Day 2 In the morning K was not hungry so went home and I went to world famous for a breakfast alone. After that I took my prescription and went to order new glasses. My current ones are also Bangkok natives and when I made them 6 years ago there was substantial difference between home and Thailand prices, less than half if I recall. Not so much now, another sign that LOS is moving up economically. Then booked dental appointment at Dr. Smile on Silom by Patpong and marched back to Tarntawan to pack and move to Raya. Their policy is to allow check in only after 3 pm although I doubt they are that full so I left luggage at reception and went to 7/11 on Suriwong around the corner from Tawan where I was supposed to meet K at noon for our Mahanakhon trip. Minute or two before noon I got ‘where you are ‘ message from him and indeed at noon on the dot he showed up. At K insistence we took taxi, laughable idea for such short distance but if he wanted , so be it. Actually I’m glad we did because shockingly it turned out driver took order but he doesn’t know where MahaNakhon is and we are taking highest building in Thailand with very distinctive shape. Past Chong Nonsi BTS he kept driving and driving until I intervened and he turned back. It must be something with that structure because here where I live I know personally guy who went there by BTS , disembarked as instructed by me at Chong Nonsi and still couldn’t find it even if Mahanahkon is practically atop of that station. Perhaps too close ? Anyways up we went and on approach to the famous glass I could see that my muscular guy is sweating extensively. Are you scared? ‘yes” . But to his credit he went there, allowed me to take few shots on his camera but no, he did not repeat my trick of laying face down on the glass. At least I could impress him. Fortunately he took all that stress well and was clearly happy with experience, when we visited impressive toilet with the view one floor down did not have problem of looking into chasm through the window. On the way to Raya we stepped at World famous for a lunch . In Raya room was already ready so we could start our scheduled massage session right away and no , it was not him who massaged me but other way around and I still paid him for a privilege, not that massage lasted whole 3 hrs. Great 3 hours. After he left heavy rain poured all of the sudden. I even expected he may be back but no he braved it to Tawan where his bike was parked he told me later. Jet lag and rain knocked me down and I collapsed on the bed till well past 8p.m. Woke up, showered and went to Hot Male downstairs for a chat with paulsf and bar boys there . At 10 planned trip to Moonlight where I hoped muscular A will be available but no, Tuesday curse. There were more staff than customers , Bee my first off in December recognized me and was circling hoping for an off but I pushed 100 baht into his briefs and left it there. Only 3 models on duty , Smart, Babe and Tum but they were entertained by some customers so no chance even for an eye contact. To bar’s credit there was still; show and models parade for us, only handful of spectators. So no off tonight sighted I , picked up phone and lined V , yesterday’s short timer if he is risking long time tonight. “Yes” answer and smiling sticker came back in less than 5 seconds. Not much later, despite rain he showed up on he steps of Raya. First we went to “Beer Garden ‘ former ‘ Eden Garden’ or whatever name it had seafood restaurant right across former soi Twilight. There are two waitresses I know for years, both not only recognized me offering hug but one of them shocked me by saying ‘you always order chicken with cashew nuts”, even if last time we saw each other was in Oct 2019 and we are in May 2022 ! I was dining there in December but none of those two were there, they returned only in February. So I was duly shocked and pleasantly surprised. In several days they surprise me even more but that’s for another day. V is modest guy so no expensive seafood stuff, just some regular dish and both filled up we went to the room by back elevator as Raya is closing front door at midnight till 6. He was impressed with size of Executive room I had and I was impressed how clingy he still is. Solid and sweaty gymnastics both past midnight and in the morning. V never disappoints thought I falling asleep in his embraces ending day 2 of the trip.16 points

Day 1 Tittle sounds somewhat dramatic but I couldn’t think about something better reflecting that, my 22nd trip to Thailand so here we go. As soon as I recovered from jet lag after returning from my December trip I start plotting when my next one should be. Not only missing Thailand but also still not depleted travel fund made itching to go unbearable so I decided to go in May , in my circumstances meaning ASAP. Thailand Pass approval came in a day, I managed to secure quite good flight price with somewhat exotic connection through New Delhi with equally exotic arrival time at 5 a.m. On my way I had a bit of crisis sitting so long in the silver tube, after 8 hours realizing that it’s only mid-way that I started having doubts if it’s to long before I decide that those long flights are not for my anymore. At 5 in the morning Swampy was quite empty and since plane parked at very far end of terminal it was good 15 minutes walk to immigration allowing me to finally stretch my legs not to mention ventilate my digestive system after almost full day on the go. Since I travel light no waiting for the luggage, just purchase Thai SIM card and I was on my way to train station, managed even to check exchange rates in adjacent kiosks and find them this time disappointing so wisely as it turned out I decided to exchange money in my favorite spot XONE on Suriwong close to my first stop – Tarntawan. Historic moment for me – for a first time I took first train of the day out of Swampy and in 45 minutes or so I was marching toward hotel through already bustling part of Silom . I did not want any issues with early checking so took an advantage of their low rates and booked for day before asking them to keep the room as I will be arriving early in the morning. This way I could go straight to the room to shower and take short nap. Rested I went to world famous , UNESCO heritage , 7 ½ Michelin stars Foodland for a breakfast, exchanged money , made rounds through Silom sois and around 1 pm went around the corner to see if it’s really true that Tawan is offering massages during day. It was opened, sign posted ‘massage 500” and lonely guy named M sitting at the door. He lead me through now empty bar to a staircase , we climbed all the way to 4th floor to find few neat massage rooms. Massage was good , after about 1 hr I made some indecent but well received move and we went to stage 2 . Good start of the trip , promised to come later for the show, tip 1500 for 1.5 hr. session. Walked again length of Silom on both sides to see signs of gentrifications with shiny eateries and shops taking place of former ordinary ones. In the hotel I nap for a hour, than used Line to ask certain V, known to me from last trip if he can come for 2 hours of reunion . Answer come right away and soon he was knocking my door. He is not greedy but I , excited to be back in his embraces lavished 2000 tip on him , money well spent. At 8.30 pm to Hot Male downstairs in Patpong 2 to meet with paulsf and jimbill already conversing there. It’s a whole since I saw them both so we had some stuff to catch up but at 10.30 jimbill and I left , me quietly excited to see my first Tawan show in the new place. Tawan is by far friendlest bar in BKK, as soon as we showed up buys and mamasans rushed to shake our hands, few boys recognized me right away including Dam , whom I offed few times already and M, who massaged me few hours earlier. I was surprised to see that staff includes quite twinky guy with very attractive face My attention was on K, new guy , well under 30 y.o . with nice , symmetrical tattoos , no trace of hair and bulky muscles. When he noticed I’m staring at him intensely , he smiled broadly so I called him over for a drink and did not waste time asking if he goes with me (yes), if he does long time (yes) , if he kisses ( nit noi) i.e. my all liturgical questions finally to arrive to final one, how much you want. Answer was freezing 2500 ST , 5000 LT but I was not about to pass such opportunity for sake of spending 2000 more of what I think is fair Long Time rate. So I quietly gulped and asked him to dress and go. Not that we walked far to Tarntawan. It was great move on my part, money be damned and I couldn’t imagine better start to a trip than having such a hunk as my first night companion. Before day 1 finished we already agreed on noon trip to Mahanakhon tomorrow and mid-day visit in my room after that. So may day 1 finished in serious embraces , let me tell you.6 points

Back in Bangkok after 2 years
fedssocr and 5 others reacted to macaroni21 for a topic
Thailand has three seasons. There is the "cool" season between December and February where the midday temperature is about 31 or 32 degrees and little rain. Then there's the hot dry season from March to May with daily maximums reaching 35 to 37 degrees. Humidity rises month by month till it gets quite uncomfortable in May. Not much rain. The monsoon arrives in June. This is warm rain coming down in buckets for about 1 or 2 hours a day, about 4 or 5 days each week. Often with thunder and lightning. Quite different from the gentler but more persistent rain seen in Europe. Between rainstorms, it tends to be hot ( max 33 or 34 degrees) and humid, but after it has rained, the rest of the day is cooler. Rainy days reach a peak in September. That month and October is also when Bangkok is most likely to flood. The amount of monsoon water coming down the Chao Praya river is huge. My observation is that the cool season tourism peak is largely a farang (westerner) phenomenon. Partly it's because, as others have said, the weather is the best of the three seasons, but I think an equally important driver is the fact that Europeans and Canadians are keen to escape their winters. Pre-covid, the mass migration of Russians each winter to the beaches of Thailand was impossible to miss. Asian tourists - and they are the majority of visitors that Thailand gets - are more used to higher humidity and tropical weather. I don't think there is much of a peak for them, with the possible exception of a trough in March and April when the daily maximums are too hot even for them. Most Asian countries also have monsoonal weather patterns, and rain is hardly a deterrent to them. They are used to it and know how to cope. Summers in Taiwan and Japan are not different from Thailand's monsoon season. Then there are the farang visitors who through experience have adapted to Thailand's temperatures and moisture levels, and they are quite happy to come in any season. Adaptation includes knowing what to wear for warm humid days: the lightest possible cotton t-shirts, shorts and sandals. Have a broad-brimmed hat if you want to avoid sunburn on the bald patch. Learn from the Asians and always walk in the shade, never in the sun if at all you can avoid it. In Europe the sun is your friend; in the tropics, the shade is your friend. Scoot into air-conditioned malls regularly to cool off and hydrate frequently. I don't think there is all that much difference between the conditions in Bangkok and the close-by beach towns. The main difference is that the beaches get a steady sea breeze which even in the hottest months, is very pleasant. But if one is not a beach aficionado and spend little time on the beach, then the built-up parts of the beach towns feel pretty similar to built-up Bangkok.6 points -
Readers of my reports will probably have formed the impression of me as a hopless romantic seeking intimicy and friendship. It's generally true because back in Singapore, I am discrete and am not in the gay scene. So when I am in Bangkok, I seek guys to talk to and hang out with. I have come to know several guys well over the past 5 years - P and T plus a Vietnam guy who went back to Ha Tinh and whom I have been giving financial support every month. I call him "kon nuoi" and he calls me "cha nuoi" - which means godson and godpa respectively. But sometimes lust takes over and this is what happened when I called a guy down from the stage at Freshboys. Mamasan came immediately to me with a worried look. "Lao boy. No speak English. Top." "It's ok," I replied. I just wanted to be fucked wildly tonight.5 points

Day 5. I made arrangement to meet fellow forum member at Soi 4 and we would go to Freshboys tonight. At 8.30pm I walked into Soi 4 looking for Circus. I had no idea that Telephone had changed its name to Circus. I saw forum member and as I walked to him, a waiter called out to me loudly and enthusiastically. "Hello! Remember me?" I turned around and saw that it was P, someone I have known since the days of Soi Twilight. He worked at old Freshboys at Soi Twilight and when Freshboys and X-Boys combined to form Lucky Boys at Patpong, he went over. He used to take part in shower and big cock shows. I was so delighted to see him again and hugged him. P is now a waiter at Circus. He has gained weight and his abs are gone due to drinking too much but he is still very handsome. We chatted awhile. I found out that his off day is Wednesday (which is same as my dancer guy and New Twilight twink waiter guy). Why are their off days on the same day! Dilemma for next Wednesday - who to meet. But for now, I was happy to know that P has a stable job currently. In fact, as I scanned the other waiters at Circus, I found most of them very handsome! Could they be former bar boys before Covid?5 points

I said goodbye to fellow forum member who went off for supper while I took Laos boy back to hotel. 22 years old. Straight. New. Only been in Bangkok for one month. I had to use Google Translate to communicate with him. Fortunately, I had bought a bottle of Jack Daniel from Duty Free shop at airport. Laos boy enjoys the drink and ice was broken. Sex was wonderful even though he didn't kiss. And so ended day 5.4 points

From Channel News Asia SINGAPORE: From Melbourne to Manchester, and from Toronto to Turin, many airports around the world are struggling to cope with the explosion in demand for air travel as COVID-19 restrictions ease. But passengers at several major airports have complained about snaking queues at check-in counters and immigration. With the summer season holiday crowd descending on countries in the northern hemisphere, aviation experts have warned that there may be more chaos at some airports. Here is where the crowds are building and how you can best cope with the inconveniences as you gear up to fly again. WHERE IS THIS HAPPENING? Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport has been grappling with overcrowding for weeks due to a shortage of security staff, according to Reuters reports. Last week, Dutch carrier KLM was forced to cancel dozens of flights into its hub, which is Europe’s third-busiest airport, in order to alleviate congestion there. With the summer season holiday crowd descending on countries in the northern hemisphere, aviation experts have warned that there may be more chaos at some airports. Last week, Dutch carrier KLM was forced to cancel dozens of flights into its hub, which is Europe’s third-busiest airport, in order to alleviate congestion there. On Tuesday (Jun 7), Spain announced the hiring of 500 additional police to staff passport control at busy airports and tourist destinations around the country including in Madrid. Spain's interior minister attributed reports of congestion at airports to multiple flights arriving at the same time. On Wednesday, British Airways, easyJet and Ryanair cancelled flights between Italy and the United Kingdom as a result of air traffic controller strikes at a number of Italian airports, the Liverpool Echo reported. On Wednesday evening, German flag carrier Lufthansa and its subsidiary Eurowings said they were cancelling more than 1,000 flights in July, or 5 per cent of their planned weekend capacity, due to staff shortages. The company said in a statement that it had seen a jump in demand as the pandemic has eased, which "after the most severe crisis in aviation is good news". However, it added that the infrastructure has not fully recovered, leading to "bottlenecks and staff shortages" in Europe, hitting airports, ground services, air traffic control and airlines. On Thursday, strikes at Paris' main Charles de Gaulle Airport led to a quarter of flights being grounded, with runways closed and passengers delayed. Around 100 flights were scrapped in total after workers went on strike to demand higher wages. At Dublin Airport, there were massive queues and a suspension of new bookings for a VIP service, reported news website Independent.ie this week. Similar scenes of snaking queues at bag drops and at airside security were also seen last week at London's Heathrow Airport, reported ITV News. Although airports in the United States have largely avoided the heavy congestion seen in Europe, a staffing crunch has forced airlines to cancel flights and cut down their summer schedules. Alaska Air Group had to cancel 4 per cent of its flights last month because of staffing issues, while Delta Air Lines, which cancelled about 700 flights over the four-day Memorial Day holiday at the end of May, plans to cut flights through August, Reuters reported. Canada's busiest airport, the Toronto Pearson International Airport, is allowing some of its staff who have yet to obtain their badges to work temporarily under supervision by vetted employees, said Tori Gass, a spokeswoman for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. The temporary pass is in response to the large volume of appointments for restricted area identity cards, Gass said. It takes roughly 45 days to get the cards. Pearson is struggling to cope with planes stuck at gates and hours-long security lines due to staffing shortages.3 points

Before Covid, Freshboys was in my top 3 bars (the others being Lucky Boys and Screwboys). I am happy to report that Freshboys remains the same as before. Lots of boys (about 15 to 16) of all types. All nationalities available. However, all in jeans. No parading in underwear. So have to rely on looking at their charming faces and fit bare bodies. No. 1 and No. 8 stood out for me for being extremely handsome. I also looked at the waiters and found them very handsome as well! Show started at 10.15pm which is earlier than expected. I believe once there's around 10 customers, they will start show. Fellow forum member and I were given front seats. First act was ladyboy lip synching. Only one ladyboy in the bar and she does 3 perfomances. "She's the in-house ladyboy," said fellow forum member which made me laugh. Such a pity that there's no trained dancers to accompany her on stage. There's coyote dancing by 5 of the floor boys but some of them are just not natural dancers. Other acts in the show included a solo jerk off, a SM routine between in-house ladyboy as a domimatrix and a guy in SM gear, big cock show with cock hitting metal poles (4 guys) and fucking show by 2 guys. I tipped most of the performers. Show ended at 11.30pm. Floor guys came back on stage. I had lost track of the time. "Are we still going to Moonlight?" I asked fellow forum member. Before covid, bars had two shows at 10plus and midnight but now bars close at midnight. Pointless to go to Moonlight with only half an hour left. So decision made to remain at Freshboys. Now to decide whether to off a guy.3 points

I had a great time chatting and interacting with fellow forum member. We shared experiences and information. "You should really go to Pattaya," he said since I like twinks. Actually, I am not sure myself. While I like twinks, I have also offed musclemen and average guys in the past. I told fellow forum member that I will go to Pattaya one day. Tonight, we planned to go to Freshboys and then Moonlight. After paying for the bill, I looked for P. I said goodbye to him and slipped him a 1000-baht note.3 points

It seems not to have been noticed by posters that earlier this week the Thai Cabinet gave its approval to a Same Sex Civil Partnership Bill. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2322310/same-sex-partnership-bill-gets-nod A Civil Partnership Bill has been discussed in Cabinet over the last 10 years and thing has happened. Clearly there will be lots of hurdles before the Bill can become law. This is especially true given Thai society's conservatism. As Nikkei Asia points out, on the day of the Cabinet decision https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Society/Thailand-s-historic-LGBT-bill-exposes-rifts-inside-community The Nikkei article adds there is a "strong rift" between certain groups within the LGBT community.3 points

US to drop Covid testing requirements for international air travel
floridarob and one other reacted to reader for a topic
From CNBC The Biden administration is dropping Covid-19 testing requirements for inbound air travelers from abroad, the White House said Friday. Airlines and other travel industry members had repeatedly pushed the administration for months to drop the requirement, arguing it was hurting international travel demand. The rule, established by the Trump administration and later tightened by the Biden administration, required inbound travelers, including U.S. citizens, to show proof of a negative Covid test before boarding U.S.-bound flights.2 points -

Second visits a year or so later, i managed to break the ice, with the help of a host bar boy, who also agree with me that the guy is hot lol. He volunteer to be my wingman, since the guy i have hots for are from the same country as he is. Long story short, we managed to bring him to dinner and gogo bar visits lol. After that, i also arrange a movie night, this time only two of us. But it was still very innocent, and i really dont know how to move further hahaha. I'm not too sure about the situation at my local airport in Perth but in the eastern states they are really under the pump with long queues. Also in Australia so many people let their passports expire over the last 2 years (about two million passports expired) and have now all rushed in to get new passports, so many that there is a lengthy delay in issuing passports, not very bright of them for letting their passports expire as some have already booked trips and are needing passports in a hurry🙃2 points -

You can locate prospective short timers by a much more basic—and less expensive—method than apps and bars. If walking in and around the Silom-Surawong area, don’t be shy about directing a smile in direction of young man who catches your fancy. Don’t be surprised if you get a smile, or even head turn in response. Many pedestrians who populate this area, especially in the evening, are likely on same business as you. Even if just sitting at bar on Patpong, scan the passing faces of solo young men. And don’t forget that waiters and bartenders are offable as well as those performers you’ll find upstairs. And on any given evening, the staff from Dreamboy hang around outside bar, hoping for just such an event.2 points

There's host bar Pickety (name ? ) opposide BBB where Oscars used to be , Panorama also opened Scandic massage was opened throughout covid , Paradise in the same soi ABomb is back in business. In short , news about Pattaya boy scene death are greatly exaggerated , rebounded nicely Numazu if you are really going to Pattaya for just one day, stay in Copa or Classrooms and do Grand tour of 4 Boyztown bars , you will find somebody for sure1 point

Numerous massage parlours operating. At least 3 or 4 bars with shows. JC highly recommended. Are you really going there for one night??1 point

in short, it looks there's no prescription how to tackle the issue and approach needs to be done on individual basis observing reaction for every step, but chasing can be fun. We should not assume that everybody is for sale but also understand that Thai's approach to sex is much less uptight and for right money or even just for fun options may be there. Years ago at Raya it was actually employee in the breakfast room who seemed interested in me seeing me breakfasting with different guys daily , we exchanged smiles and winks but when I finally braved to ask him if we can meet together, he said, 'no, I'm just jocking" , so he played me that time for a change1 point

There's one straight half american college student before from one of the most expensive colleges back in Manila who agreed to do it for 18,000 pesos (around 12000 THB). I recall my second trip in '95; I stayed at Le Cafe Royal and there was a waiter for whom I had the hots. Remember those little white shorts and peach shirts? I knew he was married and kept my feelings to myself. On the day I left , I was waiting for my taxi and he was working. A falang arrived; his brief conversation amounted to when and where. The waiter told him. That's all it took. I wish I could say that I learnt my lesson. But I stayed exactly the same. To be honest, we are what we are. when it comes to this issue.1 point -

My memory is a bit fogged due to Singha beer but as I recall: The ground floor premises was originally a Tapas. Welcome bar (next to Telephone and rented from Balcony) then, or later, rented the upstairs room and opened it as a small gogo bar, named Banana Room. It also had ladyboy shows but they weren't happy because the low ceiling spoiled their headdresses. At some stage Tapas became Banana Bar. The upstairs was Banana Room Club (still to this day owned by the owner of the now defunct Welcome bar). I never found out if Banana was connected to Twilight Banana. For a long time the downstairs was being renovated, then lockdown. At some time during the last two years, upstairs operated as a 'restaurant' where people could sing along . Recently, another renovation downstairs and a bright new terrace and name 'Banana Room'. I can't comment on the activities as I haven't ventured in. Tomorrow maybe. Sorry if some of my sequence of events is a bit confused. Please correct where appropriate.1 point

Day 4 was set aside to reacquaint with a dancer guy whom I got to know 2 years ago in 2019 and we clicked well. He was a dancer at Lucky Boys. He's gay and has a twinky frame but he has put on muscles through gym so now his body is firm and hard. He says he finds it difficult to gain weight but I replied that his current weight and size is just right for his frame. "You have lost weight," he said to me, drawing a smile from me. With the closure of Lucky Boys, he no longer dances but works at a proper full time job. Wednesday is his off day so I arranged to meet him. I had always wanted to visit Fake Club but was afraid of going alone. Hence I asked dancer guy whom I shall call T if he could go with me and be translator. T said ok and that was the plan. I met T at hotel lobby, greeted and hugged him. I wanted to get a second room card key for him for him to use the pool or gym but he said not necessary. He would go wherever I went. A few minutes after he came into the hotel room, it started raining outside. So looks like we were stuck indoors for the afternoon. I filled up the bath tub and let T choose the bubble bath flavour. He chose lavender and the next hour or so we got reacquainted. Once the rain stopped, we headed out, had early dinner at a Japanese restaurant followed by massage at Prime massage. T took traditional Thai body massage. He asked for massage lady who could deliver strong and hard strokes. I went for less painful leg massage which was done by a guy. Both massages for 1.5 hours cost 400 baht each. While chatting about what each of us has been doing the past 2 years, we discovered that we binged on Netflix during the months when there was total lockdown and when most people had to stay indoors. We started talking about our favourite shows. We both loved the policeman brother in Squid Game because he was handsome. We discussed whether he died in the show. He was shot and fell from cliff into the ocean. "But they didn't show his body," T said. Yes, I agree! For all his fans, I hope he returns in Squid Game sequel. T and I realised that we had not watched the latest season of Stranger Things. I did a screen mirror of my tablet to the hotel TV and we lay in bed and started watching the first two episodes of season 4. After all, it was still early. We had planned to go to Fake Club at 10pm. However, after the cliffhanger at the end of the second episode, I turned to T, "How about we forget about Fake Club and let's just spend the whole night watching the entire season 4 of Stranger Things?" T agreed and I clicked to start the third episode. And so that was how the night went. Instead of partying at a club with loud music and drinks, we were a domesticated couple watching TV. At midnight, we went to Foodland Patpong for supper then came back to hotel room to continue watching Stranger Things. We called it a night at 2am with another two episodes of season 4 to go. I was up at 8am and felt T's morning wood next to me. I woke him for some light fun. After that, we went down for breakfast at hotel buffet. I had not booked a room package with breakfast so I would have to pay for any breakfast separately. Usual price 800 baht but I was given discounted price of 360 baht. Good value for money. We ate and surveyed the other hotel guests having breakfast. Most seemed to be here on business trips. Only some who are here on holiday. There were 2 Chinese guys eating together. Tall and gym fit. Eye candy for the eyes. "Singaporean?" T wondered. We then tooks turn walking past their table to get our food. Nope, from their American accent, either Taiwan or US. After breakfast, we went back to hotel room to continue watching Stranger Things. This time round, I could turn the volume of the TV up as unlikely to have other hotel guests in nearby rooms in morning. At 11am, T had to go off to report to work. We hugged and I thanked T. I was grateful and happy to have had the chance to experience what couples enjoy. No wild night but a simple quiet night of domestic bliss.1 point
