  1. Day 1 Tittle sounds somewhat dramatic but I couldn’t think about something better reflecting that, my 22nd trip to Thailand so here we go. As soon as I recovered from jet lag after returning from my December trip I start plotting when my next one should be. Not only missing Thailand but also still not depleted travel fund made itching to go unbearable so I decided to go in May , in my circumstances meaning ASAP. Thailand Pass approval came in a day, I managed to secure quite good flight price with somewhat exotic connection through New Delhi with equally exotic arrival time at 5 a.m. On my way I had a bit of crisis sitting so long in the silver tube, after 8 hours realizing that it’s only mid-way that I started having doubts if it’s to long before I decide that those long flights are not for my anymore. At 5 in the morning Swampy was quite empty and since plane parked at very far end of terminal it was good 15 minutes walk to immigration allowing me to finally stretch my legs not to mention ventilate my digestive system after almost full day on the go. Since I travel light no waiting for the luggage, just purchase Thai SIM card and I was on my way to train station, managed even to check exchange rates in adjacent kiosks and find them this time disappointing so wisely as it turned out I decided to exchange money in my favorite spot XONE on Suriwong close to my first stop – Tarntawan. Historic moment for me – for a first time I took first train of the day out of Swampy and in 45 minutes or so I was marching toward hotel through already bustling part of Silom . I did not want any issues with early checking so took an advantage of their low rates and booked for day before asking them to keep the room as I will be arriving early in the morning. This way I could go straight to the room to shower and take short nap. Rested I went to world famous , UNESCO heritage , 7 ½ Michelin stars Foodland for a breakfast, exchanged money , made rounds through Silom sois and around 1 pm went around the corner to see if it’s really true that Tawan is offering massages during day. It was opened, sign posted ‘massage 500” and lonely guy named M sitting at the door. He lead me through now empty bar to a staircase , we climbed all the way to 4th floor to find few neat massage rooms. Massage was good , after about 1 hr I made some indecent but well received move and we went to stage 2 . Good start of the trip , promised to come later for the show, tip 1500 for 1.5 hr. session. Walked again length of Silom on both sides to see signs of gentrifications with shiny eateries and shops taking place of former ordinary ones. In the hotel I nap for a hour, than used Line to ask certain V, known to me from last trip if he can come for 2 hours of reunion . Answer come right away and soon he was knocking my door. He is not greedy but I , excited to be back in his embraces lavished 2000 tip on him , money well spent. At 8.30 pm to Hot Male downstairs in Patpong 2 to meet with paulsf and jimbill already conversing there. It’s a whole since I saw them both so we had some stuff to catch up but at 10.30 jimbill and I left , me quietly excited to see my first Tawan show in the new place. Tawan is by far friendlest bar in BKK, as soon as we showed up buys and mamasans rushed to shake our hands, few boys recognized me right away including Dam , whom I offed few times already and M, who massaged me few hours earlier. I was surprised to see that staff includes quite twinky guy with very attractive face My attention was on K, new guy , well under 30 y.o . with nice , symmetrical tattoos , no trace of hair and bulky muscles. When he noticed I’m staring at him intensely , he smiled broadly so I called him over for a drink and did not waste time asking if he goes with me (yes), if he does long time (yes) , if he kisses ( nit noi) i.e. my all liturgical questions finally to arrive to final one, how much you want. Answer was freezing 2500 ST , 5000 LT but I was not about to pass such opportunity for sake of spending 2000 more of what I think is fair Long Time rate. So I quietly gulped and asked him to dress and go. Not that we walked far to Tarntawan. It was great move on my part, money be damned and I couldn’t imagine better start to a trip than having such a hunk as my first night companion. Before day 1 finished we already agreed on noon trip to Mahanakhon tomorrow and mid-day visit in my room after that. So may day 1 finished in serious embraces , let me tell you.

  2. Day 4 was set aside to reacquaint with a dancer guy whom I got to know 2 years ago in 2019 and we clicked well. He was a dancer at Lucky Boys. He's gay and has a twinky frame but he has put on muscles through gym so now his body is firm and hard. He says he finds it difficult to gain weight but I replied that his current weight and size is just right for his frame. "You have lost weight," he said to me, drawing a smile from me. With the closure of Lucky Boys, he no longer dances but works at a proper full time job. Wednesday is his off day so I arranged to meet him. I had always wanted to visit Fake Club but was afraid of going alone. Hence I asked dancer guy whom I shall call T if he could go with me and be translator. T said ok and that was the plan. I met T at hotel lobby, greeted and hugged him. I wanted to get a second room card key for him for him to use the pool or gym but he said not necessary. He would go wherever I went. A few minutes after he came into the hotel room, it started raining outside. So looks like we were stuck indoors for the afternoon. I filled up the bath tub and let T choose the bubble bath flavour. He chose lavender and the next hour or so we got reacquainted. Once the rain stopped, we headed out, had early dinner at a Japanese restaurant followed by massage at Prime massage. T took traditional Thai body massage. He asked for massage lady who could deliver strong and hard strokes. I went for less painful leg massage which was done by a guy. Both massages for 1.5 hours cost 400 baht each. While chatting about what each of us has been doing the past 2 years, we discovered that we binged on Netflix during the months when there was total lockdown and when most people had to stay indoors. We started talking about our favourite shows. We both loved the policeman brother in Squid Game because he was handsome. We discussed whether he died in the show. He was shot and fell from cliff into the ocean. "But they didn't show his body," T said. Yes, I agree! For all his fans, I hope he returns in Squid Game sequel. T and I realised that we had not watched the latest season of Stranger Things. I did a screen mirror of my tablet to the hotel TV and we lay in bed and started watching the first two episodes of season 4. After all, it was still early. We had planned to go to Fake Club at 10pm. However, after the cliffhanger at the end of the second episode, I turned to T, "How about we forget about Fake Club and let's just spend the whole night watching the entire season 4 of Stranger Things?" T agreed and I clicked to start the third episode. And so that was how the night went. Instead of partying at a club with loud music and drinks, we were a domesticated couple watching TV. At midnight, we went to Foodland Patpong for supper then came back to hotel room to continue watching Stranger Things. We called it a night at 2am with another two episodes of season 4 to go. I was up at 8am and felt T's morning wood next to me. I woke him for some light fun. After that, we went down for breakfast at hotel buffet. I had not booked a room package with breakfast so I would have to pay for any breakfast separately. Usual price 800 baht but I was given discounted price of 360 baht. Good value for money. We ate and surveyed the other hotel guests having breakfast. Most seemed to be here on business trips. Only some who are here on holiday. There were 2 Chinese guys eating together. Tall and gym fit. Eye candy for the eyes. "Singaporean?" T wondered. We then tooks turn walking past their table to get our food. Nope, from their American accent, either Taiwan or US. After breakfast, we went back to hotel room to continue watching Stranger Things. This time round, I could turn the volume of the TV up as unlikely to have other hotel guests in nearby rooms in morning. At 11am, T had to go off to report to work. We hugged and I thanked T. I was grateful and happy to have had the chance to experience what couples enjoy. No wild night but a simple quiet night of domestic bliss.

So I've just started my cruising for straight guys last Sunday.. Project # 1 is a straight street vendor whom I always see whenever I play sports every Wednesday Saturday and Sunday. He is a bit lanky but with some traces of muscles. Pointed nose. He always caught my eye whenever I passed by his kiosk and I remember him smiling at me once when I passed by. I am about 95% sure that he is straight. Last Sunday, I decided to make my first move. I ordered what he is selling with my basic thai. My Thai is super limited but I still tried to make some small talk and ask him if its spicy or if it has pork or chicken, etc. He then said that it is a Myanmar food and that most of his customers are Burmese and that he is Burmese too. Whole time he was just smiling probably laughing at my Thai deep inside.. What he is selling is like a coleslaw without mayonaise but with peanuts in it. I said to him that I will eat it at home. I tried it at home but was not a fan of it. Yesternight, I saw him around 22:00pm. He was already packing up. My mistake was that I ordered Bolt Bike so I was not going to be able to pass by his kiosk. I was going to stand beside his kiosk and wait for the Bolt Bike there but I didnt want to give him any idea that I am into him just yet. Next plan is to order more from him again this Saturday and tell him I liked it and that it is delicious. Then on Sunday, I will order again and will tell him to keep the change as a tip. Food he is selling is just 20 THB so I am planning to give him 100 and order two so that he can keep the 60 THB change. I wanna keep it subtle first. Then on Wednesday when I see him again packing up at night.. I will try to ask him if he can deliver to my house so that I can get his Line.. My primary goal is to get him on bed but I wanna take it slow and enjoy the ride haha.. I will keep you guys updated over the weekend if you guys are interested

  4. This club has finally posted a video to give us a peek inside, which perfectly matches up with what @jason1975has said...energetic dancers, impressive LED TV backdrop, but a giant pillar that obstructs the view. Still, this was exactly what I needed to see to get my interest..aroused..to visit this place. Video link

It still has a few twinkies now but they did change the interior. Only one main floor with something that looks like an attic. So customers sit downstairs where the stage is and boys and performers walk to stage from the attic. No, it was there even before Covid. But it has two layers (just like Hotmale): outside, you can buy drinks and sit, watching the soi traffic (good spot as it's located near the soi entrance). Inside, there is a full-scaled go-go bar with shows and boys in underwear. Mamasan told me they had about 15 boys in total. Two boys were offed during my time there.

My memory is a bit fogged due to Singha beer but as I recall: The ground floor premises was originally a Tapas. Welcome bar (next to Telephone and rented from Balcony) then, or later, rented the upstairs room and opened it as a small gogo bar, named Banana Room. It also had ladyboy shows but they weren't happy because the low ceiling spoiled their headdresses. At some stage Tapas became Banana Bar. The upstairs was Banana Room Club (still to this day owned by the owner of the now defunct Welcome bar). I never found out if Banana was connected to Twilight Banana. For a long time the downstairs was being renovated, then lockdown. At some time during the last two years, upstairs operated as a 'restaurant' where people could sing along . Recently, another renovation downstairs and a bright new terrace and name 'Banana Room'. I can't comment on the activities as I haven't ventured in. Tomorrow maybe. Sorry if some of my sequence of events is a bit confused. Please correct where appropriate.

  11. From Bangkok Post The 300-baht tourism fee faces a delay in implementation, beginning in the fourth quarter at the earliest, while the cancellation of Thailand Pass is expected from July 1, according to the Tourism and Sports Ministry. The ministry also plans to propose on June 17 the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) terminate Thailand Pass registration for international visitors from July 1. “Fee collection for tourists arriving by land requires further study, such as determining if the fee amount should be less than 300 baht because the average length of stay for these visitors is only 1-2 nights," said Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Tourism and Sports Minister.“ "Eliminating the Thailand Pass system means tourists don't have to buy travel insurance anymore, which should help make travel more convenient," he said.

  12. I think worldwide inflation is already taking its took on the long haul travel market. Carriers are beginning to acknowledge that fare increases are having negative effect on bookings 2-4 months out. They’re finding just how much the consumer is willing to pay, especially for premium seats. This creates a cash flow problem in the near term. Airlines are caught in an ever tightening bind due to rapidly rising fuel prices. In the past they relied on hedging but that runs the risk of committing to higher prices now without knowing if world events might result in change in fuel costs going forward. From the customer point a view, there appears to be a window of opportunity to find promotional fares now for travel in the fall.

  13. Do not use Agoda to book The Agate. They charge £37 which is 1591 Baht. I have just booked a room direct with them by email for 1000 Baht per night. A big difference!

Well in 2 weeks I'm heading off to Thailand, Phillipines & maybe Jakarta , I'm so excited, it's been 2 nearly 3 years of non travel for me. At 59yo I try to keep myself fit by lifting weights most days of the week and this has benefits in meeting younger guys on apps (for free) in my own city here in Australia who are looking for older mature guys although 99% are bottom looking for Top Daddy types in which I'm not , Unfortunately I'm a bottom 🍑and my fetish is straight acting top Asian guys . This trip my bucket list plan is 1. Meeting moneyboy guys in bars, apps etc , and paying for their services 2. Trying to meet non money boy (straight) guys , waiters, bellboys, guys in gym etc , and willing to pay them, I guess you call it gayy4pay , they must be straight acting tops or not usually gay or never had gay sex 3. Hooking up with Bisexual / gay guys for free eg at Saunas ,or the apps who are non moneyboys and looking for free action. Eg Saunas, apps ,cruising areas, I'm willing to make some exceptions and try out more mature aged guys in this category if they are tops My questions are particularly in Bangkok , where are the " cruising" areas particularly to meet guys in category 3 who are bisexual looking for no money fun . Any "cruising" areas in Pattaya ? I will see how I go in terms of my bucket list categories . Of course it's a lot easier ( and has benefits) just to pay for a service and see a moneyboy than go on the hunt for guys looking for sex for no money involved but this trip I want to try all angles ( in more ways than one) Last trip to Bangkok which seems many moons ago now , I met several free guys , one middle-aged middle Eastern guy from Dubai (Grindr) who was staying in Bangkok with his wife in a nearby upmarket hotel.

  17. Z 909 is right. Use Bolt Taxis (cars not motor bikes). For those not in the know it is a new version of Uber. I used them many times to travel all over the area and from my condo (near Sunne) to Jomtien was 60 baht. The same price as a motor bike taxi. Agreed it may rise. Car always arrived within 2 or 3 minutes and of course is door to door, unlike baht buses.

I was at GSM sauna once when the towels caught fire in the dryer. The staff were busy pulling them out onto the floor and into the corridor . The corridor lead to the locker room (one way in and out). Luckily it was extinguished fairly quickly. Some years later a fire did occur in the building claiming one sauna patron. https://www.fridae.asia/gay-news/2009/01/06/2186.fire-in-bangkok-gay-sauna-kills-patron

Probably even has some formal training in dancing the way he moves and pirouettes. Just wonder if we have a chance to off a performer from a show? Anybody here tried it?

    Monkeypox

Here is an initial MPOXX daily global tracker. For specific nations click on the blue typeface link in the far right column. What is unusual in many places is the scattered seemingly isolated distribution of cases over large geographical areas for countries with low incidence so far, often with no clear risk vector or travel history. https://bnonews.com/monkeypox/ My next upcoming trip is Brazil. Thus far, of the handful of cases reported, none in São Paulo or Rio. Glad I got my two Springtime European trips out of the way. Europe seems to be the main prevalence source from which global cases are radiating.

  40. Just talking to my Filipino boyfriend today and we plan to meet late this month after my visit to Thailand. He was talking about homophobia in the Phillipines etc and it made me remember the time in Pattaya where I came across "homophobic guys in a restaurant in the soi bukhao area ,two men and a lady farang all drunk of course decided to move away from our table citing description profanities , I didn't even get into a conversation with them, but peculiarly they chose the table right next to ours despite their being umpteen tables to choose from,it didn't concern me as the Thai boy I was with didn't understand a word they said ,he was completely oblivious to it 😆 That was like 2009? 2008 So times have changed Have you ever experienced this ? As far as i remember it was once only in 20 years of coming to Thailand I have never been to the Phillipines and don't plan on holding hands or anything as I said to my Filipino friend. I think times are changing and young people nowadays are much much more tolerant and educated about gay people . Schools are teaching about transgender & gay partners etc and I think it's great , I think the only times you need to be wary of is straight guys our age who are not brought up to accept gay people. The younger farang are much more accepting and with tiktok etc there is much more awareness , but people our age 50ish ..60ish etc are still held back in time And I think another thing too, if your a older man with a younger partner I think people still think that is strange, particularly if your partner is say 30 years younger than you . I was reading the comment section of a tiktok video a older gay man in his late 50's with a Filipino boy in his 20's , unfortunately some of the comment especially from middle-aged females were horrendous describing the Farang guy as you know what that starts with P.

    Karaoke/Host Bars

Like others have advised, you should be tipping them for the opportunity even if they are agreeable to being groped. I would also wonder if, these being karaoke type bars rather than gogo bars, there is more resistance to being seen by their mates as the one being groped. Many of them may be straight, and even in such environments, have all sorts of macho hang-ups. Perhaps the best thing to do is to off the chosen guy anyway and then in the comfort and privacy of your room satisfy your hands. Nothing says that offing must necessarily lead to full blown sex. Naturally, the boy should be compensated with a rate similar to any other off.

The 380 is filling the seats with Euro-bound and Asian bound travelers. As others have pointed out, Singapore has positioned itself ideally to provide efficient point-to-point and conventional routing through passenger rich heart of Europe. And it’s completive pricing in all classes is filling the seats. My mid-day arrival was swift and efficient. With no checked luggage, I made it from sky bridge to City Line train in about 20 minutes, most of it a welcome stroll through the sorely missed familiarity of Swampy (and I say that with affection). The ride up the escalator at Silom was a near emotional experience after a 26-month period of deprivation.
