was a bit of a ghost town on a Thursday evening. It was a melancholic experience, the memory of Patpong and Soi Twilight at their rowdiest still fresh in the mind. We poked our heads into Fresh Boys first, where there were a number of, indeed, fresh-looking boys prancing around on stage in their skimpies with feather boas, with several more sitting around waiting for custom. It was dead quiet though, there didn't seem to be *any* patrons in there. We took off. Dream Boy was next. We were in time for the nightly festivities, but, again, the show seemed to be a pale shadow of its former self. Ditto the repertoire of boys available. As my friend - a long-time farang resident of the city - put it, standards have slipped quite a bit. Many of the boys seemed average-looking at best, and in several cases somewhat less than. The performance consisted of a couple of drag numbers, and a f**king portion that featured a pair of extremely limber young lads attached at the c*ck and ass, and moving around on stage as an attached duo like the proverbial beast with two backs. It was definitely the highlight. Two lovelies caught my eye, but we moved on to Tawan. A shift of home later, Tawan feels like a new entity, housed in a space half the original size. There was at least a decent crowd, including two women. (?!) Didn't recognize a single face from pre-pandemic days, from the wait staff to the guys. Looks like there was a complete overhaul. Ah well ... Did end up offing a new face, with a brilliant smile and a rocking bod. He turned out to be er, less straight than he claimed to be in the bar, which was was good news for me. This one might be a regular. Encountering post-Covid Patpong was a bit of shock to the system, but, hey, at least there's a Patpong to come back to! Hallelujah for small mercies.7 points -
I went to Senso (replied in another thread) but perhaps with more details here since this is about Senso. Booked via Line and selected masseur before heading down. They are quite polite and responsive, even confirming that the rooms are already available for me before I arrived. When I got there, one staff came to chit chat and asked if I've been before, or aware of the available courses. About 5-6 masseurs sitting around, some topless, some clothed. I saw the masseur I pre-selected in the group. Told the staff that I booked via Line, he double checked and then I was ushered up to the room (4th level) with ensuite bathroom. Chose masseur who is lean/toned muscular who is totally my type. He spoke decent English and was able to communicate throughout, making small talks. Showered before (alone) and after (together). Massage itself was good and proper, loosen up some of my knots... but lack sensual touches 😛 after turning around and facing up, he went straight into teasing and getting me excited for the extras, unprompted. Some licking, touching, sucking (quite surprised by this) and offered to get some action from the back. After the happy moments, he was sweet enough to continue with massage on my shoulders, lower back while seated and commented on my body, made some small talks and showered together where we chatted further. If I recall correctly, it was 1500baht + 1500baht tip for 90mins. Not the cheapest, but overall satisfied. Tea and water offered before and after at the main waiting area too. Hope this report helps!6 points

Unexpected reunions and few shattered dreams - 22nd trip to Thailand in May 2022

Day two of the return to Bangkok saw a couple of reunions. Having done the rounds of Fresh Boys, Dream Boy and Tawan on the first night, I hit up Jupiter this evening. Surprisingly, all was as I remembered it: lots of women in the audience (couple of hen parties), and very attractive boys, mostly straight. Even the show was still good. Seems like ol' Jup managed to maintain standards, unlike DB and Tawan. One of the papa's remembered me from days of pre-pandemic yore, and that was nice. I wanted to get one of the boys to sit with me - one of the few gay ones, I was told - but, lo and behold, almost EVERY guy had been booked out. I couldn't quite believe it ... Guess Jup really is popular with a mass demographic. I took my sad, lonely ass off to Moonlight. On the way out of Silom 4, I peeked into Banana bar. There were quite a few boys on stage, but a quick scan down the lines suggested that quality control meant something else here; most of the boys looked like they er, could stand to hit the gym and/or lose a couple of pounds. I took off in double-quick time. By the time I got to ML, it was past midnight. The show was over, and the models were gone. Bumped into one of the managers who also remembered me, and it was a round of drinks. I was resigned to making do for the evening, but the silver lining in the cloud was meeting a young lovely from Phnom Penh who was only five days into the job. Fair of complexion, slender of body, and gay as a goose - so the chemistry was f**king great. I off-ed him for supper at the all-night Jap place across the street on Surawong, he more than willingly had his hand between my legs the entire cab ride back to Sukhumvit, and we ended with a great hour or so back at the hotel room. Moral of the story: some bars still have it, and some bars don't. Such is life and competition in Patpong.4 points -
From Thai Enquirer The Thai government said it is considering the lifting of the nationwide emergency decree that has been in place since 2020. It also decided to extend the visa exemption for up to 45 days along with visa on arrival for up to 30 days for a period of six months to help boost tourism. The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), a body set up by the government to handle the Covid-19 related issues, said that it has approved a proposal to extend the visa exemption and the visa on arrival for 15 days over a period of six months. “The extensions for tourists would increase tourism income and encourage tourists to travel around the country,” said Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, CCSA’s spokesman. The proposals that were approved include: Extending the visa exemption for nationalities from 56 selected countries from no more than 30 days to 45 days Extending the visa on arrival for nationalities that could not get the visa exemption from no more than 15 days to 30 days The government said that was considering the lifting of the nationwide state of emergency decree for Covid-19 in October. Prime Minister Prayut said after the CCSA meeting which he chaired on Friday that the government is considering the lifting of the nationwide state of emergency decree that was put in place to prevent the spread of Covid.3 points

I know a 25 year old ripped Burmese boy who works at a car wash in the day who I think you would like an introduction to. He hangs around 69 Bar in Jomtien Complex, but doesn't officially work there.2 points -
Although some may find this discussion distasteful, it's proving to be an education. Better we become aware of the risks before we acquire an infection, particularly at at time when more re-emerging diseases are making themselves known. As mentioned above, we don't have to become hermits and refrain from all activities. It's a matter of making sensible choices. I've been keeping in touch with a massage worker from BKK since my last trip. He tells me that he and his mates are very much aware of monkeypox and its symptoms. They've become adept at scanning clients for signs as they undress in the room. Fortunately none have yet to be spotted.2 points

I think you’re getting good advice from the members here. If you were on another gay board you would be given a harder time, and maybe even be accused of being a troll. if $500 you can’t afford, how can you pay all these boys. And not knowing you can get an std from a dick or ass would make me wonder where you think you can get an std, your belly button? im real sorry to mention this, and I assume you’re very sincere. I really want you to get the proper treatment. Please don’t worry about hpv, it takes years to develop and Epstein bar is very common. I believe it’s related to herpes. Many have it and don’t know it or have no symptoms. I would like to think that in the future you’ll be more cautious and try to stick to the same boys. I know it’s tempting to be very promiscuous, I am at times also. Now we possibly have Monkey virus to worry about, so be extra vigilant, lol. Sorry to sound like a Debby downer. keep going, we’re here for support and encouragement.2 points

Poppers
Mavica and one other reacted to thaiophilus for a topic
Two minutes on Google would tell you what's in them. They are alkyl nitrites. Used medicinally they are a treatment for angina. Some are safer than others, but when they are mislabelled as leather cleaner, who knows what's in them? The "leather cleaner" nonsense is part of the pretence that they are not for human consumption and therefore not subject to medicines legislation.2 points -
What’s wrong with discussing the risks of rimming? Certainly doctors don’t have time to talk to us about it. It’s up to us to be proactive about our health. The other forums should discuss these matters more. To protect our health and the boys we bop.2 points

Thank you me and humor ? you must be kidding ! When we met , one of our members told me that based on my reports he thought I'm some sober, overweight German accountant of which only overweight turned to be truth and even that to a very small degree only. I wrote my report after I returned home but details are accurate as during trip I keep daily log of important happenings like ; "Dw5m3m5mh" which translates : " D wanted 5000 , I offered 3000, he accepted , in the morning I gave him 500 more and he was visibly happy with it " or " KGdinhdturn77" i.e after session K and I went to G'Bangkok German restaurant in soi 4 for a dinner and I noticed that passerby'e are turning heads looking at us seeing outside. No doubt they feel sorry for K that he must dine with his grandfather and jealous for me having landed such a hunk. Total bill was 770" It's hard work but writing it helps to re-live experiences again, that's rewarding for me . We won't meet there in Feb as it's month when I can't travel unless I stop working or win lottery or both. My then BKK should be back to pre-covid normal from your nick I can see you are lucky one having non-stop BKK flight from home airport2 points

And how precisely do you check mental heath issues? Is everyone's access to internet sites to be monitored for those with tendencies to look up sites about guns or mass shootings? As I suggested, in my view the mental health issue is a total red herring. And sorry to say the Switzerland analogy is another red herring. It is a patriotic duty in Switerland to learn how to use a firearm and even to own one. Switzerland has a very small army numbering less than 135,000. Yet roughly two thirds of Swiss males must undergo mandatory military service when they have to supply there own equipment, including guns. They then remain 'on call' should the need arise up to a certain age which is usually 35 but can be as high as 50. Hence, there are around 2 million guns for a population of over 8.5 million, unlike the USA where there are more guns than citizens. But in Switzerland there are very strict rules and regulations re firearm ownership and storage. Also unlike the USA, the country has not had a mass shooting since 2001 whereas the USA seems to have more than one a week on average. And unlike the USA, the country's overall gun murder rate is close to zero. The Swizerland analogy is a favourite of the US NRA. It is a false analogy.1 point -
just pay him and chalk it off, your piece of mind knowing what's going on is worth more that stupid 500 $ that's rather sure thing don't be to impatient, you still young . First they must identify problem , then cure you . Then you go back, carefully to your old ways. In meantime hand holding session with favorite guys will be your reward and I'm serious. There are many ways of enjoying boys barebacking and baresucking.1 point

Just who is it, which government worldwide anticipated, the appearance of Monkeypox? Biden? Ignorant to suggest that, by anyone. Listen, many gays aren't old enough to have lived through HIV/AIDS. Stop the dangerous behavior and the infections will not spread as quickly. We are responsible for our health, not the "government."1 point

I caught Mono/EBV around 10 years ago and had similar symptoms to yourself. My doc didn't think that it was possible for a guy in his 30s to catch it as most "normal" people catch "kissing disease" when they are in their teens but that's what the blood tests showed up. Perhaps (like me?) you were too busy being a nerd or closet boy when in your teens to get caught with mono. Also back on their subject of poppers, they do tear the throat out of you when huffed persistently so it could have helped cause damage that helped the infection get hold Finally it seems that the gay Thailand forums have an obsession with bacterial infections due to rimming. Completely unlike other similar forums, where this is never mentioned, I grant that the SEA diet is different to most countries, but it does seem like rimming gets an unfair deal on the gay Thailand forums!1 point

@moistmango Thanks. Looking forward to further reports in the following days. A bit of a shock to hear that Fresh Boys had no one within, but what time were you looking in? Your reference to the bit in Dream Boy about the "siamese twins" attached at a strategic part suggests that this was between 11 and 11:30 pm?1 point -
Top 10 best and worst places to live in the world
splinter1949 reacted to unicorn for a topic
These lists are very silly, because they only represent the values of the people who make up the lists. I, for one, would rather blow my brains out than live in Calgary or Toronto, but that's because I greatly value climate--but that's just me. I have a strong suspicion that whoever made up that list didn't include climate as a criterion--yet that's something of great value to a lot of people such as myself. I could hardly be happier living in Los Angeles, but, yes, you'll have a tough time if you don't have health insurance (as in most of the US, which is why I suspect no US city made the list). There isn't a fence or barrier separating Canada from the US. If most people preferred living in Calgary or Toronto, they'd vote with their feet. Yet almost all successful Canadians live in the US (Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, William Shatner, etc.), yet it's very rare for Americans to choose to live in Canada. This is the only "barrier" between Canada and the US (barring rivers, lakes):1 point -

Greta probably agrees this isn't worth talking about as it has approximately 0.05% chance of happening. A great Reddit thread described it as "powered by hopes and dreams; powered by Photoshop until the free trial expires". They have no engine. Their "flying prototype" hasn't... These vaunted contracts are minor fees upfront and a whole lot of stipulations and easy exits. The Concord had 18+ airlines signed and ended up ever delivering to... two. And there was a hell of a lot more behind the Concord than this fantasy. Given that no airline is putting real money in at this stage the only way this could ever get off the ground is people investing, I doubt there are enough stupid people in the whole world to get near what they'd need--assuming they're fully serious and competent. Far easier to Photoshop up a nice pamphlet and press release, wait for the idiotic press to go way overboard about it, and cash in on whatever stupid money you can grab for as long as you can keep pushing back the promised dates than to seriously try--either way the results are almost guaranteed to be the same!1 point

Well guys today my lymph nodes ( I think U call them that?) under Neath my chin was swollen so though I would get a second opinion other than that silly camp GP I saw yesterday who only referred me to a throat specialist after paying him around $75 for that !. I keep thinking if that LMTU (let me tell u ) and I need to find out if this is HPV , I don't have time to wait weeks for appointments So today managed to go a few suburbs away and found a very nice young GP available. This was a large medical centre and they asked me questions did I have a sore throat, did I travel overseas etc ,I denied it all otherwise I would never see a doctor . Anyway my name got called out and the doctor seemed to be a you g good-looking arabic guy 😉 He introduced himself and said he was doing a 1 year exchange as a doctor here in Australia from Egypt .He was 28yo😅he told me anyway we got to the point and I told him I went to Philippines & Thailand ,and I had unprotected sex. I didn't even have to tell him it was a men , because his next question was did you have sex with man ,woman or both? I said both ..I was embarrassed anyway my symptoms I told him were burning sensation in throat and swollen lymph glands under my chin.he felt under my chin then put gloves on and felt under my arms ,no lumps there , he looked in my mouth and then asked me what sort of sex I did . I said oral sex on males . he said "without condom? I said yes and I rimmed them too He looked puzzled 😳," can you explain this ? He said I hesitated. I didn't know how to explain this to a young good-looking Egyptian doctor "I done oral sex" ......and before I could get anymore out...he said " oh ok without condom on them"? "No no no ...I said .." oral sex but on their anus " he sat in his seat ...looking like he was shocked...😳😳😳he didn't speak like for a few seconds staring at me . he didn't say anything then said loudly...almost urgently..." We need to give you a full sexual health check up immediately!!!!! full bloods and sexual tests! " You could have bugs !!! now I didn't say to him that I already been last week for sex health check up and it was negative I just let him go on. " You go for full blood test ! right now ! now I'm sitting there sort of worried like he is shocked at my behaviour " Did you kiss too? he said yes I said ... kiss them long ? He said I had no idea what he meant long? So just said yes HE asked me what medicine I took last week I said doxycycline...he said I will give you cilicaine vk ?? he then said " mate please very careful...you must have bugs !😳😳😳 I'm going to give you a anal swab and throat swab. now guys I had to lay face down on his bed and YES I got a hard on as he stuck a swab in my butt😉😉then he put that swab in a clear plastic cylinder I felt like he was pushing the long swab in my anus a long time like he enjoyed it Then he swabbed my mouth down my throat and yes I gagged ,( different Swab🤣 and out that in a clear plastic cylinder he then said to me take this small jar to the toilet and pee in it bring it back ..pee a little first then sent me to a gorgeous Filipino guy in the medical centre who took all my blood test he was very gorgeous, and made me feel calm as he took my blood I really felt like asking him for his number 😂 I had this vision of rimming him in the pathology room. I guess in a few days I will know my result ,but I peeked at a note in the pathology room and it says to the blood guy ..possible glandular fever??? so no idea .. as long as it's not HPV,anyway next week I have some indian throat lady ready to gag me with a throat camera not looking forward to that at a cost of $3000 points
