From CNN Travel Riverside restaurant owner Titiporn Jutimanon was convinced a bout of flooding in Thailand could be the end of a business already struggling from the pandemic. But with the rising tide of the Chao Phraya river this week came an unexpected opportunity. Instead of closing for the floods, Titiporn's eatery is making waves, staying open for customers who are reveling in shin-deep dining, and the thrill of avoiding the rush of water set off as boats go by. "Customers absolutely love the waves," said Titiporn, who runs the Chao Phraya Antique Cafe in Nonthaburi, north of Bangkok. Videos have gone viral on social media of customers sitting on drenched chairs, taking mouthfuls of food as long-tail boats buzz by, then moving out of the way as waves hit. About 30 northern and central provinces have been hit by flooding in recent weeks, raising levels of the famous river that flows through Bangkok. Titiporn's business was forced to close during Covid-19 lockdowns, but she's glad she decided to brave the floods. "Not only do they love the atmosphere and the barbecue pork and the view of the sunset ... the flood became an additional unique factor," she said. "I feel so lucky that the customers love it, the flood wasn't a challenge for them to come." Customers cheer and laugh as their wooden stools are knocked over by the water that breaches the restaurant. It holds two sittings each day for diners to enjoy the experience when the water levels are highest. I believe Cambodia is mostly using Chinese vaccines, with some Astra Zeneca, so its high vaccination rate my not be as re-assuring as it could be. Notwithstanding that, Cambodia is a viable alternative if Thailand does not open up soon. The only downside is that Phnom Penh doesn't really have enough attractions (our kind of attractions) to justify more than a quick 3 or 4 day visit. I don't know about Siem Reap, but from what I've read, no better than Phnom Penh.

Yes, I suspect that it is still the same. The super-rich often want complete privacy. They can do their shopping in NYC or London and Paris. Many probably never set foot inside a shop anyway.

You see those gorgeous models on cam sites, but in reality, unless you have made arrangements with those models, there is not a way for you to find them physically when you are already in Medellin. They are not on Grindr (the ones on Grindr are not those good looking, toned, muscled types you see on cam sites). And there is no GP saunas in Colombia like in Brazil. The cam site models are certainly not going to be in the parks or on the streets looking for customers. I’ve never really been one for writing trip reports. Nothing I put together is going to have numazu’s flare. I also have zero interest in others critiquing my negotiation tactics with the boys which are basically predicated on the fact that a night out where I live that does not involve two “lean and toned and fully vers and passionate” guys that are two-thirds my age costs a good deal more than what I spent at Lagoa on the first night I was there. That said, I have learned a good deal from this forum that was very useful when I first started traveling to Thailand several years ago and, at least of late, there has been a dearth of trip reports containing current info so (and against my better judgment), here goes: On Wednesday at Lagoa boys outnumbered clients by a good bit. Even though there were only two boys that really did it for me, most of the boys there were attractive, especially if you like muscle. Negotiations started at 200 in both cases and ended at 150 because, well, they were both really hot and I did not travel here to quibble over 50 R. In both cases though I’m pretty sure they would have agreed to 100 which leads me to Saturday night…. On Thursday, I met Gabriel at Lagoa who was absolutely gorgeous. Negotiations started at 200 and quickly ended at 100 as soon as I offered it. We ended up spending the entire night together though so I gave him more which seemed to make him very happy. While I was with him I learned that he had literally arrive the day before from Minas Gerais. Friday, I traveled to Rio and went to Point 202. Client to boy ratio favored clients just as it did at Lagoa. At Point there were two guys that did it for me and just as it did at Lagoa negotiations started at 200 and ended at 150. In this case though, I’m not quite as sure they would have gone lower if I had pushed. Unfortunately, both guys were mechanical when we got into the cabins and I don’t think I will be seeing either one of them again. I also don’t like the cabins at Point very much. The ones at Lagoa are nicer. Saturday morning in Rio I met a 23 year old using the apps. He was a total bottom which is not usually my thing but he had an incredible body and said he wanted me to “help him with his English” so I agreed to met him figuring that he would probably try and get some money out of me at some point but, well, that never happened.
