  1. Hi Guys, I've been busy for a while and writing doesn't come that easy for me. For those of you who are interested: Let me clarify the situation with my friend first. He is 53 and believe it or not, he doesn't pay for sex. I've known him for 20 years and this never changed. For people who are used to paying for sex, it might come as a surprise that a 53-year-old can have so many young guys, but he really can. I've seen boys follow him from Asia to Europe at their own expense. When he goes to Thailand, he goes to meet Chinese boys. These guys have their own money. He is always very clear about the money part. He usually gets his boys through the apps during the day and at night he goes out to drink and then sleep alone. I am the opposite. Back to Cuba... I read @macdaddi 's post about $15 for a night out in Cuba. This is not my experience. Cuba is crazy expensive in more ways than one. But I can not speak for other people's experiences. Day 2 was a Friday. In the daytime, we didn't do that much. At night Blondie came to pick us up to go to Pico Blanco. We had to pay some kind of entrance fee and then with the elevator to the top floor. I remember that the room was rather big with a single bar. There was a stage with many tables and chairs in front. We decided to sit at the right side of the stage but as far back as possible. I don't think it was overly expensive compared to the other places I've been to in Havana. It was not busy when we entered but there were some cute guys. One was my friends' type and he didn't waste time going after him. I stayed at the table drinking with Blondie till my friend came back with the boy. He was cute, had light skin, short straight dark hair, and a tongue piercing. Ugghhh, I'm not into piercings. The worst is when they have a nose ring. The boy, whose name I don't remember was very nice. He spoke fluent English and was interesting to talk to. In the meantime, the place filled up and Camilo also walked in. If you remember, he was the guy I met a night before and planned to meet this night in Pico Blanco. He looked just as cute as the night before. I invited him to come and sit next to me and we had some drinks. Around that time the show also started but that is all a blur to me now. I only remember that we had fun and we went in a group in an old Caddilac (could have been a chevy) to Mixto. Mixto was as much fun as the night before. After a while, Camilo came to me and asked why I wanted a threesome. I was not sure what he meant. i told him that I wasn't interested in a threesome. Then he told me that Blondie had asked him duhhhh... yeah, I had asked Blondie to find a boy, but obviously not a boy that I was already on a date with. Elian was in Mixto, too. HE WAS PISSED! And I don't mean drunk. As I said, he was 27 but looked very young and he was very small too. He was just cursing at my friend, who had dumped him the night before. I spoke to Elian a couple of times that night. He was intelligent and also fluent in English. He explained that he had dated my friend a couple of days prior, and he was disappointed that my friend went with so many other boys. This is really the story of the 20 years that I've known my friend. I lost count of how many boys came to me with the love problems they had with my friend. Pretty amazing! Especially when you know how many really nice boys he just dumped. Again, not one time was it about money. To be honest, this second day is hard for me to recall. Camilo went home with me and I did have a little crush. He had a perfect face and a perfect body... a great night. Besides this, no major crazy things happened. I think it all started to get crazy from day three. I might write about day three when I have a few drinks. Somehow it's easier to remember those things after a few :-)

  2. Yes, I've generally liked FUtS quite a bit. But the stalkerish/controlling behavior of Pond's character is problematic. I think Louis (Meen) is the best thing about the show. The acting has gone up a notch in the last few epiosdes. The fantasy sequences in Ep 11 were great. For sure the Duean/Meen story has been much more fun and interesting. And I like Duean's posse.

  4. I can't agree more. The live interaction ("chemistry") is indispensable, which is why renting from ads or online has been about 50% disappointing to me. In the saunas, I've been shocked by several guys who were not my type but somehow hooked me. I still remember one guy in Brasilia who got me with his seductive eyebrows - I kid you not.

  5. I think we all have our own "type" and think that's the best looking and everyone else's is ugly, lol Tonight, I didn't even feel like going out. Monday night can be hit or miss in the saunas..... I had seen this young Will Smith looking guy in here the last few nights and wondered what he was like. I started a conversation with him about his haircut and it went on from there. We talked a bit and he agreed to come back to my apt. He was sooo interesting to talk to and very intelligent.....ended up being a great night and great sex. Glad I went out and tried something outside of my normal types......now will sleep like a baby

From The Thai Enquirer Government releases guideline for Phuket sandbox The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) released, on Friday, a step-by-step guide for entering and exiting the “Phuket Sandbox” which will begin on July 1. These regulations will also apply to Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao when they are reopened. Before arriving: Must be coming from a country with a low to medium risk as per the Ministry of Public Health. Fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac, and Sinopharm Covid vaccines (no less than 14 days earlier, but no more than one year) and has a Vaccine Certificate to prove it. Must has a COVID Free certificate to prove that you have tested negative for Covid no more than 72 hours before arriving Obtain a Certificate of Entry (COE) which could be acquired online via www.entrythailand.go.th Upon arrival: Download the Mor Chana tracing application Picked up by designated vehicles and to be dropped off at an accommodation that is certified with the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) Plus certification (Alternative Local Quarantine (ALQ) for Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao) Be tested for Covid at the accommodation or designated venues If tested negative, you can roam around Phuket. For Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao, you can roam around the accommodation and its facilities only Must stay in Phuket for 14 days before you can travel to other provinces. For Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao, visitors must stay inside the accommodation’s area for three days before they can go around to designated routes and areas on the islands. After seven days, they will be able to travel without quarantine between the three islands and Mu Ko Thale Tai. Visitors will be tested again on day six or seven and day 12 or 13. The days to be tested could be changed to be in accordance with the CCSA’s regulation at the time. Visitors must strictly follow Covid-prevention guidelines including social distancing, mask wearing and handwashing. Before leaving: If visitors are going to other provinces, they must have evidence that they have stayed at a SHA+ accommodation for at least 14 days. https://www.thaienquirer.com/28759/government-releases-guideline-for-phuket-sandbox/ ================================= From The Thaiger Expats in Phuket without a work permit can register for a Covid-19 vaccine Expats living in Phuket, who do not have a work permit, can now register for a Covid-19 vaccine. Under the local vaccine registration website, www.phuket.win, there are now links for foreigners with work permits and foreigners without work permits to apply for a vaccine. Of course, with the ever-faulty websites run by the Thai government, we had to give it a try and the links work, both on a computer and on a smartphone. For expats outside of Phuket, you might have to wait. Appointments are full for foreign residents, according to the vaccine registration website ThailandIntervac.com, which is run by the Department of Disease Control. Earlier this week, the website had a data leak due to a “temporary glitch” while the site was undergoing “urgent” maintenance to keep up with the high demand for a vaccine appointment. Other people’s names, passport numbers and locations would appear under “user information” when people tried to get in the queue for an appointment. https://thethaiger.com/news/phuket/expats-in-phuket-without-a-work-permit-can-register-for-a-covid-19-vaccine

  9. I believe that there's an expectation within hi-so Thai society that they should maintain conservative and traditional values. But I also think that's as much--if not more--a political expression as it is a moral one. And it's hardened more in the last generation because the wealthy classes feel a need to be more cohesive in the face of rising dissatisfaction from the working class who aren't as willing to accept the growing gap in wealth distribution. As you get outside the major cities of Bangkok and Chiang Mai, traditional values are a bit different, particularly in the agrarian north east. The most important is loyalty to family and friends. Few among the working classes have investment portfolios to cushion their retirements. They are comforted by the fact that their children won't forget them and that they will always have a place to live. And if their son or daughter turns out to be gay, it's not threatening because they're not subject to high society norms. As to whether Bangkok should again have a pride parade, I agree the decision--and responsibility--should be driven by the gay community and supported by the business community (and not just the bars and gay clubs). That's how I think it survives so well in Taipei (see final photo below). I've only been in bkk for one pride parade, 2006 (second photo). But I recall that there was a strong turnout, as there appears to have been in the first pride parade (top photo).

  10. Generally......Had someone steal the key from the neighbor that cleans the apt I stayed at and showed up when he knew I'd be out, even stole the whole suitcase. Luckily I didn't keep valuables in the apt. Had a friend walking in old Havana, someone riding on a bike rode by and rippid his gold chain off his neck. Had various little things taken, like nail clippers, sunglasses, etc.... that you don't realize until you go to use it. Had a cop come to my room to collect his payoff for not arresting my Cuban friend for peeing in the street. I could go on....is pretty safe...but I've had more thievery happen in Cuba than Rio or Bangkok....your mileage may vary

  14. I can be that friend, LOL My first Pfizer was Apr 13 and 2nd was scheduled for Aug 3rd but now they decided to speed up and I will get it on Jun 29th. As so called rich countries are rapidly approaching full vaccination ( it doesn't mean all will be vaccinated soon but at least all who are willing to, in some countries sizable chunk of population is still refusing and not convinced ) more and more doses will be available for others. Things are fortunately moving fast , three months ago we were complaining about ineptitude of our government in obtaining enough doses , two months later there were reports of unused doses

  15. such fundamental cultural changes can only be introduced slowly. Moving things too fast risks societal backlash. Look at abortion rights, 50 years after Roe/ Wade it's still not a such sure thing and movements to restrict it are alive and kicking.

  16. it does indeed, we are waiting patiently, in meantime :"Fish Upon the Sky" is approaching grand finale. Not outstanding but funny. Main couple both very handsome , secondary couple more interesting as characters can't be more different and they still clicked. Similar happened in My Engineer where I found secondary couple (Ram King ) more interesting than main one .

  17. You are talking about Cuba the country, right??? I'd never categorize Cuba, the country like this, lol Sex for free or sex for money...which costs more.....sex for free. You pay with emotions, gifts, dinners, drama, etc..... Like Charlie Sheen used to say when asked why he pays for sex....he said, I don't pay FOR sex....I pay for them to LEAVE after.

  18. I cannot help feeling that article hardly represents the views of anything like a majority of Thais. For a start, the professions of the respondents - with one exception - are hardly representative of the community as a whole. The one exception is the student. I am delighted that he is finding more openly gay colleagues attending events for, as he says, the future is in their hands. I would like to have seen the views of at least two gay Thai professionals. Even as an expatriate with various Thai friends who has lived and worked here over many years, I know that Thai society as a whole remains extremely conservative. Most families are accepting when told their sones or daughters are gay. But there is ends. Many professional gay Thai men (and I assume women as well) will not dare tell their colleagues about their sexuality. They know only too well that this can affect their prospects for promotion. The business community is far less accepting. As some of the respondents point out, education about the LGBT community and lifestyles will no doubt help. It seems certain that existing views too often hold inaccurate and unfortunate conclusions - traditional customs, greater exposure to AIDS, ladyboy tendencies etc. I dislike even suggesting this but I believe gay community leaders here are partly to blame. I can't help looking at Taiwan where it was gay individuals who led the movement to change views among the general population, views that were generally homophobic. Progress was slow and steady and it started at a time when there were very few gay venues and places for gays to meet. Even the annual gay pride parade was started by individuals intent on getting across simple messages each year. Now of course it is a massive event with close to 200,000 attending the annual Gay Pride March. Around the turn of the millennium, Bangkok did have its own Gay Pride March. Even though the aim of the organisers was no doubt laudable, it really was a farce. I say that because it was organised by the gay business community. So those who took part were the boys and lady boys who worked in the bars and spas. It was way over the top for a city like Bangkok and drew few spectators. Certainly I think not many more than a handful of non commercial gays took part. Not surprisingly it died after a few years. For the gay movement develop here it cannot be led by the commercial venues.

  19. I recalled UK was heavily criticized when they decided to vaccinate majority of the people with one dose first, against the AZ trial 2nd dose at 3 weeks. Turns out the efficacy is better at 12 weeks, and many countries now follow suit. And whats more important is one dose of AZ also gave a very reasonable protection at above 70%. I think other countries are delaying 2nd dose of diff type of vaccines too but too lazy to research. At least one of my friend in a diff country are getting his 2nd dose date nuch later than the recommended 3 weeks for pfizer.

  20. From VN Express YouTube has honored Dustin Phuc Nguyen as one of four pioneering LGBTQ+ creators in Southeast Asia who use the streaming platform to advocate for their communities. "Dustin Phuc Nguyen gave up a potential TV host career as a VJ for MTV channel in 2016 to co-start his YouTube channel, Dustin On The Go, where he hosts his own creative shows, starring top celebrities and influencers," YouTube said in a blog post on June 18. Many of his talk shows have become very popular, including ‘Bar Stories,’ in which he meets and talks with celebrities while drinking cocktails, and ‘Caraoke with Dustin.’ He came out as gay in a talk show on national television in 2019 and has since been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. In 2020, he ran ‘Love Is Blind,’ a blind date talk show that connected couples of all genders. "We want to explore topics that are often on the sidelines of the mainstream discussion," he once told media outlet Vietcetera in an interview. "There are many untold stories in this world and even more talented people, but they get little recognition." On being honored as a pioneer LGBTQ+ creator, he said in a Facebook post, "Nothing makes me happier than doing my favorite work and being myself." The others honored were Brendan Tan of Singapore, Mikey Bustos of the Philippines and Koen Danai of Thailand. https://e.vnexpress.net/news/life/trend/vietnamese-youtuber-among-four-pioneering-southeast-asian-lgbtq-creators-4296529.html

  21. From Bangkok Post Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital is trumpeting the work being done at its new Gender Health Clinic (GHC), one of the first to focus specifically on catering to the needs of the transgender community. In a recent press briefing, Assoc Prof Kasian Panyakhamlert, co-founder of GHC, said the clinic is pioneering new ways to treat and communicate with transgender people, who have special needs and have often shunned mainstream health services. Dr Thanapop Bampenpiankul, a specialist at the clinic, reiterated the clinic's open-minded approach to healthcare provision. "Some transgender people are content to play out their assumed gender role just in the way they dress, while others want to use hormones or have sex-affirming surgery," Dr Thanapop said. According to Dr Thanapop, most trans men want to remove their ovaries but only 3%-4% want to undergo gender reassignment surgery, particularly as expert care is needed to avoid potentially life-threatening complications. Transgender men are born female but self-identify as male. Dr Thanapop said GHC provides sex-affirming surgery services for transgender people including top surgery to reshape their chests, bottom surgery to reshape the genitalia and other related surgery such as cheek and jaw reshaping and Adam's apple reduction. He said the clinic has strict guidelines to follow when sex reassignment surgery is sought. One is that transgender people must receive a psychological evaluation from mental health professionals before undergoing any irreversible procedures. The clinic is also a learning centre for physicians and medical students and it has been working closely with Chulalongkorn University's Centre of Excellence in Transgender Health. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2134787/new-clinic-for-trans-healthcare

  23. As Anddy says above, the PM's plan to reopen the country is more idea than actionable plan. From Bangkok Post New conditions set for reopening The plan to reopen the country comes with conditions, with a major requirement that only provinces that have vaccinated 70% of their population will be allowed to open completely, according to a Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) meeting. In addition, the Phuket sandbox tourism model could be paused on short notice if infections spike to 90 cases per week. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Wednesday announced a 120-day deadline for the country to reopen to international tourists and the return of normal business conditions. However, at a CCSA meeting on Friday, the body noted the mid-October goal for reopening might not be achieved nationwide. "We learned from our first failed attempt to reopen Phuket to tourists last year that such a plan should have mutual agreement from the local community. The provincial government should make the evaluation on whether the province is ready to open to international tourists," said Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn. Mr Yuthasak said 18 airlines are ready to fly to Phuket, offering roughly 200 flights. The number of booked seats stands at 6,789, but the TAT estimates it will rise to 9,000-10,000. https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/2134799/new-conditions-set-for-reopening

  24. not only is all that absurd, it is also counterintuitive. Wouldn't you expect preferential treatment for commonwealth countries by giving them the indexation, and not giving it to non-commonwealth countries? That would seem at least somehow logical (though not justified in any shape or form). Looks like absurdity squared...

  30. Yes to both - I mean "not" to both! Thanks for pointing this out. I realise my view on the Max is extreme. After all, without "electronic sorcery" Concorde would never have got off the ground and I looked forward to my one flight with a lot of excitement. But when I flew supersonic, the airliner had been safely flying passengers for 25 years and its cockpit crews were both unanimous in their praise for it and proud to be flying it. On the other hand, it was a complete airliner designed totally from scratch. To save cash and nor lose ground to Airbus whose Neo narrow body family, Boeing rejected a complete redesign for the 737 and instead yet again adapted that original 1960s low to the ground body. As I understand it, had Boeing simply lengthened the landing gear so that the fuselage sits higher off the ground, the engines could have been positioned under the wings and the problems and need for the MCAS system might have vanished. But a longer undercarriage would not have fitted into the existing wheel wells in the fuselage. So the struts would have had to be placed further out on the wing, thereby necessitating an a complete wing redesign which Boeing rejected on cost grounds. The problem was partly "solved" with some sort of telescopic strut. Another band aid solution!

  36. From The Thai Enquirer Smart AND sexy: K-drama has it all The Hallyu Wave (Korean Wave) has been a part of Thai culture for decades. Whether it’s the pretty-faced K-pop stars and their catchy music, hilarious variety shows, amazing skincare secrets, or their unisex fashion style, there’s really no stopping the cultural influence of South Korea — not only in Thailand and Asia, but throughout the world. And ever since we were all forced into lockdown by the pandemic over a year ago, their power has only grown in force and number. Why? It’s really all thanks to streaming giants like Netflix that are helping to overcome that “one-inch barrier of subtitles,” in the worlds of Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho, for us to escape into another world, a world away from the pandemic and away from our fears: the world of K-dramas! If you’re not aware of at least one K-drama, then you have probably been living under a rock. The storylines will leave you breathless at the end of every episode, and will make you swoon, gasp, and cry at their twists and turns, often all at the same time. From the historical tropes, feel-good rom-coms, family dramas to crime thrillers, here are the fan-favourite, zeitgeist-y, unmissable K-dramas on Netflix right now.
