Just back from a couple of weeks in Pattaya over Songkran (or what passed for Songkran yet again). More open, and for longer than in January, and lots of fun to be had. Jomtien Complex is the busiest and most visible gay area and regularly patrolled and visited by police to ensure compliance with the current regulations, similarly BoyzTown although less open here. Sunee is very quiet and the few bars there linger on, but is still my favourite location. Winner Boys is open outside, with six or more of the regular twink boys sitting outside at tables, happy to chat, flirt and go off with you if you want. Nice Boys sits in virtual darkness along a dark stretch of Soi with only boss Beer sitting outside. At first sight you might think it closed, but inside, the straight boys, as many as ten of them on one visit, anxious to do what they do best to 'entertain' you haha. The whole location of Sunee is more discrete and less likely to get police interest. Aside from that, the Thai night clubs, Dragon (G-Star) and of course Sinlapin Isan, thrive and are open until around 1.30 to 2 am. Sinlapin was packed almost every night I went there. And when that finally closes, the karaoke bars are still open until 3 or 4am or later. Version was generally busy, and at my favourite, Friendly, we were usually fighting to get even the smallest table space, and with twenty or thirty 'host boys' available to be called down. So yes, go, go, go! There is plenty of fun and boys to be found in Pattaya; you will have a great time!5 points

That is an excellent point. I think it is a good idea to start the browsing two weeks to a month before arriving in Thailand. That way, whether the boy is online or not he will receive your message and probably start responding. I would also advise - no matter how cute and charming he may seem - do not make any commitments in advance of meeting him personally - and be very wary even then. Some of these boys excel at getting farang to think they've found the lifelong boy of their dreams. WRONG! Don't limit yourself. I would get his contact information and tell him you'll contact him when you're in town. Here is just one example of what I mean - and there are many, many more. Some of you may remember Crabby and Thomas's Corner Bar in Sunee Plaza. You might also remember their ladyboy manager. She actually had two farang boyfriends who thought she was the only one for them and they were the only one for her. Neither farang knew about the other, but financially supported her. Then her worst nightmare happened. They both unexpectedly showed up in Pattaya at the same time and were here for two weeks. I don't know how in the world she did it, but she somehow managed to juggle things and the two weeks passed without either of them knowing anything about the other or even becoming suspicious. After they left they both continued supporting her. She disappeared even before Corner Bar closed and I have not seen or heard anything about her since. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if those two farang are still supporting her, knowing nothing about the other. Another example. It's been at least 20 years by now, but I remember a boy who used to walk around with not one - not two - not three - but 5 mobile phones. Why? Because he had 5 different farang supporting him and none of them had any idea about the others. And when it's time to leave Thailand make no promises, especially no promises about money. I would thank him for a wonderful time, give him a generous tip, and tell him you hope to see him next time you come. That's it. Nothing more than that. In most cases I've seen over the years, the average is about two weeks after you return home before the pleas for money start coming. Be very careful. Believe me, no matter how much you give them, it's never enough.5 points

Unlike some previous posters I am definitely of the 'glass half full' persuasion. I was in Pattaya for New Year and again last week. I have to tell you that the City is already more 'open for business' now than it was in January. Inevitably on this forum we look at the gay night life of Pattaya from the point of view of farang, but we are a tiny part of the sex tourism of the City and arguably not that representative of the whole. My hotel sits on Soi 6, in January 50% of the bars were open, by the end of last week when I left again, it was near 80%. The more popular bars were rammed with the sound of bells being rung, party balloons out here and there. Walking Street was almost dead in January, but this trip much more was open, maybe 50% of the agogos for example. The Beer Garden was open again, and even the little bars between it and Beach Road were repopulating. Soi Bukhow was buzzing, particularly Tree Town with just about every bar open and in full swing - although I agree overall not as busy as in previous years, though some bars certainly were. Boyztown itself seemed about 50% open, Toy Boys remains closed but according to some of the boys who work there, likely to re-open next month. BBB was busy although the 'sexy shows', still more muted than in the past. Pikky Bar, Castro, etc not exactly full of customers but open with boys about. I suspect BT relies much more heavily on the Chinese market than it does on the farang - but others may disagree. Just outside BT itself, A-Bomb was discretely open, Dream Boys more openly open. X-Boys remained 'restaurant' only but again with reports that it would re-open inside next month. In Jomtien Complex, just about every bar that could be open was open, with Home Bar and Sun Bar in particular doing a roaring trade. The Venue had its shows back on and there were a series of 'street party/shows' on most nights, sponsored by one bar or another. Elsewhere in the town Thai shops and businesses were mostly open, a number of the closed 7/11s had re-opened. Even the McDonalds at the the bottom of Soi 6 had re-opened - although closing at 10pm. Most massage shops were open again, although the ones, down Second Road, opposite Alazar are abandoned and seemingly awaiting demolition. My advice, for what it is worth, is ignore the doom-merchants and get yourselves back over there; Pattaya is steadily re-opening for business!3 points

I would be very careful about that if I were you. If a venue is still open after the official closing time, I would advise leaving. The police do raid those venues. If that happens and you are in there, you'll be arrested right along with the bar employees and other customers. I don't know about anyone else, but the last thing I would want in Thailand is an arrest on my record, especially the next time I need to go to immigration. And the thought of spending even a few hours in a Thai jail is not an experience I would want. I would not want to have to try to explain to a higher raking police officer or a Thai judge why I did not obey the rules. I don't know what the consequences would be. To me, it is not worth the risk. I believe the bottom line is go and have a fabulous time, but whether you like them or not, obey the rules.3 points

My sister was visiting me in BKK a while back & together we took a 'Canal Adventure' tour (something I would never do on my own). We were met at the Wutthakat BTS station, escorted to a long-tail boat nearby & spent about 6 hours traveling on the canals west of the river. The tour included visits to a couple of temples, a market, an orchid farm, an artist's house plus lunch. The sights were interesting but not amazing. However, it was very enjoyable to travel by canal boat & see different parts of BKK, far from Silom & Sukhumvit. Ayutthaya is definitely worth a visit. I also did a side trip (by train) to Bang Pa-In Palace, which I liked a lot. It's called the Summer Palace & was used formerly by the Thai Royal Family.3 points -
I don't recognize your screen name, so in case you don't know who I am, I have been living full time in Pattaya for many years. I think your decision depends on what you're looking for. At the moment, most everything is open except the go-go bars. But there are plenty of gay beer bars open, especially in Jomtien Complex, and plenty of boys, not to mention plenty of boys on the gay hook-up apps. The beaches are open. The restaurants are open. The hours have been relaxed and as of May 1 they are expected to be further relaxed. So, unless the go-go bars are essential to your visit, I'd say to go back. You didn't say when you are thinking about going, but if you're lucky maybe the go-go bars will have reopened by then too. I think we all want to see the go-go bars reopen, including those of us who hardly ever even go to the go-go bars. In any case, those who have been visiting Pattaya have been posting that they have really enjoyed it and I have not seen a single post from anybody saying they regretted their trip. I hope you will choose to go to Pattaya and then later be posting about how much you enjoyed your stay and are glad you went.3 points

These lists are all basically nonsense. Anyone who believes that the length of the average erect Thai dick is only 11.45 cms needs to come and do some proper research. The only way that could be accurate is if they count in boys just entering their teens in the sample. To suggest that the average Japanese boasts an appendage more than 2 cms longer is even more nonsense. And that is a comparison I feel able to comment on!2 points

I once did a tour to Ayutthaya and booked through TAT (several years back now and was in a mini bus), went via Bang Pa In - return was by river boat with buffet lunch. Well worth it too, had a great day out and the river boat ride back to Bangkok was nice and relaxing.2 points

Tell me your penis size and I'll tell you what country your from

I've met a lot of guys in Brasil that aren't hustlers....average penis' I've met a lot of guys (Hustlers) in Thailand very big, non hustlers below average. The point of my story is, so many people have this image that ALL Brasillians have big ones, not true. It would be like seeing basketball players thinking everyone in USA is 61/2-7 ft tall. One friend told my that in Brasil it's very common when you are in your teens, that if a friend or someone, even a family member knows/sees that you have a big dick, they tell them to go work as a GP (Garoto de programa, a hustler) Like in the USA, if we know someone very tall, we ask or tell them to play basketball ๐2 points -
At least a few times a year, somebody publishes a list of the average penis size in countries--ranked in ascending or descending order--that have only one thing in common: it's nothing we didn't already know. I feel compelled to point out that veteran Thai visitors know from experience that there are numerous exceptions to the norm. Nevertheless, I post the results below if for no other reason to reassure that readers who find themselves in Southeast Asia or South America that you're in the right place to meet your getaway preferences. My overall reaction is that many of the numbers seem to fall a bit short of my personal recollections. But I can honestly say that I've never been disappointed in this particular measure. I tend to believe that readers (well, most of us, anyway) evaluate our encounters on many factors and size rarely comes in first. Side trips from bangkok

(usual disclaimer; in "normal" times these were all straightforward but I don't know about the present, so check before travelling.) Khao Yai: From Bangkok it's the most accessible national park - 3 hours or so by bus, minibus or train to Pak Chong. Hotels provide guided jungle tours and transfers from the bus/train station. The usual deal is a 2-night stay: arrive afternoon, take afternoon/evening tour including millions of bats leaving their cave at dusk. The following day take an all-day tour. There are longer options including overnight camping. See for example Bobbys Jungle Tours.1 point -
From The Thaiger Anutin says Thailand Pass may be scrapped, if Covid-19 continues to improve The Covid-19 situation in Thailand is beginning to stabilise and if cases continue to decrease, the Ministry of Health will consider completely cancelling the Thailand Pass, according to Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. In an interview today, Anutin said the Covid-19 situation in the kingdom is improving. He said the total number of infections, hospitalisations and deaths are all decreasing, as well as the daily use of antiviral drugs. If Thailand continues on this trajectory, Anutin said he will propose for the Thailand Pass to be completely cancelled and would also scrap the suggestion for incoming travellers to take an ATK test. Anutin said the Ministry of Health expected a much higher surge in cases following the Songkran holidays, which ended 10 days ago. He said the Ministry of Health would continue to monitor cases over the next 1 โ 2 weeks, and if they remain low, then they will consider scrapping the Thailand Pass for good.1 point

I did maeklong and ayutthaya on my own, took a day tour to kanchanaburi (local train tour, bought at hua lamphong station previously). Ive yet went to erawan sadly but definitely in my list to go. For ayutthaya i took the train, and deal with motorsai to bring me around all the temples. For maeklong, i missed the train in the morning, so i took a minivan from the station bus on the way there, but used the train going back to bangkok.1 point

I added to my post above while you submitted your latest post. You might want to have a look. There are plenty of varying opinions about which apps are the best. I can tell you the most popular apps are Planet Romeo, Hornet, Grindr, BlueD, and Jack'd. Don't forget about Facebook and LINE, and several other chats such as Instagram and Wechat. And there are plenty of boys on all of them. Which is the best? In my opinion there is no valid answer to that question. My advice is to try them all - often. Whichever of them has the boy who most interests you, then now you have found the best app - for that day . . .1 point

For those who like that sort of thing, this is the sort of thing they like... From Coconuts Bangkok If nothingโs tying you down next month, head to a Patpong cultural venue to learn esoteric art of Japanese rope bondage. Become a rigger or rope bunny at the Patpong Museum, which will host two-hour sessions starting at 7pm on May 7 or 3pm on May 8. Either session is THB900 per person; couples looking to bind can join together for THB1,600. Also known as kinbaku, or tight binding, shibari is a Japanese form of bondage which involves a person, known as the rigger, tying elaborate rope patterns around the model (or rope bunny). While mainly used as a form of pleasure, the time and attention taken to tying knots can be meditative and foster feelings of empowerment and sexual confidence. Attendees must be 18 and up. FIND IT Shibari 7pm, May 7; 3pm, May 8 Patpong Museum 3 Soi Patpong 2, Soi Surawong1 point

I will explain what I believe is going on. I was afraid of this - that due to the sanctions imposed on Russia there might be problems for both the Sawatdee board and my Gaybuttonthai board and that, at least for now, appears to be exactly what has happened. I think most of you know Moses is Russian and lives in Russia. He has his own server. Some of you may remember that not very long ago my board was having all kinds of technical problems that even Moses was not able to repair because it was all being caused by the server side. Moses was kind enough to offer to let my board be hosted on his own server. We moved my board to his server. It has been there ever since and has worked perfectly ever since. That is why both boards are currently down. Both boards on the same server. If the sanctions have blocked access to his server and if he can't find a way around it, I don't know what will happen, but it doesn't look very good at the moment. As for my board, I can't even move it to another server because I have no more access to it than any of you have right now. I do make periodic backups, but that doesn't do any good if I can't access the software on the server itself. Right now it is wait and see. I have no present intention of setting up a board on another server. I would have to start the whole thing all over again and I'm not inclined to do that. If Moses can figure out a way to get our boards working again, that would be great. If he cannot, then I made no decisions just yet. After all, I could be totally wrong about why our boards are down and Moses might be able to quickly get the problem fixed. For all I know, the problem may have nothing to do with the sanctions and it just as easily could be that something blew out on his server. So, for now I am in a wait-and-see mode. All I can do is just hope my board is not another casualty of this war. In the meantime, if I wish to post, as long as Michael permits me to post here, this is where I'll do my posting for the time being. I plan to continue trying to keep everyone up to date and well informed as best as I can.1 point

If they are hot and reply to me they are a money boy ๐ You can just ask where they work, if they say student, restaurant or regular shop 50% chance MB, if they say bar or massage 100% chance. Then they will sometimes just tell you they are a money boy, or you can ask if they want money to come to your hotel. It's not seen as a rude question in my experience as long as you don't make it weird.1 point

MB letters, dollar or baht sign, desired age 18-80 or even 18-99 are signs that he is MB indeed. I agree with Gaybutton, nothing awkward to ask straight away, if they may be offended , usually profile says ' not MB' or something to that effect. Don't be shy to ask as some profiles of bona fide escorts don't give any hint1 point
