Le Mann Club, Hua Hin
tm_nyc and one other reacted to macaroni21 for a topic
Chanced upong this Youtube video from March 2020, but I don't know when the event was. What was interesting was that the place was apparently in Hua Hin -- maybe there's new life there after all -- and the video title said (according to Google Translate at least) "Fitness club exclusively for men Lemannclub". Despite the "exlcusively" promise, the event was disappointingly heteronormative.2 points -
Swiss woman murdered in Phuket
Ruthrieston and one other reacted to PeterRS for a topic
I know nothing about the case beyond what i read in the media. But should I find it strange that a 27 year old Thai male out to collect wild orchids was aroused by any 57 year old woman? The blurry photo of the arrested man in the Phuket Daily News looks like he is around 164 cms in height and has a full head of fluffy hair. The photo of the man on the motorcycle in the Bangkok Post photo looks taller with hair having receded slightly at the temples. Not that this proves anything. Merely an observation. A South China Morning Post description of the incident states the woman was swimming below the waterfall. It adds she was "partially clothed". Her purse had been robbed of 300 baht which according to the police the suspect used to buy "drugs, drinks and phone repairs." If you have what is clearly quite a large motorbike, after paying for phone repairs, how much would be left over for booze and drugs? Again something seems a bit odd here. Yet one more oddity is that the Ton Ao Yon waterfall is not well known, it's hard to find and very difficult to access. Several websites also state the pathways are confusing and you need good shoes to avoid sharp rocks. https://www.scmp.com/news/asia/southeast-asia/article/3144249/thai-police-arrest-suspect-killing-swiss-woman-island2 points -
Eminently sensible demands, in my opinion and consequently doomed to be ignored. Poor Thailand. Still, good to see that the young are still struggling for justice.2 points

From Bangkok Post Demonstrators react to tear gas during a clash with police in Bangkok's Din Daeng area on Saturday. (Photo by Wichan Charoenkiartpakun) Police fired tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon on anti-government protesters on Saturday, the culmination of a running battle in which demonstrators were forced to change their destination three times. Redem demonstrators had arranged originally to meet at Democracy Monument at 2pm on Saturday, with a plan to march to the Grand Palace. Redem (Restart Democracy) has no official leaders but still has guards. Created by the Free Youth group in February, it can consist of different pro-democracy groups that share common goals at any given time. The group on Saturday was looking to push three demands — Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha must unconditionally resign as prime minister, the budgets for the palace and armed forces must be cut and allocated to Covid-19 relief efforts, and the "tycoon" Covid-19 vaccine must be changed to the mRNA type. A few hundred people arrived at Democracy Monument around noon. Police closed the area to traffic at 12.20pm and told them to disperse. In front of the Grand Palace nearby, the usual wall of containers was seen, fortified this time with decommissioned tanker cars obtained from the State Railway of Thailand. At 1pm, police started clearing the area. Rubber bullets were reportedly used and at least two people were arrested. The demonstrators were pushed back to the Phan Fa Bridge. Some threw firecrackers and fired catapults at the police. Free Youth then posted on Facebook that the destination was being changed to Government House. As container walls were also set up there, a loudspeaker truck announced another change of destination to Victory Monument, with a planned march to the 11th Infantry Regiment, where Prime Minister Prayut resides. As the demonstrators arrived at Victory Monument and were heading for Vibhavadi Road, which leads to the army base, police blocked traffic using stacked containers and barbed wire, with crowd control police lining up behind the barriers. Police told them to go back to Victory Monument. As some of the protesters tried to remove the containers, several tear gas canisters were fired at them at Din Daeng intersection at 3.30pm. Police said they would use rubber bullets if the protesters still tried to move forward. At 5.30pm, police pushed them further back to Victory Monument using water cannon. Video taken at the scene also showed tear gas and muzzle flashes — possibly from firing of rubber bullets — being used by officers positioned on the skywalk overlooking the roundabout. Free Youth called off the rally around 5.30 but sporadic clashes were continuing into the evening between small groups of protesters and police. The Victory Monument BTS station was temporarily closed as the police operation continued. Dozens of protesters were seen being carried away on motorcycles and in ambulances. The Erawan Emergency Medical Centre said at least two civilians and three officers had been injured. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2161607/police-crack-down-on-protesters1 point

Source To protect its coral reefs, Thailand on Tuesday enacted a law prohibiting the use of sunscreens in all national parks. Those who violate the law will face a fine of up to THB100,000 (US$3,022), according to the details published last night in the Royal Gazette. The law was passed due to a link between coral damage and sunscreen used by tourists in the waters of marine parks, the department of national parks said. That means all sunscreens containing Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, 4-Methylbenzyl and Butylparaben are banned from use. Several studies have confirmed that chemical UV filters common to sunscreen lotions and cosmetics can have negative impacts on marine life, especially juvenile coral. Quite refreshing to see thai gov doing the right thing once in a while. Time to check which sunscreen we can use! Lol1 point

Any news about Cuba?
macdaddi reacted to floridarob for a topic
No, but I talk to people there....they say the shelves are bare. Worse than during the "special period"..... the restrictions to enter, quarantine and all....doesn't make it sound too inviting. They tell me to not think about going, plus I can't find any flights. If you do go, customs lifted the limits that you can bring as much food items as you want....I'd guess restricted fruits & meats and and whatever would still be restricted.1 point -

In the lead-up to the games, and in the first few days of competition, I was very sceptical as to whether or not the games could outrun Covid. But somehow Japan managed to keep the virus at bay inside the Olympic bubble even as it was threatening to run rampant outside. Well done, Japan! So sorry I doubted you. I really should have known better.1 point

I checked out your Twitter! Didn't realize you had one until now. I see that you also jumped on the Onlyfan's bandwagon. Maybe the proceeds from the channel will not only fund all your travel expenses, not that you will need any of them, but also turn you a handsome profit. I'm curious if any of the black talents will get a share? lol. Maybe we soon will see two stuff the back entry and one fill the front?1 point -
I think so too, but if it were me, I wouldn't be booking any flights until I know my vaccine certificate will be accepted.1 point

They are probably a little short on Cambodian and Burmese workers to blame this one on, and they definitely won't want it to be another tourist who is guilty of this heinous crime. But the "police" force in Thailand are probably short of people to get tea money out of these days so maybe they are bored and might pretend to do some actual investigation. Duh.1 point -
Interesting to know this. My vaccine cert does have my full name and ID lol. But still lack passport number. Foreigners here will definitely have their passport number in the vaccine cert as they are using their passport number as their ID. I wonder how thailand vaccine certificate looks like. Hopefully it does have passport number in it for their locals.1 point

I did, several times when I was still finding out what I was into. The last time was about 18 years ago, and that last one was only because without me bottoming, I was not topping an extraordinary African God I picked up on 17th St after Cobalt night. I never enjoyed it. Although I always keep my options open and do believe that we can always learn more about ourselves and change no matter our age, I do not feel the desire to bottom and I have no fantasies about it. I am not proud or ashamed, but of course I would love to be versatile as the possibilities for Joy would multiply. Anyways, as I am aging my erection is not always reliable. Beyond viagra, perhaps I should start switching to describing myself as a dominant oral lover, so I do not disappoint anyone.1 point -
Buenos Aires, Argentina. June/July 2021

Right now I am waiting in my airbnb for a car service that will pick me up and take me to Ezeiza. At today's exchange rate, it costs me U$S 12.33. Just finished packing. Yesterday, I got my airbnb's hostess to refund me almost 90 bucks. On Wednesday, I went to the Lab to get my covid test, ready for a fight. My appointment was August 2nd, and I thought that I had a better chance walking up to their site instead of calling. No fight was needed, the whole process was delightful. They even refunded me money, as I had paid for a PCR test. As the well known lazy dilettante I am, I did not research properly and just assumed that the PCR test needed to entry Argentina was a universal demand. Fortunately, this lazy dilettante feeds from the wisdom of the real experts. Thanks to the friend @floridarob, I learned that you need a rapid antigen test to entry the US. I had paid for a test that costs twice what I needed. However, not only everyone was super friendly and accommodating, from the security guard to the nurses, not only they administered the test without an appointment that day, but they algo gave me back half of the money. I ended paying U$S 20 for the rapid test. I could have gotten it for free in the public system, but did not want to take the risk of a delay in case they were overwhelmed. If you happen to be in Buenos Aires, I strongly recommend LABORATIORIO ROSSI. I actually chose them amongst the recommendations in the US embassy website. They have a very friendly user portal to set appointments and pay, and several locations in the city. They told me that the results could take up to 24 hours. A few minutes after I walked in back to my airbnb, I was receiving an email with a link to my negative result. Sweet. These last days I walked a little bit for Monserrat and San Telmo, which are more or less Buenos Aires Historic District. This is a representative view: My iPhone is not very good at taking the images without adding light everywhere (or I do not know how to use it properly), and you cannot appreciate in this pictures how daylight is fading, and classic farolas are already lightning up in the background. This is a very popular neighborhood amongst foreigners. They mostly come on weekends, though, when these empty streets become very crowded, many of them closed for vehicular traffic and turned into only pedestrian. It is an area full with antiques stores, and an antiques street fair on weekends. As I am walking late and on a weekday, most stores are close, but you can see a few examples. Many blocks are filled with stores likes these ones. Also take a look at this picture, because if you visit Buenos Aires you will probably not recognize this place: It is the famous Plaza Dorrego, which is wrongly called "Placita San Telmo" by many. You would not recognize this place because you would probably visit on a weekend. Walking would be challenging in the crowd, and the space would be covered with stands offering antiques and art-craft. This was an area I used to visit a lot during the last years of the military dictatorship back in the early 80s. Back then, gays and lesbians would shelter in this area rather than Barrio Norte. I used to hang out in bars around Plaza Dorrego a lot. Then, during the second half of the 80s and the first of the 90s, I was involved in acting and directing theater in the local alternative circuit. I walked by the place where I took my first acting class. Now it is a typical store selling used furniture. It is also the Bohemian hood in Buenos Aires, where artists choose to live. Many of my artists friends still live there, and I am always visiting them. So not only I have been in this area in each of my visits to the city, but besides I'm very familiar with it. Of course I notice changes like old stores gone and new ones arrived, but everything else is pretty much the same. I do not see the blooming change I saw in Palermo, a mostly unknown territory for me. This is a very alive area at night in non pandemic times, almost as much as Palermo. Last night I wanted to say goodbye with a boom, but my plans went wrong. They started surprisingly well, and then they went in a very wrong direction. At 4 pm I received Y, my Venezuelan friend. I think I shared before that our sex was not so satisfactory and we were drifting towards a "clean" friendship. Well, we had an amazing chemistry. Not only the sex rapport was intense, but the whole interaction was very warm and fulfilling. We had a shower together, and oral sex while bathing each other. Then we continued making out and we were about to have full sex when we realized it was 7:30. I had made an appointment at 8 with one of my favorite local escorts. We had been even fucking for free, and I wanted to say goodbye paying him his new fee (thanks to my advertising he has now a new and higher fee) in full, and having amazing sex. I had warned him I may be saying goodbye to a friend when he arrived at 8. When Y and I realized it was 7:30, we decided to smoke a quick joint and have some more oral sex instead of fucking. I was eating his ass when my date rang 15 mins before scheduled. I went down to bring him up, and warned him that he had interrupted us because he came in earlier. Everything seemed to be OK. I am not going to enter in details from here. The point is that he was completely disrespectful and dismissive of my dear friend, with all the racist and xenophobic attitudes that trigger me. You all know how easy I am to trigger with these things. It is not only online. After walking Y out, apologizing for the bad moment (he was shaking, trying to control his rage), I came back furious and had a two hours very uncomfortable conversation, and of course no sex. So I had that bad closing of my night. I am happy now because I have already talked several times with Y and he (we) is fine. Today I had a last lunch with home made cooking. After kissing goodbye my mom and sister, I came to my base to pack and here you have me. This is the last report I am posting in this thread. I think.1 point -
A thunderous applause goes to you. While I have read about types in various forums, I've always said to myself: "I don't have a type." I like men (period), and if something about them appeals to me and we connect favorably, off we go! I'm with you and wholeheartedly concur. Now if men want to be attracted to certain men based on specifics, that's that individual's choice.1 point

Patpong looks after its own
Ruthrieston reacted to reader for a topic
From Coconuts Bangkok The Patpong red-light district in October 2020, when many venues were open as Bangkok enjoyed a calm in the eye of the pandemic storm. Photo: Chayanit Itthipongmaetee / Coconuts Bangkok Weeks after sex workers grabbed attention with their high heels and panties to demand a piece of the government safety net, their means of survival – even access to much-needed vaccines – remain ignored. Not only does social stigma make sex workers convenient pandemic scapegoats for the authorities, but the fact that prostitution enjoys no legal protections leaves sex workers forgotten in the margins, despite being among the most at-risk groups for COVID-19. “What we do generates a lot of income for the country, yet, we are often overlooked by the authorities,” Siriprapa “May” Sukcharoensri, a 32-year-old sex worker employed by Patpong’s Barbar Fetish Club, told Coconuts Bangkok. “We’re always the first place to close and the last to reopen.” Months of closure for Patpong’s red-light venues, May said, forced many sex workers back to their hometowns to save on living costs and care for their families. And despite the risks coming into intimate contact brings for disease transmission, their young age puts them near the back of the line for vaccines. May’s boss, Barbar owner Michael Messner, used business channels to secure 100 doses of Chinese-made Sinopharm doses, enough to sponsor the inoculation of 50 workers. “This wave has increased the suffering of the Patpong workers and community, and nobody is talking about it anymore,” said Messner, whose entertainment group also owns the Patpong Museum and Candle Light Studio art gallery. “There is zero help from the government, it almost seems that this sector could be designated ‘collateral damage.’” That’s led sex workers remaining in the famed red-light district, which has been dark since April, to band together to find any means to survive. Those who have remained in the capital have had to shift online to channels such as OnlyFans or rebrand themselves for a domestic audience instead of foreign tourists. “Although we’re affected directly, 100%, we cannot stop moving,” May said. “Like other people, we have expenses and families to take care of. There was one woman who had to pay her own university tuition, and I admired her so much for that.” “Survival mode is a key to staying afloat,” Messner said. “This means canceling their rented flats, and 3-4 moving in together into one flat sharing the expenses, selling their gold and liquidating other assets, like motorcycles, TVs and other possessions that can quickly be turned into cash.” Continues at https://coconuts.co/bangkok/features/failed-by-govt-that-scorns-sex-workers-patpong-looks-after-its-own/0 points
