  1. Day 18 Breakfast was included in the rate so we went there, restaurant serving it it’s on 81 floor and whole affair is quite opulent with farang and various Asian dishes. I actually pig out on dragon fruit which I like very much. Looking around one could see that hotel is VERY popular with Indian or at least Indian looking tourists. View was a bonus and after breakfast we went up to the top to see vista from there, you don’t even need to walk around as in certain hours floor is moving slowly. Then I walked Dit to the bus stop , it’s from him I learned that bus 77 goes straight from Silom to Prathunam and then decided to have a walk. Just a walk , so went by BTS to Saphan Kwai and walked all the way from there to hotel , It took me only 1.5 hr. , not a bad in that heat. I liked it as it was nice to observe how city changes block after block, not to mention all that eye candy. At 3 p.m. I was expecting X and indeed he lined me at 3 that he is parking car so I went to reception area to meet him there. I need to mention that this trip I did not have even one case when boy did not show up at agreed time , give or take 5 minutes the most. Felt like Switzerland. At elevator where I met X I was bit surprised with his shorts, not only on short side but very tatty as directed by current boy fashion, I noticed even lady at reception where he registered his parking ticket raised her brew while sporting not so discreet smile. Did not bother me but X reflected that Thai people are conservative and may think his dress is disrespectful. So much for cultural sensitivities. View impressed him indeed and he had fantastic idea, just took quilt from one of beds, placed it on the floor by the window and said it’s most suitable place to have fun . Indeed who will see anything in such a height? We did not manage to change dresses to Adam’s when it was knock to a door . Who the hell it’ll be? But I opened and it was waiter from hotel with box, inside was small chocolate cake and sign ‘Happy Birthday”, how the hell they knew? Most likely from registration. It was very nice and unexpected gesture and cake was quite yummy too. Not the we spent much time tasting it since sheets in the floor were tempting. I like X very much indeed but today he seemed was even more hot and clingy or may be it was me who was more clingy because he seemed soo hot. As usual no rush meeting . At one point he suggested we order some food which I agreed , after all I was on the run up to now on that dragon fruit from the breakfast. Another nice surprise, servings were big and tasty and price was surprisingly low at 420 for two plus of course tip. After he left I took motorsai (80) to Patpong, had round of drinks with buys and few members at Hot Male then where else ? to Tawan. Enthusiastically welcomed by Dum , K, M and TT who noticed probably I like him so much and made sure he is sitting on my right. K yielded place on my left to Dum but he knew why I came there tonight. After the show I ask him to dress and soon we were on our way to Happy Beer to have dinner , treat my friendly waitresses with red wine and listen to another round of their praises of how nice K, cousin of one of them , is. No need to look for taxi as K has motorbike , we found spot to park it overnight and again not disturbed by anybody on reception we went up to the room, my birthday dream come true hunk and me. We still had a bit of cake to try before going to the bed with the view. As I mentioned yesterday room had 2 beds. Somehow all 4 guests in the room : Besty, Dit, X nad K , picked up one on the right. Surprising , at least for me. Do day 18 finished on doubly sweet note , hunk in chocolate cake. Long live Baiyoke Sky hotel

  2. Hi together. I went to freshboys yesterday as recommendedby jason1975. It was an amazing experience. 75 boys on site, great show and lovely mamasan. I enjoyed taking 2 boys to my room for the night. Though they where shy at the beginning, it turned out to be a lot of action. Additionally, the boys where not only cute twinks but also gifted with a very nice personality. In short 5star evening thanks to your help.

  3. Day 17 In the morning K dropped me at Foodland but decided to skip breakfast so I had it alone but not for long as few minutes later his bar friend M, the masseur , was passing by , saw me through the window and joined in but just for juice as he was after breakfast already . Today another change of hotels as for today and tomorrow I decided to splurge a bit and treat myself with the view so booked myself junior suite in so called Sky zone in Baiyoke Sky Hotel. I assumed it’s very high and hoped for a view. It will be first time since 2001 when I will not sleep in Bangkok in the Silom area. I took a bit circular way , BTS to Phaya Thai and then 1 stop by airport train ARL to Ratchaprop and then short walk which did not make much sense as it cost me 30+15=45 baht and taxi would be 80-100 and bus 77 may be 10, both being faster but I had fun doing that way. While hotel stands impressively tall, vicinity is less so being market area , looks messy and unkempt. Getting to reception requires elevator to 18 floor where one changes to another set of elevators to floors 19-77. To get to restaurant area on even higher floor /breakfast on 81 st/ or to moving platform on top of the building / 83 + walk up / there’s another set of elevators. Good news is , for hotel residents view from the top is free. Ordinary visitors are using another elevator from ground floor. On reception I got good and bad news. Good was that I can check in right away even if it was only noon on condition I accept room with two twin beds instead of booked King size one. No problem at all. Twin beds are not that small in Thailand, at least not in decent hotels. Bad news was freezing information that for guests brought after 6 p.m. I will be charged 1000 baht and they require 3000 baht deposit. About 1000 baht I said nothing just thinking ‘lets see “ , for 3000 I was prepared with cash but since it was in small denomination I requested that the same package will be returned to me which they approved placing it in the envelope with my name and amount. I got room on 65 th floor and as soon I opened door I swear in my native language. It was swear of good impression instead of mellow ‘ wow’ or even ‘ o fuck ! “ . It was room with the view facing River and what view it was ! Half Bangkok from Swampy to new parliament building, all through panoramic windows. Room itself was impressive to with separate dining and sleeping areas, couch , coffee table, regular table , desk and separate a/c for sitting and sleeping areas. Bathroom was size of small hotel room in say, Nantra Silom with bathtube and separate shower. All that for about 1800-1900. I always say I don’t like better hotels because I find it harder to leave the room and it was precisely the case. I made a tea and was sitting at the table admiring the view. Not idle though since I organized in meantime arrival of Besty , the masseur. He was as impressed as was I , I even offered to take him to the top to check view but he declined so we went to the business and first business decision was which bed we will be using, one on the left or on the right? As before very good session although massage part was quite short as it looked that he really likes me so we shortened massage part in order to extend part “ I really like you” . It worked beyond expectations. Now , almost three weeks after I returned I think my biggest mistake that trip was underusing him , he should be my guest daily on regular basis . I think my pro LT bias clouded my judgement as he was not interested in LT saying simply ‘short time is better” when I asked. After he left I went to check area, I must say that when comes to shopping, markets and shops there at Pratunam beat both Silom area and Chatuchak market in both in prices and selection. Of course we are talking everyday stuff , not real Rolexes and Channels. That wandering brought me in Phaya Thai station are where I decided to see what ‘s going on in Ganymede spa which is located in no exit soi just by the station. Three guys on duty, I picked up smiling one as usual, I was explained that his minimum tip is 1500 for 1.50 hr session which is exactly my standard. While guy was handsome and hunky, massage was strong and professional, afters were non existing. He did not make any suitable motions, I was waiting for him and 90 minutes passed , me being just thoroughly massaged as to compensate for shortage of this on session with Besty. As somebody noticed when I reported it originally , that’s danger of places with high minimum tip. But it was not a case few days ago when I went to Jey Spa ? Anyways no harm done other than bit disappointment, my second massage this trip with afters absent. From there straight to Patpong to meet world record holder Dit with 15 offs and take him for our 16th. Who greeted me in Dreamboys door ?. No one less than Soviet, guy mentioned few times already, last seen few day ago in Dreamboys Pattaya where he was one of 5 boys drinking with me in the bar. So much for Dreamboys hiring only Thais , Soviet is Cambodian. It turned out he tries his luck there. Having different plans for tonight I forced 100 baht into his briefs, not even very deep, kind of Vinapu Tuck Light as I had that pleasure in the past on quite a few occasions. I checked stage where Dit was looking worried seeing my antics by the door, motioned him to come over, told mamasan that I’m skipping drinks part, paid 500 off fee and of we went to G’Bangkok for the dinner , my first meal since that M accompanied breakfast in the morning. Owner discretely whispered “ change today ‘ since Dit is no hunk and he saw me with hunks only so far. To get to hotel I decided we need limousine on such glorious occasion so we took tuk-tuk for o a whooping 200 baht but great events demand great expense. When we arrived I realized that my refrigerator is beer deprived so we went to 7/11 and on the way Dit spotted some shoes he was interested in . Since he bargained price down to 350 I financed that, in fact I suggested we buy 2 pairs but he was always modest in his requests and declined. Nobody stopped us by the elevators to demand that 1000 extra fee so we went undisturbed and while in elevator I noticed he still has his bar number attached to his jeans only half covered by the t-shirt ! In the room we had 4 or 5 years to catch since our last meeting in Sept 2017 ( I just checked my register) so while talking we dried those bottles we just bought. I asked about his brother Fai whom I recall as great masseur and learned he works in Sathorn Spa , asked why he left Arena, asked how his daughter is doing and learned she is like me and likes boys he said. It was different off than all others, not much fire left after so many offs and years and when we went to bed it was like sleeping with husband of 20 years not a guy half of my age. But I was so happy that next morning , 18th of this trip, morning of my birthday I could welcome it in his company.

  6. (part 5) After 2 days, I move to A&P (Arthur & Paul) - the gay-only hotel in Phnom Peng (I have always wanted to experience such a place). It's pricy, double the price I paid for my centrally located 4 star hotel, and also a bit far from the city center. However, moving to this hotel put me in walking distance of 15 minutes or less to a number of well-known gay sauna & massages, including Dai Khmer (st 420), Ganesh House Massage (also on st 420), Hatha Khmer Massage and Love Spa (reported in part 4), to name a few, not to mention the most famous A&P, the in-house sauna of the hotel to which its guests have free access (Guide actually wanted to take me to A&P during my first tour but I told him I'm gonna stay there anyway). My tip: visitors to Phnom Peng should try to stay in two different locations (one near the Royal Palace, and the other near A&P). A&P itself is expensive, but I saw quite a number of decent hotels, probably cheaper, nearby when I walked around the neighborhood. That means you can stay in a cheaper place and then buy an all-day multi-entry pass to A&P for a few more bucks to use their very good facilities, including dry & wet saunas, swimming pool, big jacuzzi, and also cute and smiling staff in their underwear (it's clothing optional, mind you). It's like when you visit Ho Chi Minh city, you should stay first in District 1 (the actual city center, especially Bui Vien area which we call phố tây - street for foreigners) and later move to District 10, Sub-district 12 (the de factor gay service center with a lot of gay massage parlors and saunas). Back to Phnom Peng, I walked to Ganesh House Massage last night because it's very near just to have some ideas. It has the same setup as Hatha Khmer Massage: curtains, boys in underwear (white this time) but fewer boys (8 on display at 10h30pm, open till midnight). As with the case of Heco, the receptionist's English is extremely poor and Guide wasn't with me, so after a few questions trying to find more info but to no avail, I gave up and walked back. Took some pictures though. I contacted Dai Khmer (on the same street as Ganesh) on Grindr and they send me pictures of the available 5 masseurs. I like the one in red shirt. A taste check: @vinapu and @jason1975 which ones do you like? Jason, I think you could really use a week-end trip from Singapore to sample gay life and boys in Phnom Peng. About finding boys on app, I only had one hook-up in the first two days so don't have much to say about it. However, it looks to me that while both Blued and Grindr have a lot of local boys, Grindr appears to have a higher rate of MBs. In Thailand, I found that Hornet works better for Pattaya, Grindr for Bangkok and Blued is pretty decent for both. Vietnam is similar to Cambodia (Blued and Grindr), but you may want to install one more app - Zalo (as popular as Line in Thailand). Usually, app boys are gonna give you their Zalo contact. Another tip: if you are in Vietnam and try to find boys on app, beware of so-called online pimps, who also advertise their service on Blued, Grindr and Zalo. Many of those online pimps just scout the apps, looking for any boys who advertise themselves as MB (in Vietnam, we usually use the term call boy or cb instead), then create their own list of "models". As a result, the same boy may appear in multiple lists advertised by different pimps. In many cases, the pimps know next to nothing about their boys and can't answer your questions about the boy's sexual orientation, whether he looks like his pictures, what he would or would not do in bed, etc. Worse still, they also jack up the price quite a bit (for example, if you deal directly with the boy, he may ask for somewhere between 500K and 1 mil VND short time, about 700-1500B or 22-45 USD. Through a pimp, that would become 1-1.5 mil VND (and if they know that you are foreigners, they may quote the price in USD for even more money, so feel free to haggle). The more a pimp can charge you, the more commission he gets (30% of what the boy gets from you). Different pimps may quote you different prices for the same boy. I don't mind paying the pimps their cut if they actually do a their job of giving us some helpful intel about boys. But they more often than not don't. So I follow some pimps on Zalo to see pictures of the boys and then just do the opposite: scout the apps for familiar faces You also need to know where to put your location while searching. In Hanoi, for example, search the old quarter or Hoan Kiem lake. Ho Chi Minh city (see relevant locations a few lines above). One MB, who's currently working in Bi sauna in District 10 in Ho Chi Minh City, told me this intriguing story. He got a customer (a Vietnamese overseas) through a pimp and travelled all the way to meet the customer in his centrally-located hotel. The agreed price is 1.2 mil (which means the pimp's cut is 400K). However, the customer, for whatever reasons, changed his mind and didn't want sex. He offered the boy 500K for "meeting and chatting". FYI: I can confirm that the boy in question does look like his pictures, very cute in person as well, and can also do massage quite professionally. I used his service and was happy. Boy told me he had to give the pimp his cut of 400K no matter what (he also complained that pimps don't care if the deal didn't go through, they don't care if boys get in trouble with rogue customers, would not protect the boys because they themselves also know nothing about customers), and the remaining 100K wasn't even enough to cover his two-way taxi fare. So he insisted the customer pay the agreed amount because a deal is a deal. When the customer refused, you know what the boy did? Right there in the middle of the hotel lobby, he (kinda small-built) jumped on the guy (tall and big) and screamed in Vietnamese. I need a moment think how I should translate this into English... "Everyone, this jerk's trying to stiff a whore! This jerk's trying to stiff a whore!" (that's how we make a scene in Vietnam). You probably know the ending right? The customer paid up and the boy left, but damages already done. (to be continued)

  7. My recommendation. 1) Skip Jupiter. Hardly any smiles from guys and not cheap to off them. But it's fun to start with a drink at Circus or Telephone and people watch at 9pm. 2) Check out Banana Bar at Soi 4 at 9.30pm. 3) Leave at 10pm to go to Soi Patpong and visit Freshboys, HotMale and Dreamboys. 4) Go to Moonlight at 11.30pm after their model show has ended. If along the way, you see any guy you are keen to off, talk to him. If guy is ok with your arrangement, take him back to room and forget about the other bars!

Apparently Clarence Thomas wants to address contraception and same-sex marriage next. I wonder, will he stop there or will he try to reverse interracial marriage and slavery after that?

  9. (Part 4) To have a change of scene, I'm making a quick trip to Phnom Peng. Stayed in a centrally located hotel, close to a number of gay bars including the famous POC, Blue Chili and Heart of Darkness. My first time here so I booked a guide from Siam Roads for two night tours to gay places (tour time: 7pm to 12am, 49$ each tour). The night I landed, I checked Christian's list of gay massages in Cambodia (https://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2021/02/gay-massage-in-cambodia-2021.html) and found that Heco, a place highly recommended by a reader of his blog, is just 10 min walk from my hotel, so decided to pay it a visit. It's located right behind the Royal Palace. Staff speak very limited English. Just a simple question like "Can I see pictures of the boys?" took several attempts and still can't get across so I had to resort to Google translation (there was a farang, who looks like the owner, so I sought his help but turned out he doesn't speak English either). Finally staff showed me pictures of four guys on his phone and only one caught my eyes. "Sorry, he's out" (pointing outside) "Can you call him back?" Blank stare. After several more attempts and with help of the other boys on duty (all three of them), I finally got that it was the guy's day off and if I want him, I can come back tomorrow. Price-wise, massage here is pricy (20$ for 60min while only 10$ in other places). According to some report, masseurs expect 20$ tip for a happy ending and 30$ (if anal sex involved). I checked the list again and found the next nearest one is Hatha Khmer Massage in street 368 so decided to walk there. I usually prefer walking as it helps get my bearings of a new place and also complete my goal of at least 15K steps per day. When I reached the location shown on Google map half an hour later, I couldn't find the place, so I gave up and walked back to the hotel Fired Blued and talked to a cute boy. He asked for money, $40 for ST. I didn't really know if it was fair, but remember the tip guidelines above so counter with $30 for an hour. He okayed it. Since the boy can't meet before 5 pm and the next day I have a tour to go to at 7 pm, we scheduled it the day after. The next evening, I started my first night tour at 7 pm. Guide first took me to the only night market in Phnom Peng. We walked and talked about the local life on the way. There's nothing much to see in the market, so I tried some street food (for future references: don't. Every stall sells the same kind of food, which doesn't taste good and is also pricy. Guide told me he was shocked when he saw the bill. Then why didn't he tell me in the first place?) Then we booked a tuk-tuk via grab (to avoid being overcharged) back to the very place I couldn't find last night: Hatha Khmer Sauna and Massage. Guide couldn't find it either (first time for him too) so he asked for directions from a local boy. We found the place (no signage and very dark). The sauna part was already closed. Guide was like: what??? (he told me sauna would open until midnight and it wasn't even 9pm at that point). We walked over to the massage part (opened until 11pm, so it was still open when I walked there yesterday, I just didn't know how to find it) and this is an interesting part. We were led into a dark room with a curtain. Then they opened the curtain and the scene was impressive. There were about 20 guys standing in three rows behind a glass wall, all wearing only black boxers under flattering light. Mamasan asked me to choose. Despite a large number of guys, I couldn't find anyone I like. Many are quite big with a lot of tattoos. Some do look like they just murdered some customer somewhere and then came back here to murder some more. I know a certain member in this forum would be in heaven if he were in my shoes, so I discreetly tag him @vinapu. Guide checked his sources and found another sauna-massage place nearby. So we walked to Love Spa just a few blocks away in Street 350 only to see that customers are leaving and the place is about to close too. Turned out they don't have a fixed closing time. They open at noon and would close when there are only a few customers left. Entry: 10K riels (2.5$). I asked staff what should be busy time and they said it depends. Sometimes, customers come and see that there are not so many people around so they leave. In other words, it's busy when it's busy. Regarding masseurs, they only had two on duty and one look at them dashed all my hope for a massage with happy ending. We took grab tuk-tuk back to the center (it's really cheap, less than 1.5 USD each way) and stopped by HECO first. Again checked with the staff, this time the communication went smoothly as I have Guide as translator. They had 5 boys on duty today, 2 busy with customers, 3 available. Again the pictures on the phone, and again I pointed at the same guy yesterday, and again he was not in the house and I could come back the next day. I told Guide they told me exactly the same thing yesterday, and he passed the message. Turned out: to make sure he's here when I come, I need to make a booking. But I prefer to book only when I see the boy in person, so we left for Blue Chilli, about 3 min walk away. They have drag shows every Thu, Fri and Sat (closed on Sunday) at 11pm and the Cambodian mamasan (or manager/owner, I'm not sure) said their Queen troupe is the best in Cambodia. The bar was empty at that point but guy said if we come back around 10h30 pm, we would have to stand because it would be packed. Still early (9h30pm), I decided to move to POC nearby to check them out. Earlier, they did tap me on Grindr and their profile shows this info Boy shows means boys dancing in revealing clothes and currently they have only 3 coyote boys but staff told me they were not here tonight. So we went in. Tiny and empty, same as Blue Chilli. My cocktail drink cost 4.25 USD. Guide told me all the staff here are gay and can go with customers. You buy them drink (4.5 USD, boy gets 1 USD) and talk and negotiate the price. If you want to off them, bar fine is 10 USD. Just like in Thailand. There were 4 waiters milling around, 3 in uniforms and 1 in plain white t-shirt, who looks youngest and also cutest to me. I asked Guide how much boys expect for ST and LT. He said it depends on the boy, but ST should be 40-50$ while LT should be 60-100$, then added "For me, I would charge 100$". I don't know how to interpret that last comment so I just let it pass. So I waived the boy in plain white shirt over and offered him a drink. He speaks limited English but I had Guide with me, so no problem. 22 years old, 1m80 and 69 kg (a bit big and heavy for my taste but cute face, sweet smile and very nice eyes), from a nearby province. He still lives with his parents and travels to work by his motorbike (45min each way). He just started working here for about a month (having another day job with Amazon), with a salary of 170$ plus tips. That also explains why he dressed differently from other waiters: he's still on probation. So I asked the important question: does he go with customers and he said No, he just wants to earn tips by talking to them. He got several offers since working here but always turned them down. I looked questioningly at Guide, who earlier said all the staff here are offable. So I sought the boy's social contact, thinking maybe it's better and more discreet if I do the negotiation via messaging. Turned out he's indeed a newbie, no Blued, Hornet or Grindr accounts, doesn't even have Line. FB and Instagram only. I then tried another tactic, asking Guide to ask him why he didn't want to go with customers especially when he chooses to work in such a place. He said he doesn't want to go with local customers. I was like "I'm not Cambodian. You want to go with me?" I looked at the boy, who was embarrassed and averted his eyes and in turn looked at Guide. Guide was like "Come on!" Finally he slowly nodded, then said something in Khmer to Guide. Guide told me he said yes not just because of money but also because he likes me, so it's fifty-fifty. Then we moved to the part of price negotiation. He wanted me to make my offer first because he said he never had to deal with things like this before. Thinking about the last night deal, I said 40$ then Guide translated back (but I suspected he said something along that "everyone asks for 50, you should ask him for 50 too" line). So indeed the boy said he would go for 50$. Deal! To make sure that nothing wasn't lost in translation, I asked again if I really am his first customer. Confirmed, adding: he wasn't even sure what he's expected to do when with a customer. At that point, I had to ask if he slept with men before. Yes, got a boyfriend but already broke up, he was a bottom in that relationship. The "first customer" thing reminds me of one Thai boy who worked as a waiter in the old Jupiter (when it was still at the place where Moonlight now is). I offed him from the bar and had great time. He was a newbie, just started working at Jupiter and it looked like I was his first customer, fresh and nice, did whatever I told him to do and was undemanding. Then the second time when I told him to go straight to my hotel, I could tell his behavior changed. Asked for more money, asked for taxi fares, brought me a card with some English writing (most words misspelt, including my name) :), kept asking when I would see him again. Obviously, someone told him to do all kinds of stuff to win me over and more importantly get more money. He tried, but very awkwardly Back to the current situation. A group of young locals entered the bar just before show time and they all know Guide. So Guide picked the youngest and most small-built among them and literally pimped him to me as another option. I smiled and asked how much his friend wanted for ST. The expected answer: 50$. Then the POC show started a little late than 11pm, around the same time as the one in Blue Chilli. Since my waiter boy could only leave at the end of the show, we stayed to watch it. It was kinda meh. There was only one drag queen standing out to me, whom I tipped 2$ (as I saw someone tipped the performer before her 5000 riels or 1.25$). There was one boy dancer, who Guide said used to work with him in Toolbox before the bar closed down for good (he said Owner is back to Thailand now) and Guide appeared to pimp this one to me too. Boy is cute and I may consider if I didn't have the waiter boy first (but his dancing was all over the place, I wouldn't hire him to dance in bed). (to be continued)

  10. To be clear, I want anyone who decides to visit this tiny corner of Medellin to understand what they are walking into. If this is on your bucket list, then by all means head on down to Calle de los Pecados. Poor Angelo 25cm has seen his discussion forum hijacked @12is12 Here is a map of the area. Most will enter from the Metro station which is directly to the west (left) of this region. The area I have discussed sits in the upper right hand corner. Now if you need to refresh your aquarium, then you will need to visit this part of town as that is where those businesses exist. Otherwise I think it is prudent to skip this area, there are so many other places to visit in this city. The area with the tourist highlights -- and I do recommend that you visit during the day -- are in the Green Zone. So lots of buffer between then. Walking down Calle 57a during the day is unlikely going to start an incident, but after dark this neighbourhood is a very different place.

  11. while Jason's recommendation are sensible and workable my advice will be don't let and prejudices to cloud your judgement and visit all bars, Tawan and Jupiter included and don't forget about New Twilight where you can have buys on display as early as 9 pm. that's advice I'm always giving to myself as well If I , sworn hunk lover can find interesting guys in twink kingdoms of Fresh Boys or HotMale downstairs and even off some from time to time what makes you thinking any bar is out of bounds for you.

  16. https://edmonton.citynews.ca/2022/06/26/sundre-parade-float-racist/ This happened in Canada this weekend. A racist float in a rodeo parade in the heartland of Conservative party support. I post it here because these are the same people who tear down rainbow flags and deface rainbow street crosswalks by peeling out with their trucks. Those kinds of incidents have been on the rise and I believe are an offshoot of the anti-vaccine movement which has given these creeps a newfound boldness. The Conservative party, which says it's not racist or homophobic anymore and won't revoke a women's right to choose, is still as right wing Christian and redneck as it's even been. But the Liberals have been lurching from one political disaster to another all through their own incompetence and will probably lose the next election to the Conservatives who are about to elect a new leader who appears to be crazy and not in a good way. And so while many say the United States can't happen here, it can.

  17. This sounds more like Parque Duque where the Quebrada Santa Barbara river flows down underneath the neighbourhood (Medellin has hidden part of this river many years ago). The Parque Bicentenario is the park along this river in east Medellin which is a very popular place to chill out on the weekends

  18. It looks like I have been in all the right places. 😇 I would not compare Parque Bolivar and Parque del Periodista (or de los Periodistas, not sure which one is the name). Indeed, I would avoid both places at night. But the daylight experiences are quiet difference in one or the other. Bolivar is a noisy and hyperactive hub where, as I pointed, you can observe a wide diversity of urban fauna. In contrast, Periodistas is a quiet, calm, and I would even say magic urban corner. It is hard to believe that the rapid waters are not clean but coming from the sewer. The water does not smell, and with its noise covers the traffic and other regular city sounds. It is like stepping into an oasis of calmed nature amidst the above urban craziness. I did not see police, tourists, sex workers of any kind, or anyone older than 30, I was the only dinosaur there. No one was talking. I only saw here and there lonely men and women, or couples, from very young (probably 12 y.o.) to mid 30s, consuming some substances. You could also notice in the grass drugs parafernalia left overs, not enough to say that the place was a dump. It was the perfect place to sit and smoke one of the empanados we had just bought.

  19. I love it -- but it's all about perspective. I have pointed out here in other posts that the Parque Bolivar is a tourist attraction because a pivotal scene in Narcos was filmed there. So that is what brings in the tourists. But it is (as you pointed out) an open-use drug zone. Parque del periodistas is another. So if one is not comfortable in that environment then probably best to steer clear. There truthfully is nothing of note in this area, unless you must see all the churches in Medellin or need to update your fish tank (all of the aquarium shops are on Cra47 in this corner of La Candelaria -- no idea why)...

  20. Do you know what, Mac? I would include the square in front of the cathedral as a touristic attraction DURING DAYLIGHT. If you are identifiable as a Gringo, I would go with a local companion. I found it fascinating. It is a mix of countless policemen ignoring what was going on around, lumpen teens smelling glue, above 50s y.o. local clients cruising for a cheap fuck, several hot working class young men smoking weed and hustling, countless non attractive at all-ill looking-young men obvious and desperately offering themselves, beautiful very young she-males (I do not know what the politically correct term would be nowadays, in my times I would have said transvestites), admirably standing under the sun with their wigs and inches of make-up, and not sweating not even a micro-drop groups of White and Asian tourists walking with a guide, grabbing their purses and cameras, close to each other like an infantry platoon opening their way in zombie apocalypse Female prostitutes (unlike their male counterparts, they were at least average looking, I did not notice any female junkies), doing their way to avoid their Fabulous competition Regular local men and women passing by, walking fast Retired men walking around street vendors In my opinion, it worths a visit. I specially enjoyed observing the interactions between the johns and the hustlers

I wonder If I go to BBB and ask the mamasan, is P and R working tonight? would I get the same guys? lol If not, Vinapu, more guidance appreciated!

  25. I don't think I mentioned anywhere that Bayioke is 4 star if only because only star rating I care about in Thailand is 7 1/2 Michelin stars Foodland Patpong was awarded long ago along with Unesco Heritage plate. While location is a little bit , how to say ? less shiny perhaps, I don't know why It would be undesirable. Certainly I did not see nor sense any danger there and as I said shopping is better than Silom or Chatuchak if I know what shopping is which is not sure thing. Yes , it's a distance from Silom gay venues but it's few minutes 80-100 baht taxi ride. Yes I paid 200 for tuk-tuk but it could be easily bargained down because driver while quoting told us right away ' no turists now". I did not feel like haggling over 50 baht. I will try Banyan Tree next time I have urge to waste money on some better accommodation as I usually do every trip for 2-3 nights just to treat myself and boost my self esteem but I used word ' waste' deliberately because I never really see that difference in amenities and comfort justifies difference in price. If you think Banyan tree doubling Baiyoke price is also offering doubled comfort of stay I'm curious to check what that doubled comfort is next time I can. But I understand others, like you, may feel differently. The same can be said about restaurants and of all things , boys indeed. I'm in that category as more often than not I'm happier with guys I tipped higher than standard or market. Since I stay in Baiyoke already what will be a point to read comments by people I don't even know on Trip Advisor ? I have my own experience and it was very good. If somebody did not like things I liked or overlooked it that complainer issue , not mine. I do read at times posts on Agoda for hotels I know from own experience and one thing is sure , there always will be people who will be complaining about anything, including water being too wet and along of them will be those who will praise everything happy that water was available at all. While I also like European vacations ( going there soon ) any price over 60 euros is bleeding my heart dry. very touchy subject, yes I did and when transferring my trip phots from phone to my computer I did something I still don't know what that pics disapeared from phone but can't them find on my comp anywhere. So short answer is : regretfully no Looks kind of far but it's really few minutes hop by taxi with benefit everybody knows where Baiyoke is. Even by bus 77 it will be 10-15 minutes max . Taxi from hotel to Patpong will be 80-100 generous tip included.

  26. From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Pattaya’s celebration of gay rights this weekend was the city’s first public parade in the unfolding post-Covid era where mask wearing has just become voluntary. Hundreds of people of all genders, sex workers, feminists and a large contingent of drag artists journeyed in an impressive display of unity and solidarity. As is now the norm in LGBTIQ+ demonstrations worldwide, glamor, gilt and glitter are the principal eye candy for onlookers. The parade comes at a pivotal moment for gay rights in Thailand as a bill to grant same-sex civil union status is currently wending its bureaucratic way through parliament. This is seen as more likely to pass than full marriage because of opposition to complete equality in sections of the military-backed government. The Pattaya pressure group Alliance for Gender Equality says not to worry as, even in the UK, gay civil unions historically preceded marriage. They point out that homosexuality was classified in Thailand as a psychiatric disorder as recently as 2005. Never try to hurry the Orient is the rule of thumb. The pink pound or gay dollar has always been an important cash source for international tourist-dominated Pattaya. Both City Hall and the Tourist Authority of Thailand were amongst the parade sponsors this year. The gay entertainment districts known as Boyztown and Jomtien Complex are in urgent need of resuscitation after more than two years in the financial desert. Yet the new commercialism goes deeper than that. For example, Starbucks and Swensens were both offering a discount ticket worth 100 baht (roughly two pounds or three US dollars) for anyone showing a hotel keycard or an email booking.

  29. Yes I agree that location counts against Baiyoke Sky Hotel especially if I am in a bar in Silom. But then, @vinapu was right to take a tuktuk back to hotel. Surely unforgettable experience and not expensive for 200 baht.
    1 point
  30. I re-read your post. You are referring to Baiyoke Sky Hotel. This hotel is not in a desirable location, and it's not even close to 4 star. I would stay at Banyan Tree, but not Baiyoke. Banyan Tree is at least double your Baiyoke price. Please read reviews on TripAdvisor and you'll see what people said about Baiyoke. BTW, I have no problem vacationing in Europe, am gladly paying >200 euro per night.

thanks God we all are different, for me that's exactly pull of Furama Sathorn or Baan Silom, further from main street wilt walk through the sois and markets. It may be the same issue with Malysia hotel, for me it's too far from the scene requiring long walk or taxi but some may find it as advantage , further from hustle and bustle and taxi cost are miniscule in great scheme of things. I second remark by the speedo1 about good restaurants in soi Sri Bumphen

  35. This evening there was more of a party atmosphere in the Boyztown Soi with some rather tasty complementary food on offer outside the Ambiance. They have also re-installed the tables outside, but without service. I eat my free food there watching the gathering crowd in which everyone seemed to know everyone else. The ladyboys in Copa were in full voice with frequent piercing screech’s during the show, which seemed to be well attended. There did not seem to be many entering the Boyz Boyz show, with no Chinese ladies going in. Toy boys at the other end of the soi seemed completely lacking in customers. i did intended to visit Jomtien this evening but I have contracted a cold and have been avoiding alcohol and trying to get plenty of sleep. In fact I dosed off on the beach this afternoon after drinking a coconut (50 baht for a large one), where I went to read a Michael Connelly book. This morning I actually made contact with a boy from Grindr for a rather bland short time. I had virtually given up trying to understand that medium. I think there must be something wrong with my installation. I messaged a boy who replied, but when I asked him where he was , he stated “Koh Samui”. I had entered Pattaya in my parameters. ive had a wander down Walking Street where things are really humming. All the gogos seemed to have reopened with a lot of visitors in evidence from India and the Middle East. That might be the future for Pattaya with the West sliding into recession.

  36. From my trip 3 years ago, I had no issues walking around the city center at day; also around the cathedral and Parque Bolivar - which was actually closed/fenced off at that time - but from reading the warnings in here I didn't walk the streets west of the Cathedral. Homeless people and drug addicts will mind their own business. Obviously, you need to be aware of/look out for pickpockets. It was OK for me and much more interesting area than El Poblado, but maybe it is just me. I also walked past the cathedral on the way to the hustler bars in calle 57 one evening, but I agree with the previous posters that this zone should be avoided after dark; even for me it was bit too rough. Plaza Botero and Parque Berrio, however, are fine at night. A lot of people there - and heavy police presence as I recall it. The area east of the nearby main road, Ave. Oriental, also seemed fine to me.

  39. I recall visiting a Sunee bar on one of my first trips to Thailand many years ago. I really enjoyed spending time with one of the boys in the bar and his cute friend. I tipped them overly generously - I still recall how shocked he was by how much money I gave him at the end of the evening. When I went back the next day one was sporting an enormous knock off wristwatch that seemed to already be broken. His friend gave him quite a ribbing over it. I remember thinking it was a pretty dumb thing to waste his money on. But they were quite young, and as said they certainly didn't have any kind of money management skills. I think it's a society-wide issue though in many ways. Everyone trying to impress others with money and living beyond their means. These days apparently a lot of younger people in America have fallen into debt thanks to all of these online shopping apps that have "buy now, pay later" credit. Buy this t-shirt for $60 and pay it off in 6 months sort of thing.

  41. Actually I disagree with that for the simple reason that Sunee is exactly a dark and out-of-the-way sort of place. In Winner Boys it is still possible to have discrete, but 'very intimate' conversations with the boys; dark corners for dark deeds, so to speak, and even occasionally with 'happy' conclusions to those conversations. Not as 'in-your-face' as the more openly 'hands-on' that you get in Nice Boys, but still a level of customer/boy 'intimacy' that you never see in Jomtien Complex, or in Boyztown now for that matter. They can get away with it in dark, forgotten little Sunee Plaza, but I just can't see that model being allowed anywhere else in the gay areas of Pattaya - I would love to be wrong on that but .... Sunee Plaza and Winner Boys (& Nice Boys) is still worth regular pilgrimage. Winner Boys might not be as packed-out with customers as it could be, but free of Covid restrictions, it can still be a nice modest little 'earner' for its boss and its boys with its current level of traffic.

  42. did Tarntawan ever get rid of the concrete beds? I stayed there just once on my first ever visit to Thailand. The beds were so hard...it was my first intro to Asian style mattresses I guess. I've stayed at the Crowne Plaza on my most recent trips. Not perfect, but the location is great. And I am a bit of an IHG loyalist. But I agree that Le Meridien is quite nice. Haven't been there since SPG was taken over by Marriott.

    The jomtien complex

That roof generates differing opinions. For example, my mate thinks its great and the prefect protection from the elements. Personally I miss being able to sit out in the soi of a night with a drink and a boy and look up at the stars; the romantic in me haha. Fortunately for me there are still bars in the Complex outside the roofed area, such as little JoJo Bar just across from Soda Massage where I can still drink, chat to a boy and gaze up at the stars 😂.

  46. Very quick reports on some recent massage shop visits. (In no particular order) I-Come & S'Sense I-Come is a new (a couple of months) shop on Suan Phlu between s. 6 and s. 8. It's a nicely done space with the same set up as S'Sense down the street at the foot of s. 8: ground floor reception, upstairs some foot massage chairs, up some more stairs to massage rooms. Both have massage tables with face cutouts. I-Come has showers in the room, S'Sense was a shared shower/bathroom in the hall but I think some rooms may have a shower. The tables at S'Sense are extra-long, so even the over 6' crowd can easily be accommodated. Pictures of the crew are available for both and you can walk in or book ahead. S'Sense Line Id: @nai4795h S'Sense Facebook S'Sense Photos I-Come Line ID: @I_Come I-Come Facebook At I-Come I just took the guy offered. Massage was ok-ish/soft messy caressy too much oil. Masseur fully-clothed throughout and no happy ending offered - a bit of a surprise given the name. So I'm filing them under F for False Advertising. I may go back again because the guys are very nice and friendly, but I may not because the massage was truly "meh" and no happy ending. I have to believe that it was just bad luck on the masseur. He was certainly cute as can be, and having a cute 22-24 gently caress these aching bones is not a hardship. So I encourage others to go and give the new shop some business and you'll likely have better luck. But still, with a name like that, every customer should be offered a happy ending. Others have reported on S'Sense before. I booked someone I already knew and got exactly what I was expecting - ok-to-good/messy caressy massage. Masseur fully-clothed throughout. I left happy. I think at S'Sense and I-Come there just may be some guys who include the happy ending in the massage and some guys who just don't. I recall across the photo of one guy at S'Sense "No Hanky Panky" is written. So I guess ask, and if the manager can't confirm one way or the other at booking then skip if you think it's important. Prices may change and they're all offering promotions right now, so check their Line for latest prices. They seem to be roughly (+/-) comparable priced. I think around 500 for 60 minute oil. Somewhere I came across a S'Sense post looking for masseurs, I think it said something along the lines of 25K minimum salary and they could provide among other things massage training if you worked there 6-12 months. !!! From the customer's perspective, ahem, we like to see the training before..... (Of course it's possible I mis-translated it.) This is in the S'Sense photo's price list, which is sort of cute if it means what I think it means: I want to change my name to Happy Hand. Spa Atlantis Line ID @spa_atlantis Facebook Spa Atlantis has been open about a year and is a short easy five minute walk from the Lat Phrao MRT station. Everyone is very friendly. I had a big room with a massage table and private shower. Everything very clean and nice. Bathroom in the hall. I just went with the guy who was offered. Pictures are available and you can certainly request someone who catches your fancy. The manager has the pics on his phone if you just walk in. I would say better than average looking guys. I am pretty sure there's a face cutout, but not 100% sure. I thought manager was very nice and very responsive on Line. Right now I think they're offering a promotion of 60 minute oil massage for 500 or 3 for 1,000 (buy 2 get 1 free?). Certainly check when booking for promotions. I've had two massages there. One regular oil which was perfectly fine (and ended happy). Maybe a bit too much oil for my taste. Plenty of butt massage, which I like. Masseur fully clothed. But my read on the shop's vibe is that full service is available. Just not what I was looking for when I've gone. I have also been to Spa Atlantis for the japkasai or kasai testicle massage - because, why not? This is the serious sort of massage that the masseur who performs it got a certificate for and sexual release has NOTHING to do with it. I'll say it was interesting. I personally prefer that the family jewels be treated gently and with love and respect and I was expecting the more tantric offerings of Dr. Bear and Spa Bangkok, which as Goldmember once observed, is more like 30-40 minutes of edging. Instead this was rigorous push-pull, on your knees soldier, bordering on painful. If you like your ball play on the rough side this is for you. 'Nuff said. So worth checking out and giving these guys business and a perfect place to stop by on your way home after a visit to Chatuchak. Spa Bangkok Nothing new to report. I love these guys. Prime Just got back from Prime and their magical 1 hour foot/1 hour thai massage for 500B. Cant' beat that. The masseur was a superstar. Definitely some pain involved. But that is just Thai massage at it's best. No sexual anything, but sometimes perhaps the masseur would be reaching to massage with one hand and the only logical place to rest his other hand would be gently on top of, and cupping, my genitals. Not it a gay way. Just in that way guys do. Nothing sexual about it. And the gluteus massage was great and there should have been more. My ass hasn't been man-handled like that since I was in the Boy Scouts. (Too soon???). Seriously, a great massage and like any good Thai massage your whole body gets the attention it needs. Glutes and all.
