Unexpected reunions and few shattered dreams - 22nd trip to Thailand in May 2022

Day 3 After morning round, shower together and then compensation time. 3000 is my long time offer and V is giving me back 1000 saying that 2000 is enough. To his credit it took some persuasion for him to accept my offer, well deserved after all and matching what I paid him when we met in Dec. I was still pleased by his lack of greed . Advantage of dealing with guy who is nor bar affiliated and has regular job. After financials were settled we went to Foodland for breakfast and parted our ways , not for long that’s sure . I went to dentist Dr. Smile to fix chipped out tooth at substantial savings compared to home prices. In between all that debauchery there are some digital activities. Some guy from Grindr is sending me at least twice a day messages’ do you want massage” , no name , no nick , no face pic on his profile but picture is showing quite muscular torso and thigs so I asked if picture is his and he confirmed. One of members is recommending me masseur he had home visit from when he was in Thailand earlier and I’m taking that recommendation seriously as he is one who found V and helped me in Dec to hook up with former model X. And speaking about X, he is sending me Line messages subtly asking to visit his business, no doubt having hope for some lucrative contracts for in the room meetings. So I went to see it all the way to lower Sukhumvit but it turned up he gave me wrong directions , did not find his business but had a chance to see unknown part of BKK. Upon return to Raya I collapsed on the bed – jet lag, usually third day which is today is worst for me. After hour or two sleeping I went to see some curiosity reader reported on in winter – Polish sweet shop Paczkarnia in Chula University campus. Since it’s not that far really and I’m not Asian I just walked there and found it quite easily with help of google maps and small polish flag hanging outside , tasted their paczek (donut) and cold coffee called Warsaw Fog and kept walking to National Stadium BTS to return home by train. At 8 p.m. jimbill, anddy and me met at G’Bangkok, German restaurant in soi 4 for a dinner. For some reason this trip I developed taste for their schnitzels and world will see me dining there almost daily, bringing few guys with me so they could taste farang food. There’s security – they have Thai and fusion food on the menu in case your guy is not keen on farang stuff. Well fed all three of us set for discovery mission , New Twilight bar , newest addition to Bangkok scene and quite impressive at that. Clearly lot of money was spent sprucing the place and we were curious how it is. Few boys in t-shirt and jeans on the stage , few familiar faces from other bars , quite a few new and visibly shy on the stage but shyness was soothed by few red notes and it was kind of visible that tip was booster to newbies standing. More next door type with aspirations and as far as I could see most of them offable. Show first though, well choreographed with good execution and real dancing. No nudity though. After show guys returned to stage bare chested which confirmed that # 4 on whom I had my eyes from beginning. I saw his pics earlier somewhere so called him over. Let call him S , Cambodian, quite very handsome so I did not waste much time , agreed to go with me. What about the price ? Sticker shock, 3000 short time , 5000 long. As uninvited mamasan explained before anybody asked that’s the model price for model quality. That ambitious assessment although guy stood out a bit so being in early, naïve and still well financed stage of my trip I agreed . Bar has funny vibe, in big part thanks to youngish owner who seeing that off is in the cards rushed I out advertising promotion “ take 2 boys and third one will be free and that will be me “. Not excessive claim and yes for free I’d consider to take him out as he looks quite good , at least when fully dressed. So we had fun and I got a guy. He declined my usual dinner offer but hearing that tomorrow morning jimbill and me are going to Grand Palace, expressed an interest in going with us. He was not even unfazed when I told him that we are going early in order to beat the crowds and breakfast will be at 7.30. Good catch and quite energetic , accepting even early morning gymnastics so I was happy with my day 3 and guy who helped me to finish the day but was it worth 5000 ? My original note from that morning says ‘ overpaid but not without sense “ which for me means next off only next trip but yes , I’d go for him but at standard price , perhaps more than once but S is lacking muscle for me to pay premium fee.8 points -

Day 2 : Grindr Day On day 1 of my trip to Bangkok, I already had the feeling that the Bangkok bar scene wasn’t the same anymore. Not sure if the glass was half full, or half empty. Thai people call day 2 of my visit Visakha Bucha Day, a public holiday that commemorates the 3 mayor events in the life of Buddha. All bars are closed today and now Patpong looks really bad and deserted, especially after dark. Without the neon lights, these sois are really ugly. Glass 200% empty... For me, day 2 was a Grindr Day. When you connect to the app, it is easy to make contact to boys in the neighborhood. I recognize one of the boys I had been drinking with in 4T-bar in Jomtien during pre-covid visit, so I invite him over. He now is freelancer, travelling between Pattaya and Bangkok. He advertises as “happy boy” and sure he made me very happy. As it was time for lunch afterwards, I invite him to Indigo Restaurant, a real referenced Michelin restaurant on Covent Road. I don’t often offer food to boys, but happy I did it this time. It is amazing to see how many of the better looking twinks are now freelancing on apps instead of working in bars. In the evening, I invited a boy that used to work in Lucky Boys. I met him during my last visit in January 2020 : he was very sexy and so polite. He even asked me then if he could take a selfie, as he really liked the lightening in Raya. He still uses this picture as one of his profile pics. Nowadays, he doesn’t work in a bar anymore, but is only freelancing on the apps. He was a dud this time : I won’t do this, I won’t do that, … Instead of offering him dinner and do repeat offs later, I just paid him and send him away. I had dinner in the 10 star MacDonalds restaurant, a brand I never visit in my own country, so it gives me a real holiday feeling.5 points -
Ok, thanks for giving the green light. I didn't know whether you are ok with me mentioning you. Forum readers, please let me tell you that @Min is great fun to hang around. He is very observant for example when were at Freshboys, he noticed how 2 guys are brothers! He also remembers which boys take part in the show. "Last week, this boy danced in coyote show," he pointed out to me. How I wish @Min would start writing his own trip reports. When I met him, it was his last night in Thailand. He would be travelling in the region and would be back in Thailand in 2 weeks. Do consider sharing your observations and insights via a trip report!5 points

Back in Bangkok after 2 years

Thailand has three seasons. There is the "cool" season between December and February where the midday temperature is about 31 or 32 degrees and little rain. Then there's the hot dry season from March to May with daily maximums reaching 35 to 37 degrees. Humidity rises month by month till it gets quite uncomfortable in May. Not much rain. The monsoon arrives in June. This is warm rain coming down in buckets for about 1 or 2 hours a day, about 4 or 5 days each week. Often with thunder and lightning. Quite different from the gentler but more persistent rain seen in Europe. Between rainstorms, it tends to be hot ( max 33 or 34 degrees) and humid, but after it has rained, the rest of the day is cooler. Rainy days reach a peak in September. That month and October is also when Bangkok is most likely to flood. The amount of monsoon water coming down the Chao Praya river is huge. My observation is that the cool season tourism peak is largely a farang (westerner) phenomenon. Partly it's because, as others have said, the weather is the best of the three seasons, but I think an equally important driver is the fact that Europeans and Canadians are keen to escape their winters. Pre-covid, the mass migration of Russians each winter to the beaches of Thailand was impossible to miss. Asian tourists - and they are the majority of visitors that Thailand gets - are more used to higher humidity and tropical weather. I don't think there is much of a peak for them, with the possible exception of a trough in March and April when the daily maximums are too hot even for them. Most Asian countries also have monsoonal weather patterns, and rain is hardly a deterrent to them. They are used to it and know how to cope. Summers in Taiwan and Japan are not different from Thailand's monsoon season. Then there are the farang visitors who through experience have adapted to Thailand's temperatures and moisture levels, and they are quite happy to come in any season. Adaptation includes knowing what to wear for warm humid days: the lightest possible cotton t-shirts, shorts and sandals. Have a broad-brimmed hat if you want to avoid sunburn on the bald patch. Learn from the Asians and always walk in the shade, never in the sun if at all you can avoid it. In Europe the sun is your friend; in the tropics, the shade is your friend. Scoot into air-conditioned malls regularly to cool off and hydrate frequently. I don't think there is all that much difference between the conditions in Bangkok and the close-by beach towns. The main difference is that the beaches get a steady sea breeze which even in the hottest months, is very pleasant. But if one is not a beach aficionado and spend little time on the beach, then the built-up parts of the beach towns feel pretty similar to built-up Bangkok.4 points -
Day 6. I took BTS to Saphan Khwai to visit K Man Spa which has been getting good reviews by forum members. It was 2pm and there was only one guy in glasses at counter. Geeky and so my type. I settled on aroma massage. 600 baht for 1.5 hours. Minimum tip of 800 baht. Counter guy showed me photos of available massage guys using his handphone. "I want gay only," I said. From more than 10 guys, the selection was narrowed down to 2 guys. I looked at the photos and picked the shorter guy. The other guy was 1.8 metres tall and too tall for me. "I bring you to room first while i call Mr J to come," said counter guy. What a waste that counter guy wasn't gay. He took me to 2nd floor to a longish room. I took a shower in toilet outside and then got ready on massage bed. 10 minutes later, Mr J came in. He was fully clothed and had sling pouch over his shoulder. He had obviously been at home or elsewhere and rushed down after receiving message. "Thank you for waiting. Give me one moment." He went out for quick shower and came back in towel. I believe counter guy had already told him that I was specifically looking for gay massage guys. Mr J removed his towel and started massaging me in the nude. Excellent 1.5 hours spent - Mr J took the initiative and did everything first - sucking, fucking and kissing! He was a bit rough for my taste when it came to fucking but it was still ok. I love our kissing when i was on his dick. Eventually, I ejaculated on his body, happy to have found Mr J. I didn't insist he cum. He took me to toilet outside and showered with me while washing off the aroma oil. I happily tipped him 1500 baht and left a happy customer.3 points

To be fair, Covid presented the industry with the perfect storm: pilots who had no planes and attendants who had no passengers to attend. After keeping them on payroll for months they offered early retirement to most senior people and laid off a ton of others.then they had to mothball aircraft they wouldn’t be using. When the urge to travel returned they were unable to build back staff in sufficient numbers. You can recall furloughed pilots but you have to put them through simulator training to get their skills back.other categories of employees took jobs elsewhere (as Vinapu recently noted). You can’t train new pilots in a few weeks or few months. It’s a time consuming and expensive endeavor. Flight attendants need at least two months of training and ground somewhat less. And the most overlooked workers were those who literally make the planes run on time: gate agents, baggage handlers, refuelers, tarmac traffic directors, mechanics, ticket agents. IMO, the carriers have done their best to recover. It’s the airports that also laid off tons of lower paid workers, many of whom found employment elsewhere. Travel demand may be returning to pre-Covid levels but the travel infrastructure will take considerably longer to catch up.3 points

Readers of my reports will probably have formed the impression of me as a hopless romantic seeking intimicy and friendship. It's generally true because back in Singapore, I am discrete and am not in the gay scene. So when I am in Bangkok, I seek guys to talk to and hang out with. I have come to know several guys well over the past 5 years - P and T plus a Vietnam guy who went back to Ha Tinh and whom I have been giving financial support every month. I call him "kon nuoi" and he calls me "cha nuoi" - which means godson and godpa respectively. But sometimes lust takes over and this is what happened when I called a guy down from the stage at Freshboys. Mamasan came immediately to me with a worried look. "Lao boy. No speak English. Top." "It's ok," I replied. I just wanted to be fucked wildly tonight.3 points

Just reading the latest news on Thailand legalising marijuana this week. I think it's great that times are changing all over the World . I'm not into drugs taking of any sort but it's no use fighting a war over a drug that doesn't seem to make people violent.( Unlike alcohol) I hope the rest of the world including Australia follows suit.2 points

The Ibis hotel chain will soon open a new location on Silom, opposite the Bangkok Christian Hospital. Ibis has other locations in the city. Rooms tend to be on the small side but so do their rates. Ibis Styles Silom plans a soft opening beginning June 24. It’s set about 100 feet back from the street. https://www.facebook.com/ibisStylesBangkokSilom/2 points

From The Thaiger The Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases yesterday sentenced a cop to 50 years in prison for taking bribes, totalling 641,000 baht, from a Bangkok massage parlour. The unnamed police officer was indicted on 65 counts of bribe-taking after turning a blind eye to illegal activities at the massage parlour on Ratchadaphisek Road. The ruling was published in a Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission news bulletin last month which revealed the policeman, attached to the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Investigation Division, was found guilty of bribe-taking. The court found the defendant guilty of violating the anti-graft law and was initially sentenced to 325 years in prison, five years for each of the 65 counts of bribe-taking. However, the law states he can only spend a maximum of 50 years in prison.2 points

It's a double-edged sword right? I was at Thermas in Barcelona last week on a Wednesday and it was deserted. A handful of boys and clients were at the premises, and the general consensus was if the clients don't come, most boys don't as well. Which makes sense. The boys are not fixed employees, and they won't come if there are no clients. Even worse with the entry fee for the boys, which is also true in the Brazil saunas. I may be wrong but it is different in the Bangkok bars right? The boys get a cut every night for showing up? I may not be recalling this right. Still, yes, the premise is sound. You will get your pick of the litter if there is fewer competition. I make the most of it when I am in any establishment (exception was Sauna GO.63 in Sao Luis, Maranhao in Brasil - 2021 was not a good year for that sauna), and tend to get some fun out of the emptiest of bars. I remember when Brazil first reopened in July 29, 2020 - I immediately went to Rio a few days later. I found a deserted Ponte 202 in Copacabana on a Saturday with only 3 boys and only me as a client. So drank and partied with all 3 in the premises and they shared with me how tough the pandemic was. I think I had a threesome with 2 of them and tipped the third guy. That was fun. Yes for only one night. I have a jam-packed schedule for that next trip and it took me some clever maneuvering to even get one night in Pattaya. But I intend to make the most of it. My days of luxuriating in Thailand for weeks at a time have ended. There is so much more of the world to see. Yes, my spy has told me the same thing, that things are more or less fine and I should go, that's why I am trying to go. And thanks for the tips on where to stay. I may try Classroom since it is recommended by a few of you here. Looks like I won't be sleeping at all in Pattaya with all that activity!2 points

At night, I went to Moonlight. It was 10pm but it was a full house. There were 4 rich Thais sitting with Nicky with bottle service. Smart, Tam and Babe were standing and drinking with them together with mamasan. Nicky has his fans! Only some seats left and I had to sit at the side. But it was a good seat because I get to watch the boys on stage so closely and I get to look at the audience. I saw a group of 6 young Taiwanese tourists in their mid 20s. I really envy the guys in Taiwan. Their society is so open and accepting of gays. The 6 Taiwanese tourists thoroughly enjoyed the show when they left. One of them tipped the models on behalf of the whole group. They didn't off anyone. I presume because they were already coupled up and had each other. I can imagine them partying like no tomorrow at DJ Station. 5 models tonight - Smart, Nut, Tam, Nicky and Babe. Smart and Nut took part in an impressive Spanish bull fight. Nicky had an individual show as a broken hearted lover. At the end of his show, he opened his jacket to show a blood-stained shirt inside. Even though his lip synching was on point and he put up a good performance, it could not compare to Babe's performance. Babe did an energetic dance number to Jackson Wang's hit single LMLY with the opening lyrics: You don't call me baby You call me my name But I keep on hoping Nothing has changed Babe is a natural performer. I dare say the audience would agree that his performance was the best of the night. Except for Nicky's fans! Lol! Total of 12 floor boys. After show ended at 11.30pm, only 8 floor boys came out meaning 4 offs during the show. I found 3 of the 8 very offable but i had already had my share of fun in the afternoon with Mr J at K Man Spa massage. I slipped a 100 baht tip to no.15 and left for the night.2 points

Absolutely, a cop in the small Canadian city where I live told me it could get by with two police officers (instead of 30) if it wasn't for alcohol. This is the case in many smaller communities in Canada where almost all of the police activity is related to alcohol. The question now is whether legal pot will replace alcohol over time and will crime and police calls go down.2 points

From Bangkok Post Tourism operators have reached an agreement with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to propose a visa fee exemption for international arrivals and an eligibility extension for visitors from nations not requiring a visa to enter the country from 30 to 45 days during the second half of this year. A joint meeting between the TAT and more than 100 representatives from 10 tourism associations yesterday ended with five proposals that are expected to be presented to the subcommittee of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) next week. "All tourists should have been treated on an equal basis. If possible, we should also provide a fee waiver for multiple entry to allow them to visit neighbouring countries during the same trip," said Bhummikitti Ruktaengam, president of the Phuket Tourist Association. “This could be a good opportunity for us to lead the reopening of CLMV [Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam]." At present, Thailand grants a visa exemption to 56 countries whose citizens don't have to apply for a visa or pay the 1,000-baht fee, but the stay is limited to 30 days. However, most countries, including potential markets such as India, still require visitors to apply for a visa and pay an application fee for a stay of no more than 60 days. The visa-on-arrival (VOA) option, which is the leading choice among visitors who do not wish to deal with the inconvenience of visiting a Thai consulate, costs 1,500 baht. However, this option only allows a visitor to stay in Thailand for a maximum of 15 days. The 30-day limit may be insufficient for the current environment as tourists nowadays wish to take longer trips, as seen by the increase in average spending per visitor from 47,000 baht to 77,000 baht, said Yuthasak Supasorn, governor of the TAT. He said among high-spending tourists the visa fee amount may be insignificant, but if they can save on this cost it would leave them more money to spend while travelling around the country, which would directly stimulate the local economy. As the government previously extended the right to remain in the country from 30 to 45 days during the period when quarantine was required, if tourism operators want to seek another extension, it should not be an obstacle, said Mr Yuthasak. “We totally agree with the proposal to waive the visa fee for those who must apply for a visa, in addition to extending the length of stay for both visa-free countries and the VOA," said Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi, president of the Thai Hotels Association. "The longer they stay, the more they can spend more locally." In addition to visa issues, the private sector also agreed to ask the CCSA to lift restrictions on night entertainment hours by returning to the same practices adopted by each area before the pandemic. They also support the idea of promoting Thailand as a mask-free destination by revoking the mask mandate in all areas.2 points

I said goodbye to fellow forum member who went off for supper while I took Laos boy back to hotel. 22 years old. Straight. New. Only been in Bangkok for one month. I had to use Google Translate to communicate with him. Fortunately, I had bought a bottle of Jack Daniel from Duty Free shop at airport. Laos boy enjoys the drink and ice was broken. Sex was wonderful even though he didn't kiss. And so ended day 5.2 points

Before Covid, Freshboys was in my top 3 bars (the others being Lucky Boys and Screwboys). I am happy to report that Freshboys remains the same as before. Lots of boys (about 15 to 16) of all types. All nationalities available. However, all in jeans. No parading in underwear. So have to rely on looking at their charming faces and fit bare bodies. No. 1 and No. 8 stood out for me for being extremely handsome. I also looked at the waiters and found them very handsome as well! Show started at 10.15pm which is earlier than expected. I believe once there's around 10 customers, they will start show. Fellow forum member and I were given front seats. First act was ladyboy lip synching. Only one ladyboy in the bar and she does 3 perfomances. "She's the in-house ladyboy," said fellow forum member which made me laugh. Such a pity that there's no trained dancers to accompany her on stage. There's coyote dancing by 5 of the floor boys but some of them are just not natural dancers. Other acts in the show included a solo jerk off, a SM routine between in-house ladyboy as a domimatrix and a guy in SM gear, big cock show with cock hitting metal poles (4 guys) and fucking show by 2 guys. I tipped most of the performers. Show ended at 11.30pm. Floor guys came back on stage. I had lost track of the time. "Are we still going to Moonlight?" I asked fellow forum member. Before covid, bars had two shows at 10plus and midnight but now bars close at midnight. Pointless to go to Moonlight with only half an hour left. So decision made to remain at Freshboys. Now to decide whether to off a guy.2 points

I had a great time chatting and interacting with fellow forum member. We shared experiences and information. "You should really go to Pattaya," he said since I like twinks. Actually, I am not sure myself. While I like twinks, I have also offed musclemen and average guys in the past. I told fellow forum member that I will go to Pattaya one day. Tonight, we planned to go to Freshboys and then Moonlight. After paying for the bill, I looked for P. I said goodbye to him and slipped him a 1000-baht note.2 points

Day 2 In the morning K was not hungry so went home and I went to world famous for a breakfast alone. After that I took my prescription and went to order new glasses. My current ones are also Bangkok natives and when I made them 6 years ago there was substantial difference between home and Thailand prices, less than half if I recall. Not so much now, another sign that LOS is moving up economically. Then booked dental appointment at Dr. Smile on Silom by Patpong and marched back to Tarntawan to pack and move to Raya. Their policy is to allow check in only after 3 pm although I doubt they are that full so I left luggage at reception and went to 7/11 on Suriwong around the corner from Tawan where I was supposed to meet K at noon for our Mahanakhon trip. Minute or two before noon I got ‘where you are ‘ message from him and indeed at noon on the dot he showed up. At K insistence we took taxi, laughable idea for such short distance but if he wanted , so be it. Actually I’m glad we did because shockingly it turned out driver took order but he doesn’t know where MahaNakhon is and we are taking highest building in Thailand with very distinctive shape. Past Chong Nonsi BTS he kept driving and driving until I intervened and he turned back. It must be something with that structure because here where I live I know personally guy who went there by BTS , disembarked as instructed by me at Chong Nonsi and still couldn’t find it even if Mahanahkon is practically atop of that station. Perhaps too close ? Anyways up we went and on approach to the famous glass I could see that my muscular guy is sweating extensively. Are you scared? ‘yes” . But to his credit he went there, allowed me to take few shots on his camera but no, he did not repeat my trick of laying face down on the glass. At least I could impress him. Fortunately he took all that stress well and was clearly happy with experience, when we visited impressive toilet with the view one floor down did not have problem of looking into chasm through the window. On the way to Raya we stepped at World famous for a lunch . In Raya room was already ready so we could start our scheduled massage session right away and no , it was not him who massaged me but other way around and I still paid him for a privilege, not that massage lasted whole 3 hrs. Great 3 hours. After he left heavy rain poured all of the sudden. I even expected he may be back but no he braved it to Tawan where his bike was parked he told me later. Jet lag and rain knocked me down and I collapsed on the bed till well past 8p.m. Woke up, showered and went to Hot Male downstairs for a chat with paulsf and bar boys there . At 10 planned trip to Moonlight where I hoped muscular A will be available but no, Tuesday curse. There were more staff than customers , Bee my first off in December recognized me and was circling hoping for an off but I pushed 100 baht into his briefs and left it there. Only 3 models on duty , Smart, Babe and Tum but they were entertained by some customers so no chance even for an eye contact. To bar’s credit there was still; show and models parade for us, only handful of spectators. So no off tonight sighted I , picked up phone and lined V , yesterday’s short timer if he is risking long time tonight. “Yes” answer and smiling sticker came back in less than 5 seconds. Not much later, despite rain he showed up on he steps of Raya. First we went to “Beer Garden ‘ former ‘ Eden Garden’ or whatever name it had seafood restaurant right across former soi Twilight. There are two waitresses I know for years, both not only recognized me offering hug but one of them shocked me by saying ‘you always order chicken with cashew nuts”, even if last time we saw each other was in Oct 2019 and we are in May 2022 ! I was dining there in December but none of those two were there, they returned only in February. So I was duly shocked and pleasantly surprised. In several days they surprise me even more but that’s for another day. V is modest guy so no expensive seafood stuff, just some regular dish and both filled up we went to the room by back elevator as Raya is closing front door at midnight till 6. He was impressed with size of Executive room I had and I was impressed how clingy he still is. Solid and sweaty gymnastics both past midnight and in the morning. V never disappoints thought I falling asleep in his embraces ending day 2 of the trip.2 points

I live in a city with 3 strip clubs. It would take 10,000 baht to take someone home from here. If I could get them for 2500 I’d spend less time in Bangkok.2 points

Show at New Twilight was good. They made use of LED wall effectively. The same show found in other bars is now enhanced through technology. Pity the pillar in the middle otherwise there would be an unobstructed view. Two energetic dancers danced with lip synching ladyboy. She did Beyonce and Annie Lennox (one of my favourites!). They received shots and tips from many appreciative audience members including yours truly. Some of the guys also did a SM item complete with bondage gear and dog masks, tails and leashes. No hardcore acts like in Tawan. No nudity at all in fact! Last performance was 4 guys dancing coyote style. Gosh. I miss that so much that i tipped all 4 of them. My bottle was only half finished so i asked for it to be kept for tomorrow night. Waiter guy was ready and we went off. Thai 26 years old but looks younger. Back in hotel room, had pleasant surprise. He was a kisser! I felt so embarrassed that i had cigarette breath. Must make a note to get mouth rinse for tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow i am seeing waiter guy again. The only downer is no LT because he has 2 jobs. But ST with him is good enough for me.2 points

Day 1 Tittle sounds somewhat dramatic but I couldn’t think about something better reflecting that, my 22nd trip to Thailand so here we go. As soon as I recovered from jet lag after returning from my December trip I start plotting when my next one should be. Not only missing Thailand but also still not depleted travel fund made itching to go unbearable so I decided to go in May , in my circumstances meaning ASAP. Thailand Pass approval came in a day, I managed to secure quite good flight price with somewhat exotic connection through New Delhi with equally exotic arrival time at 5 a.m. On my way I had a bit of crisis sitting so long in the silver tube, after 8 hours realizing that it’s only mid-way that I started having doubts if it’s to long before I decide that those long flights are not for my anymore. At 5 in the morning Swampy was quite empty and since plane parked at very far end of terminal it was good 15 minutes walk to immigration allowing me to finally stretch my legs not to mention ventilate my digestive system after almost full day on the go. Since I travel light no waiting for the luggage, just purchase Thai SIM card and I was on my way to train station, managed even to check exchange rates in adjacent kiosks and find them this time disappointing so wisely as it turned out I decided to exchange money in my favorite spot XONE on Suriwong close to my first stop – Tarntawan. Historic moment for me – for a first time I took first train of the day out of Swampy and in 45 minutes or so I was marching toward hotel through already bustling part of Silom . I did not want any issues with early checking so took an advantage of their low rates and booked for day before asking them to keep the room as I will be arriving early in the morning. This way I could go straight to the room to shower and take short nap. Rested I went to world famous , UNESCO heritage , 7 ½ Michelin stars Foodland for a breakfast, exchanged money , made rounds through Silom sois and around 1 pm went around the corner to see if it’s really true that Tawan is offering massages during day. It was opened, sign posted ‘massage 500” and lonely guy named M sitting at the door. He lead me through now empty bar to a staircase , we climbed all the way to 4th floor to find few neat massage rooms. Massage was good , after about 1 hr I made some indecent but well received move and we went to stage 2 . Good start of the trip , promised to come later for the show, tip 1500 for 1.5 hr. session. Walked again length of Silom on both sides to see signs of gentrifications with shiny eateries and shops taking place of former ordinary ones. In the hotel I nap for a hour, than used Line to ask certain V, known to me from last trip if he can come for 2 hours of reunion . Answer come right away and soon he was knocking my door. He is not greedy but I , excited to be back in his embraces lavished 2000 tip on him , money well spent. At 8.30 pm to Hot Male downstairs in Patpong 2 to meet with paulsf and jimbill already conversing there. It’s a whole since I saw them both so we had some stuff to catch up but at 10.30 jimbill and I left , me quietly excited to see my first Tawan show in the new place. Tawan is by far friendlest bar in BKK, as soon as we showed up buys and mamasans rushed to shake our hands, few boys recognized me right away including Dam , whom I offed few times already and M, who massaged me few hours earlier. I was surprised to see that staff includes quite twinky guy with very attractive face My attention was on K, new guy , well under 30 y.o . with nice , symmetrical tattoos , no trace of hair and bulky muscles. When he noticed I’m staring at him intensely , he smiled broadly so I called him over for a drink and did not waste time asking if he goes with me (yes), if he does long time (yes) , if he kisses ( nit noi) i.e. my all liturgical questions finally to arrive to final one, how much you want. Answer was freezing 2500 ST , 5000 LT but I was not about to pass such opportunity for sake of spending 2000 more of what I think is fair Long Time rate. So I quietly gulped and asked him to dress and go. Not that we walked far to Tarntawan. It was great move on my part, money be damned and I couldn’t imagine better start to a trip than having such a hunk as my first night companion. Before day 1 finished we already agreed on noon trip to Mahanakhon tomorrow and mid-day visit in my room after that. So may day 1 finished in serious embraces , let me tell you.1 point

I arrived on a Sunday afternoon after being away for two years. Not many people at airport. Need to check Thai Pass before proceeding to immigration. Quick process. Just show Thai Pass QR code on my handphone and the lady scanned it and marked my arrival card. I saw some tourists who printed A4 coloured pages of their QR codes. Not necessary! At immigration area no long snaking queue to reach the immigration counters. About 20 counters open and only 2 or 3 people queueing at each counter. I went to a counter manned by a boyish looking immigration officer with a high crew cut and tight fitting uniform and admired him as he processed my passport! No queue at SIM card counter and taxi stand. Not many cars on highway and roads as well but I attribute it to Sunday afternoon traffic. The moment the taxi driver turned left into Surawong Road, I felt right at home. Passed by The Raya which I had stayed many times in the past but this time, I would be staying at Le Meridien. Gave the taxi driver 500 baht and told him to keep the change as a Le Meridien staff unloaded my luggage. Very efficient and friendly service with great hospitality. I was served a welcome drink of orange juice as I did check-in. I had opted for long term stay at Le Meridien which cost about 2200 baht per night. Clincher was the daily laundry service. Sorry, Raya! I collected my card key and was told to go to room first. My luggage would be sent up shortly. My deluxe room on 16th floor gave me a good view. Spacious room with bath tub and separate shower. The door bell rang and a young lanky porter brought in my luggage. Tipped him 100 baht and he went off happily.1 point

yes but on pain of being impolite - who is asking you ? It was me who paid that after all and I was with the guy so I can assess if fee is excessive or not knowing what I got in exchange . You can say is that it's a lot of money and it's easy to get some company for much less but qualify expense ? Not enough information I'd say. There are not many countries and probably none in the West where we can get 1st class guy for 5000 baht for the whole night, quick mutual blow job in toilet on platform 5 perhaps yes, but overnight? Nothing wrong with setting ceiling , like yours 3000, mine simply is 2000 more perhaps because guys I like are somewhat rarer on the market . That's price ceiling we put on our dreams I guess. But by setting such restriction we need to accept that we may be missing some really hot action with even hotter guys.1 point

Oops. I think i used the term wrongly. I should have written glass half full. Did you get a guy every night? Wow!1 point

so where we stop, are we supposed to live with restrictions , certificates and masks until last case of covid will be eliminated on Feb 23, 2037 ? I understand need for restrictions but it must be transparent and well known formula when we stop, no case at all, 1 case per million , or 3 per 10 millions, whatever. Yes they are people who don't care whether they make other sick or not but there's other end , people so scared they become paranoid. We can't be taken ransom by those either. Modern life has it's conveniences and with them risks mentioned above mulitiply but do we rally need to make every country North Korea or Pol Pot's Kampchea and isolate all from everybody ? is that even doable? What about achieving herd immunity? By vaccinations only if 1/3 of populace refuses even one dose like in USA ?1 point

Don’t fool yourself. China has its elite same as Thailand does, perhaps more so. If they’re connected, they travel, some to Thailand. But the 67% who are were treated with some of the most effective vaccines available. Forever testing is the route China is taking. Please feel free to join at your pleasure.1 point

Wow, this is very welcome, but quite surprising. I always thought that Southeast Asia was one of the strictest regions in the world when it came to drug consumption or possession! Hopefully, this becomes a catalyst for more Asian countries following suit, although that seems unlikely for now.1 point -

Bangkok Boy bars best days to go
Creditisdue reacted to numazu for a topic
Alrightey guys. I just concluded a multi-week Europe trip and now am planning my Thailand trip in earnest. I have multiple goals for the trip (both bar and boy reasons and life reasons), but it looks like I'd like to try Pattaya for ONE night and would like to know how recent trip goers have fared there. I was surprised to hear that a boy in my past (and some of you have met this boy) is still working at a bar there, and he has told me that things are more or less back to normal at his bar. That made me decide to at least devote one night there this trip. Some of you may have known this already. Another boy from my past is still working at Moonlight. Looks like time has stood still. So how is the bar landscape in Pattaya? I like boys, and bars with shows, so what's it like there now?1 point -
I recommend Freshboys. Out of 15 boys that I saw last night, about 5 are truly twinks.1 point

Pattaya First Timer Help
Tartegogo reacted to flashbarryallen for a topic
This board has been invaluable to me over the years on my trips to Bangkok, and now I'm ready to explore Pattaya for the first time. I definitely need help. So far I've settled on taking the airport bus from swampy to Jomtien, and then I'm stuck after that. From descriptions people have given, I imagine my "home" bar would end up being BBB as I tend to prefer Moonlight and Tawan when in BKK (though I know there won't really be Tawan types in Pattaya.) What are some recommended hotels that would make access to BBB easy for me and any gents I happen to off? I prefer no hassle from front desk. As far as price, I prefer mid range where I could maybe get a junior suite etc for the same price as a standard room in a more upscale place. I would like to avoid anywhere too sketchy, but also not necessary family friendly. For comparison, I'm a big fan of Raya Surawong in BKK Also, I'm kind of...pent up...after no BKK for a few years and really wouldn't mind to try a bar where naughtiness happens inside. Where do you suggest? Guys don't need to be the Tawan/Moonlight type in that case. Flirtatious and touchy would do the trick (though I think for me the only true turn off is long hair.) I've read about places from the past such as Golden Cock in BKK that I would have probably enjoyed and would like to know the best Pattaya equivalent. While I'm sure there's info on this scattered in previous threads, obviously things are different now. If it's helpful, I'm planning for two weeks in mid June. How would you split up the time between BKK and Pattaya?1 point -

I'm with you....though not about the punch in the mouth! I always needed a "come-on" from my chosen partner- a smile was invariably enough. I recall my second trip in '95; I stayed at Le Cafe Royal and there was a waiter for whom I had the hots. Remember those little white shorts and peach shirts? I knew he was married and kept my feelings to myself. On the day I left , I was waiting for my taxi and he was working. A falang arrived; his brief conversation amounted to when and where. The waiter told him. That's all it took. I wish I could say that I learnt my lesson. But I stayed exactly the same. To be honest, we are what we are. when it comes to this issue.1 point -
any time is good to go, as floridarob mentioned above December and also January have mildest weather and almost no rain any month seems to be good to go for one reason or other. Even in months of heaviest rain like Sept and Oct is nor raining cats and dogs for days but there are substantial but relatively short downpurs , usually in the afternoon. Yes it's sticky from Feb to Nov but that is what tropics are for - to hydrate dry farang skin. For draining your wallet any of 12 months is equally suitable1 point

Day 4 was set aside to reacquaint with a dancer guy whom I got to know 2 years ago in 2019 and we clicked well. He was a dancer at Lucky Boys. He's gay and has a twinky frame but he has put on muscles through gym so now his body is firm and hard. He says he finds it difficult to gain weight but I replied that his current weight and size is just right for his frame. "You have lost weight," he said to me, drawing a smile from me. With the closure of Lucky Boys, he no longer dances but works at a proper full time job. Wednesday is his off day so I arranged to meet him. I had always wanted to visit Fake Club but was afraid of going alone. Hence I asked dancer guy whom I shall call T if he could go with me and be translator. T said ok and that was the plan. I met T at hotel lobby, greeted and hugged him. I wanted to get a second room card key for him for him to use the pool or gym but he said not necessary. He would go wherever I went. A few minutes after he came into the hotel room, it started raining outside. So looks like we were stuck indoors for the afternoon. I filled up the bath tub and let T choose the bubble bath flavour. He chose lavender and the next hour or so we got reacquainted. Once the rain stopped, we headed out, had early dinner at a Japanese restaurant followed by massage at Prime massage. T took traditional Thai body massage. He asked for massage lady who could deliver strong and hard strokes. I went for less painful leg massage which was done by a guy. Both massages for 1.5 hours cost 400 baht each. While chatting about what each of us has been doing the past 2 years, we discovered that we binged on Netflix during the months when there was total lockdown and when most people had to stay indoors. We started talking about our favourite shows. We both loved the policeman brother in Squid Game because he was handsome. We discussed whether he died in the show. He was shot and fell from cliff into the ocean. "But they didn't show his body," T said. Yes, I agree! For all his fans, I hope he returns in Squid Game sequel. T and I realised that we had not watched the latest season of Stranger Things. I did a screen mirror of my tablet to the hotel TV and we lay in bed and started watching the first two episodes of season 4. After all, it was still early. We had planned to go to Fake Club at 10pm. However, after the cliffhanger at the end of the second episode, I turned to T, "How about we forget about Fake Club and let's just spend the whole night watching the entire season 4 of Stranger Things?" T agreed and I clicked to start the third episode. And so that was how the night went. Instead of partying at a club with loud music and drinks, we were a domesticated couple watching TV. At midnight, we went to Foodland Patpong for supper then came back to hotel room to continue watching Stranger Things. We called it a night at 2am with another two episodes of season 4 to go. I was up at 8am and felt T's morning wood next to me. I woke him for some light fun. After that, we went down for breakfast at hotel buffet. I had not booked a room package with breakfast so I would have to pay for any breakfast separately. Usual price 800 baht but I was given discounted price of 360 baht. Good value for money. We ate and surveyed the other hotel guests having breakfast. Most seemed to be here on business trips. Only some who are here on holiday. There were 2 Chinese guys eating together. Tall and gym fit. Eye candy for the eyes. "Singaporean?" T wondered. We then tooks turn walking past their table to get our food. Nope, from their American accent, either Taiwan or US. After breakfast, we went back to hotel room to continue watching Stranger Things. This time round, I could turn the volume of the TV up as unlikely to have other hotel guests in nearby rooms in morning. At 11am, T had to go off to report to work. We hugged and I thanked T. I was grateful and happy to have had the chance to experience what couples enjoy. No wild night but a simple quiet night of domestic bliss.1 point

Silom bars
forrestreid reacted to vinapu for a topic
models have their own presentation times when they are introduced by name, when presentation is over floor boys i.e. regular go-gos are rotating , recently by two, on the stage . Their names are not introduced , they wear numbers. If they don't it means they are not available for an off usually because they are already reserved Off fee for floor boys is 500 , for models 1000. Expected tip will be similarly differentiated, for short time floor boy may look for 2000-2500 , model 3000 all the way to 5000 waiters are not presenting themselves on the stage but are, like waiters everywhere circulating among customers fully dressed , delivering drinks and collecting payments.1 point -
Yes i agree that buying 1 drink and giving higher tip would be better for guy but it didn't occur to me then. Different off fees on different days? Something new for me. It's possible that mamasans inflate ST and LT tips for boys when communicating with new customers. But it doesn't matter to me. I doubt i will ever off anyone from the stage. There's only one guy for me from the bar. I am simply infatuated with him! Can't wait to kiss him later!1 point

Inside Tawan, there were 3 guys in white briefs with black dots. Leopard pattern. I would have prefered plain white but at least they are not in jeans. And their briefs are the bikini type which shows their dick shape clearly pointed down. All muscled guys but with many tattoos. Only one tall guy without tattoo and one boyish looking guy with only a small tattoo on his chest. He's the smallest size among all the guys hence vinapu called him a twink when he reported in Tawan forum topic. He's what i would call a twunk - a twink who works out in gym. But very offable. In fact, he would be offed by customer at end of show. Vinapu's dinner companion recognised and greeted me. I got him to sit with me. Excellent firm muscles but i told him no off as it was my first night and i wanted to take it slow. I bought him two drinks through the night and also tipped him. He was affectionate with me and gave me good strong massage. I think he would be an excellent LT. But he's not really my type. The show itself was entertaining - candle and wax performance by one guy, lip synching by 3 singers taking turns, one of whom was a ladyboy, SM themed act and simulated sex with 3 guys sucking another 3 guys but with condom. A group of 4 farang enjoyed themselves and were generously tipping. About 17 to 18 customers. About 10 to 12 muscle guys. To be truthful, i got the hots for one of the staff. He was buff and wore Hawaiian shirt. It was his black glasses that turned me on. Nerdy hottie! Mamasan was very friendly and helpful with questions. Show ended with big cock show by 3 guys. One of them let out a gush of creamy cum into the air. Spectacular! After that, final rotation for the night. Guys were naked to entice offs before midnight. I said goodbye to my newfound friend. I might go back if i fancy LT with him. Early days yet. Many more bars and guys to check out.1 point

Hey no problem glad to provide it. Definitely didn't have any concerns for safety in the area in the day or early evening before 830pm. On another note - I stayed at Hotel Gallery in the centro area. Through my research seamed to be the best hotel for a decent price. Clean and Modern and I can confirm they allow visitors with I.D check but will charge 30000 Col pesos if they stay overnight.1 point -

Curious what happened to the Russian invasion thread?
Pete1111 reacted to forrestreid for a topic
A Russian man’s view of Putin's propaganda. For several years I have been watching a YouTuber called NFKRZ. It is run by a young Russian guy called Roman, who used to post videos about daily life in Russia, including politics culture etc. With the outbreak of the war he, like a lot of other liberal minded Russians, has fled the country, in his case to Georgia. This week, he posted an interesting video looking at some of the left-wing propaganda outlets to Russia controls, and is using to spread its line about the Ukraine war. It is quite commonly known that Russia pumps out a lot of propaganda on Facebook and the RT News channel, usually praising Putin as a proper conservative and aimed at FOX News watching types. But they also control other, left-leaning websites, and that churn out propaganda that is meant to appeal to left wingers, usually focusing on perceived or real western hypocrisy. I kind of knew this already, but it was interesting to see it from the perspective of an anti-Putin Russian person. Watch below:1 point -
