Bangkok Trip report - MAR 2022 – Like there is no Tomowrrow

Day 2. Woke up late at Grand Hyatt Erawan. After breakfast I asked for a late checkout and they gave me a 4PM checkout without hesitation. It is probably also a byproduct of the hotel still being in medium capacity. Went to CentralWorld only to discover they closed all Coffee Bean branches in BKK. I like the big department store in CentralWorld that used to be called Zen and is now called Central. It's same prices as home but with lots of Asian brands we don't have back home. Bought my husband a backpack that he wanted and carried on my way back to hotel for checkout. W Hotel - I only stayed the first night at the Hyatt for the fast “get out of jail” card. Rest of the nights I wanted to spend at Silom. I Usually stay at the Meridien but I wanted to diversify since hotel prices were the cheapest I ever saw in BKK. I booked a studio suite at W for a total of 750 USD for 3 nights. I used rewards that I have so didn't actually pay but the fact is that this room in this hotel usually costs more than double. I booked that room specifically since I had a naughty fantasy with that tub which will be fulfilled in my first night there. Hotel was great and they gave me a free 6PM(!) checkout which is something I never got for free before. After checking in, I had coffee with an old friend from previous trips and after that I wanted a massage. Arrived to Silom Plaza's Arena just to discover that they don't serve the dish that I'm after. And by that I refer to Asian muscle. By Vinapu and Andy's recommendations I took a motor taxi to Sabaideespa. 4 guys on display, one of them suits my needs, I think his name was Jack. For the first time, following Vinapus advice, I go for 90 mins. I got the whole 90 mins. Massage was fun, playful and that guy was with a very high conscious of giving good service. I left that place very happy. What I failed to mention so far is that one of my main motivations to come to BKK was to meet someone from a past trip. In a previous trip report, I named him V (after his perfect V shaped torso) and we met at the White Party of 2018. This is a link to the over detailed full report of that trip, but in short, I'll say he is a fun guy to party with, we have a good connection, and his body makes me extremely weak at my knees. Some more background: after meeting in January 2018, we kept in touch online for about a year. Then he suddenly blocked me without explanation. Social media did show he had a boyfriend and I assumed that for some reason that is the reason he blocked me. Fast forward to mid-2021 after he and his BF broke up he texts me apologizing for his behavior with some explanations that sounded ridiculous to me but honestly, I did not care that much, I was happy that he contacted and waited for the right time to meet him again. I asked him to stay with me at nights and made sure he understands that during the days I'll be out without him and that he can do whatever he wants. Back at the W after my massage I wait for V to finish his work and come to my hotel. We meet at the lobby. I'm not surprised to see that he looks exactly the same. He's a classic case of - I'm not sure what I want more, to look like him or to fuck him, but at least I got one of the two. After we make out in the room, and after some talking, he wanted to shower and it was the perfect timing for me to fulfill one of my fantasies. One of the main reasons I chose to get a higher-class room was the tub. I imagined us in the tub together, him on me when I hug him from behind and soap his body. And that fantasy was exactly what happened. I was pleased that I accomplished to manifest an image I had in my mind, and after that we were both hungry and go to Soi 4’s Mexican restaurant to have a reasonable dinner. Although he offers to pay every taxi, restaurant or party we attend, I never let him. Money was never a part of the relationship between us but I know he struggles for his salary and for me paying on these expenses is easy and appreciated. From dinner we head straight to GOD. Everything is similar as it was in 2018 - he is extremely fun and sexy to party with. On that Friday GOD was not full but had a nice amount of people. Music is awesome, smoking is thankfully but ridiculously still allowed. We dance exactly the same way we did four years ago. V is an attention seeker and he wants to dance shirtless, at the mezzanine of the club, where everyone sees him, and the guy touching him and holding him from behind, which was yours truly. That guy knows how to party and I love clubbing with him. At 1:20 AM the lights turn on. That's way earlier than it used to be, but V says I'm not allowed to complain and instead just be thankful that it reopened. V who is still high, wants to go to a private after party. I don't and promise him we will go tomorrow and that tonight I want him for myself. We arrive at the room, then as it was in the past, we argue who is sex DJ tonight. V likes shitty circuit music and I like deep house. We have it my way that night and have a sex night. Our sex is in different rhythms each night, and tonight was softer and more passionate. We go to sleep exhausted and satisfied at about 5AM. Time zone wise, I deliberately wanted to go to sleep each night somewhere between 4AM to 6AM so that on the one hand I stay at Israeli Time zone, and on the other hand we don't miss hotel breakfast5 points -

From The Thaiger Officials warn about various scam Thailand Pass emails, some with malicious links Thailand Pass applicants are being warned about numerous scam emails from accounts posing as the Department of Consular Affairs or a team from the Thailand Pass system. Some emails are requesting personal information, such as passport numbers, and others include an encrypted link. Officials haven’t confirmed if any other information besides email addresses has been compromised from the Thailand Pass system. A Thailand Pass QR Code is a requirement for those entering the country on the Test & Go or Sandbox schemes. The approval process can take a week, but while waiting to hear back, travellers are being warned about phishing emails. Authentic emails on the Thailand Pass are sent from email addresses ending in @tp.consular.go.th or @consular.go.th, which are both official accounts under the Department of Consular Affairs. Some travellers have gotten emails saying there are problems with documents submitted to the embassy and asking for the last four digits of their passport number as well as their name and date of birth. Other phishing emails say a document needs to be downloaded, specifically on a PC, for information to be updated on the Thailand Pass system. Various spoof emails with malicious links have been sent to Thailand Pass applicants for the past several months. Some applicants say they’ve gotten an email months after being in Thailand.3 points

Was in Rio last week....great trip as always Amazing weather..I got in early Monday morning and left out on Friday... The beaches were packed and amazing on all of the days especially Monday and Tuesday.... Tons of gays in town for Carnival....great eye candy! Monday at Pointe was just so so...there was something going on at 117 so I think the crowd may have been there OR just out in the streets celebrating Tuesday at 117 was super packed...tons of new eye candy, tons of clients talking, drinking, hanging out...def met some new eye candy Decided to check out Pointe on Wednesday and it was decent....crowded...festive...didnt find anything of interest that day but made up for it on Thursday Back to 117 for my last full day in Rio....great decision...met a new guy, new to the scene, had a great time and exchanged Whatsapp info... Overall the trip was a success...plenty of sun, sand, sex....relaxation....I did some work while I was there as well Also learned that in a pinch, instead of getting Covid tested at the site at the airport, the little pharmacy will test you for less money and you get your results back immediately! Oh, Latam airlines has really good food! Would love to travel to Rio and Salvador again before winter there/summer here but may not happen.... Definitely planning to go back in September/October2 points

Curious what happened to the Russian invasion thread?

Typical insults from small-minded pro-war sycophants in the lead-up to every single war. If you're not for going to war you're friends with the enemy. Insults are all you have because there's no halfway intelligent reason for war with a nuclear power. Like all our last dozen wars and invasions they turn out to be stupid and bad for the US. And this one is the big banana that could kill half the US population. For nothing. Try making intelligent arguments for a war instead of crude stupid insults. Do you not realize that is a video? And it is a hilarious one on the pro-war media's lies .2 points -
Gov't plans to relax travel regs From Bangkok Post The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is preparing a plan to relax travel rules in line with the timeline to declare Covid-19 an endemic disease on July 1. The tourism goals for revenue and arrivals this year might be downgraded because of surging oil prices and inflation caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, said TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn. Mr Yuthasak said the plan to label Covid-19 endemic from the second half of the year will lead to further relaxations, including the termination of Thailand Pass, marking a milestone for the industry. The agency has to start working on new protocols over the next four months, he said. However, an RT-PCR Covid test result from tourists remains essential for the time being as the country is struggling with an overwhelming daily caseload, said Mr Yuthasak. He said Thailand should adopt safety procedures and learn lessons from other countries that have already opened up to ensure the kingdom remains competitive in luring international tourists. TAT plans to propose further easing of travel regulations at the next Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) meeting on March 18.2 points

How war is reshaping the world’s travel industry
Ruthrieston and one other reacted to JKane for a topic
I think the Russian oligarchs are very much feeling the pinch, assets seized all over the world including their yachts and airplanes, inability to travel freely, domestic holdings down 50% or more in value so far... International business ventures falling apart. There are no oligarchs in North Vietnam or Cuba, and as Putin threatens to take Russia in that direction they'd do well to remember it. How valuable is fighting (and eventually loosing) an endless war of occupation in whatever former eastern-block countries *not* part of Nato remain compared against all that's being lost? Their civil aviation about to drop to below third-world as they're *stealing* the aircraft and will not have any ability to ever properly maintain them again, nor ever purchase new aircraft again.2 points -
Bangkok Trip report - MAR 2022 – Like there is no Tomowrrow

When entering Israel, all passengers get tested in TLV airport upon arrival and must quarantine until they get their results. That is perfect time for me to start writing. Intro – 8th trip report (and 8th visit) to my favorite city in the world. 37yo Israeli. Last trip was for the White Party of New Year’s Eve 2020 with my husband. I remember that before we flew to BKK on the end of Dec 2019, reports were starting to come about some virus in China. I couldn’t imagine back then that this virus will make me separate from BKK for such a long time. More than 2 years and 4 Pfizer vaccines later I booked this solo long weekend, to see if even after Covid changed a lot in the world, the BKK magic is still there. And it is still there 😊 Bureaucracy – Once I booked my first night directly (Grand Hyatt Erawan) and got the authorization I submitted all documents online and Thai pass was approved in less than 24 hours. Since this trip was exactly 5 days, I did not need a second PCR. And also, they now dropped the second test anyways. I found the whole procedure friendly and fast. Flight – One of the unfortunate results of Covid is of course the chaos of booking flights. We used to have 3(!) TLV-BKK direct flights a day. Now we have once a week, and 3 times a week TLV-HKT (Phuket) -BKK. None of the direct options suited my very specific flight schedule requirements so I booked Turkish Airlines with an Istanbul connection (650 USD). This is a 14 hour journey with the main leg being over night which is exactly one of my firmest requirements of a flight to BKK. A couple of days before the flight, when the probability of me actually taking that flight was high, I found that business class fare declined dramatically so I upgraded (Additional 1600 USD). The TLV-IST leg in both directions was a full flight and the IST-BKK flight was half full in both directions. Flights were great, slept great and woke up refreshed. Suvarnabhumi was kind of empty and I was out in no time. Hotel – Grand Hyatt Erawan (9400 THB test & go package with fast PCR) – Not my preferred location. Hotel lacks character but they did supply the only thing that I really wanted them to – a really fast PCR result. On my way to the hotel, we stopped by Medpark Hospital for a drive thru test – 16:18 was the swab time. At 17:41 the phone rang with the negative results. They did what they promised they would and that was great. They were also very generous with a 4PM checkout time to match my next hotel check in. Breakfast was OK. After that I went for a stroll in Silom. Soi 4 seemed pleasantly crowded. Some places closed; others opened instead. All and all, I was surprised to see a lively scene, not far from the way it used to be. I enjoyed my walking thru the different streets and venues and waited for 22:30 for the show at Tawan to start. Tawan was a sad place that Thursday night. As some photos here show, it is forth of its original size – and the stage has almost no accessories or decorations. Actually, that night there was not even a show, just 4 guys going up and down the stage for an audience of 3 people. Guys on stage are not my type, some are off season, some are in no season, but as Vinapu said – it only takes one guy. And that guy was there – I think his name was Nut but I’m not sure. A Lean bodybuilder classic type. I didn’t want to leave Silom as I wanted to party later that night so it was coinvent that they offered a room. 2800 THB later (500 off, 300 room, 2K for the guy) and we were at their room which was descent enough for the muscle worship session I wanted. He supplied it to the max and I left there very happy for myself but sad for that establishment. I do think/hope that they will improve as more and more tourists come. After that went to DJ station, which was not full as it used to be but also not empty. Music there is still shit 😊. GOD was closed that night which disappointed me but I knew it would open for the weekend so I called it a night. Will continue soon.1 point -

How wonderful are memories of the good times in Thailand? Sitting here doing nothing yesterday my mind wandered down memory lane to the old Adonis massage off Soi Convent. I had 2 visits there and left more than satisfied both times, the first I was quite nervous (being new to the gay scene) but the selection, although there was only a half dozen or so boys to pick from were very nice looking and all had great bodies. The massage was quite good but when I saw the boy erect I very nearly fainted, my god but he had a lethal weapon and a half and I can say he knew just how to use it too (I was a novice no more). The second visit he wasn't there so I chose the other boy that had also taken my fancy the previous visit, once again a good massage and then I saw it, my god another one with a lethal weapon and same as the first he knew just how to use it to full effect. I wasn't into 4 hands massage at that time but thinking back to those experiences a 4 hands massage and those two monster cocks in the one session may just have destroyed me. After those two visits I had the feeling that all the tops at Adonis were very well hung but sadly I didn't manage to get back there to find out, I had this desire to go forth and keep trying out new places and experiences. Now as I start to think of returning to Bangkok that desire is also returning and I am looking forward to getting back into the fun times over there, soon hopefully.1 point -

tassojunior, you are really working hard for that upgrade on Aerolfot to Moscow reader mentioned. But in Stalinist Russia Westerners were suspect by definition and it looks Putin's Russia is heading in the same direction so probably you will be better off staying home in USA and kiss Putin via zoom or something. Post with body bags is bad taste, that war waged by your hero is real not a computer game1 point

Finding it ironic that Putin was America's candidate to lead Russia and that Zelensky was Russia's choice to lead Ukraine has nothing to do with taking sides. Neither does finding irony in Condolezza Rice (with a straight face and serious) saying a country invading another country is a war crime. Nor war criminal Hillary talking war crimes with the blood of around a million (not white) people on her hands with Biden right behind. The pro-war media is ridiculous in what it can get away with in the lead-up to all our wars it pushes. We always go into a pro-war hysteria in the US at the beginning. This isn't a video game or a movie; a lot of real people are really dying on both sides. And a rapidly escalating war between nuclear countries has been unimaginable from 1962 to today. Hot war between the US and Russia?--OMG. Inflaming passions just kills more people. It's hard to be objective but it's necessary to save lives. And it's not completely illegal yet. (But the censoring of opposing views is getting there fast).1 point -

True. If you are staying by the beaches around the tip of the peninsula, the ride to the historic area is actually shorter than to the closest sauna, and very much shorter than riding to Fox. And he would probably find that Fox worths more visits than the City.1 point -

I also remember Adonis fondly as my longest ever off ( 10pm till noon ) was from there. Most likely I did not impress my guy though because when we met by chance at soi Twilight barber few month later he did not recall me, thinking I was his English teacher. It looks not all Thai boys have such impressive memory1 point -
Thai Pass
daydreamer reacted to vaughn for a topic
I have just got my Thailand pass, a 48-hour turnaround from when I applied. One thing that I thought was going to cause a problem but didn't was listed on the required documents that the hotel must itemize the day 1 stay, transport, and the day 5 atk test on the prepaid receipt. My hotel didn't mention an ATK but was approved anyway, so I assume I can just buy a test from a pharmacy on day 5 or maybe they will hand me one when I arrive in Phuket. Overall I found it to be fairly easy once you get all of the required documents in order and take screenshots to upload in jpeg format.1 point -

Those lucky enough to be in the city we love may find this exhibition worth a visit. From Coconuts Bangkok After years roaming the capital to document its architectural glories, many of which now only exist in photographs, a photographer will bring them to a downtown gallery. At Something Was Here: The Fading Memories of Bangkok Modern Architecture, Weerapon “Beer” Singnoi will exhibit photographs of roughly 20 buildings around Bangkok, including Scala theater, which was hastily demolished last year despite promises it would be preserved amid a public outcry. “I hope that this exhibition will raise questions about how we can preserve our architectural heritage,” Weerapon said. “Before something becomes forgotten, how can we balance development and conservation?” It’s a topic Weerapon knows well: He has been archiving such buildings via his Foto_momo project for the past five years. His other photos for the exhibition buildings focus on Bangkok’s concrete cathedrals to versatility and function that defined Bangkok’s midcentury, post-war Thai Modernism, an era being rapidly demolished. Other buildings to be featured are the Indra Regent Hotel, Dusit Thani Hotel (RIP), and Hua Lamphong, aka the endangered Bangkok Train Station. The event is a collaboration between Foto_Momo and its Dutch inspiration, Docomomo, aka the Documentation and Conservation of Buildings, Sites, and Neighborhoods of Modern Movement. Something Was Here will run March 15-27 on the third floor of the Bangkok Cultural and Art Center. The contemporary art gallery is connected to BTS National Stadium by skywalk.1 point

Sanctions can impose harsh conditions that punish a population but they don't, as we can see, deter aggression. And the super wealthy elite don' feel the pinch. Even should the Russian people force the hand of Putin's oligarchs and generals and arrange his exit, there's no guarantee Putin's successor will be much better. But even that will not bring about an end to the destruction of Ukraine. The truth is that only overwhelming force deters aggression. That's how the Axis powers were defeated the last time war on this scale took place in Euurope. I know it's not a popular notion but it's the only one that works. Sure, there's always the alternative of Ukraine capitulating in surrender. But that would leave Putin with the very prize he set out to claim in the first place. Then he could regroup and go about selecting his next targets of opportunity. No one believes he's going to stop with Ukraine. And NATO will still be facing the bully bear in its backyard. Maybe it will resort again to hand wringing and sanctions?0 points
